Amazon Kindle for Positive User Reviews

Excellent with a few limitationsI use Kindle as an app (and also the original first device still working) a lot and have for years for both pleasure and research. It depends on the quality of its e-books but has generally encouraged standards much better than the early productions. A feature of the first Kindle was Collections. Very useful once your library gets large. Why is it not in the app? A bit of search by book type would be good too. I often highlight in research and also to mark pleasurable text, and I use search to cross refer as one turns back and forwards the pages of a book. (I fell in love with books as a child.) I read on iPad and computer and device, rarely on iPhone. But recently the notes feature has been morphed into flash cards which I think meets a US education need. It is a useful addition but frankly that’s what it should be. The loss of the simple notes feature in some versions is a bad backward step. I would also like page numbers as well as locations. Of course on Kindle it’s meaningless but not when working and reading across formats. Publishers routinely have a book they are converting to ePub. And why show us books we can sample but not buy? Well the answer is they don’t want to pay Apple commission..Version: 6.66

Best present ever receivedMy children bought me a kindle for my birthday over ten years ago. It hasn’t left my side since. I take it when I fly so. Airports and long trips are no longer mind bogglingly boring. I fall asleep reading every night and because I can increase the font size I don’t have to wear glasses to read at night. I read each meal time. I am a real book worm and I ant imagine what life would be like without my kindle..Version: 6.7

Loving having so many books to hand.I’ve had the Kindle app for some time now and can't say I’ve had too much of a problem. Although, for some obscure reason, it will often re-download books and show them as new. Reading new and favourite authors has never been so easy. That said I still love real books. Having the kindle app gives me the best of both worlds, kindle is particularly great for finding new authors. Unfortunately, for some reason, kindle now goes to the start of the book when I download it after reading the sample, whereas it used to start where the sample finished. One thing I wish it did do is to put books/samples in alphabetical order of authors in collections. It’s irritating having to have to look through a whole collection when looking for one particular author. Although I have lots of collections, some genre split into alphabetical groups, it would still be much better if I could put them in the alphabetical order of authors..Version: 6.74

Bug that needs fixing?I love my kindle for iPad and have been using it for years but since the new version installed a week ago I have a problem. When I have not read my book for a few hours and turn on the iPad to continue reading (particularly first time in the day) my iPad goes straight to cover of book and then will not let me go any further, whereas before it would go to a page of books. Allowing me to chose library. Now I have to reboot my iPad for it to work and then it is ok. Would this be a bug in this version. I have no other issues with the iPad..Version: 6.50

Simple Tools with Powerful ResultsThe Power of Meditation for ADHD is an invaluable resource for adults with ADHD seeking effective strategies to find inner calm and quiet their minds. As someone with ADHD, I found the tools presented in this book to be helpful and I’m excited to implement them into my daily routine. The book offers a diverse range of meditation techniques, each accompanied by clear instructions on when and how to apply them. The techniques are adaptable to various situations, providing a toolkit for managing ADHD symptoms in different contexts. I found value in the parenting chapter and I wish I had this book when my children were young. The insights and practical advice provided in this chapter are useful for parents or caregivers looking to introduce meditation to their children with ADHD. I know the feather technique would have helped my children! I recommend this book to anyone grappling with ADHD and searching for effective strategies to cultivate a sense of calm within their minds. This book equips readers with tools that are easy to implement, yet produce powerful results..Version: 6.81.1

Great Ap but hard to organize Library and Store Needs to filter books you have already read. This Ap is a great alternative to buying a second E-book reader to have to carry around. It makes reading on your phone much easier on your eyes because I don’t know about anyone else but there’s just something about Ibooks that hurts. But the Kindle unlimited store is the most frustrating experience, it constantly recommends and pushes books at you that you have already read and there is no way to filter out already read content. That would be a very handy feature. You can’t filter read from unread until it is in your library..Version: 6.54

Kindle audio on iPhoneSometimes I use ‘speak screen’ when I want to listen to my book being read to me. But, if I navigate away from kindle, the reading is interrupted; you have to stay on the kindle screen. Speak screen with iBooks works fine, it keeps on reading even if you navigate away from the screen. I like using kindle, would loved to see this improvement. Thank you..Version: 6.35

Keeps crashingTodays update has caused the app to crash each time I open it..Version: 6.60

KindleI much prefer to read on my Kindle than a book. I can decide what kind of font I like. I can choose how bright I would like the background. I can highlight anything. I can go to the built in dictionary to look up words. I never loose my page. I can go forward or back. I never have the glare of the sun on my page or the wind blowing my pages around. Best of all, books cost less on Kindle..Version: 6.35

Took me a LONG timeTo become an ebook user and ultimately a Kindle kween. I was one of many vp merch’s at that NY based bookseller during their heyday years. Quite frankly, I still purchase a few hundred used books each year as I’m a voracious reader and when I find something particularly fabulous via Kindle, I’ll often seek out a “real” copy for my library. Yay! The Kindle app allows me to go on vacation for a week, month or whole winter by just packing my IPad. Brilliant! I used to need to box up and lug boxes, (yes BOXES as I read 7-12 books a week), of books to support my vacationing pleasure. So, you haul an ATV or surfboard? I read at the open or close of my day! Finding a library or bookstore while on vacation is often a daunting task. As my students would say, it’s now “easy peasy”. I’m also a Prime member which gives me access to 1000 free titles each month across every genre and product type (magazine, graphic novel, kids books, games, etc.). Add that to online reading clubs like TheEReader, BookBub, FaithfulReader, GoodBooks, etc. and Kindle is the gateway to bibliophile Nirvana! Come, get your read on and Kindle!.Version: 6.8

I’ve got my library in my purse.I love the kindle app. No matter where I am I always have a book or magazine to read. I love that I can adjust the type to make it more readable and at night I use white type on a black background so that the light from the book isn’t overpowering. If you come across a person or word you are t familiar with all you have to do is put your finger on it and either the definition or the Wikipedia page comes up, then tap the upper left and you are back on your page. You can also highlight things and take notes. There are a lot of great books on kindle that are very inexpensive. My only complaint is that it’s difficult to categorize the books in the app. It can be done but I wish it was a matter of highlighting the title and dragging it over to the category. I’ve been able to get some of my books into categories but I never seem to remember what to tap and how to get the title where I want it. I’ve got hundreds of books so it’s a lot of work. Other than that I highly recommend this app,.Version: 6.70.1

Still needs fixing!I’m not sure if it was the Kindle App or an IOS Update, but around the turn of the year, either when Kindle was updated, or when the IOS System Update happened, the Accessibility option of turning Text to Speech (TtS) stopped working correctly. It would crash the TtS capability, or just stop working, or skip half a page or more, then continue. With the latest update, they seem to have fixed the crashing/quitting problem, but not the skipping half a page, or more. It will be reading along, correctly, and then skip 4 or 5 paragraphs. It is quite abrupt, and makes the TtS feature unusable, which is very disturbing to those who need that capability, and really inconvenient for those who used that feature of IOS to turn the Kindle App into the next best thing to Audible, and some books just aren’t available on Audible. Besides, it is a Safety Hazard, because you would have to keep an eye out that it hadn’t quit or skipped! But the main reason for fixing it is the commitment they have to the non-sighted community. It is a great disservice to them, from a feature that had been working fine, until the updates that happened early this year! Please return it to functionality!.Version: 6.4

Hunger gamesThis is my favourite book! Many don’t say you should judge a book by its cover, but in the kindle shop i was so much intrigued by the book and the story it held! I persuaded my mother to buy it and she gave in, with a click of a finger she had bought it. Snatching the kindle from her fingers, i raced upstairs to my bedroom where i could read in peace. It couldn’t have been more that 5 minutes when i declared i loved the book. I loved the pure thrill and suspense with the twist of hatred and romance and comedy. I was engulfed into the world of panem which i didn't want to escape! Spending hours reading and reading until i was so tired i could barely keep my eyes open! I went on an emotional rollercoaster throughout the while book. And i was so disappointed when it ended it nearly brought me to tears, but i couldn't have been more ecstatic when my mother told me that the hunger games was a trilogy! This was and forever will be the best book of all time!.Version: 6.41

Brilliant series ...I haven’t posted a review before very much, but I began to realise how unfair that is to the author of a work. I chanced upon this series after seeing a suggestion by a few others on a Reddit sub, I thought I would give it a go. It has been a very enjoyable, and very powerful read so far. Characters are extremely well drawn, from the first moment you meet them. Interestingly both women and men are written very well, not an easy thing to do. Story arcs are interesting. Obviously there is a main story which will be completed at the end of each book, and numerous sub-stories. But there is also an overreaching narrative arc, that is clearly spanning all the novels. I am only starting book 4, but it is getting very interesting watching the AI and how it is responding to the society changes it has brought about by relocating Joseph Kelso In summary, a big thank you to this author for his time and commitment to this series. It has reintroduced me to the joy of reading. I look forward to the rest of this series and other works to come..Version: 6.32

Great Application and resourceThis application provides access to so many books of every style imaginable. I use it on my iPad therefore my library goes where I go. The unlimited access to thousands of books through the Kindle Unlimited subscription has saved me lots of money and I have had the pleasure of finding so many new authors in Kindle and Kindle Unlimited. If you read as much as I do Kindle is the only way to go Highly Recommended.Version: 6.88.1

Love kindleI read every day sing Kindle. I used to read paper back, what a problem every time I finished a book I oud have to go to the book shop and hope they had what it wanted. Now I look on line and within minutes I have my next book. At less than half the price. I had a book case with over a 150 books, now I have kindle app on my iPad with over 300 books on it. It’s the best thing I have ever had..Version: 6.7

Pentecost and BeyondWhat I love about this book is the time to process the importance of the Holy Spirit in our lives. The author has arranged the content in perfect balance. There was information I knew but it was presented in a way that nourished and opened the door to new thoughts on the subject. Introducing “A Person” to the reader with such reverence made the encounter so personal and reflective , revealed the skill of the author. I finished the book last night and I am going to start it again today. The cover of the book is delightful too..Version: 6.42

Been using since Kindle began no problemsI am a long term user of kindle. It was the first truly successful e reader. I had searched for and tried other systems. Electronic publishing seemed inevitable and an excellent use of resources. I had a library full of books and was often on waiting lists at the public library. Our family fought over special books and were always losing them. When I found out one book could be read simultaneously by several family members I was hooked. We bought the special kindle readers for all four of us and then added the apps for phones tablets and computers. I have never had a problem managing my library with both free and purchased content. Kudos. Just hope the authors are getting a fair share. Editing at publishing houses is still important but publishers costs should be very much lower with no printing, no paper, no delivery costs. All ads are media driven. Lower production costs should mean lower prices without penalizing the author, maybe even increasing the payments. In summary, the kindle system has been efficient and bug free for me ever since it began. I still use kindles to read outdoors, and love always having my library with my phone when I am stuck somewhere and need to wait..Version: 6.8

Kindle Crushes ItThis is my favorite reading app, bar none. I read a LOT of books every year - novels, non-fiction, textbooks - and Kindle makes it easy and enjoyable. Easy scrolling for a continuous read flow, multiple colors for highlights, copy and paste functionality for notes that autopopulates the book citation, and adjustable text size, this app has it all. This app made me finally switch over to reading digital books over hardcopy..Version: 6.69.1

Kindle Books for older person.Great books both fiction and informative non fiction. Cheaper than actual books annd not presenting storage problems. I found the size of print and sepia backgroundd suited my eyesight. I can get free books and goodbooks cheaper. Having many books stored is better than physical book storage . Good books in shops often have font size I cannot handle..Version: 6.64

ConvenientI've found myself getting through books pretty fast and kindle is just incredibly convenient. Loving the experience so far. Would recommend some blue light glasses if you're reading off your phone / iPad or anything with harsh light.Version: 6.66

Latest UpdateHi there, love this app great for reading many fantastic books! Easy to buy and/or download. Unfortunately the latest update hasn’t worked for me - as the app now keeps crashing when I try to open it. Any suggestions please….it’s been 5 days without a book to read aaargh haha! Thanks!.Version: 6.48.1

Pls don’t write reviews for books here.Great app I love it, allows me to read on the go as well as download books so I don’t use my data. But from my understanding you can review books in the shop under the book title, that way the reviews show to someone think of purchasing said book rather than people thinking of downloading the app. Make the most out of your reviews and put them in the right place please..Version: 6.48.2

Easy on the handsKindle has been a savior for my love of reading, as weakness in my hands limits the reading I can do with a hardcover book or paperback. You can zoom in easy and determine how you want to read. Best of all, no problems with how many ebooks you buy, as storage is never an issue. I love the convenience of being able to read my ebooks on either my iPad, smartphone or computer and never losing your place in the book you are reading, even when reading the same ebook on different devices. Kindle is very versatile, whereas other ebook readers are not. Kindle is an incentive to read ebooks, as you can do your bit for Mother Nature and the environment, by reducing the need to cut down trees. Love the Kindle app..Version: 6.7

Can no longer search my libraryNew updates mean I can no longer search my library (those downloaded or available to download) but rather I have to scroll though multiple, multiple pages to find a book. Search functions only allow you to search for new books and even then, I can only get samples, your forced to open the app to buy. Less and less functionality, and seriously thinking of giving up kindle being my ebook depository..Version: 6.35

First time user. After all these years hearing about Kindle & how good it was, but I never thought of using it, until I come across it by accident. Being from the old school of thought, “I need the book in my hands”, how wrong was I. Yes the feel of a book still excites me, that feeling you get at the end of the final chapter, when the bond of a book is drawing to a close for the last time. However, being able to access my current read from virtually anywhere has excited me also. Ok you don’t have this piece of art in your hands, but if you change your mindset a little and open up to this great technology you will still feel the love and that bond. It’s the story and what’s behind the story is really what you bonding with right. To have that deep connection with your story, it doesn’t really matter how you read it, as long as you still get what’s intended and for me, knowledge, expansion of ones mind, love and compassion of the world, the people and things in it. kindle gives me more opportunity than ever before to experience this this great value of life..Version: 6.14

Another hit by the dynamic duoHere we have another funny, romantic, absolutely charming story from the partnership of MacLeod and Markinson. It’s an “opening the first page, then unable to put down” book, that keeps you thoroughly engaged from start to finish. It has all you want in a light hearted romance with an intriguing plot. Starting with a “hook-up” at a wedding, an outstanding, (for those of us who adore reading about them and who doesn’t), Ice Queen and an inspiring young tv reporter on the brink of a new career, this delightful book grabs your attention right away. Oh, and there’s backstabbing and a surprise twist. The plot also highlights some pertinent aspects of society and broadcasting, even though it’s the 2020’s. You’ll love the two protagonists, as they manoeuvre their way through this new found love. To top it all off, there’s a dog and a cat that almost “steal the show”..Version: 6.46

Greatest Reading Option Ever!!I have “borrowed” several books using this app and I could not be happier. What a great way to have access to tons of fantastic books without spending a lot of money on books you may not want to read again. Or how about checking out new genres that you think you might like but haven’t had an easy way to do it. Or being able to read books across devices? Load a book on your phone, your iPhone, your tablet, your iPad, your pc; any or all of them. You are usually carrying one of these around with you anyway. Just like the library but right at your fingertips! There is a trial period. So I would say check it out. Got 5 minutes, 30 minutes, an hour? Read anytime, anywhere. Please don’t get me wrong. I love books, actual books: the feel of them in my hands; turning pages; the scent of paper and ink and bindings; the history of time and the people who read the exact book I am holding; the entire tactile act of reading an actual book. This is but an option. And a very good one! So if your life is busy and your time is limited, waiting in a doctor’s office, sitting on a bus, in line picking up the kids at school…anywhere…anytime… Read a Book!.Version: 6.46

KindleI’m enjoying this app as I can take the books I enjoy with me as long as I have my phone with me ( which in this day and age is everywhere) I love the audio aspect too as when I’m tired and can’t be bothered reading , I can listen and enjoy these great stories and wisdom. My fav is the bible and daily reading..Version: 6.46

I'm an old school book lover who loves KindleAs long as I can remember, I was always reading at least one book at all times. Usually I would have two going. I had no desire to give up my beloved books and start reading on a Kindle. But when my eye sight wasn't perfect anymore it became less and less practical to avoid it. Good lighting became an issue, and if for no other reason, the Kindle app on my iPad and iPhone has given me the back the ability to pick up and read whenever the urge or a few extra minutes presents itself. The ability to have so much reading material on hand is the cherry on top. And as much as I love spending hours in a book store, there just aren't the kind of book stores around that there used to be. So being able to buy most titles I'm interested in with the touch of a button makes me even happier. I still read books when I can, but far more often I read on the kindle app. This is time spent reading that I would be missing out on. I think it's the greatest thing, and it's by far my most used app..Version: 6.7

Updated 8/2 Fixed :) - Need to reinstall & restartIt took over a month but thank you. So far my app is working again. Back to 5 stars! I recommend if you have an IOS device to uninstall and reinstall. I also restarted my device. It didn’t work until I did all that. I can now access without having to use my browser. Kindle has always been my go to with unlimited, prime and magazines right there! My frustration is over. Please don’t let that happen again :) please be more diligent if it doesn’t work for IOS users, I use mine all the time. (Previous) Been patient since last update, App keeps crashing on iPhone when opening. I pay for unlimited and it’s really upsetting that I can’t even open the app. I get that updates aren’t always great but a lot have left reviews about crashing and not being able to open. Take your reviews serious. Normally it’s my go to because I pay for unlimited, need to rethink that if this doesn’t get fixed quickly. I’m paying for books I can’t access. Disappointing, and that’s being rather nice right now..Version: 6.63

Please fix end-of-page highlighting & Notebook font sizeHey Kindle dev team! You guys have done a fantastic job here. Love the app, and have used it to read and highlight hundreds of books. It works nearly flawlessly, except for two things: 1) When you want to highlight text that extends beyond the end of the page, the cursor either sits at the bottom of the page and does nothing, or it jumps ahead and highlights the next page or three. You guys have elegant solutions for this on the Kindle devices (it automatically highlights the rest of the sentence on the next page) and also with hyphenated words (it highlights the rest of the word on the next page). iBooks also just highlights the next word on the next page. Any of these solutions would be preferable to the haphazard way the highligting feature works right now. 2) In the Notebook for highlights, the font is teeny tiny headache-inducingly minuscule. Would it be possible to either make the default font bigger, or to have a font size adjustment feature like in the main text? That would be amazing! Thanks for your attention!.Version: 6.29.1

Kindle app on iPhone for visually impairedThe iPhone Speak Screen option in Accessibility settlers allowed me to read a book in The iPhone Kindle app. This may not sound very significant but I am visually impaired (registered blind) and had great pleasure listening to a book being read to me with the Speak Screen option. Speak Screen goes across pages and it turns the page so you can actually see where you are, as well as continuing to read until you ask it to pause or stop. It has been many, many years since I read a book and I am so excited at the new opportunities Kindle is offering with this option on the iPhone..Version: 6.13.1

Amazing reading appsI would like to suggest these improvement 1. Add Vietnamese to the translation list. Currently there’s no English-Vietnamese in the translation when user selects a word. 2. The flash card is really useful for English learner. Is it possible that when user select a word, he can create a flash card with the selected word and its definition by default? 3. Can we enable wordwise for iOS?.Version: 6.10

KindleI enjoy using kindle it is a convenient and easy way to find and read all types of material whether fictional or non fiction. Often find that digital works are cheaper than hard copy. I am a regular user and find the recommendations often helpful when looking for further reading. I would recommend it to anyone carrying a digital device who likes reading in their spare moments. It beats carrying around an armload of books!.Version: 6.8

Better than a real kindleThis app is awesome! I have it on my phone, iPad and Mac. I also have a kindle. I read a lot of technical books which I like to note. On a big screen phone or iPad, you can see as much if not more text than on a kindle device. Also, the app is much quicker at page turning than the kindle device. Getting to contents pages is much quicker with the app. In fact anything you can do on a kindle seems to be done quicker and better on a phone or tablet. It sort of begs the question why you would use a kindle. Well, I guess I like my kindle because I can read it in full sunshine with my shades on. I’d rather take my kindle to the beach than my iPad. It is easier to carry a kindle around in a jacket pocket than an iPad on your commute on a busy bus or underground carriage. But, with the bigger iPhones available. I think the advantage for the commute is greatly diminished..Version: 6.37

Accessibility and technology working togetherRecently I’ve experienced the ease of borrowing reading matter from my local library - and reading in my phone and on the run. This has a number of positive spin-offs. Firstly I can purchase books at a fraction of the price. Secondly, reading this way is very economical time-wise; and the immediacy electronic buyers enjoy means I have access to almost any kind of literature days after the title’s been posted online (generally) only days after publication. I’m so grateful for this ingenious facility the libraries have spawned because having the system work well has resulted in all of us being able to indulge our passion for the written word. Barbara.Version: 6.69.1

Some more functions plzI love Kindle overall. Two of my favorite and handy functions are the dictionary and the sync to Audible! I wonder if Kindle could develop three of the following functions: one, organizing all the notes from one book at one place to allow readers to refer back to their highlights and notes to retrieve some reading memory. There can be list of books that we have read and then we just need to click to each book to review all the notes we made. The second is what I want the most, which is to allow readers to write the notes in a more user friendly way. We wouldn’t need to high light certain part of the book to type our thoughts down. The third, I wonder if there could be a button with iso phone or iPad system where people can save the searches word to a place so that readers like me can review the words more time efficiently and expand my vocabulary in the long run. Not sure if this review will be read and suggestions considered, but I do wish Kindle can keep developing and improving. You guys already did a fantastic job. All the best!.Version: 6.72

Aged Reading. As a child I was taught to look after books and I did, no folding corners of pages as a way of marking when I stopped reading until the next time or folding front and rear covers right back and in doing so damaging the spine. I enjoyed and still do going into the library and picking up books because of the cover or the author so the concept of reading from an electronic device was a little strange to say the least. Now I find that I can store a number of books on my Kindle app, read in the middle of the night without turning on a light and disturbing my wife. What I don’t miss is bringing back an armful of library books and finding I have read them before. Long may Kindle remain..Version: 6.61

Perfect companion!I love my kindle for many reasons, the convenience of its size, the amount of books you can store on it, the wide choice of kindle books available but mostly because it’s so much easier to hold than “normal books”. If you’re an avid reader there’s no need to pack heavy books when going on holiday you have a whole library contained in a pocket size book. I often hear people say that it’s not like reading a proper book and they would miss the actual page turning, well you still turn pages on your kindle so what’s the difference? I have owned 3 types of kindle and if anything happened to my current one there would be no hesitation about replacing it, I don’t think I could live without one now..Version: 6.8

Good but...I use screen reader to listen to kindle Ebooks but there’s an issue in the software that makes this difficult. Kindle won’t turn the page if the device is turned off. I emailed kindle and was told this is due to a battery saving feature on iPads. I don’t believe this is true as the iBooks app reads fine when my iPad is off. And it’s kind of illogical as wouldn’t keeping my iPad on chew up power? I’m very disappointed by this. I suppose it won’t affect many other users, but it’s significant for me. I listen to a lot of kindle books at night and I can’t do this with my iPad on. It’s a pity as it’s spoiled an otherwise excellent app. My iPhone had the same issue however it wasn’t much of a problem as my phone was small and stayed on when I closed the case..Version: 6.30.1

If only...Your app has improved over time. That is good. But one major issue I have is the fact that, when writing notes where sections are highlighted and I have to leave the app for whatever reason, if the “SAVE” button isn’t pushed I loose ALL of the previous entry. What a terrible waste of time and effort!! Why can’t the text entry remain in place and be there right where I left off? Or, if that seems to impossible to do, why isn’t there a simple auto save? That is ultra simple logic. This issue is extremely frustrating! This seems so intuitive that it’s hard to imagine why it wasn’t addressed right from the start of note taking design, or at least why it hasn’t been dealt with yet. So basic that it just doesn’t make any sense!! UPDATED: Quite seriously?!?! While writing another note, I wanted to reference another app in order to more fully expound on a specific thought related to a passage in a book I was reading on Kindle. I switched apps for only a second. ONE SECOND! And a paragraph I had written evaporated just like that! GONE!!!!! Good grief how obnoxious!!!!! This lack of basic, intuitive feature alone deserves 2 STARS!! Fix it and boom! 5 stars!.Version: 6.34

I was a hard core book fan, I am converted...At 57 years old I seriously resisted the whole Kindle book thing. I wanted that book in my hands. One night I read an intro to a book online (actually it was like two chapters!) I was sucked in I had to read immediately and finish and it said there was a Kindle App for I phone so I took a chance. Stayed up all night reading the book till the end. The kindle version cost much less than a print, it was instant gratification, but more importantly I didn’t have to fiddle with a book light charging it, changing the pages AND my hands/arms were not nearly as tired holding up my phone which came with its own light! Holding up a book, especially the bigger ones can be a drain when you are reading hours and hours. Highly recommend! I’m still a little sorry I don’t have a hard copy in my library but my bookshelves are full anyway, so... I recommend trying the app! Plus you don’t have to remember to grab your book, it’s always with you. Unexpectedly waiting at the doctors office boom there it is..Version: 6.69

Light ReadingForgive the pun, but I bought ebooks for three reasons, one to save carrying a load of books while travelling, I love to read but paperbacks weigh too much, two I found I bought the same book several times at the airport as they changed cover frequently ( kindle tells you if you have purchased before) and finally I can read in bed without disturbing my wife as no lights required if you have a backlit reader. Why do I like kindle, book selection is great, value for money ( usually, but don’t pre-purchase as carries 100% premium!) and delivers promptly. Further, text is clear, adjustable and choice to scroll or page turn. I need no more. What the industry needs is for books to exploit the reader, interactive maps, link to references etc. But perhaps that may destroy the read and absorption with your favourite authors !.Version: 6.56

Kindle review. This is for me an essential part of going on holiday, taking my IPad which has had the Kindle app installed ever since I bought the IPad. I have always taken several books on holiday to read and share with my wife, but books take up too much of the weight allowance, so we usually left the books at our hotel etc. Good for the hotel, but not if you take into account the cost of books, and occasionally I like to reread some books at a later date. Also whatever you take you have to read, even if the book turns out not to be the page turner you hoped from reading the back cover, or the reputation of the author. With a Kindle app, I can take all of my library (cloud), with me with very little extra weight. 10/10...Version: 6.7

Great but not great for children’s picture booksMy daughter and I enjoy reading books on the iPad. Given the astounding artwork that goes into some of these books, I have always found the Kindle App to be glitchy. Some books allow you to zoom in and see more detail. Other books allow you to magnify the words you are reading ... but not all. I don’t know why the functionality of some books is different to others. The pictures in some books are remarkably low resolution. Others present you with wide blank unloaded areas despite already having downloaded the book. You often have to flick back and forth to make these areas visible again. Some books crash the app when you try to zoom in. A combination of these factors disrupts the reading experience considerably. Can’t fault the App for books without images though..Version: 6.42

Been ‘Kindled’ since the beginningTo say I love reading is a vast understatement, the equivalent of saying I love breathing. For years I was reliant on Library books with the occasional new paperback. But as I grew older and had more ‘leisure’ both in time and money I began to buy books for myself when they were released. Which is fine but takes up space. Especially as I (like Oscar Wilde) believe that any book worth reading once is certainly worth reading again. So my home began to acquire the look of a small library. Then came Kindle. Quite small at first, not every book that I liked was available. But all the new ones were. And bit by bit older books started to be added that could only otherwise be re-read in tatty second-hand editions (libraries having long since stopped stocking any ‘old’ books in favour of PC new ones). It’s grown and expanded and I love it just as much. Even better, you don’t even need a dedicated device now, you can download a kindle app for free onto any device at all. Which means you’ve got something to read wherever you are, whenever you need it. I can only say if you haven’t already, try it NOW.Version: 6.10

Book galoreHaving always been an avid reader, over the years I have acquired a hefty stock of paper and hardbacks. My daughters bought me a Kindle for my 60th, years and years no years ago. Inspite of the love of the feel and smell of a book, I have become a firm fan. Although my Kindle is over a decade old, it still gives good service, a novelty in this day and age of built in redundancy. I now share my daughter’s library through Kindle prime and sharing a similar taste in history, politics and biography it’s great to read books almost simultaneously and discuss in detail. The Kindle app means I can read a book on any one of three electronic devices, anywhere and pick up where I left off on all of them. I can store or dispose of books without the use of space of the wrench of physically parting with them. Get one now !.Version: 6.49

Page turn animationI love my kindle on all devices. However I have two peeves. Whatever happened to the cool page animation? I was mighty impressed with how realistic the page turning was when kindle for iPhone first arrived. I find the page slider more difficult to use. Also Audible and Kindle don’t sync automatically to where you left off on the last online device. Frustrating when it takes you back to a previous spot you’d already read on Audible. It really needs to be automatic rather than having to do something to sync.Version: 6.42

Overall good but…Kindle app is a great reader. However, it contains some extra features which would be AMAZING if they would develop them just a bit further so they could be put to more practical and more productive use. Kindle reader app for me, is more than just a reader like a little kindle device. It’s a productivity and learning tool and with a few little enhancements could be amazingly useful for that. Anyway, updated features are long overdue. 1. It would sure be nice if the highlights had major customizability (best) or at the very least, more color choices. As I’ve expanded my use of them, I have developed a system of highlights that act visual cues for myself for future reference. I have more ideas but the extremely limited choice of colors is frustrating that. 2. The flashcards feature works in a confusing and non-logical way. If I wanted to use the already existing ability to have highlights become flashcards, it only fills one side of the flashcard. It would be better if one could do something like allow me to choose to put adjoining highlights as a pair, the first on the front and the second second on the back. Then I could make flashcards from premises and conclusions in a book. I think that would get a lot of use from people like me who teach. 3. It would sure be helpful if I could select text across a page break with one selection rather than two separate selections. 4. Perhaps an option to read by vertically scrolling text would help with #3?.Version: 6.72

Easy readingI absolutely love the kindle app, I think the integration with Prime reading really makes it feel like a little library inside my phone! When I’m going on long journeys I enjoy reading on my kindle and am always pleasantly surprised that it’s kept track of where I’m reading on my phone. It has lots of settings which I like to save for different times such as bedtime (darker background, dimmer lighting) or when I have a headache and can’t focus as well (dimmer screen, larger text). It’s also amazing that you can use a coloured screen which has been shown to make reading easier for people who struggle with dyslexia. As a parent I pick up and put down a lot and always loose my place in a paper book, now I don’t have that trouble. Thank you for allowing me to read my books with ease!.Version: 6.43

My Favorite Reading AppI love the Kindle app. I am an avid reader, and have three reading apps. I have iBooks and the Barnes and Noble app called Nook along with Kindle. Of the three apps, I find I like the Kindle app the best because it is the most intuitive. It is the easiest to annotate i.e., highlighting, entering notations (which I frequently do when I look up the definition of a word I’m unfamiliar with), and determining where you are in the book or how much more time it will take to finish a chapter. The new feature of zooming out and flipping through pages is really helpful too as well as the ability to tap the icon that will return you to your previous location. The three things I would consider improving are: 1) when I’m reading with the screen brightness turned down because I’m reading in the dark, when I look up a definition of a word, the print is so small and dim that I can’t see it. I then have to get out of the definition, increase the brightness, and go back and highlight the word and look up the definition again; 2) sometimes the dictionary isn’t available and when I am told to download it, it won’t download, and 3) I really wish it had more colors available for highlighting the text..Version: 6.3.1

My Quality Of Life!!!!At the end of 1981 I contracted what I thought was a chronic pain syndrome in my right forearm & by ‘82 both arms, & I was told by various members of the medical fraternity that rest would see it go away. I had to stop playing guitar, my source of income. Oh & I increasingly had trouble doing anything with my arms & hands which of course included holding books & I’ve always been a voracious reader. It has never gone away but fortunately I was a very good singer & made my living singing in bands & as a session singer, recording & backing other singers. Reading remained a problem until I discovered “Kindle” & Ebooks & Ive never looked back as far as reading goes..Version: 6.22

Reading made easyApp is great for reading comics. Comes with some quality of life improvement such as zooming into each scene and just being able to scroll onto the next rather than reading in full page mode on a small screen..Version: 6.80

Add notes is clumsyI can see that recently there has been a change in the notes pop-up. The new design is not practical. First, there is no quick access to any buttons. As a result, you need to tap on the 3 vertical dots to bring out the menu. Second, it is definitely a TWO hand operation!!! It is painful, really. Third, when you are finished writing or editing a note, the only way to close it is by tapping the ‘X’ button on top right. Again, it forces me to use two hands or two hand gymnastics to close the notes pop-up. Please address this design issues..Version: 7.0

Love the appAs someone who has read as a kid along with my family, it has been amazing! It’s perfect for family accounts, how you can access the account from many different devices, also that you can access all the books you have bought on the account from all devices, so you can read your book on someone else’s device, logging on to new devices is easy and simple and buying books online instead of on paper is so much cheaper and less hassle as they’re completely portable. It’s great that everyone can be reading on the same account but so many books at one time, I currently use the kindle app on my phone, iPad and Kindle and love that it syncs my place in the book so I can easily swap between devices without having to skip forwards. There is a great range of text fonts and sizes and I haven't come across any major problems with the app or Kindle device after using it for almost a decade, and I will continue to read with it in the future..Version: 6.61

Awesome AppSo convenient to be able to read my book from my phone. Love reading actual books, but there’s something about having screen lighting and an inbuilt dictionary that makes reading easier..Version: 6.85.1

A must read!A painful and woeful story into our inadequate care system. Paul Connelly, abandoned at a very young age and enters the St Leonard’s children’s home at aged eight years of age. From where he gives a harrowing account of the systematic child abuse he suffered. The book is unabridged and some readers may find it quite graphically disturbing in parts? However, extremely well documented and written. It left me somewhat angry at a system which has turned a blind eye at child abuse for so many years. Did they never read anything by Dickens? And take on board what he was saying? How could this have happened so recently? Made all the more disturbing when the perpetrators walk free! I couldn’t put this book down, extremely glad that Paul was able to turn his life around and I say a big, ‘well done’ to him for the courage it has taken him to face his past and write this excellent documentation of it..Version: 6.24

Good but has opportunity for improvementI have been using the Kindle App on my iPhone and iPad for a few years now and like it much better than a Kindle eReader. One thing that irritates me with the App is the time it remains on the opening screen if there is a new book/a to be downloaded. Thought it could handle it much better by allowing me the opportunity to do so rather than holding me up at the start. Also, the ability to set up collections is good. Is it possible to make a selection as and when I acquire a new book please? Keep up the good work..Version: 6.10

Best app everI got this app 3 days ago and I’m obsessed with it it was so many books and they are so fun try on ipad.Version: 6.69.1

Fantastic book , looking insight for insights to higher level of a consciousness then this it.More than just a great book for anyone out there feeling demoralised and experiencing the disharmony due to existing and escalating chaos on a personal level be it emotionally , mental , physical and all that is going on out there around the planet at large in this point in time . This books contains insight and instructions on more levels than just the intellect to not only make sense of this chaos , why it is what it is , how to navigate this and brings with great detail all the subversive plans , who and why are trying to fix chaos and enslavement for us all ..Version: 6.26

Enhancement suggestionsI really like the kindle app and am an avid reader. With that said there a number of enhancements that I would like to see. I have had 4 different kindles (keyboard, touch, paper white, and oasis) and an early Sony E reader. I read primarily on my iPad. Although the dictionary and highlighting are occasionally helpful. It would be nice to have a user setting to turn this off so I don’t constantly have this show up because my hand slips when holding my tablet. I still think you need a better collection hierarchy. I have 3000+ books in my library and it would be nice to organize by author or genre and then have one or more specific levels. Some authors write romance, mystery, and paranormal. This should not be too hard with the database capabilities available. It would also be nice if there was an easier way to add multiple books to a collection. A setting to automatically remove a downloaded book after completion would also be helpful. Just a few ideas. I have a current big investment in kindle but if somebody else has a good library organization capability I might move on since this is really holding things back. With hard copy books I can organize my shelves how I want, electronic organization should be even easier..Version: 6.22

Worst thing about it is caused by AppleThis has everything I want from an e-reader and more. I love the times when I’ve finished a book from a new author, or started a new series that blows my mind and leaves me wanting the next one - and I can start reading the next one in seconds! It’s great living here in the future. The app has all the benefits of an e-reader. I can adjust the font size, screen brightness, which font the book uses, the number of columns and many other variables. I can annotate the book, highlight passages, report typographical errors, immediately look up dictionary definitions, encyclopaedia articles, translations and pictures. It’s annoying that I have to go to Amazon’s website to by a book rather than buying it through the app, but given the “Apple tax” for doing it that way, it’s worth it..Version: 6.34

I love this appThe Kindle app has been a mainstay on my iPhone. Works perfectly. The only downside is that you still can’t shop for books directly through the app but rather have to purchase via Amazon..Version: 6.3.1

KindlePaperwhite gen 10. I am a total bibliophile and have hundreds of books and adore reading. The needle that broke the camels back was going to the states with my husband and 8 heavy books. My next birthday I received a Kindle (2010) from him. It stayed in its box as I refused to fall into this digital forgery. Three months later I ended up in hospital and asked my husband to bring in some books for me to read. He brought in my Kindle. I had no choice but to use it and I have to be honest I loved it. I realised I could have hundreds of books at my finger tips and because a lot of them are cheaper you can trial and remove if no likely. I have had three now and my Gen 10 is the best. You can read in the bath. No more wet soggy books! Please don’t get me wrong it does not replace books (I still have hundreds and still buying many monthly) but it’s not intended to. It’s to be more convenient to you..Version: 6.30.2

Best app ever if you have a kindleNever be bored again. Anytime you have your phone, you have your book with you. The app will keep track of where you are up to in your book on your kindle and the kindle keeps track of where you are on your phone. Doctor running late? Train running late? You can always read. The only criticism is that sometimes the sync between the app and the phone doesn’t work. Mostly if you select sync devices it will catch up but occasionally you need to manually find where you are up to.Version: 6.38

HighlightingI have been a kindle app user for many years. There have been improvements to the app that have kept me as a loyal user. Here’s one request I have (and I know it’s an atypical request and it may not ever be fixed but it’s worth asking): I browse titles, download samples, read samples, and naturally highlight and make notes as I read, whether the book is a sample or owned by me; if I like a book and want to read the full book, then I proceed to purchase it; the problem for me (and maybe no one else?) is when I purchase a book, my notes and highlights get deleted because the sample book is removed from my library and replaced with a full copy; but how can I transfer the highlights and notes? Is there a way, and if not, then can I keep the sample as well? The only workaround I can think of is to copy and paste to a document or to screen capture my notes and highlights to transfer to maintain a copy of them. These are tedious workarounds, and would love a solution. Yes, someone might ask, But why are you highlighting and making notes on a sample book? To which my response is, if I’m really into a book, I tend to make notes and highlights which means I will in turn want a full copy, which means I’m losing out on my notes and the moment I had going with the sample copy. This isn’t a high priority request, but would love an alternate workaround or solution. Thanks!.Version: 6.30

My portable libraryI have a kindle paperwhite and to be honest I don’t ever want to live my life without it. If you have a love for books it won’t replace that feeling of flipping the page, the smell of the paper or the weight in your hand. However if you devour books in a speed like I do, you will love the kindle. Just because it’s like having the library without worrying were you need to place the all the books that accumulated. No longer having to choose which book(s) to take with you when travelling or making room to bring books back with you from your travels. Battery last amazingly long and charging goes fast enough. And if all that fails there’s the app you can put on your phone. Perfect for waitingrooms to speed up time with reading something you actually like instead of grabbing a magazine usually present in those environments. Treat yourself you won’t regret it!.Version: 6.82

Never thought I’d enjoy reading a Kindle—how little I know myself. As I grow older, I find my sleeping habits changing. I often wake up around 2:00am and simply take out my Kindle reading myself back to sleep. I could not do this we’re it a book. One would have to use a light which would disturb my husband’s sleep. As I wear glasses I’d be uncomfortable with one of those neck/head lights one can buy and possibly never fall asleep again. Now the best part of the Kindle is when reading any vocabulary one is not familiar with one can tap on it and a definition supplied there and then. If not enough one can simply go online and find the meaning, see the item and thus enrich one’s own vocabulary and knowledge base. The other aspect of Kindle I love is the number of books one can carry, almost weightlessly when traveling. If I feel like reading something serious, I can. Should I become bored I can immediately find something else. No need to try and find an English bookstore in say Romania simply click on one’s saved library and enjoy. I have around 200 books on my Kindle thus my library is in my handbag—what could be better? No bulky, heavy book to burden me, no confinement to that book—talk about freedom..Version: 6.10

Forces one to view disgusting pornographic books on the Home ScreenThere is there is no way to turn off the Kindle “Top reads in Prime reading” section which includes many books with unacceptable pictures, and disgusting titles, which I totally disagree with. Yet I am forced to look at them every single time I open the Kindle app and see the Home Screen. This is not acceptable it did not used to be this way I never would have started using Kindle. There needs to be a way to turn off the top reads section for those of us who do not wish to view this objectionable material. Customer support was no help. They kept asking me to change my own recommendations, which does nothing at all to change the Top Reads section. I got the same incorrect reply five different times from customer support. I am totally disgusted. At this point. I’m very upset that Kindle could force me to see things that I do not wish to see after I already purchased so many books. Originally, this was a five star app, but I am changing my review to one star because this issue was completely and totally unacceptable. Kindle needs to fix it immediately..Version: 6.87

Love my Kindle AppI love my Kindle App. Easy to navigate and book selection is amazing. Their suggested books based on my reading, have not failed me, as long as I remember what I have read through the Unlimited option. My reading insight and tracking goals is so fun! Kindle Unlimited is the best! I use it all the time. I have found a few issues with the Unlimited program and can’t find a place to voice them so here it goes ( and the reason for 4/5 stars) once finished with an Unlimited book it’s taken out of your library. there is no history of you reading it when in kindle store. Updated book covers don’t help this issue. There has been several books rechecked out and only after reading a few chapters do I remember, I have already read this! Also if you have read a box set of books, you will still find single editions constantly in your email suggestions and home page suggestions. I would love to be able to void or hide these books from my kindle store home page..Version: 6.35

I love booksI have a small house and I only have so much room, much of it filled with bookshelves and books. Until I win several million dollars my library space will be limited. The kindle let’s me have a pile of books but just the weight of a paperback. I was sceptical until I tried it. After my first book on kindle there was no turning back. I love being on the bus and reading one book. Finishing it and starting a new one without the weight of 2 books. I think I own over a thousand books right now so not having any more physical books (maybe a few) is a huge step towards not loading myself down. Books in their native form are wonderful and the kindle is too..Version: 6.38.1

So many books so little time!I enjoy my Kindle app so much! I use it everyday, even for my assigned reading for school. My problem is with the Kindle Vela which is accessible on the app as well. That’s on reason why I didn’t give this app five stars. On Kindle Vella, you can read stories in episodes or chapters. You pay coins for new episodes. Problem is that some authors don’t finish their stories. So here I’ve spend a lot of coins on a story that doesn’t proceed after say 49 episodes and another one that stoped at 360 episodes. It’s ridiculous that these authors can get a way with out finishing their stories after readers have spent coins to read their stories. I also have Kindle Unlimited. That’s where you pay a monthly fee of $5 I think and you can check out books that you return later. I’ve noticed though, after using my sister’s actual Kindle, that books that are only offered to KU on the app are offered for both KU and for purchase in the Kindle. It bothers me because my KU library is usually filled to capacity (20 books I think) but I see a book I want to read immediately but I can’t purchase it on the app but I can if I had an actual Kindle..Version: 6.77.1

Crew !Let me start by saying that I’m not good at reviews. However, this story reminded me so much of the fallen crest series but in a good way. It was similar to that series but now we’re getting the view from the other side of the track. It was a well written book and shows the heroine struggles with dealing her life and that of her crew. She wasn’t just a strong person but was able to be open and honest about her feeling and that made for a good connection between her and cross. The love the other characters in the book and the story not only focused on one person but also events in everyone lives. Heather being in the story was absolutely wonderful and I’m excited that they’ll be a book for her. Can’t wait to read the next in the series..Version: 6.10

App keeps closingI did love this app up until yesterday now every time I open it it closes so it’s unusable. I have a lot of books that I purchased so to say the least I’m not happy right now..Version: 6.64

My Lockdown SaviorIt is exceedingly rare for me to find a book that grabs me right from the very beginning. I actually find reading very hard because of certain developmental and learning difficulties. However this one had me hook, line, and sinker from the very beginning. I am currently on Chapter 4 (I think) and I have a favourite competitor aside from Tobias. Ma only struggle is what accents they have. So far it hasn’t been explained and so sometimes they are American, sometimes they are British… I am in New Zealand, doing a long lockdown, and this has been MY Savior..Version: 6.47.1

Love reading on a KindleWhy? I can look up definitions of words by highlighting. I can search for the name of a character I have forgotten. I can bookmark an important page and return easily. If I look something up within a book, the page I left has an icon to return instantly to the original page. If I’m reading in the dark and I don’t want to disturb my partner, I can switch from white to black background. With a paper book, I have to have a light on. With a paper book I have to have a bookmark but with a Kindle it opens automatically to where I left off. I can share books between my other electronic devices and the program asks me if I want to go to the furtherest page. When planning a trip I can load as many books as I think l read and only have to carry the one device. Some books are cheaper, I won’t purchase a Kindle book for more than $10. I read very few magazines or books with lots of pictures because the graphics or pictures are just too small. But that doesn’t matter with so many books to choose from...Version: 6.7

An amazing facilityKindle Unlimited has transformed my retirement. Having the time to read for pleasure was a luxury I could seldom afford whilst working. What a bitter irony it would have been had I been unable to satisfy my hunger because of the cost now that I have the time. There are certainly enough books within the scheme to choose from and enjoy. If I have the desire to read more recent releases which is rare, then family and friends supply me with vouchers for birthdays etc. I could read without the risk of infection during the pandemic. I never have to wait as someone else is reading the book and the choices are endless. I am even helped to locate books that I am likely to enjoy. Storage of books which grow old and dusty is simply not a problem. The book is always adequately illuminated without my pulling myself into contortions to get to the light. Apart from spending time with my husband and family it is the best thing ever!.Version: 6.68

Books on the Go with my cell phoneI used to be a purist, wanting to hold the paper bound book over any other method of reading. However, with the onset of larger screens and quick availability, I tried reading on my phone rather than buying or borrowing or picking books up at a swap type acquisition. (My views on that were spurred on by realizing how many former readers of the same book may have touched the same pages and left evidence .) When I retired from teaching, I continued part-time interpreting for clients in various locations. Now to the point, when I’d arrive at a medical clinic for example, I’d look at the table with magazines to read, but not knowing how many germs had been shared and remained on the reading material started me reading Kindle books on my phone instead. My hands remain cleaner and I didn’t mind the wait at all! I’m a voracious reader and it was an absolute God-send for me! I’m so so thrilled with consistently easy access to my phone library, and send thanks to those who made and make it possible!.Version: 6.81.1

Really good - can’t fault it!Ever since I broke my kindle, I have always wanted somewhere to read books online, as sometimes waiting for books to be delivered can take a long time through shipping! I found out about this app and ever since I’ve downloaded it it has worked great! There is no lagging and the finish to the books are so clean! Also there isn’t any problem with the transition of the books onto your account and usually the kindle or e-books are cheaper too! Overall the app is great! I would really recommend it to anyone who likes a good book but for any reason can’t get them physically from a book shop or library. Love this app, please keep up the good work! 👍🏼.Version: 6.41

A great app that has just been made even better!I’ve been using the Kindle app on iPad since it first became available, and in all that time it has provided me with lots of reading enjoyment and exposure to new books and even genres. This alone would merit a five star review. Now, just to make things even better, they’ve turned it into a video game for pedants (among whose number I have been assured I belong). The “click and hold” to get definitions of words has been there for a while, but the new icon on the toolbar for reporting typos turns an otherwise frustrating experience (as in “Grrr, why can’t they employ proper proof readers”) into an enjoyable diversion (as in “ah hah, found another one - I’ll get that reported”). They’ll probably disable it soon, as they get over-whelmed with messages (I’ve sent off five so far today for typos in the book that I’m reading), but while it lasts it’s a great feature..Version: 6.21

A return to readingI have always loved books, Along the way as I got beyond middle age I found it more difficult to read. The font sizes in most books and magazines were too small and I needed a good light to see to read. Eventually it got too hard and I stopped reading. Some years passed before I discovered the iPad and the Kindle app. How fantastic to be able get pretty much any book, set the font to my liking together with the right illumination for me and read again. After years without, I went through 60+ books in my first year back and now have a library of hundreds! They are all always available and I do not need to remember where I left off, the app does that for me. I cannot recommend the Kindle highly enough for anyone who finds the pleasure of reading losing its lure due to the passage of time. Get back to your younger self and rediscover the manic of a great book..Version: 6.23

Great to read onGreat read loads on it way to have loads of books to carry round on only issue with iOS is no next in series to go to after you read the last one so have to search and can take awhile if can’t remember name etc no purchasing either so abit of a pain to go on safari buy it then back to app other than that is great.Version: 6.30.1

Crashing like crazy - not happyWould have said this was my favourite reading app. No idea why you can’t buy buy books “in app” but that’s your loss because it turns a lot of people off. Since the latest update my app is crashing every time I try and open it. Both on my iPhone and on the iPad. I own over a thousand books so you better get your act together. If this gets fixed I’ll consider changing my rating….Version: 6.64

Kindle app on IPhoneI’ve had this app for a while now and I love it. It’s quick and easy to read. Recommendations given when I’ve read a book are great. I’ve read books I would never had found myself. I can highly recommend this app to anyone who enjoys reading their book in their down time..Version: 6.3.1

By far the best in its genre.I have read a few books that purport to offer tips on finding your inner adult, and have been inspired by many. This one, however, was so real and so personal that I found myself wishing I was one of T$’s inner circle. Whether you have led a charmed life or endured emotional trauma along the way, this book will have you laughing with Tara and hearing yourself saying, “I know, right?” repeatedly! If you only ever buy one book of this genre, buy this one. Seriously. You won’t regret it..Version: 6.30.2

App seems worse with each new versionUpdate. Latest version even worse. Why is it so slow to reopen a book that has already downloaded. If this gets any worse I will have to buy a new kindle. I only want to read!!!! Ditch all the gimmicks and let me get to my books. What used to be a straightforward reading app has been weighed down with features that only the developer would want. Have been waiting nearly ten minutes with a blank screen trying to load a book it doesn’t appear to like! Powering off doesn’t fix it and it seems too stupid to time out. Please just fix it and then leave it be. Update. Home page poor not only introducing delays but causing the library to lose its place. If you must fiddle then make collections work. Stupid that you can add a book to a collection but not see it to access. Thank god I own a real kindle! Missed opportunity.Version: 6.59

Kindle is amazingKindle is a one of a kind reading app, it gives you access to so many different kinds of books. All of these books is an outstanding quality, when you are reading a book there is so many things that you can do. For instance, you are reading a really long book, if it has a diagram double tap and it will zoom in to the diagram perfectly. The most useful on of all is that you can bookmark a page! So, kindle is one of the best reading apps you will ever experience in your life..Version: 6.34

Perfectly adequate Kindle reader for iPhoneI am blind, so access to reading material is still sometimes a challenge. Having an easy to use Kindle reader for the iPhone is a great help in this regard. It is easy enough to buy Kindle books, download them to my device, keep track of which titles are on the device, choose which one I’m reading, keep up with where I am in each book and read the actual text. So that’s basically what I want, & this app does it OK. Gripes are few. One is that when a page has footnotes the app sometimes gets stuck in these - & there does not seem to be a convenient way to navigate to a footnote & then back to the text. Another would be that when doing academic work, citing a Kindle book can be an absolute nightmare as you’re never really sure what page you’re on, & it’s often hard to work out who the publisher really is..Version: 6.38

Love my kindleThis is the best invention ever as I always have a book to read whenever I want! It helped pass the time on a flight to & from America. It kept me entertained on flight delays. So easy to download new books and return them with a click of a button. Introduced me to amazing new authors. I especially love the authors who write series. There is a huge variety of writers and all genres so you will definitely find something just for you. I find it’s the best value for money and I don’t end up with hundreds of books that I have read. If you don’t enjoy the book just return and head back to “discovery” and search the millions of books. You won’t regret getting Kindle.Version: 6.71

Mostly goodDefinitely the best source for a wide selection of books but since kindle has taken it’s toll on most local book stores, the kindle prices have escalated proportionally. Also, as kindle expands the options available, caution must be exercised to avoid ordering something other than what your looking for, ie you want a book but you end up with audiobook or sample chapter or some other new and improved offering. Question for Kindle: why do you not list books written as a series in numerical order and why do you not list books written with the same lead character by publication date? It’s an ordeal to find the latest release of a Jack Reacher novel if you don’t know the title as it may be anywhere within the twenty or so previously released JR books. If the author of a series of six or more books is also the author of a large number of novels other than the series the books in the series might be scattered indiscriminately among all the releases. These are just inconvenient irritants but one would think they could be easily resolved. This does not prevent Kindle from being the best choice available and their customer service is second to none..Version: 6.13

Kindle rocksI don’t go anywhere without my iPhone, which has the amazing Kindle app on it. I will always love printed books, but I absolutely rate the ease and convenience of Kindle, plus the choice of thousands of titles at my fingertips is a dream. I’ve read more books in the weeks that I’ve used the Kindle app than in the past two years..Version: 6.8

Functional and Fun but unpolishedLike the app I think it evolved nicely through the years but I do think that company amazon could put it further faster in my presumed perception of their available resources. it is fairly functional but often feel a bit clunky and unpolished. I would like the UI of the library to be a bit more refined in it’s presentation like the IBook shelf. Any treatment that would leverage a sense of collection and beauty of the covers. I would love to be able to view art books in two page/spreads mode. It works with columns in standard books but not for art books which a shame. I think that having art book available in the store is great and there should be more of them available. :) Having my book library available on my devices is great and the app certainly does a good job at that..Version: 6.24

How amazing it isOk let’s start of with the words the word are not to big and not to small they are just right I also like how you can highlight the words to find out the meaning if you don’t know what it means the books are for children from ages 3-60 and it’s got really good books.I was always looking at the kindle now I’m addicted to book reading and now all my friend call me a bookworm..Version: 6.28

A Lass for the Cursed HighlanderDespite their faults, Fiona has managed to gain a reader’s sympathy for the main characters, including the villains, but it is not until the final crisis that we see a maturity in this tortured young man. The heroine comes across as one would expect, with doubts and suspicions. Her anguish is portrayed as it should be, with her conflicting emotions pulling her in different directions. A well rounded story fairly true to the era. My one criticism would be the battering of the castle. This would only happen under siege when an enemy needs to breech the walls. In this case, the attackers are already in the castle grounds. A curious anomaly in an otherwise well constructed tale..Version: 6.59

New To ebooksI’ve always loved to read books, and it’s been a passion ever since I was born. Most days I’ll read the first book in a series and find out that it’s only sold in another country :( That’s why I decided to read it as an ebook. This is the first ebook app I’ve ever used and I must say, while there is nothing like a good hardcover book, I’m actually really impressed with how easy it is to read! There are multiple different ways to view your book, whether it be background color, font and much more. Not only can I bring the book on my phone anywhere I go, but I can also read all the book series that are not available as paperback in my country. Also on the plus-side, books are half the usual price as they don’t have to spend money on precious resources such as paper, which is cheaper for you, and reduces the impact on the environment! Absolutely love this app Would recommend every day to friends 10/10.Version: 6.29.1

Great AppIt’s a great app, but you can’t buy books on it... you have to buy them on Amazon first.Version: 6.33

My son loved itThis was the first travel book ever that I got for my son. He loves travel and usually searches for travel videos on net. I got this book that he finished in one sitting. He enjoyed reading about Japan and the culture over there. He also picked up few common words and sentences which was good..Version: 6.29

Kindle over OverdriveUPDATE: I have been subscribed to Kindle Unlimited for some time now. I still am frustrated every time I try to simply find the K/U books that I have checked out. Why isn’t it a list like everything else? Very frustrating. It’s also too hard to find the Prime books. A list please? Down to four stars until there is a simple way to list my Kindle Unlimited books. If your library sticks you with Overdrive, I’m sorry. If your library has books in Kindle format always download them. The biggest Kindle advantage (among many) is the Search. Totally necessary in long books to look back for characters and references. How can a library-based app not include Search? What are they afraid you’ll find? Kindle handles the clock very nicely. Kindle allows you to turn the brightness down to a soft glow (on black) for recommended sleepy time reading. Overdrive is always too bright. I love Kindle's page automation. You can always see if you've turned a page or two accidentally. I prefer Kindle's font choices and page layouts. And the "About this Book" feature is wonderful. Try sharing it to Notes on your iPad and it will make a beautiful reading list or wish list. I like Kindle. I recommend the free Kindle app for iOS..Version: 6.70

KiPKindle on the iPad is best reading experience that you can have. The customisation options mean that you end up focused on the content of your book, and not the technology presenting the pages. If I am given a hardback or paperback book, the first thing that I do is look for it in the Kindle book store..Version: 6.9

Game changerI am totally committed to my kindle app on my iPad mini. I smile incredulously (smugly!!) at the luddites who claim to need the “touch and smell of real books”. Kindle is a major advancement for serious readers. It is: cheap and easy to purchase and receive books in seconds; able to store dozens (hundreds) of books for ready access worldwide; possible to highlight, save and forward cuttings to friends; possible to instantly look up the meaning of words and events or indeed almost anything, in seconds. I love too that I can categorise, organise and rate books for easy retrieval at a future date. It is a true game changer and worth every penny..Version: 6.54

I see work is being done on library functionality, butAs an avid reader, I’d like to see more improvements for storing, organizing and finding books in my Kindle library in order to make reading Kindle books more enjoyable. 1) There should be a way to bring the categories into the library so I can filter by category and sub-category. For example: category Mystery; subcategory Police Procedural. I can shop for them this way in the Kindle store, I want to be able to view my library the same way. 2). There needs to be a way to quickly see which books have been read, and which have not. 3) There should be a private section in my kindle library that can't be seen by anyone I hand my phone or tablet to. 4) I'd like a way to easily view a series of books in order. It looks like this is being done, but it doesn’t seem to work. Also, I’d like to be able to easily go to the next book in the series. Currently, when I finish a book, a page comes up showing the title and synopsis of the next book in the series. (Thanks for adding that, it has helped a bit to at least see the title of the next book in order). Ideally though, I’d like to be able to select the next book (if in my library) and be able to open it from there. Instead, I have to search my library. Thanks for considering there suggestions..Version: 6.46

Great app but...Love being able to read books on my tablet/phone & love my Kindle Unlimited subscription but why are 99% of the books I read full of typos & the wrong version of words??? I appreciate that I can send feedback on all the mistakes via the “Report Content Error” section, but is it so hard to type the books correctly in the first place??? This isn’t just the occasional author error, this is almost every single book I’ve read (& that’s hundreds!). Whoever transcribes these books constantly makes stupid mistakes like “barred” instead of “bared” & leaves out words. Very poor fundamentals. Otherwise, love the app..Version: 6.20

KindleIt works great once you figure a few things out! Better than I suspected. Will get more digital books for my study!.Version: 6.32.1

Does Everything RightI love the Kindle app on my iPhone and iPad. It’s always been one of the most flawless, intuitive and elegant apps I’ve used. It makes reading a joy, especially with the dark theme (so easy on the eyes) and with all the little formatting customisations available to personalise your reading experience. I also really appreciate that I can load up both my Kindle store purchased books in the same library with my own extensive library of .mobi formatted brooks that I’ve collected over the years. I tried so many eBook apps that fall short in one way or another. The Kindle app just does everything right. Wouldn’t be without it!.Version: 6.22

All books on the Kindle rather than just one.I have had a Kindle for about 9 years- the ebook and the kindle fire. I had found it difficult holding and turning the pages of larger books, especially if reading in bed and am also partially - sighted so the fact you can increase the size of the text and use text to speech was very handy. I have always enjoyed reading- I was an English teacher- and find the Kindle handy to take out and about with me and especially on holiday rather than bulky books. They are also a boon to kids who have reading difficulties because the text etc can be tailored to suit them and of course they are ‘cooler’ than actual book, especially to boys, because they are in tablet form! When I downloaded the app to my iPhone, it was even more convenient and less weight to carry and I, literally, (pardon the pun), always had a book at my fingertips! I still haven’t mastered all the ways to use the app on my phone fully but will eventually. Despite my love of actual books, I would never go back voluntarily to them. My Kindles are too convenient and easy to use in all circumstances. I have recommended them to family members and friends as I think they are fantastic. Thank you,.Version: 6.7

The Billionaire’s Curvy Librarian. This story is about Kelsey who works in a library and Eric who is a billionaire real estate tycoon he plans to buy the building because it’s costing the city too much to keep it open. Eric meets the curvy beauty but he’s dressed like a poor person he doesn’t want anyone to know that he is rich, when he see’s Kelsey he’s enamoured by her and he takes her out on a date. Kelsey is interested in the gorgeous man and she notices the things about him like how nice his watch is to being clean shaven and with a body made for sin but dreary clothes she just didn’t know what to make of him, but when Eric asked her on a date Kelsey accepted. Fantastic story I loved it and I highly recommend this book even though it’s a short story..Version: 6.23

The Winds of ChangeThis is a must read. Especially to explain what is occurring in 2020 onwards. Written long ago by Mr Stuart Wilde. Awesome gentleman, mystic and many other phenomenal qualities. His insight is brilliant and sharp. He is better than Nostradamus. He is clear and insightful. READ IT, then you cannot be fooled by the shenanigans abounding. Blessings and thank you Mr Wilde..Version: 6.30.2

Kindle for iPadLove my Kindle App but it is seriously impossible to read outdoors in daylight on an apple device. Brought a kindle Whitepaper for that. If Kindle would just add the cover of the book I am currently reading, as the default placeholder whenever I opened my Kindle, (so it’s like seeing the real bookcover), instead of an ad, it would be perfect. I know a lot of people who struggle to recall what they are reading (or have read) since the absence of the original book cover has become a consistent reality..Version: 6.45

Reading for FreeWell not exactly for free but almost! I joined the Kindle Unlimited several months back. Let me tell you it is worth every penny, By spending $15 a month reading your favorite books has never been easier. You are able to choose up to 10 titles at a time and after you read one of those 10 books you just exchange it for another title. How easy is that? It’s like having a library card without having to worry about those pesky late fines. And by owning an IPad I can carry all to tiles with me everywhere. My health is not good. I hurt 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I don’t leave my house so going to a library is out of the question. Reading is a wonderful friend when your have to deal with that. Reading gets my mind off of how horribleI I feel. So I can say that reading has saved my life. If you are dealing with something that has the ability of stealing your sanity, join Kindle Unlimited and let a book take you on a journey into someone else’s life or read those titles that help you deal with your problems. Yes Kindle Unlimited is a life saving fantastic friend..Version: 6.13

Library a go goWhere were you 50 years ago when I started to buy hardcover books- walls now full, and gathering dust , unfortunately. It has been great fun collecting them, and I love looking at the titles and know the story right away. That was now. Supposed to be retired but still working. Doing more travel on public transport , and no boredom! Kindle to the rescue . I can flick through the library easily to pick up in the various stories open and allow time and stations to pass. Finish one. Start another without having to stuff another book into a loaded briefcase. Phone goes into a pocket and is within easy reach if I get stuck in a Reception . Feeling happier than looking a brick walls with incoherent paintings or blank ones. Good for client relationships- smiles come easily even though the late recipient has chewed my day. Very happy with my gift to myself..Version: 6.75

Love this app but a little Draw backInstead of me buying a kindle I thought I try out the app on my iPad first to make sure the books I wanted manga mostly was on there I have to say I’m surprised how much I loving it so far and haven’t stopped using it since definitely done what I wanted it to do was increase and help me read more manga instead of waiting a while for the books to come in the post Increased my manga reading very happy I will say the one draw back I have found that I’m not to bothered but maybe other people might be is the kindle unlimited after my 30days free I have seen some manga on there and fantasy as that’s what I read but let’s say it’s a 20vol series it would have up to like 10 or 15 then u would have to pay for the other volums separately like they get u hooked on it then-like okay now u have to pay for the last ones or what ever not on the kindle unlimited I mean I get it but just a little bug and maybe some more manga or fansty different kinds would be nice too but I’m what so far👍.Version: 6.46

Great - butI love the Kindle App for IPad. It make reading several books at a time easy (I used to carry 3 books around with me, a junk novel, a good piece of literature, and a non-fiction). I have two complaints. One is that when you accumulate a large library (as I have) when you delete an item from your device, it remains in the library and there is a downward pointing arrow on the book's icon. Not every book that that is "new" bears a "new" label, and thus it is often a daunting task to determine whether you have already read a particular book. I have started to keep a list of finished books so that I don't open one that I have already read. The other is that it when you open it after reading on a Kindle or another Kindle app it will as you if you want to sync to the "most recent page read" which almost always is NOT the most recent page read. It is also almost not the furthest page you have read. I have started to note the location or page I leave off so that if I open the book on another app or on my Kindle I can go to the correct place in the book..Version: 6.70

Life changingAn avid reader for many years I always declared emphatically that only an actual book was for me, now at an advanced age of 81 my daughter installed Kindle on my iPad, it is now my very best friend, lives beside my bed, goes on holiday with me filled with every type of book I could possibly want to read. It gives me hours of pleasure, thanks Kindle..Version: 6.7

BrilliantI enjoyed the second book in this series far more than the first, although the first was very good. I loved the way the author used beautiful scripture to illuminate the forgiveness offered us through Jesus Christ and how we too can live out that forgiveness in our relationships with others. The story captures your attention from the start and holds it through to the end. Each character is unique and I grew to love each one, seeing God’s love revealed throughout. A book of immense value and teaching without putting the reader off. I will be reading more books by this author for sure..Version: 6.66

It’s great but…I love using the kindle app to read all the books I have in my library and most of the time I don’t have an issue with it. I have it set up so that I’m reading white text on a black background so that when I’m reading in bed with the lights off, the pages give off minimal light so that it doesn’t bother my wife and she’s able to get to sleep. And for 99.9% of the time it’s great. However, if I find an error or typo or some such that needs reporting, then because of my settings the reporting tool only shows the highlighted text as white text with the error on a white background. While the comments box to write a correction or make a comment is black text on a black background. Surely the developers need to address this and make it so that whenever an error/comment report is made the app reverts to a default black text on white background and once the report has been completed then the app reverts to the previously selected settings. Because at the moment trying to make reports is very difficult and frustrating..Version: 6.67

MixedMy kindle is lost. My new iPad refuses to recognise the app. My phone only scrolls I don’t like to scroll I prefer to read a full page and tap to get the next one. My lost kindle should reappear when we move into our new home. I love it so much. I had cataracts at 50 and it enabled me to continue reading. Now I still read a larger than average font size. I think my brain has become used to it. But I miss the original button to turn the page. Better still in the winter I use an iPad stand to keep my kindle still on my chest. I wish I had a remote control button to turn the page so I could keep my hands warm under the duvet. That would be great. Every time I visit the eye hospital, numerous Patients’s requests amazed that the font size can be changed. You are missing a big audience. But they may need a simple version eg the writing notes keypads are almost impossible. I’m doing this on my phone. I wouldn’t be able to do it on my kindle. A simple version for young and old might be a great idea..Version: 6.48.2

The QuestStella Knight Niall’s Bride Five amazing Stars Nails Bride I was absolutely thrilled to receive book four, A Scottish Time Travel Romance. Written by the amazing Stella Knight. I completely adored this marvellous time-travelling romance. Such a classic Scottish story of true love. Set now in Edinburgh, Scotland We met Niall O’Kean, who’s family were originally time travellers. After suffering recurring bad dreams of a woman who who lived during the 14th century. Niall had a close friend, Scott Chapman who had worked and studied medieval Scotland at the University of Edinburgh. His own sister had time traveled herself had traveled at that same time to marry a Highlander herself. From that time Niall knew he had to rescue her. I simply enjoyed this marvellous and most exciting tale. Such a fantastic and most excellent series too. Such a wonderful and most delightful characters throughout to read and enjoy. I completely loved and enjoyed this book. It was such a illuminating success!! Congratulations Stella Knight! I recommend this book to everyone!!.Version: 6.22

It’s very useful and fun to have, it’s become my favourite appKindle has helped me save physical space by creating an electronic library that I can always keep with me without carrying anything heavy. It also saves me having to wait for deliveries as you get your books instantly downloaded to your device and the prices are fantastic. I can also read without lights on and even though it’s screen time, it can help with falling asleep, soothing and having fun. Initially I was skeptical and even quite negative because I love interacting with physical books and I was worried I wouldn’t be able to connect with screen reading but Kindle has been invaluable to have during the pandemic, because I can access books that are not available in physical form in my country. It keeps me connected and accessing resources. It’s become my favourite app to use daily. Not to mention that it’s helping reduce paper use for the environment. Highly recommend, you’re in for a treat!.Version: 6.39

It hardly uses any data!I’m enjoying using kindle on my iPad. It is so easy to read a book in any colour/font you choose. And barely uses any data..Version: 6.69

Don't like the changesFirst let me say I have always loved this app I prefer using it to read my books but I don't like the recent changes to backgrounds. I'm an older reader and these changes have made it very difficult for me to use your app. I read several hours a night and used the black with white option most of the time including during the day. I cannot use this background since the change to blue lettering. I can't see the lettering. Yesterday I had to use Libby to read my book. In past I have only used Libby to read books published only in epub form. With these recent changes I'm sure I will need to use Libby more. Hope you will change this background back or at least give another option that would have the black background with white lettering. Also have found that I can't change the layers option. The color on the background I seem to be locked in doesn't stay the same the longer I read the lighter the background gets. This is not working for me any more. I have always recommended this app but probably won't until becomes more useable for me..Version: 6.33

Recent changes causing issues.I love the Kindle app, especially in terms of flexibility and displaying books across the entire screen of the entire iPad instead of trying hard to mimic the format of a paperback. Let’s be honest. Not all books come in that format, especially when I use a larger font for easing the strain on my eyes. There is one issue though that has popped up in the recent updates, and that is quite often when I reopen the app to come back to my book, it no longer opens where I last left it. It used to open where I last left it, now it opens further back, often between half a page to to pages back, which kind of infuriates me when I try to find where I was up to. Please fix it..Version: 6.24

Love love love my kindle! To be able to buy and read so many books would never have been possible with only paper books! I can take my kindle with me traveling and I don’t need to worry what book I’ll feel like reading, as they’re all there at my fingertips! Best of all the app is available on my iPhone and iPad so I read there too! So convenient! Kindle and kindle app is changing the world of reading! Get rid of your stuck mindset about only loving paper books and open up a whole new world of reading. Also the books are cheaper on kindle and easier to access and download. Better than the competition hands down..Version: 6.35

Great app for bibliophilesI have a ridiculous number of books on kindle, a lot of them freebies or acquired when reduced, but I love the way it’s easy to organise them in folders and to highlight or add notes. It may be a gimmick but I enjoy seeing my reading stats…. How many days/ weeks consecutive reading for eg or how many kindle books read each year. I needed to downsize my actual library and kindle has helped. Though bookshelf space is a good excuse to purchase some new actual books! A few years ago forecasters gloomily predicted ebooks would kill print. I think it’s actually done a lot to reignite interest in books and publishers have stepped up to create beautiful new designs for books both new and old. So it seems to me that both media can coexist very well together for the foreseeable future..Version: 7.0

So great and not just for books!I often send a document to Kindle in order to save it somewhere and for it to be more visually pleasing and readable in the Kindle format. I also try many samples of books out for free before I buy them as it is a great way to know whether you are going to enjoy the book. I love the Kindle app and highly advise getting it for yourself !!.Version: 6.69

Happy customer for many yearsI love how this reading app works, completely suited to me. I love how, if there is a word I may not know how it’s easy to just press on it and the app gives you the definition/s, also wiki result for some history and pronunciation tab, which is also very useful (but do think they should have one with an English accent too) and you don’t need to click on external links, there is enough to scroll through on the tabs, whilst still on the book page. I find reading on my phone (which is a fairly sizeable screen) is much easier than an actual book, due to lighting, shadows, font, faded words, bent pages and never able to get comfortable - can lock the screen and lie on side if in bed etc. Plus, on the Kindle, I just go for the scroll down option as opposed to the page by page option and when I get tired I just read to the end of the paragraph and touch the screen for a bookmark, whereas with a real book I felt like I had to get to the end of the right page, which can be straining on the eyes and less enjoyable. Anyway, I highly recommend it..Version: 6.45

Intelligence About All Books at its BestResearch or casual reading : what ever the specific interest..Kindie will provide. I have been amazed at the range and depth of information,Kindle makes so instantly available and in particular the wide-ranging reviews.. Kindle is a must! Always accessible and pertinent…Kindle is my best gateway to reading an extremely wide range of literature..Version: 6.78

Kindle is wonderfulMany people say the prefer proper paper books to the electronic variety. This, as a recently retired academic, I don’t understand. Kindle has allowed me to read instantly technical books that I once would have had to visit a specialist bookshop for, wait weeks for delivery, then go pick them up. I can actually search for a half-remembered quote to use in papers I am writing. On the leisure side I can search for books without getting a crick in my neck looking at high shelves, and carry my whole library with me on holiday. I can read all day without the pain in my thumb from years of holding books open. I can search and find new books from favourite authors and download them at sometimes remarkable prices. Best of all, especially as I get older and more forgetful, I can search the back story of minor characters who suddenly become important. I love kindle..Version: 6.7

Kindle *****************************Always have either my kindle or phone with kindle app with me at all times so I can read whenever I have to wait anywhere. Doctors. Dentist. Hospital in the car to and from journeys. The Hairdressers and when having coffee on my own In a cafe I take out phone and carry on reading my current book being able to sync to last page read on kindle and enjoy ten minutes of ‘me’ time. My friends laugh and cannot understand how I can just read a few paragraphs at a time but it just works for me and takes stress out of waiting especially when on my own Most of all when I want to switch off and wind down at night I can read till I feel ready to drift off all without disturbing my husband as no need to have the light on. Lastly I love that I have all my beloved books in my library and do not have to be forced to give books away because I cannot store all hard copies I have read..Version: 6.27.1

Much needed readThis book has changed my life tremendously. I was suffering from severe back pain for six years. I was hospitalized on three separate occasions due to back spasms. I went to doctors, physical therapist amd surgeons with no relief. I found this book after i had a nervous breakdown while recovering from my last back incident. This book showed me about how my pain was a result of years and years of anger and frustration built up inside me. It would show up in the way of severe back pain. Once i started tackling the issues that brought me to this part of my life, i started having stomach pains and headaches. The sensations started jumping around to different areas. This helped me determine that it was truly MBS. This book opened my eyes to self help, compassion and gratitude. These are all needed when dealing with MBS. Please take the time and read. It will change your life. Take your time when doing the work and don't rush through it. Once you complete this you will never regret doing the work. Im still working through issues and occasionally have symptoms or sensations but i am far better off than 6 months ago and plan on continuing this healing process..Version: 7.0

A New Shade of PaintI enjoyed reading this book. It was very interesting and kept me inquisitive as to what would happen next. I loved the analogy of a new shade of paint. The author emphasizes a personal relationship with God as vital to our well being. That it is the key to life. I love the spiritual gems that I found throughout the book. Some of the situations were relevant to me personally. (Such as the sister falling pregnant before marriage) I loved the theme of forgiveness, and how it affects ones life. The writer kept me spell bound in every chapter, creating a lot of emotions. All in all I would highly recommend that you read this book..Version: 6.15.1

Long term userI have been reading with the Kindle App and a Kindle device for many years now. Each iteration is an improvement. However, the app now works so easily and seamlessly across devices I seldom use the physical Kindle. The improvements I like most in the app are the choice of progress indicators and the greater ease of jumping between footnotes and text. Having my library on-line is a great substitute for my book cases. I sometimes miss physical books, but not often. One tiny improvement I would like to see would be a proper 'bookshelf' view with only spines showing. If that could be sorted according to a desired cataloging standard with shelves labelling themselves by category. The library analogy would be complete! Love the freedom the Kindle provides. The integration with Audible has become essential for me as I switch between listening to books on walks and reading them at home. Thy synchronisation is spot-on..Version: 6.54

Walk the Blue LineAfter reading this book I respect the police that go out and do their jobs everyday even more than I did before. People that want to defund those hard working individuals that never know what they are going to face each day or if they will be able to go home at the end of their shift need to read this. Then after they read it if they still feel the same way then maybe they ought to sign up for the job and show us where the law enforcement officers should be defunded. I doubt any of them would do the job for the pay these individuals make now. And after seeing Mr. Patterson on the recent Fox Nation Patriot Awards Show say how the New York Times wouldn’t even allow this book to be the number 1 seller even though he had the book sales numbers to prove it tells me how little truth is being delivered to the American people. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants to read about the heroes that go to work everyday with no expectations of accolades or rewards for just doing their jobs..Version: 7.0

The Flame of LoveIt’s very moving. Her sufferings and acceptance of them can only come from a heart that has been pierced by Divine Love. If you’ve been feeling that you haven’t been offering enough to the Lord for all His love and mercy for you, then this book is the answer to that cry in Psalm 116:12..Version: 6.35

I loved this book! This book is filled with heartfelt love letters some of which can’t have been easy for the authors to write about. It was a hard book to put down so when I put it down after reading a few letters and then when I picked it up the second time I finished reading it. So heartwarming, relatable and some feel as though they were written for me and they are written for you too. It’s such an amazing book and I’d recommend this to anyone and it would make a lovely Valentine’s Day gift too..Version: 6.38

Great writingI’m very impressed with Sachi Parker’s writing style and with her story. I could not put this book down and it did not happen to me for a long time. I also had a narcissistic mother, I believe Sachi’s story, one cannot make up certain situations created by a narcissistic parent although those who had loving and well-balanced parents, will find some situations described in this book difficult to grasp. I however, know what it’s like to have a parent who has issues. Sachi had two parents with issues. It’s a great read. Don’t hesitate. Grab this book. You will not regret it..Version: 6.39

Best for all BooksUnless you are one that needs to show off all the books you’ve read on your shelves to make yourself feel smart, Kindle is the best way to read a book for so many reasons! Such as reading at night: you don’t need a book light—black screen with white lettering is easy to read and doesn’t disturb my husband sleeping next to me. Research and Review: if you want to look up a term or subject, you have a search tool that is built into the book! My only wish is that they have a tool that will read the book to you because Audible doesn’t have everything and I like being interactive with a book, such as writing notes, highlights, and marking pages. And I also like running on my treadmill while listening to books, but Audible is limited in old books. I wish Kindle would also take older books between the 40s and 80s and “Kindlize” them. (My word for books that can be read on Kindle.) Maybe the future will allow us to take our old books to a place that will scan them and Kindlize them—that would be cool!.Version: 7.2.1

Great appI read constantly using this app & overall it is fantastic. Unlike some other reviewers I like the constant upgrades and new features - as one other reviewer said, if you don't like it don't use the feature! I like the new(ish) ability to make my own collections, but finding the time to organise my thousands (!Yes, I know...) of books is difficult... There are a few things I would love to see made possible - 1) Viewing the synopsis or blurb without having to open the book; 2) the ability to view the books in my library by genre; and 3) the ability to cross reference the collections from the app to an actual kindle - my Mum has one, and it would be easier if she could access the collections I've already made, rather than having to make new ones... But other than those, a great app - keep up the good work!.Version: 6.8

BalanceI’m a book freak. I will read almost anything and my husband made a good point about all the space my books were taking up especially since I’d read 90% of them and unless they’re a favorite I won’t read again. So I grudgingly started to actually use my kindle and my kindle app on my iPad. First - I love that you can highlight great quotes or see - without it being intrusive - quotes that others had highlighted if there were many. I don’t have to scrawl all over my beloved books to take notes either. I love that my library -via Libby - allows me to read so many books on the kindle app and it’s connected to my account so I can put my iPad down and pick up my actual kindle. If you are a more-than-one-book a month reader I definitely recommend Kindle Unlimited. You can hold up to 10 books so you never have to wait to borrow a book when you’ve finished one. It’s an awesome App and I absolutely love my actual Kindle too. I do still read analog books though bc I’m not ready for a world without the smell of a fantastic old classic and a cup of coffee in my hands. Besides, I’m not ready to obliterate an entire beautiful magical imaginative and instructive industry. ❤️.Version: 6.85

What’s not to like…?In the fledgling days of using Kindle I did struggle adapting to the absence of experiencing the ‘feel’ of an actual book in your hands. However, I found very quickly that your reading appliance, whether it be the latest Kindle, or for me, my iPhone 14 pro max, it easily replaces that ‘feel’ for an actual book. The only hurdle with Kindle to surpass is the technology itself. In no time I became proficient. Us humans don’t like change, we like routine. All one has to do is to settle down and find a new routine. For me that came very quickly and I wouldn’t be without my Kindle now. I have a mild aversion now to real books. The latest Kindle’s battery life could be improved but I found that once you turn Wi-Fi off, your battery life extends exponentially. A great device to assist reading with a built in dictionary, translator and reference guide for everything one is interested in. What’s not to like…?.Version: 6.87

Convenient and life savingGone are the days you need to either remember what chapter or page you’re up to or fold an old piece of paper / receipt to use as your bookmark because bookmarks go missing like Bobby pins. I can lift up my device, open kindle and pick up right where I left off, no bookmarks, no re reading to get to where you were last up to, kindle does it all! With great features that you never think you’d need, like highlight, notes, bookmark, sync with audible narration and the realistic page turn feature (one of my favourite features). I fly through books because it’s so easy to read literally wherever you are! The only thing I miss is having the hard copy as a little trophy when I’m done. Something about books I’ve finished gives me a comforting sense of nostalgia and seeing the covers of old books I’ve read brings characters and their trials and tribulations flooding back to me as if I was there when I read it but I still get those sensations when I’m flicking through my collection and see a finished book. Great, efficient App, once I made the switch from hard copy to device I wondered why I hesitated for so long..Version: 6.37

Significant issues with braille rendering app unusable for VoiceOver users who are braille readersSince the iOS 16.5 update, braille no longer works when reading Kindle books. It is not possible to use the keys on the Brailliant braille display to advance through the page. I enjoy reading. I do not enjoy reading in audio but read in braille for the most part. VoiceOver users who read in braille no longer have the option of a portable reading experience if the iPhone and iPad are their primary devices. If this is your only means of reading books it might be worth managing subscriptions until this issue is fixed..Version: 6.81

Well Worth The ReadIf you are actively seeking to develop the gift of prophecy then you will love this practical, well set out, and easily understood training - full of activation exercises that you can use to practise and mature in the gift. After reading this book the prophetic no longer seems like such a mystery to me and I feel empowered to step out more and give it a go. After all, the Bible says to earnestly desire the gift..Version: 6.42

Works well to read but some problemsPROS: I like that I have some choice in the color of the “paper,” print, how brightly (or not—good at night) lit, size of print, etc. I like that if I dk a word, I can simply tap on it for a definition (although I’d like a better, more encompassing dictionary). Overall, I find it easy to read on the app. CONS: My biggest peeve is that is highly unreliable as to whether I’ve read a book or not. It is supposed to but often doesn’t, which I find quite annoying. Of course, major books stay with me, but I read a lot and don’t always remember, say, whether I’ve read a particular mystery. Similarly, it doesn’t always catch that I’ve already purchased a book. It is supposed to and should. I have paid twice for the same book a number of times. Less important but a matter of convenience, it doesn’t remember your last page read. It says it does, but here’s an example of it not working: I’ve just read something that leads me to wonder when the book was published, so I go to look for the copyright page. If I forget to look at my current page number, the app will take me either to the front or back of the book to see the date. Now Kindle sometimes registers that page (the beginning or end of the book) as my furthest page read..Version: 6.47.1

Issue with Samples remaining after purchaseHey, Love the app, just since the last two updates when i have purchased a book after reading the sample the sample version is back staying on the app with the purchased book instead of the sample book being replaced by the purchased book like it use to. Not sure where else to post this feedback. Thanks.Version: 6.69

StudyMy business advisors tell me to be at the top of my game I must never stop learning. I also know the brain can’t absorb lots of information at once. With Kindle I can read whenever and wherever I want. This makes my learning very efficient..Version: 6.70

John BradshawEnjoyed the book! Many coincidences, that as usual; seem meaningfully familiar; like some of the names I knew in this book which were in ‘The Weird Stone of Brisingamen’; by Alan Garner; a contemporary fairytale that I read as a 10 year old in 1974. And as I write, here’s some synchronicity; lying in bed now and my wife just said “shall we go to a play called ‘Death of a Salesmen”. She said it’s got Rupert Hill acting in it; he shares a birthday with our son 15th June so he’s 15 years to the day older. “Why not said I, who wrote it”? “Arthur Miller”she said “and he was born on the 17th October 1915, which I immediately knew was 19 years to the day before the author I had just written about in the review; I also Know that ‘Alan Garner’ will be 84 on that day this year; when I will have been in the flesh on our planet for 19,999 days. “Curiouser and curiouser said Alice..Version: 6.11

Finding blessings in a cursed lifeI was born and raised in the same country-although under different circumstances I could still completely understand and relate to Mance’s story. Her journey brought me to tears, anger and even laughs at some point. I’m happy she came out of her struggles as a hero helping those who might have hurt her the most. Unfortunately the things she and some other characters in this book went through are not only relevant to different “era” and/ or political system. Even in today’s time and completely different political system we can see same issues people go through such as domestic violence, sexual orientation, nepotism…. I guess human nature is the same no matter where we come from. The good thing is the availability of different resources that can help us heal. The book was written without “artsy” descriptions which leaves readers imagination to fill that gap. And this is why I especially loved the “Pticijak” chapter. To me it is a magical and innocent place where she can get lost in May 1st songs and fire, where she can find her closure. ❤️.Version: 6.49

Kindle AppThe Kindle app for the iPad is a good stable way to enjoy reading. I like the options for font size and screen color. I can up the font size if I can’t find my reading glasses and tone down the light if I am reading in bed at night. What I don’t like is two things. 1) When I got my iPad last Christmas I had over 400 ebooks already. When I added the app, all of my books came over and I had no way of sorting between the books I had read and the books I hadn’t. 400+ books is a lot to try and sort through to see if I have read them or not. THEN, once I locate them there isn’t a way for me to sort them or keep them separate. I would pay for the app gladly if you gave me a few more choices on sorting and storing my books! 2) I am always buying new books but purchasing them has become a nightmare. It seems like every way I try and buy a book I am not able to. I can’t seem to find the “store.” I get to where I think I can buy and the only choice I have is to download a sample. I don’t want the sample, I want to buy the book! If anyone knows what I am doing wrong or how I can fix this, I would sure appreciate some feedback!.Version: 6.8

Transition can be a journey...but worth itLike most readers, I love holding books, turning pages, being able to easily use my fingers to flick the pages back and forward to look for things. Even the smell and look of books in my library is something forever gone with Kindle. But with one door closing another opens up. I can travel with a library in my pocket. I don’t have to move out of my study to fit new books. I can easily read two or three books at once. I thought I’d miss richly illustrated books but my iPad is a reasonable substitute. And my paper white Kindle lets me read without feeling guilty about a rapidly draining battery. Using the Kindle app is an ongoing journey. But being a reader, I am always open and excited about new journeys and destinations..Version: 6.8

Kindle Fire vs Kindle app on iPadI’m fortunate to have both a Kindle Fire and an iPad. Rec’d my old Fire as a gift in 2012, and have gone almost completely to e-readers since then. I thought I’d miss the feel of the book, but my arthritic hands are grateful for the change. My new, 2017 Fire is lighter and easier to hold than the old one. I have books for my granddaughter on it, and I’m comfortable handing it over to her because I don’t have a lot of other ‘stuff’ on it. We do occasionally watch videos on it, and that’s easy. The app I have on my iPad works well - probably equal to the Kindle, itself. I tend to read it from the horizontal position, and enjoy that the font size is so easily adapted. It’s a little more difficult (for me) to use to read in bed - extra weight & bulk - but if my granddaughter & I are both reading, it’s not a big deal. I guess the bottom line is that I’m a confirmed e-reader and doubt I’ll go back. Convenience, ease of book purchasing, better price on books, being able to sync between the two readers... it doesn’t get much better than this..Version: 6.8

Kindle is Awesome!Kindle is awesome. I love how I can take all my favourite books with me on my device and read them leisurely whenever I want. One thing that I’d like changed though is the right to highlight and copy more parts of the books I buy for key notes and personal study... Just like I do when I purchase a paperback book. That’s why I purchase the books (study books especially), not just to read, but note take... But without limitation. That would be great..Version: 6.12.1

For those who like to hold a real book!I was given a Kindle some years ago asa gift from my Son. He had included some books written by authors I read, and at the time I was half way through a Clive Cussler. I bit the bullet, moved to the Kindle, and have not read a hard cover or paperback since. I did move to an iPad mini with the Kindle app., and have read hundreds of books, and I have a few hundred I have bought to keep me busy inth3 coming years, along with new releases from my favourite authors. I like the fact that I can just pick up my library in one hand, and have it wherever. Getting used to e-books was not difficult, and I love it!.Version: 6.68

Kindle app great until it freezesI am an avid reader and love the kindle app. My husband used to hate when I read in bed as he said that the light being on and the turning of the pages kept him awake. No problem with the kindle ( as long as the screen is facing away from him!). Only problem that I have found with the latest update is that if I have been looking at other things on my iPad and then come back to the kindle app, I often get the home page and have to go through a series of procedures to get back to the book that I was reading. The procedures include closing down other apps, pressing the app until it shakes - the process prior to deleting an app - then pressing the home page button. If that doesn’t work I turn off the WiFi button for a few minutes, the final option is to do a reset - press the off button and home button at the same time. If nothing works then I leave it for a while and it usually sorts itself out when I try to re-open the kindle app. I would give the kindle app 5* but reduced it by 1* due to this irritation..Version: 6.7

KindleLove it! I use it on my phone so I don’t have to worry about additional devices to charge, & it has never let me down. It even tells me if I already have a book I am trying to buy in my library-& since I am a reader with many years worth, I have been known to double buy! I couldn’t possibly survive without it!.Version: 6.8

KindleMost of the app is great. My only gripe with it is that when you download a book and have read it, it would be nice if you could put a star or something against the book if you enjoyed/loved the book that stays on your kindle so that if you want to go back to read a good book, it’s easy to find..Version: 6.10

The Traveller’s friendI have basically got rid of my hard copy library these days except for the Giant size atlases and etc. The convenience of having my whole library wherever i go cannot have a price on it. Highly recommended. Reading is still my preferred delight of all my hobbies. As an 81 year old having my Library on my iPad in the Kindle App is sheer bliss. Always at my side night and day, home or away. A fraction of the cost for hard copy books makes the Pension go further..Version: 6.49

I SIMPLY LOVE MY KINDLEI have owned at least 7 Kindles over the years and they have changed my life. I couldn’t go by a bookstore without buying at least one book. Add to that all the books I had bought throughout my life and suddenly I had a veritable library. I love books. I love the feel of the pages, the look of the binding and most of all I loved to read, mark and enjoy the experience. Then came all my travels. And carrying around books through trains, planes, hotels and invariably loosing one. Not to mention they were taking up every inch of wall space in my home or apartment. I began donating them to allow space for other kinds of art. And then came Kindle. I blame it on Oprah, of course. 😉 I have a serious, progressive eye dis-ease now and I am able to continue reading vociferously, adjusting the fonts and light for ease of use. Can’t do that with a book! And, now my library is in my hands and I have lovely pictures and art on my walls. I still have some precious books that are marked and inwardly digested that will be here to remind me of their presence. But my Kindle is my companion..Version: 6.61

ConvenienceI like how I can increase my opportunities to continue to grow my cooking skills simply by having the convenience of having my digital books on Kindle. I don’t find glitches in kindle app. I like how I can scroll the pages for continuous reading..Version: 6.46

LOVE my Kindle!!! BUT...last upgrade for it changed it!The last upgrade was again, a group of many improvements which will hopefully improve many users experience with the app. AND, I do realize that mine problem with it is going to be very minute to most. Please do bear with me. I've tried support, but they suggested I try through review. I am VERY hearing impaired! I've been this way my entire life. I've learned to adjust, but this one is a pain! At this point of life, I have HUGE problems hearing typical female voices, because they are typically in the treble range. I only hear base. I'm not the only, since this is typical for hearing loss, so there are more "baby boomers" on the way, who will also have this happening to them. So....what's the deal here, you ask?! Up until this last upgrade, the voice for "translation" of dictionary words has been male. A day doesn't go by that I don't look up at least two to five words. I LOVE learning new or odd vocabulary words, AND how they are pronounced. Now, even if I were to stand on my head, I cannot hear the voice you're using. Is there ANY help here for my problem?.Version: 6.3.1

Moving with the timesMy bookaholism has left me with no space for more bookshelves. E-books are now my preferred medium, despite several limitations. The worst is the frequent loss of illustrations, or poor quality of illustrations in e-books. Also, one must resign oneself to garbled words, although I have lately realized that I am like the reader of medieval manuscripts, always on the lookout for copyist errors. Romantic, but fairly accurate. Be sure to read the one star reviews, which will warn of the omission of entire portions of the original print copies. Everything changes, said the philosopher. In my case, I no longer need to build new bookshelves and I carry hundreds of books in my iphone. A word of advice about iphones. I discovered on a recent flight from Dallas that the complete text of many of my books was stored in cloud. Be sure to download any books you plan to read on the flight before putting you phone in Airplane Mode. I suppose one might pay the airline for internet access, but I'm too frugal for that..Version: 6.63

Great appIt’s a great book app. I use it extensively, and like the continuous updates and improvements. I would like to add a book to my kindle unlimited library without downloading so I don’t exceed the 10 book limit, for books I want to read in future. It would be nice for me to be able to rearrange the order of the books in my library. A lot of books are impossible to tell the order in a series when looking at the library??? I also do not think the latest update to the menu is an improvement! ☹️.Version: 6.40

Scorching HawwwwtWhen I was surprised with the gift of reading one of Parker S Huntington’s ARCs I was enthralled and totally in awe of how two people come together in essence of such unquestionable grief.. With so much to say and the irrevocable pull that exists between the two characters it’s almost as if the one thing they have in common is unbeknownst to the both of them drawing them together. Like I totally could see the tickle that the Main Character would have gotten with Charlie walking in on his brother mid thrust, mild hair pull… but he would of punched his brother for the things filling his mind’s eye when Charlie stands there not giving an inch.. I love the structure and realness of the indecision each character reveals, and the journey each character takes even in death to grow and become quite the epitome of growth. Five stars for this amazing story born of tragedy but the unequivocal essence of coming together being a family forever..Version: 6.49

Was a 5 until yesterdayI started using the Kindle App as soon as the pandemic hit, so basically for 2 years. I love how easy it is to use. I got a Kindle Paper last year and syncing it with my IPhone App is easy and convenient. I have read hundreds of books through the Kindle app and haven’t went more than a couple days without using the app. I like that you can create lists for books you want to read. Since you can only have so many books in your library at one time, I utilized the Lists feature often to keep track of books I want to read in the future. Until yesterday, this function worked. I tried to add a book to one of my lists, and when I tried to select one of the lists, it wouldn’t work. I can see books that were added to my lists prior to yesterday, however I cannot add any new books to my Lists. Super frustrating. Cannot find any threads on line that address this issue. I deleted the app and re downloaded it in my phone but it still isn’t working. The Lists feature is a huge part of using the Kindle App so please fix this!!.Version: 6.49

Almost perfect!I love reading since I was a child and have read thousands of books in my almost 50 years of living. I always have a book and often 2 to 3 that I read at same time. The Kindle app makes it all so easy to pick up exactly where you left off and on my phone or tablet I have access to everything without the weight or bulk of paper or hardcover. I travel for business almost weekly, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday I am pretty much on a plane 36-40 weeks annually and often would read a 10-15 dollar paper back in that one day, no less than 2 a week. Having the Kindle unlimited account (10$ monthly) and app has allowed me access to do much more with nothing but my phone. The only caveat is it doesn't synch well between devices. If you don't manually synch from phone and go to tablet you must synch but it doesn't seem to find the page you last read. I cannot find in settings a Auto Synch that would do on day, opening app, but it's not a big deal and I still think it's a 5 star app, especially coupled with Kindle unlimited reading subscription..Version: 6.7

Great readingI find kindle to be easy to use, with a lot of books available to buy. I mostly use Kindle unlimited and find that the books that are available to me are good as well. If I can’t find what I want on unlimited I will go to the kindle sight and buy them. It is great that I can borrow up to ten books for a period of time, as that gives me enough time to read what I have download. Overall I would not think of getting my books any where else..Version: 6.7

Next best thing to a real bookI grew up of a diet of paper- and hard-backs, and despite years of using e-devices still like the smell and feel and am sure I feel different reading paper. And yet…Kindle is so very, very handy. Compact, easy to pick up on a different device (mostly! The sync can lag a bit) and I carry my entire library with me! It would be nice to not have to jump out to the browser to buy books, be notified when next in series is out / due to be out and a few other niceties. But what I have is already more than what I had with paper…and these too would be more. So not an app that changed my life…but it behaves very well, is intuitive and not too many adverts/annoyances..Version: 6.49

My treasure. My Kindle accompanies me everywhere. Absolutely love it. Light, easy to pop into my handbag and always ready as a place in which to loose myself, even for the odd spare few minutes. Thus no down time in my life. Content accessible on my several devices. The only disadvantage which I think almost impossible to overcome - some books eg art, jewellery, architecture have pictures which would be irreproducible in Kindle format. Could not imagine life without this treasure. Price of Kindle books affordable and immediately available..Version: 6.59

Kindle app for iPad a practical versatile choiceAs somebody who uses their iPad all day in their work and leisure time, I really don’t have much use for a separate kindle device. However, I want to be able to access the huge range of kindle books. The Kindle app for iPad provides a perfect solution to being able to read kindle books without having a separate device. Best of all, is that it’s free! Easy to use and convenient. A separate kindle device or keep its charge for much longer than an iPad, I am but I find the iPad app absolutely perfect for my needs. Highly recommended!.Version: 6.56.1

Saves my Eyes; Satisfies my SoulI am 89 years old, and I depend on my Kindle for the entertainment, enjoyment, and information that it makes easily available. All kinds of ebooks are available online. Select your favorite biography, mystery novel, biology text, or best selling novel, order it sent to your Kindle, adjust the light and the type size to your personal choice, and you are ready to enjoy reading anywhere. Even if you forget your reading glasses or want to read on a darkened airplane or bus, with Kindle, you can. Most magazines can also be read on Kindle; so you can stay informed with your favorite news magazine or keep up on the latest gardening ideas or recipes from magazine favorites. Kindle has you covered. Reading a book electronically does not mean that you can’t “mark up” the pages with ideas of your own. You can bookmark pages, take notes, underline, and highlight. This makes it easy to find material that you want to include in a review or discussion. I’m too old to enjoy using computers, but I find my Kindle very user-friendly. I would not be without it..Version: 7.2.1

Top 10 reasons I like my Kindle(s)I can categorize my library of books already enjoyed and not enjoyed I can also rate the books already read from 1* - 5* Kindle knows my taste in books based on previous purchases or books on my wish list. I use my dictionary all of the time. I enjoy highlighting well written paragraphs and being able to refer to them later. I enjoy writing and reading reviews. Reading in bed is easy; I can read multiple books and pick up where I left off. I don’t take my Kindle everywhere but I can find what I’m reading on my iPhone or iPad. I have three pages of books on my “waiting to be read” list and also on my “wish list “. I can adjust the font and brightness of the screen. I can preview the book’s characters or refer to them to refresh my memory as to who is who. If I am uncertain about a book, I can order a sample and read a few chapters to help make my decision. On my original iPad I can scroll down the pages instead of tapping to turn. Before ordering a book from the kindle store I read reviews submitted by others who have already read the book, helping me to make my decision. I receive advance notice of publication dates of favorite authors & I can preorder. Yes, I am pleased with my Kindle!.Version: 7.2.1

Couldn’t live without the kindle app...I read at least five books a week via the Kindle app on my iPad or iPhone. I’m a Kindle Unlimited user and it’s Ab Fab as there’s so many books to choose from and not costly either, definitely value for money. I also download books not available through Kindle Unlimited. I honestly couldn’t go back to reading paperbacks or hardbacks they’re too heavy. I take my iPad or iPhone anywhere and whichever one has the last page I read is what u get on the screen. I read if I waken through the night and set it to night setting and my husband is none the wiser where as with a paper book I’d have to have a night light on and he would always waken up when I put it on and he’d not let me keep it on. If you don’t have the kindle app get it it will change your life exponentially. Happy kindle app reading..Version: 6.10

Were to fined booksIt is a bit hard to find books. I have to go to amazon and get them. I wish I could buy them here but I just started so you might be able. But over all it is an amazing website and I recommend it to all!.Version: 6.30.2

Love my KindleIt am a voracious reader. Just like my family I never go anywhere without my Kindle. I love the smell of a new book, however I was very limited on the the number of books that could travel with me. Years ago I even built a small bookcase to hold the books I wanted to take with me whenever we traveled. It could contain maybe 10 books. I knew there had to be a better way and then I discovered Kindle. I now have two Kindles and have downloaded the Kindle App to every electronic device, laptop, desktop computers, and iPads, iPhone, that I own. Kindle syncs seamlessly with them all. With highlighters, and notes features, I can thoroughly study any read, and quickly review all. I now take roughly 200 books with me wherever I go. Not to mention the money I have saved, when comparing the “print” price to the Kindle price of a book. I highly recommend it for young children, and young adults because it actually encourages reading for pleasure, or research on any subject. How else could I carry over 200 books in my pocket(on my iPhone) everywhere I go ?.Version: 6.36

Amazing way to get into reading!I love the kindle app because easy and packed with info about the book your reading, as well as being super easy to use and it automatically save your page. I would totally recommend this app if you want to get into reading but can’t be bothered buying expensive books..Version: 6.36

Love the app but suggested titles not working properlyI will start by saying I love being able to use this app to read anywhere at any time. Solid collection of books for kindle unlimited. Problem- the function that shows books other customers who have read the title have also read has been erratic for at least a month. This is a big deal to me, because it helps me select my next title. Sometimes it doesn’t load at all, and a spinning circle appears. When the function is working, it only shows the full selection of those recommended titles if it is the first book I have clicked on for info. For all subsequent books, it only shows 3 titles. This is a bummer. I have found that if I close the app entirely, and reopen, I can click a different book and once again, see a full selection of recommendations based on other readers. If I don’t completely close the app out between each book I browse, I am again limited to three suggestions. Mostly, now, I am getting the spinning circle and nothing is loading. Bonus points- when you click to see one of the three kindle chart recommendations at the end of a book’s description, there is now a tab up to that allows the reader to select between top 100, new releases, most wished for, etc. This has broadened the # of selections under a specific topic, which I truly appreciate!.Version: 6.48

Easy to NavigateI am thrilled to finally succumb to the regular practice of downloading and reading ebooks. I’m enjoying Kindle very much. It’s so easy to navigate and I’m always surprised by the stories and authors featured on here when I go exploring. I have a new found friend and I suspect we’re both in for the long haul..Version: 6.24

Brilliant reading technological innovationKindle is superb, allowing an extensive collection of literature and textbooks, amounting to over 4000 titles, which takes no space, travels everywhere with me, and is easily accessed at the touch of a finger. Many of my Kindle volumes are textbooks, and there is still a lack of consistency in the digital formatting of textbooks for Kindle. Some academic publishers are better than others, and there is even inconsistency within titles by the same publisher, where one textbook is very well formatted, but another cannot present mathematical equations properly. This can be intensely frustrating. Can we all work harder to ensure interactive consistency among digital book publishers who present books to the Kindle platform for purchase? Also, why do some publishers charge the same or more for the Kindle version of an academic book, compared to the printed version. This seems blatant nonsense!.Version: 7.0

Love the app but want more featuresI love the app but there are so many features I want which are not available. I want the ability to be able to mark books in a series and put in notes and reminders about when the next book in a series is due out. I also want the ability to easily see only unread books, and as a follow up edit the metadata to say that I have read (or have not read) a book, and ideally put the date I read it as well. I would also love a folder which automatically tracks my kindle unlimited so I know how many I have checked out, and what books I have checked out previously. It would also be great if there was something which highlighted a KU book I have read which is now on sale so I could decide if I wanted to buy it. Lots more but that’s a start to moving this fabulous app from just a reader to a book managment system.Version: 6.49

Kindle on iPhone and iPadWould be great except if you accidentally touch any text while trying to read something it highlights it. My phone is small and my iPad Pro is big and heavy. It’s pretty much impossible not to touch the text holding either device. I do this a lot and it takes all the fun out of using this app. Sigh..Version: 6.5

Book readers dreamAs a life long reader, I find this App to be a Godsend. To be able to carry with you hundreds of books, all word searchable and which can be read in any ambient light condition, and have a dictionary at your finger tips is fantastic. Programming manuals are generally thick and bulky, and awkward to carry around and sometimes I have needed them but not had them with me. With the Kindle App however, they can be with me and no extra weight or bulk, providing total convenience. Am now done with buying paper books and this saves money, space in my living areas, and is easier when it comes time to move house. The only things I would like to see included in the App... are more highlight options, such as underline (with color options), an outline box for slabs of text that would look too busy underlined, and more colors available to highlight. Readers rejoice..Version: 6.15

A great ap especially for the bookshelf challengedThis is a great app. Prior to getting the kindle app I was reduced to getting rid of books as I had exceeded my bookshelf capacity. Now with Kindle I can access a vast library from the cloud acan carry more books on my iPad for when I cannot access the internet. The ability to manage your library by assigning books to multiple categories is very beneficial as is the ability to upload PDFs and other documents using the send to kindle app means you are able to upload manuals and reference material not available through the kindle store. I rate this app as essential.Version: 6.8

Reader’s delightThe kindle app is an excellent way to read on basically ANY digital device. Only drawback is the klunky way it forces you to ‘list’ a book before you can buy it via the web. Their own Kindle Device let’s you buy it directly, why not on my phone or tablet??.Version: 6.41

I absolutely LOVE kindle unlimited!I’ve always enjoyed reading, but kindle unlimited has made it so much easier to read while being a stay at home mom to an almost two year old. I LOVE paper books, but I’m ocd about my pages/book getting bent up.. 😵‍💫 Kindle unlimited also helped me discover so many new authors and amazing stories I probably would have never read because I’ve never heard of them before. Kindle unlimited also suggests books to you based on books you’ve already read and I have yet to be disappointed (I enjoy horror, the more aggressive/suspenseful, the better). Some little things I enjoy about this app are the customization options as well as streak keeper. Some examples of the customizing options are being able to change the view to white pages, black pages, and even newsprint pages. You can also display the percentage of completion, hours/minutes estimated based off your reading speed for completing both each chapter as well as cover to cover and obviously page number out of total pages. The streak tracker is really cool because it lets you know how many books/which titles you’ve completed each year, tells you how many days/months in a row you’ve been reading, and encourages you to keep reading. For the price of one book a month, what is there to lose..? 😌.Version: 6.43

Good but needs some adjustmentsFirst of all I understand that as a company you need to make money but when we were told to select ten books at the beginning of our free trial, I expected that we could keep the books which we had chosen however as I woke up today I found that the books which I had been reading had all suddenly been replaced with a ‘personal letter’ which told me that to read the books I had chosen I would have to renew a subscription to kindle unlimited which was hidden from us, I was well aware that we would have to pay money if we wanted books but I never clearly saw a sign within the app telling me that I had a week long trial. Asides from this how many people can read 10 several hundred page books in a week, this leads me to believe that you never intended to let us read these books.Version: 6.9

Better than physical booksFor years I dismissed the kindle/e-reader, I was of the opinion that nothing beat the feel and smell of a physical book. Now while I still love the smell of a book, the convenience of having a library at my finger tips is just too good to pass up. I read ALOT at least a book a day sometimes two, I used to hate having to go shopping for new books once I finished one… Kindle and Kindle Unlimited have changed everything for me. I no longer have to hit the shops or wait for a delivery to jump into my next story, its literally the click of a button and I am good to go. I can search by author, book name or even trope, its a readers paradise. If you are on the fence I say give it a go, what’s the harm? And you may just find you are converted like I was. :).Version: 6.83

Great appHonestly it’s an awesome app with minimum glitching. The ebook quality is great. My main issue is that the “your reading goal” part of the app is glitchy, I like to use it to keep track of what books I’ve read and also if I want to do a reread which ones are worth rereading. But every now and then it’ll glitch like at the moment it hasn’t recorded the last 5 books I’ve read. Each of which on the Home Screen are showing I’ve read yet the reading goal will not go up! Would love it if you’s could figure out the glitch. But overall awesome app. 🙂.Version: 6.39
