Evernote - Notes Organizer for Positive User Reviews

I love itI have used this app many times in the past, with my new job I decided to go premium and I am happy. Please give Skitch some love Evernote team.Version: 8.3

Lost photos I uploaded for recipesI used to love Evernote until today. I bragged to all of my friends how great Evernote. I use it for many things including as a recipe storage. I am using Evernote basic. However, today the App lost 2 of my recipes. I’m very frustrated. I had a special pasta recipe I was going to make with my son. I saw the photo of the recipe on my phone and when I clicked on it and opened it up the photo disappeared. I can’t seem to get it back in any way. I think this is a terrible thing to have happened. I tried to organize my recipes electronically and pitched the hard copies. Now I have lost that recipe and another. I clicked on another recipe from the app and that photo disappeared as I opened it. I think I took these photos in 2015. The app worked fine for a recipe photo I took in 2017 this morning but it losing older photos. This is unacceptable. I stopped opening recipe notes and went to the webpage on my Mac to open other recipes and the browser version worked fine with the other pasta recipes I added the same day. But now I have wasted an hour trying to no avail to restore the image. Because I’m a basic user, I’m not even able to email customer support. The app appears to be garbage right now if it loses photos while the web browser does not. I’m so disappointed..Version: 8.7.1

The new version continues to improveIf you are here on the App Store, you’ve likely seen articles elsewhere about the mixed reviews which 2020’s v10 generated. That came out in September and was the first app running on the new architecture that Evernote had been working on for two years. There were previous features missing and some very vocal power users with the biggest megaphones derided it heavily. Since then, the Evernote team have released more updates in 4 months that they were able to do in the previous 2 years. Many of the missing features have returned and new features have also appeared. For the first time in 3 years, Evernote is a fertile ground for innovation once again..Version: 10.4

Go to note taking appWith Evernotes apps across so many platforms it is by far my go to app for note taking. I don't have to save and a quick tap and i have the photo or video recording with my notes. I used evernote the other day at work while instructing and could snapshot an error my student made and show her in out debrief! Evernote also has excellent customer service. A quick message in the app and a great response within 12 hrs and at the time i was only a free user! I have upgraded since to premium and highly recommend others to try it out also..Version: 7.9

Worth every penny.I’ve been a paid Evernote subscriber since 2018 and it has been well worth the investment. The amount of time and energy that Evernote’s developers have poured into this app is next level. They are constantly updating, innovating, and improving it and it is a pleasure to use. I love the new tasks feature in particular and the new dashboard. I can’t wait until there are more widget options, but I’m sure they will be right around the corner. Thank you so much for everything you do, Evernote team. I really appreciate it..Version: 10.13

A fantastic lab notebookAs a scientist I use Evernote as a lab notebook because it is secure and syncs seamlessly between my devices. It has advanced features like OCR, it is easy to tag and organize notes, to share them and to add links to other notes. I also like that I can attach every type of file into the note. The only minor annoyance for me is that you can't have nested folders of notebooks. I can group multiple notebooks within a "folder", but I can't move a folder of notebooks to within an existing folder. I tested out a number of different purpose-built electronic lab notebooks and Evernote was by far the best option at that time. I recommend it to others and also use it extensively for my own personal use to record everything from receipts to important notes and documents. I highly recommend it..Version: 8.3

Amazing customer service and great study toolI love this app for taking notes for my classes. I’ve since used it as a weekly and monthly planner making organizing classes so much easier. I love that I can have all my class notes and planners all in one spot. It’s easy to navigate through as well. The formatting for taking notes makes it easy to follow along in class without having to worry about organizing my notes. I use the class notes template and there’s even a section for questions which I’ve found very helpful as I tend to think of things during lecture but usually at inappropriate times. This template allows me to quickly jot down thoughts so I can ask the professor after class. I’ve only just started to use this app but I’m sure I’ll be using this note taking app well into graduate school. I had to use cengage for one of my college classes and it offered a 6month free trial and after trying to redeem that I ended up being charged for the full annual price. I reached out to customer service and got a response almost immediately with a refund and they honored the free trial as well. I’m beyond happy with this fast service and doing the right thing, I fully expected to be charged the full amount. The only thing I’d love to see is different highlighter colors!.Version: 8.24.3

Desktop App Needs Better SecurityI absolutely love Evernote. I’ve been a premium member since 2012. One of my biggest complaints that they still have not addressed is the security issues. Specifically relating to the desktop app. The mobile version allows you to set a time that it automatically logs you out. Unfortunately, the desktop doesn’t. That leaves your content vulnerable to people who wish to access your content without your permission should you step away from your computer and forget to log out. Yes I know I could use a screensaver to achieve a similar layer of security but that blocks me from everything on my computer. I don’t know why this is possible on the mobile app but not in the desktop. Also, Evernote does not allow you to set additional layers of security for notes or notebooks. You can encrypt text in a note but it doesn’t save that password in an admin settings area. So if you forget or lose the password you lose access to your content. These are sloppy and unrefined security issue if you ask me. I believe Evernote should address these issues and by doing so it can add tremendous value to their overall product..Version: 8.24

Wonderful app—watch consistency limited and spotty.Love the app. Interface is amazing. Connectivity superb. However, there are only 20 spaces for notes available on the watch, and when you have 200 or so, that’s just not convenient. Also, though I have not submitted a customer service request and that may negate many individuals opinions and the value they place in this review, this is something that has manifested through multiple Apple Watch updates: the app on the watch will simply open up and show no notes. None whatsoever. I have tried syncing the app, I have tried updating the app, closing the app on the watch and phone and restarting both the watch and the phone...no dice. Definitely a minute bug that could be fixed and bring the Evernote app up to full potential. That and expand the number of notes available on the watch and make the search feature more effective as it has never found a note I was looking for when I used the voice command. But again, love the app, LOVE the app, just a few tweaks and we’re golden..Version: 8.24.3

I love Evernote, but it does seem to have a lot of bugs :(Evernote is definitely my go-to app for anything schoolwork related because it's easy to use, looks good, and I can sync it to my Mac instantly. Although recently I've been experiencing some difficulties, such as the app randomly crashing, not syncing correctly with my Mac, or just randomly blacking out. I end up having to delete the app and reinstall it. I really hope these bugs will be fixed i the next update, because I really do love this app, but it's getting pretty frustrating :/.Version: 7.0.3

Super starWithout Evernote I would be a mess. Love the tick checklist. So gratifying. And search function works seamlessly..Version: 10.26

Issues with Subscription through iTunesUnable to upgrade to premium through iTunes. Keeps saying the app isn't app to date which it is. Please fix as I would prefer to have payment managed through iTunes.Version: 8.3

Great but flawedThe web clipper is brilliant, better than anything I’ve seen from any other app, especially taking account of its integration into a great information filing system. I pay a monthly sub but it’s worth it. It’s also great in being multi-platform. Since I use both Windows and IOS, it has none of the drawbacks of OneNote pulling me into OneDrive and M365, or any of the MacOS focused apps like Bear. For me, the flaws are: - despite the single-app convenience, the task manager is nowhere near good enough to replace my use of Todoist - the in-app formatting functions are too basic. It doesn’t need to match MS Word’s overkill, but it could be much better. - free/discounted storage is no longer an issue compared with everything else available - so if another multi platform company like Google merge their existing Workspace mega-storage with additional Evernote clipper and index/tagging functionality and Scrivener-type writing functions, plus what they already have with Sheets and the other apps inside Workspace….Version: 10.34

Love this app.Love this app and use it for lots of online files..Version: 8.22

Useful app with some cross platform limitationsThis app has become the centerpiece of my connected world - especially with the easy ability to email to my account (and appending commands to automatically file in the right notebook), and clip web pages within the browser. A few minor things could be better enhanced though - table management is poor in the iPad version (ok in the windows client), as is the ability to manage fonts, colors etc. The blackberry client also has much to be desired, but (just) does the job when you need to retrieve information on the go. However, overall evernote does it's job very well..Version: 4.1.9

This is my go to app for remembering anything.Evernote is an absolutely indispensable tool for anyone who needs to keep track of information, ideas, and inspiration. As a writer, I use Evernote for everything from jotting down quick notes and to-do lists to organizing research and developing outlines for my work. I can access my notes from anywhere and on any device, which means I'm always able to stay on top of my work, no matter where I am. One of the things I love most about Evernote is how easy it is to use. The interface is intuitive and streamlined, and I never have to waste time fumbling around trying to find what I need. Everything is right where I expect it to be, and I can quickly search through all of my notes to find exactly what I'm looking for. Overall, I would highly recommend Evernote to anyone who needs to keep track of information and ideas. It's a five-star product in my book, and I wouldn't want to be without it..Version: 10.48

Great appBeen using it for years, have most of my life in this app :).Version: 8.3

Been paying since 2008...Update: I simply don't get the negative reviews. I continue to believe that Evernote is better now than it has been for years. I can only assume that others are simply negative towards any kind of change and/or the pricing model. Personally I am pleased with both. ——— ——— ——— —— —— And there have been many times that the only reason I stayed was the volume of data I had built up over the years. But now, for the first time in ages, Evernote seems to have regained its mojo and is once again becoming a useful tool. It's far from perfect but my faith is restored that it's heading, finally, in the right direction..Version: 10.16

Improve but missing featuresOverall an essential if you want Notes x platform on all devices and You have a sub. Should be able To change default fonts and styles. Hard to know if new tasks functionality improves use but still in beta so ok. Pity it can only sync with google. Adding styles and fonts make it much more impressive for keeping different types of notes together which is why I returned to it. In summary it is well worth the sub cost and hope the devs keep up and Fix bugs, odd crashes etc. However I have not lost any data so despite some misgivings it is worth 4 stars..Version: 10.12

Useful and has great potential: 2 ways to improveEvernote is so useful. I am only scraping the surface of its potential, and anticipate I will expand its use as more features get added. I am an evaluator and use Evernote for taking notes at stakeholder interviews and focus groups. I have also used it at conferences. The ability to combine voice recordings, pictures and typed notes is excellent. Two key areas I would like to see improved are: a) synchronizing typed notes with voice (similar to livescribe) so you can jump to the right place in the recording by clicking on the corresponding section of your notes; and b) the ability to work with tables in the note pad..Version: 4.1.6

Good but needs updateA great app for across the Apple ecosystem. The hand writing recognition is phenomenal. As is the organisation. However the app needs the following improvements: a) updated PDF annotation with Apple Pencil. It’s currently clunky and not very seamless. Competitors do a much better job. If you use Apple Pencil, I’d look elsewhere for a note taking app for uni. My pick is notability. b) to actually integrate and preview PDFs like on the Mac version. The iPad version requires you to open pdf files, view and edit them, and then close them again. Again, very clunky. If you’re trying to find something fast, it’s hard to do on iPad. Apps like Onenote do better here.Version: 8.17.3

Fantastic updateI just don’t understand some of negative reviews of Evernote’s latest update, which is fantastic. I have been using the app for years and am thrilled to see the innovation that the new leadership team is bringing about a year in. It looks like it took about a year to stabilize, and now new features are a’comin’. Tasks is game changing, and Gmail and Google calendar sync has boosted my productivity tremendously. I have been mainly using the web app but earlier this week updated my iPhone to this version. Immediately following the update I was having all sorts of issues getting my notes to load in the app. So I sent a support ticket to Evernote, called it a day, and accidentally left the app running overnight on my iPhone. To my delight I awakened to see a notification in the app that I had been successfully upgraded to then latest personal version. All of my notes suddenly appeared, and I have had a phenomenal experience with the app ever since. IMO nothing comes close to Evernote. I love Google, but Drive is where notes go to die. Evernote is where they flourish. I cannot say enough good things about this app and what I’m seeing from the company. It is extremely difficult to satisfy all existing customers while innovating and expanding the base. As a longtime user, however, I personally feel that the team is doing a tremendous job. Kudos!.Version: 10.13.2

Mac version has a bug on Sonoma 14.1The time for reminders on MacOS App version is different to iPhone and iPad Version. Mac version of Evernote shows time as 1 Hour earlier than what is set on iPhone and iPad? All settings have been checked and it is a definite bug. Hey, Evernote how about you bring in 24 Hour Time Reminder capability across all of your apps? Currently, I have my Mac and iPhone/iPad set with a 24 Hour clock but on Evernote you have to use AM/PM time. FYI - I have the latest version of your app and latest software updates on my devices. Otherwise your app is great !!.Version: 10.58.0

Crashes on start upNot sure what’s going on but I can’t open this version on my iPhone. Keep crashing on start up. Very frustrating.Version: 10.16

Awesome improvement!Wow, this new version is such a leap forward. I had almost given up on Evernote after the recent versions seemed to be getting worse and worse, especially with losing the place in the app each time it opens, long screen refreshes, etc. The new version looks great, is snappy, responsive and no crazy refreshes when switching back to it from another app or waking the iPad. Looks like the rewrite paid off!.Version: 10.0

I’m deleting appN.B: It’s no longer worth downloading if you’re not going to use a paid subscription. I started using Evernote in 2014 and I’ve told a few friends about it as it was that good. 1. Now every time I login in, there is some form of Upgrade popup and it’s annoying. 2. Now they’ve limited the number of books and notes to 50. Keep in mind that I’ve been using it for almost 10 years so I’ve got about 300 notes. 3. I can no longer move notes to other Notebooks or even create any more notes. I get that you all wanna make money, but messing with the features of the free version is beyond messed up..Version: 10.61.2

Life-Saver for Schoolwork!I absolutely LOVE Evernote and it has been a life-saver with my schoolwork, especially since everything is going remote. The ability to pair it with Scannable— another favorite— and then convert my homework directly to a PDF saves my teachers and me a ton of time! I was snapping a picture of each page of my math assignment and then submitting every JPEG. Not only was it time consuming and tedious, but it looked terrible. With Evernote, I can scan all of my pages into one PDF document that my teacher can grade much more quickly and that I can submit much more easily. I especially love the Google Classroom feature that allows me to import Evernote PDFs directly to my assignments. My few requests are: 1. Allow ‘tabs’ within the notebooks. I have separate notebooks for each of my classes, but the ability to break down those notebooks even further into units or subjects would be awesome! 2. Allow importing to Canvas, Schoology, or other school apps. It would only improve this already incredible system! Thank you, Evernote, for making my life as a student and the lives of my teachers so much easier! Every student needs this app on their iPad or even phone, and I know it will be staying on mine..Version: 8.24.4

The latest “improvements” are not improvementsI have used Evernote for many years and will continue to do so because it is the best way I’ve found to keep and organize notes of all kinds. But like many apps, the latest “improvements” are not improvements. For example, the default appearance, called “Home” is a mess. Before the default appearance was what now is found under “Notes.” It now requires two clicks to get to “Notes.” Before, when I wanted to add key words to a note, I selected the word, “keyword” and started typing the keyword in the text box provided. After each keyword, I typed a comma, and the keyword was added to the article, whether the keyword had been previously used or not. Now when I intend to add a keyword, I wait until the list of keywords pops up, and have to wait for it to find the keyword if it exists, or go through additional steps to add it if it does not. Adding more steps to get a job done is not an improvement. But it’s still the best app I’ve found for organizing notes - so I will continue to use it. I’ll just be more irritated about it while I do..Version: 10.9

Flexible and creativeI love this app - I found it when I had to write a dissertation for a post grad diploma initially because I could export all my Harvard referencing from another site into Evernote but very quickly completely loved how I could clip articles straight into the app, past pictures of useful resources, quickly and easily create tables, add photos and draw diagrams. I recommend this to anyone I know who is going to be studying! I also use it for my work now as I have to do a lot of preparatory research and it is such a great way to record and organise it especially as I can add images and diagrams so easily..Version: 10.14

Really enjoying the upgradeHave been using the app for 6 years and this upgrade was a pleasant surprise. Sorting options and ease of saved searches is very intuitive. Layout is fresh with out being too gimmicky. While I am loving the view options, the sort option appears to be missing from saved searches. Some menus pop up at the bottom of the screen however the positives out way theses two negatives..Version: 10.0.4

It’s a great toolIt’s a great tool for various different reasons. I think an interesting set of features would be a kind of automation, e.g., the ability to set up conditions so if I write certain words the note is added to certain folders or has certain reminders set to it or maybe even triggers a notification to specific people, etc. Also, something I think should be implemented is title caps in .… well, the TITLES of notes. Why is that not a thing? Or at least a toggleable setting? Lastly, why is it that the icon badge notification number is not at all connected to the actual trigger of the notification. I should open the app and it should be totally clear what the notification number is referring to, whether it’s reminders or updates or whatever. The user is just left adrift once he taps on the icon and then has no clue what triggered the notification. It’s just plain bad UX and your UX folks should really be talked to about that because it’s rather fundamental stuff they are missing..Version: 8.16.4

Evernote has transformed the way I workI'm always on the lookout for smart tools that enhance the efficiency of how I work. As a Consultant, I am in meetings with different clients all the time and I am dealing with many matters simultaneously. Keeping track of all that activity is a real challenge. I have been using a Laptop and mobile for many years but couldn't get rid of pen and pad for taking meeting notes - until the Evernote and iPad combination came along. Now all my meeting notes are at my fingertips without rifling through filing cabinets full of old notebooks. The fact it's a cloud service means I can pick them up on laptop, iPhone or iPad in real time wherever I happen to be. Researching a project is far easier and more efficient. Doing project administration is a breeze and far easier than ever before. Evernote is now an indispensable tool of real power that is flexible and easy to use. I have recommended it to many people and I recommend it to you..Version: 4.2.1

I love it, but you took away one of its best features!Evernote is a very useful tool and is professionally designed with lots of functionality. I was happy to move to the subscription model in recognition of the work done by the developer. However, I was quite disappointed to see the removal of one of its best features - the ability to quickly create a Table of Contents. Yes, I know it's still possible to make one, but it's a tedious process compared to the original, to the point where I no longer take the time to keep it up to date. PLEASE, PLEASE, give serious consideration to reinstating the TOC feature, especially since most of us are paying for the App now..Version: 10.34.1

I’m Back...!!!Took a small break from Evernote trying other note taking Apps, but had to come back. I’m not sure what it is but this App has all the features I need. The one thing I’m not fond of is the pricing for a premium subscription. Nevertheless, I’m giving it 5 star....Version: 8.17

Improve my efficiencyThe Evernote app is well designed with clear and near user interface. Good searching function. It helps me a lot..Version: 8.22

Improving constantlyOK so I have now tried moving to OneNote, Bear, DevonThink, Obsidian and Craft — and all I have learned is a little more respect for Evernote. Each of the others does something better than Evernote (especially Craft which has nice editing and web publishing and notion which has cool tables that actually do stuff) But none of them do everything that Evernote does. So will be sticking with Evernote for a little more of the journey and hope it picks up the best features of the rest .. (especially notion tables) Evernote is still the only place that does everything in one app. For context - premium user for almost 10 years with thousands of notes .... using iPad Pro and MacBook (and nearly switched to another notes app ...).Version: 10.14

The new interface is everything I’ve always wanted!I’ve had Evernote since forever, and I have tons of stuff stored there. Occasionally I can actually find my things..but the chaos is my fault, because I’ve just dumped stuff in there and never organized it well. But the new home page interface does it all. I am truly impressed. It appears to work well cross-platform so I’m going to have at least one of my devices to open to the Evernote home page. It’s logical, visual, lets you look at and rationalize the information you have collected or uploaded, and lets you make notes on the fly that can help you understand exactly why you put that mysterious document there and if you really had anything in mind when you did it... Reading about the new Evernote, I found that some people make a journal entry or note a day and file it on Evernote, along with any relevant photos, etc. So I’m going to try that next...in the meantime, congratulations to the Evernote folks on taking a good program and making it great! They have really followed up and realized the potential of Evernote..Version: 10.9

Longtime fanI’m a longtime Evernote user and rely on it to consolidate materials for both personal and professional projects. That said, I’m consistently running into an error when sending a webpage to Evernote from my iPhone. Please help Evernote!.Version: 10.62.3

A good start, but hotkeys not workingThere are some promising features in the new version, but the Command + N hotkey to create a new note isn’t working, which slows down the workflow quite considerably..Version: 10.2

Not just an ordinary note taking app.I’m been using the free version of the app for several years. Just the basic level was great for organising my notes. Since i upgraded to the monthly paid version... “Awesome” would be the one word I would use to describe Evernote! The ability to connect, tag and search through your research and find all you notes on a specific subject is very useful. Also searching words through photos of documents is extremely helpful which makes collecting useful information quickly has taken my researching and writing to a whole new level. I should paid taken the paid version a long time ago! Thank you Evernote Team!!!.Version: 10.52.2

Welcomed UpdatesHi, I, like many of Evernote’s user base, have been rightfully concerned with the recent pricing announcement only time will tell if the service provides VfM. But it’s also important to highlight the new owners are not resting on their laurels and have quickly pushed out a few useful AI-focused features. The Cleanup feature, for example, has been helpful and a time saver in neatly formatting notes - I hope in future updates, the character limit is significantly increased. And not to forget, the sync has received a much-needed revamp - the best in the business, in my view. If you're looking for a reliable premium notetaking service, try Evernote. Suleman.Version: 10.51.1

Forced to unsync devicesI purchased this app (it was offered for free as a special offer at the time) a few years ago and loved it — storage, folders, functionality, making notes on the go and and using my notes across all my devices (3) devices. I haven’t been attracted by the premium version because I haven’t needed the extra functionality. However, today, I went to use it on my iPad and had to log into my account, which I don’t remember having to do for a while. Ok, fine. Then up came a prompt that I needed to sync my devices. Curious, I thought, last time I looked they were syncing ok. Stupidly, I clicked and hey presto I now have to unsync one of my three devices to continue to use the app, in the basic plan. I get that there’s a huge cost to running an app, but to reduce functionality for existing customers, shame on you Evernote. Looks like I’ll either have reduced syncing or move to one note which is included in my 365 subscription. Which will take time and which of course you’re relying on. Not a happy long term customer..Version: 8.20

Love it!!!Have only been using Evernote this year but can see real potential for future use. I use it for organising my senior high school maths classes, notes, ideas, everything numbered for keeping the flow of topics. I have notebooks (topics) within notebooks (classes). Tagging special notes for finding easily eg certain timetables, assessment specifications, yearly outlines makes for finding important things easily. Taking photos of ideas from the board, photos of kids' work (and showing them, ipad to data projector), using skitch to alter graphs etc, penultimate when in a hurry. I scan stuff that I don't have digital copies of then upload them so I can put them on the whiteboard (ipad to data projector) so I can work through them with the students. I scan piano music (which is so easy to flick through when playing, much easier than paper!!!) for me... And when teaching junior music I can easily keep notes on individual students, progress, record their compositions as they play them. Although I can't make notebooks within notebooks via the ipad it is easily done on a laptop. I am L O V I N G Evernote!!!.Version: 5.2.3

Highly Efficient Note-Taking AppThis application stands out as a top choice for note-taking, providing all the fundamental features required for effective note management. Its user-friendly interface and robust functionality make it ideal for organizing and keeping track of important information. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a reliable and efficient note-keeping solution..Version: 10.61.2

Touchy app that fails to save updates to my notesI listen to nutrition podcasts and jot down notes on episodes. 1) the cursor often spazzes out and moves my text to the end of note without warning (which I can maybe blame on my iPhone screen I guess, don’t know how, it’s a clean, newish phone…) and 2) my notes won’t save! They revert constantly to previous versions. Despite me being extra careful and hitting the checkmark, closing the app and only having it open on one device at a time. I just spent 30 mins wrestling the cursor on two separate notes and the app decided to save only part of my initial draft of both. Makes it almost unusable. Just a bummer that they’re gonna charge people to use a glorified Apple Notes app that gives me like two more abilities than the free app (and I can’t even post saved videos?). If it were free I wouldn’t be wasting my time giving it a negative review but the gall you have to have to charge people for such a user-unfriendly experience is why I’m wasting more of my time being negative here..Version: 10.40

Please optimizeIm a premium user and love this app but it often freeze or close the app unexpectedly. Even on my mac pro still freeze on a high frequency. Please look into this..Version: 8.10.1

Incredible utility, heartbreaking performanceI have used Evernote for multiple times a day for 9 years, and I’m a subscriber (even though I don’t use enough storage or features to require it). It’s a Godsend. And the customer service was w A M A Z I N G. But the performance makes me want to yank my hair out. You can’t ces notes offline - which is just bizarre - and when you want to joy down a note quickly on mobile the app I’ll often just sit and spin. I suspect it’s trying to get location or the calendar event or something. My advice is to just have two apps: an Evernote who just want to take and keep notes. And then an app with all the other ‘smart’ stuff which causes all the performance issues. Less is more, and I spent that most subscribers would gladly pay forever if the app just worked reliably and didn’t try to over-egg the omelette..Version: 8.23

Brilliant - yet a few issuesThis app is great, you can have a lot of scans and organise them quite well. There is a good format and the scans that come through on your other app (Evernote Scannable) connect immediately. Also, when you need to reset your password, the email is really quick and easy (In the past I’ve had to wait ages for it t happen so I thought I might mention it). You don’t even need the app as you can do it online too! Unfortunately there are a few errors, sometimes the files you sort your notes into are a bit confusing (but that might just be me) and sometimes there are a few internet connection problems, like you have to go off and on, though this may just be a bug. Hope this was helpful..Version: 8.24.5

Getting worseJune 2018 update Three stars now, still my go to note taking app, but I’d move on if OneNote wasn’t so dammed clumsy. Why? The editor in Evernote still isn’t good. Why on each are there two different types of table? One for desktop and the other for mobile. It’s a great app, but with some focus on the editor (people, it’s a note taking app. Come on.) it could be amazing. Update on what's below. Why do they insist on fixing stuff that's not broken and not dealing with the fact that the editor is at best average. Also, the idea is that whenever you have an idea or need to take a note you can just pick the phone up and go. With the latest update, the whole app is unresponsive until its downloaded new notes. Not good. I do however use it for everything, I just wish they'd stop ignoring the things they need to get done. I use this all the time, it's my go to note taking app. Having said that I find the editor on all versions frustrating (tables in particular are very poorly implemented) and not a patch on OneNote which I used for years..Version: 8.13

This is a reviewAs much as I love implementing Helvetica in my designs and whatnot, isn't Gotham a much more pleasant font to look at? Maybe I'm growing out of the Swiss designer's Helvetica obsession phase, I don't know. I think I'm too contemporary to understand the beauty or Helvetica... Anyways, Evernote is a very useful app. A little on the expensive side, sure, but the UI is amongst the best I've seen for note taking apps. There are only a couple crashes so far, but I'm not that concerned since nothing is lost. I understand how frustrating programming can be. I get migraines when my code doesn't compile properly or because I forgot to close the array by accident. I see many people are pressuring you to release an update that fixes all their problems, but programming is delicate business. Take your time..Version: 8.5.1

No more Siri shortcut on the side screen. It suddenly disappeared and isn’t available to add..Version: 8.24.1

The one flaw in this app has now been fixed. Hooray!I really like Evernote, and use the desktop version and the web version to keep little "to do" notes synched up. It works a treat. If you've used Evernote on the web or on your desktop, then this adds similar functionality to your iPod Touch or iPhone. I had previously given this application three stars and complained about the fact that there was no offline storage of notes. Since writing that review Evernote has fixed this, and individual notes can be selected as 'favorites' and stored offline. I suspect there are still a few design tweaks Evernote could do to makes the notes look a little nicer, but, generally, this is a brilliant free application..Version: 0

Still not quite darkThis app has now adapted to system dark mode, but the launch screen still assaults the retinas with bright white. Please fix this!.Version: 8.24.1

Still developing, great to see backlinksThe pace of development has been frustratingly slow for the last few years. I remain hopeful that the app will continue to develop and eventually restore a lot of the functionality which was lost with the switch to Electron. It’s positive to see that backlinks have been added. One thing which really needs to be sorted out is automated iOS background syncing. It’s so slow and that really feels unacceptable in 2023. There are many times when I have set a reminder on the desktop app. On the reminder date, the notification then appears on my phone. When I tap it, I get a message saying that the note cannot be loaded, because it has not synced to the device yet. Which means I basically can’t even tell what the reminder was about even after it eventually syncs all notes..Version: 10.46

Pretty good butI have used Evernote for years as my tool for note taking at college. This was fine for my undergraduate degree as I was just taking plain notes, but in my graduate degree everything is done on PowerPoint. I have tried making PDFs of the PowerPoint presentations and editing them in Annotate in Evernote however if you do this with a large file the app ALMOST ALWAYS CRASHES. This is incredibly frustrating as I twice lost an hour’s worth of notes from lectures which I can never get back. I’ve signed in and out, deleted the app reinstalled it and the problem persists on my MacBook Pro and my iPad. PLEASE FIX THIS - I am an Evernote Pro user and my work is regularly vanishing. t’s making me seriously consider moving to Notability..Version: 8.10.1

IOS Version 10.0.3. Is it Me?I’ve used Evernote since March 2014. I updated to 10.0.3 a day ago & I regret it. I use Evernote on my IOS iphone & I use it a lot. Evernote on my phone was good before the update. One day after the update I learn that Evernote does not have PRINTING / ADOBE PDF feature as was in the version before the update. Also, the “Find in note” does not work in the notes created before the update but work in newly created notes. Printing & Find A Note are two features that I can’t do without. Evernote states in their documentation that PRINTING is not available yet in the IOS version. The new updated version does have some nice editing features such as undo & more highlight & font colors & font sizing capabilities. The inability to PRINT and the inability to make Adobe PDF’s is a game changer. I’m not sure what I’m going to do. I have almost 12,000 notes & for that reason, I’m hesitant to move on to something else. I’m disappointed in the latest update..Version: 10.0.4

Flexibility within platform limitsI love the storage and searchability of Evernote, particularly of collecting resources ranging from blogs to PDFs and photos. I would like to have a dedicated Diary and Journaling section, the diary to plan and the journal to reflect on each day. At present I’ve created a journal notebook, yes I did see your templates, they didn’t work for me. If the diary was linked to a calendar that allowed links to notebooks that would be great. I would really like it more if I could use a variety of icons for my lists: I like to use different tick boxes on my to do list to sign things off — a circle for events, a square for tasks, a triangle for calls, then a hyphen for a note attached to any of those three..Version: 8.22

Ever-ything you need! This is a great app, I've found it stable and a great concept, I only wish I'd found it earlier. With a (yuk) Windows PC at work, and a Mac at home, this works seamlessly across all three platforms, and even adjusts its capabilities on my iPod Touch (no camera of course). It looks best on the Mac, as you might expect. Sadly I purchased a voice recording app just before I saw this, but of course I didn't need it. What wasn't clear was that Evernote give you an email address and email you get sent (or forward) there is added to your library and becomes searchable. A great feature. Yes, the service costs if you want to use it in anger, but it's a bargain and from a business perspective really useful. The first thing i did was to photograph my work whiteboard, and within a minute I could search for most words on it, regardless of colour and almost of handwriting - there are limits, I work in a hospital with doctor's handwriting about! Great app, go for it and sign up for the paid service later if you need it - there is no downside!.Version: 0

A really handy toolThis is a great little app, I use it daily and I like the interface. Has all my planning and done of my creative projects going back a couple of years now. Definitely worthwhile!.Version: 10.36

Update to previous review. New updates are terribleThis used to be the best app on the market but recent updates have ruined it. Has become really buggy now can’t easily export photos or documents from a note without it copying a whole load of hyperlink file path details. Now have to save a photo back to my iPhone image library and export from there so way less efficient for the tasks I use it for. Still no barcode recognition which would be very useful and I’ve asked for it many times. Would also be nice to be able to encrypt an entire note from within the phone or pc app. Still an amazing database but was better before the updates. ————————————————————————— I’ve used this to collate teaching notes for at least 10 years now. It’s so intuitive and easy to use. I upgraded to a pro account when I started incorporating a lot of HD photos into my notes. The “scanning function” on the phone app is just amazing it will recognised a document or sketch when you hover your phone camera over it and remove all the shadows. Searching notes even recognises words within handwriting and scanned documents. It’s the best app on earth, end of story and I haven’t even scratched the surface of what Evernote can do!.Version: 10.2

Needs innovationsUpdate 2023: They actually added the undo button sometime ago so at least that’s one thing done. Hopefully they will also jump into the encryption bandwagon! Another thing I’d say to the developers is that most users probably aren’t power users and don’t need all the full features. I’m premium user but don’t think I’ll ever upload 10gb worth of files in a month. Having a cheaper personal plan with less features probably gonna be more appealing for most users. Original review: I’ve been using Evernote for over a decade so it’s still definitely one of my favourites but I’m afraid the others might catch up with it pretty soon. Generally it’s still my preferred note taking app, I get the premium whenever I need to, but for most regular users that probably isn’t necessary. Two things I wish they have: 1) in app note encryption (not through browser), and 2) dedicated undo button instead of relying on iOS shake to undo Otherwise, it’s still working pretty well for me for now..Version: 10.45.2

Still worth it.Yes, Evernote costs more now, and it came as a surprise. But Evernote has always been, now for fifteen years in my case, the absolute best ever app for keeping information, and crucially, to be able to find it again later. I need that information, and I need an easy way to store it and retrieve it. When I was finishing a book recently I needed to find news articles that I had clipped in 2009 from various newspapers. For a number of reasons those articles were no longer available anywhere, even archive sites. And, in any case, I didn’t remember exactly when they had been published, which wasn’t helping. But in Evernote an easy keyword search and I got everything, from the old web addresses to the page numbers of the print edition of the papers (that’s because of the PressReader integration with Evernote at the time — the best ever integration, something I miss almost every day). Evernote is a lifesaver..Version: 10.51.1

Best app for note taking purposeI love it, this is best app for note taking, imagine you have a diary of thousands of notes and you want to quickly get answer to your questions, that's when AI function comes in to stage, where you can ask question and it can look into your thousands of pages notes and provide you with answer. Keep it up guys I believe in your team and I will keep continuing with the professional subscription.Version: 10.57.1

Evernote is the bestI have been a premium customer since 2014. It’s something else now but the product just gets better and better. I use for both work and play, sermon notes and to dos, meetings and seminar notes. I have loaded it up on 5 devices and now with real time syncing it just got better. The search facility is excellent and I am keen to use additional features as they come and I learn about them..Version: 10.50.3

Almost perfectSome little bugs are present. The most frequent one is the passcode screen. When trying to type the passcode, the normal keyboard shows up to cover the lower numbers of the passcode screen, then you'd have to close the app and open it again which can get quite irritating from time to time. Useful features that could be added in the future is: Being able to add folders into folders. This makes notes easier to organise in groups. Another is being able to put certain important notes at the top when opened the folder, even when sorted by the dates created. Overall this app is wonderful and is very easy to use!.Version: 8.24.4

Well designed appThe iOS app for Evernote works great and has been designed well. It is very useful for students and generally anyone who might want to keep track of notes and information. It starts up fast on the iPad 3. The only problem I have with it so far is that there is no way to create notebooks through the iOS app, which can be a bit of a pain. You can still create notebooks on the web interface in Safari but it would be nice to be able to add notebooks from the app. Other than that the app is great to use and runs without problems on the iPad 3. On older iPod touches (before they got the camera) Evernote used to start up and instantly crash. On the latest iPod touch I haven't had any problems..Version: 4.1.9

This app and the desktop version are life-changingI purchased Evernote back in September after struggling to find a note-taking system that met my needs in my current position for many months. I have about 25 customers, a ton of zoom meetings, and was actually just diagnosed with pretty significant adult ADHD after using it successfully for a few months. The desktop integration with my google corporate calendar on a Mac that automatically prompts me as a reminder to create a meeting note, then lists all of the date/time info and a task list and meeting note format is so critical to my daily work I’m not sure how I got by without it (I do believe that’s a paid feature). The ability to tag every note keeps me organized with very little effort. Being able to forward emails of importance into my notebooks is amazing. The task list with the reminder feature has become my lifeline. I used to be a huge OneNote fan, but I’m a lifelong Evernote user now. I’ve started using it to keep track of personal and family information as well, and I just can’t say enough good things. Absolutely well worth the money for the top-tier subscription in my case. Thank you to the developers!.Version: 10.46

PratiqueJe l’utilise depuis quelques années et c’est une excellente façon de prendre et conserver des notes de suivi de projets..Version: 8.6
