✓ DisappointingI bought this for my 2.5 yr old. Firstly, it is a shame it doesn't give the phonics of each letter as this is the best way to teach toddlers the sounds of letters. It is a very simple app and perhaps too simple and therefore boring. My toddler only gave it a go for less than a minute. A waste of money..SiennnaVersion: 4.6

✓ Great AppMy 4 year old with Autism and my typical 2 year old love this app. They spend about 3-5 minutes each time they go through their favorite apps. I just wish they had more animals and that more things happened once they get it right. ✓ Promising, but no phonicsI was excited to find this app, as my 2-year-old has progressed beyond ABC Animals. I like the basic premise, but am extremely disappointed in the lack of phonics - letter names rather than sounds are used when labeling, which does not help a child learn how sounds blend together into words. ✓ Poor coverage for phonicsIf you are teaching your child with phonics (the sound of the letters rather than their name), you can set this in the app options. ✓ Not enoughFor £1.19 i expected a lot more words. It also only has single phonics sounds and no consonant blends like "fr" for frog. it says 45 words, but when you go to phonics mode you only get about 15 words..SeabassJbVersion: 4.0

✓ Over hyped waste of moneyThis is not the powerful educational tool it is advertised as. It uses only letter names not sounds (phonics) and only uses capitals. Which means kids will have to start from scratch once at nursery or school. Read in a bad American version of an English accent using zee instead of zed or zzz. ✓ Great for Special Needs Kids & Pre-KMy special needs daughter loves it. Teaches letters, words, fine motor skills, and matching. Highly interactive, with positive reward (instant gratification). We play it daily. I wish more educational apps were as good as this one! Opportunities for improvement would be to add a second level that would join words into short sentences and/or to create sight word stories after completing every 5 words. ✓ It's OK, not GREATI had downloaded the free sample for my 2- and 5-year-old kids and decided to upgrade to the paid version. The 2-yr-old is more interested in this than his older sister, but they do both play with it. It's definitely helping my 2-yr old learn the letter names and helping him realize that words are made up of letters. He's also becoming quite adept at "dragging" items across the iPad screen and matching letters to eachother. Both of my kids are in Montessori programs and they learn the sounds of the letters first, not the names of the letters. So, for us, the drawback is that when the child touches the letters to drag them into place, it's the name of the letter rather than the sound of the letter that he/she hears. Also, there doesn't seem to be a progression from easy to hard words -- it's all random. And, there's no option to hide the spelling of the words, so the child never has to spell the words on his/her own..FrecclesVersion: 0

✓ Really good for kidsIt's great with 1 exception, u need to fix it so the letters can only be placed in order. My son loves this and it is helping with letters but not with spelling because he will put the A C T in for cat but that's how he spells it.
