Speed Names - Contacts for Positive User Reviews
✓ Nice AppFor some reason, Apple has not developed the capability for their iPad mail app to send e-mails to groups. This app takes care of that shortfall, however developers need to make one more improvement - the ability to hide the recipient's e-mail addresses and just show the group name in the "To" line..Version: 3.5
✓ Needs refiningI receive groups of texts daily from my kids sports coaches. Many of the parents in the group are not in my contacts and I don't need them to be. I am unable, with the stock iOS messaging app, to name the groups since many of the parents do not use iOS. I was hoping this app would enable me to name the groups do that but it doesn't. I'm sure many parents are like me, receiving streams of texts every day about practices, games, scrimmages etc, and with iOS there is no simple way to tell each group of texts apart. If this app could enable the user to simply add the phone numbers to the group without requiring the phone number to be a contact that would be great.Version: 3.62
✓ After Using Speed Name You Can't Go Back!I debated buying this app for a few days. After dealing with the unintuitive interface that is built in, I finally bought Speed Name. It will save you time and your sanity..Version: 0
✓ Simple &EfficientI haven't find another app that do what this one does easily: transfers contacts between accounts. My family have many google and yahoo accounts and managing contacts from all these accounts was crazy. I wanted to consolidate the contacts in few accounts. With this app I could do it! Great!.Version: 2.7
✓ Rdotson4489Excellent!! Does exactly what I needed, to make, delete and modify groups in contacts, also to move contacts into different contact groups in iOS devices (iPad and iphone)..Version: 3.62
✓ Very EffectiveAn excellent app that has earned a spot on my home page. I have tried a number of the apps which add contacts faster than the native Contacts, and this one is very reliable and quick. Most importantly, it does not mess up my syncing with my Gmail contacts, which another of the apps (Digits) did. It would be great to be able to edit the newly added contact, as some of the other apps allow. Can this very useful feature be added by the developer, please..Version: 0
✓ Great app for moving contactsLove the app and well worth the money. Was able to easily move my exchange contacts to all on my iPhone contacts in a matter of seconds. Saved me tons of time and hassle. If you want to move contacts between groups get this app..Version: 2.81
✓ Great Time SaverThis little programme saves loads of time entering contact details on the iPhone..Version: 0
✓ Nice and simpleI bought this app to move contacts between sources such as MS exchange, iCloud and iPhone and ipad. It works nicely with a simple tick interface..Version: 3.2
✓ Super quick, but...Needs to have mailing address and website too!.Version: 0
✓ THIS DOES WHAT APPLE CONTACTS CAN'T DOThis makes moving contact names from group to group a breeze..Version: 3.5
✓ Works..SuggestI needed this app to move contacts from one group to the other group i.e. Gmail to outlook. However I cannot tell which group is which in the case of two Outlook accounts. They are both named the same thing. Please allow us to give each account a custom nickname. Thanks!.Version: 3.62
✓ Move contacts to and from Exchange!Leaving your company and need to store a local copy of your contacts cuz your Citrix access has been cut? No problem! This app merrily copies (or moves) to and from multiple sources such as your local contact store and MS Exchange in a flash! While I didn't bother playing with contact creation, presentation/filing or searching, the moving alone was worth the price. The only down sides are that the navigation scheme is a bit vague and you have to tick contacts individually (but can un-tick all) which is a pain if you gave hundreds. Still it's stable and does the trick!.Version: 2.7
✓ It works for me!I have to say that reading the other reviews made me VERY apprehensive about getting this app, but i could find absolutely no other apps that would let me move contacts between my multiple Exchange accounts on my iPhone. I therefore created some dummy contacts and cautiously tried this app... And I'm glad I did! This app did exactly what I wanted - it successfully moved a single (and multiple selected) contact(s) from 1 Exchange contacts account to another. It did not delete anything I didn't ask it to. Now that's not to say that the app isn't a little rough around the edges. Multiple Exchange accounts are not identified by name or server (you just see multiple accounts all called 'Contacts' with a count of the number of contacts in each) and the interface could do with a polish. Also, despite the button label, you can't "Move" a contact in the true sense between Exchange accounts, instead it makes a copy of the contact to the selected account after which you can manually delete the original contact. That's probably a good thing and might be a feature change following the previous, poor feedback. These gripes aside, it does work and at least for me, it didn't delete anything it wasn't meant to..Version: 2.81
✓ Finally!I have been looking for an app to manage my contact groups for a while. Sure there are apps that let you manage groups, move contacts between groups, and send group e-mails/SMS messages. But this app has one important feature that I have not seen in any other app and that is the ability to see what contacts are not in a group. This seems like a simple feature that all contacts apps would have but this is the only one I've found with that feature..Version: 3.2
✓ It let's you copy contacts into Exchange !!This is the only program that I could find so far that will let you copy your ipad/iphone contacts into exchange. Obviously you still need to get a program to erase the duplicates (which will also cost you $.99) but at least you can have all of your contacts in exchange if you want to.Version: 3.5
✓ Pretty GoodI can finally add my own groups to contacts! This is important since i am using TravTracker which adds about 100 airlines, hotels, cruises and others. Probably wouldn't have paid more. Doesn't turn sideways..Version: 0
✓ The Missing LinkWorks as advertised and fills an obvious void in the Apple ios: group management of contacts..Version: 3.62
✓ Did What Was NeededNeeded this to move exchange contacts from an outdated account over to my main group so I could remove that old account. Worked out great, $1.00 well spent. Could have been FAR easier to use and figure out, though. And that should be a standard feature in the stupid phone..Version: 3.70
✓ GreatThis app is a little hard to figure out, but it is a great app for any one who has a business or just wants to group their contacts. Highly recommend!!!.Version: 2.81
✓ Wrong focus of reviewersBut not their fault. Emphasis of description is fast way to enter. I don't enter through this pgm, BUT it provides a way to group contacts AND the groups show up in the iPhone contacts pgm. THAT makes this a free 5 star pgm! Thank you to the Speed Name programmers!.Version: 2.8
✓ Versatile Contact editorWhile the built in contact manager has gotten better over time, it still has significant limitations. Speed Names is a much faster way to enter contact information than the built-in contact app, but its greatest strength allows you to create groups and organize your contacts into groups, and to easily delete multiple contacts when the need arises. With iOS 8 Apple still hasn't provided the group and bulk contact management of Speed Names. This developer was one of the first to release iPhone apps in 2007, and has consistently maintained and improved them. Also check out his other apps, particularly Travel Tracker..Version: 3.6
✓ GoodBeing able to add groups is great! Quick adding contacts is very handy. Hope in an update you alphabetically order the groups..Version: 0
✓ Awesome appAn awesome app that makes the original contact app even better. Very easy to work with and if you need groups, no better app..Version: 2.81
✓ Puts back what Apple took awayAfter the terrible ios 6 update, I couldn't create contacts in the desired exchange account easily. Now this sorts this problem out completely! Please add option to merge contacts and duplicate removal if possible. Also the ability to customise fields in quick add view would be very nice. And is it too much to ask for a quick dial as an option for the contact that just entered, so we can use the new number straight away if needed. Thanks for a nice and truly useful app!!!.Version: 3.2
✓ Thank youLove it Having over 2000 contacts has been difficult without groups easy to push existing contacts into self made groups Also easy to find a name by spelling it out Thank you.Version: 0
✓ GoodGood app. Just saved me a ton of work. Had to move contacts from iPhone to exchange server. Contacts were in wrong Group. This app fixed it in seconds..Version: 2.5
✓ Great appI was really frustrated with Contacts on iPhone after the ios7 upgrade switched my contacts to automatically add to the "on iPhone" account... Fortunately this little app enabled a quick fix to move contacts to my cloud account. Having already experienced Silverware's Xpense tracker which we reckon is just fantastic I was only too happy to buy this app. Great stuff, works really well. Thanks!.Version: 3.5
✓ Not that hard to figure out...Since apparently we are rating apps based on whether or not we have a personal use for it (or whether or not we even comprehend an app's utility), 5 stars it is for being able to add basic contact info quickly from a single screen form... Comparing this to truly useless apps like the "picture of a piece of wood app", and all the others that not only do not *add* or extend functionality, but do not even *have* functionality, makes other readers question the credibility of such "reviews"..Version: 0
✓ Great Utility AppMy goto app when my contacts/address book needs reorganizing. Does exactly as advertised and does it well..Version: 2.81
✓ Moved contacts from Exchange to iPhoneBrilliant! Perfect for moving my contact information from the Mail Exchange group to my iPhone group. If only someone could do the same for Calendar entries! With best regards, Steve..Version: 3.2
✓ SwampdogieI've been using this app for a couple of years and it does what it says it does. Really handy if you have several groups that you're dealing with. Good Job!.Version: 3.61
✓ Great Job!!!Very useful app..Version: 0
✓ Worked perfectly !I needed to copy 1200 contacts from an Exchange group from my old company to my new company's address book. Worked flawlessly..Version: 3.2
✓ It can move contacts btw address booksBought this just because I needed to move some contacts between my address books. This worked well. It can also quick add contact and I can decide which address book..Version: 2.65
✓ Amazing!!!6 stars this saves so much time!! I had 5 contact groups, I merged them all into one with in 3 min..Version: 2.7
✓ Works wellIt works well. It would be an excellent app if you could also control from PC..Version: 3.62
✓ Great app!!Just what I was looking for! Had a BlackBerry before that you could separate phone numbers by groups was surprised the iPhone couldn't handle such a simple task on its own without having the support of an app. This app definitely fills the gap.Version: 3.5
✓ Has a few intermittent bugs, but essential for me.This should have been part of the native contacts ap. On the native ap there is NO way to move contacts from one group to another. Having 2500 contacts and changing groups from time to time I need an efficient way to edit and move contacts. Many thanks for "Speed".Version: 3.2
✓ You saved me!I mistakenly put most of my contacts in my work contacts. When I left, I realized it would be painstaking to have to re-import everything. Also, since I was afraid to delete my old exchange account, my battery was draining very quickly trying to connect to it all the time. 99 cents and a few minutes with your app...problem solved! Thank you for giving us functionality the iPhone should have already had!.Version: 2.65
✓ Not Glam - just GreatI've used Speed Names for years now. It's simply the easiest and fasted way to enter a new contact. Thanks!!.Version: 3.5
✓ Speed NamesA really great app, once you master how to use it you can create groups in seconds!.Version: 3.0
✓ Just what I was looking forEasy way to move contacts from one group to another. Good app!.Version: 2.65
✓ Great App to Move numbersSaved me ages moving my numbers from the local device to my Work exchange..Version: 2.62
✓ Very coolIt's nice to be able to add contacts so easily. The lack of group separation in contacts is a gross oversight, I'm glad this app corrected it. Could use the ability to add address and phone type(ie mobile, home, work, etc) otherwise exactly what a business owner needs and what I've been waiting for. It would be cool to be able to move existing contacts to newly added groups but that may be beyond the scope of the intent in creating this app....Version: 0
✓ From the DeveloperIn response to a recent review by “savethefrogs:” This is a simple case of “user error.” The app when first launched asks the user if the app can have access to your Contacts list. If you say no, then all bets are off. Why would you purchase an app that access your contacts but then disallow the app access to your contacts? It is unfortunate the user did not contact us but rather choose to be mean spirited and post this bad review. We will be detecting this in at the next update so users who do this will be alerted to this. Thank you to all our users who have made Speed Names a top choice. We value your feedback so please email us if you have any suggestions. We ALWAYS respond to emails in a timely manner. Silverware Software.Version: 3.6
✓ Perfect for what I neededMy wife's work iPhone is set up with Exchange and iCloud. Her exchange account was set up as default. So pretty much all her contacts were in her exchange group. This app easily allowed me to move all her personal contacts to her iCloud and do multiple deletes to clean up the rest of her contacts. 10 mins her contacts were all sorted. Brilliant!!.Version: 3.1
✓ Works with caveatsBefore using this app you should be sure you have a backup. I lost most of my address book on the first try and has to go to a backup to try again. Lessons learned: . Don't add groups for mail services for which the iPhone does not support groups. I tried to add a group for Yahoo with this app and moved contacts into the group. A short while later the group and all contacts in the group disappeared. . I was able to successfully create folders in Outlook and in the OSX Contacts apps. After sync, I was able to move several hundred contacts between the Exchange and local groups as well as Yahoo (no groups/lists used for Yahoo.) The interface workflow is a bit sketchy and I doubt that I will use it for the intended purpose of speedy name entry. However this app delivers groups management functionality where Apple completely fails to do so in the iPhone contacts app. Sometimes I felt like I was cleaning a loaded gun, but I attribute this largely to Apple's inconsistent support of groups in vendor email connectors. The app would benefit from some protections in this area. This app saved me DAYS of work, so even with issues it, easily earns five stars..Version: 2.7
