I love the ability to keep my notes directly in the app, quickly jump to relevant references and sync the Bible reading with commentary books. I also have used the daily reading feature to walk me through reading the Bible end to end and it makes it so easy to keep track of your progress. The library is extensive as well, and I’ve found myself purchasing a lot more great books than I thought I would when I first started. ✓ Remove highlight delete confirmationGreat and easy app to use. However, as I highlight almost every second or third verse, it gets very tiresome when you want to delete a highlight that you are asked to confirm this. It is not like I am removing a critical thing - if I accidentally remove a highlight, it is simple to re-highlight the verse. But having to press ‘yes’ to confirm a highlight delete 5-8 times every time I use the app is just poor user interface design. Please remove :) Also, when you released update to change from 32-bit to 64-bit format, it wiped all my highlights from over two years of reading - the entire Bible was reset. I switched apps for some six months because that was such a frustrating experience - and there was no warning it would happen. Please make sure no future updates have this adverse impact.Version: 7.5.6
✓ Highlight is difficult to useI have been using this app for several years and for the most part enjoy it. However, the highlight option is difficult to use. I like to mark verses that stand out to me in the same way I would underline in my Bible. When I try to select multiple lines, it grabs columns instead. I have to reverse select, which occasionally works, but not always. And the removal of highlights is even more cumbersome. This tool needs some attention and could be more useful than it currently is. Overall, I am pleased to have the Bible accessible to me at all times, and appreciate the opportunity to have this app..Version: 7.7.3

I love that I can find the Bible version AND ALL of the Bible commentaries I use in this one app. Besides the fact that I can carry all the books with me (Bible & commentaries would fill a large backpack), my favorite feature is that I can read scripture and have the commentary together on the same page with split-screen. I also love the free Bible study plans & devotionals available right within the app. I can setup an alert to remind me its time to pray where my plan left off. ✓ Pretty Good, Missing Some Important FeaturesThe software is pretty good, but it is missing some important features. 1st, there is no way to attach anything in notes, such as of sermon/class handouts, slideshow pictures, or pictures taken with a camera. I have to use Apple's OCR Scan Text for pictures and paste the words into the notes for each sermon/class, but that still means any photos/pictures aren't included and instead I have to make a comment to view photos taken on that day to view pictures I took of handouts or slideshow. 2nd, it would be helpful if default templates could be made so new notes would start with a certain set of words and paragraphs since sermons/classes follow a pretty set format. What I have done as a workaround is I just created some notes which I copy and then paste into a new note I create for each sermon/class, but it is annoying. Other than the issue with notes listed above everything is good. I'd give the software 5/5 stars if it wasn't for the inconvenience of not being able to have attachments as that is the biggest issue..Version: 7.12.4

The info is still in the Bible but when I go to notes and pull-up doctrine it shows the sub categories but they show as empty, except for the last category created. It has all the info put in it. ✓ My Go-To Bible App for YearsI am a Women’s Bible Teacher and use this app constantly! I’ve had it for 10+ years and have purchased several different versions within the app. Navigation is quick and intuitive. I love it for highlighting- I created a color system for myself and love that I can remove or change colors, unlike a hard copy of the Bible where you can’t fix your mistakes. Switching between versions is so easy for comparison. It makes copying verses or sections of text to paste elsewhere so simple. (I use Noteworthy for taking sermon notes at church and often copy verses right into my notes from Olive Tree!) The Reading plans are good- I completed my first ever cover to cover read through the Bible using Olive Tree over 10 years ago! It helped me form a habit that has become a rich delight in my life ever since. ✓ At last!I've been waiting for the New International Version to come out ever since the iPhone 2.0 firmware. Most of the early iPhone Bibles were based on out of copyright or otherwise public domain translations. The NIV has, for a long time, been the leading translation as far as sales are concerned. Academics may argue a preference for the NRSV, and traditionalists are sure to point out the many virtues of the King James, but, for the general reader, the NIV is the one I would recommend. This app is good, but not brilliant. For example, there's no way to have the words of Jesus come up in black (the app insists on making them red, which is not something most of the printed editions of the NIV do), and the footnotes and verse numbers can be put in white, but not turned off. Also, the subtitles, which are not part of the text, are in a larger, bold font, instead of the lighter, italic font in the print editions. On the other hand, the search engine is very powerful. Easily worth the rather steep price, in my opinion. As far as refinements are concerned, I would love to have this app in the beautiful, original Palatino typeface of the first few NIV editions..Version: 0

✓ Actually should have given five starsThe highlights of this app: I have loaded the NIV Bible as well as the New Living Translation. One can purchase other versions as well to create a whole library of translations. I enjoy flipping between these versions to get clarification. Pour my hard copy Bibles, I have a study Bible in one version, and a reading Bible in another, so this parallels, my physical Bible library. I don’t use the Notes feature too much, but I think it could be a little improved so that I could see a library of all my notes in one place. Text search feature is nice, but could possibly stand some improvement. I always have a problem with. Understanding search functions is always a challenge for me A final note of improvement, I never understand all of the little footnote letters that appear in Bible versions. I wish that these were better explained, because I know it is all about cross-referencing scripture, but I have never understood how to use that tool.
