Keeper Password Manager for Negative User Reviews

Pop-Ups ads are too muchEvery single time you open the app, there’s a pop up ad… I hate this app.Version: 16.8.4

Cost is a hard pill to swallow, but the app is solidI’ve been using the app for years almost since the beginning and way before they could afford advertising billboards all over the Southern California. The app does work VERY well and is very easy to use. Anyone could figure it out. I highly recommend it so please know if your reading this my complaint is how expensive it has become. With that being said each passing year I feel like the price is practically doubling and I’m using none of the new added features. Not that I don’t want to, but I don’t need them. As the price keeps going up each year, free and close to free apps that do similar things are hot on the tail. It seems like the app is trending towards company employee solutions and moving away from the regular individual user who doesn’t want to use Apple passwords. That’s fine if the business model is changing, but please consider having a “going back in time” stripped down KISS password app with just the user name and password only and I’d be happy. Like most all companies everywhere we all are entering treacherous times and trimming the fat is now necessary..Version: 16.9.4

Be Careful!!I have been using this app for about a year and have over 100 login, passwords and notes for numerous business and personal accounts. I just bought an iPhone X and for some reason it’s asking me to log in for every app on my phone. I tried to log in to this app using my email and password and I can’t get in. Worse, after 4 tries, I get a message that all my data has been erased. There is literally no way to reset your password, and there should be a way with security questions, etc. Now all my login and passwords are lost and I’ve spent a lot considerable time putting all of this in from various written sources. Customer service is of no help at all, saying basically “too bad”. UPDATE: after 20 email exchanges, customer service says “we can’t do anything for you” and maintains that because I purchased a new iPhone that my data has been wiped. They can’t retrieve it, can’t even locate my correct email address in their system. READ ALL THE REVIEWS. THIS APP, PAID OR FREE, WILL SOMEHOW LOSE YOUR DATA! If you change devices, lose or destroy your phone, your data is history. Twenty emails and they’re still asking me “do you have another email account?”.Version: 11.2

App Failed5+ year customer. Multi platform (iPhone -> PC) synch to web vault failed outright. App quit updating web vault without any flags or warnings. Will not auto or manually update web vault. Contacted support. Communications from Keeper were unclear at best. Every single communication from Keeper required a carefully structured response question from me to have them simply answer my questions clearly. In the end: app failed, sorry for your frustration. The Fix: You must manually update your more current iPhone passwords to web vault. Initiated divorce and told them to enjoy the $500+ I’d donated to them over the years for an app that suffered a core failure in its functionality. CORE FEATURE FAILURE! Not merely a frustrating inconvenience. An utter, uncompensated failure. Adios..Version: 16.8.4

Application payanteL application ne permet pas d enregistrer les mot de passe sans un forfais annuel.Version: 16.9.0

No service at allI have had password keeper for over 10 years, great app, made my life easier and I told all my friends how great the app was. In November 2021, I could open the app but the majority of my passwords were gone, I could access them all by logging in on the website. I realized that my account was linked to an email I no longer had access to. I reached out through email explaining what I needed help with and was told that they would send an email to the email on the account ( No longer active email which was included in the request for help). I then received an email stating that keeper was closing this complaint due to the email associated with the complaint was not in the system. I continued to request help, I found were I had been paying for 2 subscriptions for years and still no one could help I was able to download all my usernames and passwords into an excel spreadsheet. One membership cancelled March 22, 2022 and the second one cancelled April 3, 2022. Great app ZERO Customer Service!!!!!!!!!!!.Version: 16.5.1

Terrible AppTerrible app!! I wish I would have read the other reviews about the extortion and erasing all your files if you don’t pay them!!!! I wouldn’t have having this issue now if I would have read what others had done to their stored info. They trick you into thinking you have a free version and then when your IOS upgrades it completely deletes all your stored information WITHOUT WARNING and they do nothing about it. They email you saying “this is the risk you take using our app” Why make an app that does this?? They want to charge ridiculous price for an app that is essentially the same as your notes section. I wish I would have never stored anything in the app, if I would have just used my notes or a different app and I wouldn’t have this problem now. Have tons of stored passwords there that I had been using for years and now they just all disappeared and unretrievable. Definitely consider using a different method for storing your important information before you lose all of yours as well!!.Version: 14.0.2

Swore by keeperBut I have been struggling for a month to get my storage restored after a month delay because of hospitalization. Now I keep running into the oh now you renewed so you can still keep using it, but when I click on it to access my storage information it keeps telling me that I need to renew now. I can’t get anybody on the phone. I can’t get anybody to fix it so if this I’m gonna go find another place to keep my business because this is absolutely ridiculous All of my storage is gone deleted and it was due to be paid May of 24 I was in a bad car accident, and had a lot of other things happening and didn’t get to renew until June or beginning of july and all of my stuff is still missing and there is no restore option, and when it goes to storage, it tells me I need to renew now and if I renew now, it tells me that I’ve already paid and it’s not due to expire until May 2024 so what the heck. Also I’m having really bad back spasms of any sense then somebody from support should fix it for me and then delete this.Version: 16.8.4

Free version ends in 30 daysYou can access all features during the first 30 days but after that you will need to pay even though it’s a small amount to keep the full access. The free version has quite limited features and I find them inconvenient.Version: 15.0.4

Utter disgraceThis company is a disgrace and a nightmare to deal with. I tried this service, which in itself I have few problems with, well over a year ago but having found a better alternative decided to cancel my subscription. This I did successfully. In the more than a year since this company has removed funds from my bank account, without permission and for a subscription that was cancelled and closed, on TWO separate occasions and totalling FOUR transactions. Once I can accept as a “clerical error” but for it to happen again a year later is completely unacceptable and for me borders on the criminal. Steer clear is my advice. If I could give it zero stars I would..Version: 14.9.1

Uses extortion to get you to renewDo not recommend. They held my passwords hostage.Version: 11.0.0

Stop asking me to purchase things! You know, I really don’t ever leave reviews but I feel compelled to leave one here. I paid something like $15 for Keeper Unlimited and I really use Keeper on a weekly basis - probably every few days or so. It’s definitely a life saver however, I can never retrieve a single password without being told I need to purchase something or other to further protect me. I already paid $15, I just want a secure place to keep my passwords. I don’t need to click a cursory “Stay Unprotected” button to continue through and retrieve a password. It adds an additional step to an otherwise easy process. I already paid for this app otherwise I really would use another password keeper. I guess I’m sort of “pot committed” at this point. I would caution other people to use another password keeper however because of this app’s exceedingly annoying scheme of asking users to continue paying for different protection schemes every so often..Version: 14.3.3

Won’t let you delete unless you payGarbage app, won’t allow you to delete passwords unless you pay. Be aware..Version: 16.7.2

Beware!I have just renewed my yearly subscription and they charged me an extra £6.99 even though I removed the data storage from the webpage(which defaults in when you try to renew and has to be unselected) AND double checked the amount before I hit confirm purchase. Yet they have STILL charged me for storage I did not ask for and had confirmation of the amount I would be charged. Sorry but this is theft and I am disgusted with this company. I am awaiting a refund but regardless, error or no error their part it’s a disgraceful practice and I expect people don’t complain with it being £6.99 but just how many £6.99’s have they stolen in this way? Update: a complaint was logged on Friday. It’s now Tuesday and still no response. After using the chat function I’ve been advised to contact a support line in Chicago. Hardly convenient for a customer based in the UK..Version: 14.0.2

Very good - but...I pay a fee for this app, which is fair enough. Suddenly, last year, (and I fell for it), suddenly there’s another 'fee’ for updates! To my mind, registering and paying, particularly if it’s not a once only fee, includes any updates needed to keep it running. Despite having paid this extra fee last year, I found that my PC and iPad weren’t syncing. I eventually tracked this down to Keeper on the PC being out of date. No notification that an update was available, unlike the app on the iPad where update notifications are the norm..Version: 14.2.3

Too many popups and ConfusingToo many tabs and no option to see everything in one place (payments and logins are separated). Also every single time I login there’s always pop ups to either back up or upgrade and it’s annoying.Version: 16.8.0

Dodgy companyAvoid! They seem to have no interest in having a working product, just how to extract as much money as possible. Despite advertising a 1 month trial, you are hounded form the get go to pay up (& tech support seem to have no idea how this works or what the trial covers). Other discounted deals flash up on screen, but don’t work when selected. Tech support again seem to have no idea about these. Product is clunky. Support is defensive..Version: 14.7.2

ScamThey offer it as a free app and then after a short period you get told to pay for full version and that your data is no longer secure unless you pay up for full version. Plenty of false reviews saying free version doesn't expire, well it does. Not recommended, quite dishonest really..Version: 4.11b

I feel like this was a bait and switch. No where in the description did this say it was a free trial. Once I downloaded and started to enter passwords did I check the account and it indicates that my trial period expires in a month. I purposely did not select the pay version. I have no idea what I’m getting for the free trial and if it will automatically lock me out after that month. Not worth the headache to find out..Version: 16.8.4

BillingProduct is good but their auto billing is a shambles. It’s never autobilled in many years of using. This year I receive the email to renew when I try to do it’s already billed my card 20 odd days before expiry. Not impressed.Version: 14.0.2

I am not a fan!Would not recommend purchased in error still waiting for a response back to stop auto renewal!!! Oh and all the nicknames I choose have been taken!!!! After 50 odd attempts.Version: 11.5

Don’t get caught out!App works fine. Basic concept using a master password or finger print ID to store passwords. However, if you choose to pay for their vault be aware that if you don’t renew your overpriced subscription your account is disabled and you won’t be able to access your passwords. Very vague instructions for disabling the auto renew which I simply cannot find. I had to pay to get some valuable passwords and will now delete the app. Not worth the money!!!.Version: 11.5.1

Waste of timeCan’t even handle 16 photos, use something else, this will just waste your time and patience.Version: 13.0.1

Lost all data and they told me "that's the risk of the free version".I have been using this app for 1.5 years. It always gives me the choice to "keep using the free version" or "upgrade". I always choose just to keep using the free version. I have maybe 20 passwords saved in this app. One day I opened the app up and boom, all passwords listed in the vault were magically gone. I emailed their support team and they said "this is the risk you take when you keep using the free version." So this makes me think: Crashes and desync issues don't happen in the paid version? These are only problems with the free version? Why are you making a crappy free version to lure people in then? That's horribly unethical. What a joke this company is to hold your data hostage like that. I'm not sure what app I might move to next, but now I have to reconstruct most of the websites passwords I have, as I relied solely on this app to save it all for me and didn't keep a second list. Trust me when I say that won't happen again..Version: 14.0.2

Free vs. PaidI’ve been using the free version of Keeper for many years and have loved it. I needed to restore settings on my iPhone for a number of reasons which resulted in me being locked out of my keeper account and not being able to (nowadays) change my master password. Although I believe in paying and supporting application developers for their efforts, as the consumer I DID NOT want to have my data backed up on a server in Lord knows where which I why I decided not to pay $47 annually. I would have been happy to pay a different amount to somehow back up my data if needed but the only option keeper provides is pay for full back up or nothing pretty much which as time as gone by I personally believe is unethical given they do not provide other options. If I can’t retrieve my data back now (which I doubt I can) why would I bother paying for a back up now? I can’t even access my account inside Keeper to change my mind. I would avoid this app unless you are happy with paying $47 which is what the developers will “demand”.Version: 14.3.2

Yearly paymentsVery disappointed that I have to pay yearly for this application when it should be a one time payment. Looking for another app as this was not I thought I purchased..Version: 11.1.0

Works, but ….Once you subscribe to Keeper, you do not get full access to the program. You have to subscribe to the extra features. You can not set up emergency access with other contacts so that they can gain access to your accounts and passwords should something happen to you, unless they are a Keeper user as well. The program works fine, but as soon as my subscription expires, I think I’ll just go to BitWarden..Version: 16.8.0

Seems kind of clunky. The auto fill feature doesn’t seem to find the logins I’m looking at in the keeper login list. I have to copy and paste them into the login box. Even searching them in keeper won’t bring them up, yet I can just scroll down the list in keeper and see the required login. So things aren’t smooth nor effective yet. I wish it worked like the rave reviews online..Version: 16.4.0

Lost All PasswordsNot sure if this is ransomware, but using the “free version” of the software and now all records are blank. Upgrade icon appears asking for ~$47 for the full version. Would not have relied on Keeper if I had known I would lose all my records..Version: 16.6.1

Good but really annoying nagsIf you don't subscribe to their online storage system, then EVERY time you open the app, it gives an assortment of notifications including some that border on fraudulent (my subscription has "expired" (never had one at all)). If you can stand annoying nags every time you open, it's great..Version: 8.6.0

Doesn’t work with Edge BrowserFirst of all, 2FA auto fill doesn’t work at all even with Safari. Also, with Edge browser, there is no autofill function appearing on most of the time. When it does appear it keeps asking my master password. I have multiple accounts on one website and Keeper insists on logging on with one single account, it doesn’t let me pick another account. Horrible app, considering how good it is on Windows version, it’s a shame really. I am planning all business accounts to switch to another provider. Useless if I cannot use this on my ipad..Version: 14.11.1

SpammersI’ve unsubscribed two or three times, but I’m still getting marketing emails from these people. Beware..Version: 16.9.4

Use at your own risk. You will be held hostage to pay for a subscription!!Original Review: With their latest revision, if you once had a paid subscription and then go back to a free subscription you are not able to delete a record. I've been in contact with technical support and their response was that I would need to go back to a paid subscription to be able to delete records!!!! Insane. If they fix this bug I'll adjust my rating. Update: following Keeper's suggestion, I contacted their technical support once again and described the problem once again. Unbelievably, here is their reply (Keeper has become a useless app unless I agree to pay for the subscription). STAY AWAY FROM KEEPER PASSWORD MANAGER! Use at your own risk!! "Our system shows that your account is in the free version. Please note that using the free version of Keeper can no longer add, delete and edit information however you can see all saved records that you have created during your free trial and paid subscription years.".Version: 13.0.1

OverpricedDon’t bother. It is only a matter of time before passkeys become more widespread, and this overpriced app will become obsolete. In the meantime (and even if I am wrong about passkeys) there are numerous other password manager apps out there for you to choose from - none of which are as expensive as this one. This app does nothing special, you can get this same functionality across the App Store. This app is nothing but a flashy UI asking you to pay $50 a month for a service that is free elsewhere..Version: 16.8.1

Keeper kinda Blows!I got Keeper many years ago (probably near to when they first launched). It was cool, simple and free and exactly what I wanted. Over the years, it has become more complex and not so “free”. Every time I log on to retrieve one of my few (20ish) passwords, I am bombarded with in app purchase pop-ups asking me to upgrade to some BS service I don’t need (some cloud based back-up subscription) that is way to costly for the 20 or so passwords that I have. If I click “no” the app is timed almost exactly for an additional pop-up to “reappear” milliseconds later, when I attempt to select my chosen password, with the “purchase” button being “conveniently” located under my fingers path. (Good one Keeper makers! 😏) Moreover, many of the simple edit features, including deleting an entry, are unavailable unless you subscribe to their premium back-up service. In any event, there are many other “cool, simple and free” password management apps out there and I’ve had enough of Keeper and their BS “hard sell” in app pop-ups! So I’m done with them and leaving this review. It was nice for awhile Keeper, but you are no longer a “keeper” for me! Delete!!.Version: 14.4.4

Great app - concerns over quality controlUpdate 1 May 2022 Search now mostly works. However it is of great concern that such a highly obvious fault could get through testing. When you are trusting the safety of all your online accounts and bank details to an app, you don’t want any doubts. Used to be great but now: - sites don’t match from safari browser - search for matching site from browser doesn’t work - card entry doesn’t work - matching apps often doesn’t work - create and save a password but it doesn’t save It does store your passwords but that’s about all. It no longer integrates well with safari and the search doesn’t work..Version: 16.5.1

Do not recommendI have used this app for years. After I paid my yearly subscription this time the app on my phone just keeps saying “syncing” and will not let me in to get any passwords. I’ve emailed support 3 times with no response. I will be finding a new app and deleting this one. I sure wish they would refund my money since I haven’t been able to use their app since payment was made..Version: 16.9.5

Have used this app for 4 years with no issue until nowHave been a paying customer for 4 years and have had no issues until now. I keep getting an error message saying “an error has occurred, check for updates in the App Store”. I can’t see any uni updates in the App Store. Can’t believe I just paid $50 to renew to get this. If you’re reading this; I would not recommend you pay for this app, as you might be unable to access your data..Version: 12.0.3

Don’t ever Forget your master password!!!This app was working fantastic until I broke my phone and my password did not carry over to my new phone. I had the app for a few years and it worked perfect. When I had to transfer to my new phone I forgot my master password and needed to reset my system. Apparently no matter what there is no way of resetting or changing this master password. So as a result I lost everything. I also had on auto subscribe and was charged the subscription although I haven’t used the app in months. I contacted password keeper and got the same response “tough S%&@$” we don’t help you if you lost your master password and we can’t refund your subscription although we know you haven’t been able to use our service. They just sent me right back to Apple... I don’t usually write reviews but I think it’s important for people to know these details before downloading so you don’t make the same mistake I did. Go with another app that has better customer service..Version: 14.0.2

Extremely difficult to cancelWhen you cancel make sure you specify “cancel everything and close my account” and ask for a confirmation email, otherwise you could find yourself with a charge on your credit card 6 months later. Also I would suggest to do it over the phone, because if you get someone like “Mary Joy” on the Chat to get a refund and an email confirming that your account is closed, it can get quite a long and painful process..Version: 16.6.1

Cannot cancelThey do not offer a way of cancelling your account. There is no option in the app. If you use the website, you will be in an endless cycle of approving your device and location. If you manage to get it to work (5 approvals for me and it worked) then you cannot get any further as you are forced to use the app. Absolutely atrocious company who I will never deal with again. I stopped using the app and just want to cancel my subscription. I’ve already been charged for a full year twice when I don’t use it..Version: 16.4.0

Ok app, but better ones are availableAn ok app, but not as useful as other password apps I've used, plus it's expensive as you pay an annual fee, and you pay for each device you have it on. I would recommend looking at another app like 1Password instead..Version: 5.3

Locked outI have used this app for a few years but had been feeling that the functionality wasn’t keeping pace with market developments as password managers have gradually been introduced to relevant other products like Norton. I think it was a year ago that Keeper introduced a new layer of security - a complex phrase generated by them from which selected letters would be required in the event of a lock out. I remember thinking at the time that this was a disaster waiting to happen and this week it happened. FaceID broke on my phone which triggers Keeper to require the master password. I can’t remember it and I’ve moved since introduction of the unmemorable phrase and can’t find the paper record. So I’m properly locked out. I thank Keeper for providing this service until now and I appreciate their careful security. But it has become so secure that the owner can’t get in and has let me down. I have cancelled my subscription..Version: 16.9.5

Request time outThat’s the only thing the app is doing for me.Version: 16.8.2

Not workingStuck at syncing status. Not working at all..Version: 16.7.1

Warning! After having this app (the free version) for over a year, I had a ton of passwords protected on this app. Well, I updated my phone to a new IPHONE XS. I had to input all my passwords into my new apps. Since the XS doesn’t use fingerprint software, I had to remember my password to get into the app (which I couldn’t). So, after getting close to the designated # of incorrect tries prior to erasing the data, I changed my forgotten password. After trying my NEW password, it said it was incorrect and gave me 1 more chance. So, I updated my password AGAIN...with the same password. As I entered it so surely the last time, the app told me I exceeded the number of tries required for a successful password and erased my data on the phone. This was ridiculous!!! So, after re-opening the app, I logged in (with the password that I used that initially said was wrong and erased my data) to find ALL my password data erased. Needless to say, this app tries to force you to pay for the service, and you pay for it if you ever have to change your password. Buyer beware..Version: 14.0.0

Good Security but Bullying MarketingI’ve used Keeper for well over five years and have always felt and believed my personal data is secure (period & full-stop). That said I offer the following comments regarding our experience: • In-app advertising has improved from heavy-handed bullying to deceptively sleazy. For example, if an in-app ad popped up offering additional storage capacity for images/pictures, the user was given two possible responses: the first response would send the user to the purchase and the second response would offer the user to decline by selecting “No, leave me unprotected.” By declining, how would I be unprotected (I would not be unprotected, it was a mere convenience which was offered). However my elderly parents would have fallen prey to this and needlessly spent money, a factor which has prevented me from recommending the product. This alone was enough to take away two stars. • To Keeper’s credit, they have improved their personnel’s customer service skills during the past 5+ years. • Keeper has added nice features such as being able to securely share a record with another Keeper user with or without author entitlement. Bottom line: Keeper offers safe and secure storage of your PII with some nice feature additions, however you absolutely need to be aware of their up-sell bullying tactics..Version: 14.9.0

Bad and greedyDownloaded to try it out, got spammed with “give us money or you won’t be protected” - negative start to a new app to try. Would not recommend it as money seems more important to them..Version: 16.9.4

Not impressedConstant up selling even with a paid subscription. Ads constantly popping up. Not very intuitive. Terminology for records and logins , etc are not clear or obvious. Email support is horrible. Takes way to long to get a suitable response. You don’t ever want to be in a rush for an answer. Whoever wrote the automated emails does not have a good command of the English language. Terminology varies between emails. Am now looking at other password managers. Now I know why they don’t offer refunds - every other customer would want one..Version: 16.8.0

Was good. Got worse over time with so-called improvementsI have used Keeper for over a decade. In the guise of improving it they have made it worse. If you use it on a PC you used to be able to minimise it so it went back to the Task Bar. No longer! First, unlike every other PC program they have eliminated the “__” minimise symbol in the top right and put their own minimise symbol further down. Second, they have set it so instead of going to the Task Bar where it’s invisible it just minimises to a small pop up. You can only get rid of it by logging out of the App! Third, at various times I find myself with a PC screen where there is no way to do anything to close or minimise it other than to use the End Task program. Frustrating beyond belief..Version: 16.0.1

Good app but…The app was good and integrated with all systems and platforms. But whatever you do, don’t lapse your subscription. You will be battered by mails day after day after day after day telling you you have lapsed your subscription. Which in my case, I intended to. It is relentless and unsubscribing may resolve. But I should not have to. I should not be pestered receiving 3 mails every half day or so for days repeating the message that my payment has failed. I chose to unsubscribe. Update. In spite of unsubscribing to email notifications, I am still receiving 3 emails each iteration of reminders..Version: 16.9.4

I like it a lot but it can be annoyingThe reason I say it can be annoying, is because I have been using this app since 2014 at least, so understandably I have a few passwords for accounts that I no long use that I would like to delete. But I can’t actually delete them without upgrading to the paid version, which I find really quite annoying. I also can’t change the names of folders unless I pay for the full version. It wasn’t always like this though which is what’s sad, I remember before you could add and delete and edit as much as you liked but now it’s not like that. I would love to be able to organise my passwords a bit more and condense everything down to the accounts I actually still use but I’m not able to unless I pay..Version: 14.11.0

KeeperConned into paying for the app. Still unable to organize my files. I have sent a few requests for assistance and have received no support..Version: 16.8.4

How to update credit card infoWhat is the point of having a chat line if you cannot ask a question. I’ve sent a request to support to open a ticket. AllI want to know is how to update my credit card info so you can continue to charge me without any problems. It is impossible to do with your current system..Version: 16.8.4

Pay- or you will lose your passwords!!DO NOT START USING THIS APP UNLESS YOU PLAN TO PAY FOR IT. (Insert 1-2 passwords to see how it works and if you like it- but do not use the free version thinking you can get by.) I have been using the trial version of Keeper for four years. It WAS a great app. It was always my understanding that like MANY other apps on the market- there is a free version and a Pay version. I THOUGHT the free version allowed a secure method to store my passwords on my phone - and the pay version would ensure a backup of those passwords in the event I lost my phone. NOT TRUE. I accepted the app update today- resulting in all of my passwords being held ransom for $30. If I didn’t pay- I didn’t get them. I opted out - thinking surely I misunderstood - nope. And...that was my one and only opportunity. The offer is no longer on the table. 116 passwords- gone. The short- this is a good app- IF YOU PAY. I would gladly pay a ONE TIME fee of $30 to get my passwords back and to continue using the app- but I can’t even do that now..Version: 14.3.3

Spam centralDid not find useful. Removed app from phone and unsuccessfully tried several times to unsubscribe from their mailing list. Blocked sender and marked as spam but somehow still managed to receive unwanted regular email updates from the company, into my inbox.Version: 15.5.0

Bad FeelingThis app seems to work harder on marketing then security factors. Reminds me of Norton. Pushing to upgrade constantly. I have a feeling whatever investment group that owns this will keep pushing the upswells and let security lax, like LastPass did..Version: 16.9.0

Deceptive billingIf you choose to auto renew, they take your money a month before renewal is due without any forewarning.Version: 14.8.2

Terrible so far. Don’t trust itThis app has quite an unfriendly user interface. For every password I’ve created I’ve backed it up in a notes app which is protected with Face ID. Good job too as most times I use keeper to retrieve a password it’s completely changed the password so I can’t access what I need. Then I go to my back up notes app where I copied the password keeper originally created and paste that in.. and it works. The passwords couldn’t be more different. This is totally useless at saving the passwords it creates..Version: 16.0.1

Don't buy this AppYou will ultimately lose all your data if yo purchase this app the customer support is non existent, I have lost everything because of their inadequate security system..Version: 16.6.6

Why I Don't Like KeeperHere are my issues with Keeper: - With the app specifically, Keeper Fill doesn't seem to update while the main Keeper app does. I have to go out of my way to get into the main app to copy and paste my info for entries I made over a week ago. - Keeper constantly tries to upsell you (pop ups in the app and pc, emails, etc) and it's very annoying. - Several months ago, Keeper sent me an email notifying me that my annual subscription was going to renew in a week. It was late in the day so I made a mental note to cancel it, but one day after I got the email, they renewed it. That's just scummy. Apart from feeling like I'm constantly getting harassed by a greedy company, it works fine, barring the issue with the "fill" function not being up to date even when the main app is. My suggestion for the company is to consider finding better ways to maintain your customer retention that doesn't involve being misleading, or aggravating customers with constant upsell attempts, including trying to arbitrarily scare your customers into thinking said upsells are necessary with breach events that don't affect them. TLDR: I've been unhappy with them for a long time; literally the only reason I'm still using Keeper right now is because they were misleading when it came time for their mandatory subscription renewal notification to be sent..Version: 16.4.0

Even Paid Version is Endless NagwareI’ve been using Keeper for 6 years now. I paid $10 for the first year… and it’s been $30 since then for backup of my passwords. I like the way it creates, stores and retrieves passwords… even integrating into the iOS framework to auto-populate password fields most of the time when needed. BUT… despite paying $30 per year for service… you can count on it popping up ads to push more service sales on you on a regular basis (seems like once a day at least). If I say NO to an offer… it should accept it as a NO instead of covering the app and shoving the ad in my face over and over again. I’m already paying for the app. I expect ads in free, ad-supported apps. But this is a major nuisance that has only gotten worse over time. It’s to the point that despite my years of investment in the app… I’m seriously considering finding a better option..Version: 14.6.1

Initially good now frustratingI’ve been using this for quite a few years. Recently the price has increased and they have a nasty trick of charging you extra for things you don’t need. As I have declined to pay for them I now get a pop up warning each time I log on which then continues to pop up whilst I’m in the app. Annoying. I don’t know why they see the need to do this. It’s not cheap and I’m already paying a subscription for it. It also no longer syncs with my desktop. Will be finding an alternative..Version: 14.9.1

App has been broken for monthsApp constantly crashes upon open.Version: 16.8.0

Access issuesI recently had issues logging in from my iPhone. Suddenly biometrics was unavailable, (only for Keeper app) so changed password (3 times) and each time when logging back in I received a warning that the new password was not recognised. I now only have one attempt to log in before all my saved data is lost. I was pulling my hair out trying to get assistance from customer support, however I eventually got through to the chat support and was assisted by Mark Aballar who was outstanding and has completely turned around my opinion of the Keeper customer support set up. He was extremely helpful and worked through a rescue plan to get me back into my account. Do all good now thanks to Mark. Customer support is extremely important and he certainly saved me a lot of problems with lost data. Long story short...do all password resets on a PC, check all data is correct, then delete app on your phone / mobile device, then reinstall and log on as usual with your master password. Life is good...🤗.Version: 14.0.2

Can’t delete itemsCan’t delete passwords or folders, every time I try it requires a subscription.Version: 16.7.2

Sneaky, but okay for backup appI have been trying this out as an alternative to 1PW. It’s fast in execution BUT it has several annoying features. I keep getting notices that the app needs refreshing, to log out then log back in. Also, the face recognition works some of the time, not others. When I ask for help they send article references, just what I want to spend the day reading AFTER paying for the the upgrade service, I think! I’m having a hard time trusting the whole entity and wouldn’t be surprised to see additional billing AFTER some time in the future. They are sneaky. Their website does everything possible to avoid customer contact - infuriating, especially when you’re moving from one device to another and you need resolution NOW. Lastly, their ongoing solicitations in the app to upgrade is too much, especially after having been tricked into spending an additional $10 early on, in a cryptic manner to get more storage, implying to make the app function properly???.Version: 15.5.0

Not greatI had a lot of trouble with this app and customer support. I purchased the family subscription but didn’t get it then I couldn’t import my passwords from my old manager app so had to face putting them in manually. (no thanks). Customer support were no help and kept just sending me the same instructions. Clearly you don’t get a refund from these people either when your not happy with their product. Take a risk if you like..Version: 16.6.6

Keeper appDo not try the free version of this app - there is a very good chance that you will eventually slip and sign into the ungraded trial version ….’ Relentless requests to upgrade ‘ And like myself lose all of your stored information.Version: 16.6.6

Good but all those sales messages are annoyingI've been using this for a number of years across multiple devices & it's a tool I wouldn't be without. But the regular reminders I am running out of space for photos etc & need to upgrade are really annoying since I don't use Keeper to store photos! It's just a marketing gimmick & that loses you a star..Version: 10.7.1

Keeper is completely down, passwords inaccessibleJust found out that if keeper goes down I can’t access any of my passwords on my computer, only way is to access them is on my phone. Would be screwed if I relied solely on the computer password manager..Version: 16.8.0

Got stuck during the setting up the appDownloaded the App. Tried to set it up. Entered the complex unique password which I use in my most sensitive cases (it was 9 characters long with upper and lower case letters, numbers and special characters) — the app said I can’t proceed, the password must be minimum 10 characters long. Great! I change it to 10 characters long — now it shows that it must be at least 12 characters long…. Well, the hole reason I need the app like this to keep the record of my passwords on the sites and apps like this. I don’t need THIS app to force me to use unreasonable limitations like that, which also are inconsistent. I don’t want to get another app to remember password for this one, because I know every time I am forced to come up with the passwords that I forget next day. I want to use my passwords that I can remember. I hope developers are reading this user feedback and note that this enforcement is irrational. Would be very happy to change or delete my review when this issue is addressed. Very dissatisfied with practice like this..Version: 16.8.0

Used to be freeI’ve been using (and loving) this app for around 10 years now until recently when it’s locked me out and asking me to pay $47 a year to access my hundreds of stored passwords! I can’t access it at all to retrieve and make copies of all my data. To go from free to nearly $50 a year is ludicrous and I’m extremely frustrated that ALL my data is lost forever. Andy, I did email you weeks ago and zero response. It appears you post the suggestion to email you to look like you at doing something but don’t actually do a thing. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this app and in fact, would warn people off it..Version: 14.0.2

Clunky user interfaceA very counter-intuitive user interface for editing records. When I try to delete or edit records it fails to do so and just get a busy icon but records remain exactly as they were on both iPhone and iPad versions. After multiple attempts to edit and delete records I’ve finally had enough, it shouldn’t be difficult.Version: 16.9.0

Really, really frustrating poorly designed appOMG, where do I start? …. This has to be one of the worst password apps out there. Think throwing a dart at a dartboard as to whether it’ll work or not !! Are you a professional dart player? No me neither …. Save your money if you’re an iPhone user and use the built in Apple password manager, IT WORKS 99% of the time. Wish I’d never subscribed for a minimum of a year! I’ve tried this app to auto complete stored passwords, auto generate passwords, then store, then auto complete…… it’ll be quicker doing it manually, and write down password on a piece of paper from my 7 months experience. Don’t get me wrong, it works sometimes…. Just sometimes sadly…. It’s a convoluted mess in the whole, believe me I’ve given it a MASSIVE amount of time. In today’s world we want ‘it just works’ …. For this app, I vote with my wallet, and ‘ I’m out’ to quote Dragons Den. Hope my experience helps others decide whether to click sub or not. ✌️.Version: 15.4.3

Needs to listen to customers and cut out the unethical design patternsFirst, Keeper has some “interesting” marketing schemes. For example, if you want to unsubscribe from their spam email, you have to unsubscribe which takes you to a site where you have to then enter your email. Then they send you another email with directions to take you to another site to change your preferences. The fun part about that is that they take their time sending this email so that you forget to unsubscribe. Once you do get to the site to unsubscribe, of course all the options are unchecked when you get there so you have to opt out of each. This should probably be illegal. Second, it’s clear what they care about most. On the home screen there’s a yellow box that is always animated and popping up at you. This is their “refer a friend feature.” A good user experience would not have this because that’s not why I have this app. The most important space on the page (the upper left hand corner) should not be dedicated to having me annoy my friends and family. I already paid for the service, I don’t want this annoying me the whole time. Take it away and put it in a menu. It’s already annoyingly in the side menu and in the “+” button area (which is insane). Third, for some reason “identity and payments” are in another section of the app which doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. I’ll delete this review if these things get fixed..Version: 16.8.0

Garbage, no refund, not workingAbsolute garbage, after trying to log in, password correct my side, paying for another app to try to bypass it’s insistence on using the app not allowing web login as their help keep advising me to login via a browser, which you can’t. Not on a phone. I persevered, eventually asking for a full refund. No chance. I don’t think I’d use this app even if they said free for life now. £30+ wasted, along with hours going around in circles. Only one star as I can’t go lower. I hope this helps someone not waste their money on this garbage.Version: 16.6.0

Dirty tricks !I have had Keeper for a couple of years worked ok for me but when it came to a New Years subscription I had a warning that it was due to expire but they wanted £30+ , I wasn’t sure if I wished to continue at that price so I downloaded my records just in case I was locked out . When my subscription ran out today I was locked out but I could re-subscribe for £23 ! Now if I had been offered it at that price to start with I would have paid but not now ! Also I’m not sure about my data on their system I would have liked the option to delete it but I need to log in to do that !.Version: 14.5.0

Attention ! ☠️Ils confisquent tes mots de passe et te force à payer pour les récupérer. Ne pas faire confiance à KEEPER..Version: 15.0.4

Update is awful!!!! Keeper not recommendedI have been using Keeper for several years. I just received an update and, as a consequence lost all my data — at least on my iPhone. I had been accessing the app using Face ID but with the update it asked for my master password, which I did not remember. As a consequence I successfully reset my password but the app wouldn’t let me log in with it. I successfully reset it several times but the app never would recognize the new password —notwithstanding the fact that I successfully reset my password. Then after resetting it once again successfully, the app then informed me that all my data was deleted because I had tried unsuccessfully to log in too many times! I hope that I will be able to recover my data from another device such as my laptop but rest assured that as soon as I do I will be looking for anther password protection app. I cannot in good conscience recommend Keeper any longer because of what appears to be a major malfunction in its current upgrade..Version: 14.1.0

Keeper try to “up sell” every time I sign in!Keeper constantly presents pop-ups (presented like emergency warnings) trying to trick you into an upsell for more services you almost certainly don’t require. You may click “no thanks” but they’ll try sell you again next time you sign in. “Warning, you are not protected” causes concern but when you read small print you realise you don’t need this extra at all! I accidentally clicked to accept and was charged. I contacted keeper to explain it was an accidental purchase that I wanted to cancel immediately and request a refund, I heard nothing back and not received a refund. That said, Keeper does a good job of storing passwords for about £20 per year. This app would get a 5 star review if they just stopped the repeated harassment to “upgrade” every time you sign in! (Or even put an option in setting to stop this) and also if they had responded to me to resolve my accidental purchase of the unnecessary add-on!.Version: 14.10.2

Total rip off!! These guys are thieves!!I used this Keeper app for a few years for free, then decided to upgrade from free version bc I loved it so much. Then the next year they charged me $10 without my permission (if there was small print about recurring charges I don’t know how I missed it) so o was pretty upset. It’s seems like back then I tried contacting them and I was told they would not do that again. The very next year they did it again. Another $10. Once I got them to stop they still let me see my passwords without paying, I just couldn’t add any more. I used like that for a couple more years, then recently they completely blocked me from seeing ANY PASSWORDS I had put in there for years, UNLESS I pay again!! No way Jose!! Keep your app! I wouldn’t pay these guys another penny over the mere principle! I’ll just start over and go thru hell with resetting every password I put in there before I give them another dime!! Go somewhere else and buy a password app! Trust me, these developers are up to no good where your money’s concerned.Version: 12.0.3

Constant Spam emailsI didn’t opt in for your insane number of emails. So you’re reported as spam and phishing to google, and now blocker. Funny thing is, I don’t use your stupid app..Version: 16.9.5

Nagging nag nag fk nagIt works ok but as a free user it nags constantly to upgrade. Yes yes we know we are “unprotected” but really, some users just want to use it for free, under 50 passwords, the free option. So please turn the constant nag off. Does it really need a pop up every time it’s opened and a warning banner and a +1 on the account button at the bottom of the screen? Think realistic. If a user reads your warning message about being unprotected once and ticks the “I understand the risks” box shouldn’t that be enough. Want to use the free version? Expect to be nagged. Constantly..Version: 13.0.2

Wont syncSuddenly decided to stop syncing, saying its not connected to the internet. Cant view my passwords or accounts, it worked so well before…. What happened? Very disapointed.Version: 16.9.3

Increased feesToo expensive especially since it was free when I first signed up..Version: 11.0.0

Major identity theft with this appDelete delete. I’ve had this subscription for years and so have family members. I have never ever once logged in anywhere except from my phone and it has never been physically compromised from my phone. I do not have my password for this app written anywhere. Nowhere. Hackers got into my Keeper app on a Saturday morning. That’s when I realized that Keeper has no weekend support. International hackers had 22 pages of my data for over 48 hours before I could speak to anyone. Emails were useless as well. Hackers had control of my email and any attempt at getting back into the app was rooted to them. I was totally helpless. It has been 3 days 8-10 hours a day of a complete and total identity theft nightmare that has involved hacker demands for money to stop the madness. They can all eat you know what, including Keeper. The first rep I spoke with was condescending and terribly rude before a nice guy helped but he felt terrible for my loss. Well it’s been pure hell. Feeling terrible for me does absolutely nothing. Everyone I know who has this has deleted their subscription as well. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst worst enemy. Except the damned hackers. Please please don’t be me. Find another way to store your passwords. This is NOT it. You don’t want this disaster in your life..Version: 14.7.0

Great App., but a little too pricey!!!I am enjoying peace mind. This app really provides a good secure service , if you are like me, and the majority of your purchasing and socializing require security. I think it’s overpriced for what they offer as standard, a way OP, if you add the data features listed below. Otherwise, this app has done a great job helping me to securely store password and website info. using a multi-level password encrypted platform. This part of the service is very good; just overpriced. I would have given this app. 5-stars, however, I am a little disappointed that you have to pay additional fees in order to access the data (documents, video, photo) feature of the app. I feel these features should be standard otherwise all you are paying for is password security. It’s still a great app. but they are just a little too money hungry. As soon as it’s time to renew my membership I will be looking for an app that will promise this type of security but will include “DATA (media-video & photo, docs, file, & folder) ENCRYPTION” as standard features. Now, that type of security would be worth the value..Version: 11.1.0

Decent Password Manager Yet Charges Extra for Basic FunctionalityI’ve been using Keeper Password Manager (KPM) since February 2021. I like that they don’t share or sell your personal info to any third parties. KPM is easy to use on my phone and computer. I have only had one incident where I created and saved a password in the app, yet that same password didn’t log me into the site I created it for and said it’s an incorrect password (I changed the password on the site to correct this). I’m knocking 2 stars off for a big reason: BreachWatch Dark Web Monitoring costs an extra $20 year for KPM, yet this same function is free when using many of the competitors (and they charge the same amount ($36) as basic KPM). With data breaches occurring weekly anymore, this basic function should be included without users being charged extra for it. Otherwise, it’s a decent password manager..Version: 15.4.0

No Master Password RecoveryThey should probably tell people that password recovery for your account is unavailable on the free version… deletes all your information if you get the password wrong 5 times and no way to reset the password/account..Version: 16.8.4

DO NOT BUY THIS APPIt will break or stop syncing, lose all your passwords, their customer support is terrible and won’t help at all. I regret going with Keeper and I wish I’d stayed with my previous password manager. At least they never lost my passwords!!.Version: 16.7.0

Unreasonably GreedyI have used the free version of this app for about 4 years. There are many pop-ups and other annoying ways they attempt to persuade you to pay the rather large yearly subscription fee. I looked past these annoyances over these years until I recently needed to delete a few records and discovered this is a paid “feature”!? UNBELIEVABLE! I contacted Support who did me the “one time courtesy” of allowing me to delete records for 2 days, but I was told this “courtesy” would not be available in the future and I would need to purchase a full year subscription if I should need to delete any further records. I will be looking for a different app that does not attempt to annoy their customers into submission and charge for the basic functionality of removing records. Could be a great app, but it seems the developers have become too greedy, unfortunately..Version: 16.0.3

Great app until it doesn’t workI rely on this app a lot, maybe too much. I use it to store ALL my passwords and I like the fact that I can organize into folders. I’ve got folders for banking, travel, shopping, medical, and more. My only concern was the fact that recently the app wasn’t working, it wouldn’t open so I couldn’t retrieve any of my user ids or passwords. I tried all sorts of resets with the phone and the app but nothing worked. I couldn’t reach anyone that actually helped for about 3 or 4 days. They had to reset my account on their end and they provided no explanation as to what happened. I was very concerned that I was going to lose everything and start all over resetting passwords everywhere; it was a nightmare. When I finally did get someone to reset my account they were non-apologetic and very nonchalant, I did not feel comfortable that my information was safe and secure or that this wouldn’t happen again. Again, they did not provide an explanation for why this may have happened and this is a service (app) that I pay for annually. And, I e been a customer for a few years. Anyway, I am sticking with them for now, but, I’ll be looking for something else..Version: 11.2

Unusually for Large VaultsI work for an MSP, and while the desktop app is pretty good, the iOS app is terrible. Our company has 1000s of credentials and records in our vault, but this means the app never syncs! The app opens and starts to sync, then my iPhone gets very warm, and the app crashes to the Home Screen. The way the app syncs needs a significant overhaul for users with large vaults as it’s unusable in its current state. I’ll stick to using the online vault in a web browser as its the only way to access company credentials on the go..Version: 16.0.4

Pourquoi??Pourquoi le prix est de 46.99$ et il marque qu’il est à 50% ???.Version: 16.6.1

Requires you to paySo a few years in I have to pay or the account is “disabled” so you get locked out from your own passwords. If I had known I would not have downloaded..Version: 12.0.1

Sneaky (and unlawful) auto-renewalsThere is nothing to indicate that the annual subscription is an automatic renewal subscription. This is deliberately hidden in the T&Cs. From what I have read, this breaches most laws in the US. For example in California: "The law requires the clear and conspicuous display of service terms before purchase agreements are fulfilled; affirmative consent from consumers before any credit card charges are made; acknowledgment that includes the automatic renewal or continuous service offer terms, cancellation policy, and information regarding how to cancel in a manner that is capable of being retained by the consumer; that businesses making automatic withdrawals provide a toll-free phone number for consumers; and more.".Version: 14.3.3

Premium or nothingI’ve been using the free version of Keeper since 2015 and it’s been a great application for sorting and accessing my credentials. The UI is clean and it’s easy to navigate. However, in the last 12 months or so I’ve been bombarded with ads to switch to Premium and I can no longer sort my entries into folders, etc. It has become a mess that is hard to sort and between the bombardment of ads and the inability to sort my passwords into categories, I will likely move to a different application to secure my passwords. Unless you’re willing to pay for Premium, prepare to be annoyed with pop ups every time you open the app..Version: 15.0.4

CostToo expensive.Version: 15.0.3

Buyer Beware - May stop working without noticeThis app presents a great way to manage your passwords, but with one notable exception. Your expiration date may be reset by keeper to a day in the past at any time and without any notice. Last week, my account had an expiration date in 2022. This morning, I woke up to find out that my expiration date has been moved to 2019. I contacted their technical support department, which was able to resolve the issue within 15 minutes, but was not able to explain why my expiration date suddenly moved to a time in the past. Fortunately I had a good Internet connection and was able to delete and reinstall the app on my phone, but if the Internet had not been readily available, I would’ve had no access to any of my accounts without having to reset each and every password. It’s also important to note that the app appears to have a major bug, in that it will not retain any new records that are created on a mobile device. You must use the web vault in order to create new records. If you are in an app, use keeper to create a new record, and save that record, it doesn’t actually save and you can’t even use it in the app in which you just created the record..Version: 15.3.0

Liars and ThievesI have been a customer for 4 years but when it came time to renew the sales person lied to me and told me I needed to buy a storage plan for $500 but come to find out I only used 1% of the normal plan. Then I spent another $1000 on top of that for what I thought was a 2 year plan. Come to find out the sales person only put me down for 1 year. This company has high pressure sales people that lie and only care about the sale. They lured me in and waited till I heavily relied on the service and then over charged big time leaving me at their mercy. I am a small business with only 9 employees and yet they ripped me off. This is not free or even low cost. My cost was $1500 for 1 year. Don’t let them get you! This kind of software is all about trust but after they know you can’t operate without them, they then take advantage of you. I should have known that when a company has such turn over and you find out that no employees there last more than a month that something is wrong. So if you are thinking about using this service be prepared to send $1500 per year or else lose all your info. Run! Do not buy. Also, there is nothing special about this service..Version: 14.10.0

Held my passwords hostage for $40After using this app for years, and on a number of devices for free, I’ve restored my phone to factory settings, logged in and cannot access the passwords without paying $40 to get a back up. Not cool.Version: 14.9.0
