Barnes & Noble – shop books for Negative User Reviews

Frustratingly slowThis update is terrible and better described as a downgrade. It has slowed down and almost runs like visiting the mobile website. I purchase books online frequently and mainly downloaded the app to save my login information so That I don't have to deal with logging in every time. However this app requires that you log in every time despite shaving the "remember me" option. The search bar disappears from the top of certain pages and only after hitting the back button several times can you get back to another search. Not to mention each page takes twice as long to load as just going on an internet browser on your device. All in all, more annoying to use that safari..Version: 3.1

A spectacular failureIt’s hard to believe a respectable bookseller like B&N would deliver an app with so many flaws, though the company has a long history of creating terrible software and websites. The number of flaws I encountered just trying to set up my account, one of which required re-booting my phone, was literally breathtaking: I gave up and deleted the app. As a former, long-time employee of the company, I can say absolutely that B&N has no reason to be in the software development business, and never has, both for company facing software or public facing applications & websites. Shameful..Version: 3.1

UhmI love Barnes & Noble. Really I do, but with my schedule getting to the store isn’t the easiest thing to do. So I love that they have an app for easy access...but I hate this app. It’s just not functional for people that like to make purchases through the app. The fact that I can’t even buy books for the nook (their own product) on the app is laughable to me. I can order books to my home....at a snails pace. It honestly might be quicker for me to just write my own book. This app could be amazing. It could be a book lovers dream. But it doesn’t seem to me that they cared enough to create a good app, let alone an app that would function. Barnes & Noble you’re great. But this app is trash..Version: 3.1

Get With The Times...So, Barnes & Noble, an update to your app for the iPhone X/XS/Max’s screens would be REALLY appreciated... Especially since it’s been almost a year since the X was released, and the app still hasn’t received an update for the X’s screen... Also, the app could use a lot of work on its’ responsiveness, as I tried to do a search for an item recently, and I had to give up on the app as all I got was a spinning wheel. So, I instead went to use my phone’s web browser for the search, as I got a much better response doing so. What’s your app development teams motto... Better never than late?!?.Version: 3.1

Must be a jokeIs this app a joke? It’s so so so bad. Takes forever to load even though I’m using an Xs _and_ on super fast WiFi. I sometimes get notifications about this-or-that and check in once a month and each time I cringe. Almost faster to just access the homepage on a browser than try to use this clunk or poo. It’s like the secretary for the B&N CEO casually mentioned one day that her nephew—who is in middle school—could build apps and would like to do it. So the CEO decides to take a shot on the little scamp. Beyond that he gets to save some serious dough by not having to hire a legitimate professional developer, right? What a joke And it shows. Seriously shows. Terrible. They should just pull the app down if it’s this bad an experience. Honestly it’s hurting their brand more than helping..Version: 3.1

BadWon’t ship to Canada. Very annoying, especially since it just says they can’t ship to PO boxes (what)?.Version: 3.2

Not pleasedI will not use this app again, I used to use it all the time, my phone went toast and ended up getting iPhone guess what downloaded (during this period nook came out) it logged in and all book on-line no longer exist. Spent alot of money on books..Version: 1.0.1

Could be great but...This app has the potential of being great but it’s DECENT AT BEST. Maybe a tier below DECENT. My complaints are primarily: 1. Ridiculously slow 2.No BACK button or arrow that takes you back through all the authors and books you’ve searched for. For example say you look up an author who has written many books with multiple additions, than you find the best edition, you click it, choose the format such as hardcover, decide to read a review before buying. BUT THAN AS YOUR GOING TO CLICK PURCHASE YOU ACCIDENTALLY CLICK ON AN ADD OR B&N COUPON. Your now forced to do the search and 3FILTER3 all over again 3. The filter is only useful if you want to search for the new/old releases and High/lowest cost. I don’t like 4ebooks5 4. If you click book on the filter it doesn’t filter ebooks out. 5. A general search consist of way to many ebooks. It’s annoying having to change the format AND ESPECIALLY INFURIATING TO FIND A BOOK YOU REALLY WANT OR THAT ATTRACTS YOUR INTEREST TO FIND OUT IT IS only available in ebooks..Version: 3.1

Lazy development and poor designLast update was 2 years ago!!!!! What major public company neglects their mobile app!!?!? The first thing I notice is the OLD iOS UI that reflects older iPhone aspect ratios. Secondly, the app utilized B&N’s MOBILE SITE AS ITS ENITRE UX AND UI!!!!!! WHO DOES THAT IN 2019 ?!?!??— let alone back in 2017 when it was put together. I swear the digital team just sends its monthly reports with numbers showing “hey, look! This many new people downloaded our app! It must be popular and good! Nothing to see here!” Wretched cranks. Then again maybe it’s budgetary reasons. But even so, you can pay a high school student a few thousand dollars to make something better than this. This is ridiculous..Version: 3.1

I’m very disappointed.Don’t get me wrong I absolutely love Barnes And Nobles! I go there to get art supplies and my manga. And the staff there are very helpful and friendly. But,the app is horrible and very glitchy. Whenever I open the app to see if there are any deals on books,(mainly manga *cough*) it takes way too long to load! And ordering on the app is a complete disaster! This app is definitely broken but, I’ll continue going to the stores instead. I only gave it a two star so people would see my review before buying on the app,or installing it..Version: 3.1

Just...whyYou download the Nook app to conveniently read your books on any device. You realize you want to purchase a new book, but oh! Wait! The Nook app will not support that. You are told you must use your Nook or the Barnes and Noble website to purchase a Nook book, the app is not efficient enough to handle this on its own. You decide it would be much more convenient to use the Barnes and Noble app instead of manually going to their website via your mobile device. You download this app, log into your account, locate the book you’ve been wanting to purchase for the past 20 confusing minutes...only to be told that this app does not support Nook purchases. Please just create a singular app where you can actually purchase Nook books and read them as well. After all this mess I’d rather spend my time writing this review bashing B&Ns hideous job than actually buying anything I intended to from them. Do yourself a favor and stay away from all their apps..Version: 3.1

Useless in CanadaMight be a decent app if I could use it for it's intended purpose..Version: 1.0.1

Trying to sign on to my accountI was highly motivated to by a set of books this morning. My password was deactivated due to inactivity. I answered a security question (where I was born, pretty sure I nailed it) and was in the process of resetting my password when I was kicked off the app. Next try, the B&N nap said I was wrong about where I was born. Not true. Then they sent an email to my email address. Their email will expire before it will get through our server security/firewall. This is too well run a business with respect to brick and mortar to be this hard to buy from on line. Each member of the Board of Directors should try to buy on line from B&N!.Version: 3.1

Took money from my gift card but didn’t place orderWhen i clicked Submit i got an error message saying “there was an error committing this order”. It still took the money from my gift cards however. After waiting for 50 minutes to speak to an agent they put in a request to refund the money to my gift card (after 1hr 20 minutes total). They thought it was because I don’t keep a credit card on file in my BN online account . So i added a credit card to my account and tried placing an order again. Got the same error message and it took money from my gift cards again without placing an order. So now another 1+ hour on hold to get another refund....Version: 3.2

Stupidest thing ever!!!!First of all no app for the iPad. Way to loose customers to your competitors. Second, if you guys supposedly updated it around Dec 1 so books are available in Canada, why was the last update from the summer? Lame!!!!!!.Version: 1.0.1

FIX THE BROKEN APPBarnes and Noble devs fix the app already. It’s been two year or so since the last update to the app and it’s generally a good idea to fix an app every week or two like all the current apps out there. This isn’t some awesome app back in the early days and the hype dissipated after a few years on the market. This is a productivity app that is very useful, but by not updated after so long is disappointing in my eyes and think that you have either been doing a complete revamp of the app that is/was in the making and due to the idiotic management team or whoever decided to pull the plug on the development of the app, and now has to get all the hate from all the comments because the app isn’t useable at all and load times are stupidly slow even in a fast internet connection, imbedded browser app is just bad and not good for long term development. For all of us, please hear us and fix the issues that have been commented over and over for so long. Good customer feedback is key if you want to have a viable business support in the future. Otherwise well just use a mobile browser to use the site since that is 100% better than the app as of writing this review. Thanks.Version: 3.1

The app needs an update sooner than laterI haven’t really been happy with this app. For one, it takes forever to load and get me to the sign in/home screen. Also, when I press on a nook book, it uploads the book I chose but doesn’t give me an option to go back to the home screen after reading the book, remaining stuck on the nook book. That in turn forces me to have to go to my Internet app just to access my account on bn so I can do other things that I should have been able to do on the app itself. Currently, my bn app is frozen/stuck on a nook book. Very annoying to say the least. Please look into fixing this app..Version: 3.1

Seriously?!A new update since, well, forever, and still nothing. Not only do I have to sign in EVERY TIME, even if I prompt it to remember my sign-in information, but now if I try to remove something from my shopping cart, the app freezes up and I have to close out, re-start, and yes, SIGN BACK IN AGAIN! Honestly, this is quite possibly the worst app I’ve ever had, and for it to be the primary app for a large company like B&N, is an embarrassment. You try and get people to order online (because you won’t price match in-store), and yet the app doesn’t work. What the hell?? You wonder why things aren’t going well—well let me tell you, this app isn’t helping. You’re completely out of touch with technology and with 21st Century retail. Come on, get it together!.Version: 3.2

Ridiculous. Why on earth would they offer this app in Canada where it is essentially useless???.Version: 1.0.1

Good books, but only for USPS: even if you have a US address, but are in another country for school, work, etc, you can't get new eBooks to download to the old eReader app. Horrid that they won't do support for existing customers. Have like $300 worth of eBooks that I can't transfer to new Apple products and really don't like the fact that only realized after purchasing a book that wouldn't download. B&N never emailed me or whatever to inform me of this change..Version: 1.0.1

Usable, with (Much) room for improvement.I enjoy using this application to browse and purchase books. I just ordered one the other day. While I appreciate the updates this app has received, I say to the developers-please keep going! As of this writing, the current functionality is akin to an application of 5 years ago at best. Fix the bugs and smooth out the user interface first. Once that’s been handled, a much needed graphics refresh would greatly benefit the user experience (not to mention improve business with a better app). I have hope that these issues will be addressed. I am a huge supporter of B&N and wish to see it adapt and thrive in today’s smartphone based, internet-of-things world..Version: 3.1

Very poor jobHow many sales had Barnes and Noble lost because it's app functions so poorly? Millions I think, extrapolating from my own experience. And how does such a big company fail to resolve these problems? Incredible incompetence at the top, though they are probably paid millions. The app freezes half the time, and it has inconsistent login scenarios requiring multiple logins if you pick the wrong access point for what you want. It's sad for those of us who don't want to give up everything to Amszon..Version: 3.1

Barnes and Noble is great, but their app is terrible.I've owned this app for just over 24 hours, and something has gone wrong every single time I have tried to use it. In spite of clicking "Remember Me" every time I log in, I am prompted to log in twice or three more times before I can even add a book to my cart. On occasions when I've managed to bypass this problem, the app has either crashed or sat on a loading screen for minutes at a time (occasionally it resolves itself, but most of the time I am forced to manually restart the app). Thankfully, I am a student who has enough free time to mess with the BN app, but others may not be so fortunate. I just want my books, man..Version: 3.1

Just started using this appI absolutely love spending a couple hours browsing books in B&N, but after last year esp, ordering online has proven faster, easier, and even safer for my wallet because I usually know what I’m looking for. That being said, I just downloaded this app, weary of its ratings, and agree with some of the general issues. I should remain logged in or at least have the option of saving my password in my keychain under the app (it only recognizes my login for the website on safari). It also shouldn’t log me out each time I get out of the app. I dislike that I can’t use the back button without scrolling all the way back up to the top. I will update as I notice more issues. Just downloaded it tonight..Version: 3.2

HATE the AppThis app has so many things wrong with it I usually just end up pulling up the website in a browser! FIX THESE PROBLEMS! Is pathetic that you have let this go for so long. PROBLEMS is found - SO SLOW - all images needs to be optimized - Files need to smaller - The back button takes you back too many pages (in most areas) rather than just one page - Many glitches when searching or browsing - Example - if you are further down on a page when browsing and you select a product then you try to go back you have to start from the beginning There and a lot of other glitches that could be added but overall this application needs to go through some serious testing and needs to be updated... NOT USER FRIENDLY NOT A GOOD USER EXPERIENCE Sincerely, A fellow developer With a specialty in the designing for the best user experience.Version: 3.1

How?How is it possible to have an app THIS BAD? This thing so rarely works and every time I want to load it to shop, I have to close an reload it five or six times. Despite the app’s shopping feature, it defaults to opening a browser to shop if you try to shop from anything other than the search bar. What the heck was the app team thinking releasing this? Just use the website, guys. It’s easier and quicker. Update: can’t log in. All it does is say to resent my password, even if I don’t tap anywhere near the reset password thing. It just keeps getting worse and worse..Version: 3.1

Horrible appI wish I could give this app a zero for having wasted so much of my time. Even though I have "remember password" checked on the login screen, each and every time I open the app to do anything, I have to provide my email and password. Each time I click on my shopping cart, a spinning icon comes up that does not go away. The only thing I can do is to exit the app, and then try to open it again, which by the way it force me to login again and again. It is shameful that this garbage is allowed to make it into the app store. BN - look at your average review score and don't be surprised if you go out of business someday in not too distant future..Version: 3.1

Clunky and Poor PerformanceI installed the latest version of this app this week and found it to be slow, clunky and doesn’t provide accurate information. I attempted to purchase an Actual Book, which they no longer seem to understand. It showed me the book was available at my store, and multiple stores near me. It all went great until I hit Submit Order, then it was no longer available at ANY store. Also, the items I “saved for later” disappeared and could not be found. What made it worse, was the their Customer Service people don’t seem to know the app even exists. They kept telling me to go into the Nook App or to change my Browser, neither of which has anything to do with the shopping app. It’s really sad how far they have fallen..Version: 3.1

Insanely slowI hardly write reviews on apps, but this app I had to say something. Yes it frustrating like the other reviews that the app does not store your info. I can work with that. What drives me absolutely insane is that It’s ridiculously slow. Any click and you are waiting at least 2 minutes to move on. It’s crazy. Where is the quality control on this app? During this crazy time where we can’t go into Barnes and Noble to skim books and buy they should really revisit this app and work out the link that makes it insanely slow..Version: 3.1

Serious attention needed from app developersThis app is incredibly frustrating. You can check the “remember me” button every time you sign in, yet it will NEVER remember you. If you’re someone like me that used a password vault, this means you have to launch that app each time you feel like using the B&N app in order to copy paste the pw. Additionally, the buy online pick up in store option doesn’t work either. I kept trying to place an order for pickup but it kept giving me a “no last name given in shipping address” warning. But you can’t input any information into the shipping address section because you’re not shipping anything, and it clearly says “no shipping information needed for this order.” Honestly this is a complete joke. On top of this, the desktop version of the site isn’t much better. It doesn’t recognize the SAME pw I use for the app and so I’m unable to place orders or add to my wish list on the desktop version. I love B&N and will continue to support the company because I really want brick and mortar bookstores to thrive as long as possible in this digital age, but man oh man do your app and website need help..Version: 3.1

Needs free titles so we can see what reading a book on the phone is like.I would only consider buying a book through this app if I could look at some free samples to experience what it's like to read a book through the reader. Also, all we can see are the covers and a small description.. what about the dust jacket contents or a couple paragraphs from the book? A sample would be nice..Version: 0

Ragingly incompetentBarnes & Noble does not want any online business. That is the most positive conclusion I can come to, considering the abysmal quality of their app and website. Expect things to time out, 404 you, crash, and about every level of frustration imagineable. After no less than 12 tries to get into my account to change my address, and continuoually reaching error messages, I changed my address and placed an order, only to have that order shipped to the address I had deleted. Two weeks later, and I still haven't received my full refund. Email Help requests go unanswered, and chat is okay, but only if the site is actually working, which is about 25% of the time. When B&N goes out of business, one of the primary factors will be their incompetent and horrid attention to having a remotely useful online presence..Version: 3.1

Online orderI ordered a few books online. It said it was going to come in 10 days. Its been almost a month and they still haven’t come....Version: 3.1

Fix the AppThis Barnes & Noble app is full of glitches and bugs. It doesn’t keep you signed in if you close the app, and half of the time will sign you out even if you haven’t closed the app. The app doesn’t save your local store location. It always changes its location to Hamilton. The app is slow as a snail. If you select a book you want to view on the app, and then go back to view the list, it jumps back to the top of the list. When you put an item in your cart from the wishlist, it leaves to the cart, and you have the select your wishlist from the side bar if you want to go back to your wish list to add more books to your cart. When you delete an item from your wishlist, it reloads the whole page, taking you back to the very beginning of your wishlist. Between all of this nonsense and the extreme slowness of the app, it makes for an unenjoyable experience and a complete pain to use. There is no incentive to want to use the Barnes & Noble app. Is it that hard to make it a little bit more similar to eBay and Amazon’s app experience? This app has a 1.5 star rating and it doesn’t look like the app has been updated in 3 years. Barnes & Noble, I’m a rewards member and enjoy supporting the company, but seriously, get the act together and start by fixing this app. I would be very happy to change my rating and review of the Barnes and Noble app, but first, it has got to change..Version: 3.1

FailureThis app has promise but it's unwieldy. Worst of all you can't access your B&N wishlists through it. The whole point is to make something better than the browser interface, which is unwieldy on a phone, but this ends up being worse. See the Amazon app for how to make a good one..Version: 2.0.3

Really Let DownGod I love Barnes and Noble, but this app is really disappointing. Every time you sign in, it gives you a “session” time do shop for books. If you close the app and come back to it, your session has expired and any books in your cart are gone. Barnes and Noble experiences in-person are usually so great, but since we can’t have our usual in-person experiences right now, I have to resort to their app. It’s really frustrating trying to navigate this app and lose your progress because your session expires. It also signs you out every time you exit the app, so you continually have to reenter your password even if you’ve selected “remember me”. No option of Face ID yet either. Just all around really disappointing app..Version: 3.2

So annoying & slowThis app is so annoying. Every time I go on the app it says if I would like to access my location for the app & I always have to sign in. I have it as remember me, but every time when I close the app I have to sign in again. This gets very frustrated. When I finally sign in and add things to my cart and try to access my cart it doesn’t load. Everything takes forever to load and I have noticed that this app doesn’t get updated as much. Maybe they just don’t want to fix the problems on this app. I can conclude that I will be deleting this app & just accessing Barnes & Noble online on my laptop..Version: 3.1

Impossible to remove items from the “My Saved Items” listIt is impossible for me to remove books that i own from my “My Saved Items” list within the app. I can’t add them to my cart from the list either. Other than that its good. I will change my review when this gets fixed. Also the app runs very slowly taking sometimes up to 3 whole minutes to load a single page. Often times i get stuck on a page with no way to return to the main screen and have to close out the entire app. PLEASE FIX THIS APP.Version: 3.1

Use the website not this appI thought this app would be good for purchasing stuff from home from Barnes and Noble... I was wrong. This app is complete crap. Half the stuff they show when you search for something has nothing to do with what you were searching for. Then if you do happen to find what you were looking for and try to checkout the promo codes don’t work, and it takes forever to load. You’d have better luck ordering from the website or just going into the store. For a big book company like B&N you’d think they could spend the money to develop a better app..Version: 3.1

DisappointingI LOVE barnes and noble, every time i go in the store i spend a minimum of two hours there before i even realize it. this app makes me want to back out immedately. it's SO slow. it randomly freezes, it shows up no search results sometimes but i can go back later and the item will be there. i deleted this app last year because of these reasons but i was given some gift cards and hoped things would be solved. nope. my nearest barnes and noble is 45mins away. i cant make casual trips there every week, not to mention there are online items not available in store. the website is the same as the app. i feel like i can't even shop here anymore. THAT is how bad this app is. it's frustrating as hell. these issues have been issues for SO long now. do something about it. or you're going to continue losing customers because of your negligence..Version: 3.1

Runs sideways on iPad, useless!Seriously, how hard can it be to make the B&N app run in Landscape mode? This is coding 101 stuff, every other shopping app on the planet does this except B&N who must think everyone runs it on an iphone in Portrait mode. Why does this matter? I have a large iPad Pro with attached keyboard that I normally use in Landscape mode, like a laptop. Since the B&N app only runs in Portrait mode, I either have to use it sideways with my head tilted 90% left (causing great pain), or unplug my keyboard, physically rotate the screen to Portrait mode, and replug/re-rotate when done, no thanks! So have to use the B&N website in a browser instead, meaning this app is completely useless for iPad..Version: 3.1

Very SlowI seems to me like they just crammed the mobile site into the app and called it good. It even asked me if I would allow the SITE to access my location, giving further evidence of the previous statement. The only real reason I’m keeping it on my phone is for convenience, rather than having to go online I can just go into the app. It also sounds like people are having trouble logging in and buying things on the app. However, I haven’t come across this, mainly because I don’t buy books on this, I rather use it to simply look up books and then go to buy them in store. This can definitely be improved..Version: 3.1

Very Annoying and Frustrating1.) Despite the amount of times I check Remember Me, I’m still required to log into my account. I don’t know if this is for security purposes, but this is very annoying. 2.) This app overall can’t work. When I try to add a book to my cart by pressing “Add to Cart”, the box just remains highlighted and does nothing. Same thing for when I want to add a book to my wishlist; the option remains highlighted, however it doesn’t actually add the book to my wishlist. Barnes and Noble, I appreciate you, but you need to step your game up and improve this app. As a Club Member, I expected better from this app. Please make this app work better..Version: 3.1

Nook booksForget about finding any nook books..Version: 2.1.1

Slow, forgetful, worse than mobile siteThis app is terrible. Absolutely awful. Books go out of print in the amount of time it takes to load and for some reason I have to log in every time I use the app. It’s terrible. You need to double check if you want to pickup or have the items delivered because it will always default to “ship” even if you selected pickup. And DEFINITELY double check the store, because it also can’t remember what your home store is. Not much point of the app if I need to enter all my into each time I open it..Version: 3.1

Excruciatingly slowSlowest. App. Ever. I used to stay signed in and didn’t have any problems. Recently, however, when I try to sign in, I get an error message saying I’m an inactive user. Wrong!! I’m a very active user. There’s no way to remedy that so I went to create a new account. I got a message that I already have an account!! You must be signed in to get any assistance via chat or email. I tried calling the 800 number and an automated voice asked for my account number. Although I’ve been a member for some 20 years, I don’t have an account number. The store always just asks for my phone number. But the automated voice doesn’t recognize my phone number. I tried hitting 0. Nothing I tried asking to speak to a representative. Nothing. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app. Didn’t help. If I could give a 0 star rating, I would because this app (which used to be pretty decent) is currently absolutely useless..Version: 3.1

Use if you’d like to be annoyedI don’t think I’ve ever written a review, on a single app, since they came into existence. But this app is so frustrating that it warrants one. I love books. I read a lot. After spending an extended period on the website, I thought perhaps I’d download the app and be less “annoyed” by functionality (the website is frustrating because when you return to the previous screen, it kicks back to the top and makes you start over). Well... First disappointment is that the app is no different, in that regard. Highly frustrating because you often find yourself seeing something of interest, only to end up debating “is reading the overview worth losing my spot?” Second - If I manually searched for a book, it would show up in the auto-fill and if I selected it, it would just spin and “think”. Never loading. I’d be forced to close the app and start over. Last, I had to exit the app between EVERY step of the check out process. Couldn’t even tell if my order was placed until I exited AGAIN. Opened AGAIN. Signed in.... AGAIN and checked “orders”. Not to mention - I am a member, the app showed my ID. Acknowledged I was in active status. And gave an overall 15% discount, when it should have been 20%, and I’ve found that to be a consistent issue b/t the website or the app. I’ve never encountered a bigger, steaming pile of crap app ... in the history of apps. I think we pay enough for you to do better than this, B&N. Seriously..Version: 3.2

Absolute garbage app...It’s really annoying that the app doesn’t “remember you” when you check the “remember me” box..like it just does not work..like at all..it may as well not even be there..there are also a lot of glitches. i get a lot of blank white screens and it constantly freezes on me, so i then have to exit out of the app and then open it back up, only to have to log back in again because, as i stated before, the app doesn’t keep you logged in. but other than that, i can still order books so it AT LEAST has that going for it..but i won’t delete it because i’m lazy and don’t feel like physically driving to my local b&n so, whatever...just do something barnes & noble, please, i beg of you...Version: 3.2

NEEDS AN EXTREME SOFTWARE UPDATE!The BN app is great for shopping, but if the developers want this app to be efficient then they need to fix the bugs in the system to maximize its potential. I love going to the bin store but it’s inconveniently out of my way to go, so I over the app. But it’s incredibly slow and takes far too long to load. And my complaint about the “remember me” at login is the same as everyone else’s. I use the app quite a bit, but I just deleted it if it’s not even going to update at the very least of once a year. If it’s not going to be updated, I hope the developers are making an entirely new one, or they will lose out on a great deal more of purchases..Version: 3.1

App Should Be MUCH BetterApp annoyances that shouldn’t exist: 1) As of Friday (7/13) cannot sign into account on wi-fi (including B&N’s in-store wi-fi); you must use cellular network. Get message of “inactiveUser”. 2) Need to re-enter you password every single time you use the app, and even sometimes after you’ve been on the app awhile. 3) Unnecessarily slow. Web site is fine except similar password issue. Seriously,B&N, if you want to compete in this new retail world, you need to have state-of-the art online apps..Version: 3.1

Worst App Ever 😤😤Barnes and Noble headquarters you do know we in the 21st century and things are study changing but this app has not.. This app is very slow, crashes, and sometimes does not even open up. You have to keep putting in your user name and password every time you log in.. WHY?!? Where is the Touch ID? And How come you can not store your membership card on the app where it’s accessible at all times?!? I pay $25 a year but what need to work doesn’t work. Some people don’t have time to run to the store or go through the long process of online. The app is personal and suppose to be easy.. Fix this App!!!.Version: 3.1

SadnessI’ve been trying to pay for a preordered movie for the last half hour. There was even an app update TODAY July 9, year of our covid,2020. I figured problem solved NOPE. I just get the progress wheel from hell. Just by clicking on my shopping cart. It’s like the energizer bunny just keeps going and going and going. Fortunately a Barnes & Noble is walking distance from me so I’ll just use this pathetic excuse for an app just to see what’s available there and walk over. I’m sure that wasn’t this apps intended purpose but here we are.... Sad. Just sad..Version: 3.2

Redirected to a 3rd party site via this app. How?1. It’s annoying that you have to go to the B&N app to buy ebooks before you read them on Nook. If B&N fails as a company, that is bc Apple has the sense to allow you to buy ebooks directly on the iBooks app. 2. The app is slowwwwwww. 3. When the app finally loaded, I was redirected to a site that sells kitchen gadgets. Don’t get me wrong. My kitchen could use some things, but I originally came to the B&N app to buy an ebook on abandonment issues since I can’t afford a therapist. The fact that the B&N app took me to a 3rd party website is not helping with those issues. I feel abandoned by B&N. I do not feel safe anymore using this app..Version: 3.1

HORRIBLE APP!! I HATE IT!!Has not been updated in over a year (12/18) and you can tell. I absolutely hate this app, it is extremely frustrating to use. It is very slow, when I click on things it is usually still loading even after a minute so will take me somewhere else (slowly). Separating marketplace and Barnes and Noble books would be a great addition. A lot—the majority of books are not sold by Barnes and Noble and are from “marketplace sellers” be aware of this as the free shipping does not apply to the marketplace and neither do a lot of coupons. Also there is not a very wide range of books, I have searched for dozens of books that are unavailable, out of stock with no known return date, and completely unsearchable. If I did not have a gift card for this store I would not utilize it. It’s terrible and I’m extremely dissatisfied and disappointed with this company..Version: 3.1

So many problemsThe app takes forever to come up when your first open it. I know it keeps me logged in because it says “hello, my name” every time, but when I go to my cart I have to put my password in every single time which gets annoying, especially when I have the remember me button checked. Also, when I click on a book halfway down the page to see what it’s about, I REALLY hate that it takes me all the way back to the top of the page when I go back. Take me back to where I was please. I also wish it was easier to search. For true crime, I just want to press search all or search by what’s available for pickup at my store..Version: 3.1

Not GreatI downloaded this app in order to have access to my library while on vacation. That is why I gave it only one star, because it allowed me access to the book I was reading. Otherwise, not a great app. Can’t bookmark a page, if you touch the screen in the wrong place, it goes scrolling back (or forward) to a different page. The app crashes at the end of chapters so you need to close the app and sign in again, hoping you can remember what page you were on. Page number only appears briefly as it changes to a new page. Replacing my lost NOOK ASAP!.Version: 3.1

Needs to be updated. This app seriously needs an update. All around redesign to be honest. It crashes frequently, slow, and with iPhone X, XS, and XR models out, the app doesn’t fit the screen and has those ugly black bars on the top and bottom making everything seem zoomed in and large. This compares to the Nook App tells me they should be able to update this without an issue. They obviously haven’t put any time or energy into the app considering the last update was 2 years ago. In today’s day in age, convenience is everything. I think this app could be great if they simple updated it and fixed the issues..Version: 3.1
