✓ Great for beginners, but bad afterThis is really good for beginners, and at the easier levels, it works fine. But once you get past that, and you need to move on, the game itself cheats. I was going in for the checkmate, and I was positive my queen was safe. Then it moved its knight as if it was a bishop, taking my queen. I didn't believe it, so I pressed undo and tried again, but it did the same thing. I tried playing on, but it started moving like the knight was a queen, except it was still jumping over pieces too. I had nice thoughts about this in the beginning, but now I'm going to delete the app..Version: 1.65
✓ Timer ruins it - can't be turned off.The timer ruins this game. The minimum you can set it to is five seconds. You cannot turn it off. Therefore, you have to sit around for nearly the full five seconds for even the opening moves of the game. The computer will always take its thinking time on every move even if it obviously does not need it. I bought this to upgrade from the free version, but now I have gone back to the free version which does not have the mandatory timer. It is such a shame and a waste of money to upgrade to the premium version..Version: 1.65

✓ Think timeThe free version was useful because one could play a quick game with instant moves. The paid version introduced a minimum think time of 5 seconds for both the machine & the human player, which made the game slow and useless. Everytime I waste 5 seconds waiting for the next move, I feel like I was conned into paying for this app due to those irritating ads. Unless this gets fixed, it is best to avoid this app..Version: 1.70
✓ Great app but...This is the best chess I have seen out there but several times where I have been in check or the computer is in check, it malfunctions. It will won't allow you to put the computer in check or it won't allow you to move in other directions just the one it wants you to move so you're automatically in checkmate. ✓ ScoringThis game makes it very easy to wipe out your win scores. All it takes is a slight bump of the button when your setting up a new game and in an instant all your wins are gone and you have to start from zero. Other times you get into the app and your wins are just gone. If your looking for a GOOD chess app keep looking. This one is worthless..Version: 1.65

✓ Total battery and data drainer and no response to emails.Tried to email, AGAIN, with no response. Beware before buying. I have written before four times with no response. I have made my app review known in the App Store. I will continue to do so until I get a response of why the chess app drains my iOS battery and just takes up all when I am not even connected to the Internet on my iPad. My iPad always shows 49 percent of battery usage when I play this game. If I play on my iPhone I have the same and it uses about five gigs of data in about a week. ✓ Good but buggyIt's good and works well most of the time. It has a bug problem with pawns taking other pawns on the side. For example I move my pawn 2nd from the outside in line with the computers pawn it will take me even though they can't do that..Version: 1.40

✓ No value in paid vs freeI thought paid app would at least provide elo ratings of levels and players, but does not. It only removes ads, which means it should be labeled "ad free" rather than "premium". I've played chess for decades, and recommend the free Chess Tactics app for those who want to really get better in your strategy. Far better experience there, and fun to create your own apps. My six year old loves it, and he is getting really good!.Version: 1.65

✓ Can easily have more custom featuresI have no issues with gameplay or anything like that. Though, I do wish the computer would move a little faster. ✓ Mr BlobBought the premium version hoping the bugs in the free version would be fixed but they're NOT. Computer will not recognize a stalemate and win the game. Computer does not win with a checkmate ever it just won't let you move. Pawns can attack the wrong squares and take your piece. Same game as free version but without the adds. ✓ Bug need fixThere was a horrible bug when I was in middlegame. I was positive that I can win this time but my Rook just cant move along line h. I tried undo and did that again, still. And I checked the review from other players and same bug happened to me that the knight moved as if it was a bishop. I feel frustrated as I thought I could win for first time and your app is Cheating for not to lose... I paid 1.99 and now I need to delete it..Version: 1.70

✓ Nice gameNeed a fix for IOS 11. Opposing player’s pieces move like lighting since I downloaded IOS 11. Need a fix to slow the opposing player’s down so you can observe the move otherwise you have to really study the board to see what piece moved. Otherwise before I upgraded the iphone IOS to 11 it was a good game. Play everyday..Version: 1.65

✓ Possible clitches in gamesI have had several games where it is as if the “computer” has forgotten the rules of certain pieces. For example: I have had a few issues with the opponents pawns. Once it moved 3 places to directly in front of my king claiming “check”; another time it moved sides ways to kill instead of on the diagonal. Very strange. Occasionally it has not allowed me to move a piece to where I would like (even though it is a totally valid move). Has a mind of its own..Version: 1.85
