✓ So much potentialReally good effort and with a few tweaks will easily be so much better... As well as what some of the others have said how about a pinch-zoom feature so you can view ben from a distance, could also include some of the actual background from the real big ben, even if just a photo for effect. ✓ Need some refinementsI use this app on my iPad2. I really enjoy it but would like to see a volume control added as well as the ability to delete the hourly dongs. Given the volume it becomes an annoyance in the later hours of the cycle. Oh, one other refinement: The ability to set the time of day for silent operation ( quiet it at night )..Version: 2.0

✓ Good but needs improvementIt’d be great if there could be an hourly option as well as the Westminster Quarters. Also the option to set alarms would be excellent too, at the moment I use this one in conjunction with the free one (which isn’t really acceptable since this is a paid version of the application). ✓ CarrieDid used to work wonderfully until I upgraded to iOS 15. I am officially impaired, the app was acting weird. The voiceover would always give me a vocal notification with the chime every quarter hour and every hour. It never did that before. I took the offer and reinstalled it. Now I have no sound and all notifications are on. I am very upset as I love this app. Please tell me what to do to fix it and I will change the rating.Version: 2.1.1

✓ Oh this could be so much more!!Never in the lifetime of the app store has something screamed out for an update as much as this one. This is a good thing because it shows that the basics are there... It just needs to be worked on and big time!! Day and night showing Proper sound chimes on the hour ( needs the proper actually big ben sound Wav) The odd pigeon flying past now and then Jet plane streaming across the sky in the background Clouds, stars, moon. God this could be a killer app don't forget an alarm! ( these always come out without that!!) ✓ So much potentialOverall the concept of having Big Ben on the iPhone is a great idea. The thing that let's this application down are the simple tweaks which could make it a 4/5 star piece of software. The background in line with current weather and day or night would be a nice touch. Also the chime on the quarter hour should be a simple addition. Finally, the sound quality is not great. Come on guys, you have done the ground work. A few tweaks and you will have a top app..Version: 0
✓ I have 2 suggestions and 1 concern.My First suggestion is that you add the chime train sounds and animation. The chime trains are the objects and gears that help the chimes and bells ring. If you need a better definition, then you will have to look up more stuff on that. My second suggestion is that the ticking does not sound quite authentic. Big Ben only ticks every other second. My other part of the suggestion is that the ticking should be a little bit softer, not quieter, just a little Bit more gentle, Because when I was listening to real videos on Big Ben, the ticking was a little bit softer. My concern is that, well, I have in iPhone for S upgraded to iOS 6 0 1 and the app still crashes. It has been doing that since I downloaded the app, which was probably months before the iOS 6 upgrade..Version: 2.0

✓ Novelty Toy only, not a tool.I needed to find a useful clock application that would chime or ring on the hour (with the number of bells corresponding to the hour), and would chime regardless of whether the iphone was currently awake or not (in much the same way the standard alarm wakes up the iphone when it goes off). Big Ben wasn't what I was looking for... it doesn't wake up to chime the hour. In other words a bit pointless unless you want to watch Big Ben ticking over the hour and listen to it chime - novelty value only..Version: 0

✓ It may be free but you wouldn't pay!It's basically a picture of big ben with moving hands. That bit works okay. As an iphone app it is only running if nothing else is so it doesn't give you very much. It won't bong on the hour if you are doing anything else as it needs to be in the foreground. It can do bongs on the hour and a clock ticking noise. The ticks don't sound like ticks as much as percussion. The bong doesn't sound like Big Ben and is a poor, noisy and distorted recording. There is a double bong effect I've not heard in the original. The digital display looks like an after thought or as though it was for debugging. Rubbish font and colour and no attempt to integrate into the image. They say it is free for a couple of days but there is no way you'd pay for this..Version: 0

✓ Would be nice if it worked …I installed this app just after iOS 15 was released, which knocked out an app, similar to this one, which I was using. When I installed this app, I discovered, to my chagrin, that it only worked when the app was displaying on the screen. If I went to another app, or if my screen locked, then Big Ben stopped working. Hoping there would be an update to the app, I didn’t delete it. The update came, approximately six months ago, but the same problems persist. I have Notifications turned on—including Sound—for the app, but it isn’t working. I’m running iOS 15.5. What’s the use of having an app that helps you keep track of time if it doesn’t operate in the background?.Version: 2.1.3
