Evernote - Notes Organizer for Negative User Reviews

Not reliableThe main purpose of a notepad is to record ideas and thoughts. I’ve been using Evernote for 6 years now for that purpose but for some reason recently the notes do not save reliably. Even on a solid 5G network, it can be extremely slow to upload and save. Sometimes it says it has saved but then I close the app and reopen and the update I wrote is gone. It seems to be a server side issue as this happens on all devices and connections. I really like this app, but unfortunately I’ve lost too many notes and ideas due saving issues to continue using it. Goodbye Evernote..Version: 10.38

Always crash after updatingI don’t know what happened to this app, before updating the app I didn’t get any problems on my iphone 6 plus but after updating I couldn’t open this app. Please fix this issue.Version: 8.17.1

Pathetic grabI am appalled. I love the idea of Evernote and have used it for many years. But today is the final straw. They offered a free version. So I have been using their free version. And for a long time now I have been disregarding their continual offers for a paid upgrade. I only use the app for storing recipes and web clippings. But I was consistently hounded to upgrade. Recently I was told to unsync a device as I had all my tablets, phone and computers using this app. To day I was told I could only use two devices. Really? I get that an app should make money. So don’t offer it for free. I am not paying for the way I use this app. I do not utilise all its functions. So why not limit some of its functions for non paying users.?Why not use advertising to gain income? Why not offer a once only cost for the app? I refuse to pay a subscription so I can check a recipe once every few months. I love how this app works but I detest the ongoing greed that forces people like myself with non-commercial or non- professional uses to pay professional subscriptions for the benefits of use. They have lost sight of the people that made this app so successful in the first place..Version: 10.4

Waste of moneyThis app offers little and they try to bleed more money out of you by offering silly templates and other Nonsense..Version: 8.17.1

Do not use! They just changed their system and I had to move all of my notes. I had used this app for 6 years, extremely disappointed and would not recommend to anyone..Version: 10.65.1

It’s alrightIt’s a note app that requires a subscription for fancy functions, it does what it needs to mostly, however some things just break it that really shouldn’t, I keep duplicating my notes 5 times by checking off parts of my to do list, which shouldn’t happen, and god forbid I try to copy last tuesdays list to a note for next Tuesday, everything breaks and crashes- it’s good when it works but the crashing is just too much, I’m not sure what the cause is but it’s soo frustrating.Version: 10.44

Want my documents backThis app not free anymore... what about all the documents that I have in that? Can’t open them anymore... everything look like locked, can’t open the app unless have to pay....Version: 8.24.4

What's happened in the last update? Business cards not being recognised as business cards?Update: 18/8. So, I managed to get my business cards in as I was able to before. But I have to do 2 steps that Evernote used to for me automatically. 1. I have to enter the name of the person as the title. 2. I have to manually select the scan as a business card, rather than a photo. Even then, Evernote seems to save the note in another folder which is not the one I selected. It seems to have become the default folder for my scans, not sure why. Why do companies ruin products that were working perfectly well? ----------------------------------------- Evernote was working beautifully for me, until the last update. Now, business cards aren't being recognised. I can manually change it to 'business card' but whilst Evernote populates all the fields as it would do for a business card, it shows up as a Note, with the title of Note. Which means I can't search using the name, which I could be able to do previously. Please fix this ASAP. I just took out an annual subscription, and this is making the app pretty intolerable to use for me..Version: 8.3

Latest redesign so buggy - just brokenI have used Evernote since it launched on PC and the new app is so problematic. I created a note and pasted from a web page. I closed the note, reopened it and edited it and closed it. I then found I had 6 copies of the original note, one flagged with a warning as duplicate, and none containing my edit. I tried to delete the duplicates and the app froze and I had to throw it away and reload. So it used 6 times my upload space and took over 15 minutes to create a note which used to take a few seconds. Almost unusable. Again, I edited an existing note: pasted some things, undid a paste, pasted other things and saved. Went into that note 5 minutes later and was warned another version existed! The saved version was from half way through my updating so my changes are lost. After 11 years of use I am looking at migrating to OneNote..Version: 10.1

UpgradeI have the iphone7 yet I’m unable to use Evernote with this device unless I upgrade. My use is minimal and basic was enough..Version: 8.6

Recent update glitchThe most recent update is stressing me out. Every note I make doesn’t auto save correctly and it’s erasing over half of my work. Internet connection is strong so I know it’s not an issue, it’s specifically auto updating after I’ve already saved my work and closed out after it shows it’s saved, so its erasing my work to a previous file on the cloud when I open it again. Stuff I save at 7am will auto update at 10:30am erasing half my stuff, even if I’m just opening a new note or a different project. Complete stress inducer when I have deadlines! I’m now copying my work to save it in another cloud system when I’m done here, which kinda makes this feel like a pointless subscription unless I just save it in Evernote and write it elsewhere. I’ve never had this problem, ever, as a 6 yr sub member jumping from four different devices in the same 15 minutes with no issues ever. Now it’s stressful! I love my options in Evernote compared to other online digital storage for writers. I’m on an iPad Air2 fully updated, T-Mobile service, please help! I don’t have issues accessing or saving writing on my other devices, only when I use this device app. Will update my review to reflect any resolved bug updates🙏🏻.Version: 10.21

Unable to useThe app keeps promping me "Note Size Limit". I cannot even check my previous notes, nor can I delete any unused notes to squeeze more space. The app is actually forcing me to upgrade. And the most annoying thing is that it does not even show the upgrade options on the "Note Size Limit" page. The page is blank all the time and I cannot use or upgrade after I open the app. I have used this app for years and have saved quite a lot of important info in it. And now I have no access to these info and cannot export them to anywhere else. Really frustrating and disappointed!.Version: 8.24.6

Ok butI am trying to edit a preset template as I need one extra row and no idea where to find the feature....oh but to email support, I have to upgrade, seriously? Not a good way to keep users..Version: 8.24.1

Getting more and more frustrated ....I have been using Evernote Premium for many years. However, it is so unstable on my phone that it is frustrating to use. Recently it has been freezing when opening a note. Also, even though I have my notes offline, it is random as to whether it will open an attachment or not. Evernote support response is uninstall and download all my notes again. Not practical!! The fuzzy search is not very good and returns wrong notes and does not find the ones I'm expecting. I have to tag everything and then filter on tags. Seriously considering alternatives but unfortunately not sure there is a lot out there. A good product originally that has since been overcomplicated, overpriced and too unstable to be of effective use..Version: 8.17.2

Extremely unreliable. Disregard for user habitsI have been a loyal customer with 9000+ notes and 5+ years of premium subscription. The recent overhaul has introduced so many bugs and ridiculous design failures which are forcing me to consider alternative services. Sync has become extremely unreliable; I’ve had my edits wiped out by sync failures. As of now, Evernote isn’t letting me move my notes to different notebooks, due to some inexplicable bug. Very helpful features that provide flexibility to working on and organizing notes have been eliminated, I guess in the name of tidiness: opening multiple main windows, changing the created date (so helpful for arranging the notes in the order I want), magnifying the words in the editing window (which now cannot be done without magnifying everything else, making it unreasonably cumbersome to operate the sidebar). Then there are countless bugs throughout the software that keeps giving you frustrating surprises. The recent major upgrade demonstrates the team's disregard for the working habits of established users, and also raises concerns about quality control. In so many respects the new version simply isn't ready, and it's unclear to me why the company would be in a rush to release an update. An option for reverting to the older version would be much, much appreciated. Right now, I do not recommend Evernote to any new user. The company has demonstrated its inability to deliver a consistent and reliable product..Version: 10.1

Long time user - upgrade ruined my workflowI have been using Evernote for 12 years and this new update has completely changed my whole workflow. Extremely disappointing and time consuming. Here are my notes so far: emailing note becomes problematic - uses link only and not active Active link for serial number not the same Application suddenly quits often Tag shortcut not working - goes to the entire notebook when looking at detail Workchat Scrolls down the entire chat before getting to the dialog line Cant copy a chat to paste details Sorting Notes sort somehow?? Want newest on top. Sort by updated not available on tag search eg my active shortcut Help suggests to use the Sort by option in the ... menu - no such thing! Sometimes iphone notes wont open in the list have to quit app and reopen Moving notes from one notebook to another doesn’t work well Scanning business cards involves more steps - doesn’t take own photo then have to choose how to save Notebook searching - can’t open the notebook from search Different devices have different shortcuts.Version: 10.0.4

I paid but am stuck with free versionI have used and liked the free version of Evernote for many years. Latest editions of the free version constantly prompt users to upgrade to a paid plan. I finally gave in and paid 91.99$ Canadian for a one year Personal subscription. The payment went through but I still don’t have access to the paid version. Worst is that adds to upgrade continue to pop up and I can’t add new notes since I exceed the max of 50 notes associated with the free version. Also, the only communication channels with the app managers when you have the free version are through the users forum so there is no way to get help. I was robbed over 90$. This is frustrating!.Version: 10.65.1

Used to be brilliant - now essentially uselessI have loved Evernote for years, recommended it to absolutely everyone and currently PAY for premium. This is a MASSIVE waste of money as it now does not work at all on mobile- I cannot access or download any of my saved PDFs through my phone, which is incredibly frustrating as it renders the service fairly useless to me unless I’m strapped to my laptop. Incredibly disappointed with this app- especially as I have now paid my year subscription up front and can now barely use it. Don’t bother downloading until they sort this ridiculous issue out..Version: 8.10.1

Avoid at All costsAfter a decade of using this app these greedy developers have made this app redundant. Good luck maintaining any customers, you’re not Netflix!.Version: 10.67.0

I can’t take it any moreI’ve been using the free version this app for years and used to love it but it’s seems like the developers are getting desperate. I used to be able to use it on my pc, iPad and iPhone for free, but now it wants me to sign up to premium to keep using the third device. Every time I open the app they make me click through a 40% off sale banner. Limited time only? Not really! And even at 40% off, it’s really expensive for what you get - Google Keep does everything I want for free, so I’ve just moved my notes to there. Bye Evernote, you used to be great..Version: 10.3

Latest update crashes my EvernoteThe latest update crashes Evernote on my phone. And there is no way to exit the update tutorial..Version: 10.2

It used to be much betterLike many of the others who have posted reviews recently, I have used Evernote for many years and come to rely heavily on it for organizing just about every aspect of my life. But I’ve grown increasingly frustrated with its performance in the past six months to a year. I think the problem is that it doesn’t sync well, and especially not across multiple platforms (MacBook laptop, iPad, iPhone). But even just on one platform, I can type a note, then come back to it a few minutes later and discover that only the first few words of the note were saved. The rest is blank. Or Evernote will create multiple versions of the same note, each different only slightly from the previous version, and I have to figure out which one is the prevailing version and to make sure that no information got lost across the different versions. It’s getting to the point where I just don’t trust the app with important information. I wish the developers would attend to this, or at least admit that it’s a problem they’re concerned about, as it’s clearly a problem for many users..Version: 10.39

Just when you thought it got better, it gets worseI upgraded to the latest iPhone so I can use this app a bit more, and even then, it crashes, heats up the phone and duplicates files 🥲 It’s a regular desire to move to another platform..Version: 10.53.1

Complaint. Why won’t Evernote print my notes anymore. What have you changed. I need to print my messages..Version: 8.12

Google wants to be there tooWhy should we let these big giants be everywhere we go and know anything we do? Downloaded the app and immediately deleted it after finding out that I have to make an account or sign in with google account. My privacy, my business!!! Please stay out!! Thanks. Too bad I can’t even try out the app..Version: 8.17.1

Value for money?Great tool and functionality, but not worth the price of a subscription.Version: 10.62.3

The New Update is HORRIBLE!The new updates to the app have ruined the best features of Evernote. It is SUPER difficult to use on my iPhone and MacBook in so many ways. Scrolling through a note is almost impossible and instead clicks on the note to edit it, making hard to simply read a note. Adding and editing pictures to a note is such a headache. One of the most convenient features of app on the MacBook was being able to capture a portion of the screen through the “Quick note” feature at the top, even when you’re on a full screen page - the new update has completely removed that feature and it’s full screen capture feature exits the whole page when you click it, thus defying the point. This went from being the most convenient application on my devices to the most inconvenient. I hope they fix this..Version: 10.8.2

Developed to DeathI was a long time subscriber as it suited me but the annual fee became too expensive for the limited service as more features were added but didn’t enhance functionality. Moving back to the free version they have now removed the basic web access from any devices other than the two approved devices. This smacks of greed and almost blackmail - keeping users paying to have all their notes if they’re using another device. Very poor form Evernote, keep this up and you won’t be around much longer..Version: 10.5.1

Maybe time to switchI have been using Evernote for probably ten years. A couple years ago when it started to limit two devices, I tolerated since two devices are mostly enough. Once in a long while when I need to use a third device just to take a random note, I’d go to website and do it there. Unfortunately yesterday when attempted to do so, I found web version is counting as a device and being limited as well. I don’t really want to complain since I’ve used the free service for that many years. I understand the need to monetize otherwise the company will just die. However, there are so many alternatives which do exact the same in slightly different ways, but free and probably better performance. I think Evernote have missed the best time to grow revenue. Or has it ever figured out the best way to make money? Ads, selling goods, anybody remember Evernotes selling socks? Forcing users to buy or harassing users with premium upgrades are suboptimal business practice. Maybe it’s time for me to explore other options and start to switch. I’m afraid that one day Evernote is going to limit users to one device, and eventually die to competition. Sad but this is a brutal market..Version: 10.4

Latest update stopped app workingThe Aug 8th update kicked me out of all my business notes and I can't get back in.Version: 8.3

Infuriatingly Slow! When you want to take a note fast, Evernote will let you down. After starting the app it freezes while the sync takes about 30 seconds to complete and the entire UI is frozen. And then when you press that plus button to create a note it can take over a minute for the spinner to go away as its checking for your templates (of which I have none). This really hurts your enthusiasm for taking notes as it feels like it’s punishing you for starting it. Compare with the speed of Apple’s built in notes app..Version: 8.17.1

Why’d you have to break itI’ve been an Evernote Premium user for around 6 years now. With the current version it’s incredibly difficult to navigate (try and find how to full-screen your note if you’ve started typing on iPad), the search feature is all over the place, the notes don’t sync well between devices (I’ve actually lost notes), it’s slow now, etc. Then for a recent trip I offlined a handful of notebooks - turned off my wifi and closed & opened the app to make sure I could access the notes and it worked as it should. Next day I arrive to the National Park to camp without reception and of course EVERNOTE CANNOT LOAD ANY OF MY OFFLINED NOTEBOOKS. Honestly at this point Apple Notes is better than this paid app... if it’s not fixed soon I’m out. Every update I’ve been more and more disappointed in the broken features! I even joined the beta team to try and help provide feedback but that too was a waste of time. UPDATE: Despite paying for Evernote Premium, I was just notified I have to subscribe to the new service or cannot access my Evernote on multiple devices. I’m not even getting the service I paid for because they have a new plan…..Version: 10.30

Slow, badly designed and really annoyingHere’s the thing… A note taking app should be just that. A way to take notes QUICKLY or access notes you’ve taken QUICKLY whilst you are in the middle of actually doing something else. This used to be a very good app, but it is now so full of junk and a badly-designed UI that it makes it really difficult to find and organise your notes. On top of that, every time they put out an update it just gets slower. Seriously… Tap on a note to open it and wait over 30 seconds for it to open. I’m here writing a review because I’ve just opened the App Store to search for another note taking app and this came up as ‘Editor’s Choice’. I can only think that’s a paid placement because anyone who has actually used this app knows it’s now slow and rubbish. Don’t believe me? Just do a Google search for ‘Why is Evernote so slow’ and you’ll see the ton of comments on their support site that are just ignored. Don’t use this app… It’ll drive you mad. Find something else..Version: 10.27

Terribly Buggy AppI downloaded evernote due to websites saying it was the best app for to-do-lists and notes. Boy is it NOT. I wanted to step away from iNotes because it constantly loads blank and apple refuses to even acknowledge it’s an issue. So I tried evernote and it’s WORSE! At least with iNotes it saves what I write, I just have to close and open the app for it to load again. With evernote I am CONSTANTLY having to re-type stuff after saving what I write. CONSTANTLY, meaning 90% of the time I type anything. That is not a joke. I click the save icon and either the last thing I wrote is completely gone, or only half of it saved. So I’m constantly wasting time retyping things. Again, it’s all the time. I have a new iPhone with the latest ios. I have auto updates on this app, so there should be no reason it is THIS buggy. I’ve used it for about a week and I am always having to check to make sure everything saved. The notes also duplicate blank copies as well. Often enough that I’m regularly having to go in and click on both notes to see which one is the blank so I can delete it. Then add in that the app signs itself out regularly. I’m either switching back to iNotes (not happy about that) or finding something else because this app is frankly so buggy it’s an unusable waste of time..Version: 10.45.2

TerribleHas to be the worst update to an app I have ever seen. Use to love Evernote now it’s slow, buggy the UI is hard to navigate. It’s so slow. Can’t encrypt large amounts of texts anymore. I’m a premium user for the last 8 years so I’ve used it a lot. I’d say the programmers are to blame but the managers letting this get through are even worse. The only thing stopping me from changing is the legacy app for PC. Once this is removed I’ll change to another app. If they read these reviews they would want to revert to the older version before people leave in droves ... if it isn’t happening already..Version: 10.4

Good but needs more bugs fixedGenerally a good app and the free version has pretty generous limits. I use the Mac version too and it syncs pretty instantly. Unlike, say, OneNote it uses a single text flow so everything is always wrapped to fit on the screen. The potential downside is that you can’t just dump stuff in random locations on a “page”. I prefer Evernote’s solution for my needs. It’s annoying that links can’t be made on the phone version (you just have to have the full URL as the link). There always seems to be a bug of some sort – such as every time I go back to the app, it has to reload and it takes me to an “all notes” view. I just want to get back to exactly where I was!.Version: 8.17

New version very slow and badThe new version is extremely slow, difficult to use, I don’t understand why we need this new version when we have the old version with good experience. I want to get the old version back, but I think it is impossible so I am considering to move out from Evernote..Version: 10.9

Downhill tragedy of an appThis used to be the best app around. And I used to pay the subscription, but now that subscription is getting absurdly expensive as well as more and more features moving from premium to their higher tiers subscriptions, so got over it and switched to the free version and accepted the limited devices. Then they just keep removing more and more features from the free version as well now. Even when I was paying it was getting ridiculous how often pop ups to go to a higher tier sub was becoming. In the free tier it is littered with it. Banners at the top every time you touch a note ‘upgrade now’ adds that take several presses to remove. Whoever is in charge of this company making these moronic decisions needs to to be kicked in the head..Version: 10.66.0

Overly good. Some recent issues.Use all the time. Especially good for study and having reference notes. Plus sharing notebooks between peers. Recently issues with syncing between computer and iPhone resulting in notes not updated and multiple notes. This is a big issue as it’s why I chose Evernote. Also sharing is a great feature but often clunky. Also too expensive now. Will likely not update subscription..Version: 10.51.1

Bring back native Dark Mode and fix time outsLongtime Pro user of Evernote and love it. It’s great for my dream journal and all the other notes I need to take as well. I just really wish you didn’t get rid of native dark mode in the app. I like using dark mode in Evernote regardless of what my iPhone is doing. It is just much easier on my eyes and I’ve been using it that way forever. I’ve seen similar requests in the reviews to bring it back, and it really doesn’t seem like a big deal to do. Please consider it, it was a great touch and details like that matter when you’ve been using them forever. Also the app times out MUCH quicker now. I have also seen many others annoyed about this in the reviews. I, too, will be doing research in another app or browser, and quickly move back and forth between that and Evernote to make notes. It used to be no problem, but after these last updates, it essentially times out immediately upon shifting from Evernote to a different app. Coming back to Evernote, it might not have even saved what I had just written and it’s back to the top. Please fix this! I’ll gladly change my rating to 5 stars once these bugs and features are fixed. Please listen to your customers or they’ll start moving to the competitors who do..Version: 8.24.1

Used to love it :(I used Evernote for the first year of my degree and found it incredible! I recommended it to everyone, it is so easy to use with so many amazing features that make life just that bit more organised. However, I now have a iPad Pro rather a laptop, and have found the app to be unbearable, multiple times (I mean multiple, I’ve nearly cried because of it) my work just goes missing! I’ll sit through a lecture or start on an essay, type up my notes, change over to a different app or close it then come back into Evernote and my notes have just ... gone. No sign of them in the trash bin, nothing. With auto-save I don’t know how to prevent this from happening, so I’ve had to resort back to boring old Word for the time being, because if another essay goes missing I’ll have a break down. Please sort this out guys I really love Evernote but I can’t have work going missing :((((.Version: 10.1

MsI have been using and recommending this app. for years and was about to upgrade. However, I updated my Evernote app yesterday and now the app is crashing whenever I open it. I can’t access my notes and work and am becoming quite worried. My iPad is running on IOS 13.3, so it is within the recommenced running software. I use the notebook for everything and in particular, to hold my artistic listings for my online jewellery shows. I can’t work without access to it. Any suggestions?.Version: 10.9

DECADE Long User, running away loyal usersSo i’ve been using for a really long time not a new user, what i don’t appreciate is being bombarded with premium pop ups that i have to “CONFIRM” just to exit out of everytime i enter the app.i especially don’t like how you’re denied doing very basic things such as customizing a home screen???? without paying for premium. what’s funny is i hate the layout, thus i’ve been using evernote LESS but a quick fix to improve my accessibility (no need for scratch pad to be smack in the center looks tacky) is seen as a CASH GRAB for them. i’ve been VERY loyal for over a decade with this platform. i feel the same way ive felt with a photo editor once called picmonkey—also started using when i was only a teenager and cash grabbing (now) young adults who were loyal ran me away. 😞 sad but i may actually have to start looking for something that has a better layout by default, something i don’t have to pay for how RIDICULOYS. again a shame because i’ve been using for so long. don’t fix what’s broken, i no longer feel like we’re family..Version: 10.62.0

DisappointedI have been an avid user of Evernote for multiple years, and recommended it to many people. but today I deleted my account after feeling a great sense of disappointment and frustration. I am a writer, and used it for my notes, I didn’t love the way it was formatted but made it work for my needs and mainly used it to keep my notes across devices. With the introduction of the AI features, I got slightly frustrated and made sure to research how they process the data kept in notebooks, I kept using it since, until today, when I logged in and got suddenly locked out of transferring one of my 900 notes into another notebook, creating a new note, or editing anything I wrote: just to be clear this is because, without warning, mention or explanation of it; they’ve decided that free users such as myself have to keep LESS THAN 50 NOTES in ONE NOTEBOOK; the downgrade from allowing limitless notes and many notebooks for free to literally 50 notes is completely ridiculous and exploitative; now seeking to ONLY LET YOU KEEP WORKING AS USUAL IF YOU give them £80. This is ridiculous, and would have at least needed to be communicated beforehand. I transferred all of my notes into PDF and deleted my account. I would not recommend it; they are money hungry. Goodbye..Version: 10.61.2

So long EvernoteThis app used to be amazing. It was free and features were great. Now they’ve severely limited free use. I get that…they need to make money. The problem is it’s ridiculously expensive and they’ve changed a bunch of things that made it so much worse. Now I start the search for an alternative app..Version: 10.62.2

Crashes all the time lately on iOSSeems like the writing is on the wall for this company. I got in with them at ground zero and they were great. Even was a premium user for a while. But The app bloat goes up and up and the reliability down and down. Seems it’s getting close to not even providing their original service. Perhaps they need a new CEO. BTW fixed the crashing issue with a full delete and reinstall. So they get an extra star for that..Version: 10.45.2

Packed with features - but lacks in the absolute basicThis app is very feature rich (as I'm sure you can see in the description). But for me it's constantly failed the fundamental feature a notes app has - saving notes. It is ridiculous how often I've had to triple check if a note actually saved, or if it synced properly. So this app is not ideal if it's for quickly saving things to remember on the go. Edit: Popups, popups and more popups. Also, now they've resorted to limiting you to 1 notebook and 50 notes if you don't pay. Good bye OneNote..Version: 10.67.0

New home screen forced to keepAlways loved evernote and used it for nearly ten years. with a new update there came a new home screen, which I would like to edit to turn off the new features as not needed. And now I cannot even turn these off or change or remove that awful image that evernote automatically set up (got to look at it every time am opening the app) plus am asked to pay for the new features I don’t even want to use! I am already paying a membership and find the additional charge for an imposed home screen lousy..Version: 10.10

App doesn’t save changesUsed to love it, but latest version of the iPhone app doesn’t save changes. Garbage..Version: 10.2

Steadily getting worseI've been a paying Evernote customer for many years with a lot of my stuff in there but as time has gone on it's been more and more frustrating to use. Attachments won't download. Or you wait 5 minutes while it "says" it is downloading then gets done and nothing happens. Photos won't show. Try to bring up some reference document while you are working on something and every time your phone times out the app just can't seem to handle it and won't just leave the document/note open you were looking at - you start all over - search for the document AGAIN, wait for it to come up, etc. Search inexplicably can't find things where the title or tag has the exact word in it I'm searching for. And there have been times where I have REALLY needed to get to particular piece of information and just couldn't. That is extremely frustrating - that's the point of why I put stuff in there. This product started out awesome in the days when everyone was still using desktops. As we've progressed into to mobile era it just hasn't kept up. Trying to access my stuff in the phone app is a frustrating experience almost every time - and trying to use the site in a mobile browser is worse. I haven't put anything new in for quite some time because it just no longer fits well or just doesn't work simply with how I do things anymore in the mobile era, let alone the fact that the app in general just doesn't work well..Version: 10.2

Poorly save articles from news appI read a lot of news, magazines, reviews, opinion pieces everyday and thought Evernote would be a perfect app to help me archive the things I read, similar to the WebClipper function on computer. Turn out it is not the case. After adding the articles to Evernote using the add-on function to iPhone, when I open my archive, only the first paragraph of each article was saved! Not to mention the format of the saved article is very messy. This is in huge contrast to the performance of WebClipper add-on. Very disappointing. Since I only use Evernote on my iPhone to archive the articles, from now on, I don’t think I gonna use it again until it’s fixed..Version: 8.5.1

The Fall of RomeIt’s sad to see something I love die such a slow and painful death. And it is painful. I’ve been using Evernote for around 10 years and it’s genuinely one of those life-changing applications that really improve your life in the way tech should. Without going into all the reasons why I love it, which could take some time, I’ll just focus on the latest update which is a reboot of the entire platform and in my opinion a bad one (like so many reboots) It’s so frustrating because in many ways it is genuinely better than the last iteration. However I wasn’t particularly a fan of the last version either and to be honest I rarely used it on my phoneBecause it was so slow and clunky. However the new version came out a couple of days ago on the Mac and I downloaded it with excitement. Sadly I was greatly disappointed by it, it removed so many core features and it just felt incomplete and not ready. The exact same can be said for the mobile app. I cannot even open my notes. You see the list then you click it and it just highlights grey and nothing happens. They also make a big story of amping up todo’s but you can’t even move them around. The one thing I do like is that it resembles the desktop version more now by swiping to see the full sidebar. The search seems to be potentially quicker and more accessible. However all of that means nothing if the notes themselves don’t open. Very disappointed..Version: 10.0.4

Notes going missingSince the latest updates, notes have been disappearing! Without a trace, very infuriating.Version: 8.16.5

One of my favorite and most used appsThe latest iOS version update contains a problem that prevents moving notes from one folder to another. I tried to report the problem, but the convoluted, dreadfully complex barriers to prevent reporting problems is nothing short of an insult to Evernote’s customers. I gave up and don’t plan to ever waste my time trying to report problems in the future. Evernote should be ashamed for trying to prevent the easiest possible reporting of problems. Having used Evernote for well more than 10 years now, I do not make the above statement lightly. That being said, Evernote has proven to be every bit as handy as I had hoped. The shared access is a great convenience. I am using it much more than I had originally expected, and most likely, I will continue finding additional convenient uses. I sincerely hope that whenever Evernote finally becomes aware of the problem(s) with its iOS app, that its normal superb functionality will be restored. Fortunately, Evernote continues to work properly on my computer. Normally, I use the iPhone version very frequently daily..Version: 10.53.1

Keep crashing on iPadEvernote recently updated on my iPad and now it just keeps constantly freezing and crashing. I can barely use it now. I have used this app since 2011 and up until it updated yesterday, I’ve been using it all day/every day. For a month for writing. It’s extremely frustrating that it’s become so buggy.Version: 10.37.1

Mobile app can be improved...I love Evernote - I have been using it since it launched. The desktop app is excellent, and I tend to clip stuff from my desktop using the browser web clipper - which has the option of saving as a simplified article - this is the option I always use. Mobile, however is another story - the ipad app in particular tends to save everything as a web archive which ends up having really weird formatting - I noticed they have now introduced this to the phone app too (which never used to be the case. The iPhone app used to clip as a simplified article). So now, I tend to re clip everything when I am on my desktop which is a tad annoying! So for Evernote itself - desktop / browser web clipper 5 stars. Mobile apps - 2 stars - hence the 3 star average. Please sort it out - don’t try to fix stuff which doesn’t need fixing! Not too keen on the new ‘home page’ either. As developers you should be keeping the app working smoothly - don’t introduce stuff which is useless! Thank you!!!.Version: 10.9

Great until they got greedyI use notes a lot. Mostly text, occasionally with photos included. That, and multiple notebooks/sections, and a search function, was all I needed. When I exported them migrating away from Evernote, I found I had accumulated about 400 of them over about 14 years. Evernote was great. I used the free version because the paid versions never added anything I needed. Then they restricted the paid version to 50 notes, and I thought ok they’ll get some money out of me. 30-odd dollars a year would be about right. But not what Evernote is charging: for that price, my whole family gets all of Microsoft 365 and 1TB storage each. So I went for OneNote which I’m paying for anyway. Microsoft’s cross-platform support has got quite good over the past 14 years..Version: 10.61.2

Basics, but not feeling the innovationI have been a die hard Evernote fan for years, and run my life out of it. I feel like I’ve been waiting for a couple years now for Evernote to pick up it’s game, and I just havent experiences that yet. Ie. changing the default folder on new Notes. I’ve since moved three companies and it’s an annoying extra step to change folders. I just don’t do it, and files are getting messier Ie. the “check your internet connection - your not connected to the server” I’m online, and everything else works accept Evernote. this has been going on for months now. This is the final straw for me - I can’t access my Christmas shopping list, I’m at the mall and I’m literally guessing by memory right now, and this is my last day of Christmas shopping before I leave to another country. Isn’t this what Evernote is suppose to do? Sorry for the rant. Just being honest because it has been so long. I will be giving Notion a try, as I’ve now had two recommendations for it from organised people that I trust..Version: 8.24.2

Used to be amazingThere was even a glorious little interim where it was even better. So useful, two years ago I would’ve said it was a five star gem. More recently however, astonished by how bad it is, it looks beautiful but if there are glitches precluding you from even accessing, what is the point, and why don’t you have any accessible support for your disabled users? The help section is extremely difficult to navigate, while the app now has so many glitches it is impossible to use it. Crashes, logs out and forced to repeatedly reset the password relentlessly. Using browser based defeats the point. After nine years, 15,000 notes, and a Pro subscription, forced by the lack of support and accessibility, and inability to even access the app, to find an alternative. Genuinely gutted and so disappointed..Version: 10.62.2

Loosing loyal consumerI’ve had Evernote since 2012. SO you can imagine the amount of notes and notebooks I have. As of Dec 2023, they have forced free users to upgrade because the limit is not 1 notebook and 50 notes. I’m not asking to get something for nothing but $150/year for the personal plan is not feasible in this financial/consumer climate. I don’t need most of the features, so make it customizable so we can choose what we can afford, or just charge for cloud storage. It’s just so disappointing how capitalism has ruined yet another good thing. Now to figure out how to transfer all the notes to something else. BYE.Version: 10.66.0

WARNING - DO NOT USE!!So I guess the goal of the current Evernote team is to tank this product. I’ve been using this product since for sure 2014/2015 and possibly since 2010. Initially yearly memberships were about $50/yr (which was not the best for a student but still doable). I managed to pickup my first year on a sale for less than that. Then year after year I continued to pay the membership fee which became tougher as they continued to push the price up to $75 and most recently to $150/yr. I obviously could not afford this insane cost as a student so I went back to the free version last year, which doesn’t do everything I need but offers the basics. Then ~10months after jacking the price they email users to say that the free version only gets 50 notes and 1 note book. Needless to say after using this product for as long as I have, I have significantly more than 50 notes. I won’t support a company with predatory practices like this (even once I finish my professional program in the summer and can write off the expense). I will now have the extra hassle of transferring all of my notes to another app that does everything Evernote does without the price gouging — consider supporting another company & SAVE YOURSELF THIS HASSLE..Version: 10.64.0

What happened to this great app?A few years ago this app was re written and it is still nowhere near as good as it was. You can no longer just add files to Evernote from the Mac (you can only do open with). The sync is a shocker. Even when you exit the app and it says it is syncing(Mac) it isn’t and you have to re open the app. Same goes for iOS version: you have to close and open several times to make sure it has synced. As a result you end up with multiple versions of same note and have to spend time comparing. I now have to write notes in other apps and paste it in to Evernote. Will give this a few more months and then will have to make the painful decision to go with another solution. Been using Evernote since 2011 too 😢. Not good when an app goes backwards..Version: 10.48

Simple. Easy to use. Life saver.I’m afraid to give Evernote only 3 stars. It’s simple, easy to use and beautiful. I’ve remembered so much with it; it’s just incredible. I had at one point decided to swap Evernote for Notebook; but no way am I doing that now. This is much better (you can do any amount of spaces and it won’t delete them, there is a moderate amount of tools unlike the overwhelming OneNote and the useless Notebook, and the pictures are good quality too when they are put there) It’s just incredible; how you feel with it there is just ineffable. But... There’s two things I find annoying about this app. No matter how good it is. a) So, let’s say I put a picture in Evernote, then it goes all the way to the top of the page. I want to move it to the middle somewhere. So I hold it for a long time, and then I can move it in any direction. Then when I undress it so it stays there, it goes all the way to the top again. This is really annoying... Furthermore, usually when I do this the app decides to automatically keep trying to make the page keep sliding down to the bottom, no matter how much I hold the page once I unhold it it instantly goes back to it. THIS IS REALLY ANNOYING and it really tempts me into quitting Evernote. It’s scary in a way too. b) Where are the fonts? How do you change them? They change when I copy and paste stuff, but you can’t actually change it! It’s ridiculous! Please think about this, and thank you for Evernote!.Version: 8.15.1

Updates have caused a horrible user experienceI’ve used this app since 2018 and it was my go to notes app. Slowly but surely they have made the experience worse and worse as they push their paid version on you. It’s now so bad that every page you open or note you click on you get an ad for the full version. This is a note app, I’ll happily switch to the apple notes app if this is going to continue to be such a nightmare of an app to use. On top of all this I have noticed certain notes that were once filled are now empty, leaving this app not only horrible to use but completely useless as it can’t do it’s only job..Version: 10.62.3

Don’t like the updateIt’s harder to do bullet points - takes more clicks than it used to to change the indent of them, and also can’t figure out how to change back from a numbered bullet to standard..Version: 8.15.1

This is just so very badI’ve been an Evernote customer since 2009 but moved to apple notes a few years ago when they improved that. Evernote tempted me back with all of their product feedback and new release talk, so I signed up to the pro account because that’s what I needed to use it in the way I need to. And it is insanely bad, the syncing across platforms is so slow and sometimes just doesn’t happen. I’ve been using it for 1 week and I’ve had documents on my iPad that didn’t sync so couldn’t get a presentation on my desktop. I mean... it’s the basics that are now somehow worse than 10 years ago. I am totally blown away by how bad this is. I have never written a review like this. That’s how moved I was to write this. And there are also no new features since I last used it, I’m actually laughing at how bad this is. Steer clear, many amazing apps out there that are leagues ahead..Version: 10.1

Used Evernote since 2014 but no moreEverything everyone has recently said is true: Evernote is pushing loyal users away from their platform by implementing steep fees for features that have been free for over a decade, while also leaving their app in a buggy and incomplete state. My biggest issue is not that they now have a 50 notes/1 notebook limit for the free plan, it’s that they don’t let you move notes to one notebook without paying if you had exceeded that limit at time of upgrade. I had about 60 notes across 2 notebooks, so upon seeing the new limits, I just started deleting old, unused notes to get below 50 total. The problem came when I tried to move notes from the second notebook into the first so that I could reduce my usage to one notebook total: moving notes between notebook triggers the prompt to pay for service. This means that you cannot abide by their new limits if you had more than one notebook at time of the most recent update. Since Evernote is adopting underhanded and anti-consumer tactics to get money out of loyal users, I will be leaving the app. They have been aggressive in trying to squeeze money from users in the past, but now they have outright forced users to pay by holding a decade’s worth of work hostage with new limits. Ridiculous..Version: 10.62.0

Useless in 2024I would happily pay a one time fee to use it but they've cornered you now to pay a mandatory subscription fee, so now you have to pay a hefty annual fee until the end of time to keep using it. Avoid.Version: 10.62.3

Warning: update turns app into ransom wareI cannot warn you strongly enough not to update this app. After using Evernote for many years, I updated the app after upgrading to iOS 11. Evernote has now locked me out of my notes and demands I pay for a premium plan to regain access to my data. The app will tell you you can use the basic plan and drop down to 2 devices BUT the option doesn’t work! The “Save and continue” button is greyed out until you select to drop all devices. Evernote support is non-responsive and it appears my only option is to bite the bullet and pay $100 or lose four years + of data. Don’t trust Evernote unless you like being sucker punched!.Version: 8.4.1

Lost workI spent hours working and writing out notes in Evernote and unfortunately when I opened it on my second device none of it had been saved. When I went back to my first device it had reverted to the earlier version because I had opened it on a different device. It’s quite frustrating if the program won’t sync and it becomes unreliable / lose hours of work because of this malfunction. There is also no history to be able to see previous versions 8’ order to retrieve lost work..Version: 10.33

Epic Failure on Multiple LevelsI have been an Evernote Premium subscriber for about eight years. BUT!!! For a couple of weeks now, I have not been able to access my Evernote app!! Despite my Evernote account ‘and’ bank account ‘clearly’ showing that I ‘have’ renewed my monthly subscription (good up to 15 Oct 2020), the Evernote app on all of my devices kicks me out of my notes and consistently takes me to the splashscreen telling me to ‘upgrade’ to Premium!! To add further insult to injury, I have just received an email from Evernote telling me that they ‘want me back in Premium’ and that they will give me a 40% discount off the yearly subscription if I ‘come back’!!! I have written a number of emails to Evernote via their website, but, as yet, ‘ZERO’ response from anyone!! Further insult in all of this is that, because my account refuses to recognise me as a paid-up Premium subscriber, I can not even utilise the ‘chat’ facility on the Evernote website!! So, the bottom-line is that I ‘have’ paid my ‘Premium’ subscription renewal, but am treated as a ‘Basic’ account holder!!; I have emailed Evernote for support, but have ‘not’ heard back regarding any form of support!!; and, ultimately, I am unable to access the notes I save into Evernote - which pretty much ‘defeats’ the purpose of investing into the app!! Considering the years of loyalty I have invested into the app/company, I am ‘deeply’ disappointed by the ‘TOTAL’ lack of support!!.Version: 10.0.1

Updating reviewI gave this app a one star review a few weeks ago, and have since received a response from the development team. For context, I have been using Evernote for more than a decade, and have been a paying user for many of those years. My early experiences were fantastic; the program ran smoothly, I literally never had a reason to complain. As I have relied more and more on it over the last couple of years, the bugginess and overall poor performance of the app has become too much to ignore, prompting my negative review. The response I received from the development team leads me to bemoan the fact there is not a rating below a single star. For every issue that I identified as a problem to the team that reached out, I kid you not the response was a variation of: “This is a known issue, we have no timeline for when it will be fixed.” While I may have an appreciation for the honesty of that response, there is nothing about that which gives me any incentive to continue to grind through a frustrating experience with an app I literally use daily when there are other options/ecosystems out there for me to try. It will be an unbelievably painful process for me to in fact extricate myself from Evernote’s ecosystem, but at this point it would be the definition of insanity for me to remain in it - they know there are problems, they have no idea when (if?) they will be fixed. Buyer beware; this is not the Evernote of 5 or so years ago..Version: 10.30

My RantI really used to love this app. This was the app that served as my personal journal that got me through years of hard times and served as a place where I can go to reminisce past periods in my life. I am beyond heartbroken at the corporate greed of this company. I mean come on! 130 dollars a year for a notes app? 15 dollars a month for a notes app? Make that make sense!?? I have been using Evernote for years and I know they’ve been trying their hardest to get me on a payment plan of some sort for a while now, but honestly the app just ain’t that good for me to be paying for it. There are cheaper apps if that’s what you’re looking for, and the cheapest option would be to write, the old fashioned way with pen and paper. Or use the notes app on your phone. Has it really gotten to this point fr? Gosh. I had over 700+ journal entries and they all meant the world to me. To put me behind a paywall is sick and twisted truly, when I have been using this app for over 6 years. I’m just so upset about this truly. I feel like I’m breaking up with an app lol, but I just cannot support this at all. A subscription to a notes app is entirely too greedy and I have to say no. So for that, 1 star, I think you’ve served your purpose and I hope you’re happy to lose yet another person. If anyone knows a better app, that’s not behind a paywall lmk smh..Version: 10.62.0

No customer serviceSo I've been using Evernote for over three years now and I really do love some of its features. However, two things really grind my gears. 1) When they changed to basic free accounts vs. paid upgrade accounts, we lost the ability to access on all devices as they limited basic users to two devices. I have it on my phone & laptop, so I can't have the app on my tablet. So I tried to access through the browser on my tablet and it wasn't "formatted" for that kind of access. Now it just forces you to the app store. Beyond irritating. 2) There's ZERO customer service. As a basic user, your only option is the user forum which has too many posts to read, and it's just users - not Evernote help desk. So how some rando user is supposed to answer my account-specific issue is beyond me. Not only that, but from what I see in the forums from paid users, Evernote takes weeks to respond to inquiries, if at all. So what's the point of upgrading to paid service? I don't understand how they run a successful user-based business without supporting the users. It's really disappointing because when functioning properly, it's a great product..Version: 8.4.1

Terrible UpdateI’m a long-time Evernote user, and I use the app across multiple devices. I rely on it to organize notes and recipes, and also to track bookmarked articles that I want to reference later. The most recent iOS update has made the app completely unusable. Every action is painfully slow. It crashes often. And then when I finally get a note open (like a recipe, for example), if I switch between Evernote and another app, then Evernote completely restarts and I lose my place and have to search for the note again. This happens even if I switch apps for less then a minute. On top of that, I use Evernote primarily to bookmark webpages, not to clip them. When I open up a note, it’s unclear how to force the app to take me to the original webpage. Sometimes if I tap the note to edit it, Evernote launches its embedded browser (which is ridiculously slow). But other times when I tap the note, it goes into editing mode and there aren’t any options to navigate to the original webpage. I use Evernote to reference recipes several times a week, and I had to stop using my phone for that task. Instead, I search for the recipe using Google on my laptop because it’s faster. Obviously that totally defeats the purpose of having an app on my phone. I’ve never written an App Store review before, but I’m so disappointed in this update that I felt compelled to post something. Evernote is a great product, but this is a terrible app..Version: 10.1

Unfriendly moveBad idea to make free version customers force into pay version with risk to loose all theirs notes. Money vs customers. Good luck.Version: 10.62.2

Good but needs more core improvementsI use the paid version app for about 2 years, the app is good and the syncing with Skitch is ingenious. However it got a few hiccups that I find very annoying: 1. The new division between notes and reminders on a desktop version is not comfortable to use. And I cannot find how to turn an existing reminder back to note and vise versa. 2. Now it is impossible to create a new notebook from anywhere but to go to the notebooks and open only from there! It’s such a pain. (On desktop) 3. No predictive tagging on the desktop! - Unlike when clipping with Evernote from the web the tags on desktop are not predictive so I find often having the very same tag just with slight changes a few times. 4. No tag management nor new tags creation options on the mobile !!!! I find it extremely irritating! I’m on the move a lot and when I create a new note on my iPhone or iPad I cannot tag it as I go !!! I cannot predict in advance what possible tags I will need so I have the option to tag it with wrong tag or not tag it at all and then try and remember later what I intended to tag. 5. The tagging placement on mobile = the location from where to add the tags is not comfortable to find or work with. 6. It’s very uncomfortable to delete notes in the desktop version. The delete icon is hidden and is very frustrating to search it..Version: 8.24.1

Not freeSadly not free.Version: 10.34.1

Two factor AuthenticationDO NOT SWITCH ON TWO FACTOR AUTHENTICATION or if you do guard the codes they provide you with your life. I changed my phone number this year and Evernote is one of the companies I forgot to update my new number with. Recently bought a new phone and my Evernote account is unaccessible and ill never get it back as the robots that work at Evernote won’t allow me to prove who I am and that my Evernote account is actually MY account, my Evernote account has every bit of information needed to empty my bank account, access my credit card, copy my passport and basically destroy my life and allow someone to become me yet Evernote aren’t interested in allowing me to prove my account is mine, the app is there’s but the data is mine and I can’t get it back. With a copy of my passport photographed and stored in my account I could easily prove who I am, my passport can get me into countries all over the world but it can’t get me into my Evernote app 🤷‍♂️.Version: 10.55.1

Disappointed since changes madeI’ve used Evernote for many years. But I haven’t needed to use the paid version for what I do. They recently changed free subscription to have one notebook and 50 notes. I have one notebook with 24 notes but it won’t let me add any more without paying for it. Tried contacting Evernote a month ago with no response. Not only that, I now get a pop up to pay to subscribe nearly every time I open the app, sometimes two or three times in a row. And since all of this, the app is glitchy for the first time ever. Keeps flicking me out of editing to top of note. 2 months ago I would have given 5 star rating..Version: 10.66.0

DisappointingBought the pro version on advice of a colleague, and while it’s good for some things, this isn’t a good shopping list (or any kind of “on the go” list) app. The page reloads every time you look at it so it’s painfully slow. I also use this for work and it’s fine, aside from all the “multiple versions of this note” clashes (assume due to a synching issue with the latest update). That means I’m often having to compare duplicates of the same not to make sure nothing is lost. These are the fundamental basics of a note taking app and seem to have been lost as the developers add more and more other features to lure more paid subscriptions. Honestly, if I could get a refund and change apps, I would..Version: 10.1

App going downhillI’ve used Evernote for years, but lately thinking of switching. Major issues: (1) search function used to be awesome t has been getting worse and worse; lately it is missing simple matches such as plural vs singular, incorrect spellings etc. with all the text matching tech available today there is no excuse for this poor level of word matching. (2) I store all my recipes in the app and a super common use case is to create list from a recipe and or switch between 2 or more recipes that I am making at the same time; Evernote behavior for both of these is very time-wasting. On my phone c every time I switch away from Evernote (to add some items to the shopping list) when I return to the recipe it starts me back at the top of the recipe again. Since many of my recipes are clipped from the web the actual recipe text may be V long due to clipping issues- so I may have to scroll 4-5-6 or more screens to get back to the list of ingredients. There’s just no excuse for losing y view location when I switch to another app for less than a minute. And most other apps are able to keep my view with no problem- for example e-commerce sites with long pages of product lists. In short Evernote should get the basics right before advanced “recommended items “ features that I don’t find particularly useful..Version: 8.24.2

RubbishDon’t be fooled by the high ratings. It used to be the best freemium note taking app. It went downhill fast and hard with the new owners. As someone who’s been around for at least 10 years the app has been suddenly unusable unless I start paying. Another “we don’t care about the people, just the money” service. Unless you plan on paying a high subscription price for note taking then just move on. There are plenty of other apps available that have similar functionality for free..Version: 10.62.3

Gone DownhillUsed to be the best app on the market, have used for years and store all my notes in it, don’t even mind the price of the premium subscription for the quality of the software. Sadly it’s just gone down hill over the last few years, both the mobile and desktop app have become bloated, slow and buggy. Perhaps in haste to remain current it’s been over developed, often taking a long time to load, reloading content unnecessarily, frequently getting out of sync and causing clashes which never used to happen. I’ll likely look at switching to OneNote at some point which seems to be starting to lead the way. Evernote please don’t lose your way, for something as basic but important as keeping notes it’s worth keeping it simple and fast over complex and slow!.Version: 10.13.1

Greedy and OverpricedI originally got Evernote in 2020 for note taking, and for a while, it was my go to. I found it convenient, useful, versatile. Not anymore. This is one of the most egregiously overpriced pieces of software on iOS. And for that price, you are getting a downright mediocre experience. You can’t even log in on more than TWO devices without paying? At that point the entire purpose was negated. And their newest update and completely ruined it for me: reducing Evernote Free accounts to one notebook and a mere 50 notes, YEARS after the plan was introduced. I have multiple notebooks for multiple different topics, and am now in a rush to save my work and transport it to other platforms. This is by far the nail in the coffin for me in regards to Evernote. If you value your money, use Craft, Goodnotes, OneNote, or even Apple Notes. Save your cash and skip this piece of trash..Version: 10.62.3

Absolute Rudeness from Evernote after massive price increaseNow dumping the product after having used it for 10 years or more following a 56% increase in subscription cost from £44 to £80 Complained to Evernote and got the reply below. They didn't read any of the points I raised. They just don't care. They don't get that their massive increase makes the product unviable when there are free options out there. Good riddance Evernote. You will lose many more customers after me no doubt. ------ Evernote Support Team (Evernote Help and Learning) Oct 23, 2023, 09:00 PDT Hello Steve, Thanks for reaching out. Evernote’s pricing has been updated to help us continue improving product performance and reliability, as well as enabling further investment in our core capabilities like world-class search, syncing, and editing, along with new features like Collaborative Editing and AI Search. Please note that, unfortunately, we can not revert you to the previous pricing, as we want to ensure we offer the same conditions to all our customers. Should you need any further assistance, don’t hesitate to contact us again. Kind regards, Evernote Support Team.Version: 10.57.0

No longer freeSo the subscription fees came in and now a very efficient and functional app has just become an ad for itself, prompting you numerous times on every screen to subscribe and pay to keep more than 50 notes along with other aspects like saving your notes. all these use to be free applications of the app and now its just a huge money grab..Version: 10.66.0

Scam and unreliableThis has to be the most “scam like” software crowd. How do you send an email with up dated ts & cs on a Friday and then deactivate the account 2 days later with no warning. It was a teams account and won’t let me reactivate with 1 seat. Checking to see when account was paid to so I can register a complaint to my bank. All my docs and notes have gone where exactly???? What a joke and an unreliable solution…looking for alternatives now. No support online to raise the issue without logging in (deactivated remember) and makes me add a new email account - not today Evernote - smells like a scam to me !!.Version: 10.66.0

UnfortunateThis was my go to app for personal journalling but the new update limiting to 50 notes and 1 note book is absurd— gotta transfer everything to notes app ig.Version: 10.64.0

Super Upsetting Update.Don’t be fooled, only reason you’re getting 2 stars is because I get to keep all of the notes I’ve made before this horrid update. I’ve been using this app for years and I could tolerate the pop-ups for the paid version, but now it’s literally being forced on me or I can’t make any new notes. I really REALLY liked this app because it was perfect for keeping notes for my games all organized, but I think I’ll find a different app to use until you realize how stupid of an idea it is to try to force people to pay for this. Don’t get me wrong though, if it was a ONE TIME payment for a reasonable price I would do it. I’m so sick subscription based purchases and I can’t wait for companies to realize they’re just going to keeping pushing their costumers away with this tactic. It was a good app while it lasted. Let me know when it’s either a one time payment or you get rid of the forced subscription tactic, please..Version: 10.64.0

Keep dropping notesSo for months now my notes will simply stop being saved, without any warning, on the ipad. It’s gotten so bad that I have to regularly copy/paste whatever I am writing into Apple notes because its 50/50 chance that I will completely lose text that I type into the evernote note when I finish the note and click the checkmark. This is true for my iPad and iPhone (both bought new in 2021, and fully updated), and on both I am connected to the internet and also have the relevant notebooks downloaded for offline use. It’s been so consistently bad that I (a premium user for nearly a decade) have been looking to transfer all my notes to a different service because I am doubting I can trust Evernote anymore with basic requirements (like not deleting basic text entry) on their iOS apps. Many other people have this exact problem, and have for months, and the failure of Evernote to address this basic problem implies that either Evernote is unable or unwilling to provide absolute basic functionality. Simply put, if this is not fixed soon, I will migrate to another service..Version: 10.40

New app is good but can’t printSometimes I need to print when working with kids. The new app doesn’t have this feature..Version: 10.1

Problems with updating existing noteThere is an remaining persistent problem with updating existing notes. Although the earlier issue (rewinding on my latest changes) seems fixed, it is still extremely laggy when I enter changes to my to-do checklist: just now I watched it take just over a minute to catch up after I had typed just six words. During this time I now see it has also created a duplicate note because of a note conflict, even though all recent changes have been made on the same device. I do hope these remaining frustrating problems can also be fixed. Please also stop trying to persuade me to pay more to “upgrade” to a more expensive plan whose additional features are all ones I don’t need. And now there’s a price hike on my existing plan! My priority is to keep the price down..Version: 10.49

I only require the free version, stop hounding me!!I spent the first two years really enjoying this app with the occasional “50%” off subscription offer “never to be repeated again” deals. Happily saying no to them and just using this app for the few little things I do. Lately I’ve noticed a big change, the data upload limit per month is next to nothing, folder restrictions have been put in place and now, once a day I get three simultaneous offers for a one time only 50% off deal as soon as I open it. Either they can no longer afford the data storage OR it’s time to get greedy like every big conglomerate and aim for permanent exponential growth. Sorry but I’m moving away from this great app. Don’t offer a free version if you’re just going to bug people all the time, perhaps even people who can’t afford the subscription..Version: 10.67.0

Great but sometimes frustratingI love Evernote, I use it everyday, but I find it frustrating that every time I switch between the Evernote app or another app on my phone, whatever note I was looking at has closed and the app has basically reset and I have to search for, and open the note all over again. This is especially frustrating when I’m presenting, using Evernote for my notes. If you guys could fix this so when I flip back or even when I reopen Evernote it would show me the note I was last on, I would give it 5 stars..Version: 8.24.6

Stop!!!Stop asking me for my iTunes password nearly EVERY SINGLE TIME I OPEN THE APP! Also why do you now allow me to keep the notes ON MY IPHONE? I don't have multiple device's I sync to so I want them always on my phone and accessible. Of course I have to pay for such a basic feature. BS! This has become a cash grab. App used to be good. Now it's annoying asking for money at every turn..Version: 8.17

Used to be incredibleThis has always been my go-to note app. Working on a note and then switching later on to another device has been the cornerstone of the way I’ve worked for the longest time. Evernote was always the king of this, and for the time it worked, it was invaluable. I happily paid for the premium subscription. But lately, since the new UI update, the thing just doesn’t work any more. Several times not, work has simply vanished. Entire documents, some which took days to complete, gone without explanation. Sometimes the title will be there, but the document will be blank. Heartbreaking isn’t the word. Nothing makes you angrier than having to re-type lengthy documents, knowing that if the service you paid for worked the way it was supposed to, you wouldn’t have to. I can’t mark it down completely, as it has certainly BEEN a great service, but even if they fix the issues, it’ll be a long, long time before I trust it again. And so my sub will be getting cancelled, and I’ll be looking for a new cross-sync note service. Any suggestions, anyone?.Version: 10.1

“Improvements” aren’t always improvementsI’m an Evernote long-hauler. User since 2012. I will say that i have wished i could easily switch to another note taking app for the past 18 months or so. SO MANY ISSUES. I used to be able to record meetings, take pictures of documents along the way and type notes seamlessly and without issue. Not anymore. The document scanner has a mind of it’s own so I’m having to take a number of scans before i get something useable. The recording tends to crash the whole app, so I’ve given up on even using that about 6 months ago. App crashing creating duplicate notes is a very common occurrence. When I reach out for help the hoops they make you jump through like “recreate the problem then send us a usage report” is NOT a good uses of my time since the problems are sporadic, so again, i give up and just work around the issue. Searching for a document has become so cumbersome and at times inaccurate, so i just give up and go through about 5 clicks to search through the directory. The new home screen is NOT at all useful or appealing to me. I should point out that i have a premium membership and primarily use Evernote on my iPad -occasionally accessing records on my iPhone and MacBook..Version: 10.9

Was great, now have to pay to useWith the free plan I can only make one notebook and only have 50 notes. I have been using this app for well over two years by now, I write everything on this app, all my story’s, lists, and more. I’ve well exceeded past the 50 notebooks limit and it would take me awhile to even delete enough to make a new one. If you’re willing to pay money for a notes app then it’s for you, but I sadly have to go with the phones built in notes app now. It also has a problem of not saving what I write sometimes, once including an entire story ideas I had wrote in a bout of inspiration (and boredom during a roadtrip). I close the app and suddenly everything I wrote, well over 5k words, gone. And i had to pay to get access to previous versions of that particular note, which means that it had kept all those words I’d have written but deleted them when I closed the app. If I didn’t have to pay to use it now, It would be a 9/10, or 5 stars here. Now I’d say it’s a 3 out of ten. Especially with all the ads trying to get me to buy a subscription to it. It’s too buggy to be paid for, especially over $10 a month? For an app? Loved the layout and everything while I was here..Version: 10.61.2

Bugs in EvernoteEvery time I switch apps, on my IPad Pro, and come back to Evernote it refreshes to the beginning of the note instead of the last place that i was at when i left the app. Which is rather annoying in long notes..Version: 8.24.6

We used to be friends......but that was before the latest update. The app keeps crashing 20 minutes in. I used to love Evernote as it allows me to write wherever I am, on iPhone, iPad, computer...but this crashing issue, which means I have to scroll Dow my 75k words each time is driving me insane. And since it crashes before it syncs, if if open the app on a different device from last time it used it, it syncs and whatever in between syncs is lost. I might just not renew my subscription and stick to Pages or Words, and email myself the last chapter I'm working on, like I used to do before. Your app used to be good. Now, maybe it is good just for quick notes for office people. But for writers, not so much. Thumbs down all the way. Fix it or lose my monthly subscription..Version: 8.3

GoodbyeI’ve used Evernote for 14 years and trusted it with over 2,000 notes, which are very important to me. But today I found my account is limited to 50 notes unless I pay immediately a subscription which is more than Microsoft Office or Adobe suite. Incredible. And no warning this was coming. I would pay this the system was not so slow it’s almost unusable and buggy. And I’m running it on a iPhone 15 Pro and a fast Windows PC. Over the years I’ve paid for annual subscriptions, without any significant benefit. But this manoeuvre is literally pulling the carpet from your feet, so I’ve lost confidence in the suppliers. We were told by a new CEO that Evernote would always offer a free subscription, as statics showed a lot of subscribers would upgrade to a paid account. But to force existing customers to upgrade without notice could mean you have slaughtered your existing loyal customer base..Version: 10.67.0

UI Overhaul on iOS is poorly testedI have subscribed and used Evernote since 2008. The recent overhaul of the User Interface is lagging horribly. While I appreciate NEW, I kinda hate it as implemented. The sync technologies are so slow that if I get out of the screen showing the bot is synchronizing, it is causing conflict copies. This is stupid and careless. Your engineering department needs to think in terms of real world and not “in a perfect world”. It makes me more inefficient as a paying subscriber - over $1209 of my own money and helped drive revenue for them by showing endless clients and family friends this great tool. Please show your users respect by developing with integrity to what the USERS need and not what UI nor UX people want inside the business, but the USERS. Responsiveness, speed and sync are super important and this current revision of the Evernote system is much slower on my iPhone11 with no other apps running and tons of free space. It is really important engineering and product management do not always go with NEW programming in replacement of stable and reliable. “New” is third or forth importance compared to reliable syncing, drawing of the II in the app and indexing.Version: 10.29

You can’t bug the app for free usersI understand that to make a profit you need to charge for a premium version. I like the format of the app, I enjoy the improvements made, but I see no need to pay premium for my uses. However recently the app have glitched and seems to be bugged. I constantly need to re launch it because I can only have access to the ‘View Only’ option to content I type and create… Please fix it or I’ll have to just resort to apple notes which is looking quite favourable at this moment.Version: 10.13

Tag filter is brokenFiltering by tags returns incorrect results. I can search and find notes with a tag, but if I filter by the same tag the note is not included in the results. I tried filtering by a tag that should have 96 notes but only 23 were included when I filtered by that tag. This app is nearly unusable if I can’t trust the search and filter features..Version: 10.12

App‘s LOADINGHave been using Evernote for years and it always works well, however, recently I can’t use it as normal as a loading page always pops up when I opened my documents. I don’t know what is that page (might be upgrade notice) since it keeps loading, for hours! And I couldn’t close it or go back to the previous page. Have tried to relaunch the app but didn’t help, basically the app was not working because of this problem..Version: 10.16

Doesn’t even save notes anymore :/This app has gone waaaay downhill. It’s been slow over the past few updates but now it’s at the point that notes don’t even save. Saved two full pages of writing, then returned to the app five minutes later and found the doc they’d been “saved” into completely blank. Came here to see if anyone else was having a similar problem and lo and behold it’s a common theme. Switching to Google Docs for good now— this app is worthless without the quick saving that used to make it so convenient. P.S.: without investing in premium you can’t see update history for notes you’ve written, which is another leg up Google Docs has on Evernote these days. 2024 update: Evernote managed to get even worse than what I last wrote in 2023. Logged back into the app to export notes I’d previously saved within to find that Evernote has imposed a 50 note limit for free users. Didn’t get any previous notification that would be happening. Tried to export the notes that I could open anyway, and I still get endless pop ups prompting me to upgrade to a paid version. Finally clicked one to see the price structure, only to get a “upgrade temporarily unavailable.” So what exactly can I do on the app now, Evernote? You want me to upgrade, but I can’t do that. Ridiculous bait and switch for an app that’s clearly on its last legs and making a desperate cash grab on its way out..Version: 10.66.0

Don't pay for premium!I have used Evernote premium for several years now. For the last few months this app has become so unstable that I find myself rarely using it anymore. I have already cancelled my subscription and have moved most of my collection to another software. The issues that I have had - and to this day I have not found a way to fix - are 1: Taking several minutes to load a note, no matter the size of the file, what the note contains, how long since last accessed, or which device I access from. Notes simply will not load. 2: I can no longer move notes to new notebooks. They are defaulting to my primary notebook but moving the note to another notebook simply will not work. 3: A few notebooks are shared with members of my work team for quickly sending information to each other. A few of my workers can't access the notebook anymore and I am unable to give them access again. No, I am not using an old device. I have the Iphone 12 pro Max and fully updated iOS. Internet at home and the office is at least 250Mb speeds, and there are no restrictions on the app through iOS settings. This app has become utterly useless and I'm annoyed that I stored so much data only to have Evernote fail for months now. Forums and other reviews tell me I not the only one having issues and apparently the devs don't seem to care..Version: 10.9

I don’t like it :(I don’t think it is for creatives or people in the creative industries... In my opinion the whole software is a bit limited, maybe a bit outdated but definitely not suitable to organise ideas nor visual content (such as mood boards, videos or perhaps music). :( The interfaces and functions across the different platforms (mobile, browser, desktop) are vary, there is no consistency, the same functions are appear and behave in a different manner (and I'm not talking about the responsive design results) which makes it confusing to use and harder to learn :( You can’t really get a clear review of a project so sharing something more complex trough Evernote is probably not very effective (from the receiver/reader side at least...but than what’s the point). The limitation of the “/notes structure” has a good side though, it makes you break things down into “topics”but after that..it just kills(my) productivity..Version: 8.7.1

Great app: A suggestionHi there, I like this app a lot. I was wondering if we could get the widget to show more of a note like the top note you take or more than just one line. I have an apple phone and it would make this app 5 stars if I could see a whole note from the widget section or however much is possible.Version: 8.4

Forcing Paid VersionTerrible idea to force longtime loyal free users to pay a steep monthly subscription fee. Very disappointing, switching to a competitor..Version: 10.62.3

Unusable junkThere was nothing that I could do to log in and make it work. My friends said they had the same problem. Deleted the app and moved on..Version: 8.24.2

Congrats on your price increasesAfter many years as a paying customer and living through your many, many painful upgrades, you’ve finally found the right combination of price and free features to make the thought of continuing to use your app completely laughable. Moving to Google Drive now. Bye!.Version: 10.66.0

Getting bloated, expensive.I’ve been a very heavy user of Evernote since 2013. I use it for everything from my daily list of things to do, right through to strategic planning for boards I run. But to be honest I probably only use it because I have hundreds of notes and the cost of changing is too high. The reality is that these days Evernote is more bloated and complicated than it needs to be. And it’s of course much more expensive that Google Docs which in reality does the same thing. (I don’t think that was available back in 2013!!) I’ll probably continue to use, but I no longer encourage others to like I used to..Version: 10.62.3

Don’t fix it if it ain’t brokenFirst they started interrupting me with constant pitches to upgrade to Premium. (I tried it. I didn’t like it. Stop asking.) Now, after I run the latest update, the app keeps crashing. Why take something that works and ruin it? Are you working with Apple or something?.Version: 10.0

Keeps suggesting to try another note typeThe app is currently unusable for me as it keeps popping up a huge green circle at the bottom telling me to try another note type. You can’t close this and it covers the menu controls. If I create another note type it goes away. But I only want text notes in my new notebook so I delete the note I don’t want, and then the circle comes back. Would not recommend this app, I just paid for it and it’s completely broken..Version: 10.3

Fed UpI don’t want Evernote, I am trying to delete it and I keep getting pushed to iTunes. I do not want this app or service. I want it deleted. I was advised to come to iTunes but there is nothing here to say how to delete this for good. Please advise asap!.Version: 10.52.2

Found a fix for issue belowI’m not a paid user which means I’m allowed to have two devices connected to my account. I ONLY use my iPhone and MacBook. When I log into one and then try to log onto the second device, the second device says that I have to unsync a device to continue using it. If I’m logging in from my iPhone, Evernote will say that my MacBook and iPhone are already connected and that I need to remove one of them to use my iPhone.. Same thing happens when I log in from my MacBook. It’ll say my iPhone and MacBook are already connected and I’ll need to remove one of them to continue on my MacBook. I ONLY have two devices that I’ve ever connected to Evernote. For some reason, Evernote registers my devices as new ones every time I switch devices. I‘ve already used my two unsyncs this month and it’s only April 10th. Don’t be fooled — free users, you’re only allowed to use one device 🙄 I’ll be on the hunt for a replacement app. Edit: I found a fix! I logged onto Evernote through my web browser and revoked access to my “three” devices. Evernote will log you out of all devices and you’ll be able to sign in again. Not sure how how long this fix will last but for now, I’m able to use both my MacBook and phone. Edit 2: Evernote has confused my 2 devices as 3 again. I’ll be on the lookout for another app..Version: 8.24.4

Can’t use anymore :(I have always really liked the way this app allows you to organise notes, but without paying for the really unaffordable subscription (I would choose a one off payment if I could) it has slowly become sort of unusable. It often glitches and creates multiple copies of notes, or freezes and deletes whole notes without backing them up (all of this while consistently connected to Wifi). Now you are only allowed 1 notebook and 50 notes, which I have obviously already exceeded given I was using it for all my study and work documents. Going to start transferring them to another app :(.Version: 10.62.1

Security Breach - Please Read! This is a long review, but please read it before considering using Evernote. I have used Evernote for several years under the impression that information was secure. However, I received an email today telling me that someone had accessed my account in Brazil. After changing my password and looking into it, it shows a list of applications and ways that my account has been accessed since I opened the account in 2013. It shows that individuals from several different countries have been able to access and have accessed my account via phone as well as through the web. My account had been accessed several times within the last two months. I have never received a notification prior to today letting me know that my account was logged into in from an unfamiliar location or device. I have had several other apps/accounts that have been hacked over the last few months and many of the passwords to these accounts were listed in Evernote. Evernote is NOT secure. They do not monitor activity on your account nor do they alert you of potential hacking. I have chosen to delete my account and reset all information that was located in..Version: 8.24.6

Annoying!Who thought it was a good idea to keep pushing you for an upgrade every time you use the app? It’s so annoying. If we want to upgrade, we are smart enough to do it. You don’t have to keep trying to trick us into upgrading, Evernote. I liked Evernote until they became so pushy..Version: 10.64.0

Going backwardsSince the last update, to fix other crashes, the App now crashes when switching between Evernote and other apps..Version: 8.19

Upgrade HarassmentToday broke the camel's back. I went to create a new note and got stuck in an endless loop of paywall demands to upgrade with no way out. This app is NOT free - you pay in $ or you pay by having to push back against what have become persistent, obnoxious and now intolerable demands to upgrade. Goodbye Everynote!.Version: 10.62.3

Use to be amazingFor 10 years this was my go to note app it was simply amazing! Now it’s frustrating and infuriating to use. It’s a non stop pop interruption to my workflow of annoying money grabs. It’s pretty ridiculous. You can’t actually go a minute without some interruption to upgrade. How are you suppose to concentrate like this? Oh I know upgrade right? Seriously I can longer actually get work done with Evernote it’s useless. They make sure you have a miserable experience until you actually cave and start to shell out. Then forget actually doing anything useful anymore. ‘“ oh you want write a note, sure write it but it’s $14 a month to save it”. “Oh you want your app to remain open longer then a minute? Sure $79 a year”. “ oh you want to breathe while using our app sure $149 a year”. I’m exaggerating just a bit but wouldn’t it be better just to do away with the free version. Or do you just prefer bugging people incessantly until they give in. Why not just offer a free trial and then purchase only. At least you won’t seem like some seedy, money hungry organization that only made an app to squeeze as much out of people. (I realize this is the modern business model so I guess they are just doing what they should maybe). Evernote use to be great you could tell someone actually put effort and care into designing something they were proud of. Now it’s just an irritating mess of pop ups demanding money for functions that used to be free..Version: 10.66.0

Deleted the app after 10 years of using itToday I’ve unfortunately deleted Evernote and exported my notes to the native Apple notes app. Unfortunately the decision of limiting the number of Evernote notes to 50 notes in the free version is no good and the pricing is ridiculous for the paid version. Good luck Evernote, tough way ahead..Version: 10.67.0

Needs improvementGood app for sharing notes, but I’m continually frustrated by the inability to synch between devices. We paid for a subscription to get more devices added so my husband could add to the shopping list but every time it does it duplicates the note and causes more issues than it solves. I’ll be downgrading from the paid version because it’s not worth it. If you offer multiple devices and synching it needs to be able to cope with it not continually glitch..Version: 10.13

Good until one incidentThe app was all good in the beginning, working fine, no bugs and i had no issues but then super recently i was adding progress pictures onto something and i had been putting daily progress pictures on for nearly 3 months and then all of a sudden it said: “note size too big, saving error” or something along the lines of that. the next thing i know i click on the note after i refresh and none of the progress pictures were there. i thought “oh well i can refresh it because it will only not save the picture i just put in and that will be fine because i still have the photo on my photos app” but no, it deleted everything. every single progress photo just because my note was big. overall i would say the app is good or you could even say great but that incident really made me incredibly sad that i had lost all of my progress images as i do not keep them in my photos app for storage limitation purposes. from a 4.5 to a 3..Version: 10.44

Massive Headaches with latest version ...Cannot save Notes and am consequently losing a lot of my work. SO annoying! I’ve reported this, but so far no help has been forthcoming..Version: 10.0.4

How to take a nice simple app and ruin it through greed and complexityI’ve been using this for 10 years, and I’ve watched it decline in functionality over time as they’ve tried to add features - which only serve to make it harder to do the simple things, and then force me to pay for them. The most recent update is the final straw, every time I open the app - it spams me with a full screen aggressive advertisement for the paid product, all I want to do is add something to my grocery list dudes. I actually was a paid subscriber for about 5 years and the experience doesn’t get any better, trust me. It was always ‘upgrade this and that.’ Note taking apps should not cost you money. It is the most basic form of app. These guys should have stopped developing 5 years ago and moved onto something else.Version: 8.24.6

LiesIt says I get 50 free notes but it cut me off at 38.Version: 10.65.1

Buggy mess.Create a new note under a tag, save it, go back... note is not there. Restarting the app does not display the note either. Unsynced untitled notes are common. It’s sad to see the quality of this app take a dive. Not worth paying a subscription for..Version: 10.0

Customer ServiceIf you are looking for a company that has accessible customer service, look elsewhere. For many people, we don't realize how important customer service is until we are in a dire pickle, but, let me be the one to tell you, it is VERY important to have the option to speak with someone during those times of need. Evernote, on the other hand, doesn't seem to believe in customer accessibility or satisfaction. When having an issue with my billing account, I attempted to call the customer service number given on my bank statement only to be transferred to a voicemail telling me to leave my email address. The only form of communication they offer is through email or online chat. While that is great for younger people, there are other generations who would prefer speaking with an actual person to help deescalate the issue before it gets out of hand. It is also in their policy to not give refunds. My experience today was joining an online chat, being told there was nothing they could do for the extra $64 in charges they cost me, and to have a great day. I will be checking to make sure that the companies I choose to give my business to have a phone number I can call from now on to know they actually care about their customers. It also says something about a site that has almost as many 1 stars as 5 stars. Thanks for nothing, Evernote..Version: 8.3

They are “increasing prices” without saying how much.I just got an email today saying my subscription price will “change next month.” I’ve been with Evernote since 2011. I get the subscription prices go up, seems like every single app or subscription has been doing this lately. But don’t send emails where you say it will “change” but don’t bother to indicate how much so I can decide before my next billing period if I want to keep the subscription or downgrade etc. All you say iTunes will provide more info but come on, it makes no difference matter how I’m subscribed. You know what you’re going to be charging. Honestly I feel like I should just unsubscribe before you bill me some unknown amount that is probably really high as you fail to disclose it . It does zero help to just tell me it’s changing. The email states you are letting us know “before he next billing date.” But.. this vague notice is not helpful in the least. There are quite a few issues with this app as stated in many poor reviews after updated. I’ve overlooked because I still wanted to stay with Evernote. You’ve left me no reasonable option here except to cancel my paid subscription after 11 years..Version: 10.45

Once was great, increasingly becoming a debacleI’ve used EN for about 10 years and have hundreds of notebooks and thousands of note in it. It’s great for multimedia note and the synchronisation across desktop app, web browser and iOS but it is increasingly full of bugs and I try to avoid any updates as it’s lost functionality, increasingly crashes or freezes, loses attachments to notes or just ‘spins’. It’s a real shame to see what was a highly functional and useful tool become a bug ridden mess in the past year; all whilst the subscription cost has skyrocketed. Their customer support is a joke and usually only respond with a vague generic response pointing the online forums for answers. I’m yet to find a single app that has all of the functionality of EN had but given the unreliability of EN and the data I’ve been losing, I scan the alternatives every few weeks in hope..Version: 10.57.2

No dark themeThe last update has a slight improvement in design but it misses what so many people have been asking for years: a dark theme! There are very few apps for reading/writing that don’t support a dark theme in 2018. Even if I have been a evernote paying costumer for years I now only use for storage and for writing on my phone I use Drafts which is also much faster to load. There is just no excuse for the lack of dark theme, Evernote keeps promising since a long time but it never happens. I used to love Evernote but it’s just unusable for those who have care for their eyes (everyone should!) if not for quick consultation. I’d never spend long hours on it and I am looking for alternatives as I won’t be anymore a customer if a dark theme fails to be implemented by the end of the year. I have been waiting enough years for it..Version: 8.14

Basic user moving on for better free alternativesI liked the app but it grew to complex. All I want to do is take notes and see them in the app and the computer. Since Evernote wants to overcharge customers to achieve such a simple functionality I as a free user I am moving on to other free apps. Too expensive now. Thanks for the few years where you provided an OK service. Merry Christmas 2023 and hopeful careful planning 2024..Version: 10.62.2

Best app you can findI have been using Evernote on my PC, Mac and iPhone for over a year. Evernote is the reason I bought an iPad - that's the best review I can give it in my opinion. I used it for all of my University course notes in my final year - in fact I hardly made a single paper note. I use it for note making, reminders and for keeping those documents that you occasionally need but can never seem to find. For example, when I buy things that have their user manuals in the form of a PDF file on a CD, I upload the manual to Evernote. Last year I switched to the paid version mainly because I wanted to be able to upload more file types but also too support development of this amazing app. The free version is fine for 99% of the time though. One last thought - the iPad app is well laid out and a pleasure to use. Update - after updating to new iOS version app I unusable. Locks up if you try to delete a note and requires restarting. Then the deleted note reappears. Great app ruined by careless update. Will be cancelling subscription and moving to OneNote..Version: 10.1

What were they thinking?Premium user here. Tried to navigate around the new update and am so frustrated with it all. Cant customize the left hand menu - it always opens to all notes. Speaking of the search function! Didn’t they have any beta testers? The search is horrible! You put in a term and it gives suggestions, a few tags. It not a way to narrow to all notes with that term quickly. To search properly you have to use search language which requires a lot of extra typing. This version had made tags worthless as you either have to keep entering searches with each tag or you enter a keyword and a list of tags that include that keyword pops up but you can only select one tag at a time. Everything takes more clicks to find something, do something, or import something. They have also removed the ability to assign tags in the web clipper. Not sure of what they had in mind with this update, but this version is worthless for my purposes. I have over 2000 recipes in a notebook which are organized by tags. By removing the clipper ability to assign tags and the search filter by multiple tags this is pretty useless. Any suggestions on a replacement? Is there a way to restore to old version? If I wasn’t already invested with so many files I would definitely look for another note keeping app. They ruined it!.Version: 10.1

Cannot update ?It keeps telling me I should update but when I pop in App Store, it shows “no longer exist”... And the indicator is still there with a “1” on the right top of App Store..can anyone tell me what is going on....Version: 8.15

Terrible support, do not botherIm a long, long term user of Evernote and have loved it for a long time (since 2013) . However, I’ve run into issues with my subscription and I cannot explain how truly impenetrable accessing support is. After days of back and forth submitting tickets (no chat or phone number available)- and submitting all my account details on request, I’ve received an email telling me to check their “handy online help and learning resources”. I’ve now been ignored for over three weeks and no one is getting back to me. It’s an expensive service so I’d warn against purchasing the sub until their support processes are improved less you end up like me. It appears that they don’t care about their customers, they just care about maximising profits. I’ve lost my money - don’t lose yours!!!.Version: 10.62.0

They broke it!Ok, so I’ve been a premium user with thousands of notes, and have been for years, and have recommended Evernote to everyone I know (to the extent that everyone at my last two workplaces is convinced that they pay me for marketing—or should, at any rate). But the iPhone app really has become quite unusable since the update a few months ago. Not only does it take eons to sync across devices (which it somehow suddenly can’t seem to be able to do anymore, despite having been able to for years), my biggest problem is the scanning. I used to use it extensively for scanning physical copies of documents i was working on. But not only have I not been able to do that (whatever they have done to tweak that, i now have to take ten photographs of a page to get something that is not blurred beyond legibility), what is infinitely worse is that there is only a 50% chance that any pictures you might have scanned will make it to Evernote. I.e. you can spend 30 minutes trying to take unblurred pictures of a few physical documents you are working with, Press ok, and half the time, find that the pictures have simply disappeared. I have stopped using the app on my iPhone altogether (because it is literally unusable), and am waiting for the day that developers decide to break the desktop app too..Version: 10.5.1

Ridiculous free limitI’ve been with Evernote since 2008, sometimes paying for a subscription when I need it and sometimes not. Now they’ve set the free tier to max 50 notes, which is ridiculous, and the app has at least two pop ups every time I open it for “an offer you won’t be able to get again”. After 15 years, I’ll be exporting my notes and going elsewhere..Version: 10.62.2

Getting worseI’ve used Evernote for 10 years but this new iteration doesn’t convince me, it’s extremely slow in syncing between devices and it’s now missing the possibility of assigning tags to web clips while creating them that was one of the most important features for me, please guys bring it back !.Version: 10.0

New Update ruined my experienceI have been an evernote user since 2014 and have a lot of my notes and information inside my evernote and I have always enjoyed using it. However, I recently upgraded to a new phone and thus erased my data on my old phone. I log in and all is well for about 15 seconds. I try to open a note and it tells me I have to unsync a device as there are only 2 devices that can be connected. I tell myself no problem, let me unsync my old phone, it unsyncs, and I get prompted to re log in. For another 20 seconds I get prompted again, this time it says I have one unsync left, I do the same procedure again and I relog in. I am able to look at my notes again...for 15 seconds where I am no longer able to unsync a device that I UNSYNCED TWICE. I am now unable to use the app and unable to contact support because I’m not a premium or business user. Which completely sucks, for 6 years I have used this app and suddenly I can’t and there is no support. Support team should available for everyone. Horrible user experience..Version: 10.2

Almost makes me want to uninstallI want to start by saying I have been a loyal Evernote user since its conception; I have always loved it and never had an issue (although I wasn't a fan when they limited the free version app use to only two devices, but I got over it). Since the "all-new exciting look" upgrade I've had nothing but trouble. Lagging, crashing, you name it, it's happening. I actually cringe now when I realise I have to open the app to look at one of my notes because I know how long it's going to take and it often deters me. I just don't know how you could get it so wrong after so many years of having it right..Version: 8.16.2

Crashing and refreshingI have an iPhone 6 Plus using iOS 12. The old version of Evernote and the new update refreshes the page every time I switch between apps. For example, if I am working on a note, but need to check an email regarding some points, when I return to the Evernote note refreshes the page to ‘all notes’. I have to find my notebook, and then my note and open it again every time. This has still not been fixed and is very time consuming and frustrating. Why can’t it remember my place? The app often crashes when finding notebooks or looking for notes. It’s very unstable..Version: 8.16

Good but not great...I’m struggling to get the most out of pdf markup. I chose Evernote over OneNote because you can copy and paste from pdfs, but the annotation experience in onenote is far and away superior (please review and emulate the experience). Here’s how I think you could fix it: 1. add an undo function! 2. Add an eraser function - the current way of highlighting the annotation I want to erase is woeful, it means the input gets confused if you want to write next to an existing markup 3. Add bulk select and move - instead of highlighting a path when it’s clicked on, this would allow writing over existing annotations. 4. Make the highlighter a different palette option with its own nib size, I want to highlight in fat in a designated colour, and write thinly in black or blue! 5. Make it more Apple Pencil friendly- if I’m writing with the pencil, then make a mark, if I’m moving with my finger/two fingers then move the page, alternatively, give me a pop up menu when I long press. I love the feature of the inserted page at the front of a doc showing all the marked up sections - it’s a killer feature, but the markup process is so painful, it’s almost unusable..Version: 8.11.1

Broken with updateThe fancy bar across the bottom (iPad Pro-latest os) obscures the search options so it is basically unusable.... gone to 3* because randomly that disappears and it becomes usable again. I have the original (official Apple) Smart Keyboard. Don’t know if that is associated. THIS issue below drives me nuts. Once you find your notebook by search. There is no way to workout what stack you are in? I don’t understand? So... the feature I feel I really need for this to work properly is... having found a note.... to be able to quickly identify which NOTEBOOK and WHICH STACK it is i. Likewise when you open a notebook there should be an easy way to know which stack it is in. I feel it is like a jigsaw without that info being clearly available. If it is there, well I am not seeing it. Perhaps I am thick, but then, I am sure I won’t be alone in that!!!.Version: 10.1

Very disappointedI have been using this app for almost a decade. Never had problem until I found out that I have to pay150 bucks for annual subscription to make a new note. I just read the recent review below and I think the management of company should know they had made a bad decision. Still giving 3stars for the amount of time I spent with this app. It’s a sad day becuase I have to say bye to this app today..Version: 10.64.0

Closing & opening accountsEvernote auto creates accounts if you click on an email you have stored in your phone. You can’t close accounts easily It won’t allow you to take down notes and copy and paste it into other documents unless you pay - that’s how they rope you in. You can’t get support for your issues with your account or speak to a live chat when you have issues so again only discourse is to pay for the app. Things that should be easy to correct create too many head aches. You never get the help you need. Either avoid the headache or pay for the service the free option is all set for you to need to pay. If you want simple note taking app without or the integrations and headaches you don’t need choose otherwise.Version: 10.35

If you value your notes: STAY AWAYUpdate: after spending 4 hours transferring my work over to OneNote, I've discovered that even MORE of my work than I thought has been completely lost. This app's issues started over two months ago and no fix has been offered. My advice is to jump ship immediately. Don't risk losing valuables material, this app/developer cannot be trusted. ... This was my FAVOURITE app but with the latest update it has basically completely stopped working. My notes have completely stopped syncing and even SAVING. I've made SO MANY important changes that I've discovered are completely GONE. Entire notes have completely disappeared. Please fix this asap. I'm going to have to switch to another app in the meantime, this is completely UNACCEPTABLE. I thought this app was solid and rely on it HEAVILY. Please please please please fix. [Update: Nevermind, don't bother. I've just checked other reviews and people have been having these same issues SINCE OCTOBER. This is a catastrophic failure of the app. Mistakes happen but something this big should have been fixed IMMEDIATELY. Restore the previous version if you have to. I'm switching to OneNote. You try to support smaller companies but in the end you just need something you can TRUST. Such a shame.].Version: 10.2

Used to be goodJust a few weeks ago, it was good. I go today to record a note - pictures or anything, just a simple text note - and I had huge problems. I got maybe 3 sentences down when it suddenly closed the keyboard. A problem I've seen a few years before. It then proceeded to close the keyboard every 30 sec thereafter after it was reopened. However, the back up only captured the first 3 sentences and nothing else. Those 3 sentences represented at most maybe 10% of the note. Maybe 5%. So I lost at least 90% of the note. I'm not sure I can even capture the detail now. Upgrades typically are a subscriber's nightmare. I bought a license in the latter part of 2013 almost 9 years). I've watched things shrink (ie. number of devices (waiting for them to actually take it down to a single device at this point)) while other things have expanded. Not exactly all are really useful. But paring down number of devices is legal extortion. When/if it comes down to one device, I'm gone. I'll start searching for another and transfer the notes I want to keep and delete the rest along with this app..Version: 10.34.1

Massive bugLatest version 8.5 on new iphone 8, all notes between July 2016 and now missing even though folders from that period do sync .. just show as empty .. data still intact on older versions of evernote on other devices and MAC app , so seems a 8.5 / iphone 8 issue . Unusable ..Version: 8.5

What have you done?I am a long time user. Loved the previous user experience - but this update is style over substance. Unusable. Features have disappeared - so for example I can't look at all notes in a stack, am forced to either view the note on the left of the screen or full screen and it's therefore slower to move between notes. The app no longer picks up the title of a note from your calendar (which was always really handy). Overall the app is more sluggish. There is a permanent toolbar on the right of the screen that's unnecessary. A real step backwards. Shows a real lack of insight into how users value and use the app. Evernote - please reconsider...also, please stop releasing small, inconsequential app updates to get rid of current poor reviews and ratings....Version: 10.0.4

New version is bad designNew version hard to use,too many bugs..Version: 10.0.4

Great new design, awful qualityDid Evernote even test this app before they released it? I can’t believe how poor quality it is. I’ve tried to save an image note several times and it fails every time, and then the app ceases functioning after each time I try. I like the new design. I just wish it actually functioned..Version: 10.0

How has it gotten worseI’ve had and used Evernote for years at this point, because I found it to be a good note-keeping app. I’ve even upgraded to premium a few times. I did not like the change to the whole subscription-based model, but that’s fine. What’s not fine is how the app has somehow gotten worse since. I only have evernote on my iphone and my ipad, with most use on the phone and very infrequent on the ipad. Cross-device syncing isn’t the issue. But every now and again the app makes multiple MULTIPLE copies when I make a new note, because of syncing problems? I tolerated that, because whatever, I can just delete the half a dozen extra copies. What has genuinely p*ssed me off now is I had typed out a note the previous night and today it’s gone. I didn’t delete it, it’s not in the trash folder, and I even saw it as a thumbnail on the main page under ‘recent notes’ until it just. Disappeared. It wasn’t a short note, it was a draft for something I’m working on and now it’s gone into the ether because ???? How are you going to pester people to pay subscription for your note app yet decrease in quality like this while you do. Yeah, no, I’m not happy..Version: 10.50.3

An app holding your notes as hostage for you to subscribeI have subscribed to Evernote for more than two years. The subscription expired a month ago, and I was in the middle of deciding whether I should subscribe for one more year since I did not use it that much last year. Today, I quickly noted down some information on Evernote on the computer that I would need before I went out. Then I was at a store, opening Evernote on my iPhone, a page showed up to let me choose one subscription method. Otherwise, it would not let me open the app to look at my needed information. I tried a few times, and I could not enter the app without subscribing no matter what else I did. This is simply furious. I knew that if I went back home and opened my computer, I could unlink other devices to open it on my iPhone. But when I needed it for an emergency, there is nothing that I can do with the iPhone alone to even take a look at the note without subscribing. I understood that they wanted me to subscribe, and they have a policy for limited devices. But the way they don’t give you an option to unlink devices at your phone is simply a strategy to hold your notes hostage in case of any emergency. For this reason, I will not subscribe to this app anymore, and I am currently looking for another reliable app to transfer all my information..Version: 10.22

Horrible Update and User InterfaceUpdate: Tired of Constantly getting Duplicate Conflict Errors in my Notes!! Update: Now the App Note Page Won’t close to save my Notes that I Type in! I have to copy them, close the app, open the app, and then paste them back in! Absolutely Horrible! Still using Paid Version! How can this be worse after my last bad review?!?!?! Older Review: I have used Evernote for as long as I can remember. Always paid version. Now it’s so bloated and unusable due to this “Read Only” and “Edit” issue. Also trying to simply track down my notes in order of “Recently Updated” to a big mess of searching for a simple note quickly. I Will have to start looking for a replacement app. Such a shame. I really don’t want to have to transfer all of my years of Notes and Material. But I will have to if the developers do not go back to a simple, dependable, and User Friendly note app. Update: Developers are not reading our reviews or ignoring them. Very disappointed. You can scroll through all the most recent reviews and see how disgruntled customers are with new updates. Please read and pay attention to our feedback. No customers equals no business..Version: 10.47

Premium Subscription Buyer BewareI’m giving this review because over the past 5 years, I’ve been a loyal, power user of the Evernote tool. Short of some ‘buggy issues’ in the latest updates (which is normal), the Evernote tool is hands down one of the most effective, well designed, and intentionally planned tools for business. Because of the treatment is subscription upgrades across devices, I ended up with two accounts being billed on separate devices on 3 separate occasions. To stop the duplicate billing, I cancel one or more subscriptions to fix the issue. It has cost me upwards of $35/month for a $7.99 monthly subscription. I just cancelled again and am a Premium subscriber through August. Because I cancelled, however, the pop ups for upgrade have made the app unusable. I have a paid subscription through August and can’t use it because I hit a payment gateway every time use the app I have a premium subscription to through August. The app is amazing. If you plan to be a Premium subscriber to sync to multiple devices however, Buyer Beware. $35/month for a one seat license for a $7.99/month subscription you can’t use is steep by anyone’s standards. When I quit the app 4 different times to try to connect with someone to help with the issue, I discovered there’s no customer service connection offered to fix the issue..Version: 10.36

Useless on iPadI downloaded Evernote because my previous note taking programme deleted all my notes and the company have been no help whatsoever in recovering them / finding out what happened. Evernote is fantastic on a laptop, but is useless on an iPad. The major thing people use Evernote for is revision notes. To not be able to draw using an Apple Pencil and an iPad renders the app completely useless. The notes are boring and uninviting, and I can’t draw any diagrams on it. I would love if the programmers made it possible to utilise the iPad pro’s functions on Evernote, and if they do I will go straight back to using it. But until then there is no point as a number of other apps deal with note taking for students much better..Version: 8.16.4

Good but FlawedSecurity level is low. Password protection is almost nonexistent..Version: 8.17

Missing basic featuresI used to use Evernote as it had a system for my notes both personal and work related. I could store information that I needed to reference later, etc. However it is not what I consider to be a well rounded app. As no app that makes you have to use another is considered all that great. Not being able to create reoccurring reminders is just ridiculous. This is a very basic feature for a task app to have. I simply stopped using the app altogether because I had to use other sources to make tasks and be reminded of especially when they are monthly or weekly repeating. I even periodically login just to see if this feature has been added, it hasn’t. The app really needs updated to meet this basic need, and no emailing repeating tasks to the user is not sufficient at all. As not every one is on their email constantly some only check certain times a day based on their schedules. The whole point of having an app that features task or to do items is to have push notifications for you to get reminded of the task or even projects you need to get done. No one should have to go in and manually set them up for every single day when they are repeating..Version: 10.6

Deadly flawReally loved Evernote until today. I have been using it every day since 2011 and have even considered upgrading to premium recently. However, today really changed my view of Evernote. Apparently have been getting sign ins from hackers in India and Ukraine for months and was never notified or warned. I’ve turned on 2 factor authentication now so in theory that will stop it, but I feel very taken advantage of. Probably they got whatever data they wanted to get already since they’ve been signing in repeatedly from all over the globe. Apparently this is also a common issue from what I’ve read online in the last 30 minutes. So if you’re reading this, check your sign in history because up until today I was never notified. Even though I’ve loved it for a long time I’m thinking about switching to OneNote where I’m fairly confident the notifications and security settings are more professional. I’ve always noticed some annoying bugs and UI problems that I was willing to overlook but now I’m realizing that some of the laziness in design philosophy may actually be dangerous, and at least for me it’s an unforgivable problem. Update: i keep coming back to use it for little things I haven’t fully transferred. Every single time you open it you get a banner to upgrade or buy something. Every. Single. Time. It really interrupts the flow of thinking..Version: 10.59.0

Bye EvernoteIt’s been a nice time so far! With 50 note limit I had to say bye but hate to do so!.Version: 10.62.2

Multiple copies of same noteThe latest Evernote update (with iOS 14.0) makes multiple copies of the same note, which I find difficult to follow and manage. I’m not sure if I like it. Can anyone guide me to a similar application? Thank you!.Version: 10.0

Version 10 is a bugfestThis new version has so many bugs it should be pulled. It is slow to load. Every time I edit a note it creates six or seven copies of the same note. The keyboard constantly disappears. Deleted notes reappear when the app is opened again. And those are just the bugs in basic functions. I’m afraid to try anything complex. The old app was growing stale, but this one Is D.O.A..Version: 10.0

175 seconds to access a note since new versionI've been using this application for many years now and have recommended it many times since with great enthousiasm. Since last version, I am extremely disappointed. I own a pretty recent iphone model. Waiting time from opening the app to actually see a note.... 175 seconds.. almost 3 minutes. 45 seconds to open the app, 40 for search to find the note, 90 to actually open the note... more or least, EVERY SINGLE TIME. Exasperating, to say the least..Version: 10.0

Terrible updateI love Evernote and have been a premium user for years. But recently it’s updated and is really hard to use on my phone. I try to go to my notes and scroll down to get to one and it keeps jumping all over the place, making it near-impossible to actually open the note I want. I also hate the new initial screen - it was way more useful to be able to open the app straight to my list of notes, why make me go through an extra stage before I can get to them? Update March 2022 - after using this app for 10 years I am now on the verge of switching to something else. It is so buggy and frustrating to use now that it makes me want to throw my phone out the window. For the love of god, PLEASE make the next update fix the bug where it doesn’t save the note you’ve just spent hours writing!.Version: 10.29

WarningHad been using for a couple of years but last update also wiped out all my notes..Version: 8.16.6

Shambolic update DO NOT Trust saves will happenI have this program for many years now and pay for the basic upgrade. In the past it was a solid if unbecoming workhorse but the latest update to improve the ‘pretty’ rather than functionality has left me fuming. On my iPad Pro the app constantly crashes without warning. Sometimes without even saving that already typed in. Not so much an issue if I am just rambling on ideas but I would never trust it with serious information right now. On top of that it simply does not work as it should with basic stuff. The autocapitalise function for the start of a sentence no longer works. Neither of the list modes function correctly either. Hitting return does not open another bullet. Even when it does the first letter of the sentence is not capitalised. In the past I could quickly change the notebook to a different one when starting a new note. Now the system has been played with so I have to make an extra step for no good reason to get to the notebook list (used to just be a straight drop down) The point of the program was its simplicity. Seems though someone is determined to take away its main USP EDIT: Still crashing without warning despite the issue being raised some time ago. Also no longer reliably uploads revisions causing frustration when you end up with conflicts..Version: 10.5.1

The redesign has screwed the appWhat a b****y shame. The redesign has so many faults. Slow sync updating (why?); text preview in sidebar is inaccurate; default text is way too small to be accessible across devices and there is no way to change the default size without going into each note, which, when you have over 500 in just one of your folders, is impossible; double tap for a full stop doesn’t work; web capture doesn’t allow tags to be inserted when capturing, it has to be done afterwards; clicking/pressing ‘done’ when creating a new note usually has to be repeated several times before anything happens on screen. Literally, the only good thing I can say about the redesign is that finding and inserting internal links has been made easier, everything else about my work flow is slower, more confusing and buggy. I literally have no choice with my current research but to keep on with the app for now. But I cannot begin to express how disappointed and frustrated I am that an app I have loved and worked with for years has been so badly screwed up. Please fix and update ASAP..Version: 10.0.4

BEWAREEDIT: twice this week, work on my iPad has been completely and utterly lost. It hasn’t automatically saved. It’s not synced across devices, it’s crashed and the whole lot has been lost. Twice. Evernote has gotten more and more frustrating in a myriad of little ways over the years; chunky, not clean flowing when closing and opening the app and returning to documents I’m working on etc. But the new update isn’t giving the shortcuts when hard pressing the screens on my new iPhone SE. And I just lost about 21/2 hours of work on the iPad version because it wasn’t automatically saving my info, then froze... you’re killing me Evernote. I’m giving it till the end of the year, but I’m not hopeful. Argh!.Version: 10.0.4

Finally cut the cordI’ve used Evernote since 2012, and have just used it as a basic note keeper to share text across devices. Restrictions upon restrictions kept getting added but I was fine logging in and out occasionally between a tablet, phone and desktop. Finally my account seems to have caught into a loop of being unable to sign in or out with a pop up begging for me to pay. I’ve just decided to stop using the app and began taking all my notes on Keep instead. The groveling is frankly kind of sad for such an established brand. This is a shareable notepad, not an enterprise service. There is no shortage of apps that function as basic as this that are entirely free. Evernote should function as a Freemium service without the ridiculous constant begging for subscriptions and locking people out of their accounts. The device limit is just idiotic and completely kills the most basic purpose of the app. I would classify it as deceptive practice. This is not an Editors Choice app and does not deserve the title. Anyone needing to jot notes between devices should just download OneNote or Google Keep..Version: 10.32.2

Used to Praise this appThis app has been a well loved staple, it’s been an easy to use and search place to create multiple lists. I’ve amassed an extensive restaurant guide for the greater Phoenix and Tucson areas. It’s my go to assist for passwords, copy and paste text for my work. Suddenly, it logs me off. Every time I exit. Irritating, but not enough to change this well ingrained habit and love for the functionality of this app. It literally is a cornerstone of information I’ve stored for things I want to remember but don’t. When I log in, I have an iPad and the iPhone 6s Plus. Haven’t upgraded or changed devices, yet now my phone is being recognized as a different device. Only one phone. Don’t want to unsync the iPad because it has a keyboard attached. So I’ve been unsyncing the same ONE iPhone and yet the next day it saw it as a different iPhone, after the app installed a thing where you cannot unsync more than two times was enforced. Couple months later, and I am LOCKED out. It won’t let me even sign in with the previously approved devices. So now, I’m not allowed to access my personal notes because you want a fee from me? Maybe I can log in on the iPad next month and transfer all of my notes to an app which won’t my data hostage for a few dollars. You’ve lost a loving user of over 6 years..Version: 8.24.4

All or nothing subscription not affordableThe change to a 1 tier “all or nothing” subscription makes Evernote uneconomic. Shame as I had been a customer for years before they made this change. The free option is practically useless for private use, a medium tier is desperately required to make this app a viable option for non-power users..Version: 8.13

Does not save!Beware that the app has serious issues on ios devices. I does not save anymore..Version: 10.2

Doesnt standout from OneNoteDoesnt offer any features above that of Microsoft’s free OneNote, but charges $10 a month. Hard pass. These “Editor’s Awards” really starting to lack in legitimacy..Version: 10.23

Much slowerNot as responsive as it was before the major upgrade. It takes a long time to launch and search seems confused at times. For quick notes I’ll have to revert to the iPhone Notes app (hopefully they’ll sort it out)..Version: 10.0.4

Bugs, bugs and bugsLooks like leaving a bad review is the only way you might get some help with this app. The ‘help’ page is filled with generic articles on how to use the app, and the ‘talk to support’ option just puts you into a chat with an AI that links you back to those same generic articles over and over. So, here we are … Don’t know what’s happened recently but something is broke. Every time I open the app it just shows me the previews of the notes but won’t let me open them until it loads something (still not too sure what that is but I’m getting real familiar with the loading bar). Tried restarting my iPad and now it doesn’t even get that far. I just get a black screen with the logo in the centre. I’ve opened it with and without a wifi connection, and even left it for 20 minutes hoping there was just an incredibly large package it had to download in the background, but still nothing. Really hoping someone from this app starts undoing whatever they did to break this. Or else comes back to me with some kind of fix..Version: 10.52.1
