✓ Upgrade going greatI had this and was using the previous version, which I liked but wanted the ease of customising the budget - weekly etc. Have not had any crashes with this version 2.4 and am using to input up to 4 times daily. Did notice on last version would only sometimes crash when entering a whole heap of data in one go. The iXpebseIt support team are really great, any queries and they get back to you with full and detailed explanation and very promptly. This is easy to use with lots of ways to customise to your liking - WAY better than any of the other ones I have downloaded and tried. Recommend this one..Version: 0
✓ Best money tracking app available!I've never written a review before but I thought this app is worth the effort. This is the best money tracking app I've encountered - and I've tried many. No other app comes first when it comes to functionality - you can add custom budgets within a timeframe of your choice, view your spending in categories and subcategories of your choice, and the list goes on. It's very easy to enter your spending on the go. I've been using this app for 4 years and it's still the best. With the (long awaited) recent update, the graphical interface has had a major upgrade, and I'm one happy customer :).Version: 9.0.2

✓ Great AppEdit: I hope the developers see this comment so here goes nothing: I want a way for the app to calculate APR on what’s due. For example home loan, or credit card. This way, when your paying down a loan, you can see it more accurately. Also would be nice to add 401k info but that might be harder to see because the return can fluctuate. I love this app. Only issue is that I feel like the numbers I see at times isn't what actually happened. But it does work though. I use it a a back up to my own records. ✓ The app gets better and better! Great developer supportI have used this app for a long time now (since 2009), and I must say, iXpenseIt is one of the better apps out there. The developer keeps updating the app with useful features, such as with the recent autocomplete feature when typing a vendor's name (the app pops up an autocomplete bubble), as well as the wider field autocomplete after typing in the vendor. Combine this constant improvement of the app with the excellent customer support, and you have a winner of an app - iXpenseIt! There have been rough patches here and there (*cough* version 3.0.2 *cough*), but the devs are quick to post an update fixing the bugs. I popped them an email and they were quick to respond. I do wish that they preserve some photo receipts in the full iPhone 4 camera resolution. Perhaps an option can set so that text-based receipts are kept in full resolution, while the additional photos of the item purchased can be in the lower resolution. All in all, iXpenseIt is undoubtedly a great app that is well maintained by the developers, and deserves a 5 star rating. I look forward to continued updates!.Version: 4.6.1

✓ And one more thing ...Still the best budget app I've found for my purposes (I'm still hunting though). I asked about using multiple categories in custom budget. I also think ALL budget apps should have a built-in calculator (I've only seen one that does). I often need to split a single receipt between two categories - I bet i'm not the only one who doesn't classify washing powder and shampoo as food. Having a calculator in the app would make this doable in thirty seconds instead of making me hunt out a pen or do it in my head which is pretty silly. Also could we have more icons, there is no such thing as too many; they aren't just a gimmick, they make it really do make for easier use..Version: 0
✓ We should be able to generate reports for search resultsI use the comments box of every transaction for tagging purposes. For example, when I travelled to Canada, every travel expense with a comment “Canada 2019” are related to the trip. I’m able to search for all these expenses if I type “Canada 2019” in the search box. However, I can’t generate a report and print the search result. It would be great if we could generate reports from the search. This is the only missing feature I can think of. Besides that, it’s the app I use the most, for many many years. ✓ Excellent finance appThis is an excellent finance app. The implementation is well thought of. Accounts are shown vertically and shows the beginning and ending balance of the period. The dashboard shows the recent transactions and gives information on upcoming transactions. It is easy to put on recurring entries. This is best of the financial apps out there. The only downside is the manual backup without the subscription. I wish there is an option to backup to iCloud, google drive, or dropbox as well as cross platform compatibility..Version: 9.9.1

✓ Been using for yearsThis is the best way to take control of your finances. First you have to know where it goes. Log every expense. Don’t get frustrated if you get off track. Reconcile and just learn from your mistakes. Eventually if auto fills and is a breeze. However, if you have many accounts like I do..ALWAYS double check which account is auto filled. ✓ Great app.Of the several expense apps that I have tried, I like this one the best. I gave the pdf printouts to my accountant, and he was very pleased with the presentation. Saved me a few dollars on his bill. :) The updates have made a good app even better. If you enter you income and expenses as they happen, you don't have much to do for term end. And it takes only seconds to enter a transaction. Only once did I need to ask a question of the developer. They responded within hours answering my question and more. ✓ Great!!!!I downloaded it because I saw the good review. However,at the first starts,I think it a bit hard to use & complicated than my current using app (My budget). ✓ Ixpenseit3choices: pocketmoney, ibear money or ixpenseit. This focuses on budgets (the others track your accounts more like ms money) and it does it very well. Ibear money is almost as good but the reporting is cleaner and better with ixpenseit. as a longterm ms money user it's hard to change focus from watching your accounts to how well a budget plan is going but that's my issue not ixpenseit. Major functionality missing is , however, a) the ability to split a transaction to multiple budgets eg: 1 shopping bill may be food & clothing (2 seperate budgets in my world) & b) the editting of categories/sub-categories should be made easier ( you have to 1st change the defaults to get into the edit option & then you can do only 1 at a time). c) cash-flow and what-if analysis..Version: 0

✓ Unrivalled!Don't waste your time (or even money!) with other expense tracking apps cos this app is truly unrivalled. Very efficient and user friendly, with a huge stack of icons that allow you to customise it perfectly to your needs. The bar charts are also really useful, as is the recent addition of the dashboard feature... Just a few small tweaks and it'll be perfect! Would be nice to rearrange the bar chart order as alphabetical isn't much use- the option of having bars displayed in the same order as my categories, or even simply organised from biggest to smallest expense. Keep the new icons comin' too! For example- somethin' like a stock graph icon for people who buy stocks n' shares... Great work guys anyway, well worthy of a five star rating....Version: 4.6
✓ Excellent tool to track spendingFirstly this tool will not replace MS Money or Quicken if you are into those account tracking type applications. What it will do perfectly is let you track all the little purchases we make day in and day out. Ever wondered what happened to the £20 I had in my wallet or how much you actually spend on coffees and lunch at work? If so then this is the tool for you. It takes some effort to keep on top of entering transactions, however this is why this is such a great app for the iPhone as you will always have your phone handy. The reporting is great, one improvement I would like to see added is the ability to save common reports. The exporting to email is also very handy. ✓ It's not perfectly easy to use but it an acceptable compromiseThis might not be the prettiest GUI but it is a very useful and deep budgeting app. I find it relatively quickly to categories my expenses - with essentially 3 levels of categorisation - type, category, sub-category. This allows you to go as micro managed or as general as you want. To be honest the other apps I tried were too slow at adding transactions or were to broad/general and didn't give me enough category options. I've also recently tried the import CSV function and it is GREAT. With a little work you can grab CSVs of your bank statements, reformat them and import it in - hey presto mass transaction adding! Also exporting reports allow them to view it in html with photos! The only thing I would like to see improved is the photo adding. Sometimes with several photos of receipts in my library it is very difficult to determine which is which and there is no way to quickly check if I've uploaded the correct one..Version: 0

✓ Indispensable tracking/budgeting, would like a little more eyecandyAfter first trying some of the flashier finance tracking/budgeting apps available on the platform, we found this one and realised it was head and shoulders above the rest. The two-level, customisable categorisation system is excellent, as well as the clearly visible daily average. One feature we couldn't live without, as travellers, is the currency conversion, which is smooth and easy to use for every transaction we enter. This app has allowed us to plan our continuing long-term Europe/UK travels and keep a firm handle on our finances as we go. The only thing I could ask for is some more attention to detail with the app's interface design and icon, which makes me wince a little every time I use it. However grievous, though, the cosmetic shortcomings are easily forgiven in light of the unsurpassed functionality. Great work..Version: 0
✓ Great app but a few small points of controlThis is a great app however I would like more control in being able to edit/delete some of the expense titles i.e. Auto to me means Automatic, I fill my car with Petrol and not gasoline etc. Also I would like to be able to start my budgets on 10th of each month and not the 1st. And although I have a budget to stick to I also sometimes have extra money coming in at random points so would like the ability to add this without having to adjust my starting budget. ✓ Does everything I need, and more....Hello I use your app daily and am extremely familiar with how it works. I use it to capture all my monthly expenses day-to-day. I have a budget profile which is based on my payday, meaning it starts on 23rd of every month every month and ends on 22nd. This works perfectly. I have now been using for 24months+ and I did an export of all my spending the other day (export functionality works beautifully both the bluetooth as well as the email versions!). As a result I was able to validate spending patterns, e.g. we were spending more on food and spending less on fuel. This enabled us to adjust our annual budget accordingly. We also use it to track holiday expenses and have used the exchange rate functionality (although that can be expensive because it accesses the web for FX rates, so now we simply capture the currency equivalent). This app is absolutely fabulous! Since I got it, I have never had a nasty surpise with my bank balances! Well done iXpeneIt..Version: 4.6
✓ 5 starsI use this everyday, best way to keep track of finances and budget. Might seem complicated to begin with but once you get over it and learn its capabilities you will appreciate how good this really is. Only thing I would like to have is a forecast account that updates as you update your current account, plus keeps track of accruing expenses easily i.e so you can see what your forecast account balance will be into the future. I have set up a forecast account which does this but it means manually updating income and expenses from the current account which is a bit time consuming. ✓ Latest update April 2010Brilliant app I use it daily. The latest update allows both monthly cashflow tracking and (by scrolling the top pane) the "old" method of separate expense tracking (i.e. for a non-calendar month, if like me you get paid on the 24th of each month and need to track that separately). The backup ability is great and the support first class - I didn't realise the latest update had kept the expense tracking feature and got a clear email response within ten minutes! If you're after a budget control app get this you won't need anything else. Note previous reviews saying the update only shows cashflow from the 1st of the month - I thought so too, but it doesn't just scroll the top pane and your old cashflow will be there!.Version: 0

✓ Great App for Tracking MoneyI really like this app. Since using it I have been able to track all my income and expediture and have greater idea of how much money I have overall. You have to put everything in though otherwise it doesn't work. There are a few improvements to be made though. I quickly stopped using the budget feature as it assumed the buget was my income and I couldn't put my salary in the way I wanted to. It needs to be independant as if you are trying to save your budget will be lower than your monthly salary, but I want to see that I have had that money come in on the dashboard in the same way as other transactions. Also I like that they now have totals, but they also need to show the total of reconciled payments so I can see how much has been taken out of an account and how much will be soon in the case of card payments for example..Version: 5.0

✓ Good app for trackingI keep my incoming and outgoing numbers every day; and this is a good app for that. I love how easy it is to input numbers and create categories. The down side is that it’s easy to make duplicates or errors and hard to erase. One time when I changed phones I accidentally created a duplicate account and the customer service to help me was almost nonexistent. ✓ Amazing!I'm a proper gadget freak and this saves me so much time. I love it! The new updates make this even easier to update my records and very convenient to do on the train or when you have a couple of spare minutes. I love the mini report where you can see clearly where you spend most of your money. The repeat function is great for your direct debts, this way you only enter it once. ✓ Good applicationI've been using this application for a while now and it is very useful for keeping track of my cash expenditure. One thing I would like is the ability to decide which budget I would like to see on the main screen when I have more than one in operation at any given time. At the moment it seems as if it is the first one you make. Is there a way of changing the default option? Finally, I must say that when I had some teething problems with the application, I emailed the support team and they replied on the same day on several occasions to help me solve the problem. ✓ ItI looked at a lot of financial tracking apps before trying this one. My first impression with the interface was positive but then I got stuck trying to work out how to use it. I watched all the videos on the website and read the reviews for hints but it still took me a couple of days to work out how to enter what I wanted to track. I did wonder if I'd made a dreadful mistake but I think it'll work well now. I wanted to track my purse, accounts and credit card but I don't have many expense types that only come from one source (e.g. I might pay for clothes with cash, debit card or credit card). If I set up Custom Budgets for each of these items and related them to ALL catagories then all expenses were taken from all Budgets. Personalise the catagories and sub-catagories to start with. The app has the flexibility to deal with anything but it takes time to work out what you want. Once the set up is done the data entry is very quick and easy. Some examples of set ups on the website would be useful so that people could see the possibiliteis of what the app can be used for..Version: 0
✓ BrilliantI have been using this for a few weeks and it's good - very good. It just does what it says it will. I did not like the V2.3 update, the calendar idea was not practical, but the developer listened to feed back and within a couple of weeks we have back the old functionality plus the ability to use the calendar to jump around the database if required. That's the kind of service that gets my vote. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to track simple costs and maybe even for "on the go" budgeting. A first class product. ***Update*** still happy after a few months of use. Would love to see this progress but there are other apps if you want full control over your finances. This one does exactly what it's designed to do. By the way it has NEVER crashed on my iPod. ***Second Update*** I have been using this now for seven months. ✓ 2.4v seems correct most issuesRe-review gave a rating of (2) initially but ver.2.4 fixed rollover, start date, income gauge prob, so improvements made me change my review. Checked "homebudget" but like this app more. (Prev. Review) Does what it says but feel "homebudget" might of been better. Lack of income, line charts, multple accounts and starting point makes it only a approx measure. They do have workaround for income but gauge doesn't work if you use it. Getting paid on 15th also cause problems and doesn't carry over to the next month. Good but needs alot of work, definitely do more research next time see a iphone TV ad..Version: 0

✓ Great for budgetingI've been using this for the last couple of months and it's incredibly useful, you can sort your items by category and currency, so you can see where you're spending. It's also viewable by bar chart, pie chart and exportable to a spreadsheet so you can play with your data. The currency conversion is useful too, since I'm spending some time in the USA, I can add the amounts in dollars and it will convert it to pounds. You can also add a budget and it shows it in a green bar above the expense list. All in all it's the most versatile budgeting program and you can try iexpenseitlite before you buy..Version: 0

What is even better: developers in fact get back to you quickly when you ask for help/features. ✓ Great Expense Tracker for Small BusinessI've been using ixpenseit for about a year now. The more I use it the more powerful it seems to become. I now essentially run all my small business accounts through it and am finding it easier and better than the spreadsheet I was using. This does take a bit of setting up your categories, but once you have it is very powerful. UPDATE - I have now been running my business accounts through iXpensIt for the last 6 month, and to be honest it has been the easiest 6 months I have had managing my accounts. I complete my BAS in about an hour rather than a couple of days and end of month is really smooth and easy too. Things I would like to see in updates are automated backups to say MobileMe or Dropbox, and to be able to set a custom category for mileage. Oh, please, let's have an iPad version too! One last thing, and this is really for the developer. This is a great program with great updates at a very cheap price. You seriously need to have more in app purchases to allow you to keep going. I would probably include sync in this as an annual charge (see the todo app model for this). I actually feel bad every time a major update comes through that I am not paying you for it. The new way to add Vendors for example saves an amazing amount of time and I actually feel bad you have given it to me for nothing!.Version: 4.6.1
✓ It's driving me mad!It was brilliant before but since updating I seriously can't figure out how to get it to show my actual budget. I get paid at the end of the month and since it's change it shows that my expense is more than my income (my income automatically goes to zero at the first of the month). Maybe I'm not using it right but it doesn't really tell me much in the FAQ pages. I just want to see how much money I'm earning Vs how much I'm spending. The old version was far simpler in that respect. Not to mention I had to re-input everything when it updated which was major pain. Its good in the sense now you can add income and see your cashflow but whats the point when the first of month arrives your income resets to zero and your cashflow is in the negative. I tried changing the start dates to pay day both on income and expenses but that didn't solve it. A wee bit frustrating..Version: 0

I almost never do feedback but this update makes me question whether any of the developers actually use the app themselves because surely they would be able to immediately pickup some of the efficient functions lost over the previous version? The auto-input/suggestions per each vendor seems to have disappeared which was one of the most convenient features - now you need to add all details for every separate transaction. Further, you can't start typing the vendor anymore but must have the alphabetised list?? Doesn't make sense. ✓ Great app butPlease fix the auto photo feature. It just doesn’t work unless the receipt is absolutely perfectly flat and against the perfect background, which almost never happens. So it takes two, three, sometimes four attempts and I usually have to just turn off the auto and switch to manual every time. ✓ Great app, great support!Ok so since my original review I realised it was my fault that the accounts weren't acting as I wanted. I had missed a step in the setup process that meant an expense was being added to all accounts instead of just the one I wanted. I contacted support an they guided me through the process and now it is working great! I can easily track all of my accounts and this app is easily the best looking, fully featured expense tracker in the app store. Ignore the bad reviews, once the initial setup is done it couldn't be any easier to track everything you need to. If you are looking for an Expense App that works extremely well whether you are in the air or on the ground, employed or self-employed - this is it! You can make it go deep, or use it casually. The thing that rings my bell in comparison is the view of the "future" between the different app builders. These people for instance are building not only an "Expense Recorder", but have given us a tool that we can review how we are doing with reports! They have the insight not only to make a now extremely sound platform - but the updates will not only pack the beauty and ease of the latest rivals - but they have promised to look at building the foundation even more. A rumoured option might include tracking various incomes of suggested suppliers. This will be great as we can see where the coffee and donuts are paying off! Not only can you use different currencies, but they might include different international measurements (miles for the US / Kilometers for the other 90%) by the next update. Be sure to read the forums of the others before you waste your time and money. Others have said they wish to keep their product confined to just being an Expense Recorder. The others feel they do not want to be a "Financial Software". I agree, I do not want to download my banking. I use the custom budget which shows a little bar that gradually drains away, so at a quick glance you can see how much money you have left. I also like the rollover option that either adds or debits funds depending on how you spent last month. However there is one niggle that would make this app even easier to use i feel. Number One is I can find no budget that allows you to change the amount of funds you have every month-the custom budget is set and the others do not roll over ( a feature that I very much like). i know that others have commented that their wages are not the same every month. It does means that if you change it, it changes for every month. If you don't, you have to set an average over the whole year. This does not take much account of your fluctuating finances (i.e. you may spend more because you have more). If you were able to have a custom budget that could be adjusted this would definitely be a five star..Version: 0

✓ Great App, but...This is really a useful tool, which I use when traveling. If you buy the PDF report package, you can some nice reports. I bought the whole lot. Draw Backs You cannot print the GST/VAT on the same report as the expenses. When I asked the developer, I was told to print the separate GST/VAT report. Now most companies will not want to take two reports with multiple transactions and try to link transaction GST with that on another report. Completely impractical. When I asked for the GST column to be added in the report, I received a non committal answer which basically suggests that it will not be done in the near feature. ✓ Not as fast as it used to be for data entryI’ve been using this app for 10 years. I resisted changing to the new version and upon the change I did experience problems. However, the bugs were fixed and now all is well. The main gripe I have is the speed of entering default transactions. All the fields should be populated on the main transaction screen and the user just enters the $ figure. This is how it used to work. It was fast and easy. Now the screen takes you to category screen to click on then back to the $ entry. Much slower. This has definitely resulted in my reduced usage of your app as I cannot enter transactions fast enough then & there when I do purchases. If you can please fix up the easy of this like it was previously it would be great. 2nd gripe is that lots of data displayed on the reports the screen cannot the rotated to capture the bar graphs. Firstly, exporting data to PC is now a bit of a chore because I have so many receipts. The backup file was so big it kept crashing during export so I had to workaround this by copying the database file and images manually and use 3rd party software to export to Excel. It's a polished application and the developer has managed to devise what is a fantastically simple interface with comprehensive functionality. It's not an accounts ledger but if you simply want a good budget management tool and better idea of where your moneys going, then I'd give it a go. Update: Ok having used the application more extensively I've now picked up on those issues highlighted by others. In the previous update the "import from csv" function, which is a function that I use very often, had been disabled. I wrote to the guy and have received a response in just 2 days. In the response, he explained to me why the function is temporarily disabled and they are in fact looking for some better alternative to replace the function. However, since I have been using the function so often, I asked them whether it is possible to re-enable the function first before the new solution is in place. 1 week after, new update was released and the function is enabled again! Over that time I've gone from an idiot overspender to a guy with money in the bank at the end of the month. This app will pay for itself in the first DAY you buy it. Each version is more intuitive. Tbh in version one it was a bit tricky entering data but I persevered. Now it takes seconds to do common repeat expenditures and less than a minute for more unusual purchases. I’ve also been complaining about the default position of the cursor when you open a new record - it’s always on the second line (the vendor). This means that you have to physically move it to the line above where you fill out the expense/credit amount. I love the export/email function that makes it really easy to get the information out in a format I can modify (XLS) for submitting to work. I have only one small feature missing that would make this the perfect application for managing my expenses, as I travel extensively around the world it would be great to have the ability to enter an exchange rate for each entry so that I can then view all my expenses in my local currency!! Also would be nice if this exchange rate field allowed both manual entry and also could pull down the exchange rate from the web. ✓ Excellent!This app is by far the best. The best feature for me is being able to track a custom budget in my home currency (AUD), but enter expenses in my visiting country (THB). Other apps did not offer this important feature. The reports are great and being able to customize the category info is perfect. My only crtiticism is that I found the app slightly confusing to setup initially, and the help system is slow and incomplete. I found no online manual either. It took me a short time of playing around before I understood how budgets and expenses are defined and related to each other. However, all makes sense eventually and well worth the exploration if you are serious about tracking expenses and managing budget while travelling. It definatley wortth looking on their website to understand how to use it, as it's very difficult to figure it out. i liked how you could customise al of the icons and add or remove your own categories. Only thing is it seemed to crash an aweful lot when i was doing this, which caused me to keep having to sign in. Its a good app though, there could be improvements, for example an indicator as to if your current spending rate will remain in budget for the wonth, or an opportunity to set budgets by the week. otherwise a great app, and i'd recommend it for £2.99.Version: 0

However there is room for improvementFor example: 1) you can't share with another phone (ie my husband) 2) can't export in .CSV or HTML (even though it says in the blurb that it does), all export is done in .fyi which I can't convert without buying other programs, so no back up possible. 3) the keylists are not fully customisable as mentioned - for example I cannot remove the "vendor" category from each new transaction (which I don't want) 4) the online user guides and video tutorials are great but are for version 4.3 and therefore many of the "screen shots" and menus are different to what I have in 4.8 and I can't do some of the things they do..Version: 4.9

✓ AdjustmentOnce you get over the concern that everything looks different and wondering of 'is all the data I've been plugging into this still ok'... yes, it takes some adjustment - but that, I think, was inevitable for any big update, of anything. I can see you've added some great functionality, in being able to set your own report dates, which is v helpful for the AU June-July tax year! And mileage (not important to me personally, but a nice add on). I'm sure I'll adjust to it all and probably find it better as it becomes familiar again. My only feedback is that you seem to have increased the number of button presses to enter an expense, and it's also slightly harder to select an existing expense vendor as it's now at the very top of the screen, and you need to tap the top box to open the keyboard. Small stuff, but when you're using the app all throughout the day - the usability there has gone down a little. It'd be great if the keyboard opened up automatically with the vendor list - much easier to tap anywhere to close it, than to reach the top of the screen, and then back to type.
