✓ Doesn’t work with IOS 13No longer works reliably with the update to IOS 13. The video times out after a few minutes and then you need to wait 10 minutes and try to connect back repeatedly. Needs an app update but I wouldn’t hold your breath as there hasn’t been an app update in one year. I’ve owned Slingboxes since the very first device but I suspect with the prevalence of streaming offerings this product will unfortunately enter the end of life stage..Version: 4.0.0
✓ Awesome when it worksWhen it works it works great 😃 it’s quite amazing that I can both watch and control my sky box from the other side of the world 🤯 add an Apple TV with Airplay and it’s like being at home. But I have both an iPhone 7 and an iPhone X and it appears quite temperamental with the iPhone X sometimes refusing to launch. It was a bit touch and go initially setting it up as it has no native support for Sky Q remote codes, no HDMI input available on the UK Slingbox so I had to use a HDMI to Component adapter to hook it up. In summery it’s a one of a kind product that has room for improvement..Version: 4.0.0
✓ Worst update ever!Dear Sling...If it’s not broken, don’t fix it! This update is the absolute worst in app history. I can no longer connect on my iPhone or for that matter, even at home. ✓ Fine, but could have been so much better. WHY NO ZOOM IN?? - version 1.0Over my home network and wI-fI, the picture quality is good, not brilliant. Which is probably why I don't mind so much that it doesn't work over 3G. The controls are very laggy. They just don't work as quickly as they should. My biggest gripe, however, is for the screen aspect ratio. You can have the picture as a 4:3 type configuration or a widescreen configuration. Watching it in widescreen leaves black bars on all sides of the screen. Why wasn't a zoom-in feature enabled? It's native on the iPhones video player. Whenever you watch a widescreen video, you can double tap to zoom in, eliminating the back bars on the side. I'm astonished that a simple thing like this was left out. Clearly a lot of work needs to be done to polish this app up. Worth £17,99?...... not yet..Version: 0

✓ No update is horribleNo remote until stream starts. No good for food as I can’t go to a non HD channel to watch. Verizon Box starts in 1080p mode all I get is a message video stream not supported. The only way I can get it to work is go to the TV where the box is located turn TV on switch resolution to 720p then it works. ✓ Going Backwards....?This update is a backward move in my opinion, especially for users of sky, the new interface makes it very slow to change channels quickly for users that only want to move 1 or 2 channels, and the removal of "gestures or swipes" makes it even more confusing, especially as the instructions within the app clearly state that gestures work.... And now my biggest gripe, i know this may change, but why still no 3G support outside of America.....??? Are we now being dictated to by apple and our service providers....??? It makes no sense, especially as with a 3G with internet tethering activated i can use this to watch through the iPhone connection on my Laptop....!!! ✓ Not good!I bought a Slingbox for the exact reason of accessing Sky on my iPhone. This app though is a serious let down! Firstly it is very slow to load, and also hangs a lot of the time when logging in. When you finally get in then it must be over WiFi ! It won't work on 3G or edge as apparently the american company AT&T were worried about bandwidth! Therefore unless you happen to be near a hot spot then forget it. The app itself is also buggy, for example you cannot exit out of the Sky Guide! The new guide needs the back button to get out of and you can't! Also if like mine your Sky box turns off at 1am due to power saving then the application struggles to turn it back on as their is no full remote capabilities as there with the PC version. All in all I would say this is very very poor and charging 18 quid is also a massive rip off when the PC and Mac versions are totally free! NOT GOOD!!.Version: 0

✓ HDMI hook up doesn’t work with iPhone anymore after a decade!!Used my slingbox constantly hooked up in my car via hdmi to my iPhone. Now it barely works. Have to turn my phone side ways and it it doesn’t fill the big screen on my radio anymore it’s projected to. The older versions worked great, want to roll it back to old version how do we do that? ✓ Poor user experience with updated appThe new-ish apps user interface is really poor. It takes multiple button clicks to get to the control options and every time the iPhone goes to sleep when the app is restarted you need to reconnect. ✓ Audio only is back!AirPlay always results in a squished aspect ratio, regardless of settings. Looks fine on the phone, but if you are planning on using AirPlay a lot, don't bother. Mirroring does work, but the quality is poor and it drains your battery quickly as you must keep the screen on. ✓ Revamp renders app uselessI used to love this app, used it with my slingbox pro HD to watch Directv and my OTA. But the 4.0 upgrade is WORTHLESS. The new UI does not allow one to bring up the remote control until AFTER a video stream is detected. My remote DirecTV box requires a power on to wake it up as it goes to sleep on its own. As such, this app is now 100% unusable for me until this is fixed. Note: I can connect with the Slingplayer app on PC abd sebd remote power to the sling box. After doing so, the iOS Slingplayer app is fine, with the full remote UI coming up after video detected. So I know the only issue here is needing access to the remote controls after connecting to slingbox but before video is detected. PLEASE FIX!!.Version: 4.0.0

✓ No 3G? why?I was silly to not read. I've set loads of these up in my job for other customers using xda's or nokia phones and works really well. I just assumed it would work on the iphone and didn't even think about reading info to find only works on wifi for watching tv on iPhone I may aswell of just used the mac. The slingbox Pro comes with HD connector which never worked with foxtel IQ2 in australia, therefore S-video is the only option - which is OK for iPhone but what about iPad??? ✓ Awful supportI purchased this app years ago for 29.99$ I’m on my 2nd generation of sling boxes, now using the 350. And I’m on about my 7th iPhone. This has been happening for about 4 iPhones and 15 app updates or more. This app has asked me to type my login every time I open it for 4 years now. I have tried every solution they offer online to resolve this. Their tech support always tries to make me do the same things “have you tried resetting it?” Unreal!?! They don’t know how to make apps work with their hardware. They need better software devs. And way way better tech support. This app is ONLY usable when you are at home and use your own wi-fi, but it still fails to load gallery. It doesn’t work ANYWHERE else!!! ✓ Only connects on home network - pointlessVery disappointed as will not connect when away from home network (wi-fi). I can watch TV Catch up via 3G or wi-fi away from home (so I have a good internet connection) but this app says I have no internet and won't allow slingbox connection. Tech department at Slingbox unsuccessful so far in their attempts to fix. Waste of £21 so far. Even if they do fix it this seems too technical if they can't fix it with remote access to my system in a few minutes. ✓ Usually great, currently brokenI use this app on both my iPhone but particularly on a daily basis on my iPad and have done since my first Slingbox. The app's performance improved over the years until the latest update and now it's difficult to watch in the last few weeks. In Standard Quality mode, it will stutter and jitter for a moment every minute or so and in High Quality mode it will run for a few minutes and then drop a noticeable portion of the stream. Fortunately I'm streaming something I can pause and rewind so I'm not missing too much, but it is an increasing pain... I know this problem doesn't exist with the Slingbox for Web on my MacBook Pro and I know it's not brought about by iOS 10 as my iPad is still running iOS 9, so it can only have been as a result of the most recent app update. ✓ Sling 3GFinally they've added 3G to this app, making it much more useful than it was in it's previous form. But they still haven't addressed the bizarre aspect ratio/screen size issue which no other app like this seems to have. On top of that the frame rate is still pretty poor, and the audio sync is still out. Again I've gone through a few phones over the years with slingplayer mobile installed and this is by far the worst version of it. Not too keen on the interface either. Hopefully now they've sorted 3G out they can now concentrate on the basic issues that shouldn't be a problem in such a high premium cost, video streaming app from a company which is supposed to excel (and they usually do!) in this field..Version: 0

✓ Don't buy. wrecked my Slingbox.I bought this app and tested out at home. All was working fine. The first time I tried it outside of the house on my iPhone 4 it connected, I got about 10 seconds of video before the connection dropped. Following that, I could never get the two connected again, something had caused the network connection on my slingplayer to die. Now, the two may not be directly related, but if not then it's very coincidental. Slingplayer support is next to useless - my box was 2 weeks out of support at the time and their only solution was to buy a new box for what is almost certainly a software related problem. Singplayer is now binned and I won't be buying another (that was my 3rd box, all three died with similar problems)..Version: 2.1
✓ Not Changing With the TimesSince the iOS 13 update, the Slingbox apps are useless. Sound alone from my home TV is heard without loading of the gallery and no video. There’s no functionality with OS Catalina either, rendering computer based watching equally useless. Similar trends holding true for other platforms as well. And because I’ve got a “legacy” Pro-HD, support for even other platforms is non-existent, essentially leaving my long-used Slingbox a brick. ✓ DisappointingHas made use with my pay TV box impossible. This version has had custom remote buttons 12 through 16 removed which I was using with my pay TV Austar box. ✓ Needs drastic improvementsThis app works just fine for watching TV, but needs more improvements for giving the best experience as its description is calming. I got frustrated the instability of Chromecast integration. When I operated a remote (e.g. open menu), Chromecast app crush and went back to the stand-by screen. Also, when I operate a remote on iOS app, it refreshes the screen each time. It’s really annoying and made me frustrated when I was browsing channels. At last, the sound quality of TV streaming is really poor. Low volume sounds (e.g. whisper voice) are often cut and avoid you to focus on TV. As you can easily imagine, it’s extremely frustrating when you are watching music channels. Slingbox streams great musics as a garbage noise. ✓ Sling player mobile promising but hopefully going to be improved in future versionsDownloaded this this morning. I use a SKY HD box connected to my Sling box solo. The VUI is not the best it is quite slow to choose the channels and is not easy to choose the option that one wants on the sky interface. The streaming quality over WiFi is ok, watchable but not fantastic quality. It is a pity there is only Wifi support what I do not understand is why do the Americans have to lead everything. If O2 is happy for 3G support in the UK perhaps the 3G capability could be unlocked in certain regions. I am hoping future versions improve quality and the VUI.Version: 0
✓ Greedy!!Slingbox only connects and works on my PC and doesn't connect on this app. The network settings are all configured properly and as directed. Customer service asks for an additional $30 to fix this problem!?! Ripoff company.. Used to have respect for them..Not anymore..Version: 3.3
✓ Ripoff. Should come with a warning.Shame on Apple and Slingmedia. Living in Canada, I am not an AT&T Subscriber, and should not bound by their protectionist policies. I have an iPhone, and in anticipation of using this app while I travel, I forked over the 200+ dollars to upgrade my slingbox as indicated by Sling as being necessary (later I discovered that this is a costly and devious misrepresentation, as your old slingbox will work just fine). I now have a Slingbox that is not useful to me, AND a $30US app that is crippled. The proper choice for Sling/Apple would have been to either sell it exclusively in the US, or place a warning on the apps description about it's limited functionality to prevent those outside the US from being ripped off. If you paid for an unlimited data plan as I did, and had hoped to get your use from it with Sling, forget it. It's a terrible shame, as the app itself is well made..Version: 0
✓ DisappointedThe app is pretty awesome, nice work SLINGMEDIA! I have been waiting a long time for this app which has been available for Blackberry forever and people love it. My only problem (and thus the low rating) is that AT&T has exercised their influence (some say due to their already shoddy network) to prevent it from being able to stream over 3G, and therefore at the time I write this post it is limited to Wifi, which honestly makes it kind of useless. What is even more of a slap in the face is that other phones are able to stream it over 3G, so I honestly think that sling and the consumers should be taking this one to court due to the obvious bias. What is the point of paying for an unlimited plan if they are just going to limit the data that can go across their network so that no one actually uses it..Version: 0
✓ Apple fix this!Apple is bending over all letting AT&T dictate what they have to do. It's a shame. So many of us want to use this app over 3g on other netwoks but apple is selling us out so they can be on good terms with the worst network ever AT&T.Version: 0
