✓ User friendlyI’ve used other apps that do the same thing, this one is by far more user friendly and I don’t need to go back to the FAQs to try to figure out how to export my texts. Well worth the $4.99. As long as you follow the directions of downloading then it’s very simple. I like how you can choose the contact, date ranges, how to sort them, and what kind of file to save as. PDF is not an option but I exported as HTML then from there exported as a PDF from my Mac. ✓ This may be the best app you'll ever download.This is a real nifty piece of work. I'm a landlord and disputes often fall into the "who said what to who - and when". To solve this I had taken to sending tenants messages following any conversation with a precis of any agreements. This meant screenshoting, saving, printing out etc using endless ink and paper not to mention time. I found the app intuitive and easy to use. It provides a print out of indiviual text conversations or print-outs of your entire text history between dates of your chosing (post your first back up following installation). I cannot recommend this highly enough to anyone who may ever need proof that information has passed between themselves and anyone who they communicate with via text. I had to contact SMS Export customer services too because I am new to iTunes and didn't understand how to pay properly and their chap Fabrizio was back to me within the day with help and advice. ✓ Best download text appLove this app. I have been using it for the past 4 years. Paid $4.99 once. Can't believe how cheap it is for what you are getting! The app loads easily onto your desktop and then works perfectly. Very user friendly. No problems, ever. The only thing it doesn't do is download pictures that were sent via text. I have seen some text apps that download pictures in color. It does download emojis though. Before you download to desktop, you can select what text messages you want and the dates. Downloads into Excel, which makes it even easier to sort info later. Really awesome app, I recommend it for sure..Version: 2.0.1

Backup of every text ever sent and received from my iphoneI was concerned that this would be difficult to use after it was flagged up in the App store product description that you should download the software on the web first and then the app itself to your computer not your phone. I downloaded the app to my phone first & expected the worst....but it didn't happen! From the moment I hit the download button on the web site for the software it took 2 minutes maximum to the moment when I first saw the copies of all the texts I've ever sent or received on my iphone, over 5000 of them, in an Excel spreadsheet sorted by number. ✓ Read the instructions carefully!This is a great app for downloading texts -I needed to get all the texts for one number into a file and this allows you to filter on the number/name which is really useful. You need to download the free software onto your PC first and then purchase the software through itunes to download onto the PC. I was a doughnut and didn't read this bit properly and downloaded it onto my iphone and then wondered why it wasn't working. Luckily itunes is clever enough to recognise that I had already paid for it so didn't charge me twice once I had worked out my mistake. Phew!.Version: 0

✓ So glad I bought it - perfect result.I was able to do exactly what I wanted to do by buying this app: and that was to download my text messages to my PC, that were to and/or from all or certain people and to be able to easily and quickly keep this information in a spreadsheet. You need to follow the instructions written on the App's iTunes page, and follow instructions on the corresponding website - exactly - which I did - and got a perfect result. You don't need to interact with the actual loaded app on your iphone, as you might think - just read and follow the short procedure the developer has provided. Once in the computer program, after having imported the message data, I exported it as a .csv file - this file type meant that I was able to easily upload the data to Google Docs and save it off as a working Google Spreadsheet. After one false start (trying to export from phone to Mac without the software on the Mac), I tried again and had all my messages (i.e. those on the phone before I installed the software). ✓ SMS ExportLike most people who have written a review about this app, i never write app reviews but this app is brilliant. I needed to find an app to download text messages so that I could use them in a Court case. The instructions on how to use the app are a bit sparse but once I figured it out, all my text messages appeared and I was able to save them quickly and easily to my computer and then copy and paste them to Word. Sounds obvious but just remember to back up your iPhone first as, if you're anything like me, and you don't often back it up, the only texts you'll be able to get are those that were downloaded to iTunes when you last backed your phone up. ✓ Just what I was looking for!!!This works brilliantly even on iOS 5, I don't know what problems other people had (maybe a previous version)!! The app is really just there to make you pay for using their PC software. The PC software accesses your iTunes backup of the iPhone (so if you want recent messages sync first!) and opens up the messages stored in the backup (both SMS and iMessage and sent and received). I recommend going to their website, which is in the app description above, and downloading and RUNNING THE FREE PC SOFTWARE FIRST - this allows you to make sure the program can view your messages before you buy this app (the only thing you can't do is export them). Once you've made sure it can access your backup, buy this app in iTunes and restart the software, it will detect the app on your computer (I don't think you even need it on your iPhone) and then you will be able to export to CSV, TXT and HTML :) Note, iMessages are listed first so if you don't seem to have everything try further down!!.Version: 0

✓ This DOES work - very well.Like others, I ignored the negative reviews and bought anyway, chiefly because this is the only app I can see that exports SMS messages. I did have a little trouble getting it to work (hence four stars not five,) but I emailed Fabrizio and he replied immediately, and helped me fix the problem. With support like that I don't see that you can complain. In my case, I couldn't get the reader to see my SMS, but disabling the two "use address book" and "enable MMS" tick boxes on the right solved the problem. I now have all my texts (all 17,000) stored in a variety of formats on my Mac. You can also just export certain numbers if you wish. This app is very good and does what it says. Ignore the negative reviews - those who say it doesn't work, or it's just a viewer - they are just plain wrong. Good app and excellent service..Version: 0

A good feature for a future version would be to give the option of selectively exporting the messages you want (eg. I might want to select all messages from a certain month and just export those). BUT, a bit fiddly to get going, buy app first on desktop seems to work better (I bought app on iPhone first and then had to transfer to iTunes in a sync. Had very small glitch (my fault) where it took a few minutes for my Mac Desktop copy to show as Registered User so I could export my file of all my messages. But for me at least, the steps were pretty easy to follow without any problems, and once I got it set up, I was able to export messages very conveniently. ✓ The best of a bad lotIt seemed to be impossible to find a sensible way to transfer your text messages to a computer - I'd been searching for the last few hours and had nearly scratched my eyes out in frustration. Then I found this - and it's the only one available that works (for a PC, at least). The format that it exports the messages in is annoying (especially when I've become accustomed to the clean 'conversation/chat' method of grouping messages that my iPhone uses). Once this app. exports your messages, they appear in a long table, listed separately. Also, the app. claims to be able to export MMS... but it cannot. However, this is the only application that I've come across to actually export your messages successfully at all. So for that I'm grateful. If you need to transfer your SMSes, this is literally the only app. for PCs that can do it..Version: 0

✓ Pure Brilliance...I haven't written a review for any app that I have used but I felt this one needed the praise as it is fabulous. I have wanted to save all the SMS off my iPhone for about a year now and noticed this app months ago- when I tried to download though, windows 7 just kept saying could be harmful. This time however I have ignored it and it seems to have not done any damage or malicious content to my laptop. I have however used the app for my SMS, and now it's not needed I have deleted it, but will not hesitate in the future to use the app again. I have also saved all my messages as word documents, just to make sure nothing is public. Since I could do no more last night I went to bed. Support got back to me within hours, so i woke up to the resolution. When I exported the conversations with one number, it told me the number of text messages, exported all text messages in Excel Format. Can save individual conversations or groups to suit your filing structure requirements. Very handy to secure this information somewhere other than your phone. ✓ Preserving precious textsA really brilliant app and simple solution. I am thrilled to have found it. Does what it says and works well. As a longstanding Mac user I thought the problem of saving text messages on my computer would be solved when I switched to an iPhone. Surprised and disappointed to find that there was no easy access to my messages. After much research I eventually discovered my messages well buried and 'disguised' on my mac but the only way to make any sense of the data was to import them into a sql database. ✓ The Only SMS Exporter You Need!!After reading reviews of other text exporters I was pretty disheartened. None of them worked. Then I came acorss this one, and as you can see from other reviews, this one does. Not only does it work, but it's backed up by superb service and support. After a problem activating the paid version on my desktop (my fault, not the app's) I got in touch. Within 24hrs I had the solution sent to me and everything is working. A few simple steps of plugging your phone into the computer, backing up to itunes, and then open SMS Exporter and press two buttons. All your texts sent to Excel, neatly arranged in columns and rows. ✓ Works as advertisedI bought the app, followed its directions, including installing its desktop app on my MacBook, and it worked on the first try. I was able to export into a text file and a spreadsheet on my Mac a seven-year-long SMS conversation that existed only on my iPhone, Including message timestamps etc. I could find no other, or more convenient, way to do this. The other apps out there want you to stitch screenshots - yeah right. The filtering capabilities in the desktop app were very helpful, and I liked the choice of export formats. I had a bit of a hassle turning off encrypted iPhone backups in iTunes, but that’s not the app’s fault. ✓ Does just what it says.You have to install it on your phone, on iTunes on your PC, and download their application for the PC. Once you do this, it works exactly as they said it would. I searched for a while trying to find something to transfer my SMS files ok my phone to my PC and all the apps were $30 but this one did it for $5. Also, I had difficulty with it recognizing that I purchased the app at first. I emailed the support staff and they responded in 53 minutes with a solution that helped me get past my problem. I would definitely recommend this app if you are looking for a cheap way to get you texts from you phone to your computer. ✓ It actually works - very well!Hi - I have to say I was cynical about whether this app would work. However when I used it the product extracted over 36,000 texts in less than 20 seconds, dropping them into an excel spreadsheet. What surprised me was that i had upgraded to an iPhone 6 last year, but the app extracted texts all the way back to 2011, and included all the iMessenger messages etc. Ok it doesn't do photos, but it has been invaluable collecting evidence for a court case to recover my children after they were kidnapped by my ex. ✓ A little confusing but it worksHaving lost my partner and getting a new phone, I needed a way of documenting our time together and not letting it go. This app was a savior that made my day and break down into tears once i succeeded. If you follow the steps, it works! Tho I ran into a couple hiccups, but emailed the company to get a response within 24 hours, which they included screen grabs and a better description as to what I was missing. Only thing I would suggest is letting the user know, to go into settings and allowing the app to do its thing. This was told to me later and had that been stated I never would of bothered the developer. Once a week I hook my iPhone up to my mac and hey presto all my messages (or selected messages) are backed up, I can choose a variety of formats to save them depending on what I need to use it for and they are easily accessible when I need to look up what I texted months ago. If you like your APP’s to look as ‘polished’ as ‘Angry Birds’, then this is not for you but if you need a functional system to be able to keep ‘usable’ copies (ie not in an iTunes backup) of your iPhone SMS messages, this is great! Not sure if the developer reads these reviews but if so, one enhancement to the ‘Export’ File name that is generated would be the addition of the date range chosen for the export. Followed your instructions re: installation and everything seems to have worked well, and I've now got a nice spreadsheet with all my texts in for safekeeping. One or two little niggles remain; for example in the exported list of messages, the program had assigned one of my contacts' names to all the random automated texts one gets from various services eg delivery notes etc. (actually my most recently created contact) so not sure what that was about. And where I have a contact with an entry for "Company" it put that in the address field with the name also. Furthermore, there seemed to be some glitchiness around the MMS events in my phone's backlog, in that it would sometimes miss the associated text. But nothing that's really been critical. At the end of the day this "app"/program does what it says and seems to do it well. Would be really great to have some way of incorporating the in-line MMS stuff more fully; I get the associated text (in most cases) but it would be nice if the program grabbed the images and things as well - I don't know if that's even possible though - certainly would create some difficulty in exporting to csv etc, and it's no trouble to save the images to your camera roll as they come in, so I can live without that for now!
