✓ Neat Spelling GameThis game is really neat. My three year old, who previously has shown no interest in any other spelling games or shows, took to it immediately. The graphics are colorful and eye catching, the sounds are fun, and it's easy to use. You can customize the game so that your child isn't given any words longer than x-number of letters, which makes it appropriate for a variety of ages, and you can turn of the letter hints to make it harder for advanced children. ✗ It's OK, not GREATI had downloaded the free sample for my 2- and 5-year-old kids and decided to upgrade to the paid version. The 2-yr-old is more interested in this than his older sister, but they do both play with it. It's definitely helping my 2-yr old learn the letter names and helping him realize that words are made up of letters. He's also becoming quite adept at "dragging" items across the iPad screen and matching letters to eachother. Both of my kids are in Montessori programs and they learn the sounds of the letters first, not the names of the letters. So, for us, the drawback is that when the child touches the letters to drag them into place, it's the name of the letter rather than the sound of the letter that he/she hears. Also, there doesn't seem to be a progression from easy to hard words -- it's all random. And, there's no option to hide the spelling of the words, so the child never has to spell the words on his/her own..FrecclesVersion: 0
