Speedtest by Ookla for Negative User Reviews

Stick with SpeedtestSpeedtest app is definitely a useful app, but the world doesn’t need another VPN company. Especially from a company who collects massive amounts of data already. Don’t get me wrong, your not Facebook but I wouldn’t trust you with my data. I wonder if people are starting to realize it’s pointless to pay a company for privacy, privacy doesn’t exist. Use tor and don’t give out personal info online. It’s free and smart. Anyways, go back to Speedtest and focus on that. Again the world doesn’t need nor want your VPN. We’re good. But thanks..Version: 4.2.0

False results?I have been using this app for a long time and it used to be good. Recently I’ve had a lot of trouble with my supposedly fast fiber internet. When I test on this app it can take 15 seconds to connect and start the test, shows massive ping initially and shows a decent rate up and down with an ok ping. Not representative of the actual performance whatsoever. Then test with a couple of other apps and sure enough, they indicate massive pings and one tenth of the rate indicated by Ookla. Are they in cahoots with the ISPs?? Definitely not recommended if you really want the truth..Version: 4.4.0

TRACKING YOUMandatory cookies blah blah blah. No thanks..Version: 4.4.4

Greed is not good, OoklaThe latest privacy declarations which include the user agreeing to Ookla’s collection of your name and other personal details and then requiring the user to agree to Ookla then selling your personal info is just outrageous. Plenty of alternatives to this unconscionable developers ordinary app. Lots of others exist that don’t leave you feeling like you’ve been screwed. Uninstalling this app was a pleasure. Always read the fine print. You guys are just rotten..Version: 4.4.3

Change your privacy policyPrivacy policy is garbage, how does a VPN app just sell all your info?.Version: 4.5.3

Was good.....Was good....now broken. Asks you to agree to privacy policy before use but no matter what you respond with it looks back and keeps asking the same question over and over. Unable to access the speedtest because of this. Same problem on both my iPad and iPhone. Looked to get assistance from the developer but clicking on "Contact" on the developers website just takes you to FAQ's. Can't seem to find a way to contact them directly..Version: 4.0.6

Speed test of your wireless network rather that your router connectionConsidering Vodafone reckons I’ve got 70mbps to my router which is 15mbps more that I should get I’m uncertain as to what this app actually does. To me this only tells you what speed you are getting wirelessly from your router to your device in house. Any provider will tell you the only way to get an effective idea of your connection speed is to hard wire your devices to the router. Who has actually got a port on their device these days? (Except dedicated gamers) According to this app I get anywhere from 18mbps to 35mbps over the last few weeks which at best is only half the connection speed I’m actually supposed to get. So whose telling the truth. In point of fact the only “speed” the internet provider should be quoting is the average speed to wireless device not to the router. That’d be realistic. Anyway your speed depends on how many people are on the internet on your road at any given time. That’s because most of us still have copper wire for the last quarter mike up the road (that’s Fibre to the box down the road rather than fibre to your router in your house which would produce a more consistent result on such a test as this).Version: 4.1.2

High battery drain - app runs constantly in backgroundBattery monitor reports 1hr of background activity every hour overnight. Turning off Background App Refresh fixes the issue, but what is this app doing when not in use (no Speedtest running, app swiped closed) and why? iOS 13.5.1..Version: 4.2.4

Good when active, latest version is draining battery with background activityThis works well as a speed tester and I have used it for years successfully. However the latest version in June 2020 has some sort of change where background activity is eating my battery. After finding my phone was down to 60% at lunch time after having barely used it, the battery analysis showed this app to be the main reason having consumed over 50% of the charge. I had not run any speed tests at all. This was just background activity..Version: 4.2.3

Not a free service in realityPlease read their privacy policy before downloading and using this app. They are taking an unreasonable amount of your personal information. Use another free web-based service instead..Version: 4.1.12

Avoid this app like the plagueBought this full version when it was just a Broadband Speedtest App. Excellent App and worked very well. Over the years however they have bolted on various other checking services with the final one being a subscription to their VPN service. I decided to give it a try due to my loyalty to Ookla. Biggest mistake ever. Their VPN is terrible. Can’t find a server, keeps disconnecting and I have to keep rebooting the App to try to connect again. I’ve been asked by support to uninstall and install the app. That’s actually the App version of “have you switched it off and on again”. I asked for a refund for the months subscription and will be taking a serious look at VPN reviews after I press send on this one. Great broadband speed tester, pants VPN!.Version: 5.3.0

CrashesUsed it five or six times and on two occasions it crashed my iPhone 11. I’ve taken it off my phone and will try something less deadly!.Version: 4.2.10

Locations Countries Apart.Speedtest as a whole is probably one of most accurate available however one major drawback!! Every time run test app detects home country no problem yet always tries connecting to server thousands of miles away needing manual adjustment which is extremely frustrating. Sadly this has been happening for last 2 months and finally found time to write a review and hope the developers will fix this problem swiftly. Factual can be in Los Angeles yet wants to connect with China initially or in Spain wanting to connect Austria, Uk to Ukraine. Update 30th September 2018. It appears that the app for some unknown reason thinks location is in completely different country listing options available there first then needing scroll through finding local servers. Come on folks when last checked Australia means Australia not India. Due to this now downgrading to 3 stars. Without this happily give 5 stars. Update 7th January 2019, Why does this app constantly run in the background and start running again after manual termination? Are you aware of Data Protection Laws in Europe, including Right to be Forgotten? Are you also aware due to current activities within your app multiple Lawsuits could be filed against yourselves? Can you explain reason to seemingly ignoring customers feedback? You also aware your app isn’t always accurate in fact sometimes way off existing speed?.Version: 4.1.2

Use this for years …Then they updated their “Privacy” Policy. This so called Privacy Policy is a doozy of a misnomer. It basically states that it doesn’t have one and your data is up for grabs to anything willing to pay for it. Nooooope. And ah-buh-bye..Version: 4.4.5

Not much useThe speed test is ok but ads obscure all following information..Version: 4.3.8

Not accurate at allI have tried using this app many times and never get an accurate reading. I go on laptop and use another speed test that is much closer to reality. When it searches for nearby signals, it shows that it reads from areas near 100 miles away from my home while the web based finds signals only 5 miles from home. This app will tell me I only have 14 mbps while I actually pay for 200. When I use laptop it will show my almost 150 mbps out of possible 200. Then i compare to 2 other web based speed tests and they run very close to each other. Then try this app again and still between 14 to 20. Totally useless if they can’t get real readings. Am deleting after many many failed attempts. It just seems they want you to download the app for information collection on users rather than to supply services as stated in descriptions. Totally not cool and just reconfirms my reason not to trust apps very much. Apps are not here for you, they are more about collecting personal information for ads and informational sales to other parties. Ads are killing the positive internet experience. Not the reason I buy a computer, laptop or any other device..Version: 4.3.5

Speedtest ok but ads inhibit usageI use this app to measure my broadband mainly because it had the capability to change the testing server. However in the last few months it has been increasingly difficult to change the testing server. Now it has been made even harder because the area where the ads display, covers the area where we are advised the change of server is located. Consequently when a test is completed the testing location goes out of sight and no matter what i have tried i cannot select any alternative server. With a VPN also running, the automatic selection could be in the USA, India or beyond. Pity because other apps make the selection a very easy process but because they are not as popular, yet, there aren’t any ads. Please developers every now and then join us broadband users in the real world and try your own product. Thank you for allowing me to let off steam..Version: 4.1.16

I got served up an adNo sooner do I run the first test, then I get this ad popping up (that I can’t get rid of) stating that I’m out of iPhone memory. Well, I’m on my iPad, not my iPhone and my phone has tons of available memory, as does my iPad thanks, I’m not stupid. If this is supposed to be a diagnostic tool, then it sure seems underhanded and counter-productive to be serving up bogus, spurious and misleading ads. Time to delete!.Version: 4.4.2

Good but not goodGood but not good. Very well designed, nice layout and easy to do. But there is one problem. My WiFi isn’t the greatest and when I want to play an online game I want to be able to play when the WiFi is good so I test it. But when I open the game (which has an internal ping measurer) it is different to what speed test says. I think it’s because of the server the game uses is different to the one that app goes to but if there were servers linked with games so if you wanted to check the ping for that game it would be easy. If this can be done (not sure if it can) it would be greatly appreciated!!!!.Version: 4.1.7

Won’t let me change countryCan’t watch US content anymore Only shows Canada 👎👎 Was planning to purchase Won’t without a list of servers.Version: 4.2.4

Mixed bagUsed this for a while now, the results entirely depend on who you are bouncing the test off, I’ve found massive differences by changing destinations and sometimes the distance is irrelevant, the default places are probably being used by countless people. Got to keep changing destinations until you get a result you like, time of day changes the results from the same server, I think this might be more to do with the default choices rather than your local conditions, this was a good App in the early days, there are many better ways to test your true speed now, I can’t list them there as doubt it will be published if I do..Version: 4.1.2

Version 4.0.6 BugDownloaded latest version today on my iPhone X and it gets stuck with the padlock screen reloading over and over again. I keep having to review the privacy notice..Version: 4.0.6

No longer effectiveHas Ookla become operationally irrelevant? Testing technical speed, sure, it will still work and show slowdowns of service due to connection and transmission issues. But, with regulations no longer making service providers treat content the same, does Ookla now give false sense of speed? Seems provides can now let Ookla have preferential treatment thus getting what appears to be great results while in actually still providing poor service with many sites to include news services being slow. Streaming and gaming win as they pay service providers while loading a simple page takes multiple minutes often with restarts. Ookla no longer reflects such slow speeds hence customers can’t complain to their providers for not providing advertised speeds. Ookla needs to disguise itself while running tests so as to reflect actual operational environments..Version: 4.2.6

Fake newsThis app is just a huge scam, i have AT&T fiber at my house and had been having lots of problems with it after 6+ months of having it so i called support to come help me fix it, the guy told me to download this and look at my mbps, they were high 200s but I still wasnt able to even to gain internet access. I started running tests with different apps and sites and even my PS4 and they all said that mbps were under 20. Take in mind I spend and over a hour running tests and this app was the only one always getting anything even in the 100s. After all that the AT&T people tried to convince me that my 7 electronic devices at home are all messed up... (take in mind i had just bought 2 brand new PS4 Pros two weeks before this) Horrible app will never trust it again. Also i didn't run this on just one app on just one device...Version: 4.0.9

Not interested in account sign upI’ve had this app for years, and it has worked well. There is absolutely no reason for me to have an account sign in, I don’t plan to use this app on any device except for the device it’s installed on. I don’t need my history ported from device to device, I just want to know my Internet speed at the moment I want to know it. As such, I have refused to install the latest update, and will continue to use the old version until I’m not allowed to… At which point I will just uninstall the app. I am not a fan of this trend on all things Internet to require an account in order to use a free product. Please remove this requirement in your next release, you spent a lot of time and money on it for no good reason in my opinion..Version: 5.0.1

Vpn not workingWhen I tried to use the new vpn it’s not work maybe because of the app please respond to this I’m very disappointed..Version: 4.2.2

Not good at allAs of a couple weeks ago this app has failed in many ways. It does not read the connectivity of your internet, it also sticks n glitches extremely bad. I uninstalled this app cause it mislead the readings n i had the internet provider come out only for it to show this app was way wrong. When running the speed app against theres it was clear this app was not correctly reading my speeds. I re downloaded the app today may 5th to see if they addressed the glitching issues and can clearly see they have not. It say my internet was running fine. Yet the app cannot read connections correctly if its glitching out extremely bad and sticking about 7x during the read. N stops short of the actual speed due to all the glitching issues the app has. I would suggest this app but as of recently the app has failed miserably n i wouldn't suggest using this app until they fix the issues at hand n from what ive seen the developers are in no hurry at all to fix the issues. So il be deleting this app once again..Version: 4.1.6

Collects way too much data! Warning!Absolutely no reason whatsoever for all the data they collect and how you are tracked and spied upon. I have purchased this app and uses it for years. The fact is they are playing the data collection game and it only gets more sluggish and eats more bandwidth for every update. Have now uninstalled and deleted it and will ensure that everyone I work with within security does the exact same. Shame on you! Recommend that all users delete this data thieving app until they remove tracking and that includes the third party tracking nonsense. Refund submitted. Formal complaint submitted to Apple. Ludicrous!.Version: 4.3.1

Rubbish VPNPurchased the premium for the VPN service and it wouldn’t connect to a U.K. server which was my sole reason for the purchase, sent them a feedback as there was absolutely no other defined means of contacting any customer support which I’m pretty sure is required by Apple for all apps, anyway heard nothing so requested and received a refund from Apple. This developer needs to get a grip, how dare they offer an incomplete service for which people have to pay and then as a further slap in the face not even offer any direct way to contact them for customer service! Get your act together or get off the App Store!.Version: 4.2.6

Accurate or Not?I am not sure what to make of this. I installed it on my iPhone 10 and ran a test of my download speed. I am currently being provided with download speed of 100 Mbps From my Internet provider. When I ran the test using this app, it consistently shows that I’m only getting 40Mbps down. Yet, when I use other testing apps I’ve downloaded from the App Store, they show I’m getting speeds of approximately 100Mbps. I get similar results on my iPad Air 2. So I’m not sure if this app is returning accurate test results or not. Is this app correct and the other two are wrong or are the other two wrong and this is correct. I have no way to determine what is going on. So beware if you’re using this as your soul app to text your download speed..Version: 4.0.2

Use regularilyAfter getting rid of annoying ads I use this app frequently since my internet/wifi is not consistent, even though iinet says it is. This app would be better if it takes average of speeds during test instead of taking the peak reading which may only be there a millisecond.Version: 4.0.7

Constantly showing 5mb download on any WiFiHave used this app for years and I must admit it had been a while since I last used it. Tried to use it for work purposes, the download speed seems to be capped at 5mbs doesn’t matter what WiFi I’m connected too, all other devices that can utilize speed test all are showing the network speed that is always dependent on the isp speed. But mine always downloads at 5mps, have tried other apps that I don’t believe live up to this app but they give me a better reading. Also deleted the app and re installed and still have the same issue..Version: 4.2.4

Speed Testing is Good, Map-Noir is PoorThe speed testing has been great and maybe this app should stick to what it is good at because… Using the Map feature to do a simple speed comparison between carriers for a location is largely useless and frustrating. You cannot find a location using the Map, it identifies where you are and that’s it. It advertises the ability to find signal information where you plan to go on vacation… good luck and happy scrolling! You end up having to use Apple Maps to find things around your target location and then scroll around on the blacked-out hard to read SpeedTest map to try and find same. I spent roughly 30 minutes trying to find a street location in Pacifica CA in SpeedTest and could not. (Like driving at midnight with dark sunglasses on.) Maps is also useless for carrier comparison. You have to switch back and forth to identify blotchy colors on a “map-noir” to try and figure out best carrier by guessing. By contrast (actually high contrast) OpenSignal provides a search, an easily readable map that’s not all sun-glasses-at-night map-noir, and will give you numeric comparison for the carriers. SpeedTest, stick to what you are good at, your name sake. Either fix the map or flush it because right now it stinks..Version: 5.1.0

Time stamp wrong NZ, UI worse. It’s about 8.45am and it’s showing as 5.43 pm so results show wrong time stamp. Just updated the app. Why change the UI to make it harder to access results etc? It was simple before with menu at bottom of page now it needs another step to open results. Changing server was clear and simple...now it’s harder to figure. Updating apps should improve not worsen the experience..Version: 4.3.1

Very high background usage!!I checked my Battery Usage and it showed this app was active over 9 hours in the background!! There is no way to turn off “background app refresh” for this particular app because it’s not listed. Please fix this bug!.Version: 4.2.4

Privacy policy isn’t very privateI actually read many policies, and was quite surprised to find how extensive the sharing of identifiable (not anonymous or aggregated) data is (related to this app), including to unrelated third parties, etc. This goes far beyond the policies of most any other company that I have come across, and though it is a “privacy policy”, implying they keep identifiable data private, that does not seem to be the case, with the policy stating it will share/sell that data. The privacy policy says they will not keep it private; so not really a privacy policy as the name suggests, and not a very responsible way for a company to do business by tricking the public/users into legally accepting the terms of a very lengthy agreement that almost no one will ever read, because people simply expect that “privacy” means privacy, and not that the policy is about ignoring privacy. If I am wrong about this, please correct me only with quotes from the written “privacy policy” and not just general remarks, which don’t override the actual written privacy policy/agreement..Version: 4.0.7

Keeping The World Honest30Oct2018 Uninstalled again. Even with today’s update it will not connect while others do. The gage only goes to 50MB but in Singapore live testing goes to 78/88 so the app crashes. Might consider a fix for that. The high rating from other users tells the story. Great app. I use it to check my wifi performance before starting anything. The app is right there in my start-up folder. My service provider could careless if I complain of slow connection times. But this app keeps a public record of service provider performance worldwide for everyone to see and compare. Market place performance reporting provided by this app is my insurance for good service. Many times the upload/download speed is just too slow for email or Facebook to work properly so I look for another connection that is faster. I can also check my previous readings to see if there is a better time of day to be logged on..Version: 4.0.9

No regards for privacy and permissionsThis app has found a way to keep running in background when you haven’t given it permission to refresh in background or also any other permission to share data of any sorts apart from giving it permission to collect data on the test done This app has absolutely lost my faith use to trust it Found out after the iOS 13.5 update how much data it was collecting in screen off time instant delete.Version: 4.2.3

Please fix Glitch - App rendered uselessUpdate: just checked my wife’s iPhone 7 Plus, also uses iOS 11.3.1. Same problem. Please remove this Privacy Page please! Thank You. I uninstalled app, shut down my iPhone X, then reinstalled the Speedtest app. I accepted the location and allowed data sharing. Again, when I tapped Done it keeps going back to the Privacy Page over and over. I’m about to head out on vacation for 10 days. I use this app the most when I’m traveling to ensure bandwidth integrity. When will you issue fix for iOS? Thank you. Ok, I have the paid version. I reviewed the new privacy policy. I tap next, then Done. Then it keeps going back to the “Welcome to Speedtest, Lets review your privacy options page with the giant padlock in the middle. What’s going on? I keep tapping Next, then Done over and over and it keeps going back the the privacy page. Please fix ASAP. Thank You..Version: 4.0.6

Speeds slowI feel like Ookla isn’t deciding to look over bugs because now it reads my wifi to be much slower on the app then it does on the web, all and all, I’ve been using the app to help me figure out what mobile network I want to go with however now that’s even showing slower speeds then the web. I hope Ookla see this and could have a look into the problem, I just cannot give it more then 2 starts with the current problem..Version: 5.0.4

Sometimes gets the job done. The app itself generally works well although hasn’t seen many new features for ages. The main issue I have is the poor quality of the servers..... some ping and throughout variance is to be expected, but, I often find if you’re testing from a high speed network the top speed reported varies wildly and often the reported results are seriously inaccurate. Other speed test providers provide higher quality servers/results and also single vs multithread throughout. It’s a shame as it used to be my go to app for speed tests..Version: 4.0.9

Hello Ads … goodbye Ookla. It’s useless and irrelevantWow… what a comedy of errors. This once brilliant app has now become useless. Don’t waste your time downloading this garbage. The interface has become lost in visual trash. After your speed test it may ask you about you phones performance which has nothing to do with your internet service providers performance. Fire everyone responsible for reducing this once very useful application into utter garbage..Version: 4.5.2

New features need some workThe video test on my iPhone 12 Pro Max (running iOS 14.5 Dev beta) causes the app to crash as soon as I run it. No issues on my iPad running the equivalent version of iPadOS. However, the results aren’t consistent. One result on WiFi and my maximum streaming resolution is 1080p (I get roughly 30-40ms ping, 10Mbps download and 5Mbps upload - thanks BT Openreach…). Yet when using 4G with lower latency (around 20ms), and MUCH higher download/upload - 150Mbps/20Mbps respectively, the maximum resolution is usually either 480p or 720p….Version: 4.3.1

Is there a problem with ios14 and Speedtest 4.2.7Having used the app for many years, in the past few weeks I've noticed strange behaviour when using it to test Wi-fi speeds. Where previously speed readings were stable and consistent, now I find low and fluctuating download speeds on Wi-fi. For example, where I used to get a stable reading of say 400mbs download, now most of the time I get reading as low as 24mbs, or readings that fluctuate from 150 down to as low as 4 mbs during a single test. Occasionally, I can get a stable reading of 400mbs. This happens on an iPhone X with iOS 14.0.2 and Speedtest 4.2.7 and an iPad Pro 12.9" 3rd gen and an iPhone XR with the same software. However, when I test with an older iPad mini 4 with iOS 12.1 and Speedtest 4.2.4, or an original iPhone SE iOS 12.4.1 and Speedtest 4.0.2, I get stable readings of high downloads, 250mbs for the iPad mini 4 and 90 mbs for the iPhone SE. I have also tested with an iPad mini 5 with iOS 14 and Speedtest 4.2.7 and get the same fluctuating often very low download speed. Testing using a direct LAN connection on the same network gives high and stable speeds using an Apple MacBook. Is there a problem with 4.2.7 and ios14?.Version: 4.2.7

The best speed test go to site, but...I've used this app since the iPhone 3. Back in the day the ads weren't so in your face like now. If you have an older device you might experience sluggishness because of the ads running during your speed test. Support has always been helpful but nothing really has changed much in 12 years which I consider useful...with the app that is. With the desktop version I can log into my account and see my speed test history. Can I do the same with the app? Nope. At best I can email myself the results as a CSV. I don't see much point using the VPN test mode even though I use a VPN. Doing so results in significantly slower speed results regardless of WAP. Many carriers and ISP’s don’t like it's when you use Ookla. Often they'll try to dispute the results in their favour. It's not keeping them honest. What it shows is how dishonest they can be. They usually steer you to another site that provides better, less accuracy or make an excuse for the poor speeds. Oh, the app is a ridiculous data hog. It's easy to chew up a gigabyte of data in minutes simply because the app uses large files. It’s no longer feasible to test my mobile carrier’s LTE data speeds because of this. In most of North America unlimited data remains a unicorn. As a result, only 2.5 stars..Version: 4.2.8

What a disappointmentI've just tried the "improved" version of what was my favourite speed tester. What a disappointment. The previous version had bold clear lettering with the results also in colour. Now the numbers are thin and "spidery" with the results far less clearer than before, especially for anyone whose eyesight is less than good. The extra features are of some interest and I expect it's as accurate as before, but why alter the appearance which was fine. Paul.Version: 4.0.0

Update doesn’t workThe privacy acceptance screen on startup doesn’t go away.Version: 4.0.6

I thought I was getting accurate results?Turns out their numbers were 100’s of mps off the next apps in the store on the same device, taken in the exact same spot, one moment after the next! How is that even possible? I had new internet installed today that is supposedly running over 600mps, speedtest repeatedly showed it running from 52-76mps, with an upload speed avg of 100mps. I was about to get very frustrated, over the course of the last hour taking pictures of the speed to have a conversation with the provider. How embarrassing that would’ve been had I not checked some other apps for verification of the speed..Version: 4.3.1

Doesn’t workFor me it doesn’t work at all. It says that my download is 30.4mbps and 13 upload mbps but I can’t even load a YouTube video..Version: 4.2.3

I paid for removing addsWhy am I seeing VPN adds . I paid to remove the adds again . Not impressed..Version: 4.2.10

How to lose customers by Ookla, a true story.Update a simple to use app by removing the one feature that allowed for accurate speed tests by only allowing those users to choose a test server if they pay an absolutely ridiculously high reoccurring price. The whole office is deleting your apps off their devices and laughing at this ridiculous Ookla update. A massive LOL when people saw what Ookla is asking people to pay. Can you say Marketing epic fail? Bye Ookla, you just scuttled your ship..Version: 4.1.17

New app hides most useful settingIn there typical effort to add more crap, they hid the test server, so now you have to go through extra effort to choose a test serve that can actually test your connection. I’ve used this app for years for work. Now more difficult and slow to use it. They have test servers that can’t actually fully test your speed. Since a new one came on board I have to chose a gooder one all the time. It’s kind of good this happened, as I was able to read the reviews that show how horrible their privacy is as they sell your personal data. It’s not even anonymous according to the ‘privacy’ policy. Sucks I need to move to another company..Version: 4.3.0

New version won’t runConstantly stuck on an introductory privacy policy screen. Worked fine until today’s update..Version: 4.0.6

Speed depends on deviceI like your app, but running it on certain devices (iPad 6 and iPhone XR) give much lower speeds than I receive with other speed testers. I tried your app on an iPhone SE (2nd generation) and it runs at the expected speed as does your app on an old MacBook Pro. There was a 60x speed difference between the iPad 6 and iPhone XR (which both got the same slow result), than I got running your software on all other devices. When I downloaded another speed tester to the iPhone XR and iPad 6 they tested the same as the other devices. So the problem seems to be your software running on these two devices. All devices are running the latest version of OS..Version: 4.3.2

Stopped working a few months agoUsed to be good. Now useless..Version: 4.2.3

New app brokenThe new app is broken. Stuck in a loop on privacy settings. Keeps opening the same page over and over “Lets review your privacy settings”. Was an app that worked really well and reliably for years. Your webpage makes it really difficult to email feedback. So I have no choice but to leave a poor review. Which is a shame as it’s a really good app..Version: 4.0.6

No More Peak ValuesLately, Ookla has been recording peak values and not average values. A peak value can happen 0.001% of the time and skew the real bandwidth available for use. The average bandwidth should be the recored/reportable value; this would be more representative of what is being received by the user..Version: 4.1.15
