✓ Fantastic app that comes loaded with crapwareIt is an excellent browser but beware there are a lot of default modules and services from spy companies such as Facebook. You will need to delete these (not so easy, as they seem to respawn if you don’t first disable the module AND service before uninstalling) if you want a private browsing experience. The same goes for the search engines. Get rid of the ones you don’t want. After that, it is a good, flexible and responsive browser. If it was not preloaded with the rubbish but instead offered the option to instal what you want, it would be an easy five stars..Hairless JimVersion: 9.18

✓ Good, but not good enoughI thought this browser might make my iPhone experience even better, but I have gone back to Safari. The way iCab handles bookmarks, and synching them with a PC is not straightforward. The tabs do not refresh content correctly. The speed is slower than Safari, when accessing the Internet via wi-fi. I don't think you can set it as the default browser either. I like the full screen view, the three tap to navigate the whole page, and the idea of the modules, but I think for now I will wait and see what iCab updates occur, before switching away from Safari long term..BasherClavainVersion: 0

✓ User agent doesn’t workI bought this app to use the browser agent so i could edit my website from my ipad. Unfortunately, changing my device type to mac our windows or linux kept me locked out off my web admin tools. Also the user interface is dated and just not good. There are features like quickstart that have no setup and no explanation. consider updating your icons and UI elements to be more in line with modern standards or at the very least give users an option to do so. Also create an onboarding experience that explains some of the features of iCab. If browser agents are a key feature to you, i would advise against purchasing this app. It really needs a major revamp overall. ✓ Rubbish, and you have to pay for it.I have used this for a while now, at least a month. I can't stand using this anymore. It never saves cookies properly (yes, I've checked settings, cleared the browser), so I always have to type my credentials when I access facebook, webmails, blogs, etc. Retarded! Safari can at least save cookies properly. Another thing Safari can do is save the "tabs" (I know, Safari does not have tabs but they have the multiple thumbnails which are a fair comparison) so if I need to close Safari to check another app, when I reopen it, I can see the tabs that I had open in Safari before I closed it. Why can't this browser save the tabs? Every time when I need to check something I lose all my tabs that I had open previously. Not asking to keep the pages saved on the memory but at least leave the tabs there so they reload when I open them after reopening the browser. I could go on but the other issues are "minor", these ones are just too big to leave, I can't believe that the developer can't even make this save cookies properly so I don't have to type my usernames/passwords all the time. If you mind about security and have long and complicated passwords like me, this annoyance of typing all the time is very annoying. ✓ Works on fewer and fewer websitesICab has a lot going for it in terms of tools, usually found in desktop browsers, that make iOS browsing far more secure and private for the user. Unfortunately, it’s works on fewer and fewer websites. I get the impression as the sites improve security and privacy, iCab isn’t keeping up. I have avoided using it for banking or purchases for years. Now finding many sites links become unresponsive. To proceed I have to open Safari. Overall, it’s sort of ok as a daily driver. But be prepared to find financial sites and shopping carts problematic. 1-star as I’d rate Safari 3 at best and others 1 or 2. iOS is a lousy platform for doing much beyond laying on your back and surfing your life away..XghVersion: 10.7.2

✓ Best browser UIEnjoyed using iCab on iOS. Nicest UI, lots of very fun and useful options. Have ditched Atomic in favour of this. Crashes a lot on imgur & reddit, reloads tabs like mad once it gets into low memory, then just persists doing that until you poke it in the eye. ✓ Great browser - lousy upgrade processI have used iCab as my primary browser on both iPad and iPhone for quite a number of years. I have always appreciated the updates and new features that come with each release. Then I get the v8 update auto installed (which would usually be fine, but not this time). This time, I open the browser to find that every open tab, every setting, every filter, every search engine, every damed thing that I've spent years getting just right for my browsing preferences is wiped out. And I'm not just talking about local settings on each device - I have all my settings etc auto synced to iCloud - for every device. Gone. Vanished. Obliterated. So now I am left with a virgin browser that I have to reconfigure from scratch again. Hours of my time wasted - for the sake of some usability testing before release. Not impressed, and not what I expect from a browser that has served me well for many years. Stay away from this 'update' (read: complete wipe of your set up) unless you enjoy doing work over again..TadgyVersion: 8.0

✓ Latest update is an utter disaster!!!I saw one of the bugs I've encountered before fixed (iCab crashing when downloading a large file when there are already some large files downloaded) I eagerly upgraded. Now it has one of the most ANNOYING bugs ever. When you press and hold a downloaded file to bring up the action menu, the action menu now jumps up and down rapidly making nearly impossible to choose anything. This is a SERIOUS problem, please fix this ASAP. ✓ Intermittent stallingAn amazing browser I purchased and have been using on and off since iPad 1. It offers so much it’s difficult to criticise, but now it may be playing poorly with the new iOS 11. ✓ Getting buggierLet me preface this review by saying that I've used this browser for a few years and it's been great... until recently. Maybe it is because the progression of iOS versions are breaking things, but iCab doesn't always work now, and the settings are becoming too complicated. I frequently get timeout messages when clicking on the result of a search. Some pages freeze. The developer is very nice and puts a lot of time into this, but when the suggestions are things like "try disabling filters" or "use the modern Web engine, not classic", that is a sign that there are perhaps TOO many settings that people really shouldn't need to know about. ✓ Far too slow - stick with Safari for nowLooking for an alternative & improved browser, I downloaded this hoping it would be a vast improvement over the standard Iphone Safari browser. Agreed there is additional functionality over the standard browser, however, this is comprimised by poor performance. I tested both browsers in similar circumstances (same static location & website) on a number of occassions and Safari was much quicker over a number of tests. I also tested Vanilla which was very buggy & frequently failed to connect / display the desired site. All tabs will be lost indefinitely since you’re forced to go to iPhone iCab Settings and Logout Users or reinstall the app. Activating “Delay loading background tabs” fixes this but then some background tabs will fail to load unless you close them, copy the link, and send another web request through another Tab. My previous problem was with the tabs container, it will always annoyingly asks if you want a private tab or new tab. You can change text size, but it does not reflow. The app seems to do everything else as described. ✓ Was good onceHad this a while, for sometime now, it contstantly goes does not load pages as if you are offline, you have to wait for a while then searchs suddenly work. ✓ Lots of problems now!Don't know what happened to this app. It was great but after the latest update things went to hell. icab won't scroll smoothly, stopping every second or so as you scroll up or down pages (VERY annoying). Also it won't go back to google with the back arrow, just sits there not loading. Pity, because it was a great app. Hope the dev fixes these issues and makes it great again. I'll be looking for another browser, or maybe I'll just go back to Safari. ✓ OK. Not Fantastic.Safari still seems faster starting up and reloading on an iPhone 3G (not sure on a 3GS). I like the full page mode, and the scroll page is helpful on really long pages (but not really helpful for normal pages). The tabs don't really work like real tabs, just other pages. ✓ Just doesn’t workIt claims to do much more than it actually does and really fails to do a lot. Cannot render consistently. For example, google docs tables turn into a dead block the crashes the app whenever simply trying to place the cursor there. The other comments about strange blocks and fields that seem to be random are very true. It would be amusing if it weren’t so painful. ✓ App in dire need of update and polish.This app can be frozen by malicious sites, and there is no way to close the app except to delete and reinstall it. How rubbish is that? Overpriced (since it is in need of update), underdeveloped... and did I mention how draggingly slow it is? There was a time it worked much, much better. It is possible (and also quite likely) that the developer is running into problems caused by Apple’s latest principles and practices... Yes, It is clunky, it is ugly... but all browsers have issues (eg I loathe Safari for it’s sinister issues and will not use it at all, but get on okay with Firefox, despite it’s issues).
