Lifesum Food Tracker & Fasting for Positive User Reviews

Daily Meal Tracker just stopped workingMy daily meal tracker has stopped working. was only able to track items that are listed as meals and recipes in ‘My Favourites’. The problem was resolved fairly quickly by the developer even though I’m still experiencing problems occasionally when scanning items - the incorrect food item comes up and this may be due to someone having matched a barcode to an incorrect food item. That said this is the most user friendly app for food / meal tracking. I like that I can input my own recipes and get the macros..Version: 10.3.1

Awesome as app!Love your app so much!! By far the easiest way to track my food and keep on track Thank you :).Version: 8.6.3

Beautiful! But could use customized notifications. This app is gorgeous! I love the articles and the recipes look absolutely scrumptious. The aesthetics alone are what make this the most effective app, and it is super smooth! Even on this old phone, where everything else crashes. Huge thanks to the devs for achieving this. Now, I turned on notifications expecting reminders to update my water or add my meals and exercise, which would be really nice! Sometimes you get busy and don't track anything; it is the LAST thing on your mind. I did, however, get constant reminders to update my weight. As someone who has a Lifesum of 119 (almost completely perfect! 😲), I find that a little unhealthy. No-one should be weighing themselves every day, especially if you already have an unhealthy relationship with your weight, body fat percentage, or food. Even on a practical level, it doesn't make much sense. So I turned off the notifications, but it would be nice to be able to select what kind of notifications we get in the future! Such as for new recipes or articles, and reminders in other areas of body and health maintenance. Or a way to change the frequency: Weighing yourself every X amount of days. If there is already a way to do this, I hope the settings for it become easier to find. ❤️ Thanks for reading!.Version: 8.8.4

Overall amazing, couple of features missingI really love the overall user experience and ability to log foods in Lifesum. It’s helped tremendously with my health goals and gaining awareness. Pretty easy to use, and updates to the app make it even more intuitive and natural than before. I wish that there was a bit more nutrition information available. For example- I some key micronutrients like iron or B12 would be great to know. It would also be cool to input any goals for those micronutrients (in the same way we can adjust the macros on Lifesum) to match our unique health goals. It would also be nice if some features would automatically update, for example the finding Nemo to track seafood is cute but why doesn’t it update and “add a nemo” automatically if I log a serving of salmon (for example) for a meal? Finally, I would love if I could somehow link a recipe from a website or the nutritional information of a recipe from a website on Lifesum without having to go through adding all the ingredients and steps for meal each time… some sort of automation or even if there could be an add on for a web browser like “add this recipe to Lifesum” but I realize that’s a more challenging ask. Would be nice to be able to do those things from a desktop too, which is not a feature of this app. Overall great app, thanks!.Version: 16.10.1

Love it, but...I have been using this app for a while now. I love it's design, it is a pleasure to use so far. I would like for this app to be more comparable with other apps such as Fitbit. Needs to be an option to export and easily communicate/transfer Lifesum data to other apps like the Fitbit or equivalent. I want the information I log into Lifesum, such as daily kilojoules and nutritional information to be automatically synced this way. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be an option yet. I know I'm not the only one frustrated by this problem. If they can enable this option like other similar apps already have, then they would definitely get a better rating and recommendation from me..Version: 8.6.3

Mindful tracking would be greatI use this app to track nutrition and make sure my nutritional intake is balanced. I encourage you guys to make the calorie counter optional, perhaps with a general scale without numbers as an option and also an option to turn it off. If we can accommodate for those who would like to simply mindful and intuitively eat and have no weight problems (or struggle with disordered eating) we can all benefit. I hate that every ‘nutrition’ based app or program is always pushing weight loss - let’s push healthy bodies and minds, rather than perpetuating fat phobias and the construct of “healthy weight”..Version: 12.9.0

Pretty goodI don’t pay but I do love the app it can scan so many brands 😂and I think it’s great as I said I don’t pay and it’s still FANTASTIC. The only thing I wish would change is the fact you can’t get it on a laptop. I also only got the app two days ago and I already know how to control the app ☺️ and the whole placement of the app is great so... I really LOVE this app it’s the best out of all the apps I’ve tried so you should definitely get this and I think the stickers they added are so cute anyway bye 👋😋😋😋.Version: 11.0.0

Great and pretty butDon’t like that the recent foods only show in the same category as it was inputted. Ex if I have an English muffin at breakfast, it doesn’t show up as recent for lunch. Or when you search the items you actually used don’t come up. Makes it more time consuming to re-add the exact item..Version: 17.0.0

Tenth year of using this Great AppI love this app - get serious about diet and exercise for months and then slack off but it’s always there on my iphone to return to. Over 6 months I tracked a 14kg straight line drop in weight and now need to return to that. I started in January 2009 when it was called ShapeUp club. As an older user I need to do 1000cals to have any hope of really loosing weight even though 1200 is recommended minimum - but today I had 10 grapes and it reported 140. Then total for the day 4184..... Ugh. Then I discovered the database had lost my date of birth. And the target doubled to over 8000 when I put in my d of b As I edited the target changed to 2000 cals and that could be changed to my usual 1000 cals. All a bit confusing but I think it must have been an update that caused a glitch..Version: 9.0.7

Life changingAmazing App. COMPLETELY helped to change my eating habits. EXTREMELY user friendly. My only complaint / suggestion would be better verification of food nutritional values as some foods are clearly NOT correct. PLEASE correct this because otherwise this app is perfect!.Version: 8.6.5

Request for a free trial for PremiumI am currently using the free version and loving it, especially the step counter and water tracking. I would be interested in the paid subscription as well but I don’t want to buy it and realise it isn’t what I was expecting. So I would love it if you could have a free trial going so I (and many other customers) can get a feel of the Premium version and then decide whether or not to purchase it..Version: 10.1.1

Premium is a problem...Lifesum is a great application for all devices BUT.. u can not access more than 50% of the best things advertised. Without paying $$$$ a month to get proper feedback, results, goals, recipes and much more are inaccessible to the everyday person. the developers of this app need to realise that money doesnt grow on trees.. and not every ambitious person can afford this much. plz make it cheaper!!! or put at least the necessities of a weightloss diet app for free!.Version: 9.3.0

Enjoying more than MFPThis app is great because it’s much more aesthetically pleasing than MFP so it makes you actually want to use it. The barcode scanner isn’t quite as responsive though. Also the search options are not as comprehensive I.e. if I searched for a specific prepepared salad from a well known shop it’s less likely to appear in LifeSum than MFP, but you can just use the barcode so it doesn’t really matter. I’ve lost just under 1kg in my first week (although I can’t give the app all the credit for that!) This app make things a lot easier & more appealing, I’d highly recommend the free version and would be open to upgrading at some point..Version: 12.0.3

Absolutely amazing app that helps you track you intake as well as exerciseI absolutely love this app. It helps you track your calories intake, dividing it into meals, tracks exercise, amount of water that you rink and fruit, veg and fish counter to keep you healthy. Love all the little reminders that you get if you have not eaten for some time, reminds about water as well. It then combines all this info with your step counter and gives you daily summary of what you consumed and what you have burned. It is suitable for people who want to lose weight, gain it or just stay healthy. Thank you Lifesum for making it easier for me.Version: 8.6.4

Great to keep on trackThis is a great app! Everything you need to keep motivated and on track- several different types of diets to choose from, kilojoule counter, massive exercise list so that you can track what you burn and recipes! As you add it makes adjustments to show where your intake is focused and lets you know if you’re off track. You can scan barcodes to add your food and then keep a favourite list to use. There is also a short quiz to check your health score before you begin and to add in your stats. I’m very happy with it and for the price it’s about the best motivator I’ve found. I think this will help me change my eating patterns for the better. I’ve lost 1 kg in 2 weeks so that is pretty good for me as I’m more accountable and being able to see the information about protein, carb and fat intake helps me plan my food better..Version: 14.4.0

I love this appAfter using several dozen, I’m not joking, different fitness/diet/meal tracking apps over the years I can say this is by far the best. It is the only one I have been able to stick with for an extended period of time. After using it for a year I am down 30 lbs! I feel much healthier and have learned to accurately estimate a serving when eating out. I’m drinking more water, eating more veggies, and working out more, too. The app is beautiful as many others have pointed out. I liked being able to explore different types of diets until I found the right fit for me. The only thing I would add to improve the app is the ability to create my own recipes with multiple servings in the app. Currently I write everything down, divide each ingredient by the number of servings and enter that manually to get an accurate calorie/macro count. It’s not a deal breaker for me, as everything else in this app is perfect, it’s just a little time consuming..Version: 18.1.0

Very please in generalI pay for premium membership and I'm satisfied but I would like net carbs to be calculated rather than just total carbs..Version: 8.6.3

Almost perfectI like this app. A lot. It does what I need in terms of tracking meals and exercise, and the UI is easy-ish to learn and quite elegant. However, there are a couple of wrinkles, which is why it gets four stars from me. The recipes are really tasty, and I love that I can add ingredients to the integrated shopping list. But, the quantities are sometimes in metric and sometimes in cups, which means very little to the average European. While I can do conversions into grams using the Internet, it adds a lot of time to cooking and complicates shopping choices. Also, an easy way of removing duplicates from the shopping list would be great, as many recipes use the same ingredients. Secondly, when I’m tracking a meal, the daily totals don’t refresh automatically. As a workaround, I found changing the day then back again does the trick, but it would be better if it was automatic. That being said, it’s a nice package and I’m using it daily. So far, the weight loss has been impressive, without feeling hungry. In fact, I reckon I’m eating more than ever!.Version: 16.7.0

Quite goodI found this app and it’s actually quite good, however most recipes and “going smarter” -to know more about what you’re eating - is part of the premium section. However, it is still quite good, with loads of food registered on the app, and you can scan a barcode of what you’re eating and most of the time it is on there. It also has a test to show if you’re healthy, balanced etc, and you can track your weight. You can also say how much water you drank, and you show the exercise that you did. That being said, when you have something like a macdonalds, you feel very annoyed looking at how many kcals you are over - for lunch. So, tracking your diet will either be really good, and I recommend this app and no other (yet), or really bad..Version: 8.9.1

Great UI, database, minor bugsVery impressed so far. I purchased the premium version and will see how it performs. Pros: - very nice and colorful user interface - extensive database - displays macro summary on main screen (which MFP does not with free version) -diet plans are a nice touch Cons: - recipes are sometimes too complicated or require too many ingredients - app is buggy at times and freezes/crashes on iPhone X Really annoying: for some reason the units revert back to the European system every time I select US system. Makes it annoying to have to go back and re-select US units..Version: 8.9.2

Great but could add more featuresI have used the app for a while and really like it but I think it would be nice to be able to create your own meal plan. Currently the only way to have a meal plan set up is based on the apps recommendations but I cannot add meals/recipes that I have created. It’d be nice to be able to have more options and choices there Other than that it’s a great app. I have a premium subscription and i love that i can see all the macro information and track water, veggie and fruit intake. Also links with most apps or devices to track fitness measurements. A small detail but one that i like a lot is the design and how cute it is. When you reach your veggie or fruit intake a little Brokkoli or something starts to dance haha.Version: 14.3.0

Beautiful App and Great Plans with room to growThis app is absolutely beautiful. If a smooth flow and easy navigation is important to you this might be a great place to start in your search for the perfect dieting app. In addition to the look and feel it also has some great content. My wife and I both tried the Paleo Diet for the first time in our lives. We loved the diet and everything it had to offer. We also both experienced incredible results in both energy and weight loss. The opportunity we found is after finishing the 21 day plan we would like to take a rest from a specific lifestyle diet and would like to just eat clean. We were excited to jump into classic dieting while browsing the easy to make recipes shared in the app. Unfortunately as of right now there is no way to create a grocery list and plan meals for your days unless you are in a specific diet from what we are seeing. This is a huge miss especially when we both paid for the premium service. Additionally we’d love to be able to link our accounts so we can be in sync between our grocery list, and what meals we have planned out for the day. All in all it’s a good app with room for improvement to become a great app..Version: 12.7.1

Very good appThis is the best app I’ve found for weight loss and healthy eating.Version: 16.9.0

GreatGreat app, but should add some more exercise options especially on days when I’m targeting specific areas like legs, back, chest, arms and core.Version: 10.1.2

Like the app, but too many features require premiumI switched over from MyFitnessPal to this app as I preferred the interface and the ratings of certain foods. I understand that there needs to be features that you would want to upgrade to have, such as more detailed food information. But some areas such as recipe/meal limits seem extreme - I could switch back to myfitnesspal now as they offer much more freedom on their app for the free features. Think about your competitors and what they offer compared with paying for a premium app - I’m not going to pay monthly to keep track of recipes! Love the design of the app otherwise though..Version: 8.8.6

Fun to use!I actually enjoy using this app! It's simple and intuitive, and the cute graphics go a long way. Seriously - it's cheery to look at, and that makes me want to use it! The nutritional recommendations are really working for me; and the day rating, and breakdown, really helps me to learn what I can do better It would be nice if I could create and save new foods (currently, you look up foods and pick the closest one. You can edit nutritional values to bring it more into line if your food isn't listed), but THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THE AUSSIE BRANDS!!! Even my extensive collection of T2 tea is listed!.Version: 8.6.3

AMAZINGIt’s almost like having a nutritionist at your beck and call at all times. It has helped me to make good choices on the foods I eat and my water intake. Couldn’t go KETO without it..Version: 8.11.0

Life changing.I’ve been using this app for about 6 months now, and just with the little nudges and encouragement it gives to eat the right amounts of the right things, and move more, I’ve managed to drop 4 pants sizes! I had never thought in the world of heavily monetised weight loss and fitness that it truly could ever be as simple as “eat less move more” (and it’s not really - it’s not eat less it’s eat the right amount!) but Lifesum has helped me learn that. 6 months in I find myself using the app a bit less, but that is because it has helped to teach me a better lifestyle where I don’t need to micro-track everything I eat to balance my day, but I’m still very reluctant to let my premium membership go because it has had so much of a massive impact on my life. Truly paradigm-shifting! The only thing I wish it had that it doesn’t is recipes that are a bit more “family” friendly (as in stuff I had a snowball’s hope in hell of getting a picky 4 year old to eat with me!).Version: 8.10.1

Fun Macro TrackerI really love the design of this app and that you can follow plans that will adjust your macros for you. I also like like that you can capture a photo of your food for each meal, however, unfortunately, this functionality doesn’t work most of the time. Once I take a picture it doesn’t show in the app right a way, most of the time I have to take the pic a couple of times, close the app, reopen it and then the pic may or may not show up. So it would be nice if that could get fixed. Also, there isn’t an easy way to copy a meal from another day to a different meal. So if I ate something for breakfast yesterday, there’s no easy way to copy that to lunch the next day. And when searching for foods, your recents don’t come up. For example, if I wanted to add a food and it’s not showing in my most recent but I’ve logged it before, it would be nice to have it so up in my search when I go to search the food in the search bar. Another thing this app is missing is the ability to see what foods were highest in each macro. So if I wanted to see what foods I ate that day where highest in fat or protein.. Other macro apps have this, which was nice because then you could see what foods may be bumping up a macro too much or vice versa. Overall I have enjoyed this app and really like the design. However there are a few functionalities that are missing..Version: 11.2.1

Changed my lifeThis app is so great! I have lost 10 pounds with it so far and I’ve only been using it for a little over a month! I don’t have the premium plan so you can lose weight on it without having to pay for it which is amazing! I will continue to use this app until I reach my goal weight and I truly believe I can do that using This app. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to lose weight while still feeling in control with the classic weight loss plan. Update 8/8/19: I’ve officially gotten to my goal of losing 40 pounds!!! This app is truly amazing, from being aesthetically pleasing to actually working this is an all around great way to track your meals and exercise. I have tried many other methods of weight loss and none of them worked for me, until I found lifesum. This app can change your life in the best way possible, if you let it. You have to be consistent and work hard but you can get there, and I truly believe anyone can effectively lose weight with this app..Version: 9.2.5

Great appThis is a great app for tracking calories, while also helping you to make better and more well rounded meal choices showing you how many grams of carbs, fat and protein you need per meal. It gives a calorie goal for each meal as well as optional fruit, water and vegetable counters that are customisable. You can also change the percentage of carbs/fat/protein to make it more customisable to your preferences. It also comes with pre made diet plans along with recipes so you can try different diets to find one that works for you. I started calorie counting using myfitnesspal app but prefer the ease and layout of this app more. This app is also more pleasing to look at..Version: 10.3.7

Best app everI started following this app 3months ago I don’t pay for full membership, I just use the free app , it’s been a life changer for me , I have become obsessed with my walking and eating a healthier food regime , I have always been a big meat eater , I am virtually a vegetarian apart from eating more fish than I have ever eaten , all processed food are now history , my weight is dropping steadily, my Doctor is amazed I was pre diabetic last year I am now completely the opposite, I am considering going into full membership as the results are better than I could ever imagined, I can’t emphasise how good I feel , try for yourself you won’t be disappointed.Version: 15.0.0

FantasticFantastic app, so easy to use.Version: 8.10.2

This is the best calorie tracking appTried other apps for trying to track my calories accurately and this one take the cake I scan everything I buy and it matches perfectly, must download for sure and I’m not even paying for the extra content it provides, great app!!.Version: 17.0.0

It works!!This app is great. Like some others here I’ve used MyFitnessPal in the past which I also found good, but after hitting 40 three years ago, the weight steadily crept on & id resigned myself to middle age spread. I started with the classic dieting & it was immediately clear that in my normal day to day life I was eating too many calories. After a few weeks & with up & down progress I switched to the 5:2 with a subscription offer & straight away I was losing 1-2lbs a week. Since October I’ve lost 13lb, 18lb overall since using the app. I hit my goal weight just before Christmas, which was an amazing feeling! I’ve varied with the exercise I’ve done & actually most of it has been yoga, so it’s been great to see the weight drop off without having to find the time to go to the gym. The recipes are easy to make & inviting. Thank you Lifesum!!.Version: 9.0.4

Healthy Eating!Lifesum has made it so easy for me to develop appropriate eating habits for life 🙂 I also love how aesthetically pleasing and colourful it is compared to others on the market!.Version: 9.2.2

Really good app to track your meals for free!Really good app to track tutor meals. I have subscribed to the premium versions that I unsubscribed the same day as it’s not really what I was hoping for! All meals are measured for 4 servings, clean eating options show receptors that contain meat, you can’t pick a meal by calorie content or at least sort them that way, your app also has receipts that look amazing but the list of ingredients is very long and there’s no way to extract the list if you plan your meals for few days in advance. As I cancelled my subscription with in few hours I am hoping you can simply revoke my subscription and not charge me for something I will not be using. If things change on your app I’m happy to revisit the idea of subscribing, however for now huge premium option is not for me..Version: 9.3.0

Too many bugs :(I have been using this app for a long time and love the design and features. However over the last few months the quality has gotten worse and worse. There are so many bugs now it is almost unusable. When you add food the diary doesn’t update properly, so you have to quit and restart. Adding recipes and meals doesn’t work half the time. It adds up calories and averages wrong in the lifestyle section. Half the time it won’t scroll down to dinner in the diary mode. It’s really disappointing and if it doesn’t get better I will have to try a different app. Certainly doesn’t feel worth paying for at this point..Version: 10.1.2

Would be perfect but ...........I have only just downloaded this app so I’m still playing around with it and navigating the various features. So far it looks amazing but I haven’t signed up for the premium version until I’m sure it’s going to be suitable for me. I noticed that there is a list of various food allergies and intolerances so I have added a couple that are relevant to my dietary requirements but I could not see one for Fructose Malabsorption and low FODMAP diets. If this was included in your app it could be the deciding factor for me paying for a Premium Membership. I see in your suggestions and feedback page there are a few other requests for the FODMAP diet to be included; any plans for adding it?.Version: 9.0.3

Data driven wellnessFor starters, I have lost 20 lbs in 20 weeks! I have 10 lbs to go, but feel great about it because I am learning so much about nutrition and forming healthy habits - I am not on a fad diet. This app is great for those who like to live the quantified life and can commit to entering accurate data. The label scanner is key! I love that I can pre-load my go-to recipes and meals, and that menu items from popular restaurants can be easily found. It’s still harder to use on days when I need to dine out with family and friends. The water tracker is great, and I love that the app integrates with my apple watch/iphone, and earns me back calories that I burn. It means I can eat a brownie and not feel guilty, because I get rewarded for going on a walk and am still able to have a “green smile” day! On the down side, customer support is non-existent. I have tried both email through the website and chat through the app. I just get robot responses and no solution. First I was hoping to get help finding the weigh loss graph I saw when I first signed up. I want to be able to track my actual progress against the projected progress, to stay motivated. Second, I have been experiencing a glitch with the daily stats. No response. I even tried deleting and reinstalling the app - no bueno. If not fixed soon, my rating u fortunately will drop to a 4. I put in a lot of effort providing accurate data - I expect to see accurate stats..Version: 18.1.0

A great App!! Just one thing to improve..This is a great app that helps me with planning my meals ahead and eases my mind off thinking how healthy i am eating. However there is one thing that could be improved to make it the beet app out there. While on a diet that does not have meal plan, i have to choose favorite meals from recipes. Later when i make my meal plan i have to scroll through all of my liked recipes which takes quite abit of time. I would recommend to the developers of the app to sort the liked recipes into sections of liked “Breakfast “, “Lunch”, “Dinner”, and “Snack” so that when planning a snack for e.g. i don't have to scroll through the mixed liked list that contains every meal in it. I hope this review was clear. Good luck in future developments!!.Version: 9.2.2

Good appLove the app, also the idea of the app is fantastic. Reason I knocked off a star is because of inaccurate nutritional information, I know it's impossible to get the information exactly right, but my friend has the upgraded version which rated deep fried chicken wings as the healthiest rating, amongst other inaccuracies! Otherwise great for keeping track..Version: 8.6.6

Seeking healthy eatingI have been using this app for a few months and love it. I recently rejoined WWA and was using their app to track my food but have switched back to this because of its superior information. This app shows just how nutritionally balanced each meal is and allows you to tweak your choices to get maximum nutritional support. Easiest way ever to manage the development of healthy eating habits. I look forward to seeing the smiley faces for each meal I eat. Good nutrition is more important to me than simple weight loss..Version: 10.3.8

This app is very well madeIt has easy to navigate features that any person who is either trying to gain or lose weight will benefit from massively. I have been trying to clean bulk and it has been helpful in making sure I am gaining weight, but also that I understand what kind of weight I am gaining (either fat or muscle). It not only helps a person keep track and stay consistent, but also does all the calculations for you. You don’t have to figure anything out, it just asks you some questions (height, weight, age, weight goal, etc.) and based on this key information, it decides how much you should be eating in a day, what type of nutrients and macros to get in your body, and even how much water to consume daily. On top of all this, it also gives you reports on what types of things you are doing great at or need to improve. For example: “Try to incorporate more vegetables and seafood (fish) in your diet.” Or “Try to drink more water.” Finally, I will say that I have been on this plan for 25 days so far, and I (someone that is known as a “hard gainer”) have gained 4+ pounds. I notice a size difference, and it is almost all muscle mass, allowing me to maintain abs and keep a lean physique. Overall, I 100% recommend getting this app. The only thing I would tell someone to do, is not attempt to become perfect. Don’t worry about little things such as “I didn’t eat all 3 meals today” or “I forgot to drink all 8 glasses of water”, just stay decently consistent, and you will see improvement. Thank you to this app.Version: 17.1.0

Great options for different kinds of diets and recipesI like the app overall. I've been looking to increase my protein intake and this app makes it easy. Also nice that recipes are included. Not sure I'll renew though due to one thing--the nutritional values for various foods are frequently inaccurate, even the ones marked as verified. So either descriptions are misleading or the numbers are completely off--you have to watch the totals carefully. Example, a tablespoon of jam posted as 600+ calories. Hope this gets sorted. Great potential here..Version: 17.3.0

What a relief! After trying a couple of other free calorie tracker apps, this is hands down the best by a massive margin. The last one I used was a shameful deluge of fast food advertising garbage! This one finds the food you eat (chicken) instead of making you plough through every fast food chain of items that has ‘chicken’ as an ingredient!! I seriously love the holistic approach this app takes, including data from your iPhone health? holy mother of God is that useful! Thank you. I would recommend this app over any other..Version: 17.0.0

Enjoy it but would like to see improvementsThis is the first app I’ve ever paid for, so that is saying something. I really enjoy the interface. It is easy to use and aesthetically pleasing. My biggest bugbear about it is that it keep reverting back to today’s diary when I am trying to plan future meals. I will be in the middle of adding foods, and then when I finish, I find that the app has reverted back to today and added the foods to today instead of the day I was in. This has been super frustrating. I would also like to see the ability to change the ingredient amounts of Lifesum recipes after you add it to your diary. Sometimes I’m following the lifesum recipe but have substituted ingredients or changed the amount. When I do that, I have to add all the individual ingredients into my diary and forfeit using the recipe shortcut to add to my diary. They’re the biggest things, otherwise, would be good if the barcode catalogue continued to expand to meet Australian needs, but it’s not bad..Version: 8.10.0

I’m FINALLY making progress with my weight lossI really like this app, it might sound silly but I think part of why it really works for me is how good the app looks, and it’s much simpler (in my opinion) than my fitness pal. I’ve read that the database isn’t as big as MFP but I haven’t run into any problems with being able to track my food or scan barcodes. When I first started using the app I lost 8 pounds in the first few weeks, so I’m finally under 160lbs! I haven’t been very consistent recently but I’ve just picked it back up again tracking calories and staying under my daily goal. I also love how simple it is to track macros. Overall, I’ve been wanting to lose weight for YEARS and stop gaining 10lbs/year on average and this is the FIRST tool I’ve found that has actually helped me make progress. Only negative I have is the meals on the different plans can’t be changed so I can’t really do them because I’m allergic to shellfish (I could probably just substitute though LOL).Version: 8.10.6

LOVE!!!I found out I have LDL that is too high so I decided to fine tune my diet and felt I needed an app to help me track everything. After doing a little research I decided to try Lifesum. After using it for a few days I purchased the pro version because I wanted to see more details about my nutrition and feel it was worth it. At first, I did not like how it has different faces that rate your food choices (smily face, frowning face, elated face etc. ) . I then realized that is because I did not like it when the face was not the super happy one (as in getting a neutral face after eating a processed salty snack for example) lol! As a result, having something as basic and simple as the faces that immediately tell you about the nutrition of what you are taking in, I find myself motivated to just have the green face with a huge smile on it! It is a very easy to navigate app, and I like that you can also scan a barcode from the packaging of food items. Lifesum is an excellent guide if you are ready to be honest with yourself about your nutrition and make improvements in your health..Version: 14.4.0

ExcellentWay better than Myfitnesspal, easy to navigate and understand. The apps reward you when you do something good. Simple and easy highly recommended..Version: 17.0.0

AmazingThis app is the best app I’ve downloaded so far it’s so easy to use and gives you amazing meals to try it can help you gain or lose weight and it actually works I’ve been trying to gain a lot of weight because I’m underweight and this app has helped me a lot it looks after your food and gives you some tips there are thing you have to pay for to make your journey better but I don’t pay anything and it’s still amazing it works and everything but when you pay you have access to more things I’ve never tried it thought because I know that I don’t need it because the app itself is amazing #loveit #downloadtheapp.Version: 9.0.4

Great but not perfectI’ve been comparing food tracking apps for a short while now and Lifesum definitely has the nicest interface. I appreciate the integration with HealthKit too, though I think a few other apps do that. I have a few things that could be implemented that I think would make lifesum even better. Features that I would love Lifesum to have: - The recommended target calorie ranges for each meal to be scaled to match your target. At present these remain set at the range for “maintain” eating, so if you plan your meals by these targets then you will overshoot your overall calorie goal. - Auto detection of fruit and veg from your added foods. I’ve seen this feature in other calorie counting dietary apps and it’s handy to not have too many button presses. - similarly it would be nice if food can be added first and then assigned to a meal secondly. At present there’s quite a few button presses to get your food added. - I would LOVE it if meals were suggested for dinner that helped you meet your carb/protein/fat target without overshooting. Sometimes it’s quite difficult to pick the right combinations at the end of the day. That’s all for now!.Version: 8.6.9

Awesome but glitchyThis is definitely the best calorie app I’ve used however it still has teething issues. Sometimes if use the add yesterday’s meal feature it doubles the ingredients or misses them off the list altogether. Also sometimes when I click an ingredient (i.e Greek yoghurt) as it was showing the wrong grams, it wouldn’t open Greek yoghurt but was opening quinoa? I removed them both and readded to fix but just little things like that. Also, it’s confusing how some figures are kilocalories and some figures kilojoules. Can we pick one or the other?.Version: 8.11.0

Delete My Fitness Pal!I don’t normally review apps but this is one EVERYONE should definitely try. This is the first app that I’ve actually lost weight with.. it actually helps you develop better eating habits. I know that there’s a lot of hype behind My Fitness Pal, but I swear, after trying both, LIFESUM BEATS MY FITNESS PAL HANDS DOWN. Nearly everything since the app has gone through updates is perfect. The user-face is simple and easy to use, without the annoying ads other apps have. You can adjust everything to fit your personal goals, even if they go beyond what the app recommends. They even include a macro calculator that makes things easy to calculate. The grading scale is really helpful to see where you can improve. It takes everything into account, calories, macros, sugar, fiber... it’s pretty comprehensive. Also, I love that I can keep everything private, it’s not necessarily a competition against all of my Facebook friends. The graphs and diagrams make seeing long term trends quick and easy. One thing I would love to see is something that suggests meals or specific items that would meet the goals of the meal. If I have 200 calories left and haven’t met my protein, fat, or carbs goals, what can I add to my meal that fits my goals? Other than that, the developers have done an absolutely stellar job..Version: 10.0.3

Great way to change my eating habitsHave had this app for about three months and it has made me much more aware of my eating and exercising habits. I have been able to make gradual changes to improve my overall health such as increasing my protein consumption and water intake as well as encouraging me to take up different forms of exercise. I was not trying to lose weight but have lost 9lbs. It would be even better if mums could use it more effectively although I know it would be tricky. Such as accounting for extra calories used through breastfeeding (I currently tandem feed my 2year old and 4 month old) or through pushing and carrying as I often log “slow” walks but can’t take into account I am simultaneously pushing a large toddler and carrying a 14lb baby! Probably accounts for the weight loss 🤓.Version: 9.0.2

I really like it!I really enjoy using this app. It makes me feel like I’m doing okay and decent with my eating. The only thing about the app I wish I could change was the smiley face day rating. I know I have to pay for a subscription to have access to the face. But tbh I wouldn’t use the rest of what premium offers. Just wish I could have the overall day rating to know I’m doing something write and learning what a good day is on my own. Other then that, great app😊🌸.Version: 8.10.6

Great appI think this is a really great app. It has everything you could want in a health and fitness app but I just can’t seem to find to switch options between showing my data in kj with calories instead as I prefer it. I also see that you can take pictures of your food, but would love the option to take progress photos of my body with the ability to look at the weight loss physically, please let me know if you have this option and I just can’t find it.Version: 9.1.1

Best app!I’ve been gaining weight over the last few years steadily and have tried many diets. Have found the ‚Classic diet‘ Option helping me to learn how to eat normal again and Im loosing weight!.Version: 9.2.2

Needs more featuresIt’s a great app. And the meal evaluations are helpful. However, it doesn’t allow: 1) for printing the recipes (easier to follow, my iPhone times out and cannot be adjusted). 2) to adjust a recipe to fit the daily macronutrient limits..Version: 16.9.0

Great App for tracking your calories!Lifesum is a great app for tracking your calories and I definitely recommend it. It has a great user interface, everything is clean and really presentable. The only downside is when you’re using it on two devices. The sync is a bit lazy and doesn’t happen immediately even after refresh, I think it happens in the background once it’s opened on the second device but it can take a while. So be weary if you’re using it on two devices to track. Also a few bugs where searching for food can sometimes display nothing or it logs it to the wrong meal (for example I tried to log a snack and it logged it to my lunch instead). But I’m sure this would get fixed in an update..Version: 10.3.8

Automatic TrackingI have an Apple Watch and the app synced with my inbuilt Health app quite well in regards to my exercises. However, on day 2 seems like it has stopped importing data from the Health app. Does it mean it only works with the premium version and I only had the first day as a trial?.Version: 8.11.2

Love the app as is but would also love upgradesI started using Lifesum to track my intake. It is easy to use and very visual. However, there are a couple of upgrades I would like seeing. First, I would like to see Fat broken down into Total, Sat, Monounsaturated, and Polyunsaturated. I would also like to see Carbs broken down into Total, Fiber, Sugar Alcohols, Added Sugar, and Net Carbs. (Currently, the app simply subtracts fiber from total carbs to calculate net carbs.). Also, since I work with a functional medicine professional who is interested in seeing my intake, I would like to see the ability to export data. As I used to program (albeit mainframe), I know how long upgrades take to implement; it is possible some of these are already in the works. They were meant only as suggestions. Long story short, I am very happy with the app as it is even if it misses some of my personal desires. Thank you for the work you put in to bring such a useful app to market. Oh, last but not least, I think it would be better to let users know that full, continued use of the app requires a subscription. The cost is nominal for the usefulness, but it was frustrating when I first found out about the cost after downloading the app..Version: 11.1.0

Why can’t we adjust macros for freeGreat app but why can’t we adjust macros for free without premium?.Version: 8.10.5

Great app, but could be even betterI wanted an app that would help me to increase my protein intake and allow me to break down my favourite meals into sensible food choices and this app is great for making you more aware what you are eating and putting into your body. The one significant improvement I would love to see with this app that would make it even better would be not only the ability to free custom log your calories, but the ability to free custom log your fat, protein and calories from other recipes outside the Lifesum app as the recipes are quite limited and there is only so many times you can make these over and over again. Allowing for the custom logging of recipes outside the app will allow for greater freedom for the user to track more meals thus using the app more efficiently. Yes you can log your recipes and add these to the Lifesum database, however the nutritional values are not always correct when you do it this way, and makes the recipe nutritional information added incorrect. An improvement like this for the app would make me then rate 5 stars, but at the moment I cannot rate 5 stars, as I just feel it is missing something to take it from great to awesome! I hope this feedback is appreciated, and look forward to future updates with this app and seeing what the developers can come up with going forward. Kind Regards, Chloë.Version: 10.3.7

...I started using this app nearly two weeks ago and it has been really helpful to track my food and I have already lost 5 pounds in one week alone and will most likely have lost more by the end of this week however, When opening the app today a pop up has began appearing advertising the “fit for fall” discount off of premium. I do not have the money to subscribe to any new subscriptions currently and the features provided without the premium membership and useful enough. However, the “fit for fall” pop up even after I press the cross still continues to appear every 3 to 5 second making the app impossible to use. Has this happened to anyone else?.Version: 9.3.2

Great app but small problemI’ve been using this app for about a month now and it’s very helpful to make sure I eat enough of the right throngs each day and tracking my progress. However with the latest update, the data for water and exercise seem to vanish. I put in that I drank 2 litres of water and walked for 40 mins (for example) but when I exit the app and go on it later, that data keeps disappearing. It’s not a major issue as I don’t primarily use this app for tracking my water intake and daily exercise but it would be much better if this problem was to be fixed. Other than that, I really like the app and would recommend..Version: 10.0.5

Great appThis app is awesome. Really easy to navigate through it with just a generally pretty cute layout that is also really helpful to use. My only issue with this app is that when you’re putting stuff in, its as though the app has saved food that the public has put through. So you’ve got things like 1 Apple is 50 calories but there’s also another option for 1 Apple at 40 calories. It gets confusing and a little annoying to have to try to decide which is more likely to be correct. And sometimes it doesn’t even HAVE calories. They’ve put it down as nothing. Get my drift? If it wasn’t for that factor, I’d 100% upgrade my account and pay the money because it’s great otherwise. There’s even recipes on there which you can add to your daily intake. It’s great. Good job otherwise..Version: 8.11.2

Help at handEven without going premium the tips are there and are really helpful - helps to keep you motivated.Version: 9.0.5

Keeps me on track! So far this app has kept me health conscious on my decision making very happy!.Version: 10.0.5

AimeTrès bien … je l’aime beaucoup Une petite amélioration que j’aimerais Déjeuner au lieu petit déjeuner Dîner au lieu de déjeuner Souper au lieu de dîner Merci.Version: 16.15.0

Pretty goodOne of the better apps i’ve tried but has a lot of wrong information and when you try to fix it it doesn’t let you..Version: 17.7.0

Great Food DiaryBeing new to KETO this app has been fantastic to help me keep track of what I’m eating and water intake, what’s high and low in what, and gives me little tips here and there. There’s different plans/goals depending on what you want to achieve or diet you want to try and you can switch between as you like. You also have a library of recipes that you can try depending on your selected plan. On the negative side: wish it worked with my Fitbit. Otherwise it’s a great app if you stick with it..Version: 9.1.1

LifesumI really love this app as I can see in full blown technicolour just how those little extras add up and push your calorie intake higher. I also love the fact that you can choose which diet you want, which kind of lifestyle you have so if your vegan or vegetarian or just have to follow a healthy diet then there’s an option for you, it’s great! However the only thing I don’t like which is why I only gave four stars is the measurements used, I’m vegetarian so I have to eat seeds and nuts etc and I only literally use a teaspoon of seeds the app then tells me I’ve eaten the whole bag, so I’ve pushed my breakfast up by 500 calories just because I can’t find the right portion size. I will persevere with the app as I love it so much and find it really useful..Version: 9.3.1

Helped me lose 10kgThis app was absolutely amazing for me, I used it over the course of around 3 months and successfully hit my goal weight (I wasn't exercising during this time). I used the pro version for the better half of the weight loss but really both versions are great. I 100% recommend this app for anyone trying to lose, gain, or maintain their weight, this app is super easy to use and incredibly helpful..Version: 16.2.1

Easy to useIt really helps me think about what I should or shouldn’t eat. I use the free basic version and I’m loving it..Version: 12.0.4

Please make the time cycle customizable for those who are night owls. Lovely app otherwiseI like this app a lot but the primary thing keeping me from getting the subscription is the time cycle. It resets every night at 12am. Not everyone is on that kind of schedule. The day is over when I go to bed lol. Sometimes I’m eating at 1am and every single time I input something, it adds it to the next day unless I manually go back first - and even then, it will often reset!! I’ll be making something and tracking multiple things on one meal, just for most of the ingredients to be logged on the next day. This is extremely frustrating. I’m not logging all that stuff again, so I just put in the total calories but then my macros are messed up. It’s upsetting enough to make me not want to use the app sometimes. Please make the times adjustable or something, I’m begging y’all. I don’t want to have to go to a new app, I like this one! Edit: Thanks so much for forwarding my comment to the team! I appreciate it very much. Added a star just for that, plus I realized that three stars was a bit harsh for one problem lol..Version: 17.7.0

Awesome, but last update was a let down.Hi Guys, Love the app, have been using it for more than a year and being a subscriber it helped me to stick to my diet. Guys, the last update however I believe made a bit less usable and also I think, I’m really not sure, it’s affecting my battery life. After an update a colour of the overall meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner) which corresponds to overall rating of your meal is now gone from the dashboard. You have to go in there to check the rating, which is annoying. On battery side: I had it on my Apple Watch 6, and recently I noticed that I couldn’t get through the day without watch annoying me that it’s running out of juice, whilst before it lasted 1.5 days easily. I started looking for the apps I don’t use on the watch and the only one was Lifesum, so I deleted and voila. My battery in the watch is back to normal. Same thing in the phone, only I use it every day in the phone, so deleting is not an option. Please look into this..Version: 14.5.0

Future updatesLove the app however, in a future update you should add where you can see your own recipes you make like a recipe book and from there you can edit and/or delete recipes. It gets a bit frustrating when I have to create a whole new recipe if I missed one thing!! :)).Version: 13.1.0

Amazing app🙌🏼Simple easy to use app and has a calorie count on almost every food. Love the ‘Scan barcode’ feature. Very informative and syncs well with Apple health and other health apps. Amazing for what you get without having to pay.🙏🏼.Version: 10.4.0

Absolutely love this appAs a younger male trying to watch my calories and track what I eat and drink I can find it quite hard because each food has different amounts and it can all be a bit much. But this app makes it incredibly easy to do so. In addition to this if you have an Apple Watch or Fitbit the app automatically tracks the calories burnt and steps done without and prior setup which makes it incredibly easy for you to calculate what you have burnt offThe premium version may be expensive but I would say it is so worth it!! The only improvement I would as for is that there is a different section for drinks rather than it all being listed under food..Version: 9.3.2

Great appI have been using this app for about 6 months now. I have actually lost quite a bit of weight with it. I didn’t realise how unbalanced the food I was eating was. This helped me learn how to eat the right food and how much to eat in a day. I was at an average weight before but now I am on the slim side and people have noticed the weight loss. The only thing stopping me from rating it 5 stars is that there are a couple glitches. Sometimes the exercises I input disappear and I have to input them again. Also it can be quite annoying when I am trying to update the previous days food and it automatically puts that food onto the current day..Version: 10.0.5

Great, but some bugsBrilliant application, amazing UI. The good. It’s got a great food database that contains a huge amount of data for the Australian market. It’s intuitive and easy to use. Logging food is quick and easy. The UI is simple and clean to look at and get key information such as macro split. The bad. Current version 18.0.0 is buggy. Food removal/deletion often hangs and sometimes gets to a point where food cannot be removed. ‘Same as yesterday’ doesn’t work, this morning the feature added my meal from two days prior, not yesterday. Sometimes the feature doesn’t copy any food into the current day. Managing custom food and recipes is not easy and not as feature rich as others..Version: 18.0.0

Beautiful design, great functionalityHaving been a Lifesum premium subscriber since 2014, I can say it’s 100% worth it. The new design is extremely aesthetic and the functionality offered by the app is the best in the market. I like being able to save food to a favourites list, create custom items/meals, save recipes in the app, track weight and body measurements and track categories like water, seafood, fruit and veg. The tracking is simple to use, giving a clear visual overview which is encouraging for keeping up with progress. I love being able to select a style of eating which reflects my goals (balanced eating for me, although there’s paleo, low carb, Mediterranean, high protein and more), and the feedback is tailored to that. I also like that I can edit my calorie needs and macro split. By far the best calorie/macro tracking app I have seen, and definitely the most beautifully designed. It’s pleasing to use and there’s also IOS widgets so I can keep my daily tracking in sight without having to open the app..Version: 16.0.0

Great appI really like this app I’ve been using it on and off for a few years now and I’ve just really got into using it consistently. It’s very informative of nutritional information and I love how easy it is to find products with the barcode function. It links with my Apple Watch so I can easily keep track of my progress throughout the day and also tracks my activity. You can set weight goals for yourself and log your progress as well as body measurements, the app isn’t limited to only weight losing goals as it can also guide you with gaining and maintaining your weight. The only real downside I feel is that I have paid for premium and the plans have very limited recipes. I am allergic to nuts which is taken into consideration on the recipes page but not in the plans. I think this would be better if the plans page had a wider range of recipes to cater for more people and also a wider range of recipes in general. Other than that I haven’t noticed any issues so overall very useful app..Version: 10.0.11

Works foe me!About a year ago I was told that I needed to lose weight for health reasons I set a goal of 100 lb weight loss. One of the things I did immediately was download this app. I had tried others before but wanted to give this one a go after I read about it. I needed a user friendly app that would not only track calories, but could help me look at what I was actually eating. I also wanted something that would interface with my Apple Fitness because I knew I was going to have to work out and walk more. It will be a year next month and I have managed to lose 77 lbs. I use this thing every day at every meal and it tracks my activity. This is been extremely helpful for me. It is important for me to know how many calories that I’m consuming, but it’s been very helpful to know the types of foods I’m eating. I have been able change some bad behavior patterns.. I feel certain I will continue to use this as a tool after I reach my goal weight. The premium version includes specifics diets it recommends based on your preferences, along with recipes all kinds of gems for those who enjoy meal preparation. Great app for me! Thank you to the developers:).Version: 16.2.1

Mostly GreatGreat app, only really at the beginning of using it but has been really good so far. Only slightly annoying thing I have noticed is that I mainly use on my IPad and when using the barcode scanner its hard to read the information on the screen as it only shows you half and you cannot move around on this screen. Probably just due to not being designed properly for my IPad. But yeah if that worked I’ll give this 5 stars easy..Version: 14.0.0

A bit oddI really like this app but it does confuse me a bit. For example it keeps asking me to weigh myself every day, which seems a great way to give someone an eating disorder. But, also, it gives me a “target” of calories that I should eat every day, but adds to that target if I add in even a tiny bit of exercise. For example, I work as a cleaner (four hours a day) and cycle about 45 mins a day. It adds over 1000 calories for that. Now that’s just normal life. I thought the adult recommended calorie intake was based on a person who moved a bit. Also, people burn calories all the time, even when sleeping, so to categorise exercise calories as “calories burned “ as if they are the only calories you burn is misleading..Version: 10.4.0

Good, needs workGood app, however there are flaws. when you create a recipe, I cannot differentiate added from natural sugars (eg fruit + veggies). A suggestion for a future update is to have the option to not display the calorie count but keep the health rating, for users who are focusing more on health than weight..Version: 16.0.0

The only health app I’ve stuck withI’ve tried lots of different apps to help me along my fitness journey and this is the only app I have been able and have wanted to stick with. It’s awesome when you track your food and are able to see a rating beside what you’ve had. Also, it’s very easy to track your exercise. As of recently, I have purchased an Apple Watch and it makes it even easier because it just takes the activity information from my watch and coverts it into the app. There is also a cool weight tracker you can use to count towards your weight goals. Tracking water intake is also nice and the app even gives you tips and encouraging words to reach your water, calories per meal, and exercise goals. I thought every app like this was the same and they all seemed so hard to figure out. Lifesum is short, sweet, and simple and I give the creators and developers of this app major props because usually I get bored within this category of apps, but this one has kept me focused and excited to use it. Thank you, Lifesum!.Version: 9.0.4

AmazingThis app is great for a lot of things even with the free version it’s amazing, as someone who tries to keep low calories this is amazing to keep track easier.Version: 14.2.0

Awesome, but there are some errors.I’ve been using this app for as long as I can remember and I recently just upgraded to the Premium, which I love! I love the aesthetic of the app and the visuals and colors it uses. I love the wide variety of recipes, even thought I don’t use them that much. I love the weekly rating I get so that I can look at my past week and see what I need to improve on for the next one. However, there are a couple things I find I have trouble with. The main thing is that when I go to update my weight, I check on it the next day and it says “Nothing lost, nothing gained.” So whenever I update my weight and maybe i’ve lost a pound or two, i’ll update my weight. But the next day when I go to look at my weight it erased it or changed it back to the starting weight. It does this almost all the time and is pretty annoying because I have to delete the starting weight that it put it back on for that day, at the same time deleting the weight that I put in. Another thing that’s minor is that when I go to take a picture of my food, sometimes it doesn’t work and the picture never shows up. I do really love this app but I don’t know if anyone else has the weight changing itself issue or not..Version: 10.3.2

Genuinely helped me change my lifeLike everyone I began the year with the feeling that I must get my physical health together so I downloaded Lifesum (after a painful failed attempt at jogging). I began tracking my usual meals and to my horror discovered that my eating habits had gotten way out of hand. After a few weeks of using the app I started to feel mentally and physically better. Actually seeing explicitly what I ate everyday made me take responsibility for my health. I was quite overweight for my height (200lbs) and managed to lose 50lbs in about four months just by paying attention to my diet and moving more. No fads, no ‘diets’ just not mindless eating. I am massively grateful to this app for helping me to pay attention to my health and get my life together. Would highly recommend..Version: 8.10.6

My perfect health app!So far I have been using this app for about two weeks, and it’s actually very impressive. I am coming from Samsung Health, which has helped me a lot over the past year and a half. However, after comparing the two, this app has so much more versatility and it’s very acute regardless of which diet you choose. I decided that I was going to go with the diet plan Clean Eating, and in doing so realized how off course my diet was. More specifically, my sugar addiction problem. I have been working on improving my cooking and reducing my sugar consumption so that I can live a much healthier life. With everything that is offered, I definitely believe that this app is worth paying for. The area I feel needs improving is relatively insignificant, but when you try to tap the back button the space that you’re supposed to tap is actually slightly beneath where it shows on the UI. I would like to see that fixed, but aside from that everything is awesome! I still haven’t explored the whole thing yet, but for what I have it works very well for me..Version: 8.11.1

Great app that’s sure to get even betterIve been using Lifesum for a couple months now. Honestly I don’t use it everyday (I don’t track on weekends) but I love it! I love the look of it and the fun and encouraging tone. Love being able to see my macros front and center and seeing how my meal is looking on carbs, fat and protein. Two edits: as a previous review stated, notifications could use some work. Don’t need to weigh myself every single day, and also don’t need notifications for things I’ve already done (like log breakfast, etc.). Also get a note at 6 asking how my dinner was and I don’t eat til about 7:30 bc of my commute (this notification reminds me how much I hate it!! lol). Also, I’m a vegetarian, so I got the app to track my protein intake. So wish there were more usable vegetarian recipes (creamy avocado pasta might be delicious but... where the protein yo?), and that vegetarian was just straight up just one of the diet plans. For the record, I use the Simple Dieting setting and have not lost any weight (maybe it’s that not tracking on weekends thing... 🤔). Anyway, overall I am super happy with Lifesum and love the app 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼.Version: 8.8.9

Needs improvementI think overall it’s a good app. I can’t afford the premium features so I basically have to ignore the day ratings. You can’t customize the macro goals unless you have premium and mine are different from the ones they set for me. The one thing that really irks me is their meal rating system. It doesn’t teach indulgence in moderation, which I think is key to maintaining a healthy diet, and it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. If you eat one sweet thing it ruins your entire meal rating. For example: I had scrambled eggs and protein powder in coffee this morning — it gave both of those an excellent rating on their own, but didn’t give the meal as a whole a good rating because I hadn’t consumed enough calories. Then I had half a serving of honey vanilla Greek yogurt and it gave it a :| rating, which then ruined my whole meal rating. And you can get an explanation for why things are rated that way unless you pay for premium. I try to get good ratings all day so it really bugs me when I get a bad one. I’m starting to just not take them seriously..Version: 9.0.6

Won’t even loadAs soon as I open the App it crashes. Was working and since the update can’t use it at all!!.Version: 8.8.8

Perfect tracking appI read others reviews of how beautiful this app is, everything I read was true. It is so easy to use and has so many features to customize to you need: meal plans, pre-calculated macros, recipes. I love that it counts down how many macros you have left and it offers several barand percentage graphs to track your progress . It also compares your daily intake to your stated goal intake. I used Lose It before and it was fine, but this one is way easier and faster and even after 3 days I’m already making better choices because I enjoy tracking and I want to get that smilie face that days Balanced lol it sounds a bit strange I know but it’s just another tool to encourage you to stick to your goals. I could not love this app any more . The developers obviously put a lot of thought into this and it’s just a delight to use. I have a family so I don’t have time to mess around with complicated tracking apps and this one makes it possible for me to stick to my goals while loving a real life. It is sustainable and I look very forward to the results I get because someone created this incredible app. Thank you so so much developers. It’s already hard enough to work, have a family, and then try to eat healthy and workout? It’s a lot and you make it possible. Thank you.Version: 14.13.0

Love it so far but have some bugs?Generally i really like the tidy and easy to use setting. Im using premium and happy anout the price. face rating is very cute as well. Im just gonna write down some issues i had so it can be improved. 1. Sometimes when i click and add food to previous days, it will be added to today's. Which i have to delete them all and try several more times. 2. when i add food list, it should add up to 3,000 kj but it says i had more than 30,000kj giving me sad face lol.... 3. sometimes the app freezes and i have to close it completely, try few times to open it and work it again. I dont have issues with other apps so i dont believe it is my phone. It happened to me 2-3 times during the last few weeks. 4. Picture update is very slow. It is not instant, there is lag for sure..Version: 9.1.3

Great app, just needs more dataThis is a great app that gets used multiple times a day to track my food intake. I love the layout and functionality - the only thing that needs work is the nutritional information database, as it’s a bit inaccurate sometimes - though adding in the details is very easy. Also having more plan options would be great ie salt reduced, sugar reduced etc. Other than these small issues, it’s definitely a great app and worth the paid subscription as it helps me measure my healthiness..Version: 14.5.0

Life sum - amazing appFirst - it is easy to choose your eating plan for 21 days. And with the thermometer I see myself eating healthier, as I lose weight. Second - it is easy to log my progress - Daily! Third - daily it offers me a menu for all three meals and snack AND I can swap out a meal for another. I DON’T HAVE TO FIGURE OUT WHAT TO COOK THIS DAY. That’s amazing. Actually maybe the best part. Fourth - it reminds me by text to drink water, or to encourage me with “great work”. I haven’t even discovered all the App’s built-ins and I’ve been enjoying myself for 24 days. Even my husband is not complaining, although he should be now buying a size smaller in jeans. He’s beginning to look like a Rap Dude..Version: 16.10.0

Visually and functionally amazingThis app is 100% worth the money. In fact, I think it’s cheap! (But please don’t put the price up 😂) I’ve used a lot of trackers in my day and this one is by far the most aesthetically pleasing, as well as easy to use. It’s amazing how you can choose different diet plans and it adapts to help you stay on that particular track. The little encouraging notes every day are so helpful too. Such a great app! Highly recommend..Version: 9.0.3

SuggestionsAmazing app I love it but if I may offer some suggestions for any future updates? You should add more plans and you should offer expertise and workout suggestions for each plan you are on to help the customer reach their goals whether it is building muscle or just getting healthier I hope you take these suggestions under consideration, cheers.Version: 9.0.6

Good App so farI like the app so far. Although sometimes it won’t load when I open it so I have to clear the app and try again. (I have iPhone 11 Pro Max) Some food ratings are not accurate and I like how you can make suggestions to improve them..Version: 13.1.0

Amazing but..Honestly this app is great, and it’s the truth hands done one of the best. but .. i mean, okay i get it , the developers need to make money off of it as well, but they keep shoving you tests ( that are technically super useful) and then to proceed to take a plan , and it’s really annoying for me particularly because as much as i love this app i can’t pay for a plan and is kinda useless , they don’t track alcohol / smoking .. i smoke a lot and often drink alcohol , especially on weekends ( and that plays a huge part for your health / metabolism ) , and there are some info that should just let be left for free or .. at least have an free plan in hopes the user achieves it and for the next plan, actually pay for it, why should i pay for something if i don’t know if it’s going to be beneficial to me ? ( and for this matter my body!) the interface is nice i 100% love it , it’s somewhat okay to use but i got the hang of it really quickly the search option for food it’s pretty .. international to say so, it finds foods/snacks from all over the world and it’s amazing for that. the whole app is great !.Version: 8.8.3

Good but buggyI’ve used this app for years and love it, but there are some issues with bugs lately that are irritating. 1. When adding food to a meal there is an option to add the same as yesterday, but this doesn’t work. 2. My stats is currently broken even when I’ve added meals for the day so I can’t check how much fibre I’ve eaten. 3. There is no way to send bug reports or feedback from the app!!!.Version: 18.1.0

Distinguish between fats?Like the app a lot. Keep trying others but this hands-down wins. The only thing I’m not keen on is lumping all fats together. Mono unsaturated fats are healthy, but they’re never distinguished from saturated or trans fats. So I feel I get penalised for eating, say, an avocado. And a tin of tuna blows my fat ‘allowance’ out of the water. Also, the auto tracking seems to deactivate itself every night. I have to go to settings every morning, re activate and reconnect to Health app. But like I said, I would still highly recommend this app..Version: 9.1.0

A m a z i n gI’m usually not one for healthy eating and all that jazz since I’m just a eat-when-hungry-eat-when-bored kinda 14 year old but this app makes it so simple to lose weight. It honestly makes you feel great about yourself while giving small tips of encouragement. I HIGHLY recommend getting this app even if you’re just planning on having a healthy lifestyle or if you’re just generally interested in how you’re lifestyle is..Version: 8.10.2

SuggestionGreat app, I’ve been using it for over a year everyday. I do however think a great addition would be to offer users to choose how many meals they have a day. From someone that has 6 meals a day it would be easier to track each meal individually rather than combining them into the strict 4 meal options available on the app..Version: 9.3.2

Just What I NeededI’ve been struggling to hold myself accountable when it comes to eating healthy and exercising ever since I gave birth to my daughter last summer, but this app makes it possible to keep track of my calories, fat, protein and sugar intake on any given day, and keep track of my workouts and it has made a difference! The first 10 days of using it, I mostly focused on eating healthy and staying under my daily intake. I lost two pounds and have since incorporated working out in the past week and have lost an additional 1.5 pounds plus 1.25” off of my waist. My pants are beginning to get a little looser and my face is noticeably thinner as well. I’ve been using this app since May 17th and I am happy with my progress so far. I gave the app four stars, however, because I’m paying $21 for three months but the add-ons don’t seem worth the money. I’m grateful for them but they are things so could have figured out with a quick google search. There are also not a whole lot of vegetarian recipes and many of them are not the healthiest..Version: 9.2.1

Almost perfectI have used this app for around 2 years and had the premium service for a year. I believe this app has one of, if not the best user interface compared to its competitors. Very user friendly and has a visually appealing UI (I did personally prefer the previous user interface slightly though) However, as someone who wants to track all my meals throughout the day it can be frustrating to have to wait more than 10 seconds for the app to open. As a nutrition app, I feel like loading speeds should be more of a priority as users will likely need to be opening the app up multiple times a day. Please fix this issue, many other nutrition tracking apps don’t have this problem..Version: 16.9.0

Very good app!I love this app, it’s very easy to use, you can have control of what do you eat everyday and you can even scan the barcode of food and it put it straight in the app, which I found amazing. I paid 3 months for 9.99 pounds and I think it really worth it. There are so many diets, and focused in different targets. Even my boyfriend love the recipes, they are very tasty. I have used it for a month and I think is one of the best apps I have used for healthy meals and healthy lifestyle. I recommend it 100%. Also, you can filter recipes with dinner, lunch, calories, etc. Which I think it’s very useful..Version: 14.9.1

The app is great but could be better.I really like almost all of the features in this app and how well it synchronises with apple HealthKit. However a free trial would be great to see how well it works before buying a subscription. Additionally the app is really good at scanning barcodes so it knows how many calories are in products consumed. This is great when tracking food consumption during breakfast / lunch / dinner. I would however, like to see the app be able to collect nutritional information from website recipes from popular cookery websites. I have a cookery app that can do this so surely LifeSum could do it too? In addition to this I’m unsure how the app calculates how much food you should be eating. I got the app to help me maintain my weight but the app suggests I should be eating more than I do even though I feel full up..Version: 9.2.3

Beautiful and easy to use with some adaptability issuesFirst of all, the visual design of this app is incredible. Other similar apps have designs that make it feel outdated, which in turn can make the data or plans feel outdated even when that’s not true. Gorgeous color scheme, icons, motion design, etc, and lots of great features like the barcode scanner and ability to quickly select previous days’ meals. However, there’s a few issues with how the tracker adapts to your daily activity. The app will add to my remaining calories if I’ve been active that day, but the macros that it has set will not adapt with them. For example, it tells me to eat 120g of protein per day, but yesterday I happened to be super active and had 1000 more calories I could eat. Even though I had a huge amount of calories left, my macros didnt adjust, so I had a bright red indicator on my macros for going over even when I really should’ve eaten more. For how much I love the rest of the app I really dislike how those goals stay static. I also wish it could connect to Fitbit with a little more detail- I don’t use Apple Heath to track my steps and wish it could detect steps, type of workout (like weight training), etc from the Fitbit app. All in all, I love this app and would absolutely recommend it to everyone, just be aware that it’s okay to ignore the bright red macro counter if you’ve done a lot of activity and need to eat more that day..Version: 12.2.0

Great interface and easy to input foodsI find this much, much simpler to use than fitnesspal and i much prefer the aesthetics. The exercise list is limited but sufficient for me for the time being What would be really helpful: as someone with health issues, it would be useful to have more information on nutritional intake eg iron, magnesium, iodine etc It would be great to link it to my menstrual cycle app or if a menstrual cycle thing was added in to lifesum as it would allow me to develop a clearer view of how my diet affects my body and what my body needs more of. (I could also dispense with entering info into a separate menstrual cycle app - none of which seem to link nutrition and exercise to create a more holistic view of ones body) Both these features i would be happy to pay for as it would be useful..Version: 8.8.9

Pretty satisfiedIt was actually a lot a better than I expected it to be Good for someone looking for just a simple app to help track meals when you can’t be bothered to do it on your own. Has a set goal for you each day. Without the paid premium, it helps you easily track your calories, proteins and fat and gives you ratings on your types of meals with little smiley faces. Also reminds you to drink water and gives you little glasses to click on and fill which -surprisingly- actually motivates me to drink more and fill them all up just for the satisfaction. Same with the protein, fat and calorie bars. I like seeing the bars full, good for motivation. Very easy to type in and search for all the foods you had for your meals and gives you their ratings as well. Aesthetically pleasing and easy to use and get around. Also gets straight to the point and tells you where you’re lacking. Takes into account what your goal is and in how much time you want to achieve it. I don’t have premium, but it still has a good amount to offer. Could add more recommended recipes for people who don’t use premium though..Version: 10.1.1

Great app for diet mindfulnessI love this app and find it so user friendly and aesthetic that it makes you constantly want to keep using it (I tend to get bored of them). It’s the first app I have paid for a subscription for a don’t regret it at all. A couple of things I would love to see in future updates; - the ability to import and merge recipes from other online platforms (such as pinterest) as I’m sure everyone has their staple recipes and see something they want to try every now and again but don’t want to add each ingredient one by one - the ability to build your OWN meal plan for the day. This way if you know what ingredients you have you can scroll through the suggested meals and preplan for yourself. It’s a bit unorganised/disheartening when you don’t have the stuff for what’s recommended in your daily meal plan - suggestions of foods for balance based on what you’ve input for the day already But I really love this app and will continue to use it religiously.Version: 8.8.1

In desperate need of a reality check!!I’ve had this app for a while now and only recently decided to get the premium. One issue I’ve found so far with most of these apps is how frustrating it is to track when you cook for yourself every day. I wanted a feature where I could meal plan for the week in advance so I could see how many calories my recipes are and then decide whether I wanted to do them or not. STILL after purchasing premium, it is an absolute nightmare. I can’t delete old recipes so mistake ones just linger about. I can’t edit recipes so if I think to myself hmmm maybe I should swap the heavy cream for yogurt this time so I can eat more of the food I love (as yogurt is not so calorie dense), I can’t!!! Or I have to input the 20 or so ingredients all over again (maybe even a copy past function for ingredients would be handy). When I can’t see exactly how many calories my meal is going to be, its really frustrating, especially when it takes so long to track the recipes in the first place. Plus there is a meal planning function for Lifesum’s own recipes, but not mine!!!! Realistically, people cook their own recipes more than not. They’re not going to be doing a Lifesum recipe every day of the week (heck, I don’t even need to do one) - its too much of a learning curve when their own recipes could be healthy enough..Version: 16.9.0

ConfusionI have used Myfitnesspal for years, however this app and mfp give me two wildly different recommended calorie intake to lose weight. This app gives me an extra 400 calories....how?.Version: 8.7.0

Great for tracking food and encouragementEasy to track, is dynamic in that it gives you tips and notification to reach your goals Would be great if the recipe section could creat a shopping list for you.Version: 8.10.2

It’s almost perfect….I love the Lifesum score that you get every Monday. It’s really motivational and it helps me to see where I’m lacking and what I can improve on during the next week. I enjoy how it tracks all my macros, and my macros are adjustable. based on my own needs. I love the fact that I can scan things and then I can create quick recipes and I love that it will let me add the same thing that I did yesterday as a repeat option. The smiley face ratings at the end of each day some of my favorite parts of this app, I love seeing the dark green happy face or even the light green because I know that I have hit my macro goals for the day, i’m also a competitive person, and therefore I do whatever I can to make sure that I end with a light or dark green smiley face. Now, for the things that could make it perfect. I wish I had the ability to adjust the number of meals I eat in a day. Or no meals and just track all my food. I am the type of person who likes to eat multiple times a day and trying to fit all of my” snacking“ into meals is kind of a pain. It’s annoying for me to have to realize OK I have maxed out in my macros for breakfast now the rest of my food is for lunch, or dinner. I would like to just be able to track everything for the day and break it up however, I want to. I wish the intermittent fasting also tracked better. Because I can start a fast and end fast, but there’s no logging of it. There’s no way to see what days I fasted and what days I didn’t..Version: 18.1.0

Almost there.. 2 Major issues for me..I love this App, it works well with the iPhone and Watch but the problem comes when you also want to use the iPad app. The iPad app doesn’t support landscape mode for some weird reason, I wish they would app that. But the main issue is there’s no syncing between iPad and iPhone. You have to log out of the app then back in to force it to Sync. I paid for a subscription so hope they will fix these issues soon. If they did the App would be perfect for me..Version: 9.0.3

Almost perfectI use the app on a free basis and really impressed with what’s on offer. It’s helped me make healthy choices and steers me away from the cupboard because I feel embarrassed logging what I’ve just snacked on 🙈 I’ve had some time away from the app and have slipped back into an unhealthy lifestyle so I’m back on it and hoping to make some drastic changes. A couple of issues for me. The calories I’ve lost aren’t correct and worth the developers looking to see if there’s a glitch. I’d lost 3lbs in the first week and it recorded that only 2lbs were lost. It’s actually deflating because I’d worked so hard and I wanted to see that number on the screen. It instantly put me off keeping to the plan as bizarre as that seems but I’m definitely driven by the amount of calories lost. Also I’ve been breastfeeding and can’t see that there’s an option to put this into your profile. I would like to see this on the app to help other ladies who are breastfeeding make the right choices but get enough nutrition for their babies. apart from that, it is a great free app..Version: 14.7.1

I love it, but needs improvementsI basically got addicted to the app, I use the free version for now and it literally made me more consistent I drink water and work out and I can see which food is good/ bad and now I have an idea of how many calories the daily products I use have so I quit some of them. But I find it strange, somehow I noticed the calories are changing all of the sudden in some crazy numbers, first it shows my intake over ex. If I have 90 kcal and then it jumps to 600 kcal left (for a snack). At first I thought I’m imagining things but now that I pay attention it happens every day. Please do something about it cause I’m planning to purchase the premium but like this is tricking me to eat more and being a beginner I still don’t know how much I have to eat. I also find it strange that it doesn’t sync with the step counter so I just have to insert everything manually which takes a lot of my time. I downloaded Argus and i can say it really has a lot to offer, many options and possibilities but I found it difficult to put food in so I gave up, otherwise Its way better, if you could do some improvements following their example we will all be happy. Thanks again for helping me get back on track! I will give you 5stars and purchase the meal plan✨I love you guys ❤️.Version: 10.3.7

Kids need the appSome kids like me need to lose weight , mostly kids who are 10 and above like me . Please make the app 10 and above so I can use it ..Version: 8.9.2
