Epicurious for Positive User Reviews

Omg what's with all the bad press??I was shocked to see all the bad reviews!! This app mainly has American units for weight etc but that in my eyes is a tiny issue. The app doesn't crash on me, there are very few adverts, and it doesn't keep taking me to the app store. I have only been asked to sync my recipe box once, and that was when I first did the update ages ago! I can't understand it! This is an amazing app with zillions of recipes!! And it is really really simple and helpful!!.Version: 3.0.3

Good but needs improvementThis app is mostly awesome. You can browse cooking videos, look at recipes and save the ingredients to a grocery list that you can check off while you shop. It also has timers for basic foods like chicken as well as their cuts, eggs and the different times for different ways, etc., however I dislike that the only timers for most of the ingredients is for roasting in the oven. There isn’t a timer for steaming specific veggies or grill times, slow cooker times etc. it would be nice to add those details in to enjoy the apps convenience a little better. Also, there’s no way to save any of the videos for later. You have to scroll and look for them, you can’t search them in the search box either. And the search lists are very short and sometimes nonexistent. If you type in vegetarian, only one recipe comes up! There needs to be a more broad and lengthy list of recipes in general. I also wish that you could name the shopping list but that’s not a big deal. However, this app does need some major improvements for it to be amazing..Version: 6.4.1

Excellent cooking appThis is a lovely little application - with web-site support and back-up. I have to laugh at the complaints about advertising that are made by some. The adds are in a quite acceptable format and fair enough for a comprehensive free application such as this one. Well done to CondeNet for bringing this to the iPhone public - it's a treat to use the shopping list on the way home from work and come home with all of the needs for a great dinner/lunch/breakfast..Version: 0

Been on epi for so many years! life is so different nowI went on epi when I first heard about it, at least 18 years ago...maybe more. It was the total package....new and amazing! Now, I’m getting a bit disappointed and yet I always come back. Some of my favorite recipes have disappeared from the site and I’ll never retrieve and some of the new is just not good. Sometimes way too trendy and I’m not sure if the staff reads or tries these recipes as written? Like I said, I’ll keep coming back, but I’d like to see more of the basics and not 15 of the same thing with only a slight variance Update: liking some of the reviews of product both food and tools. Would also like to see more standardized recipes for holidays...like basic pumpkin, apple, or cherry pies....most are out there and sometimes you want the food to be exotic and sometimes just “good American food” Also, I use epi on my iPhone/iPad and cannot figure out how to review recipes on there....send me info on that, please So, i guess y’all do not care about these reviews…so, why do you ask?? I sent the above, at least 2 years ago. I have yet to hear from anyone from the company.Version: 6.4.6

App rubbishLove it when no matter how many times you reset password, the app continues to send you back to log in page. I guess my recipes are a matter of national security..Version: 6.4.1

FoodGreat recipes and easy to use.Version: 6.4.3

Great reference and toolExcellent app. Non-obtrusive advertising. A must for anyone epicurious (you know, those folk who enjoy and are interested in food and cooking, and for whom having to perform very simple conversions from imperial into metric *isn't* cause to raise an alert with the United Nations).Version: 0

BrilliantApp is amazing! Has such brilliant recipes and very clear, easy to follow instructions. The only minor issue I have is that when I press the “save” button, it doesn’t go my save list, instead, when I click off the recipe & back on it, i need to save again & it still doesn’t work. Despite this minor issue. Phenomenal app.Version: 6.4.1

I deconstructed itI had chard in the garden and found this recipe because I did a search for Swiss chard. I am a minimalist so this is what I did: chopped the chard and stems, sautéed them after the onions with the zest and garlic added at the same time. After a couple minutes I added 1/3 cup of white wine (because I had no broth), after a minute I added the fish and topped it with olive tapenade I purchased pre-made from our local gourmet market, squeezed over the juice of one lemon and covered the pan. Cooked for about 15 minutes added the tomatoes and cooked an additional minutes. SOOO easy, quick and good this way. Flavors were perfect together. And one pan making clean-up easy..Version: 6.4.6

A solid app.Since the application is free that's a sure bonus and all recipes are great but there are a few problems. It would be nice to see a converter or automatic conversions depending on where you live. The app also crashes time after time and this gets very, very frustrating. Some more countries could be added and regions could be separated. With the quantity and quality of recipes this is a great app but it still needs some improvement..Version: 0

DelightfulEpicurious is a feast for the eye and the imagination. It’s sensual! Even the fonts are creamy! I always learn something new, and it is #1 for usability..Version: 6.2.7

Very goodIt’s the only recipe app that I have kept.. it works for me... a load of choice.. it’s my go to for some of my favourite recipes that taste great and that I have cooked for other people who also have enjoyed the food!!.Version: 6.2.6

Greek PotatoesI love these potatoes and so do my kids. The only problem is having to take them out to add stock and then again to add lemon. When I’m making a multi course family dinner, I put all the ingredients in at once and skip the 3 steps to save me having to keep my timer going..Version: 6.3.0

"There was a problem communicating with Epicurous Servers......please try again later." I have been getting this error for months when I open my recipe book. Images and names of some of the recipes won't load. I then have to go into every recipe to find the one i want. I've deleted the app and re installed,no joy! I love this app and have been using Epricurious for well over 10 years but this is really frustrating!.Version: 3.0.5

Test of Time! by GoldenDownloaded this app months ago, wanted to 'test drive' it and after all this time it still crashes at the most inconvenient moments...usually when I'm looking through a selection of theme recipes or when I'm trying to create a shopping list! Yes there are American versions of ingredients with no English equivalents, would save me alot of time fishing around on safari, searching for alternative names for cilantro! Also, I agree with previous reviewer, weight n measures in the alternative would be ideal! On a positive note I have learnt more about the humble chilli dish and it's variations according to region. I have tried to cook a couple of the featured chillis from this app with moderate success...only wish that I could buy the mole/ancho chilli sauces from Britain! Nice to have recipes with some background to the chef and area of origin. I love the authenticity of some of the recipes and the new inspiring ones. This app is on my first page as I use it a lot..Version: 6.4.3

AmazingI really love this because I want to be a chef so this is helping me a lot.Version: 6.4.6

App will not openI have really enjoyed Epicurious over the last few years but now it refuses to open on my iPhone running OS14.4.2. What’s gone wrong? It’s it the latest version of the App or is it my phone that’s at fault? Paul..Version: 6.4.3

A REALLY great app with beautiful recipes and great functionality, even for those who use metric!I think this is one of the best designed iPhone apps I have used. I really like the ability to add the recipe to a shopping list. Search is useful. This is a well designed app, and worth the inconvenience of converting units. Besides, I would imagine a future update will probably address the unit conversion in some way or another I think most users would appreciate the overwhelming positives of this app. Give it a try if you love interesting and great recipes!.Version: 0

Need ability to search my recipe boxCons (most egregious first) - The app and website are missing full text search for my recipe box vs just recipe name. I am swimming in fresh mint but have to go recipe by recipe to find the ones with mint. - a while ago I lost my personal notes that I added to recipes. When it happened I was super annoyed, time has tempered this to quite annoyed. - the app doesn’t allow creating recipe reviews. The website does but This is annoying. Pros + good recipes and helped by ratings and cooks notes (though only cooks using the app) + matches the Bon Appetit print magazine which I appreciate for going to the store but bot having my magazine..Version: 6.4.6

Good but..According to the US CIA World Factbook in 2006, the International System of Units [metric system] is the official system of measurement for all nations except for Myanmar, Liberia, and the United States. [taken from wikipedia]. so cmon, cater for our superior system of units, and put in metric. then it will receive my 5 stars.Version: 0

Beautiful appLovely interface, dead simple to use, recipes are some of the best I've seen - beats googling around. It's only missing one  because WE NEED METRIC I'll definitely change my review when you add this simple feature. Till then, I'll have to stick with switching between the recipe and a unit conversion app..Version: 0

Massive, Flexible Recipe Source and Culinary TeaserSeemingly endless recipes in a flexible yet thorough and efficient database. Photo quality is excellent which adds to the tendency for me to search a certain recipe, and subsequently get lost on a culinary journey. I can honestly say that while I might not get exactly what I’m looking for every time (a ridiculous expectation), the myriad choices always give me food for thought. It sometimes ends up like going to the grocery store for a quart of milk. After wandering the store and picking out a dozen items, I check out, walk out towards my car pondering all the delicious things I will make only to realize as I turn the key in the ignition that I forgot the milk..Version: 6.4.6

Love itAll the recipes I’ve tried from here have been wonderful. Only criticism is I constantly have to convert measurements. :).Version: 6.2.7

One of the worst apps for a great websiteDear Epicurious, I strongly suggest that you eliminate your app altogether, particularly if you cannot keep it functional. That, or fire whoever is maintaining it for you and replace them with a qualified company. Adding all of your advertising to the app was bad enough, but now your app fails nearly every time I try to use it, booting me out before I can even finish typing in the search bar. Seems to me that if you are trying to attract people to your site, you would want to have this app fixed. In this day and age, any company that relies so heavily on consumers (pun intended) would insist that the app be top notch -- millennials rely on apps and you are carving yourself (ha ha) out of a huge potential future market. Zero rating--don't waste your time with this app, use the website instead..Version: 6.2.3

App crashes all of the timeThis app used to be top notch- and indispensable to my enjoyment of cooking from Bon Appetite for years. Now it crashes within minutes of opening. Very frustrating and disappointing. New subscribers beware..Version: 7.2.8

My Fav Website Since It Was Invented!!Seriously, I reckon I’ve been using this website for almost 20 years. The key is to sort by “Most Reviews”, to get the best recipes, in my humble opinion. Thank you Epicurious for all of your wonderful work!.Version: 6.2.7

Love itUnlike a lot of recipe apps this one has recipes that you actually want to try. Reviews are a great feature, often with good suggestions for slight changes that suit individual preferences. The addition of a notes feature to favourites tab would be great, to keep track of any changes you make/might make next time would be good. More inclusions in the 'cuisines' search would be good, to cover a broader range of cultural festivities, the Ramadan selection is pretty light on and there's nothing for Asian or Indian festivities. The conversion issue is easily solved by printing a conversion chart and keeping it in the kitchen..Version: 0

ImpressedI have not been using this for long but so far I am impressed. I'd like to see a better shopping list, like the ability to add my own stuff to it. And I might even pay for more sophistication here. But in terms of recipes and ease of finding easy and an interesting ones... I'm impressed..Version: 0

Quite American but lots of great featuresWould be good to have metric as well, but there's a great range of search options and recipes to choose from. I like the shopping list creator too. I hope you keep expanding the amount of recipes but I've really enjoyed what I have cooked from here so far. Nice to have reviews/ratings built in to the recipes. Maybe more pics of foods would be nice too..Version: 0

Creamy leek and potato gratinWell, I had leeks and potatoes but not in the quantities needed. Used ghee instead of butter and only had 1/4 cup of single cream and semi-skimmed milk......these are coronavirus times!! Anyway, the idea was there and it went in the oven with our chicken thigh Sunday roast. Absolutely delicious.......will certainly be making it again.....maybe with some added garlic. Thank you..Version: 6.4.1

Great app, some annoying thingsLove the app, love the recipes and it’s easy to use. However, (at least on iPhone) it doesn’t stay on the recipe I’m making when I navigate to a different app or my phone falls asleep. Not the biggest issue but definitely annoying to constantly have to find what I was just looking at..Version: 7.2.5

Great but could improveFor the price this should be one of the apps that everybody has. The only thing I would add is a timer feature to help with multiple things on the go in the kitchen. This would make it a go to app whenever a meal is being considered..Version: 0

I like this!Great app...sure,I'd prefer it if the ads weren't there but "there ain't no such thing as a free lunch" (or in this case..dinner,breakfast or cocktail either, heh) About the only thing I'd like to see added to this app is the ability to switch into different units. As a Brit, this crazy talk of "sticks" and "cups" confuses me. How about lbs & oz.? No need to add the more obscure units like hogsheads, furlongs, grams etc, though :-P I'm off to start cooking...thanks developers for a superb app..Version: 0

Wonderful app - possible to include metric measurements?I’m a big fan of Epicurious, but as an Australian also a big fan of metric measurements. Is there a way to include an option for metric measurements in the app settings? It’s a pain to convert for every recipe!.Version: 6.4.4

Love the app, except for the login issuesI use this app all the time. Great recipes presented in a clear, easy-to-read format. The user comments offer helpful suggestions for tweaking the recipes and avoiding pitfalls. It’s very handy to be able to save favorites to my recipe box—however... I can’t log in to the app on my iPad (though I can on my iPhone). That means I can’t access the recipe box, which is inconvenient and really annoying. I’m running the latest version of the app, which was supposed to have fixed these login problems. Neither changing my password nor reinstalling the app fixed the problem. I tried emailing Epicurious app support, but the email address they provided appears to no longer valid..Version: 6.4.2

Metrics pleaseNice idea, good selection but desperately needs metric conversion NOT as a separate calculator. It would be nice if we could also record adjustments and substitutions for each recipe both privately and to share with the community. Social cooking could be a real hit! Especially with people on modified diets (diabetic, sodium, kosher/halal). Maybe a TAGging feature..Version: 0

Beautiful UXEasy on the eye, not loads of clutter and showing-off, easy to use. One of the best user generated content apps I’ve seen. I would be an extremely proud developer if I’d been involved in this..Version: 6.2.7

One of the most well thought-out apps on my iPhone! This is simply one of the best apps I have. While I have yet to try any of the recipes, the app itself is great. You can quickly browse through the categories, or search for something specific. Then, when you get into the kitchen, just flip your iPhone on it's side, and it turns into a step by step, or clear ingredient list - perfect for those rushes in the kitchen!.Version: 0

Great app, but...So, I truly do love this app, but what’s up with it no longer allowing me to play the videos? I loved the videos, I thrived off of the videos, the videos made life just that much better. This problem started about a month ago and I hesitated to say anything thinking it was just a glitch or something but the problem persists... Please, Please, PLEASE fix it, I need you back in my life. And this is totally me just being extra but can you, one, please add more BA content and two, give us a way to search and possibly save videos. No biggie though. P.S. I still love you guys though so even if the problem doesn’t get fixed and what not, you have my loyalty and I am not going anywhere..Version: 6.4.3

Keep going - you're on the right trackI was so excited when I saw one of my favourite sites had done an iphone app. I think the functionality is pretty good - easy to browse - and I like the different ways you can search through the recipes. I agree with the other Brit reviewer - a way of converting recipes to British temps and measurements would be fantastic. My only real gripe at this early stage in its development is it keeps crashing - but I am sure you are all busily beavering away to fix that. Keep going - this app could be wonderful - and is already really good. Thanks for making it free!.Version: 0

Excellent!I’ve been using this app for over a year now I think it’s been, and I find it brilliant! I used to be really lost when it came to what to cook, and this gives me so many ideas! And I love that I can sort through different categories which makes it really great if you’re trying to lose weight or eat less carbs or find vegetarian dishes! Brilliant app!.Version: 6.4.1

Review from a 20+ year memberI’ve been an Epicurious member since the 1990’s and, until it was disbanded, an active voice in the Epicurious Forum. When the Epicurious Cookbook was in the works I was contacted to contribute one of my recipes which I’m happy to say appeared in the book (Sesame Noodles). Back then Epi was my primary source for new recipe inspirations and I loaded my personal recipe box with them. I still refer back to those on occasion but no longer visit the site as my primary source - it has been preempted by the NYT Cooking Site where I find the recipes more infesting and the comments more lively. It used to be much easier to upload a personal recipe to this site but it’s now too cumbersome to do so or to even go back and revise a previous one. I’m happy that those of us who met in cyberspace via the erstwhile Forum have been thriving in our private group on FB..Version: 6.4.1

HandyApplication works great and has been very stable. Unfortunately I cannot see what I’m typing here as the text is white so sorry for typographical errors. I am also using voice dicks on so it could come out weird or talk about coffee machines or something instead of what I meant. Anyway back to the review. I got a nice amount of stuff from this... I don’t really cook and this won’t get me cooking, but it will serve as very nice inspiration for my cook character who I write as. I know that sounds weird but it’s nice for creative writing when I can’t do things in real life. So thank you for making it free :).Version: 6.4.1

5 stars from AustraliaO yum I love all these spices in the recipe, first timer at gingerbread and smack - full of flavour. Just what I needed in this worldwide coronavirus19 lockdown 🥳.Version: 6.4.1

Great app - one feature requestI really like this app, it looks good and works well, the search function and filters are really helpful, and I have an ever growing list of recipes to try. One feature I would really like to see is the ability to link favourite recipes into an epicurious account, so that I can see the same list online and on my other devices. This would make the app 5-star!.Version: 0

Great appGreat app, love the shopping checklist you can cross out as you go through the supermarket.Version: 0

ReviewFound that they have good recipes and are nit too pushy. Recipes reliable. Good mixture of types of receipts. Have been with them for a lot of time now and will be staying with them..Version: 6.3.0

This app is mostly great........I just wish I was able to log into my epi account so it would sync across my iPad, iPhone, and the website. Otherwise, I like the shopping list feature, but not that I have to make sure that I either take the iPad to the grocery store (not likely to happen often) or make sure I replicate the list on the iPhone. The range of recipes is fantastic and the layout is very user-friendly..Version: 0

Love this app but NO METRIC UNITSAwesome app, lots of recipes, reviews, some have photos, if you tilt ur phone to landscape the screen stays on (so great for using while cooking) and to top it off the shopping list feature is GREAT - only problem is no auto conversion for metric system.Version: 0

Can't believe this is free! This is the best app I have on my iPhone (out of 7 pages of apps!) It manages to be inspiring, fun and useful all at the same time. I often use it whilst in the supermarket deciding what to eat that night but it's also perfect for finding great recipes for special occaisions. It's nice reading reviews of other peoples experinces with the recipes and these sometimes contain ideas for changing or improving the recipe as well as the occasional funny anecdote. Sometimes I just sit back and drool at the pictures with no intention of ever making the recipes. I  this on so many levels. Well worth a few £'s but all the more wonderful for being free..Version: 0

I’m sadI have been using this app for many years … sad to say I have to delete this app and lose all my saved recipes … I cannot afford the monthly subscription … I still rate it 5 stars … thanks for all the wonderful years of recipes.Version: 7.1.1

Great flavours and so easy!Love the sophistication of the recipes. Great to have recipes with amazing flavor, easy to find ingredients, & that are so easy to make. Am also enjoying the search refining functions and of course the shopping list..Version: 3.0.1

Yukon gold cinnamon rollsI am 77 and I have been making cinnamon Rolls for well over 50 years. Most of the time, they were real good. Cinnamon rolls are good. However, I will never make a different recipe than this one. They are THE BEST I have EVER made or eaten. Anyone I have shared them with agree. They are totally addictive. This time I did make a couple adjustments just for the sake of simplicity. Since the extremely soft, moist dough is one of the secrets of the clouds like texture, I would never change the proportions of the ingredients. This time I did put the dough in the refrigerator over night and shaped the rolls in the morning. It was much easier to handle and there were no ill effects whatsoever. I also melted the butter and brushed it on and then sprinkled on the cinnamon mixture. Thank you for the cinnamon roll recipe that I have been looking for for more than 50 years..Version: 6.4.1

Metric pleaseGreat for finding recipes eg what do I do when I have extra bunches of celery? - about to make soup! However, please can we have a version with metric measurements? Australia has been metric for so long, most of us have forgotten pounds & ounces!.Version: 3.0.1

Used to Love....DisappointedI have subscribed before and been a lover of Bob Appetit and Epicurious for many many years! I love the magazines, articles, menus, recipes and was thrilled when there was an app made available. Yes, there have been glitches along the way but nothing that drove me nuts until now. I use the app some what frequently but honestly would rather flip though my old magazines for inspiration unless I’m thinking something specific and want to search for that type item. Like today...thinking I’d love a dessert with pears as the star. So I search...pears...I find over 200 options. I’m so excited!! Until in disgust I give up after about 25 because out of those, other than a lovely table setting the only number that had an actual image of the recipe indicated that I was lookin for was maybe 2 or 3😳 What?!?! Isn’t that the whole point!! Don’t we eat with our eyes first!!!! I want to see what the recipe is talking about...what is it depicting? Is this something I want to make and serve? Come on Epicurious!!! You can do better than this...Version: 6.3.0

Very helpful appI really want to give this app 5 stars but just can't. It delivers so much - great variety and numbers of recipes, terrific ways of searching recipes, reviews from users that help improve the dish but having to exit the app to convert to metric in another app is really inconvenient in the middle of cooking and having had the app crash several times limits this to 4 stars for me. Having said that, Epicurious is a wonderful companion in the kitchen..Version: 0

Love this appLove this app but with the new update tho e app keeps crashing.Version: 6.4.3

AwesomeThousand's of recipes, delicous!.Version: 0

Only use is to be able to see recipies away from my pcI was looking for a shopping list. I use epicurious for around half my recipies, so I thought this would be great. It would be if all I used was epicurious and didn't need anything else. You are unable to add anything to the shopping list. You can not email to yourself so you can print it and add other things. All I can see that this is useful for is to allow me to either 1. see the recipies in the kitchen so I don't have to print them off, but I don't think I want to get food prep from my hands on my iphone or 2. So I could look at a recipe while I was out and about. Dear Epicurious, please come out with a pay version that ties into my favorites on your site and allows additions to the shopping list..Version: 0

Love it.Diverse collection of recipes. Love the layout of the app. :).Version: 6.4.1

Room for improvementI paid for the subscription never having used the app before so I am not in the group that lost all their recipes. I did however pay for a Bon appétit magazine subscription for several years and it seems like I’m paying twice for recipes I already paid for… I don’t have too many issues with the app itself. One thing that is an annoyance is if I have a recipe open and I need to switch between pages on my phone (browser, notes app, instagram, etc.) when I go back to the Epi app, it brings me back to the main page as if the app had been closed. Please fix it so that it stays on the recipe you were on!.Version: 7.2.4

Great recipesThe Epicurious app has great recipes. Many are from high end cuisine magazines, professional quality rather than amateur. They are easy to access and once found and tried out you can store the recipe on your iPhone. You can also share the recipes. I like the 4 fork rating system by users, it helps choose the best recipes. This is the only recipe app I use now, the others I have tried were no way as good. Thanks Epicurious..Version: 6.1.1

Great resourceI really enjoy this app! I always get inspiration from the plethora of recipes and especially like that I can search by ingredient when I’m on the fence about how to use up what I have on hand. I chuckle during nearly every video and am selfishly pleased when I find out I’m not the only person who does not know how to cut an artichoke. The weekly meal ideas are awesome and the reviews on products are almost always informative. My feedback to improve would be: let me comment on the recipes after I’ve made them - sometimes they turn out less than great and I’d like epicurious and their readers to know and/or advise what went wrong. Generally I’ve been happy with this app and look forward to what’s for dinner tonight!!.Version: 6.3.0

Love itI love the idea of this app. I love that you can select multiple recipes & create a shopping list, I would love to be able to email the shopping list to others too! One minor issue that ive come across is the sensitivity of the shopping list view as I often accidently check off items when I touch the screen to scroll through..Version: 0

Great app full of gems!Love this app! Easy to use and so many recipes to choose from. Although I don’t know how to leave comments on the recipes..Version: 6.4.1

My go to recipe appThis app is easy to use & has tons of delicious recipes with lots of reviews so you know if it's good or not. Also love the categories so can easily pick a quick & easy weeknight dinner recipe..Version: 5.0

Best Thing EverOMG Recipes Galore for me try and cook for my family.Version: 6.2.8

This app is a cooks absolute MUST HAVE!I am a serious cook with very discerning taste, so any old recipe just won’t cut it. Epicurious is my go-to place for all things yummy. If I eat something delicious at a restaurant I can usually find the recipe for the dish I liked on Epicurious. If I’m stumped for what to make for dinner on the weeknights I can find inspiration on Epicurious. If I’m looking for a show-stopper dish for literally any occasion I can find it on Epicurious! My one piece of advice is for new cooks to be aware that most of the recipes on this app are spot on, but I would definitely recommend reading through the entire recipe you’re considering making to make sure that it seems doable and that there aren’t odd curveballs to what you might be expecting (sometimes there are several variations of a recipe)..Version: 6.4.2

I hate ads, content is not freeI wrote another review complaining about the fact that you can't print the recipes but after poking around more, I am giving it 5 stars. They wrote back saying they were working on printing, hopefully that is true. I also noticed some clunky, and in my opinion, poorly designed functionality of the app. Like 'side dish' should be a pre-selected searchable category. And they should allow you to organize your saved recipes. And let you print them. But overall epicurious is a great recipe website. The recipes are just better, written by professionals whose job it is to write recipes. I love to cook, content is not free & it seems worth it to me. Also, I hate ads and it is great to see the content without it being covered up by ads. And the app & website, despite it's flaws seems pretty solid..Version: 7.1.2

Epi app having issuesI love this app and have had it for years only recently paying for a subscription. It has become very glitchy since then, doesn’t recognise me even after signing in multiple times. It also randomly closes suddenly Please fix so I can keep cooking all my fave recipes..Version: 7.1.7

Not bad but could be betterComing back after a long while not using the app — loved the iPad version to pieces 5-6 years ago! But now that some time has passed and I’ve gained friends with several severe allergies to dairy, seafood, and garlic (yes that is a thing), it’s quite frustrating the lack of granularity in being able to filter out certain ingredients based on certain allergies or dietary preferences. Also the search function appears to be a bit broken — I was looking up cinnamon rolls because a featured recipe caught my eye but I wanted to see what other recipes were available, and it said there were no recipes AT ALL, including said featured recipe. A bit confusing, that. I would love to see some more improvements in these regards!.Version: 6.2.8

Issue trying to sign inCan’t even get into the app on my iPhone. Enter my correct email and password and it throws me right back to the sign in page.... no error message.... nothing..Version: 6.4.1

Best recipe app for studentsI just started cooking and I love this app. It was recommended to me through my student diary and I have been using it ever since. There are some very useful articles, and the recipes are very well formated, allowing them to be really easy to follow. You can of course also save the ones you like. Anyway, a really good app..Version: 6.2.7

One of my favorite apps but...I use this app multiple times a week. As a Bon Appetit subscriber, it’s a great way to find and save recipes from the magazine. It’s also a terrific reference and source of inspiration, especially on those ‘what’s for dinner tonight?’ days. The search tools and photography are great and help to sort through a massive database of recipes. I own over 100 cookbooks but use epicurious more than any of them. That said, there is room for improvement. Most notably the app keeps crashing and giving me a blank white screen shortly after the initial content load since the most recent update. Also, I’m surprised that the developers have chosen to only allow reviews to be submitted through the website. I find reviews of recipes to be a very valuable feature since many of the reviewers are knowledgeable cooks, but I rarely contribute to this community because the app doesn’t allow it. Please fix the bugs and enable reviews Condé Nast!.Version: 6.2.8

Makes you look like a chefLove this app. Small suggestion: would be good to have a notes function in saved recipes to add alterations. Otherwise, this app is close to perfection!.Version: 6.2.5

Amazing!!!I really love this app. It gets me really excited about cooking dinner when I get home. (Even after a busy day).Version: 6.2.7

What happened with recipe bookmarks..OhOh, where is support?, and now can’t rate!Saving a recipe from an email to the app was always a bit clumsy and web/app sync never seemed to work. The frustrating workaround for me was to only save to the app after needing to launch it. Now it seems an email link won’t save to the app at all. Sync is fundamental...fix it up please. Update: Continuing to pursue this issue further at the directed email resulted in an invalid address response. So solid for long, nothing has changed on my end. My support request email seemingly not received: My web site has started to have many more recipes than my iOS app. I never paid much attention to the website count, but something now seems up with saving a recipe to the app from the subscription emails so the syncing became noticed. Yes, I use the same email login and have logged out/in of both several times. Most frustrating!! Next update: Further exploring how to get my “favorite after work app to enjoy”, actually sync so it’s useful, it now seems that the 'Rate in the App Store' selection is now unavailable. Great app, bad something!!.Version: 6.3.0

Great app. Wish it. Could be closer to the way it is onlineI love this app I used the app a lot and have told many friends about it. It’s a great source for quality relieves that you know are from trusted source and will always come out great. I receive the Bon Appetit magazine regularly and I often save recipes from the magazine on the app to be able to reference at other times. Online I am able to create folder categories, it would be nice to have this fester represented in mobile as well. I also cannot right reviews on the mobile version, which would be nice to able to do since I reference the app a lot. I have checked to see if there have been any updates and as far as I know I have the most update right now..Version: 6.2.7

Very good!Well presented and pretty easy looking recipes. Being a free app, there is quite a bit of advertising as it downloads the recipe from the net. I like how it saves the ingredients into a shopping list!.Version: 0

All iApps should reflect Epicurious design attributes.Having been a complete fan of Epicurious for the years it's been available, this latest incarnation is stunningly well designed, perfectly augmented for the User that even if you aren't peckish you most certainly will be by the time you've flicked through the gorgeous, illustrative photography. Their new filter setup is unchallenging even for the most IT-challenged. Epicurious? It's what the Kitchen has been missing..Version: 6.1

It's Good! It's Free Guys!!!I don't know what everyone is complaining about, is it really that hard to convert from Imp to metric, NO!! Some of the really great cook books I use are "old" and in Imp, I don't throw them away because of that. Great recipes, great ideas, great for FREE!!! get it..Version: 0

Missing recipes!!I'd say AVOID this app now, they clearly can't fix the problem - it's an ongoing issue. I have 34 favorites that I saved while using this app - only 12 of them show up after the latest update. Recipes are showing up with no Title, just a blank, and the picture is missing as well on most of them..Version: 3.0.6

Favorite App!This has become my absolute favorite app to cook with - I actually find it quite intuitive and everything ive tried so far (3/4 or 4/4) have been real winners. Only wish that I could save my filters so that I didn't have to input them each time - a small but relatively handy option :) thank you :).Version: 6.2.3

How to destroy an appA few years ago this was the best cooking app of all time - it is now but a sad shadow of its former self. There are few recipes, the search/filter function which used to be outstanding mostly retrieves no results or retrieves nonsensical results. Wish I could find out why exactly this has been ruined - was this some sort of marketing tactic? I really don't get it..Version: 6.1.1

Great recipesI follow the recipes closely and the stars ratings. Fantastic recipes always. Thank you..Version: 6.3.0

Amazing recipesAlways perfect! Love the rating system.Version: 6.2.6

Briliant app, shame it's not metricThe content of those app is great. Lots of wonderful ideas, all with easy instructions and lots of pictures. Being a computer how hard would it be to have this app auto convert units to metric? The lack of metric is the only downside, having to change out of the app to convert units is a real pain..Version: 0

Speciality cookingOk! I know the everyday basics but when you entertain the ‘epicurious’ is there for me!.Version: 6.4.3

Everything at your fingertips!I love Epicurious and the Epi App! It makes lists, sorts and files recipes and is basically everything you need to host a nice meal. It's easy. Plus, the user reviews are mostly from people who care about good food so they are generally well considered by experienced cooks. I throw a lot of dinner parties for friends but also for colleagues and finding new recipes to cook, knowing others have approved or improved the dishes really helps. Frankly, I couldn't live without it..Version: 6.2.0

Love it!My favorite recipe app! Enough said!.Version: 3.0

Nice appVery beautiful and easy to use app. Thanks!.Version: 6.3.0
