Bloomberg: Business News Daily for Negative User Reviews

AwfulJust terrible.Version: 5.67.0

Glacial! This used to be quite a useful app. But recently it has slowed down to a crawl!! Too many bells and whistles, perhaps? I used to use it to look up news about the stocks in my watchlist, But who wants to wait 10 seconds before the app even appears to respond..Version: 5.4.0

Deleted the Bloomberg App todayI deleted your app today because one of the three « things you need to know today » was a blurb on Sarah Sanders leaving the press secretary position, and it was rude and obnoxious. I get that she doesn’t share your political philosophy, and you don’t like her boss, but it’s an incredibly hard job, she’s a working mother and I believe she tried her best to do it well and get people the info they wanted. She’s leaving - couldn’t you have been gracious for 2 or 3 lines and wished her well? Many of us lament the loss of civil discourse in recent years - this a perfect example of how some people in the media feed the flames..Version: 5.12.14

Needs dark modeGood app, informative and well maintained. I would give it 5 stars if the UI had a dark mode, because this is possibly the least night-friendly app in the entire store..Version: 5.72.0

Very buggy appI just renewed my subscription all access and for some reason I have as much content as a non subscriber. And when I tried to sign off and to sign back in, my account was locked. Made an inquiry and received an email with a link to unlock my account. When I clicked on it, it was invalid..Version: 5.12.7

Rip offRip off.Version: 5.68.0

Tiny Unreadable Text - UselessThe developers of this app either do not know or doesn’t care about their target readers. Text sizes are about 60% of other online news apps. Even extra large text setting is only ~80% of standard font size of other news app! Bloomberg, a business and financial journal, should know their target readers are typically older, so the developers decided to make Bloomberg text size much smaller & harder to read than all other news app - go figure. I downloaded this app but I don’t use it because I couldn’t read the articles. I suspect many others felt the same..Version: 5.34.1

Good luck trying to cancel your subscription...Customer service is essentially non-existent and it blows my mind. I want to temporarily cancel my digital subscription with hopes of rejoining later when it makes more sense for my situation. In order to cancel, there’s no number to contact and you have to send them an email via their “customer support” portal. Well, sent them an email and surprise surprise - no response after a week. Sent them one a couple days later and still no response. With it being so difficult to cancel I doubt I’ll ever want to re-subscribe. Save yourself the headache and don’t get their digital subscription if you can help it..Version: 5.14.2

Bring back previous versionThis new version is clumsy, bulky and slow. I have been using Bloomberg mobile for more than 8 yrs but this version is poor. I can see far less on a screen than before and i am now looking to use one of the competitor products. The previous version was the best of all products it was slim very effective and easy to navigate and I have used that on a daily basis. AND now there are less - it excludes New Zealand stocks..Version: 3.0

OkApp doesn’t have dark reading mode.Version: 5.61.0

Awful upgradeIf you have the previous version of this app do not upgrade it. You will currently have a slick, well designed and functional app after upgrading you will have the something clunky, featureless and ugly that provides a fraction of the watchlist information you're currently getting. Bloomberg please provide a rollback or at least offer both versions, its like going from having a masters degree to being taught how to read and write. Update: And now they’ve got greedy. I notice also that somehow all the multitudes of 1 star reviews have somehow been removed the app hasn’t got better so one can only surmise how only the good ratings get to stay..Version: 5.4.1

Bloomberg App UselessI had run the Bloomberg app for a long time, have put up with advertising turning up all over the app in an annoying way but find it is completely useless. The problem is there is nothing to read - constantly wants you to subscribe. Subscription is quite expensive when you consider the news is constantly pouring (and repeating) out of every media source for nothing. See your later guys..Version: 5.6.0

Massive downgrade, stealth attempt to double the priceUsed to get Business Week digital with my print subscription in its own app. Now that app has been removed and I’m being told I have to use this app (which is cluttered with a lot of non-BW stuff I don’t care about or want to buy), and that suddenly my subscription is worthless and I need to pay AGAIN. To make it worse, I asked to end my print subscription due to this terrible change and was told they would immediately stop sending me the printed renaming BW magazines I have PAID for. Greed, mismanagement, and incompetence all rolled into this app and it’s support..Version: 5.18.0

Needs OptimisationI really enjoy contents from Bloomberg, and I read it every morning. However, this app really needs tons of optimisation and less ads. This subscription is expensive, and through it does not promise ads free, there’s just too much. I use an iPad Pro with M1 chip which apparently contains the craziest GPU performance in any mobile devices. But scrolling through Bloomberg app still LAGS, and I’m really left speechless. During my job applications, I’ve been rejected by Bloomberg three times, so I’m sure you guys only hire the best of the best. Please tell these high paid developers, get your job properly done, optimise your app to at least let m1 iPads run it smoothly!.Version: 5.55.0

New App a backwards stepOn the iPad, the previous app was very functional and useful. I was using it as a main source of news. The new one is clumsy to use and a step backward in functionality leading me to look for alternative sources..Version: 4.0

Not a bad app, but the free article limit is too lowI use app often enough, but the main problem is that the free article limit is very low and a premium subscription is ridiculously expensive. I would suggest lowering the price of the premium subscription or adding extra tiers for a different number of articles..Version: 5.14.1

Where's Canada??I downloaded this app hoping to review stocks on the TSX but when I clicked on 'Markets' it lists the US exchanges, Mexico?? and Brazil?? But not the American's leading trading partner?? Hey, up here!! Yes, we're quiet but we're still here. We're not a state!.Version: 4.5.0

AdsStill seeing ads, even with a paid subscription 😒.Version: 5.18.0

Tell Apple 🍎 and selfTell Apple 🍎 and self With a update does every customer need Chrome cast support or china language support and if they don’t why can’t we tick yes or no at this time and be done with that update. Not all updates are applicable to all users. So we fill up our phone hard drives and waste our time. Make us select what’s needed and what’s not. But always keep app performance super fast..Version: 5.12.8

So many adsPaid subscription yet an ad between every 1 or 2 articles on the home page..Version: 5.81.2

I didn't expect this from Bloomberg! In 2018, I have to drop the ratings to 1 or below, not because of the excellent information that Bloomberg's highly talented team of professionals compile (Kudos) but because they are forcing a subscription model on a variety of services including live tv. I guess my ratings wouldn't bother Bloomberg but app ratings work similar to investment ratings and not always relates to the app design itself and can also reflect public views on the company's motives. In 2014, I rated the app with 5 stars with the following feedback. Excellent and Outstanding! The recently updated app is phenomenal. Especially, the customization features and seamless integration with Bloomberg Radio app. It gives a great feeling of the world market dynamics is at the finger tips. An essential for all finance and economic professionals or for that matter anybody who wants to have greater control to their investments with access to a vast pool of information and resources..Version: 5.6.0

BloombergThe worst of the worst.Version: 5.91.0

Needs some optimizationThe app is great in terms or news and tracking the markets but it definitely needs some optimization as it can be quite clunky in places and needs quite a bit of time to load even when just swiping through pages. I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max which is about as powerful as an iPhone can be but the app can still be quite rigid and slow..Version: 5.62.0

Can’t hear videosHave no issues with all other video streaming apps but since the latest update, Bloomberg videos lag and the video get prioritised over sound on talk shows!! I would expect better from a renown brand like Bloomberg..Version: 5.9.1

AdsI already pay for access to the articles. The amount of ads is too much for a paid subscription..Version: 5.39.0

Use to be useful w.o. subscriptionBloomberg introduced subscriptions a while back and has been gradually reducing the amount of content you can use without one. Now it is pretty much pointless to bother with this app unless you are willing to pay the monthly fee..Version: 5.72.0

Unlike the financial times app this bloomberg app is chaosEvery time i open it i can’t easily see the latest articles added but a stupid mix of articles posted days ago with one posted an hour ago. i pay for a subscription so can i get info quicker & on time. please fix. & so hard to access Saved articles too. how many taps needed?! geez..Version: 6.3.1

Holy ads, BatmanHow much do you have to pay to not have ads? Or even just a couple ads… the latest update has THIRTY ONE ads on the main page. Always the fastest to news and great articles but the ads are making me crazy..Version: 5.80.0

Too many addsGreat information but far too many ads. There are so many in the news feed it it’s difficult to read through..Version: 5.81.2

A once nice app deliberately (?) crippledThe older (black background) version of Bloomberg was *so* much better one wonders why they seemingly deliberately stripped out so much of what made it special. Was it to drive users to an expensive paid app that most investors won't purchase? Bloomberg' sown FAQ concedes that Realized Gains/Losses and the Market Monitor features are no longer available. News for stocks in watchlists are also more limited. The portfolio performance and diversify model charts are also missing, but may return in a future release. Heck the portfolio listings won't even add the company name with the stock ticker as they used to. There was nothing wrong with the old release, which apparently they don't want folks using any longer, as it locks up after limited use with a reminder to download and use the new version, even to remove the older (preferred) version. Update: After a series of version updates, this app if anything has gotten worse. Slow response and lockups make for a bad user experience. And the original (black background) version we all liked? Bloomberg continues its crippling - Headlines and News no longer work, Watchlists no longer reflect edits, and sector analysis dead. Really would like to find an app more like the original..Version: 5.5.2

Irrelevant news nowEdit - I can now no longer see my lots or my holdings on the watchlist since the latest update. I used to read Bloomberg everyday. They say you get 10 free articles a month. Never had that. Open one article and you’ve hit your limit. No way on gods earth would I pay those subscription prices as a private individual. Your subscribing yourself into irrelevance. From being one of the most respected to, do you subscribe to bloom what?.Version: 5.64.0

Major optimisation issuesI wanted to send some app feedback from with in the app but I can’t even do that My main issue is app scaling a optimisation for iPhone XS screen (I don’t know about other devices). The tab bar at the bottom is at the very bottom and therefore some tab items are over lapping the home bar. Also the header/navigation panel has the same issue. It does not look like the screenshots all. I’ve tried reinstalling etc. Nothing fixes it. Until then I’ll stick to using a different app. Really shame since everything else is pretty good..Version: 5.12.6

Subscription scamFound super interesting article that requires a subscription. After subscribing, the article did not appear like I expect.Searched subject Labourer and American spelling Laborer and subject Desiger. Results included chocolate! Organize Labor etc..Version: 5.99.0

Awful auto playing video ads that stop your musicThere are now awful auto playing video ads on all articles that stop your music from playing if your listening to something while browsing BB. Not to mention the video ads consume valuable data which is limited on my contract. Anti consumer and no regard to limited data consumers may have..Version: 4.4.3

Was bad but useful, now bad and uselessUsed to be a useful place to track prices of securities, despite being slow and clunky. They’ve recently capped the price quotes you can see without being a subscriber, which is just annoying as you can find this information for free in many other places. Completely pointless gating that did nothing other than force me to find an alternative and delete the app..Version: 5.75.0

Paid requires subscriptionUnfortunately isn’t free.Version: 5.57.0

This is not trusted news, & poor experienceIf you are searching for a non biased source of political news keep searching. I subscribe for the financial news only and ignore anything related to politics, and I only stay subscribed temporarily because I got a deal on my monthly subscription a while back. Also the app is repeatedly slow on my updated iPhone X, the app does not support night mode STILL so put on them sunglasses if you like reading news in a dark room, never mind disrupting your wife/husband next to you. Links within the app often take you out of the app and opens Safari where you have to keep logging in with your credentials, what a mess! I’ll most certainly cancel the subscription not because of it’s poor overall experience but on the simple basis that if I pay for news I expect news, not opinion..Version: 5.32.0

Okay for news - bad for stocksThe old version of this app was still way better than it is now, even after almost 18 months. It's worth downloading for the news and commentary, but definitely not if you were interested in following stocks and monitoring portfolios..Version: 4.4.3

Love the news but stock updates need work! The news is always great and laid out nice. My big issue is stock updates. I just looked at 9:45am and it still shows the price from yesterday. It doesn’t say after hours or premarket prices and doesn’t update in the morning for a while. If I go on google and type in stocks or go to Merrill's app it’s always the latest. PLEASE FIX! I can’t rely on this info if it’s always delayed. Also, my stock list will say one price but when I click on the stock, it opens and will show a different price and time stamp. Very annoying!.Version: 5.15.7

Overwhelming Volume of AdsEvery video has a 15-30second ad. And that’s even if you’ve already paid the £300 subscription. Ads fill the pages where you’re reading. Once you’re on the live television platform after watching a 30-second ad, there’s more ads between the programs. And if you close your app and reopen even for a second, we’ll good luck watching another ad before you can access the video. Absolutely ridiculously..Version: 5.31.0

Worse than the last version. The updated one is worse than the last version..Version: 4.0.1

Freedom of choiceThe original app was actually very useful, especially the watch list. Unfortunately, every update made the features worse - the latest allows you only 25 stocks to monitor (probably because the developers know their app freezes or slows down to uselessness beyond 25) and two watchlists max (so too bad for you if you are monitoring more than 50 issues); plus, it will auto shutdown after a few minutes of use, without the courtesy of even a simple warning. All these new features in the updates were most likely deliberate, to hopefully make one subscribe to their professional version of the app. That's business! Still your choice to use or not - it's for free, after all..Version: 5.2.1

Good App, But…The app has serious issues when working with iOS. While using the app my iPhone would get very hot and become very slow, the whole phone would automatically lower brightness and reduce cpu capacity. I have recently purchased a new phone and the issue is persisting, meaning it is not an issue on my end. If that issue can be fixed, the Bloomberg app would be 10 out of 5..Version: 5.62.0

Biased reporting creepSeems to be taking more of a political slant than objective, fact based reporting. This bias may also be causing integrity issues within other parts of its platform. I like to see it balanced with its usual strong global perspective..Version: 5.60.0

Pop up Ads, Slow Performance for a paid subscription !I believe in paying for content and have chosen to do so, however this is an incredibly frustrating experience as ads pop up after reading just 1/2 of the available screen and dislocate the actual text as you are reading. This is a paid subscription and this level of intrusion is truly unacceptable. I wish this was the only issue: the slow performance after a few read stories and the inevitable closing down the app, restarting the app and hunting for where you left off. There seems to be a performance update every other week..skip this app, skip the subscription if you like reading Bloomberg on your phone!.Version: 5.62.0

Terrible Research AppThis app is supposed to be able to deliver you market-related news. That’s why it exists. However, unless it’s current or fairly recent, do not expect quality archives - even of Bloomberg’s own old articles. I’ve used this since it’s debut, very bumpy road of updates, addition of ads, more monetization, now paywall, all of which are tertiary to DELIVERING NEWS. If I type in a stock symbol and you can’t even bother bringing your own articles written about the company, what is the point of using the app?! But I do appreciate the morning daily digest so I know what Wall Street thinks I should care about for the next 24 hours. That’s semi-helpful. But...There’s a laundry list of features this app is missing, all of which it either used to have or could easily be added so I never use it very long..Version: 5.12.4

App crashesUsing iPhone 7 Plus. Whenever I click into a story, finishing reading it then click the back button, the home page appears for a split second then crashes back to springboard. Was able to replicate it 7 times in a row..Version: 5.5.1

Great content, but slow and overheatingBloomberg has great content. I use an iPhone XS Max. The app slows after 5 minutes and then after about 7 mins stops entirely. If I switch apps and come back it is great for another 5 minutes. Are the video ads not being cleared from memory after I have scrolled past or after I have finished an article? Looking forward to the the update the fixes this issue..Version: 5.59.0

Freeze contantlyThis has a lot of good informations, but it freezes constantly or reloads. Problem is caused by the big amount of adds..Version: 5.92.0

Awful serviceThe FT has an app, it’s brilliant, it means that subscribers don’t need to keep signing in. By contrast, with Bloomberg you have to keep signing in. Furthermore, you then have to submit to the time consuming indignity of the Kaptcha. Sometimes, I have been ‘made’ to go thru’ 3 Kaptchas just to access a service I have paid for. Then, when I do access a page I am presented with a busy screen, often with flashing side panels. Has anyone from Bloomberg tried to read text when there are flashing side panels. The overall impression is that the subscriber is subsidiary to Bloomberg’s commercial interests - I don’t feel like a subscriber, certainly not like a valued customer, I feel like an intruder. Today I have repeatedly tried to log in but have failed - you want me to pay for Bloomberg Anywhere, but I’m a subscriber for the news service. Try as I do I can’t access what I’ve paid for. I will not be renewing- it’s a rip off..Version: 5.43.0

Ads for expensive Subscription? It makes no sense that such an expensive subscription, which I’m happy to pay for, has so much advertising. The pop-up ads and regular ads are incessant and detract from your reading experience. Had to go back to web-based version with ad-blocker.Version: 5.65.0

What a disasterWas a great app until the last update. Let's put aside all of the examples of what makes the new app simply terrible UX for a second. The app is not even iPad friendly. Portrait or Landscape. How a company goes from having one of the best apps available in its category to one of the worst in one update is beyond me. The UX designers and Developers shouldn't even be consulting a company like Bloomberg. Its really so fundamental that they should be ashamed of themselves..Version: 4.0.1

ConnectivityThe app often things there is no network connectivity when their is. This happens when you load an article when there is no connectivity a refresh button appears but once Connectivity is back refresh still says there is no network.Version: 4.5.2

Good content but the app experience is trashIncredibly frustrating trying to read an article via paid subscription (that is not cheap by any means) and the entire OS slows down to a point i have to forcibly turn off/restart my device it’s so processor intensive. And this is a latest gen iphone. The main problem I suspect are the many ads which keep loading every half screen of content even though again this is a PAID subscription. Very frustrating and I’m considering just canceling my subscription. Lots of ads, very processing heavy app, slow and crashes not just the app but the entire OS..Version: 5.64.0

Don't Upgrade!Very disappointed that NZ equities are no longer supported. No other app that I've used has this issue (Stockwatch, Yahoo, etc.). Such a shame as this was the best of all of them until now..Version: 3.0

Best market dataBest market review, however skewed bias when comes appreciation of market era under Trump. Unfortunate..Version: 5.52.0

However is responsible for the new app needs to be shown the door.As a Bloomberg app fan I was flabbergasted when this version arrived. If money for the old one is what you wanted, just ask but if this version doesn't revert quickly you'll lose me..Version: 4.0.1

Not good anymoreWas using this app for last 5 years, after every update they keep on removing some features so the users can pay money to keep on enjoying those features. Sorry not going to pay for basic features, plenty of apps in App Store to do the same thing, it’s time to move on to different app. Thanks Bloomberg for last 5 years..Version: 5.64.0

TerribleUnfortunately this has become a bad app. Very slow. If you view charts too much they stop working (it really wants you to subscribe). Deleting today but thought to drop a review to warn people that it’s not very user friendly..Version: 5.65.0

New update breaks login/subscription linkI have been using the app for years and it was always good. But since the last update, the app wouldn’t find my subscription (I subscribe through their website) so I was limited to 10 articles per month. I removed the app and reinstalled it and now I can’t log in, because it requires me to solve a challenge to proof I’m a human. But the challenge doesn’t load..Version: 5.30.0

Reduced functionallityThe new version no longer supports New Zealand stocks. The app says there are contractural restrictions however the previous version of the app was able to support NZ stocks 5 minutes before the upgrade..Version: 3.0

Bug reportUnable to turn Bloomberg TV into full screen on iPhone 14 Pro.Version: 5.84.0

Disappointed in the merciless customer serviceNot unexpectedly, the promotion period auto-renews as a full price subscription. I made this mistake, and was charged $300+ for a subscription that I never accessed. I was surprised at the merciless approach that Bloomberg took when I contacted their support team. They did not even consider refunding in part or whole, simply parroted their terms of service with a bit of condescending corporate fluff for good measure. Disappointing to me that they do not treat their consumer customers with the same respect as their corporate clients. Based on this experience I would not use Bloomberg products personally or for my corporate teams..Version: 5.69.1

Too many ads on paid subscription, and app is slow and glitchyBloomberg provides great information, but even with the high price for a subscription, there are still so many intrusive ads. The app is also very poorly designed, slow and often crashes..Version: 5.67.0

Rapid, multiple ads on $35 monthly subscriptionI pay the $35 monthly subscription fee, and am overwhelmed with ads in every article I read. The static ads are one image block, repeated multiple times through the body of the article, and the ad blocks are replaced rapidly every few seconds, with a new ad image. While this new ad image is loading, the text jumps as the last ad image was removed, because it takes up less space now, but there is still a big blank spot on the screen. When the new multiple-image ad loads throughout the article text, the article text jumps again to make room for the ad. Now I’m also getting ads that arrive with sound on, loading in one mystery location in the article, that you can’t turn off the sound. If you touch the playing ad wrong, Safari is opened because it wants to sell you NOW! These sound ads also heat up the iPad because it’s processing so furiously. Hey Mike, Why should I pay the $35 if I can’t read through an article? Are you listening?.Version: 5.60.0

Advertising Videos keep playing for paying subscribers! This is supposed to be for business professionals. Even for paying subscribers, the ads are on, there is no way to turn them off, and extremely irritating videos selling useless stuff keeps playing automatically with audio as you scroll to read the news. This is not just distracting, and causes you to lose focus on the news articles, but for business professionals, you cannot use this app in business settings (like a meeting) because the audio for these ad videos will play automatically while you are reading an article. And they have multiple of these audios per news article, so a video could play 3 times or more as you scroll thru to read a single article. And there is no way to turn this off. And note again, that this is for a PAID subscription. Unacceptable. Turn off all ads for paid subscribers, or make it free..Version: 5.57.0

Good app but…The price to subscribe for the news is way too expensive. And if you do pay the astronomical price you still get ads!.Version: 5.78.0

Opening Advertisement AnnoyingThe opening advertisement they put you through before opening Bloomberg Radio is annoying and often hangs up. The app also does not start playing again after intrruptions and I haft to manually close and re-open and thus go through the annoying advertisement once again. I recently realized I can avoid this by listening to Bloomberg radio through other Radio Apps that simply play the station..Version: 5.50.0

A slow buggy mess that they want to charge you for usingThis used to be such a great app, free business news, track your stocks. Over the years Bloomberg have removed features and hidden stuff behind pay walls. At the same time the app has become buggy and very slow even on a fast phone. It crashes more often than not..Version: 5.43.0

Unfortunately another biased news source tilting leftGood layout and breadth of information but leans heavily left which should make one question their analysis and conclusions..Version: 5.50.0

Radio needs frequent reloading after pausingPlease improve the pause function when listening to radio. Currently if I pause content to use my phone for something else I cannot simply I pause and resume listening. Instead I have to reload the whole page. It’s very frustrating. Other radio apps don’t have this issue. Content is great so please iron out this bug..Version: 5.90.0

Rip offThe app doesn’t recognize my subscription, which I have had for years. The app keeps denying access saying I have used all the free articles..Version: 5.59.0

Too many adsThis is a paid subscription. More than 50% of screen space is taken up by annoying ads making it almost impossible to read an article on the phone app. Seriously Bloomberg get your act together this is embarrassing..Version: 5.68.0

App crashes continuoslyThis and the apple tv app have to be the worst apps for crashing - particularly when going to ads - then device requires a restart of the machine for the app to reset and start up again..Version: 5.89.1

Quite expensive the access to basic functionsAfter the recent update, access to many functions is now subject to subscription: here in Canada at 45$/month. Frankly speaking too high for a home user of this application..Version: 5.69.0

Excellent content but bad app user experienceFew major issues with the app 1- plays video ad randomly and on high volume. Imagine you are reading your news in the air port or coffeeshop and suddenly something is playing. You cannot find exactly what it is. Sometimes I had to close the app. I set the setting to never auto play a video, but still it does it. We are paying a premium for this service and my expectation is to not see aggressive adds. 2- app content doesn’t update some times. I have to close the app and open it. 3- it is very narrowly customized to my reading history. I.e., Over fitting. Now I only see few topics.Version: 5.64.0

IOS 14.6 App constantly freezesJust installed this a couple days ago. The news articles and stock tools are top notch. Still trying to navigate through everything; however this APP constantly freezes every few minutes. Consequently, unless this is quickly fixed, i will have to ditch this APP and cancel my paid subscription. Thing is, i see this being a common theme here in the APP review section over this last month. Evidently, it is affecting only IOS, from what i can decipher. So Bloomberg, hopefully you can get this resolved soon or there will definitely soon be an exodus of IOS users departing from your APP Store revenue stream. Please get the fixed..Version: 5.58.0

Ads for paid subscribers?A paid subscriber here. Going into any article you would see ads in the middle of it. Very disappointed….Version: 5.65.0

Good app but drains battery - fix itGood app but it drains battery - I only use it to read the news occasionally and yet it is the app which shows as using the most battery in my iPhone settings (14% just through background activity). I’ve deleted the app until they fix this.Version: 5.25.0

Back office could be betterThis is a good source of news, however: There is no way to modify the GUI: The fonts are way too small and pinching is not available to increase their size on the screen. The back button is stuck at the lower left, out of reach for holding an iPad with two hands. The amount of news is actually a little sparse, considering Bloomberg must publish stories every few minutes. And the ads are fairly atrocious, frequently large, locked in place so that the news must scroll over them, and not really relevant to either the article or in my opinion a business targeted audience. Other than that, not bad :).Version: 4.5.0

Watchlists are erased without warning! This was a nasty surprise. Why weren’t we notified that it would happen? Then it turned out we had to register in order to get them back. Never mind not telling us we also needed to upgrade to the new version. After doing so and accessing to watchlists again, it appears that they are not at all the current ones. In my case, they were 4 years old!! And that’s not all: After manually and painstakingly updating the watchlist to its current contents, I realise that when tapping on a stock in the general view and unfolding the details (global/daily profit & losses), the app shows the data from 4 years ago! That stock was sold a long time ago. Nothing seems to fix this. Not deleting the stock and re-entering it with its current data, and not even entering it into a brand new watchlist. Gross, disappointing inadequacy from Bloomberg. Please address this asap..Version: 5.25.0

Video and audio always out of syncIn the Apple TV app, the video and audio are continuously out of sync. As soon as you correct it, the next speaker is out of sync. It was not a problem in the past, but now is almost unwatchable. The longer it runs the worse it becomes. Accordingly, I canceled my subscription. I periodically check back to see if the problem has been resolved, and I am continually disappointed. I would like to subscribe again, but will not pay for mediocrity, especially from a company so fundamentally integrated with technology..Version: 5.84.0

Recently, the app just evaporates from viewFrom a paid subscriber using an iPad Air: A few months back the Bloomberg app began simply dropping off the screen (leaving me at my "home" screen). This seems to happen when I press a link to open a new page (story, video, chart, etc.). The failure rate is about one in four or five attempts. This problem is unique to Bloomberg ... other apps work correctly. It's very frustrating to use the app now and since no "fix" has appeared in several month's I think it's time to unsubscribe..Version: 5.12.11

Ads ruin the reading experienceI pay more than $400 a year for a Bloomberg subscription, because I value the quality of their reporting. Unfortunately the ads they serve in this app makes we wonder if it's worth it. I've been trying to use this app on my iPad Pro for the past year, and have finally given up and gone back to a desktop browser, as the ads totally ruin the reading experience. Loading a page, and having it constantly reformatting in order to fit in ads as I'm scrolling the text, breaks my concentration, and ends up destroying the value that I think I'm paying for - the ability to read the content. Most pages contain more ads than content. At least on a desktop I can use ad block to work around this..Version: 5.60.0

App makes my phone overheatRecently this app started making my phone overheat. I’m not sure why, it happens when you’re just reading articles (not even watching videos). I’m using an iPhone 11 mini on iOS 15.1.Version: 5.62.0

Scam!!Be ware, cancelling your subscription is so hard, they keep blocking your account several times so you can’t do it. Took me 8 attempts and an hour of my life. Can’t unsubscribe from the app neither. I thought they were honest and reputable people... doesn’t look like it.Version: 5.31.0

Far Too ComplacentThe new app tries to persuade you to subscribe after reading 10 articles per month, for some stupid sum. I don’t bother but instead delete it and reload it. What’s surprising is how limited the quality of journalism is for something wanting to justify a pay wall. The thing is already saturated with ads, as is the TV feed. Looks like Bloomberg have abandoned journalism to sell their tools, lifestyle junk etc. Probably a good idea as they can’t touch The Economist et al for financial journalism. I guess everything changes in time but it’s a shame..Version: 5.18.0

Very limitedThe free app is basically useless. Can’t check historical info on stocks and market..Version: 5.77.1

Bad reading experienceNumerous ads and placement of ads all over the article makes reading for a subscriber very very difficult. The number of ads running on your mobile and iPad deteriorate the performance so quickly and eventually shutting down the app. That makes no sense to subscribe to an app where you can only read at < 50% efficiency with so much interruptions..Version: 5.65.0

Pay wallThe whole app is now behind a paywall you can’t even get a quote on the nasdaq, this stuff is free on thousands of websites for free… been using this app for 10+ years very dissapointed.Version: 5.61.0

Fix App Live TV AdsCan someone please explain the live tv ad algorith?! When live streaming via web, there are limited ads and the live markets keep flipping over on the screen. This is great as I can track markets without changing screens. On the app though (same goes for the Smart TV app too), each time these live markets start flipping, I get the Bloomberg TV ad on repeat until the live tv show continues. What possible value does this add to Bloomberg? Advertising to an already paying customer while hurting my user experience has a higher probability of my finding an alternative content provider than spending more on Bloomberg. Don’t get me wrong, I understand that ads are important to fund the organisation, but showing the same ad on repeat 15 times in a row while I am using the product that is being advertised is just plain stupid. If you don’t have ads to show, just show the live programming. What’s more is, now I don’t get to follow market movements while watching TV so now I need to switch between apps to follow market movements too. It is seriously annoying. I am a big fan of your content but if this is what I have to endure there are alternatives which is less annoying..Version: 5.14.0

Good data, average articles.I find the Bloomberg app a great place to go to get market information. As they introduce more charts and charting options it gets better. But I find the articles have deteriorated over the years. They tend to offer little insight, carry increasing amounts of press hyperbole, and these days, a political element. I’d like news and unbiased insight and analysis. It seems we don’t get much of that anymore. When you know the relevant markets you can spot the hyperbole, when you don’t it can be tougher to see. So now I’d rather not read an article in an area I know little about, in case I am being mis-directed. I feel Bloomberg used to be much better than that..Version: 4.5.0

Similar layout to website but more clunkyNavigating the application is pretty much the same as browsing Bloomberg on a desktop. Unfortunately, articles are regularly filled with annoying advertisements, for paying subscribers. The application also consumes a lot of battery power and is often erratic. The FT app & website are significantly better than Bloomberg’s..Version: 5.72.0

Everything now behind a pay wallMost data is now hidden behind a pay wall including stock charts but it’s available for free on the Internet and other apps. They are obviously trying to get you to sign up to the £299 a year subscription. I think Bloomberg have miscalculated here, there is a vast amount of people that will not pay this , Will delete the app and they will lose advertising revenue. You can’t charge content which is free on the Internet eg stock charts and fundamentals. I understand Bloomberg going to charge more for their unique proprietary content but they should have another price just for the app. Think how many developing nation economies have people that want to use the Bloomberg app as well as all those people have portfolios in the region of 100,000 $150,000, they just are not going to pay these fees to use the app. What Bloomberg should be aiming for with an app is to 100 million people at $25 a year subscription. how many developing nations have people that want to use the Bloomberg app as well as all those people have portfolios in the region of 100,000 $150,000, they just are not going to pay the fees to use the app. What Bloomberg should be aiming for with an app is to sell 100 million people at $20 a year. Come on Bloomberg you’re not thinking! Have multiple tiers for people that just want basic chart data etc..Version: 5.65.0

Switch BackBefore the recent update, there is a lengthy list of news from different sections (including Most Read section), and one need to scroll down for quite some time to get to the bottom of it, which makes the app addictive. But, in the recently updated version, there is just a For You page, and that’s it, beyond the trending news section, and you can literally read through all headlines under 5 minutes. I can notice a significant drop in my Average Time Spent on the app as a result of this change. In essence, I don’t see how the newly updated version is benefiting Bloomberg’s readership retention rate & engagement metrics..Version: 5.58.0

Losing fucntionalityThey try and try to get me to subscribe. When I do all the g10 government bond data has disappeared from the App. You also used to be able to look at a fund or fund of funds and drill through the holdings you can do that anymore. It shows the list of holdings but when you then touch those holdings nothing happens. I am cancelling my subscription. Going to try Reuters or Microsoft money. And they are free..Version: 5.16.0

Ads on a paid service is greedyI really enjoy the content that Bloomberg provides but that has been completely overshadowed by the invasion of ads. As a paying subscriber I do not want to be flooded with ads. For a news service that is so expensive, it is absurd to also force ads into your news. It feels cheap to have clickbait slapping you across the face three times per article. There are plenty of consumer financial news that can easily match that of Bloomberg however I really appreciated the content their staff produced. It is a disservice to the writers and everyone else working on the platform by forcing their content to be smeared with ads. Please make a clean and unadulterated reader and you will have a five star review as well as my subscription back..Version: 5.14.2

Be careful with subscription policy - predatoryBe very careful. Trial offer becomes an annual subscription that you cannot exit or get a refund for until your annual sign up date. Not worth the annual fee for what amounts to a lot of personal opinion pieces..Version: 5.78.0

Lifetime user finally gave up on thisI've been a user of this app since 2006. I've seen a lot of features and news and data and charts be removed since its high point. The watchlist has been near useless for anything except a total, not accepting edits, only additions, when it functions at all. It's about as far from user-friendly and elegant as I can imagine. Shameful considering how dense and useful their screens used to be. The latest update just crashes on iOS 10 and that's the end of the line for my phone. As a lifelong Bloomberg Professional user, this free app was the first thing on my home screen. Now it's garbage..Version: 4.5.0

Loud Auto-Play AdsWarning: This app AUTO-PLAYS banner ads WITH SOUND! There’s of course no mute button half the time, and Bloomberg likes it that way since it encourages accidental ad clicks. So you have to force-quit the app. Downgrading to 1 star until you fix this tabloid mess. Totally inexcusable for paying customers. You also can’t highlight text at all, what a joke. What to define a word with the built-in iOS dictionary? Want to paste a quote into a note? Well Bloomberg thinks they’re too special to allow highlighting, so you can’t. Now all you need to do is get rid of the ugly purple color scheme and go back to orange like you already do on your TV interface..Version: 5.64.0

Bloomberg App quotes Wrong Price!I hold units in the Tilney Growth Portfolio Clean Acc (GBP) and I know since the recent revisions at Tilney following their take over of Bestinvest, the daily unit price quoted via the Bloomberg app is markedly wrong! This is even after both Tilney and I have alerted Bloomberg on numerous occasions! Pity because the app is otherwise very good, only now I can not trust the data for all shares/units and forced to validate it via other sources. Please Bloomberg correct the data for the said fund..Version: 5.28.0

Performance is UnacceptableBloomberg News and the journalists reporting it are second to none but this is not where the 1 star is coming from. This app’s performance is terrible. The ads coming in at a rapid pace while reading an article jumbled the words all around and makes it hard to hold your place in the article. On top of this the massive processing power this takes will overheat your device and drain the battery quicker than any other non-gaming app. Considering Bloomberg can cost up to $35 a month this performance and ad invasiveness is unacceptable and until that changes I would not recommend using your phone to view Bloombergs content..Version: 5.62.0

Good StockMarkets app but...Good one-stop app covering the financial markets and first with the news, but has become too openly political and opinionated on non-financial issues. It used to focus objectively on facts but now it’s content is cluttered with irrelevant editorials that have nothing to do with investment..Version: 5.31.0

Bloomberg Audio / Radio review onlyI primarily use the app to listen to the live radio stream. The content, guests, and hosts are world class and if only reviewing them it would be an easy five stars. The issues that drag down the rating is the incessant amount of ads, especially irrelevant ads that repeat themselves. Understood you need ads to generate revenue, but it could be better organized to meet your targets and keep a listener happy. Worst part is the timing of the ads often cuts into the commentary making you miss vital information. Second the app draws a disproportionate amount of battery. I’m using a 1 year old iPhone 11 so it should be fine and don’t have this issue on even video streaming apps..Version: 5.35.0

Stop adding and removing features.Right now half the screen is seemingly permanently asking me to choose sections to follow. I have done my selections. Stop asking my to chose. It is a ridiculous waste of screen real estate. Secondly, “the Bulletin” come and goes with no apparent reason. It’s a good news flow section. Please return it once again..Version: 5.65.0

JokeI really hope they paid nothing to the designer of this app. It looks and feels like it came out of 2 buck Christmas Cracker! I use everything Bloomberg including subscribe to there magazine. Not anymore!!!!!! Let me tell you. Even there TV show in Asian has gone down hill. I also emailed Bloomberg with know reply. Hardly a professional outfit anymore, but whoever approved the upgrade of this App, needs to get off the crack!.Version: 3.0

Retrograde versionConsidering that the previous ap version was near to perfection. The latest version is terrible to the extent I no longer wish to read Bloomberg on my iPhone. A great shame..Version: 4.0

WatchlistSTILL can't get NZ stocks. Why did you guys ruin what was a perfectly good app? Also, if you write a review and the nickname is taken you have to rewrite your review. Apple you are becoming the Nokia of the tech world. Bloomberg, u2 are really slipping.Version: 3.0

Can’t Afford the APPI really enjoy Bloomberg. I can afford the TV channel and listen to it on Sirius with my lifetime membership. I would really like to read and see videos on their app I find the app very unaffordable and quite useless unless you pay. I am considering deleting it because shares very little information without payment. Not interested in a trial to tease me into payment..Version: 6.2.0

No longer works unless you’re paying for itThe app no longer gives information on companies, like industry, market cap and charts. You need to pay for the most basic of functions. The app is rendered virtually useless now. CNBC & Yahoo Finance are way better options.Version: 5.64.0

Listed companies financials and technical analysisI would like to have access to more financial details of the listed companies and technical analysis and since your service is paid I really appreciate to have less ads while watching market reports.Version: 5.68.0

Good, but font is too smallSeriously, just let us increase the size of the font so it is possible to read and we will be very happy.Version: 4.6.0

Poor performanceApp rarely opens, when it dies open it is very slow. Disappointing performance. I deleted it..Version: 5.60.0

DisappointedI pay for the Bloomberg channel with my Charter television subscription. When I watch the channel I also put up with all of the advertising. When I try to watch the Bloomberg channel on my mobile devices they say they limit me to 30 minutes per day and this still includes the commercials. Charging a fee to mobile users and still having commercials on the channel is double dipping if not triple dipping when considering my Charter fee. I recommend watching alternative business news channels where you currently only pay once. Bloomberg is not that special and has become another sales channel for them to sell their their software services..Version: 5.10.0

Not as good as it wasBloomberg once was a leading phone app providing market information. It was a resource we could share by sending links to third party groups, who could read the article because in the past Bloomberg allowed non-subscribers 4-8 free articles. This was good advertising for Bloomberg. This is not an option today. And Bloomberg is no longer a go-to resouce..Version: 5.44.0

Good for Checking SharesIf you want to keep an eye on several shares, this is easy to use and well-designed. The news part is unrelentingly anti-Brexit, however, which is consistent with the FT and the Economist, but still, an almighty pain. On Bloomberg, the news must be viewed as if through gauze, with a squint and a pinch of salt..Version: 4.4.3

Canceling a subscription is tediousAmazing you can sign up with a couple of clicks. But be prepared to spend some quality time on your phone to cancel your subscription. First they give you a link that you can’t select on your phone. It’s just out reach no matter how you turn your phone or shrink or enlarge the screen. Next you sign in twice with your password to chat with a single minded AI system. It won’t let you just cancel. It has offer after offer to try to get a yes from you to continue your subscription and the support never gets back in touch with you. Don’t sign up for subscription unless you plan to have it for life..Version: 5.50.0

This new version disables access to some marketsI updated to this new version that was supposed to have extra features. However this version no longer has access to New Zealand stocks so now the whole app is a complete waste of time. Very annoying an frustrating. I don't trust Bloomberg any more..Version: 3.0

Pop upsThis app used to be really useful, however now there are pop up adds every time you use a screen which in my opinion has rendered it useless, don't bother with it You have to sign in every time you open it if you want to view your watch list, which you can no longer edit, whichever moron decided this was a good idea needs sacking.Version: 5.0.1

A great app from a great companyI was excited to see an update to the app because it has been such a pain. All in all, to sum it up: great content terrible after delivery. Lots of user interface bugs. The Apple TV version is also similar in that it has excellent world class content with poor streaming delivery and difficult navigation. Certainly keeps me at bay from being a casual subscriber. I have used the app and enjoyed the content for a long period of time. You’d think they would eventually get it together and do some testing before rolling it out. I’m a big fan of the Bloomberg organization and the reporters, anchors and content creators but when it comes to app development, testing and quality control, there seems to be an anti-Apple virus or something because it just is too much for too long period of time..Version: 4.5.2

New FormatDo not like the new digital version.Version: 5.62.0

Buggy appLove the content but the I find the app buggy. I was forced to switch from the B-Radio app to this app and ever since I have incurred way more commercials. The preroll ads are very annoying because if I am listening to a radio show and the app or stream drops I am forced to watch another preroll ad before reengaging. Sometimes I am hit with a preroll ad, then more ads and then finally several mins later I get to the content. Vs if I open up iHeartRadio I can immediately start streaming. I find that my streaming radio drops/the radio function fails all the time while I am at home on WiFi. No idea why as I don’t have the same issues with other services..Version: 5.12.6

DO NOT ACCEPT LIMITED-TIME OFFERSBloomberg is great but if you accept a limited time offer, you will be charged their regularly rate (like $50.00 USD per month) because cancelling your subscription is nearly impossible. Their app-based cancellation directs you to a link that says you have no subscriptions and their phone support has twice not picked up after 2 hours on hold. This has been a horrible experience for me..Version: 5.38.0

PLEASE UPDATE ASAP 👇🏻 , thanks10+ FREE articles limit every month doesn’t refresh for me , always stays at last number was up to in previous month Please fix issue , cause everything tried to fix doesn’t work for me Thanks Bloomberg teams.Version: 5.14.2

Text Column Spacing Makes it Unreadable. There is no spacing between text lines and no ability to make text larger. Garbage if you have to work hard and squint to read!.Version: 5.85.0

Saturated in ads .. even for paid subs .. terribleI have an expensive annual unlimited digital sub, and am still SATURATED in ads. 1 large ad to every story, or very close to it. I’m going to cancel my sub. Too many better and cheaper options, such as the WSJ app..Version: 5.81.2

App causes iPhone to crashBloomberg really need to get this app fixed It constantly causes my iPhone 12 Pro to heat up and crash like most other recent comments. This is not a one off occurrence, it happens daily.Version: 5.64.0

Used to be goodIf you want to sit through 90% of commercials and 10% actual business news, then this app is for you. The app used to be great when you could get excellent business and world news as well as top notch market commentary; however, you now have to listen to commercial after commercial until you get a quick market update or some nugget news before the commercials start again. I’ve deleted and downloaded this app several times hoping “this time it will be different,” but it’s still the same. It’s too bad because I used to rely on Bloomberg for update date business news..Version: 5.14.0

Subscription makes this app uselessMust give more without subscribing; add revenue should be enough. Greediness is not attractive..Version: 6.8.0

Very good but...Really useful format and information. I run two lists. The more recent one runs well. However my original list does not allow me to save changes (the link is non-responsive) whereas I do not have this issue on the later list. Strange!?!.Version: 5.12.8

Update is horribleStill more of the same. Opened app and the first 2 articles are hit pieces on republicans. What happened to financial news? The last update changed the look so that now I feel like I am mostly seeing left leaning op ed articles. This is completely unacceptable for what is supposed to be a business news site. It used to be a good site for fairly objective news that explained the economy. Now it should be filed with CNN, ap, yahoo and other yellow left leaning journalism. Objective news is getting to be a relic of the past in favor of tilted news to either side. Shame Bloomberg. Close to deleting..Version: 4.5.2

Overheats my iPad through excessive adsThis app causes my iPad Pro (2021 Model) to overheat, which eats battery and eventually causes the iPad to reduce brightness, likely in order to control temperature. This occurs while reading articles, which I pay for, I have a subscription. I’d speculate that this is smth to do with problems loading the profuse advertising because some ads leave a blank space, scattered throughout articles; or perhaps some are crypto miners?? The overheating doesn’t occur while using the watchlist functionality, which *thankfully* isn’t laden with ads…. The iOS battery monitor confirms excessive power use by this app. It doesn’t happen with others; my hands can feel the heat anyway! This app also *still* doesn’t support dark mode for nighttime reading without disturbing your spouse… Being subject to excessive advertising is a thing we’re sadly all accustomed to these days, but pushing those ads at such a rate on your paying subscribers - and going as far as damaging user experience in the process - is really quite pitiful!. Unless this gets fixed in time, I certainly won’t be renewing my subscription! There are better options for most everything this app does anyway….Version: 5.73.0

Interesting content. Costly subscription doesn’t remove AdsI’ve been enjoying the news digitally on iOS and MacOS. After signing up for the costly subscription I still see advertisements in the app and on the website which is disturbing considering a premium price. The watch list seems appealing to me so far but it would in fact be better to improve the summary and overview capabilities of the listings for small device screens. Perhaps allowing landscape format could help some situations..Version: 5.5.1

Beware if you need supportGot a subscription on a promotion and eager to use. However could never get the app to sync with my password. Possibly an issue of using hide my email from Apple with the app. The app sort of hung when I tried to link my account number too. Spent over an hour trying to sync the credentials from my iPhone browser to the app before contacting help. Help / support seems to take the night off….. when you are able to get to it. Don’t expect much from the chat - it will just the info down and give you a ticket number..Version: 5.78.0

EdOn no account download this highly destructive update. All that was good about the old app has been taken away. I am also a Bloomberg professional customer and, for me Bloomberg have significantly tarnished their reputation with this behaviour. They need to reflect on the damage they have done incl to some of their highly profitable customers They have just updated the app and made it even worse than it was before, don’t bother Yahoo has a better one!.Version: 5.12.13

Not WorthyThis app is no longer worthy of being considered a true Bloomberg product. While it may deliver relevant content, its stability has deteriorated to the point that it affects how other apps work. At least weekly, I have to shut down and restart my iPad to get BBW+ to work properly. Pages close without warning, ads pop up and rearrange the page, and some pages don’t even load until the app is forced closed and restarted, or the device restarted. I finally deleted this app and started a print-duplicate subscription via ZINIO..Version: 5.28.0

DisappointedI didn't expect ads with paid subscription.Version: 5.57.0

Not the sameUsed to be that you could read 3 free articles per month, now it seems you can only read 1. They now entice you into a cheap trial period before cranking up the subscription to a crazy amount. It really is a shame, considering they have some good articles..Version: 5.71.0

Too many adsI’ve used the BB app for years and seen a gradual deterioration of content available, especially for non subscribers. The ads are ridiculous. Right in your face non-stop. And very very spammy. The free content available to no -subscribers has also gradually dwindled to almost unusable status. Cannot even see price histories anymore for basic things like FX. Disappointing. Articles are great but not worth the subscription price..Version: 5.77.0

Poorly explained and defended view pointsThey only give a one-sided views on everything happening. The demonize and take quotes out of context of people they don’t like or agree with. Just because you don’t agree with someone doesn’t mean you can demonize them by taking there quotes out of context. Very sad to see more fake news in the news circle, but I shouldn’t be surprised by it... won’t be recommending or using from now on unless they change to showing facts as facts, stop demonizing people they don’t care for or agree with, and give more than just a liberal view of events happening in today’s world..Version: 5.12.18
