✓ Amazing App!The app existed for years on the pc platform, I used it for a decade to help learn guitar licks. About a year ago I learned that they ported to iOS and I downloaded it immediately, as I’m now learning drums. This app is invaluable not just because it has the same functionality as the desktop version — it has even more functionality AND it’s portable! The only function missing from the pc version on this app is the ability to mute the frequencies where the vocals reside, but that’s a minor sticking point..Version: 6.5.7
✓ Great app for singing practiceI'm a classical singer who has been relying upon this wonderful app for years. If I have a recording of a song's accompaniment, the app can transpose it so I can try it in different keys, or I can slow down passages to work on them (and set it up to repeat that section over and over again while I practice it). ✓ Fantastic app for music studentsMy vocal teacher suggested I get this app. And it has been so incredibly helpful. I am able to load in songs I’ve purchased and slow them down enough so that I can really study the singers vocal technique. It’s also been where I keep all my vocal exercises in a playlist so that I can just run through them every day. I also appreciate that I can slow down some of the more difficult ones that I can’t do at full speed already. In addition, being able to take any song that I like and change the pitch is a huge help!A lot of the songs I like are sung by men and out of my vocal range. This way I can change it to my range and sing along. Lastly and maybe most importantly is I needed help with something and they got back to me immediately! With a personalized clear answer that really helped me take advantage of features I wasn’t sure how to use. ✓ Many usesThis app is so awesome for practicing and learning new parts. I remember the old days when you had to slow a tape down the transpose back to the correct key. No more of that with ASD. Even at 50% sped it maintains the original pitch. You can adjust the tonal settings to highlight the instrument your trying learn in the mix. Once you get the hang of it it’s super easy to set a loop to repeat over and over in perfect time. Another great use is finding a few bars of a drum part from a song you’re learning and looping it to practice over. Once you get the section of whatever you’re trying to learn dialed in you can save it and open it right back up where you left off. Finally, being able to open tunes from your iTunes library is amazing!! (This wasn’t so easy in earlier versions). I soooo wish I’d had this app when I was a jazz sax major in college trying to transpose recordings. I love everything about this app..Version: 6.8.2

My 10 yr child was able to learn a piece way beyond his technical ability by using this app and chunking down and slowing until it became fluent. I originally purchased this primarily to slow down songs but I now use the pitch option almost as much as I use the slow down option. I wish I had a looping option back in my youth rather than having to pick up and drop the needle on the record over and over. ✓ More than worth the price!More than worth the price! Truly a game changer! I tried cheaper options and their interface looked more interesting, but those looks were deceiving. Those others were difficult to effectively manage and really buggy. ASD proved to be “amazingly” intuitive, easy to organize what you’re learning, and completely bug free. You do have to “own” your iTunes music that is imported, and they have to be downloaded to your device—Apple won’t let you work in other programs with their music otherwise. I do pay for Apple Music, so I have to individually purchase those pieces I decide to accompany on my banjo. But that is a very small added cost for the time ASD saves when learning the song. Besides having quick and easy control of pitch and speed, the setting of focused sections of songs is very easy—I was setting focused loops on the fly the first night of practice using ASD. Each loop only took seconds to create and are automatically organized under a disc looking icon linked to the song. Having the loops organized with each song like that is one of the many details that make using ASD intuitive and effective. I do not typically leave reviews—less than a half dozen made in my lifetime across all platforms—so this review is a sign of how impressive and helpful this app truly is. At first didn’t use it much but then moved to China where I slowed down transcripts so I could copy the pronunciation (along with the tones). ✓ A wonderful practise toolStudents need accompaniment when they practise! (W. Marsalis) Most demo files and accompaniment need tempo adjustment in the early stages, and this is the ticket. There is a learning curve, finding the files, which need to be present on the device, but after that, it’s fun all the way. A worthwhile investment. ✓ Great but minor tweaks would be greatFirst off let me say what an indespensible tool this is for musicians. I use this every single day to lift and learn songs and solos. The UI of the now playing section is great but I feel like the files section is a bit awkward. There is also one feature that would make my life a lot easier. That would be the ability to quickly and easily move a song from on folder to another. Might be nice if when you slide from the right the options were move / delete or even rename / move / delete. Two places you could take cues from are two more of my favourite apps: Recordium: offers a great set of options when you slide out the track from one side. ✓ Expensive but better than free music slow-down appsI tried several free apps before forking out for this one. The free apps had clunky user interfaces and lack the same precise control over speed that ASD has. Other functions such as simple looping were missing, and in one case an app didn't have a restart option so we had to wait for the piece to finish or at least speed it up to finish it. This app is used by my kids' music school so I finally figured it was worth buying. They practice piano five days a week and the app is invaluable when they are mastering new pieces. Slowing it down so they can actually keep up boosts their confidence and before we know it, they are playing full speed (or faster as one of them likes a challenge). ✓ Must-have Tool for Producers and SongwritersI’m a music producer and songwriter. ASD is an excellent tool to organize bounces of mixes/songs I’m working on. I’ll airdrop an MP3 to my files folder on my phone, and then I use ASD to access it while I’m on the go to listen in different keys, tempos, and select specific loops. I use this app literally every day to listen to things I’m working on. iTunes would not do the trick, it’s not as seamless and doesn’t have the functionality I need. ✓ Still amazing2014: Came back to this after a long break and am stunned at how good the product is. Effortless import of songs from iTunes, and excellent algorithms for slowing down the tune without distorting the instruments or changing the pitch, and easy to set bookmarks to loop over and over a piece as you learn it. Still the best! ***Update*** Reviewed this when it first came out, and liked it a lot then. It has now reached version 2, and is better than ever. I like the new ability to import tunes from the onboard iTunes library. Better than Wifi by a mile, for me anyway. Other niggles I had before like setting loops precisely have been elegantly resolved so I'm running out of things to add. Perhaps if it allowed us to record a track to it using the onboard mic, then slow that down? All in all, nice work! I don't mind the price - this isn't a mass market appeal app, it's never going to sell in its millions, and it does a great job. Give the developers their dues. **** Have used ASD on Mac and PC for a while now to help us learn session tunes by ear. Delighted it has made its way to the iPhone - makes practice and learning new tunes much more portable. While this version is not as fully featured as one for the PC/Mac, sounds pretty good and does a decent job of slowing tunes down without much distortion, and changing pitch too. Wireless transfer of files is as straightforward as it gets. Shame Apple dont let you use it on tunes already on the iPhone (and probably wont in 3.0 either) but not much developers can do about that. There are a few things I'd like to see - saving settings, and a "Reset" button (or shake?) for when you've messed up the loop/pitch/ speed too much and want to quickly put things back. And some form of finer control for setting the beginning and end points of a loop? But this is only v1.0... Otherwise, its pretty much perfect. By AppStore standards, this is not cheap, but it's a port of a commercial piece of software, and for those that need this type of thing, well worth the money. ✓ Amazing - I use it everydayI've been using this app since v1.4 on my 3G iPhone. I am now using an iPhone 4S. I use it pretty much every day to assist with learning drum and guitar parts in songs. (Sometimes the playback will hiccup, but I'm on the slower 3G iPhone.). There are no hiccup issues with the iPhone 4S. The newer iPhones should not have this problem. A little expensive, but totally versatile with lots of options for equalization and playback speed. My only "complaint" is that the app icon is uninspiring. A melting record or CD icon would be cool. ✓ Nice appThe Amazing Slowdowner is the perfect way to slow down fast tricky guitar solos whilst maintaining pitch and sound quality. Actually it can adjust the pitch too if required. The user interface is uncluttered and easy to use so you can concentrate on the music without having to waste time and effort grappling with a whole lot of useless feature bloat. ✓ ASD is amazing!!As a musician and teacher of music, I have found the Amazing Slow Downer an invaluable resource for myself and my students. I first purchased the program for my Macbook Pro and was very impressed at the flawless control of time and pitch, which for me are the critical tools with this sort of program. You can literally bring a track to almost stand-still without any noticable loss to audio quality, so even the absolute beginner students are able to play along to the music of their choice. This makes them feel good about their progress and makes me feel satisfied knowing they are establishing a strong sense of rhythm straight away. The advanced players are able to take on virtuoso pieces at a moderate tempo and bring the speed up progessively. The pitch control allows me to set any key to backing tracks for vocalists with full confidence that the playback will be uncompromised. This makes studio time and performance a breeze. I was very interested to see whether Roni Music had come up with an equal standard for this app, and indeed they have. Plus, uploading via web browser is very straight forward and fast. I use this on my iTouch which makes it very convenient for any given situation. I believe credit is due where deserved, and I wish to personally thank the Roni Music team for creating an app that makes my business work better and personal life creative and fun. ✓ ExcellentStraightforward, simple but does everything you need, create and store loops etc as well as the usual speed and pitch. Mainly I like how big and easy the buttons are, when you have an instrument in your hands it's easy to quickly tap pause/play and quick rewind (which you can set to go back in different increments - great feature). Hopefully they don't change this aspect. You can't see the waveforms of the track but I don't think that is a problem, if anything it probably helps keep less cluttered..Version: 6.7.0

✓ Works for me!I recommend this for people learning lead lines. I love spanish / Latin and Flamenco guitar and Gypsy Jazz Guitar. The top Gypsy Jazz guitarists play amazing lead which is also played at speed. This app has helped me to capture the notes so I can work out what and where they are playing on the neck of the guitar. ✓ The Best Practice Tool Hands Down!!!!!This is the best practice / jam tool! I use it all the time! I have had this for years and it still does everything I need it to do. Wanna jam along or learn a Van Halen, Jimi Hendrix, or SRV tune and don't want to tune down a half step? No problem! Just raise the pitch! ✓ Brilliant AppThis app has made a very positive impact on the way I practice and transcribe music. I also use in all my lessons as a guitar teacher. The way in which your Apple Music library is automatically loaded on and is so accessible is the main draw. The looping functions were a little clunky at first (I’d love a punch in and out button that let you set loop points as you play) but works well once you get used to it. If the developer is reading this, thank you so much, this has made a huge contribution to my practice and I’m recommending to all my friends. I would recommend working a little on the presentation. ✓ Amazing learning appI first thought the app was too pricey. After I had it now for a month I would say it’s a bargain. The only thing I wish they would improve is the quick back “one second” arrow. ✓ Simply AmazingAs a lifelong cover musician who has always played by ear, my life has always involved tuning my guitar to whatever tunings the original artist used. Not a huge hassle, but not hassle-free either. The Amazing Slowdowner has changed the game for me. I only wish this technology had been available when I was in my 20s, but I’m sure glad to have it in my 50s. This app not only allows you to slow music down to the extreme for the purpose of learning, it also allows you to tune the source material to your guitar, rather than tuning your guitar to the source material. Playing in a band that typically detunes guitars by 1/2 step, this feature is extremely handy. And while similar technology has always suffered from digital artifacts when using time compression/expansion or de-tuning algorithms, this app suffers very little digital artifacts distorting the sound. Tuning a whole song down a half-step produces a high enough quality source audio file, that you can use it over a PA as an intro with no real noticeable drop in audio quality..Version: 6.3.4

It’s functions are so useful and save so much time and effort, which in turn speeds up the learning process. I love how you can load in a song and then create loops (which are saved in a list for you select and play whenever you want) This means you can focus fully on learning a song one section at a time. Master that loop and then simply select the next loop and start working on that. Also for singers you can change the pitch to suit your voice. ✓ Daily use as a guitarist!This app is simply ... “Amazing”. I use it constantly to slow down difficult Guitar passages AND then loop them so I can practice long or short sections. It is perfect for learning solos or riffs with difficult timing. The sound quality is terrific though (as another reviewer mentioned) some distortion becomes audible at very slow speeds, but it is not intense distortion and doesn’t prevent hearing what you are trying to learn. Because I am using either MP3 or AAC, I’m sure the distortion is due to file compression. Having said that, there is zero doubt that I am a better guitarist because of this app. I would buy it again in a heartbeat due to its ease of use and solid feature set!.Version: 6.1.0

✓ Stunning App.... But....This is a truly stunning app. It does what it does inexplicably brilliantly. It even allows to change the speed by BPM as well as percentage. However, you can’t export in any WAV file format .... Yes, I am fully aware that the quality of the audio is being exponentially destroyed ..... but I need it exported in the highest possible quality and unfortunately m4a just doesn’t cut the mustard. ✓ THIS IS AS CLOSE AS YOURE GONNA GETOk so how many of these have you downloaded just to be told you cant use apple music songs? well this works, only it meets you half way. no pitch or eq adjustment of apple music songs but the slow down sounds INCREDIBLE. any music file will load. the looper function is great because it can gradually get faster every few repeats which is perfect for learning new riffs. but yeah the algorithm for speed is a solid 10/10, while the pitch adjustment is more like an 8/10, which is still better than most. its worth the 15 bucks for the pro version. it works so smoothly and only looks kinda dated. a new updated UI would be nice..Version: 6.6.6
✓ As advertised!Great for slowing down difficult percussion passages. Some distortion is present at very slow speeds, but it's still completely workable. Didn't read all other reviews, but if you come across a "protected" file that won't import - there's a way around that too. ————- Checking back in on this app in 2018. I’ve used it religiously for the past 6 1/2 years and it is STILL amazing. Someone complained that it was too expensive at $15 (a few years ago). Are you kidding me?? For the serious musician that works at getting things right, this app is priceless. Given the amount of use, time saved, and difficult passages learned - I would in retrospect have gladly paid $50 for this. Regular updates keep it working smoothly. I also dislike that it won’t import protected songs from iTunes (which I HAVE paid for). Not the app designer’s issue - it’s Apple’s. But you can simply burn the songs you want to slow down onto a CD as a regular mp3 file, then import that version into your ITunes and import it into ASD. ✓ Possible updateI love the amazing slowdowner app. I use it for my clogging studio and it’s easy to adjust the speed to dance to the music. I would like to add a suggestion of a (+) or (-) button option on the sides of the speed. Sometimes it’s hard to adjust the speed by just 1% without the speed moving too fast or too quick. Having a button that we could use to adjust it by 1% by tapping it would help a TON!!.Version: 6.4.3

The loop points are a bit diddly and you can't precisely pinpoint the exact loop points, but apart from that it's a great app! If you start adjusting the pitch/speed on vocal track a male voice will end up sounding female or like a chipmunk but it's great that you can hear the instruments very clearly when making these adjustments.
