✓ Different kind of word gameWhen there are so many word games out there that are basically different colored clones of eachother it is refreshing to find one that is so different from the rest. The letters piled in top of eachother that you have to carefully dig down through to play, the oriental music (so pretty and relaxing) and the daily character scores to beat all make this unique..Version: 1.5

And now that I've played it can voice the same reasoning in that its very polished and stable game with challenging game play (depending on how long you want to try to make your words). ✓ Brilliant!I love word games. I also love Shanghai Mahjong. Combining those two was brilliant. I have played this on the PC and it was loads of fun, so it was great to see this come out on the iPhone. ✓ My favorite word game.I'm a word dork; I'll admit it. I have several other word games, and this is, by far, my favorite. I played the PC version first, just to try it out, and had a great time. However, I was hesitant to buy a game that only had one puzzle per day, and no way to have a 'random' game. I took the plunge anyway, and don't regret it at all. You get one puzzle per day, every day of the year. Puzzles are easiest on mondays, harder on tuesdays, and so on until sunday, which are the hardest puzzles. In addition to the daily puzzles, there is an entire year of old puzzles to catch up on, so don't worry about only getting 1 per day. Playing the new puzzle daily is really great. JUST the right amount of time, and then you can play again the next day. If you don't know how to move mahjong pieces you won't have any difficulty playing. If you've never played mahjong, you might want to learn how the tiles move to avoid some frustration. Fantastic game!.Version: 0

✓ An enduringly fun game!I can come back to this game again and again and find it just as fun and challenging as ever. It surprisingly approachable by younger players too, although you have to be pretty clever to top the daily high score. One request, dear developers, make it fully iPad compatible... It's a beauty on the small screen, it would be stunning on the large screen. I happily play it on 2X mode, but the bombs don't work... At a minimum, fix the bombs for us iPad players. ✓ Addictive!Great game overall. Well thought out & slickly implemented. I love word games and Mahjong & this is the perfect amalgam of the two. Funny how some of the dictionary complaints from other reviewers mention words that should have been accepted, but they've just misspelled the word. I'm pretty sure it would have accepted "sergeant" if they hadn't spelled it "sargeant". Two things I'd like to see added are the ability to go back to old puzzles to see the words you used, and the capability to submit your words and scores online to compare against others, or at the very least just the scores. Having a true high score would be more of a challenge than the in-game high scores, which are ridiculously easy to beat..Version: 0

You guys need to load a larger or more sophisticated dictionary. It seems as if words are censored. 'Shat' a perfectly legitimate past tense is not recognized, as have been many other slightly obscure words. Very frustrating. Please look into the use of a larger dictionary..Version: 1.6

✓ Great Game, Great ServiceI have played WordJong for several years and it is a part of my daily routine. I just got an iPhone X and could not figure how to close the app after a game without a “home” button. It doesn’t swivel when the phone is moved from horizontal to vertical as do many other apps. I couldn’t figure out how to close the app and contacted their Support. They got right back to me and taught me about the “grey bar” that I can swipe from the bottom in either view. Regrettably other word games are now far better ... After all the awards have been collected, and the daily score consistently beaten each time - this word game gets a bit stale and is now played put of habit, to relax, rather than to thoroughly enjoy. There's a few words I've come across that aren't in the dictionary but it's not that big of a deal. ✓ My All Time Favorite Word Game!My husband and I both have WordJong on our iPhones, and enjoy not only beating the Masters, but beating each other. Here’s why we love this game… 1) It’s both stimulating and challenging. 2) It's professionally well thought out, and beautifully executed. 3) Everyone plays the exact same game each day - making it a level playing field if you want to play with others. 4) The Word List at game's end - makes it interesting to recall all the words you came up with. 5) The ability to go back and play past games from any date on the calendar makes for unlimited play. 6) The 'Praise' from the Master received after creating 9-letter words, and the Game Awards are a satisfying touch. What would we love to see in an update? When using the back button... it would be helpful to see the last word used displayed on the screen. Sometimes there is a need to go back several words for strategic purposes, and it can be hard to recall those previous words, and their order. Being able to recall previous words used would facilitate knowing when to stop hitting the back button. PS. I bought this game when it was full price - and I still feel it was good value!.Version: 0

✓ Who needs Channel 4's Countdown..?Extremely addictive and challenging game. Unlimited gameplay with a new puzzle everyday. Great for a quick play with endless word options and unlike many other word related games the dictionary is very extensive with almost every word entered recognised. ✓ Fun word puzzlerI REALLY like WordJong. I think if you like word games such as Scrabble and Boggle and you like puzzles, WordJong is a good fit. It's very impressive that Gameblend has developed an algorithm to create these puzzles for every day of the year. The Achilles Heel of having an algorithm do the job, however, is that the puzzles begin to feel rather "samey". Often, I am able to make the words "creatures" and "truculent" and "jeered" for several days in a row. Another consequence of the algorithm is that there aren't ever any truly difficult puzzles. If you have any kind of vocabulary, you will blow away the scores set out as benchmarks. Okay, enough with my complaining though. Despite these quibbles, I am compelled to play this game, so I have to give it four stars. Production value is excellent, and I enjoy trying to make as many 9 letter words in a row as possible. So I think if you can set aside the issues with difficulty level and compete more against yourself, you will really enjoy WordJong. It's also fun to play with friends and family members..Version: 0

✓ Love it!I love this app. I've been playing it for years. Initially got the freeware version but upgraded once I ran out of free games. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I can't get to the Saturday games if I don't manage to play them on the day they come out. Fortunately, I usually do get the opportunity to play daily so this isn't a real problem. I like the challenge. A more complete dictionary would be good, it's very frustrating when you get a great nine letter word only to find out it's not in this dictionary...! Also, a way to skip through the previous months puzzles more quickly would be appreciated... I'm currently half way through last September's puzzles, but the menu screen always takes me to the current month. This is only going to get more annoying as I get farther and farther back through the archive games and have to spend more time fiddling with flicking through the months....Version: 0
