A lot better with the 3.0 updateWorks nicely, especially now you can rename the memos. Being able to email them is particularly handy. Just waiting on the documentation to update to find out how the wifi desktop sync works ;).Version: 0

Fabulous applicationI really like this application and it is truly fabulous. However, I would love to see some improvements. 1.) An option where you can listen to the message through the iPhone earpiece and not the mouthpiece speakers. This will enable you to listen to your message privately without those around you hearing what you may not have meant for them to hear. It also provides the ability to hear in crowded situations. 2.) The ability to send the memo file via e-mail instead of receiving the message on a website. The website option is a fabulous idea however, there are some that prefer to have the file itself so that they may play in on there own computer using the Apple format... QuickTime. Other than this I can really see nothing at the moment that would need improvement. This is truly a fabulous piece of software and I congratulate the writers. Nice job!.Version: 0

Amazing quality! So simple to use and you can email them now too as MP3 (apparently). What more do you need? :).Version: 0

Excellent appRecorder works exactly as advertised. I've used it several times in the few days since making the purchase. It's amazing how often you just need to leave a verbal note for yourself or send a friend a voice message by email. The email feature is simple to use and speedy on 3G; and, if you follow the developers download instructions on the memo retrieval site (i.e., where you end up if you click the link in the email and read the FAQs), you can store the file on your computer and use iTunes to convert from aiff to mp3. You now have a voice file that can permanently reside on your iPod/Phone. Imagine capturing a message from grandma or the kids at one point in time. I'm sure there are other ways to achieve the same result, but this is your best bet if all you have is your phone and 99 cents..Version: 0

Works great for outgoing calls onlyI just made a number of outgoing recorded calls and personal memos (ambient room conversation recordings) and it worked great!! Quality of recording and ease of use are wonderful. You can turn off the "call is being recorded" announcement (a major plus for states where only one party needs to consent to recording a call) and both calls and recordings are crystal clear on 3G. Caller ID shows my own phone number. No issues at all with recorded audio. Sync via wifi is a necessary feature and worked perfectly for me. Format is AIFF so it loads into iTunes when you play it on a computer. Only flaw I found is a big one, though. DOESN'T WORK ON INCOMING CALLS!! Again, Outgoing calls and personal memos/room recordings work great, but no functionality to record incoming calls. Recording incoming calls is a necessary feature and should be a priority for the next update!.Version: 10.6.2

Simple and solid. Very reliable.I've downloaded several recorder apps, and all but this one have disappointed me. I've used Recorder to record sensitive phone calls, interview hi-profile clients, and document important meetings. To me, the most important thing is that the recorder DOESN'T FAIL in a sensitive (i.e. one shot) situation. When your phone logs out, or if you exit and use other apps, the recorder KEEPS GOING. The status bar of your phone glows red so you know it is still recording even when your phone is outside of the password screen. Totally solid, and barely any battery drain. I've read some of the negative reviews here, and maybe some people just expect everything for free, but buying recording time is really affordable and completely worth it. I would label this one of my few irreplaceable apps, because you never know when you are going to need it. It's simple and awesome. The only drawback is that you can't email a file over 5MB, which most of your recordings will be, but you can connect through WiFi and offload them to your computer. Make sure to do this in case you lose your phone. Future updates should allow File Transfer through iTunes as some of its competitors do..Version: 10.6.2

PROBLEM FOR THE DEVELOPERS, PLEASE FIX!!So here's the problem. When I record and receive a text message or a phone call, the recording stops. But that's not the problem. The "memo" that was interupted does not show a length of time, only size and the time started. Soooo, what happens when I try to WiFi link it and download it on my computer, the computer does NOT see that memo! And apparently, if it's a large audio file, I can't email it either!!! PLEASE, PLEASE FIX THIS!!! I love your product, except for this issue. In the mean time, I guess the work around would be putting the phone in "airplane mode". But that is a far second to getting this app to work correctly. Thanks in advance!.Version: 0

Simple, Elegant, Extremely UsefulAs a videogame journalist I often need to conduct interviews with gaming industry figures. I've been through a number of audio recording devices in an effort to make it simple to record conversations for later transcription, and even the $200 dedicated handheld machines aren't as easy to use or simplistically useful as Recorder. For only one dollar you get an almost utilitarian program that records any length of audio (with surprisingly fantastic audio fidelity) that can then be uploaded to your computer via wifi or played back via the iPhone's speakers or earbuds. I love that I can simply set my iPhone on a table, hit record, then conduct a conversation that will be picked up without flaws, even with those who speak far more quietly than they should. It doesn't quite get a perfect score, though. One feature missing is the ability to record phone calls made with the iPhone. I have to conduct interviews via phone pretty often and not having to type while speaking (so as to not miss crucial details) would be a huge boon. Even without that though, Recorder is totally worth the low price of admission. Even if you don't need it professionally, a single dollar is a steal for a program that lets you take voice notes when you're out running errands..Version: 0

Much better.Update: Not only did the developer respond promptly to my e-mail (!), a fix for the problem described below was already in the works, it is now available (v6.x), and has solved the problem. This app is now, in my opinion, the best of the (simple) recorder apps. I do have one other issue I hope the developer will consider addressing: The recording currently playing will lose its focus if you touch another recording. At that point, you cannot determine which recording is playing. I suggest maybe a "play/pause" button be located to the left of the recording name that will always remain active for the currently playing recording - even when the currently playing recording looses its focus. Something like the way iTunes addresses the same issue. ========= I am with Phily Jeff on this: The app records fine, but I just cannot get to the rename/email screen. No matter how or where I touch the "blue arrow", all it does is play the recording. Yep, Jeff -- very frustrating. I have emailed the developer and will update my review depending on the outcome..Version: 0

A FavoriteI'm a singer/songwriter. I use this app to record song ideas when I'm driving or walking. It is my favorite app for this purpose. I've used it through many versions. I use "free" features only. I do not record calls. Minor issues as in version current Sep. 28, 2011: (1) editing song title with bluetooth keyboard, the button that gets me back to the recordings list disappears until I shut my bluetooth keyboard off (2) switch between trimming track & editing title: landscape-portrait switch annoying because I prefer to lay my phone on counter and not have to hold it..Version: 10.6.1

Great Buy and a good dealFor .99 a month and thirteen bucks for eight hours of outgoing call recordings, the Recorder 10 is a great deal. Go out and price a digital recorder and all the accessories you need to record a clear telephone audio file and you will realize what a bargain it really is. I'm a writer and I just did a one hour and seven minute interview yesterday and I used the I-Pod ear buds and in line mic. The recording is as clear as a bell. And the Recorder 10 application is so easy to use, even a cave man could do it...:) Anyone who complains about the cost of this recorder and being charged for minutes should probably stick a pencil and notepad...We're talking about pennies per minute here...Five Stars!.Version: 0

Great Voice Recorder!I had this app since it's been released. It works great. Never shuts down sporadically as some other voice recording apps do. Syncs easily with my MacBook in minimal number of action steps. It doesn't require any extra software installation, it syncs using the Bonjour protocol. The recording quality is outstanding when set to High. The noise cancellation is greatly improved in recent versions. The user interface is simple and clear. The notes management is very easy task in this app. I recommend this app to everyone, who needs to record voice whether it is a short note or a long interview, whether it is recorded in noisy or in quiet environment. It saves me a lot of time and keeps my head clear..Version: 0

Excellent valueI needed an app to record sound effects for the app I am developing. This is the perfect tool to help me get the files I need into my project quickly..Version: 0

Why people are giving a 1-star ratingThere seem to be a lot of iPod touch owners who download this app and think it will turn their media player directly into a recording device. The iPod Touch does not have a built-in microphone. This is common sense- you can't record something without a microphone. The iPhone has a microphone, and this app works really well. The high quality mode encodes in AIFF format. If you have an iPod Touch, be sure you can use your microphone with a free recording app before buying this nicer program. People are giving this app a 1-star rating because it magically does not add a microphone to the iPod Touch. Ignorance and spite are a dangerous combination..Version: 0

Works great for me…various 'PhonesAre use it all the time for speech and music rehearsal recording… Never have had a problem The Wi-Fi download is very handy… I only wish it preserved date and time stamp (which are very handy to have, thank you) Thank you!.Version: 12.0.1

Nice updateI've been delighted with this program from day one. The level meter in the update isn't just for looks. It gas helped a great deal, a eliminated worry about recording quality. Excellent, developers. For those wondering about recording phone conversations, the developers would have to deal with some touch stuff. If you record a phone call in a two-party (you and the caller must be in the know) consent state, if you don't make it known you're recording (even if the conversation is with your beloved mother) it ain't legal. Believe me, as a newspaper newsfeature witer specializing in investigative projects, I'd *love to have the ability to record phone interviews, but I've long learned I mostly have to live without. Nice job, developers. Thanks for the update..Version: 0

Useful productA great little application that I make good use of. A shame the iPhone didn't Come with one in the first place. Could be improved with the ability to rename sound files..Version: 0

Brilliant saves carrying a recorder around.Excellent and dead simple to use. It means one less gadget (Minicorder) to carry about and this program is fast and easy to operate.Looks very flashy too! I never realised what the iphone could do until I started looking at it carefully and realised that a gadget I nearly gave up on (PDA's/Smartphones have always stressed me out) is one of the best aids to productivity ever and once you fine tune it to your needs it is brilliant - just read the manual! I am just wondering now how many other apps are on the site to save me a bundle of time and stress..Version: 0

Does what it says on the tinPretty good but how about renaming and some more options?.Version: 0

Love the improvements!!Interviewing is part of my job so having this app on my phone is incredibly handy!! The improvements that the app has undergone over the last 6-8 months has really increased the usefulness of this app in particular the inclusion of recording meters, high quality settings and the ability to move recordings from the phone to your desktop using email or WiFi. Definitely meets all my professional needs..Version: 0

Works very wellThough there are free aplications that are very similar to this..... I found this one to work a bit better for me, and for a buck I don't mind paying for the extra functionality..Version: 0

Excellent app. Well worth the small price. As a PR/marketing guy, I frequently take interviews over the phone to write my articles. The recording quality is excellent and the iPhone microphone easily picks up people talking over my speaker phone. I can now get rid of my 20 year old microtape recorder and just use my iPhone. The email function is limited to 5 mins worth of recording, so that's of small use. But the inclusion of the Wifi function is simply genius. Now I can directly transfer my 15-30 mins of interviews and save them on my PC, and then slice and dice the file for any use that I need. Thanks for putting this app together..Version: 0

New sync featureVery impressed with new sync feature, much better for getting large clips to your mac / pc - using a web browser !.Version: 0

Nice!!Easy to use, fun and only 59p!! Nice one! Would be good though if u could edit names rather than everything as memo 1,2,3 etc. Update soon maybe?.Version: 0

Tweeting Audio New PossibilitiesI have had this app since the very beginning when it first appeared on the app store with the original iPhone. When the Voice Memo app came with the 3GS, I thought this app was dead. Far from it. This app has always been one if not several steps ahead of the native iPhone app. Sound quality is better hands down. And now with the new Tweet option, that's so cool. I can now record a short conversation or do an interview withe call recording feature and share it on Twitter as soon as I'm done. Too cool. The icon might not be the prettiest thing out there, but this app has been solid for the 2 1/2 years I've had it. And although I haven't even tried to share with Garage Band, the capability is there, possibilities keep going. You won't regret the 99 cents. One of the few apps I have that keep getting upgraded for so little money..Version: 0

Cheap but crap UIAfter other voice recorders, I got for this one because of the Wifi sync and email, the features that other recorders are missing. It needs alot better UI, the Record button is a bit too large and no Pause button when recording. The editing of a recording name is hit and miss, sometimes the recording will start playing in stead. Maybe you could adopt the method of where you select the recording and options appear to Rename, Play and the big record button changes to Stop, Pause, FF and Rewind buttons, Info, Email, Delete etc... 5* because it's cheap and has features which make it unique. Sometimes I wish I developed the UI's for these apps but sadly I don't know how to code, yet!!!.Version: 0

Great little appBrilliant works as it says on the tin.Version: 0

Recorder is king!I've tried all the iPhone voice recording apps. Recorder was one of the first, and is still the best for making quick recordings on the go with an absolute minimum of fuss. Transferring audio files over wi-fi works flawlessly. If you want more features, give one of the others a try. But Recorder is the recording app I always reach for. Update: Tried the new Voice Memos app that comes with the 3.0 software update. Still prefer Recorder. Transferring sound files via wireless ftp is much easier than emailing individual recordings. Long recordings would also be very tough to email from the iPhone. Voice Memos has a much cooler microphone logo, but Recorder is a superior audio recorder..Version: 0

Dancer guyGreat app. Needed app for recording a dance solo on the spot at rehearsal. Filtered out background noise and picked up piano beautifully. Well impressed!.Version: 0

Great App, far superior to othersWhile I think the sound quality could improve, this app is flawless in its interface and design. The Wi-Fi sync feature is excellent, overall it's well worth the small price you pay..Version: 0

Great for a songwriter & for easy wifi transfer to desktopI am a songwritinger/ singer, and this is my favorite recording app so far. Something that I like about this app, is that I can connect up to wifi quickly, and all of my files will be there, ready to download easily. Other apps you have to choose each file and then download, which takes a lot longer. ...there are a couple things that I wish this app would do, and that is to have an option to start recording right away, as sometimes I'm in the car, and I'd like it to just start recording without having to fiddle with too many button selections. I also wish there was a feature to "play all," as sometimes I'd like to listen to all my ideas one after another. I also wish there was a "delete all," so that after I've downloaded through wifi, then I can toss it quickly. ...but all in all, it's still my favorite app for getting my ideas down..Version: 10.6.1

Fantastic app! Huzzah!I've tried almost all the competition, I love being able to take quick voice notes and reminders, but it shines when recording ambient sounds and multiple person conversations, sound quality? Superior to all others I've tried, wifi transfer? Fantastic!.Version: 0

Great appI got this app with my iPod as a voice memo replacement, it's actually pretty damn awesome.Version: 0

ExcellentLovely app. And excellent customer support when I e-mailed them with a query. Best 59p I've spent in a while..Version: 0

Nice app but, as always, foibled by limitationsThis has the potential for being one of the most useful items in my entire household (even outside the iPhone). I am experimenting with using it as a short item dictation machine for letters and writing projects for example. Some suggestions/glitches: - PRIVACY No one in their right mind wants to upload anything to anywhere after all the telecoms sold us out to Cheney & Squad. - the slider jams&freezes very easily when fast forwarding...allow the recording to be named BEFORE it's titled "MEMO" - to email, the upload is ridiculously long and cumbersome... should be able to transfer the recordings to the main computer for storage in iTunes as a MP3 or other file by way of sync or something simple... by creating an MP3 or other standard type file, should be emailable from iPhone without uploading as well... but then the iPhone doesn't handle attachments outgoing DOES IT??!!?$$ Have the app save the recording in the iPhone's iTunes app and then allow it to sync into the computer for storage and access from the computer's Garageband, iTunes etc. etc. I MADE THE RECORDING FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, NOT COLUMBIA RECORDS!!.Version: 0

Great application! Blows away my $50 Sony digital recorder. This is a great application. Simple to use and good quality recordings. I've only used it with the built-in iPhone mic, but even with this, the quality FAR exceeds my $50 Sony digital recorder. Plus, I can download the recordings to my computer which I can't do with the Sony (which is PC only). For recording memos or, as I do, musical ideas, Recorder can't be beat. My only negative is that you can't adjust the input volume. I wrote an email to Retronyms asking about this and received a personal response just six hours later. I was impressed. They say that the iPhone uses a fixed input level. They suggested using an external mic as an option. This only becomes an issue when recording fairly loud jams though. For normal recording, Recorder is just great. For $1, you can't go wrong. Really!.Version: 0

THE BEST QUALITY RECORDINGS ON AN IDEVICEThis is app is literally the best app for recording any audio on an iDevice. Idk what they've done but it comes out with the best sounding recordings for music out of any app I've bought. It's great for musicians who wanna get quick clean live recordings. Just make sure you're not blowing out the mic and for drummers usually the "sweet spot" is about 15-20ft away and maybe muffle the mic with a thin pillow. Absolutely wondrous sound. Can hear every nuance and articulation, same with any other instruments. And for voice calls, it also again reigns supreme! The ONLY gripe I have is not having a dedicated cloud to sync my recordings to without the use of wifi. That would be great cause then the recordings could be uploaded and deleted from your device to make room for new recordings. Not to mention it acts as a backup. Also, so glad you can now pull the files off without wifi, but i wish you didn't HAVE to do it through iTunes. But these are personal opinions, I still think the app deserves 5/5. No problems here, just thumbs up!!.Version: 11.4

Recorder, An Amazing new App!Hi, I am an apple iPhone Dwveloper and a businessman, this App is great for recording my business and corporate Meetings as well as making Notes To Self. I am also taking college Courses in Nuclear Physics and Hoppe to become a Nuclear Physics teacher! I record all lectures and important Class Periods NOTE TO ALL HIGH SCHOOL/COLLEGE STUDENTS: Check with your Principal/headmaster You should not bring your phone and place it on your desk to wait for instruction! Some schools will say "if it transmits information it cannot be in the class, ask them if you could record without a SIM Card and wait for Approval, all students by law must know that they are being recorded, because if they say something that is recorded they can sue You! Note to the VoiceNotes App: Yeah sure it's free but you may only record short notes not long classes email feature will crash your phone, and during the 2.0.2 update people got their phones bricked. Recorder is Highly Reccomended!.Version: 0

GreatThe best recorder app.Version: 0

ApprovedExcellent and flexible little application - useful for all kinds of recording (meeting minutes, memos etc) with a well conceived, simple and elegant interface. 5 stars!.Version: 0

Great for recording audio notesRead all the bad reviews on here so thought I'd chip in. I bought this as a voice recorder only. I've recorded over 200 song ideas on here over the years and it's served me very well. It's the best, most simple recorder I've found. All the bad comments are about recording calls. If you don't need to do this, then get it..Version: 10.6.1

Wow, the capabilitiesGreat quality recording and all around great app. E-mail with a couple touches or if it's too big (5MB, which is around 5 min) wi-fi sync it flawlessly with your laptop (on the same network). A very responsive app. Had a problem that bit me in the .... though. Careful when recording more than 5 minutes where power goes off. Tested it after problem and couldn't replicate the problem under same and many more conditions, meaning it can record fine when it powers itself off. Don't know what happened. Also the forementioned 5MB limit shouldn't be an issue when it's connected to wi-fi but it seems to be. Apple proprietary recorder coming with 3.0 better be perfect for me to use it over this one. Thanks Retronyms!.Version: 0

Good...needs a few improvementsThis is a pretty good App, but I have a few suggestions. The Good: easy to use, cheap, great interface, no trouble with "crashing"/freezing up my iPhone, can change the names of your saved recordings, can rewind/fast forward/pause during playback. Suggestions: 1. You should be able to change the order of your saved recordings, so if you tend to replay the first recording you ever made over and over (but have 20 other saved recordings since the App's first use), you don't have to scroll to the bottom each time to listen to it. You can just move it to the top. 2. Have a "Pause" button during recording, so you can record something...pause (during a lull/something you don't want to hear)...then resume recording. That way you don't have to stop recording each time and have like five saved recordings that really should be streamed together under one saved "memo". 3. And, of course, the iPhone's own capabilities may limit this (b/c it cannot "hear"/record the stream of noise you are trying to capture well enough), but it would be nice if playback of your recordings was louder/clearer. Most of the time you can only faintly hear things that were recorded unless the noise/voice is really close to the microphone. Overall, well worth the money! Buy it! I trust that the developers will listen to our suggestions and run with them!.Version: 0

Better than Apple Voice MemosGreat if you want to record hours long audio. Access your file via URL. No problem dealing with large files. Great app but the new icon is really ugly. Go back to previous one? I almost didn't update to keep the old one..Version: 0

Excellent value! For 99 cents it's hard to find fault about something that does what it says it would do - and then some. I am using the new $79 Apple in-ear headphones w/Mic. My first recording was OK but rather lo-fi sounding. Then I turned on the "High Quality" recording and sang the same thing. WOW! Huge difference! Now I can finally use the iPod touch as I had intended - to make audio notes and record melodies. I then used Bonjour through Safari to transfer my test recordings, which was almost instantaneous. My hat's off to Retronyms - you guys have done an excellent job - can't wait to see further options if any, but this is excellent!.Version: 0

Good sound quality, but some significant limitationsThe sound quality on this thing is great; basically it's exactly what you'd want in a recorder. There are still some problems with manipulating the files, though. I downloaded version 3 earlier this evening, hoping to be able to sync a sound file I'd recorded earlier to the IBook I'm using in a hotel room. * Recorder doesn't sync your memos to ITunes; apparently Apple hasn't provided an interface for this yet * You can email your sound files to yourself, but - significantly - Recorder won't email files over five minutes in length. Wish I'd known this earlier; I could have simply stopped and started my recording at five minute intervals. I don't see any mention of this five minute limit in the description of the app either on ITunes or the developer's website, though. * You can sync your memos with your laptop wirelessly, which is 100% useless to a person sitting in a hotel room where there's no WiFi availability. I suppose I could go try to hunt down a coffeeshop, but why was the ability to sync using a USB cable omitted from this version of the app? It's still great, but it's not getting five stars from me until these problems are rectified. It's easily worth $.99, though..Version: 0

I want my 59p backLike what u guys saying that app works only in US and I'm in UK I have paid 59p for nothing so I'm asking for my refund and please don't put US apps with UKs apps. Regards.Version: 0

Great! How to make it a "Killer" application...I love the simplicity and functionality. A number of good suggestions have already been made in other reviews but one "killer" feature would be to allow memos to quickly be tagged rather than named (which takes too much time to type a name) using a wheel type function in which you can predefine the categories you want to associate with your memos. Next and most important is to add the ability to set memos to play at preset times (just like the alarm functionality associated with events on your calendar) of alert you at a preset time (same as alarm function). Now you have a vocal productivity tool!! I would use this functionality to complement and possibly even replace my to do list task manger (of course it needs to be fast and easy to label tasks and set play time/date alarms..Version: 0

Just keeps getting betterI think this was my first purchase, in the first week after the July 11 launch. It really works well and just gets better and better. The new WiFi file transfer is SO easy, the send by email works. Now has high quality recording and pause. Pretty much it. 6 stars if you could do the basic edit of tidying up each end of the sound file. I don't think it should become the all singing, all dancing, does everything. Just do one thing the best. I reckon this developer is up for it. They just keep making it better..Version: 0

Update: Recording phone calls NOW WORKS!Update: Call recording now works! It took Apple's server a little bit of time to approve my purchase of 1 hour of call recording. After restarting the app, I saw one hour added to the available time, so I gave it a go. I called my best friend and talked for 46 sec before I hang up on him (he knew the call was being recorded; a female voice notified both of us before the call began). The recording downloaded in under 15 sec over Edge and exactly 46 sec were subtracted from the 1 hour. The sound quality is great, btw. Retronyms, well done! --------------- I have been wondering what happened to the server that records the calls so I contacted Retronyms (hint: if u r serious about reviewing an App, contact the developers first) It turns out that Retronyms is waiting for Apple's approval of the pay-as-you-go call recording. This means that you can get an hour of call recording for something like $1.99, or purchase 8 hours at a discounted price. Unlike cell phone carriers, the time of a recording will be measured in seconds, not minutes! After a call is recorded, you get to download the recording to your phone, or keep it on the server. Can't wait to use this new service!.Version: 0

Good valueIt's very good for 59 p, deserves no less rating.Version: 0

Very Nice, Very Easy! This app does what it says it will. Records very good quality audio and syncs with ease. Has a Progress Bar while playing the recording so you can scroll to the part of the track you wish to find quickly. Wifi sync is the easiest I've tried, and the email sync feature sends a 10-day link to your mailbox (or your friends email) for your recording. No special software to install on your laptop. No special service to sign up to. It really is SUPER simple. One note: BE SURE to touch the "i" icon and select "High Quality Recording" to get the most out of the iPhone's mic. It really is a very good mic, so you might as well get the most out of it! To the developer: It would be cool to see a "mic level" slide bar..Version: 0

Not that good, could do betterIt has improved but there is so much room for improvement.Version: 11.4

Solid and reliable as ever(Updated review) The app continues to run well and work for me. Totally handy in a pinch, the regular quality is decent enough but turning on high-quality makes it much better (in the More Options tab). I have put Call Recording to use since my last review and it's solid. Yes, there is a fee -- so many people seem oblivious to that even though it's right there in the app description -- but it's well worth it in my opinion. But mostly I still use the app for recording environmental sounds and things on the go (which is great because I don't always have my pro recorder with me), it's served me really well as a standby..Version: 10.6.2

Always works, love the phone-record feature!I have used Recorder on every phone I’ve had since I bought it, years ago. That includes a 5S, 6+, 6S + and my 7+. Works perfectly with each one. It is an outstanding recorder for daily use in capturing audio in many situations. I use it when I want to document or remember a conversation. And occasionally for phone calls. Recorder’s best benefit is the superb quality of its phone call recordings. Easy to use, always effective. It’s simple to retrieve the audio files and edit them — or to transfer them to another app or to a Mac or PC for more extensive editing. If you have any challenges or questions of any kind, I’ve found Retronym, the developer, to be great with support and follow through. Their website has a FAQ and other sources of information available. Easy to give this five stars! I have never had anything except success with it; “it just works,” as described here. One last anecdote. Years ago, a friend’s father died unexpectedly. My ability to use Recorder to retrieve the last phone calls from his dad from an answering machine meant more to my grieving buddy than anything I have ever done for him as a friend, before or after. Recorder made that little gesture (a very big one, to my friend) very easy and simple. Recorder’s small cost has been justified many times over to me by its instant availability in my iPhone and its flexibility and usefulness — and for its reliability whenever I really need it. I feel slightly guilty, because I should’ve written this great review long ago. I take the app for granted because it works so well..Version: 12.0.1

Records More Than Just A Call. This app came through for me in a huge way. I have some very dear friends who tragically lost their son in an accident. The outpouring from the community was overwhelming in the recorded voice mail messages that were left on their mobile and home phones. Utilizing this app, I was able to call into their voice mail and home answering machine to record all of the messages. Then I was ale to take the file via its wonderfully, easy to use wi-fi sync and download the recorded file. I could then easily convert it to MP3 and have it for the family to keep. It doesn't matter that I had to purchase recording time, my only suggestion would be that if you are charging for recording time, you should price the app as free. However, that was inconsequential as .99, then $1.99 for 60 minutes of recording time was a small price to pay to help my grief stricken friends. If you should decide to record messages this way, and use a smart phone, it helps that you can mute the handset so outside noise is not heard when recording the messages..Version: 0

AwesomeAwesome app. Definately worth more than $1. I like the simple choice between high quality (to record my baby talking) and low quality (to record voice notes to myself). I also like the fact that you can use wifi to get the large recordings off the iPhone without needing to install a client application on the computer. I agree with the other reviewer, it would be nice for the app to be aware of the accelerometer, so that when you hold the iPhone upside down (so the mic and speaker are facing you) the interface on the screen would flip and have the proper orientation..Version: 0

Thanks for listeningThis app. Works well however it would great if you rename your memos rather than being stuck with memo 1 etc. Update... Thanks for listening, the update is great. Love the graphical changes, and the ability to rename the memos. The icon looks much better too. Great work guys..Version: 0

Almost perfectWhat would be excellent would be the ability to email recordings longer that 5 mind when wifi was available. This would make the app a 5 star experience..Version: 0
