Sonos S1 Controller for Positive User Reviews

Top quality sound systemI have been wanting a Sonos sound system for quite some time but was a bit unsure on sending the money, then my local shop had a sale so I decided to purchase a play1 and sound bar and I’m so glad I did it is the best quality sound I have ever heard the seem less connection is amazing and I would highly recommend from r sure.Version: 8.2.2

Great ProductsGreat products, excellent sound, easy to set up and use. Have playbar, sub, play 5 and play3's. Amazing how you can have different music/tv/ streaming at the same in different rooms. The app on Mac, iPad and iPhone all work great and very easy. Support second to none. Sonos even lobbied a radio station and got it added to tunein for me that was in an unsuitable format for Sonos. Highly recommend.Version: 8.2.2

Great speaker when it connectsI love my sonos speaker when it works. The app is awful. It frequently drops out, it’s slow, and won’t connect. Yes I’ve tested my wifi and other things work fine (I invested heavily in a great mesh system) - it’s just this app. I also feel it’s appalling that you can have a really great product that a company just won’t commit to keeping updated when it launches something new. It’s a shame as I now wouldn’t buy another Sonos product because I feel in a couple of years the company will make that obsolete also. As a result of this app and it’s frequent issues I’ve ended up with a really expensive speaker that acts as an alarm that I can’t guarantee I can change the settings on..Version: 11.2.6

Update - I’m starting to get mad! New update still needs a bug fixUpdate: my Sonos streams now randomly cut out when I open my iPad - not when I open the app itself (which may have been running in the background - I don’t know). I know my brother has been complaining about the same thing for the past couple of weeks, and he’s in a different state with a different ISP. It may not be the Sonos app causing the problem, but I think it is. Original review: I am not able to switch rooms in the app. The room selector will not change rooms even after I deselect a room and select another room. I am only able to change rooms if I group the room I want with another room, and then deselect the room I grouped. It happens on my iPhone 7 and iPad Pro. I am running the latest iOS, and updated Sonos controller. The room selector menu is also hard to find. Really bad. BTW, I have a 6-zone Sonos system, and have been an ardent supporter since the early days of the company..Version: 8.2.2

Better than everIt’s not the size that matters. It’s the thought that’s been packed into it. I’m hearing a broader sound than I’ve heard in years. The compression of digital files has stolen the ‘full’ sound I knew and loved back in the vinyl days but the Sonos has brought it all back. Loving it..Version: 8.5.2

SonosIt’s amazing game changer.Version: 11.3

Brilliant solution that works really wellWe initially bought a single Sonos Play 5 speaker just to try it out. It worked so well I went straight back to the store and bought another couple more. We had no WiFi or setup issues, no dropouts or glitches - it was just simply plug n play. Despite needing access to the in-house WiFi, Sonos does not seem to affect any of the other WiFi tech that lives here under the same roof - it all co-exists very nicely. Now we enjoy beautiful music in every corner of the house both upstairs and downstairs, all at the touch of a button. The quality of the sound output from the Sonos Play 5 speakers is unbelievably good and easily fills the room. The Sonos app works great, is very stable and offers access to wide variety of music services. We used the Radio plugin by TuneIn as we love listening to the Cinemix radio station which plays fabulous music (and it's free too!! ) The Sonos app easily integrated with my existing digital music collection so I can now stream high quality music from the net, or from the phone or from the PC, and I can stream any of those sources in any combination easily. Sonos is simply brilliant!! The solution works well for us and we love it!!.Version: 7.4

I don’t regret spending money on this amazing sound systemThis best of them all is the that amazing sub, wow, this bass produced by that small speaker is simply amazing. I’ve had the system for almost four years and it still amazes me even yesterday when I was watching a music video on tv. I wasn’t so sure at the time I was gonna get it, I went to the shop like 10 times almost every day to play with it and I was contemplating between the Sony WiFi system and the Sonos system. On the last day when I finally decided on this was when I entered the shop at the far end and heard quality sound and deep bass coming from the area where the Sonos and other speakers were, so I said to myself, if I walk up there and it’s coming for Sonos, I’m getting them all, I mean the 5.1 system, unfortunately they didn’t have everything in stock so they asked me to wait the next day but I couldn’t, I drove about an hour to the next city to pick them up after paying for them in the shop I always visited. If you love music and quality sound as such, please don’t hesitate, you will be impressed..Version: 10.3.2

Great app, would love AirPlay support - read whyLove the app, love the system. Would be great to be able to add speakers to a ‘room’ though. As I understand it, you can label the room each speaker is in, but if I have a Play 5 and a Sonos One in the same room, I have to turn them on individually, rather than just playing music to that ‘room’. Otherwise love the ecosystem! Slowly expanding!.Version: 10.4.2

Love our Sonos, just wish they had a Watch appLove our Sonos systems in our ceiling and our portable units. We’ve been using this app for a while and it works well. Only reason I took off a star is that there is still no Watch app and it’s constantly telling me I need updates which is frustrating. Please make a Watch app - just something simple where you can choose a room and hit play to restart whatever was playing before. Nothing fancy just something simple please..Version: 10.2

Sonos oneSo easy to use, amazing sound, love it!.Version: 8.5.2

Good system, very flexible, but not without issuesI have four speakers, plus a recently purchased connect. It all works pretty well - most of the time. Occasionally I find I cannot operate the system from my devices although I think this is more an issue with the apps. My other issue is lack of description as to how devices work. This was particularly an issue with the Connect and the fact that I wanted to feed CD input into the system. Even the instructions are vague and was only after upgrading and setting up the system was it clear that a "line in" option appeared in the app linked to the Connect. It's all obvious, but not until you've purchased! On the plus side also, customer support is very good. In general, I'd recommend the Sonos system to anyone who wants good quality and flexible audio throughout your house..Version: 7.4

Incredibly simple and intuitiveGreat system, great app, great sound! Definitely buy a SONOS!.Version: 7.4

Speakers = Amazing, App... okayI’ve used Sonos speakers for well over 5 years now and simply love the sound and audio. High quality speakers thought your home is a game changer. The app on the other hand, could use some renovation. If you search for a popular artists name to find a specific album, you’ll be greeted with a cluster of disorganized censored albums, uncensored albums, song singles, and song features. Nothing is organized by year or date. It would be nice to be able to click an album, then have a toggle button that changes it from censored to uncensored. It would make things more user friendly. My second recommendation would be about the layout. For such a smooth speaker product line, the app seems really square and blocky. Lastly, a touch of Dark mode to make the inter interface black might just be a personal preference, however we’ve all seen the success Apple has had implementing a dark mode for their devices. It’s more pleasing on the eyes and would also make the entire app look like the logo. Again, I love the speakers, however when it takes me more than 3 minutes to find a single song (in this world of instant gratification) it doesn’t make me too happy..Version: 10.6.2

Appears to have settled down for meStarted using Sonos a few years ago now with a single Play:1. Certainly there were stability issues with the Sonos app early on and new versions would occasionally (and annoyingly!) make the previous working version less stable. However, and I’m touching wood as I write this, the app has performed pretty well for the last year or so with only the odd glitch. I’m surprised to see the number of recent 1 star reviews but perhaps it’s the music service interface that’s the issue, I use Deezer and it’s generally fine. My system has expanded now to 5 Play:1’s, a Play:5, 2 Playbars, a Sub and Connect. I use multi-room every day and my wife and son also use the system in parallel, virtually without issue. Hope the people having problems get a resolution as the speakers remain one of the best home solutions in my humble opinion..Version: 9.3

Massive massive backward stepI used to love Sonos and would recommend it to everyone, but not anymore... the new app interface is so so bad it is almost unusable. I very rarely leave bad reviews but felt compelled to this time. Never before have i encountered such a backward step in an “update”. I’ve unfortunately invested in sonos so am stuck with it now, but won’t be recommending it again until they fix the functionality of the god awful ap. Just revert it!!.Version: 8.2.2

Jumping tracksMy Sonos keeps jumping to the next track before the first has finished. Sometimes only a quarter the way through a track. It’s very annoying. A shame for a good product. If it can’t be fixed I may have to change systems..Version: 9.3.1

Upgrade is HorribleI have owned Sonos from it’s inception. My two dozen speakers are used at my home, office and vacation home. Until now I have had ZERO complaints- only praise! In fact, I have encouraged my friends and family to buy Sonos and given the speakers as gifts - until now. The new interface is non intuitive and confusing. Actually, it is COUNTER INTUITIVE. My friends, family and office staff have turned against me for providing them a monster of a music system. I am now the one asked to tune in the music that they desire because no one can figure it out (or don’t have the time to try to figure it out). Then I embarrassingly struggle to fulfill their request, and screw it up anyway. However, not all hope is lost! Sonos, if you want me to give you the five stars that you really deserve, fire the individual in charge of this most recent downgrade. Please post a photo of them exiting the building carrying their personal items in a cardboard box. Then get the app back to the way it was, with a few interface tweaks that are intuitive. Sonos, this is the “New Coke” of the 21st Century (look it up Millennials). You can fix it!.Version: 8.2.1

Nightmare Update!I did an update before Christmas sometime and what a mess! Obviously I am not the only one looking at the reviews below. The system was intuitive and easy to use and worked perfectly then some bright spark decided to make a change. Not at all intuitive, you select a room and it won't work, it then won't let you deselect the previous room. Half the time it won't pick up the speakers and trying to find things is a nightmare. Great system and great sound but this update was ridiculous. Please, please put it back to how it was before. Also it needs Bluetooth in it as well as I have to use another speaker for my Anytune app. Please make it easy again as even our neighbours were complaining of the exact same things!.Version: 8.3

New beginnings with the BeamOkay... we had a 10 year old Sony 46” Bravia TV and Bose Acoustimass 15 home theater speakers run through a Sony amp. So we decided to move up to a LG 65” c8 television. Love it, but that’s another review. The Bose was great for music but was always problematic trying to get it working properly for surround sound. The Sony and Bose never really jived with each other. So as a result we seldom used it. Anyway, friends told me about Sonos speakers and since we had the new TV I decided to purchase the Beam sound bar, the sub woofer and two play 1 speakers to make a surround system for the new LG. Man it sounds great. We are very please with the system and the ease of setup and use. It is pricey when it comes to the sub woofer. However the sub really completes the system so I would say if you can swing it $$$, go for it. We chose the Beam over the larger Sonos sound bar because the Beam has a HDMI hook up with “ARC” and Alexa built in if that’s important to you. I just didn’t want a optical connection that the bigger Sonos bar only comes with. However I would guess the larger sound bar probably sounds better.??? However don’t let the size of the Sonos Beam fool you, it's impressive. Anyway I can’t wait to add more speakers to our house later on. Very satisfied customer..Version: 10.0.1

Sonos 80% perfectIt’s transformed music enjoyment in our home, app navigation is bang on, Would earn 5 star with High-fidelity or lossless audio at higher bitrate of 1,411 kbps..Version: 9.3

Sonos is hotI like it It’s hot Our guests love it It’s hot.Version: 11.4

Would be 5 stars if I appreciated a bait and switch.Over the years, I have built a Sonos system with speakers throughout my home, a significant investment. I have also accumulated a library of thousands of titles, expecting to listen to my purchased music via Sonos, a functionality that made the hardware investment worthwhile. On the positive side, Sonos has gradually solved most of the bugs that would inexplicably fail to connect or randomly break connection with my WiFi or with my iphone. But the unwelcome news that Sonos would cease to play titles “on this phone” felt like a real ripoff - a classic bait and switch. It is redundant and wasteful to pay dues to a music streaming service when I already “own” the music I want to hear. Had I known that Sonos would block me from listening to my own music, I would never have invested in the system. This is why, when friends ask me whether they should buy Sonos, I now recommend rather that they purchase a set of high end Bluetooth speakers. I will be surprised if the good folks at Sonos publish this review, as it is anything but the hands-down accolade I’m sure they would prefer. But if they are serious about building consumer loyalty and serving and growing their customer base, they will thank their subscribers for their invaluable feedback and reinstate the “on this phone” functionality..Version: 11.0

Sonos no longer works!Oh no, I can no longer use my Sonos! I've been happily playing streamed music and radio on my new Sonos speaker for the last 4 months, using an old decommissioned iPhone 4S. It's been great..until today when the app declares it needs upgrading. Upgrading completed, I then get a message to say updated app is not compatible with operating system! Groan.. Checked iOS and it's up to date, so I delete the Sonos app and attempt to download older version again. Message says it's available but the version that downloads is not compatible with 9.3.5 ! So here we are, having to now look for something else (other than my phone) to use as a Sonos controller. A great way of killing off old devices, rendering them useless before their time :(.Version: 9.3.2

Latest app update, 11.1I just have to say Sonos is the ultimate in audio equipment and as a audio source provider. I have a very expensive and well equipped home AV system and I incorporated Sonos into my system over 6 years ago and I couldn’t be happier with their equipment and what they provide as a source for any type audio you’re interested in listening to. Now, they just stepped up their game with the latest update, 11.1. Great job Sonos. They have an excellent record of providing anyone owning their system with the best service and system updates. And, they just put out the best update yet! The new “Sonos Radio,” they added to the system control app is superb! The way it’s organized is very user friendly and not only give you all your local radio station of any genre, but also provides a large listing of suggested audio providers. The best part is they provide this service for free. All you need is their equipment, an account, and the Sonos app..Version: 11.1

Just love this fantastic systemI've been a Sonos fan now for a few years and just love the simplicity and sound quality. It is addictive and have expanded it throughout the house. All my friends love it too and they've bought in. Usual comment about it not being cheap is probably justified but I guess you have to pay for a bit of quality sometimes. Initially thought the lack of connectivity on the playbar might be an issue but it isn't, as long as your TV has an optical in. I’ve plugged mine into my sky box optical as I watch everything through that and it gives me 5:1 sound. My tv is little older and doesn’t play 5:1. They’ve recently changed the App which I’m finding more clumsy than the previous version and hence only 4* - hopefully I’ll get familiar with it soon. I definitely recommend the system..Version: 8.2.1

Great for Audiophiles and Newbies Alike!I am a father of four boys and waited a long time (goodbye diapers!) to buy my home audio solution. I own five (gen 1) Ones, a Playbar and a Connect Amp and have been very happy with all of them. The Amp drives two Bose 301 outdoor speakers out by the pool and it effortlessly fills the entire yard with sound. The Playbar and two of the Ones are my “home theatre” and surprisingly provide a lot bass for the bass-starved flatscreen in our living room. The other Ones hang in our home gym, if that’s what you call a room with a treadmill and a weight bench, and provide awesome audio for those few and far between workouts. Long story short, these components provide excellent audio quality at a nice price and are modular so a guy on a budget can add pieces little by little. Pure audiophiles may snub their noses at these, but the increasing quality of audio sources make these an excellent choice for any room, situation and budget. I have a recommend Sonos products to anybody looking to get into this space at a reasonable price. The cost may be entry-level, but the quality is much greater. I can’t wait to get my Sub!.Version: 10.2.3

Love the product, not the App.I love my Sonos system, but it is getting ridiculous that we can still not use Airplay from other apps directly to Sonos, or like/dislike songs in Apple Music in app to keep our preferences correct, or easily update and play podcasts without needing to download every episode as it comes out to the IPhone and then play through that. An avid fan turned frustrated user..Version: 8.5.1

Love Sonos app - can we have a quick scroll through alphabetical search ???The Sonos app is good but needs a quicker way to scroll through albums via an alphabetical quick scroll search like on other streaming services. Would be awesome thanks.Version: 10.6.2

Updated: I love Sonos. The app isn't perfect, but it's acceptable.Updated: I don't know that I'll ever love the new app design but they've definitely improved it since my last 2-star review. The Sonos experience as a whole is 5 stars. I love these devices, plain and simple. Original Review: I'm split on this review, obviously. It's tempting to defiantly throw up a 1-star review and walk away without explanation but that would be unfair to a product that really is a standout. I've been a Sonos evangelist for years and years. The system has always been rock solid and the app intuitive -- flawless hardware and software. That all changed with the latest major version of the app. It's so confounding to those of us that have loved this product for years. I don't care that it's white -- stupid quibble. People can get over that. But the actual interactions I have with it while trying to play music in different rooms never seem to get easier. I eventually get what I want but it's not before cursing the new app several times for tricking me into the wrong area. I want so badly for Sonos to acknowledge their error and revert to the older-style navigation. It would be an easy 5-star review from me again..Version: 8.5.2

Work around for 9.0?I’ve been a Sonos user since very early on. I have two Play:1 speakers that I use as a stereo pair. I was very disappointed when the v9.0 update, which apparently enabled Air Play on the One (plus other current models), disabled the home screen controls for those of us using the legacy speakers. I’ve also experienced the same as others where the last ~20 seconds of each track would be cut off when I was playing from a locked iOS device. I keep nearly all my audio on my iPhone & iPad and generally play straight from those devices’ libraries instead of from my Mac, as the latter spends most of its time in sleep mode. Surprisingly I just accidentally got the lock screen controls re-enabled and the end-of-track cutoff seems to have gone away. For some reason one of my speakers dropped off the system and I couldn’t get it to reconnect, so I did a full-on controller reset on my iPhone. I also unplugged both speakers and then basically set my system back up, as if it was new. No idea why, but like I said this has caused the end-of-track dropout to go away and my lock screen controls to come back (even though Sonos says explicitly in their release notes that this function has gone away for those without Air Play compatible speakers). Very weird, but now my system’s back to how I’ve used and loved it for the past 6-7 years and it’s great! Hopefully some others might try this and have some luck getting full functionality back..Version: 9.0

Sound is never good enoughSonos keep upgrading never satisfied, love your work..Version: 7.4

RetrogradeIf you can avoid it don’t update to this version of the app. Not intuitive for users with multiple zones, the old version so much better..Version: 8.2

Sonos why choose themI live in a house that Is over 550 years old and grade 2 listed and the last thing I what to do is place wire’s everywhere. I have Sonos in all our rooms because the system was the easiest to install the easiest to set up and a sound (after having other systems) the best. The quality is excellent each system is built to last with all speakers having a solid feel and great design. If you are thinking of getting a system just simply go and listen and I challenge you not to be impressed. I started with a play One then in my opinion the best sound bar out there, then slowly having Sonos throughout the house. What other system can give you the above and have a wireless solution that can deliver different play options in every room or one song or music provider throughout you home with a simple clear App. Hope this helps and thank you Sonos for making sound easier to hear. David.Version: 9.3.2

Unreliable connection! Always cutting out and searching for wifiHad no issues with this until this evening when trying to play music. It's never been an issue connecting to my wifi but for some reason this evening it will connect to my wifi for a while and when I try to play music, it will play some songs but not others, then it will skip songs half way, then sometimes it won't even play songs (the progress bar doesn't move even though I can see there seems to be music being played when I go to the queue) completely unreliable now!!! Always says unable to connect to Sonos and will constantly search for Sonos. It works for a while when I turn wifi off and on but I can't be expected to keep doing that all the time..Version: 10.0.3

So far very impressedSo far I’m very impressed with the capability of the app itself. The Sonos Playbar I bought is a dream when listening to music and watching movies. The app itself is limited but I can totally get by with what it offers for the time being. I mostly use Apple Music, Pandora and Soundcloud. So it’s kinda weird but they are apps within an app. It’s confusing to describe but it feels like second nature when navigating thru the app. Best part is while I’m playing music on the Playbar I can still watch videos on my phone so not to disrupt anyone else listening to music. I usually pop in my AirPods and watch a quick video on FB or FaceTime and the music still plays. This is probably my favorite feature. I have no regrets and I’m sure it only gets better from here. By the way the sound quality is absurdly wonderful. I hear things I usually don’t ever hear on just about anything else. I have an open concept living room and it fills the entire room effortlessly! I must purchase the subwoofer to complete the ensemble but I have to recover from the grip I just let go of on the Playbar but it is definitely in the near future!.Version: 10.0

Best speaker everLove my new Sonos, so easy to use, brilliant sound quality, and it doesn’t take up massive space.Version: 10.6.2

VolumeGreat app we have 5 speakers around the house. Would love it if you could make the sound volume like a wheel so you can adjust the sound slightly. ie one jump from 3-4 is hard to do..Version: 8.5.2

Sonos convertFor years I have enjoyed traditional hi fi through some great gear but since my son showed me the possibilities and sound quality of the Sonos products my beloved system has been mostly silent. It was the sound bar and play ones coupled with the sub woofer that really impressed me with movies and then the following day having joined the set of play ones with our barbecue area set streaming some Rock that I finally agreed that this is the future and how lucky I am to have a son who lives this stuff ! Thanks Sonos for some ripper products. Steve Truman.Version: 9.0

Reliability issuesThe sound is phenomenal... I have a cinema system set up with Bar, Sub and a pair of 5s for surrounds. Better than going to the cinema. I also another pair of 5s in the bedroom and a single 5 in the kitchen. Wouldn't waste my money on 1s or 3s. Go straight for the 5s if you can afford them and as a stereo pair nothing on the market even comes close. That's the good part.... but.... the interface with the app is shocking. The volume adjustment on the iPhone app has been fraught with issues but now seems fixed. The app itself is cumbersome and needs simple icons rather than ridiculously small drop down menus. It looks like it was designed by grandpa in the 90s. Get it sorted sonos. You have an amazing product, but your recent reliability issues and app need updating and rectifying..Version: 7.4

Still great, don’t blame SonosFelt obliged to write a review to defend Sonos when so many poor reviews are wrongly blaming issues and faults on Sonos. The recent decision to remove the ability to play music directly from the iPhone was down to the changes Apple made with their later versions of iOS that made streaming directly in this fashion unreliable. Presumably because Apple is pushing their own protocol, AirPlay 2 (which the later Sonos devices support) as the preferred streaming method from iOS. Most connectivity / playback issues are down to routers / WiFi and not Sonos. The WiFi space is forever more crowded and a simple occasional reboot of Sonos speakers and router can rectify this - or better still, changing the WiFi channel the Sonos network is on to not use the default. Sonos of course now also supports Bluetooth on its newest speaker Move and this works really well, so streaming from any Bluetooth enabled device is now available with this speaker (so on iOS devices it is available as an alternative to AirPlay 2 when WiFi is not available). There are many moving parts involved in a Sonos setup that include other manufacturers than Sonos, so to solely blame Sonos software developers for the difficulties in keeping up with other companies changes (companies that often produce competing products) is entirely unfair. Sonos remains an excellent product which is continuing to innovate and still sounds brilliant..Version: 10.5.1

RustyboltEasy to use. Quality sound. Recommend it..Version: 7.4

Life Changing! Finally invested in some Sonos speakers - they were so easy to use and gave access to a never ending variety of music through streaming services, that we now have 8 speakers dotted across the house. Great sound quality too..Version: 7.4

Songs on iPhone and iPad cut shortWhen I attempt to play any iTune playlists that I’ve loaded onto either my iPhone or my iPad the first few songs will play all the way through, but eventually Sonos will begin to only play part of a song and then it will skip to the next song, playing only part of that song and then skipping to the next song, and so on from that point on. I searched online and found that hundreds of other people are having the same problem and it appears there is no resolution for it yet. Sonos support wants to blame people’s routers but I have a hard time believing that hundreds of routers are dropping their connection at about the same exact point in every song. Also, if it was my router dropping the connection then why do the first few songs of a playlist always play all the way through, but then at some point they begin skipping part way through. I think Sonos needs to swallow their pride and hire some hotshot technicians/programmers to resolve this..Version: 8.5.2

Works as advertised...Great!Over the past 3 years I have acquired the SONOS products to include the Play 1 and Play 5, several Connects and several SONOS Amps to control music throughout the house. It has allowed me to use some of my legacy speakers very effectively. The controller app works well but I am a tech person so easily understand some of the nuances to the features. My wife can use it well enough to play her favorites as well. I will note that as more features are added to the controller app, it gets more complicated and those technically challenged don't find it as easy to navigate the controls. Great products though and the sound can be perfectly matched to any room. One issue I discovered is that SiriusXM limits the number of simultaneous streams so if you are trying to play a channel in multiple rooms you will get a message cutting off the stream. I think their max is 2 or 3 simultaneous. Pandora works well for whole house events..Version: 7.4

Sonos Move and othersWe have a full system at our home with 5 zones with portable speakers and voice activated speakers for both inside and outside. Nothing short of fantastic. We also have a “Move” speaker at our holiday house. Again nothing short of fantastic. You can move the speaker around where you need it and the sound quality out of all systems is perfect with the highest quality. If you think I love my Sonos you’re correct..Version: 11.1

Love my SonosI'm a lover of music and a lover of listening to said music on my Sonos player. I have the play 3 and it works for my kitchen and living room. It's a pretty great sounding system and pretty loud as well..Version: 7.4

The Most Reliable Smart SpeakersHaving had numerous wireless and multi room speakers, I can safely say sonos is by far the most reliable. The app makes living with sonos so easy, overnight scheduled updates, fast load times and a clear interface. Excellent sound quality, and strong, stable Wi-Fi connection. Having had a (more expensive) Bose system, which probably sounds marginally better, but comes with the agony of constant drop outs, lacklustre software and updates at inconvenient times, it is no match for Sonos as a complete system. Would highly recommend to tech people for the quality, design and features, and ‘normal’ people for the ease of use and simplicity. Excellent all rounder..Version: 10.2.1

Speakers are great this update is infuriatingThis update of the app is disappointing for three reasons. First the UI has changed making it more difficult to navigate through two rooms and the primary view for your playlists and favorites only shows a handful you need to click show all to see your entire lists. Second it seems to be performing less reliably than before. Rooms are dropped the last played audio is forgotten and groupings are frequently forgotten. Finally this app insists that you register a Sonos account in order to use all the features. This is absolutely ridiculous. It was working fine without a proprietary Sonos account before there is no new feature I need that should require a Sonos account. I do not want to sign up for another account on some other companies website that can be hacked or preached or used to harvest my personal information ways that I can’t control. I would much prefer that all the information at Sonos needs to be stored locally on either one of my controllers or on some of the hardware..Version: 8.1.1

Sonos Play 1 x2 & SonosNew review, We have now added another Play 1 & a Playbar. They are great working together with the Tv for movies and seamlessly switch between tv or music. With a play with the settings the music is soo much better. Now just to add a sub later. Previous review The start of something great now for more to add to the collection. The sound is better than most big sound systems and having full control on all digital devices is so great..Version: 8.2.2

Just one faultThis app is brilliant, the only fault I can find is when playing tracks from a personal iTunes library off a phone or PC, the tracks that have previously had running times manually edited by the owner are not recognised by the app & are played in full? Why is this Sonos? Can it be corrected please? I have an extensive iTunes library with many edits, it’s frustrating that when played thru Sonos these edits are not accepted..Version: 10.0.3

Music and atmosphere in an instant!I love Sonos! I had a separates setup before with some wired speakers but I had to chase the wires into the wall and plaster over them to hide all the cables to try and make it look clean and tidy. No need to do that with Sonos, just one cable...for power! And they are so compact that they basically fit anywhere in any room! I only have 2 play 1’s. One in my bedroom and one in the sitting room but this is still enough to fill my home with lush sound and music. The sound quality is amazing for the size of the units. I can only imagine how good the other (more expensive) Sonos speakers sound! The only reason I haven’t gave Sonos 5 stars is because I had to buy a separate Bluetooth speaker to listen to my vinyl records. I wish I could have played them through my Sonos play 1’s as the quality would be far better but it was going to cost 100’s of pounds and would have required buying a 3rd Sonos unit just to link up my Bluetooth turntable. Come on Sonos why have you not included Bluetooth? I’m pretty sure Bose, Philips and the others have Bluetooth as standard??.Version: 8.2.2

Great hardware. Awful app (EDIT: Much improved)A major app update late 2017 moved Sonos from being a great overall package to one where I’m left questioning my investment in a reasonable number of quite expensive speakers and connects. The new app is often slow to connect and is unintuitive, taking many clicks and swipes and clicks, navigating by memory, to move between rooms, music sources, track searching and room grouping. It’s disappointing that Sonos appear to have ignored their customers following months of forum complaints. Some simple updates would help make it easier to use but none have yet been forth coming. I’ve introduced many friends and family to Sonos and all feel the same. I remain hopeful they will listen in 2018. All further purchases on hold! EDIT Jan 23rd 2018: Significant improvement in the app with navigation bar always visible and better room display. Sonos have listened and promise continued improvement. Great news!.Version: 8.3

Never misses a beat!I started out with a single Sonos speaker a few years ago. My home has now evolved into a multi-unit Sonos environment with speakers in several rooms, a Playbar and Bass. I have never had a single problem with any of my speakers or wireless connectivity. It all works so wonderfully well. I use the app on my iPhone and iPad daily as well as on my PC. Nothing ever disappoints. I have never regretted my decision to buy Sonos products..Version: 8.1

Sound is great but customer service is a disasterLove the sound and the app overall works well. Sonos customer service, however, is really bad. They obviously make it difficult to speak to someone or quickly resolve a problem. And they are closed on weekends. Joy. Our Sonos players are frozen as part of an update (8.4). The trouble shooting didn’t solve the problem and there is no way to play music. I guess we won’t be playing music at our dinner party tonight. I suppose this one downside of technology upgrades. Update: After 20 minutes on hold, I spoke with customer service. Went through all of the troubleshooting issues that were on the website. Didn’t solve problem. Apparently it is a hardware issue and I need to get a new modem for my Sonos system to update and function properly. It is what it is - the price of technology. My customer rep was really smart and patient, so I changed my review from 2 stars to 3 stars..Version: 8.4

Extremely disappointing love the speakers hate the softwareWe fell in love with Sonos and have invested heavily in the system. We loved the sense of innovation that Sonos bought. The fact you didn’t have to get a wired system, it made it easy to add too and group speakers, the sound quality is REALLY good and the supporting software made it all so easy to control. And, up until now, you can control them from your hand held device and stream music. I was so excited to find out they are developing garden speakers and been watching eagerly for their launch. I cannot over state my disappointment in in learning they are taking away, in my opinion, a fundamental function from the system. Rendering it virtually unusable. The speakers will still work if you can afford or have invested in a streaming service. If not you have to have a hard drive constantly connected to your Sonos so you can get access to you music. This is not the innovation that first attracted us to the system. Where is the forward thinking? The dynamic company that we invested in? I feel utterly let down by Sonos and very disappointed in a company who got it so right not so long ago. Needless to say we won’t be buying any more Sonos products unless this issue gets sorted..Version: 10.3

Worst update ever!!!Switching songs while playing, tried to download again and again. A bad disappointment!.Version: 8.4

Terrible Latest UpdateI have few Sonos speakers around the house and I love it, but the latest app update is just awful. It is now really hard to select a room and it doesn’t respond to commands. My morning alarm is set for radio. Since the new update its been going off as chime. I haven’t made any changes to my settings. It’s got a mind of its own. I tried to change it back to rado, but my settings is already on radio, so how am I meant to get rid of that annoying chime? Another thing is that’s it really hard to select a room to play music. After I make my selection of music and choose the room, it starts playing in the wrong room. Please bring back the old interface..Version: 8.0

Latest update is awful!Omg this is terrible! I wish there was a way to uninstall this latest update! We have (had!) three rooms on this system. Since the update the only way to switch off one of the rooms was to pull the power cord! What kind of control is that? And I suppose that means this room is now unusable! This really needs to be addressed - I paid a lot of money for this system! UPDATE: it has taken a little while to get used to the new UI. I will also say the the new version was a lot more temperamental with Google Wifi - because the four speakers were reaching different access points it was hit and miss. However Google recently updated Google Wifi and that made things a lot better. I also plugged one of the speakers into an access point ethernet, which creates a dedicated Sonos network, and everything is now perfect again! I've changed the review to 4 stars. I still don't like the new UI, but in all fairness the whole system really does work extremely well..Version: 8.1

Perhaps problem with latest update on my system?Latest app update (13 Apr 21) doesn’t work with my iPhone SE connecting to my system. App continues to ask for me to reconnect to my system, then when it says ‘done’ it boots me back to the login screen again. iPad login for app is ok - so problem appears to be limited to IPhone app only. Updated - suddenly started working again. No issues now.Version: 11.2.8

Mystifying changes to a good appGreat product, but The latest app made bad changes to the interface for rooms management. It seems to be oriented to playing the same thing in multiple rooms but the implementation makes individual room control a gigantic pain. To switch rooms you have to uncheck one room and check the other. Oh, and If you flick The tab down rather than hitting “Done” start over. You will think unchecking a room turns off the music. It doesn’t. That may be ok, but I was so confused I wasn’t sure. Then there is this bug: In my case when unchecking dining room and checking family room (which I wanted to turn off), after hitting “Done” it kept going back to Dining room which happens to be he first name in the list. The only way I could turn off the music in the Family room was grouping both rooms and hitting off. I would trash this whole concept. Roll it back one version guys and forget this..Version: 8.0

Screwed over againBe warned, technology changes and so do apps. Therefore, so does the functionality of your system and not always for the better. I bought a play 5 some years back and loved it, well, I loved the combination of the app and the hardware. Then the app changed to look like rubbish. I got over my disappointment with the app and expanded my system to include full 5.1 in my TV room. Loved it. But now the app has changed again and removed a key feature, “lock screen control”, a feature I have raved about because it was so incredibly user friendly. Now it’s gone and I’m seriously ticked off with Sonos. This is not an improvement and it’s not the first time. Be warned people, these guys will change the free app and screw with your very very expensive sound system and there ain’t nothing you can do about it..Version: 9.0

Love the gear, hate the appHad SONOS gear for over 10 years, just had to throw out my CR100 controllers! They were still the easiest way to use SONOS. The apps just keep getting worse. Not intuitive, overly complex, hard to navigate. Current version needs throwing out and a whole new design implemented. So rating this 1 star for app controller. 5 stars for the gear though - still best multi-room system..Version: 8.5.1

Good system but alarm defaulting to repeat mode is BADI’ve had my Sonos system for a few years and I’m very happy with it. The UX of the app however is more mss than hit of late. My biggest gripe, which Sonos choose to ignore, is the change the made to the alarm playlist feature. Now when you choose a playlist as your alarm it defaults to repeat mode, great if you want your playlist to loop endlessly but for the vast majority of people, they’ll have pre-determined playlists set up for their alarms and would rather not have it on repeat. Sonos don’t give you the choice. It’s on repeat by default and the only way to stop it is after the alarm has activated, then it require you to tap the repeat mode indicator twice to revert back to ‘standard’ mode. Given that you can select features such as shuffle mode and set a time limit for your playlist in alarm settings, I fail to understand why Sonos feel users must have the repeat mode imposed upon them. Please, make it optional!.Version: 8.4

Update - working againUpdate - Developer responded quickly and recommended I call customer service. It’s difficult for me to call customer service during their posted hours so I performed a factory reset of all speakers and decided to “start over”. Took awhile to get the first couple connected, but eventually all are connected and have been working for a few days now. Original review- New to Sonos as of December 2017. Everything worked fine for a couple weeks and then the app was nearly useless with January update. The next upgrade helped some but still really inconsistent connection between my devices and Sonos network. Right now I have 3 controllers working but my iPhone will not connect, even after multiple restarts, app re-loads, etc. When this happened previously, Sonos support told me to resubmit a diagnostic even after having submitted, twice. No luck in resolving it. I really want this to work so I hope it’s user error, but I’m going on a month now with extremely inconsistent performance by the system..Version: 8.3.1

Don't upgrade! shame about the interface revamp. The only thing preventing a five star rating is the new interface. The previous one was fine, this one is confusing, and seems to have missed the point of a multi-room system. Before I could determine and change the rooms at a glance, and match to the service I wanted. Now, I seem to have to constantly burrow through menus. Not pleased..Version: 8.0

Almost perfectThe app is really useful and it has lots of really useful features. However, one thing that could be improved is when you use the search section there are lots of different categories such as Playlist, Songs, Albums, Podcasts, but there is no All section so if you search for a specific playlist, you need to put it on the playlist search setting otherwise nothing would come up. It would be better if there was an All section and then it would display the searches item in the different categories as you scroll down the results. I don’t think all the different search categories are needed and would be better if it just displayed your searched item in the different categories when you scroll through the results. One example of an app that does this really well is the Apple Music app as it splits the search into Top results and then splits the search up into the categories when you scroll down. Apart from this recommendation, it would be a really good app but the search system is quite frustrating when you are wondering why it can’t find your favourite song, and the reason is that you have had it on searching for podcasts!.Version: 10.2

FantasticI have had a Sonos Sound system for the last four years and it has never let me down. Music playing constantly in our home. Good music contributes to a good attitude. Love it!.Version: 7.4

Love it, with caveatsI love having Sonos at home. I have a large house with several different zones, including an outdoor workshop. I can easily move the music to each respective zone as I change what I’m doing I do wish, however, that Sonos also worked as an independent music player on the App so that you could use just one interface to play music no matter where you were A portable Sonos would be really handy, as would headphones maybe, but I guess that would kind of be counter productive to Sonos sales! All told, great quality and versatility throughout the home courtesy of Sonos!!.Version: 8.2.2

Horrible app update for a great systemThe usability of the latest app update is just terrible. It's hard to believe this was actually green-lighted by the Sonos product team. The new UX makes it very frustrating for long time customers to figure out how to use the system in a multi (5) speaker household. It's a pain to find/select favorites, switch between speakers, etc. Other reviews have already covered the main usability challenges so I won't rehash. I trust that the Sonos product/UX team is working hard to address these issues (hopefully putting ego aside). 2 stars only for now till these serious usability problems are fixed in a subsequent update. Good luck. Previous review from ~2 years ago: ----------------------------------- The Sonos app has been much improved over the past 6 months with the latest few updates, both in terms of usability and interaction design as well as in support of additional music sources. The Sonos system itself is top notch -- smooth, uninterrupted audio play with great sound..Version: 8.1

Sonos Lover but...Have used sonos for seven years and really really love it. But, I hate the new app update Oct 2017. Used to be smooth and seamless but the app on my iPhone is now awkward, hard to read, difficulty finding and searching the music and get it going, difficult to get the rooms playing together, and requiring extra steps making playing music from my phone something I don't want to do anymore. If I want to change music I get up and go to my desktop. Please please change this back to what it was. Update: just got another update hoping this would fix everything and now it's worse. All my pandora stations are sorted by the date I created them and not in alphabetical order. I went to the settings to change this back to alphabetical and changing the settings does not fix the problem. I have to scroll through all of my stations and read everyone in order to find the one I want to because I do not know and do not care what date I created a station. Ugh! My sonos love is all gone..Version: 8.2

Ali ANZEven I, a somewhat senior citizen could install the speakers and app! Well done on very clear instructions.Version: 9.2

If you're not happy with Sonos - Call Support - Free & US basedPros: We have had Sonos for over two years. We have 13 speakers throughout our house. It is the best thing ever! Recommend it to all my friends and usually have them come over to hear the system. For those of you having connection & disconnect problems please call their US-based technical support team FOR FREE! They are incredible! They will spend as much time as necessary to get your system up and running properly including running remote diagnostics. I wish other companies had such wonderful support for their products. I understand they have FREE lifetime telephone support as long as you own their product. How great is that? Cons: Sonos keeps changing their apps. It used to be so simple and wonderful to use. Then they came out with their new version of the app which is so much more complicated and harder to find where certain menus are located. I don't understand why they have to keep relocating menus....leave well enough alone! You had a great app and menus were very easy to find. (I still highly recommend the product!).Version: 8.2.1

The best multi room audio!Love our sonos system, so easy to use. The on line support is great, speakers are high quality. Would 100% recommend to anyone!.Version: 7.4

Great soundLove the app. Room setup is awesome and easy to use. Need the sonos app update for google assisstant for New Zealand though.Version: 10.2.1

ReviewWhat more can I say, SONOS is awesome well worth the cash. Sonos is great for home events the sound is clear and the base is awesome..Version: 7.4

Love it - 4.5 stars!Been with sonos for 3 years and it has never missed a beat. Gone from 1 speaker, to 2, to having the whole house filled with them including the sound bar, sub and surround speakers. The only downside I have found is the lack of HDMI on the play bar which limits you to optical and depending on your TV can also limit you to 2.1 sound, but I got around that limitation by purchasing a cheap HDMI audio splitter from jay car, plugged my streaming device in to the switch, the switch optical out to the play bar and now I have perfect audio and constant 5.1 sound. Loads of forum posts complain about the HDMI limitation and audio lip sync problems and this setup worked for me with Apple TV gen 4 (non 4k version). Hopefully HDMI and a new play bar that supports more then 5.1 is on the cards :).Version: 8.2.2

So good but room for more.My speaker is around 5 years old so if they’ve upgraded to Bluetooth connectivity as well in the meantime then my apologies. I love the speaker, it’s seriously awesome! But when the WiFi is out then we have a problem. The price point seems excessive however I’m a philistine when it comes to tonal changes and can enjoy music through a cheap car stereo as much as the most expensive sound system (my Sonos was a gift). I haven’t figured out how to connect it to my TV if that’s even possible either. So I guess for me, being able to have it connected via Bluetooth and WiFi as well as using it as surround sound (once I get a few more of them that is) would be the ultimate. Right now, we really enjoy our single unit as the household wake up alarm with our favourite tunes to start the day with dancing..Version: 10.4

Living with Sonos 3Fed up with tiny PC speakers or having to use headphones, I took the plunge and bought two Sonos 3s. Set up via the iPhone app was simply and straightforward. Sound quality is excellent. The Wi-Fi links work well. Next up was to set up a NAS drive with all my music. Choosing music okay. Finding a suitable internet radio station was daunting. I was ready to go. The app works well but I would prefer a better and easier visual system to switch between rooms. I have one downstairs and the other upstairs. On occasion I’ve turned the music on and the music has come out in the wrong room. Switching has been irksome. Generally though the music sounds wonderfully rounded and complete. I would just like to see an improvement to the interface..Version: 8.6

James GallI have had Sonos for 10 years. I agree totally with Metal Man. For a number of years the Sonos controller was easy, worked very fast and directly. BUT NOT NOW. Control off Sonos has become cumbersome, slow and unreliable. My friends used to use the app. No way they can do it now. Too many software updates have made the system now very very poor. Software updates often do this with most apps. Very disappointing Sonos. You have listened too much to your developers. System is poor now..Version: 8.5.1

Can’t get TV remote to work with PlaybaseI’m new to the Sonos eco system and have recently bought a Playbase, 2 Sonos One SL and a Play 5. Have plans to buy the Sub in the next couple of weeks. Moving over from Bose I find Sonos to be better in terms of sound quality and I absolutely love the app. However, I cannot use my TV remote to control the volume on my Playbase. The instructions on the app simply didn’t work and could never get through to the customer care number. If Sonos is reading my review please get in touch with me or provide me with an alternative method for my inquiry..Version: 11.1

Wish I'd started years soonerUPDATE after July software update Very buggy, lose a star. I wouldn’t have made these changes prepping for an IPO. Taking the controls off the lock screen has ruined the user experience. Enabling in Settings doesn’t work. Half the time volume controls don’t even work when the app is active. So many more taps to make basic functions work. These reviews tend to be hyperbolic but I’m not exaggerating. Really. I’m not. I’m calm. Again. I've become a huge Sonos fan and wish I'd tried out the system years instead of mere months ago. I've dispersed four Play:1s around the house and have a Soundbar for home theater surround minus a Sub (so far). I've had zero of the problems I see in other reviews. The software is Apple quality and while not audiophile caliber the hardware is the best digital reproduction I've heard. I wish I could control the volume on my locked phone from the phone volume buttons as I can with the Apple music app, and I wish the rest of the album/playlist would play when I start with a song in the middle. Other than that, I'm totally satisfied..Version: 9.0

I'm in love.Everything about this system is fantastic, and so intuitive. All the streaming is so easy, searching for new songs, queuing together multiple playlists, setting alarms and sleep timers.. Beautiful. I adore my sonos system and can't recommend it enough if you love to have music playing all the time. I have two in my main area set up to play radio from 10am and then relaxing music around dinner time and finally turn off at 11pm. I've one in my bedroom queued similarly but with different music. When I have a party different areas of the house can have different things going on. 11/10 just do it..Version: 7.4

Essential playlistsA lot of these have disappeared in the past few days! Any reason why??.Version: 10.6.2

How did we live without itSo with all of the technology i have brought through the house this is the only thing my wife has said "how did we live without it?" And she can control it with no issue. That means it is simple (very simple). This was recommended to me by family and when I actually heard it I was hooked. It is on constantly and I am ready to expand to other rooms. Expansion is extremely easy. Love it. I have others come to the house and wonder how I always have such a wide variety of music. Hey, I have all the music on earth. I have even installed it in a local business that I deal with. They love it for the ease of changing music without having to go to one location where the old system was, just pull out the phone and make a change. Need an expansion to a new area, drop in a SONOS. Want different music in different areas, light music on the floor, rock in the repair area, just a phone or pc app away. Need the music off in the classroom, out comes the phone. So easy, so versatile..Version: 8.2.2

Support is great, especially in AustraliaI have had very few issues with a multi zone SONOS set up all hardwired, when I have had an issue such one zone dropping out, the support guys have been generous with their time and advice, problem has been solved each time. I am extremely happy with Sonos, just waiting for a Siri version of sonos 1 so I can ask for specific Apple Music tracks in different zones..Version: 8.5.2

Great funThe TV sound bar and two satellite speakers give me great TV sound and my tunes sound great as well..Version: 7.4

Sensational once you get your WiFi sortedI've had Sonos for about 6 years now. The first year was painful as I had not got my WiFi set up correctly. I was always having connectivity issues. Then I paid for someone to fix that and now I love Sonos. Sure we have the occasional issue now but it's not Sonos. It's our WiFi if it goes down. Couldn't live without Sonos now. Thank you..Version: 7.4

New version UI is poor. Used to be 5*Revised 10/14 on new version. I hate the new layout. I do not find it intuitive and still struggle to figure out how to pick music to play in a particular room. Also, My favorites used to scroll vertically, making them easy to sort through as I could see many of them on the screen at the same time. Now they scroll horizontally and have huge icons, meaning I can only see one station at a time. This app used to be 5star worth and set it apart from the crowd. Original review: I seem to keep finding reasons to expand my system, it gets pretty addictive. I mostly use Pandora or other internet radio type stations. Streaming music to a speaker via Bluetooth is not the same! The speakers are more like today's smart TV's, with apps built in that run autonomously, the phone is just a remote control. Software navigation is incredibly easy and the speakers all sound amazing! I have a Play 1 in both my bedroom and home office, a Play 5 in my living room, a Playbar/Sub/Play1 surround system hooked to my Sony Bravia TV in the family room, and am waiting on a connect amp to arrive for my outdoor speakers. They can all play different stations, or group them together as needed during house parties..Version: 8.0

Best in the business! It took me a year to choose which soundbar and wireless system to purchase. What a waste!!! Finally got the Playbase and an extra Play1 for the kitchen/bedroom and it was the BEST DECISION ever :))) The APP is fantastic, integrated all my music apps in one click and it's so user friendly. Sound quality is by far the best to play music. And of course being able to control both speakers independently. An AMAZING system to look up by competitors. If you go Sonos you can't go backos ;).Version: 7.4

Getting better SonosConstantly improving. Love your work!.Version: 7.4

Sonos is great except when your wifi can’t find it!I think the standard of sound is amazing and the Sonos system is definitely worth investing your money in as the sound throughout the hose is wonderful! The only down side is that it seems to hiccup and have to have a convoluted reboot if someone else controls it from a device other than the primary device it is used to pairing with. Not quite sure why..Sonos troubleshooting team have been very helpful though when this has occurred..Version: 10.3.2

RovaPlease add Rova compatibility. So people in New Zealand can listen to the radio.Version: 10.3.1

Warranty issue?Shame you ‘washed their hands of my play 5 seeing as it was 25 months old(after a power outage in my area it didnt want to accept reconnection). It had never been dropped, shaken, wet or mishandled!!. The fact that you ONLY give a twelve month warranty now makes sense,.....sure you’re happy to sell me another Play 5 for 50% off,...HOWEVER I can’t afford to spend $1200 on one speaker every three years!!.Version: 9.0

Multi-room sound system that keeps getting betterI've been using the modular Sonos System for a number of years now and find it hard to find fault so long as you have a descent home Wifi setup. Set up is a breeze for any new equipment you add. You just plug it in and it takes less than a minute for your new device to be discovered. It streams your own music from your NAS, computer or phone, tune-in radio and has a wealth of subscription based music services which means most tracks you don't own are a few taps away using the intuitive app. Because the system functionality is software based, new features and services get added over time. My only criticism is the cost of the speakers in the UK. It would be nice If they were available at the equivalent dollar price.Version: 9.1

Our Relationship is Almost Perfect !!I’m a long standing Sonos customer with many units around my house (in almost every room much I’m sure to neighbours despair at times. However for all the great times and service my system provides me I’m still very disheartened when it fails to play or link up as it automatically should do due to it would appear various issues - internet strength / upgrades / system bugs / etc etc etc which in my opinion there is far too many occurrences of. Don’t get me wrong when it works I believe it’s beyond the best sound for value around. But when it fails (now becoming a weekly occurrence) its disappoints beyond belief. Especially when my only option sometimes is to switch on my £20 portable Bluetooth holiday speaker in substitute of my £0000’s Sonos system....I’m only saying !!!.Version: 9.3

I love sonosI put off getting a sonos system for ages. Since I have had one I wish I had bought it sooner. The sound is amazing and it is consistently great. It is he best wireless music system I have tried and rarely has a glitch which means you can rely on it. The app works really well and the regular updates mean better features and easy use. The original and the best!.Version: 8.2.2

Works great but not alwaysI can’t fault the sound, it’s fantastic, but from time to time the system just shuts down - speakers won’t play, tv doesn’t connect, music is playing but no sound coming out. Pretty annoying for one of the more expensive set-ups out there. I’m locked into Sonos now on account of having several speakers so hoping this glitch is momentary..Version: 10.2.1

Used to be great. Now confusing to use.I was recommended Sonos a few years back and fell in love with the system. I now have every Sonos component. Any they have been fantastic. Until now! Why Sonos keeps changing their App controller is beyond me. They had perfection and then, a few weeks ago they changed their App. Why? It's harder to use and for a user perspective it adds absolutely nothing to the functionality of the system. It's impossible to recommend a system where the company puts such a low value existing, committed customers that it gets them to replace a perfectly functional App with a confused version. Please Sonos, if you cannot improve the functionality of your App, leave it alone..Version: 8.1.1

Excellent so far.I'm new to this and generally resistant to new technology. The Sonos sounded like a great idea and a friend of mine has recently installed it ( well actually his son in law did because he couldn't get it to work). We went for the sound bar and 2 Ones on stands for a surround sound effect. It took a while to set up but everything did work first time and we love it. For some reason my Mac now tells me that the software needs updating ( even though it also tells me that there are no upgrades!) and I found it very hard to sync with my iTunes library. For some reason it wants to reload the entire library even though I only want to upload 1 new album. These are glitches that I've worked around and put down to my lack of tech experience. Anyway, we've now bought a Two for the kitchen and that set up almost instantly. As soon as it was plugged in the software found it and off it went. My next thing is to establish if the One speakers which are configured for surround sound can be swooped between that and an audio setting. They work for music and TV but I get the feeling that in music mode the balance with the sound bar would be different. So, in summary, far from perfect but they're up and running and I can live with the glitches (which I have now decided are not my fault)..Version: 7.4

Sensational must have !!Easy to install Sensational sound quality Surround sound effect for tv is superb Buy it I love it.Version: 7.4

Great systemI think it’s a great system, my only problem is that sometimes it will not turn off. No matter what we do we can’t adjust the volume or turn it off. This has happened only twice. Also when guests come over they can control our music with their phones.....Version: 10.1.2

Great concept and soundThe unpacking experience is Apple-esque and the product quality is the same. I liked the way the setup procedure takes you through a simple and logical sequence and it all works seamlessly. The sound is clean and fairly uncoloured with the units reproducing a sound bigger than their respective sizes. We got the Play1 for our bedroom, liked it, and then added the 5 Mk2 for the kitchen diner. I have a pair Play1’s in the lounge with a Beam and a Sonos Sub, which is great setup for watching tv. I also have a separate dedicated movie room with an elaborate sound system (not Sonos) but must say that Sonos set up in the lounge is impressive given that I’m used to something more extensive. We have a Play1 (Alexa) in the main bathroom - up on a shelf and out of reach, which is where the Alexa comes in handy. All in all, I’m impressed with Sonos products and will probably add more in time..Version: 10.3.1

It Would Be great ifI could listen to an entire song when streaming Deezer. Constantly loses connection to Deezer and skips songs. Works great with other apps like Sirius and the radio. Deezer has no problems when I listen directly to it..Version: 9.3.2
