✓ GolfshotThis is a great app. Saves money and time. Only downfall is my iPhone battery which didn't quite make 18 holes - but that is my problem and I'm dealing with it. The distances are quite accurate for normal golfer - I was never more than 4 metres different to a sureshot dedicated unit. ✓ Love the statistics functionalityGreat app for golfers who love to see their statistics. The statistical function is great as it not only provides your overall statistics but you can check them on a round by round level. The distance measurement on the gps function is also very accurate although it does chew up a lot of battery life in the round. I use this app in Australia and it is has provided a great alternative to purchasing a golf gps for a fraction of the cost. All your golf statistics are also available on the website once your account is set up and allows review at your leisure. I Highly Recommend this app as a golf gps.Version: 3.4

✓ Everything was fine until I upgraded to version 1.2When I puchased this app I felt like it was the best app out there for tracking your score, checking a hole's properties, and viewing an aerial photo of one particular hole. Since the upgrade, downloading the aerial photo of the hole has become so much slower because Google requires their maps to be downloaded anytime it is used instead of having it saved in the system's cache. So for each hole I have to wait about 35 secs to 2 minutes for the photo to load. Too long. I wish I had never upgraded. Great app nonetheless..Version: 0

GPS is sometimes difficult and slow to pick up location, which can be frustrating when your need to work out yardage quick. Worth the price though. Otherwise would have given a 5. ✓ Why buy a GPS?I downloaded Golf Shot a couple of years ago but hadn’t used it much until I started to really take my golf seriously recently. The app is incredibly easy to use, easy read on the course, even wearing my long distance prescription glasses, but best of all it’s pretty accurate with distances. We compare our different GPS units enough for me trust this 100%. I don’t bother with score card etc, just the distances. One of our group has now put away his $250 unit and has bought this app. I use it on an iPhone 5 - 40% battery usage over 4 1/2 hours. It's a great system and my handicap is dropping because of my improved short-game, thanks to Golf Shot..Version: 3.5.4
✓ Excellent app that really helps my golf gameI’ve had this app for years but didn’t have an Apple Watch. I used it, but it was a little difficult to use on my phone - I didn’t want to take the extra time. Once I had an Apple Watch, it was an entirely different app. Super easy to use with my watch. Then they released the auto shot tracking and wow! Game changer! It is so fantastic for a novice golfer. The data it provides is invaluable on the course and the stats it tracks really helps me better my game. I even share them with my golf coach who was also impressed. ✓ Great appThis is a pretty awesome app. The gps uses google maps format but you can zoom right in so you don't miss any detail. Stats package is easy to use and gives enough info ... Unless you're a stars nut in which case you might be left wanting more. The only problem I found was that the handicapping system doesn't work properly if you select the Australian system... It's due to the fact that the slope rating hasn't been introduced here yet... If you change it to the UK system, it seems to work ok... Overall great value.Version: 0

✓ Still one MAJOR bug but great potentialI have been using this software for many years and like it, however there is still one MAJOR bug in the handicaps system which simply means that it won't count handicaps correctly when scoring. (and I'm not talking about the auto-handicap feature, I'm talking about a real handicap). For example my handicap is 18 which any golfer would know gives you 1 shot per hole, however GolfshotGPS gives me 20 shots per round. No matter which course you play it just doesn't count handicaps properly. Does it for every golfer you score for as well. Makes it very difficult as a scoring system but does work well as GPS. If you want it to work for scoring you basically have to keep changing peoples handicaps until it gives you the correct number of shots per round. Very frustrating. I have sent detailed feedback with screenshots to the developers months ago an they have confirmed it as a bug, but nothing seems to change. You should really update your review to be fair to other potential buyers. ✓ Great AppI have used this app twice since getting. The 1st time was 9 holes and my battery went from 100% to 27%. The next time I followed the directions and did 18 holes and my battery is 62%. I have found that the distances are very accurate and the program works quickly. This is the most expensive app that I have purchased but in value it is the best. ✓ Perfect GPS without blowing the budgetDoes exactly what it needs to do. Helps with course management, you learn how far you carry/distance with each club. I have an iPhone 4s, I make the screen full brightness, and would generally end up with ~50% battery. I don't use the scorecards etc, just the gps functions. At least 4 times I changed club selection because of what the gps was stating and each time I had the right club giving me more birdie chances. The best part is when your on the wrong fairway(semi regular) it gives the right yardage to the heart of the green. Instead of guessing through the trees I picked the right club on put it on the green. Some of my playing partners have the $300-$400 golf gps units and this unit for the money is right up there. I played a small course in Ireland recently that was not in the app’s database, and found myself glancing at my watch for the distance. I was able to send support the scorecard and photos from the course’s flip-chart guide. Within a few days the course was added! They also added/renamed another course in Ireland that I knew well in advance that I would be playing. The app is fantastic, and the service is extraordinary. Nothing else I’ve tried comes close. I do have the Pro version and it’s worth every dollar. I have only one request, and that’s to export the “flyover” track shot video. ✓ Excellent Golf GPS and shot trackingI’ve used Golfshot exclusively for 8 years. GPS distances are extremely accurate, scoring is seamless, use ability is great. The Apple Watch integration with auto shop t tracking is fantastic. It’s great being able to track all of your swings and see how far the ball is traveling. A couple of things to work on: the handicap posted on the front page does not differentiate between a negative and plus handicap. In the equipment section, it would be great to more easily see how far the average distance is for each club based on the auto shot tracking. Currently, it shows a distance if you were to edit for manual distance, instead of the average of your tract shots, this is very annoying since the whole point of tracking shots is to be able to get this information at a glance. Found out that many of the yardage stakes were out by as much as ten yards. I use an adaptor from my remote buggy as the app functions best when auto lock is off This will not last 18 holes. ✓ Great AppI have used Golf Shot for 4 games so far, and it is exactly what I was after. Even though it is expensive by App standard, I was considering a dedicated GPS device of rangefinder which are way more expensive, so I consider it a real bargain. I have been using the standard GPS view and scorecard functions and find them really easy to use. I had read about concerns over battery life, so I make sure my iPhone 4 is fully charged before a round, but I haven't used more than 30% of power per round (i.e. hasn't gone below 70%) I have found it really useful in accurate distance measurement, particularly when off fairway. The automated scoresheet and shot analysis is also a great way to make you think about your game and to track improvement (hopefully).Version: 3.2

But it would be even better if it had a way to track first putt length so I could track strokes gained putting. Knowing the first putt length is critical. Making a two putt from 45 feet is good. My mate has a dedicated GPS he bought from a golf store and has only 5-10 courses loaded at one time. Any more courses and he pays for that above the $250+ he paid for the unit. The accuracy is fantastic, even in areas where I get poor phone coverage. The aerial imaging is perfect, I just love it thank God I never bought the dedicated unit. ✓ Shot option all it needsI love this and look forward to increasing my database to see how I can improve. Even now from two rounds I can see that there is no point having an adjustable driver, I have approx 30% of drives either left right or on the fairway. Information I was not aware of before. I thought I was a slicer. The only thing I would want to add is the option of a button that you press after every shot. ✓ Four Time TriHard Champ!What a great app! Never before have I had the measurements given to me so accurately, just like I had my own caddie! While I've won the last 4 tri-hard season trophies, I'm sure now having golfshot will give me an advantage over beau dentro (who now has a car, but no gps). Although once I'd shown how great this app was to Habibi he begged his wife to allow him to get it. And after months of groveling, now he too will share the advantage. Love the measurements to front and back of green, and knowing layups in front of water and bunkers has helped me reduce my handicap to 2.3! ✓ Great multi-use AppI have been using this app for years. Mostly at first for the GPS feature when playing. Accurate to the accuracy of my I-Phone’s gos. Now I track shot lengths per club and rounds per course. Once distance put in, it will help suggest club to use. Distances can be historic by tracking or manually entered per club. As a club builder and the owner of 3 name brand sets and 3 non-branded sets, I also track my clubs as they load all the club varieties into their software. So what I have in my bag or have retired are available. I have even worked with there group to add non-branded clubs to their list. However, the recent upgrade which included WHS changes rendered the scoring functionality unusable. The application automatically calculate playing handicap, but fails to recognise handicap adjustments applicable for various competitions or variations to WHS in certain countries. As such, the playing handicap calculation is very often incorrect and there is no easy way to set the correct handicap for the round. Can we please have an option to turn the automatic playing handicap calculation off, so we can set the correct handicap for each round manually..Version: 5.63

Postives are accuracy of distances, layup distance advice, ease of inputting results and email of card to home computer. Negatives are relies on Google earth for mapping course and it is not up to date for some courses (e.g. new bunkers not shown), sometimes switches off (this may be the Iphone issue), sometimes in overcast weather cannot find satelites and battery life of the Iphone (sometimes doesn't make it around the course). I have overcome the battery problem by purchasing a solar/booster battery for the Iphone. I am very pleased with this purchase and it does all I want from aGPS system at a reasonable cost. ✓ Complete PackageI have a Sureshot GPS and this application Golf Shot GPS. Golf Shot GPS is as accurate as the Sureshot but this application is a little slower to adjust to the length of shot, only by 5 seconds. Then it has the golf stats package which is far better, it stores a large amount of games and emails each game at completion to your round. I use the stats package every game and the gps is a great backup as I already have my Sureshot. If you are looking to buy a GPS use this first you won't beat it on price and even if you don't like the GPS for distances the stats package is a must, you will always have the GPS as a backup when you forget your other device. The readings are accurate when the GPS has a consistent connection, so be sure to set it to sleep in the GPS mode as it takes time for correct readings otherwise - but these aren't faults of the app itself, just teething with the GPS. The scorecards are easy to use and the stat readouts are clear and informative. The only stat missing is first putt distance. This is a vital stat that I'd like to see added. I find that if you leave the programme running and turn off the screen between uses the battery lasts OK with approx 10% battery per 9 holes. Alot of guys are using the SureShot and Sky Caddie GPS's, but are now starting to think (realise !) WHY they have overspent on an expensive (dedicated) GPS, when they could have had MORE !!!! ...much more !!! To check out the recent scorecard over a coldie at the 19th, see stats, charts, then e-mail mates - are just some of the great features of the App. OK, I admit, it takes a few extra seconds to settle distance to hole, and there's a battery saving issue with the iPhone, BUT... carefully managed over a standard, or 4.5 - 5 hr round can get you around any Course with (at least) 50% battery to spare. ✓ Responsive TeamI had been using Golfshot + for several weeks and was happy with the program. The listed tee choices was lacking the tees that I recently changed to. I moved from the gold tees to the combo tees. I contacted GS and to my surprise, I had an almost instantaneous response. I was asked to supply a copy of the score card to showcase the combo tees. It wasn’t but a few days before I got another email telling me that the combo tees were added to the choices of available tees. I re-synced the courses in my iPhone and there it was. ✓ Inexpensive GPS yardageCheaper than watch or laser. I have yet to find a course that they don’t have- everything from the worst dog-track munis to private clubs, even overseas courses. You can pick a location if there’s multiple greens. It will track shots if you want, will count your scores if you enter them and want the analytics. The best use is really the simple yardage and overhead view of the hole (“oh yeah, there’s a creek up there before the green”). The issues are minor and are really GPS related... sometimes the GPS can get a little wonky and give reads that are off. And you have to have your phone on you, which isn’t ideal. ✓ Golfshot GPS review.Great app but not without faults. I have found this to be accurate and the facility to 'see round corners' for shots over dog-legs etc is fantistic. Problems are the GPS takes too long to lock in with yardage and the battery consumption is crippling. Also the stats are a bit limited - e.g. doesn't record the difference between chips and pitches or if you missed a par 3 green short, long left or right. Particularly after reading others' tales of misfortune with the new version. I have to say I like the new version and haven't had any issues with it. Good points include: it forces you to plan where you want your next shot to land before giving you the distance to that spot (in addition to giving you distances to the centre of green, and to hazards); expanding the birds-eye view map using 'zoom' gives a very good view of the hole being played; distance accuracy remains good; and battery usage is reasonable. Yes - it's different from the old version we all loved, but such is life. GolfNow tee time booking; tips and drills; scorecards; and news are features of no interest to me, so I ignore them. My previous lifetime payment appears to have been carried over to the new version, certainly I am able to use the app without having made any further payment. The interface is so simple, it takes 5-10 seconds per hole to update your score, clubs used, penalties, number of putts and how accurate your driver is. Secondly, it works really on my Apple Watch to a point where sometimes, I will just use the watch app only and leave my iPhone in my bag. And finally, if your local golf course changes the handicap, the name of the course or your club is not on their database, just create a ticket via the app and you will receive a reply very quickly and a resolution. ✓ Excellent[V1.5] I've had this app since it was first available in NZ. Had only 2-3 courses then, now nearly all are loaded. Vendor is VERY responsive (courses added overnight when requested) and is updating application on regular basis. GPS distances are usually very accurate and even with 3G is pretty quick. Easy to use on golf course. [V2.2] Apps continues to be developed. Latest changes around setting up golfers and Go to hole are big pluses. Still needs facility to edit GOLFER handicaps once round starts as often you don't get the latest info before you start. Since IOS 4.x was released have had intermittent problems with GPS not working...is fixed by restarting phone...even then can be slow at times (I have a 3G/16Gb). Despite this issues this is a great app with all the supporting infrastructure. [Note (Mar2011] this is a 3G issue and despite lots of support and suggestions from Golfshot it never really worked properly after IOS 4. came out] [V2.5] Finally got my iPhone4. The previous issues have all disappeared and the app works really well. Satellite sync takes less than a second and mostly pinpoints to the distance immediately. Display on iPhone4 very good and much clearer than on iPhone 3G. Really you need a 3GS or 4 for this to work properly. My biggest issue is the lack of ability to edit handicaps once round has started. Quite often I don't get them until we're finished the first hole or on the second tee. ✓ Golf shot review around AustraliaThis app is very well structured and very easy to use within Australia. I travel the country weekly with work and would consistently be playing at least one game if not two per week, with this app. I would recommend it to anyone who is wanting to improve their game and looking for an edge when playing at different courses. Review GPS: I've used it at various courses throughout Australia and the clarity of the pictures through to the metres from tee to green is a massive help. ✓ SuggestionLove the app and it works great with the Apple Watch. In Canada thanks to hockey you have a lot of left handed golfers. Usually at least 2 on a foursome, I’ve golfed with all 4 guys left handed. So tracking with the watch on the left wrist for left handed golfers would be great to add. ✓ Best Value Golf GPS Yardage AppSeveral years ago my “techie” golf partner introduced me to Golfshot Classic, which evolved into Golfshot Plus(+) as it is called now. Works great on every course I’ve played, accurate, easy to read yardages and, which I especially liked, just a one-time cost and that’s it. Golfshot also offers a more robust version called Golfshot Pro, with a lot more features - also reasonably priced- but I only needed the yardages, so I’m sticking with Golfshot + for now. I highly recommend this golf app. BTW, I’m a 14 handicap. A couple of my golf league buddies use Garmin GPS golf yardage watches, etc. and my Golfshot + is every bit as accurate as theirs at a quarter of the cost. ✓ Best Golf GPS by far!I have tried many gps golf apps and 2 gps hand held devices. This app is the best I have come across in an extensive search. I have played it now for nearly a year, without any issues. It is very accurate and simple to use, it won't take you long to figure it out. I have played it at several courses with ease . If your phone is fully charged( I use my iPhone) then you will have enough juice to last a round however, I set my default display time to 2 minutes before the screen goes into power save mode ( the same as using the phone in normal mode). I have a back up portable charger bought from eBay for about $20 which I used once when I forgot to charge my phone. All good. This app is very very good. ✓ Worth every penny.I’ve used other popular golf apps since I’ve started playing golf and this by far is my absolute favorite. I DO NOT play a round without it. It’s yardage is accurate. It’s interface is simple and easy to use and I absolutely love the compatibility with the Apple Watch. It was a game changer. My favorite feature is the track shot. I can track all my shots and the app automatically gives me average overall distance for every club. And when you hit a great drive with your buddies you can show them exactly how far they go. ✓ Great app, missing 1 key feature, preload course(s)Have used this app for a few years and have enjoyed it. Three enhancements I would love to see: 1) Preload a course or two into memory for those travelling to courses outside their service zone. As a Canadian I love to play in the US, but to activate data roaming is exhorbitantly expensive. So it would be extremely beneficial if I could load a day's worth of course info into memory so I can use it when I travel. Most courses & resorts have wifi so wouldn't need to load more than a day or two's worth of courses. Would also reduce broadband data usage when at home. 2) Connection to local golf association (Golf Canada, USGA, etc) for syncing of scores, attesting & handicaps. 3) Better battery life. ✓ Power in the stats; iPad interface rocksIt would be difficult to improve on this app, because the developer has found a perfect balance between access to features and ease & speed of use. Quick and easy enough not to be a distraction on the golf course, and complex enough to give good info for course strategy. What surprised me after a season of use is how valuable the statistics are. On the iPhone and on the website, I have great info about how my game is progressing and where are my weak areas. The new update includes an iPad version which has a new way to look at my statistics and compare my stats versus other players with a similar handicap. I would not use my iPad on the golf course, but the high-resolution areal-view on the iPad interface makes for a great tool for getting an overview of a new course and planning yardage with the handy touch-to-measure feature that works on both iPhone and the higher-res iPad versions..Version: 2.5

✓ Excellent app, but…After removing clubs and restarting app clubs are back. Hmm… Whoops! User error. Seems to be working now. The only problem is that when clubs are removed thel tracked, shots are still there, and that is what I was really after. Alas there is no way to delete all tracked shots, they must be removed one by one (there’s an enhancement for you!). Although, I think I’ve found another way - delete the rounds! Down side: I have over 300 and there is no way to delete all rounds. Again, they must be deleted one by one, but I’m okay with that. I’ll just save the one I want to remember, like the three years I’ve shot my age, and maybe the last 20, which is all I want tracked shots anyway. Tracks my handicap for me, and shows stats on how I’m doing in various categories. Get the GPS... even though it’s relatively expensive (please don’t increase the price). Has a few types of games you can play (skins, Nassau). Would be great if they could add more games... (banker or round robin). Also, this app allows you to track your shot distances (if you pay for the GPS). Which is great at helping you understand the ranges for how far each club will hit the ball. A potential feature that would make this app unbeatable would be if the developers could also factor in altitude of each course into how far your ball travels. Again... great app!! ✓ Great app but booking tee times could be betterI love this app, I use it everyone I go golfing and find the distances accurate and the flyovers amazing on courses I’m unfamiliar with. I am by no means a professional but casually play with friends and colleagues and this app keeps me on the straight and narrow. The pro version is worth it for detailed distances on Apple Watch and club suggestion. The only problem comes when you try to book tee times through the app there are so many courses missing it’s not even funny. For example I live in St. Andrews and cannot book any of the 7 courses there and struggle with lots in the area such as the Dukes, kingsbarns, Craig, Anstruther, Charleton or Earlsferry..Version: 5.41

✓ Great app...great teamI’ve been using this app for some time. I’ve been with it while it’s gone from a really good GPS app to a first class golf management tool. It keeps my handicap, it gives me AR views of the course, as well as flyovers of each hole. It tracks my swings, clubs, and gives me a full range of statistics. I’ve also contacted the folks at Golfshot on multiple occasions, and they couldn’t have worked harder to help me out. As I just passed 600 rounds captured on the app, it saves every one so that I can look back at rounds that I’ve played with friends. ✓ Pretty GoodI've been using this app for about 3 weeks now and reckon it works really well. It has all the local course listed in my area when I boot it up though I've only used it while playing my home course(in Australia). The GPS is really handy when there aren't any distance markers like when you happen to end up on the wrong fairway which I do often and need a distance to green. One annoyance is it doesn't have options for stableford or par rounds which makes it kind of difficult to record your results. It would great if you get that up and running. Also, I think it maybe lacking input for approach shots into the green (on Par 4's and 5's) like whether you hit them or you were short, long, left or right. ✓ Best Customer Service Ever!!!I’ll be honest, I haven’t even had a chance to use the app — I’ll write a separate review when I do. I am giving 5 stars to Golfshot for its amazing customer service! When I initially downloaded my home course to the app, I was dismayed to find that major course changes made years ago (e.g. renumbering the holes) were not reflected in the app. Additionally, the course was incorrectly identified as a 9-hole course, and only 1 set of tee boxes was given (there are 5). These errors made the app unusable at my course. I contacted customer service, but was not hopeful, thinking this would take months to get straightened out, if ever. I got an email back from Golfshot asking me to provide a picture of a current score card, and a screenshot from Google maps of an overhead view of the course, with the needed changes indicated. I sent them the images, and in less than 30 minutes they had everything updated and corrected, and I was able to see the changes in the app! That is awesome!!!! ✓ Question on update to iOS 14 and Apple WatchPrior to iOS 14, when I fired up GolfShot+ and opened the app on the watch, I would get a Golf workout showing up in my Activities. It provided, among other things, a nice easy way to know the duration of my round. In the Activity app on the iPhone, it shows the GolfShot icon, so I know GolfShot had successfully integrated itself with Activities. After I updated my iPhone to iOS 14, using GolfShot+ no longer registers a Golf workout in my activities. I’d like to have that show up again, but don’t know what controls that. Is that iOS or GolfShot? Can a developer chime in to provide some insight? BTW, I’ve been using GolfShot in one form or another for almost 10 years.
