Frequent flier’s friendThe BA app makes travel so much easier, whether that’s planning, booking, or flying. It’s an incredibly complex set of requirements and as far as I can tell BA have managed to fulfill those requirements incredibly well. They’ve also done a great job of making it work well for both frequent fliers and occasional fliers, which is not an easy feat. If you think this is easy, try some other airline apps! For many parts of the experience the app does take you to the web site, so you need to make sure you have good connectivity. I have run into occasional bugs, but the app is updated frequently, so I have rarely had the same bugs more than once..Version: 5.41

KKI recently took a flight from Larnaca to London Heathrow. On checking in on the BA app on my phone I wanted to add a bag as I booked my ticket without one. As soon as I entered check-in I wanted to add my bag and before I knew it it had checked me in without me being able to pay for my bag. Once this has happened you then have to pay an extra €20 at the airport instead of €55 online it costs €75 at the airport. Normally when checking in you have to confirm seat and then enter confirm and checkin this didn’t happen. Unfortunately BA is really lowering its standards and milking its regular customers which is a big mistake. There are so many other companies offering great services. Wake up BA and sort your app out!!! Also people traveling with only hand luggage always get allocated the middle seat of the three seats in the middle why?.Version: 5.42

Awful from start to finishWhat a shame that this is our national carrier. Hopeless website that took my credit card details 3 times in one week and then failed to book the flight. The help line is endless, with messages that are slow and laboured, inefficient and cuts you off mid sentence. Once through to them, their system was down, so was advised to call back in the morning, which was when I was supposedly meant to fly. And once you have waded through it all, you cannot download the boarding pass on to your mobile because that system doesn’t work and even if it did, their app doesn’t work. Without a doubt, the worst online and telephone experience I have had with an airline, and I even use Ryanair some times. No wonder they are struggling. They need to hire lots of people from EasyJet and fire the pious unhelpful crowd and maybe they might improve. Avoid if you can..Version: 5.63

StrandedPeople transport lady delays transporting use to our connecting flight and we missed our connection. She waited until all 400+ passengers had deplaned from one door before she decided to leave! Then we could not get any other flight until the next night causing us to miss part of our cruise. There is not time to cover it all. Agents at gate left at 10:00 pm with use sitting there awaiting transportation. It never came untilI saw them parking the vehicles for the night and rushed down to stop them and get them to take us to customer service. One mail agent totally ignored us. Finally the other agent became available and helped up with voucher for room. Two days in Heathrow! Not a happy experience with BA..Version: 5.99

Appallingly badUp until a couple of months ago, this app worked perfectly on all my Apple mobile devices. It is now absolute rubbish on all of them, in spite of deleting and reinstalling. I can access my personal details and account, but it is rare that I can access my bookings (and there are a lot of them) or check in. Constant “Please try later, we’re trying to fix this” message, or message telling me to log in when I am logged in because I can access my account. BA: you need to do better. This app has become appallingly bad, and I know it’s not only me that is having these issues. You pride yourselves on your services, but this one is an absolute joke..Version: 5.98.5

Mobile boarding pass missing oneworld statusThe mobile boarding pass does not display partner oneworld status, meaning I am often denied fast track security or lounge access or have to argue with staff to check it manually for me. Needs improvementI use the app on two occasions and each time there was an issue . I logged in one as soon as check in was open. I was pre-allocated a window seat . I tried to change the seat . I chose another seat only to be informed it was taken by another passenger . Rather than allowing me to start over , the system said I was checked in and I then couldn’t choose a new seat . Had to call the customer service team who kindly assisted . The previous occasion , I had issue checking in again . I was preassigned a middle seat . I tried to change it and it kept loading and giving an error message then said I was checked in ! I’ve come to the conclusion this app is a waste of my Time and I need to just get to the airport and check in. Disappointed in app..Version: 5.63

UselessImpossible to link your online boarding pass with Apple Wallet. The app never remembers my personal if information so I have to re enter it every time I fly. And I travel on a weekly basis. And the app can never download my booked flights (error message everytime) so I have to go to the website every time. What good is an app if you always have to go to the website and even that doesn’t give you a usable digital boarding pass? All other airline apps works perfectly. Great service at HeathrowWe received fantastic service today from BA representative Tracy Murray at Heathrow. Our flight was delayed, causing us to miss our connection to the US. Tracy painstakingly redirected all our complex flight plans, coordinated with our kids itineraries and set everything right so we will be together for Christmas. She was very kind and reassuring and my wife finally stopped crying. Then she got us all rooms at a nice hotel tonight, meals and even vouchers for “nibbles” at the airport Marks and Spencer. Thank you to our Christmas angel!.Version: 6.1.1

Getting there but so far to goThe British Airways app experience makes it easy for me to check in, view my flight schedule, and get my boarding pass before a flight thanks to a neat UI that uses iOS native components but where it falls short is the reward booking process which is web browser based and totally ruins the overall booking experience which consequently makes the broader app experience inconsistent. One minute you’re using an app, the next you’re in browsing the web, which quite frankly ruins it. Also, stop accusing me of having multiple windows open when I don’t, it’s really annoying!!!!.Version: 5.96.1

Refresh my Bookings App inadequacyAs a frequent BA user I have great difficulty understanding how BAs tech interface is so pathetic. Whether it is checking in at LHR or external flights where you have have to queue for an hour due to electronic check in booths are out of service or ultimately this ‘my bookings’ app features which is supposed show bookings on the app yet never does. A tech error message also suggests trying later as yr in transit preparing for a flight. I have to search emails for bookings codes n the go online. This horrible app delays my travel.. no goodwill avois points or reward flight voucher amount could make up for this low level of service. I have to really consider other airlines and groups from now. Shameful.Version: 5.99

AshamedI’m a gold executive member and have been for years but I’m also pretty ashamed that our national carrier is now compared by many including myself to a budget airline, I often have to brush off food crumbs from my seat when getting on a flight and looking at the food splatterings often left on the back of the seat in front make me want to heave, even sometimes in business class!, BA’s long and medium haul business cabins are a joke frankly and were it not for the fact they are the only real option for me given where I need to fly out from and to on European flights I’d switch in a heartbeat, I already deliberately try for dates which mean I fly with Cathay Pacific to Hong Kong while still retaining my BA points etc rather than fly in BA’s rubbish excuse for a business class cabin, come on BA either change your name or stop embarrassing the U.K.!.Version: 5.44

It’s good, can be better for a company like BAIs a bit slow on the check in area also is impossible to make changes on the flight through the app. It’s been a long time with this issue and I always have to call customer service. If you don’t double check the price online for the change customer service might (not always but sometimes) ask you more money to change your flight. I think that’s very wrong. Then you tell them that you checked online but the system doesn’t allow you to do the changes and they apply you “discount”. Very fast on reaching & buying a new ticket but for everything else slow. Flight delays due to aircraft maintenance issuesDuring my visit to the Paris Airshow 2019, coming from the USA, all my flights so far have been fraught with delays due to different maintenance issues on the various aircraft. I fully appreciate that this can occasionally happen but it may be just my bad luck but, so far every flight has had maintenance delays. In two of the incidents I was onboard with the other passengers while this delay was taking a place. My concern here also is that the maintenance issues that have happened, I would have thought would been part of a preventative maintenance program. I have always enjoyed BA in the previous years and so this may be just a stoke of bad luck on my part..Version: 5.56

BA please get your act togetherOn every update I am hopeful the app will improve and I’ll be able to make the simplest things such as check in. When the app doesn’t throw error messages, additional “security” requirements mean you can only check in with your passport at hand, not on the go. FFS I fly BA at least once a month and am tired to give you information you already have. I am also tired to re-authenticate even though I have a phone with FaceID that allows me to make bank transactions without having to re-type document numbers. Dear BA, as someone who lives in London, I am stuck with you. Please hire a competent software development team and build an app that will solve your customer’s problems, not create new ones - only for you to sell the solution. Frequently failingA bit the story of BA these days - they are being surpassed by all despite their premium pricing. All their IT solutions are weak (website even more unstable) But the app is the most unstable/unfriendly and generally unhelpful part of the offering. I’m tired of it crashing in middle of a transaction and of my flight appearing in erratic ways or often not at all despite all booked via same agent and using my lifetime gold card number. I’m afraid BA you probably need to do more than your budget allows but I find myself more and more on other airlines especially for long haul.... the q-suite from Qatar is simply in a different league as is their app and website!! Poor!This app used to be great, but recent update the reliability appears to have fallen. My most recent flight despite checking in via the app and downloading by boarding card and saving to my wallet promptly lost my checking and boarding pass. Repeat lost again, boarding card still shown in wallet but app just kept prompting to check in. Turning off notifications has no effect either still get constant notifications on sales in really annoying red across the top of screen. And it’s ability to work with IOS 13 calendar also appears hit and miss with endless notifications of changes which have happened. Overall good app poor quality control!.Version: 5.62

The worst airline AppJust don’t trust or use this app, unless you have lots of time and enjoy hassle or hours on the phone to BA sorting out its mess!!! This app is always a challenge to use, even if you can login. It often says “Sorry a technical problem, try later” it often. doesn’t recognise my login? Despite me using the same login details via a password manager!? It often takes multiple payments for the same booking. This costs me time and effort and must cost BA a fortune with refunds and time correcting wrong or confusing information. Not to mention lost passengers who go elsewhere. It needs some urgent quality attention or taken down! It is not fit for purpose!!.Version: 5.100.4

In decline, just like the airlineEach time I go to use the app I’m not sure if it will work. Not exactly reliable if you need your boarding pass. However, don’t worry. If you can’t retrieve your details it’s probably the fault of their server since you are neve sure if you are in the app ir the website. Any issues with the app are usually replicated in the website too (just to compound your issues). Sometimes you can’t log in. Sometimes you get a message asking you to log in using the website. Sometimes you are redirected to the website from the app and you also get a message asking you to open the app (yes, you can go round in circles). Bad app? Bad website? Both? You decide! Going to the airport. Don’t worry if you do leave home with out it..Version: 5.91

Mr D Ritchie48 before our flight I tried to take advantage of booking our seats for upcoming flight. Unfortunately we had already been allocated seats and when I tried to change our seats this option was not available to us. 24 hours before our flight I again tried to check in online and was again informed that this service was unavailable. On my arrival at FCO I was refused admission to the airport as I did not have a boarding pass. I do not possess a “smart phone” so the situation became very difficult but was resolved by the very understanding and professional local police on duty. I ask you to provide information on this process, as you do with your excellent advice on Covid compliance, in the future. Many thanks for your time in this matter and I can assure you it will not change my preference in choice of airline as you are far above and beyond the best airline on offer. Overall great app, but a miss on WatchOverall, this is probably the very best airline app of the many I use. It’s simple to use, yet provides far more information and utility than any other I use. And it’s actually visually appealing. However, the Watch app doesn’t seem to work. Despite having a flight departing in five days, the Watch app says I don’t have any upcoming flights in the next seven days, even though I have two (both of which show in the app on my paired iPhone.) Having access to the app on the Watch is super useful while traveling, and the absence of this feature working correctly made me withhold a fifth star..Version: 5.50
