✓ Excellent appThe only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because of an edit (or piece of trickery) regarding the recording of phone calls. Notwithstanding what the app says, it IS possible - or it was. it worked for me when I first installed the app by having the call on speakerphone. I specifically tested for this, because occasionally I need it. Subsequently, it mysteriously disappeared and the app started saying it was "not possible". Is this dishonesty or fiat by apple? ✓ Easy and effective!I'm a writer, and had driven out of state to interview people for an article I was working on. An hour before my first interview, someone advised me that my iPad was actually capable of recording the interview rather than my writing notes the entire time. Thankfully, I found this wonderful app. It was so easy to learn a first grader could handle it with no problems. I was able to record these very important interviews for my work, and it went smoothly without any problems. Don't know if I really needed to keep touching the screen periodically to prevent the iPad from going to "sleep," but these recordings were far too important to find out after the fact, so I did tap the screen several times to keep the iPad alive. ✓ Among the best of iOS audio recording appsThis is an app that gives more than expected. I especially like the adjustable input gain and the ability to append to a recording at any time. The app has frozen a couple times when exiting and returning to the app while recording. It is also now crashing when I click on Progresses in the Info section. This is probably due to failed uploads (wrong FTP server info). I don't know how to clear the failed uploads since it crashes before showing any uploads in progress. Here's something very cool. With AudioMemos, I can simultaneously record my voice and a simple keyboard part (using Virtuouso Piano app). Handy way to capture a song idea..Version: 3.1.6

✓ Works well, could be more intuitive, but customer service is greatI've been using this app to record interviews for my PhD dissertation for a while. It takes a little while to get used to some of its quirks, but it does the job quite well. Sound quality is great, even after using the file compression feature (which is really useful when you're on the road and don't have a fast connection for backing up your recordings). At one point the app did give me a major scare, after one of my recordings suddenly disappeared and I couldn't figure why or out how to recover it. But I contacted customer service, and they helped me to recover it. All in all, I'm sticking with it and would definitely recommend it!.Version: 4.7.3

I record the meeting and it automatically sends a copy in 30 min increments to my Dropbox (can make these changes in Settings) so I can listen to later and use for transcriptions. ✓ Audio memos - The Recorder (v 2.23)I had version 2 in Oct 2009 and version 2.51 of the FREE one that works fine as before. This paid version worked fine but had some glitches and bugs upon transfer from iphone to PC in versions 2.20, 2.22. The characters now seem to be correctly handled and the display and transfer is much better now in version 2.23..Version: 0

✓ An important tool at board meetingsAs Secretary for a nonprofit arts organization, one of my duties is to take board meeting minutes. I've used AudioMemos for that purpose since the application was first released. The longer I use it, the better it becomes. The developers do a good job listening to customer concerns and helping solve issues. They also have fixed many of the bugs that plagued the app in the beginning. If I was to ask for one feature, it would be to have the ability to view pdf documents in iBook while a recording is in progress. As it stands now, when a document is opened, the recording is interrupted. However, this could be the result of my first gen iPad, rather the the AudioMemos app. Keep up the good work! ✓ Amazing!!!!!!!!It's amazing and even works well with voiceover. The only thing I notice is when reseting other settings, it doesn't reset everything. I also saw a minor error in a message I'd received that said that iPod touch has no internal microphone. I know iPod 4 and 5 do. there are very minor bugs, so they don't really need fixing right away. You guys did well here! :-).Version: 4.3.0
✓ FantasticI have been tolerating other recorder for a semester and finally sucked it up and paid for this one... I'm very glad I did! I have had it about a week now and already I'm very pleased with the functionality of it. It not only pauses but if you accidentally stop it you can open the note and add on to it! You can merge separate files, you can add bookmarks as you record , add multiple tags for easy search/sorting later, you can edit the files on your phone in the app, you can change the title while you are recording and you can even convert it from wav to AAC in the app by either creating a copy in a different format or replacing the old one! Yes 10$ is a little pricy but I have been very pleased! If you are looking for functionality then it's totally worth it!! Thank you!!.Version: 3.1.4

✓ The "Best Lil App in town."I've had the benefit of being able to peruse at lot of applications for my iPad online. And to be honest a good percentage of them are well thought out and very useful. But this application bar none has exceeded my expectations when it comes to vocal transcription of meetings, conversations or just its use as a vocal stenographer. ✓ Great app but for one missing featureI love the features on this app. AND... I really want a recording app that records in mp3. But I also need to be able to set how the name of a file is initially created (for me I like the date in YYYYMMDD_ format, then I append to that the first initial and last name of the client I'm having a session with, i.e. YYYYMMDD_FLast). I also need to be able to upload the files to a remote server via (actual) FTP, or to my PC via WiFi or iTunes FTP. AudioMemo Pro does this for me. But it doesn't do it in mp3, and so I have to then run the files through a program that turns them into mp3s. I've learned from experience that not all my clients (I have hundreds) can play the WAV format files, but that they can play mp3 format. I wish it did this too! But otherwise this is the best audio recorder app out there. Very feature rich..Version: 3.1.2

✓ Very GoodNot perfect, but I'm pleased. I've used 3 or 4 other apps of the same type, and this one is the best of them. It's the only one which can be set to activate recording when it hears a sound, and pause during silence, to eliminate long periods of silence. There may be others that do this now, but a month ago it was the only one, and that's the one feature I had to have, so I bought it. ✓ Mostly good app -- but bewareI bought this app just for recording meetings so I could analyze and transcribe them. And for that purpose, it works well. But beware: several times now while moving back and forth through a recording, my left pinky has inadvertently contacted the trash can icon, and unrecoverably deleted the memo I was working on! I can't believe that in this day and age there is no protection against this! No confirmation before deletion, no undo function, and no trashcan from which to recover an accidentally deleted file. Just one easy, inadvertent move, and ::poof!:: -- you're hosed! Now, I send a backup copy of every memo to my Mac before I start working on it. ✓ Plays in the background so you can type notes while listening!Apple's native voice memos can't be played in the background- so it's impossible to type up recorded meeting minutes on your phone while listening to the recording. Now I can type up notes from recorded meetings even on a crowded train! The app also allows playback at different speeds - slow it down while typing relevant sections, speed it up through the less relevant parts of the meeting. The only thing I'd like to change is that the nudge-back feature isn't accurate in slow motion - it goes forward a bit first so you need to click it several times to go back a few seconds. ✓ Excellent - my favorite voice memo appI have been using this app for quite some time, and it works great. Currently using the latest version on my Iphone 6 Plus, with the most recent operating system update installed. I keep this on my home screen, although I sometimes just use Siri to call it up. One thing I really like is that you can quickly open the app, record a memo, and it will automatically name and save it (using current date and time) with hardly any typing. If you want to catch and record quick ideas without fumbling around, this works beautifully.
