Life Bible App for Negative User Reviews

Used every day…I have been using the new update since its release and for the most part I have enjoyed it greatly. A few things that I wish I had: 1. The ability to choose the that is my “home” screen. Like I want to open app and be in the passage where I left off. 2. I really miss the copy drag handles that where in the previous version. It is easier to drag the handle and not have to select each one separately. This will also help not accidentally opening the Strong’s dictionary instead of highlighting the verse. 3. The copy/highlight functions are not convenient at the bottom of the page; I really miss the sections within the fill handle, so I don’t have to move all around the page. This is a small amount of time, but as I study it is a distraction and does take moments away - which adds up over time. 4. Asked for this in the past and did not receive an answer, copy a verse, “John 3:16 KJVS”. Could you provide the ability to have a copy/paste option. I, again, spent time clearing KJVS from the copied verse. Like when I paste a verse, I would like John 3:16 and the verse, or the verse and then reference, the reference bolded and then the verse. 5. When making a note on a verse the text box does not allow me to use my pencil. I able to use my pencil to scroll and choose just not write..Version: 10.0.706

Too complicated.Too complicated, reminds me of secular products. KJV should be plain and simple, how should always be..Version: 10.0.609

Dislike the updateI loved this bible, however, the update was something I didn’t want. If you are a new subscriber, everything will be fine, but I loved the old version because I was familiar with it. Why did you have to change?.Version: 10.0.556

Difficult to navigateNavigating is more difficult with the upgrade..Version: 10.0.946

FsfsfCan’t sign in on this app. Won’t let me type in my info.Version: 10.0.556

Update AppNot sure if I’m a fan of the new updated version. The previous version was simplified and easy to navigate..Version: 10.0.521

Sorting by verseHow do you get the verses to line up beneath each other? Currently they are on the same line. The view looks cluttered and unorganized..Version: 10.1.026

Give me the old version back!Noooo!! Why did you do this to me! I want the old version back. Should’ve turned off auto updates. I just want a simple bible reading app, I don’t want all the frills it’s distracting. That’s why youversion annoys me as it’s more like logging into Facebook. I have heaps of study bibles and the layout of everything is all moved. Whyyy no warning so annoyed.Version: 10.0.556

Once Perfect Bible App Not So Perfect UpdateI used to read this app first thing out of bed everyday. It would open on the devotional and I’d read them and some would have me thinking all day. With the update my old favorite format is gone. And the setup is still a mystery and a mess. I admit I must be aging out of this app since I want a simple open and read the meat not a menu option while I’m still waking up. I will give it a fair chance and see but for now I’m not thrilled. Updated review after a few weeks? Seems much longer. I use a free copy on my phone and a paid copy on my tablet and I’m still not enjoying the recent upgrade to the app. Cust service was great getting back right away after my initial bad review and advised I give it a try. Well I’ll keep trying but so far it’s not winning me over. Perhaps it’s me, but the thing that sold me on this bible app was it’s simple inspirational daily verses and lessons along beautiful photos. It was curated perfectly for reading first thing in the morning and reflecting on and revisiting throughout my day. Those days are in the past and now the menu is not at all inspiring. I don’t like giving negative reviews but do so for this important app in hopes it will help you focus on what you want to offer. Thank you for The Word..Version: 10.0.556

Was great before the updateWhy change something that’s great? I can’t even browse through the index or chapters anymore, after the update. please fix!.Version: 10.0.663

What a shame they sold out :(I have been using Tecarta Bible app for almost ten years and have already paid money for updates and books that I wanted to use, and now I have to pay a subscription to continue using without ads??? “For the love of money is the root of all evil…” shame on you Tecarta..Version: 10.1.037

The New Tecarta AppI have been using this App for years. It has long been my go to digital go-to digital Bible. Why o why have you had to had to fix something that wasn’t broken with this massive update? I can’t get it to do what I particularly used to find helpful, namely have two versions side by side in landscape mode and I keep downloading my purchases only to find that they haven’t downloaded. It’s a mess. Please offer the option to revert to the previous version and try to resist the urge to tinker..Version: 10.0.584

No customer supportI have used Tecarta for years and think the app is well designed and implemented. HOWEVER Their ‘customer support’ seems to amount AI filtering and implementing account changes you don’t want, based on the algorithms used. I am now locked out of account for an enquiry about updating email address. Two emails to dedicated customer support address remain unanswered after 3 working fdays. Other Bible apps may not have all the bells and whistles of Tecarta, but they are cheaper (often free), so I can forgive if they have lax customer support. Tecarta have made a bundle out of me, but no support whatsoever. Buy at your own risk..Version: 8.0.5

Not as good anymoreI can appreciate the additions, but not at the expense of the app working properly. In a weird way I feel like the Bible itself is sorta minimized with all the other stuff. Originally I just wanted an easy to access Bible now it’s even more difficult to access the Bible as sometimes I try to use my phone to show someone a verse from the Bible and it says I’m offline which doesn’t make sense and I have to go elsewhere. I miss the old Tecarta Bible..Version: 10.0.946

Not as simple as it used to beI liked how the app was before, it didn’t used to show a home section immediately you open the app, but now it does which feels inconvenient. I do like the highlighting colours. However, f.ex say I’m on psalm 1 and want to change to psalm 20, I can no longer just type the numbers and expect it to take me to psalm 20, instead I have to continually write the whole word which may become inconvenient. There is things which have been improved, but I miss the older version..Version: 10.0.637

UpdateWhy fix something that’s not broken. Can’t understand this version 😩😩.Version: 10.0.763

TecartaTecarta insisted on downloading adds and format that I do not want to see when I open the app. I just want to read the bible without looking at add content or junk. This cannot be changed or removed despite the fact that I paid for the no adds option. It’s very irritating. They have done this deliberately and will not respond to emails. Very poor form on Tecarta’s part..Version: 10.0.637

Ripped offI had a free NIV Bible app which has been ‘retired’ and I was migrated to Tecarta, using my previous info, log in etc. However, I only get the KJV. To keep using the NIV I am supposed to pay. I already had it! Don’t think I’ll be staying. Cheers..Version: 7.15.4

What’s Going On?VERY CRITICAL ALERT!!! New international version (NIV) was published by Zondervan but is now OWNED by Harper Collins. NIV and English Standard Version (ESV) has now removed 64,575 words from the Bible including Jehovah, Calvary, Holy Ghost and omnipotent to name but a few... The NIV and ESV has also now removed 45 complete passages. Try and find these scriptures in NIV and ESV on your computer, phone or device right now if you are in doubt: Matthew 17:21, 18:11, 23:14; Mark 7:16, 9:44, 9:46; Luke 17:36, 23:17; John 5:4; Acts 8:37. ...you will not believe your eyes..Version: 7.16.2

App Good - but feel like HostageI have used this app for 4-5 years. Clean interface, stable. Liked it. Cannot comment much yet on new interface as only recently downloaded it. I originally chose the app as I could download the Bible and use without having to be online, accepting that I would (and should) pay for the content I use. HOWEVER, plan on paying for Tecarta’s fee as well as individual translation's and other content. The addition of ads in the app is VERY disruptive. For both internal external products. The past version I could ignore them easier. However, In latest version this is even MORE prevalent - with even limited use study Bible push or ads inside the Bible text as well. I understand Tecarta needs to cover the cost of operating the app. Originally, this seems to have been covered by content purchased. At this point I will go ahead and pay the fee to have the ads removed. This is due to fact I have a SIGNIFICANT investment in purchase of various translations and other content on the app. I do however feel like a Hostage to Tecarta, with no options, this was not a part of the deal upfront when I started. If starting from scratch I would likely explore other options and compare features and costs, perhaps ending up back here, I do not know. As I said I have liked the app as an app and can recommend it from that perspective. (Current interface yet to be reviewed fully).Version: 10.0.613

Not pleasedThis new version of this app, which got loaded to my tablet without permission, takes away abilities that the previous version had. Now I cannot post the verse of the day on instagram without adding a comment, but it also will not allow me to add a comment..Version: 10.0.584

Use to be Great Bible appI’ve been using this app for 4 to 5 years. It’s my go to when I can remember verses but not where they are from. So many apps are take the money and run but Tecarta has stayed with us, updating the app offering promotions and so on. The Lord made me a teacher and I have no teaching background (at all). I really have a hard time with reading comprehension. So this app has really helped. Love the Mathew Henry commentary. Keep up the good work. Hope y’all have a blessed day. Update: just like so many others I do not like the new Bible app. I wanted a Bible not a Bible magazine. It won’t let me sign into my account, so I guess the money I have paid in is gone because the app is gone. This app went from being something good to a money grab. I guess their houses weren’t big enough, their cars weren’t fancy enough so now they’re all about the money. The irony is the book they’re making money on tells us all about greed and what it will do to your life..Version: 10.1.026

The old versionThe old version was so much easier.Version: 10.0.584

New versionMy wife loved the old version but not this one… will be looking elsewhere … too much clutter.Version: 10.0.909

MalfunctionSince the new update, I can’t repeat selected verses and sleep my phone anymore.Version: 10.0.542

History functionLatest update caused history function to stop.Version: 10.1.085

Far away from what drew me to TecartaThe original layout to make the text appear like a paper Bible is what appealed to me and made me choose this app over others. Since then so many changes have been done to the app it is no longer recognisable. At one stage after one of the unwanted update I had massive problems with my personal notes. Many hours spent with support led nowhere. This morning I wake up to yet another change, in the navigation. All Bible books are now in capitals, distinctly less readable. 'Oh but we have added colours to make it more readable!' Time to start looking for another app..Version: 10.1.171

Adverts showing after paying for 3 biblesFullscreen wordly video adverts have recently started appearing at random times, with no way to clear away until a timer of many seconds has expired. They are also deliberately difficult and obscure to close, and break the flow of the Spirit. This is after I have paid for 3 bibles in good faith, and spent many hours adding study highlights. Psalm 118:8 NKJV It is better to trust in the LORD Than to put confidence in man. EDIT: I have since found an in-app purchase to “remove ads” requiring £4.99 per year. This was not apparent or made clear when signing up, neither is it mentioned under “Information -> In-App purchases” in the app store (on 3 Aug 23). Please be honest, clear and up-front, and add “Remove adverts - 1 year £4.99” to In-App purchases so people are not deceived. Issue reported to Apple on 3/8/23. Thank you..Version: 10.1.037

Please remove advertisementsI have been using this app for years and I love it. I use it daily. However, recently they have introduced advertisements that pop up every day when I open the Bible. advertisements are just so out of place in the holy scriptures. Please consider not having daily adverts each day that pop up when I open the Bible. The Bible is Holy, and should not include advertisements..Version: 10.1.196

GlitchesThere are glitches after updates. It often frozen..Version: 10.0.584

The bible is a free gift from the Almighty to his peopleYou are selling this every other bible at a cost! even the public domain bible really? I tired of you people peddling the holy word of God for profit! What happened to the days when bibles were given out for free! I will be removing your bible app in due course! Also on top of that if you are expecting individuals to make a purchase, how dare u bombared people with your worldly commercials! Where is the accountability?!.Version: 10.0.847

Very resourceful literature.I have been using Tecarta bibles and study bibles for eight years now. I keep a complete library on two iPads and use them on a daily basis. The fact that I have so many different versions and study references enhances my lesson preparation. I highly recommend Tecart’s products. However, this new format does not work for me. I would rather have the old format back. I am certainly not pleased with the changes that have been made. Tecarta was a five star app before someone decided to change the app’s format! I am even less pleased with the Tecarta app changes the more I attempt to use it to create my lesson plans. Many of my associates feel the same! We are not simply complaining, we truly do not appreciate the new format. We are not interested at all in the new “home” page as we use Tecarta to assist us in our weekly podcast and lesson plans. There must be some way to revert back to the previous Tecarta app! (Note: My attempts to sign into my Tecarta account are unsuccessful.).Version: 10.0.584

Update made changed too much for me!I opened my app one morning to find an entirely different looking app! The books were not all on the screen. They were found on a wheel that scrolled along with a wheel fir the chapter and the verse. I could no longer see all of the books at once or how many chapters were in a single book without scrolling to the end nor how many verses were in the chapter without scrolling to the end. I don’t like this new way of searching. I don’t like scrolling. You can scroll past where you want to be and then have to scroll back when all I had to do before was tap one time and be where I wanted to be! The font was changed, also and I really don’t like it! I’m sure there were fixes needed but these changes were unnecessary! I’m probably one of the few that doesn’t like all that changed! Wish I could have had a choice in the matter..Version: 10.0.584

Frustrated!I’m very frustrated with the way this app has been redone. Before, I could go very easily from my nite to the scripture passage. But now it’s so complicated. Also everything is hard to find. And the look is so messy. Also, you can’t see the screen because some splashy thing is blocking.Version: 10.0.556

Not Liking the Updated InterphraseThis use to be one of my favorite Bible apps because it was so easy to pick a translation, pick a book, chapter and verse and read and take notes. Now it is such a confusing mess and I am clicking on buttons to try to figure out how to get back to the thing I was doing before clicking on a wrong button. I use to recommend this app to everyone I spoke to but honestly out of good conscience I cannot because it is no longer user friendly. I find that I may go into this app maybe once a month now, and that is to simply extract notes from a verse so I can copy and paste them into a different app. I now use E-Sword, Literal Word, Blue Letter Bible and Bible Hub as my everyday apps. They are easy to use and have way more resources than Tecarta offers. I am hoping the developers see this comment. Please bring Tecarta back to a more simpler user friendly interface. God Bless!!.Version: 10.0.706

I wish I hadn't hit the update button so quicklyI can appreciate the effort and hard work that must've gone into this new version, It's a real overhaul. I've been using Tecarta since the first year it was released. But now it FEELS like im in the middle of another ad ridden app, being lead around through distractions rather than working inside a more serious study tool. I wish all of the content and plans and books where somehow more separate from the the study tools, but hey... cant make everyone happy : ) Feels less personal, less intuitive. But in all fairness, Im using on MacOS, it may feel better on an ipad. The iOS version looks great in the app store, but Im afraid to update. I'll give this a while longer, maybe it'll grow on me, but the chances seem dim. Here's a suggestion though, to the developers. Maybe consider adding an area where users can building their own touchpoint database from the ground up? That can be viewed independently from the included touchpoints..Version: 10.0.556

🤔I don’t really enjoy this new version. It’s confusing. I used to write when searching my verses now I have to scroll down to find the scripture. I’m finding it a bit odd for me. I wasn’t expecting a change from my old version. It’s got so many things going on. All I need is just a bible no complications. Thank you.Version: 10.0.542

If the steak sells a why change the sauce?I have been using this app for years and was quite dismayed with this massive update. I feel like I have to learn how to use the app all over again. There are many great features. Almost too many. I do not like the split screen with the two views. Very tough to use properly on a small screen like I have on my phone. I much prefer the app that I was very familiar with and loved. Hopefully I will get used to the myriad of new features..Version: 10.0.556

Used to be greatApp used to be great. I rated it’s a five star plus prior to the update. Now it is complicated to use. It is no longer a basic Bible app that you can open and read your Bible and your commentaries. They added a lot of stuff that some of you may like, just not me. One very frustrating part for example is that I switch between versions of the Bible or commentaries quite often to see the full meaning of the text. It used to be easy to do that. Now it is much harder to get to the commentaries. Also when switching between versions and commentaries it goes back to the last book and chapter you used when you’re in that version or commentary. For example if I’m reading John 11 in new king James version and want to see what the English standard version says after getting to the English standard version I will find that it’s inAnother book of the Bible. The commentaries are even worse I can’t even figure out how to get them to the correct place and I’ve given up very frustrating!.Version: 10.0.615

Lost my page set upWhy do we have to change things and think they’re better. Had my page set up to enjoy my devos every morning and lost my John MacArthur and Niv side by side. Now it’s all busy with suggestions that I wade through to get to where I want to be. Give me time..Version: 10.0.584

Confusing updateNot happy with the update. It’s now too hard to just read like I used to pre update. Considering other options for bibles.Version: 10.0.556

New lookI find the new changes very distracting and the app now has a cluttered look, perhaps the fonts aren’t as clean looking as before..Version: 10.0.584

No longer intuitiveFrankly I don’t understand how the app designers see this as an improvement. I found myself reaching for the legacy Bible paper/book. In the previous version it was very quick and easy to find a book/chapter/verse. This new version is anything but. For example Lamentations initially doesn’t appear despite the page stating it’s The Old Testament. Then displaying the chapters/verse like a lottery/lotto is awful and in bad taste. There may be features which are good but at this point I’m minded to delete rather than frustratingly looking for such features. It seems to be if isn’t broke don’t fix it just because some new kid on the block thinks a sexy interface will appeal. It doesn’t..Version: 10.0.556

Used to be goodShameful that I would now have to subscribe to remove adds from an app that I already paid money for. So much clutter now, used to be simple and helpful..Version: 10.1.196

Why do thisHave the developers not heard if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. This new version is not what my wife and I purchased. We do not find the new app user friendly. The old app was brill and and we would give it five stars and we want back what we bought and signed up for. Not this not this app at all. We will have to find a new way to read the bible that is as clear and simple as the old Tecarta bible!!!.Version: 10.0.521

New versionI don’t like the new version at all. Why fix what wasn’t broken?.Version: 10.0.556

Great app!! But….I gave three stars because I’ve been using this app for years but this new “update” was not a good idea, I get that you want to “modernize” the app, I do get that, but many features were changed that were very valuable tools when it came to teaching.. for example before you could do split screen and have the Bible text plus commentary side by side now you click a “bubble” and the whole screen changes to the commentary, also before they had a Spanish setting for Spanish speaking people and you could read the books of the Bible in Spanish, now the version is in Spanish but the books are still in English and there is no way to get them in Spanish…or every time you get back in the app you need to always hit the “read” button to go to the Bible and it’s just overall NOT user friendly at all. Now, it’s NOT a matter of change cause I am ok with change but change for better not the other way around. Just being as honest as possible guys..Version: 10.0.542

A long step backwards.Life Bible app has made my Bible study process clunky and less streamlined. After using Tecarta for several years, I now have to change settings to remove unwanted and often unhealthy notes from between the Words of Scripture. That never happened before on Tecarta. The interlinear notes were annoying, but what really took this app to the delete bin for me was the much slower general processing time. After having to download the most common international Bible standard (AV), attempting to search it for a reference was way slower than anything that I had ever experienced from Tecarta or any other Bible app. When my data connection was patchy, Life Bible app did not search key words in the downloaded Bible version efficiently at all. It’s very slow! After using Tecarta happily for several years now, this seems to be a long step in the wrong direction. Moving on to Blue Letter Bible app for now and hoping for the best. My test drive on Blue Letter Bible app. was a good experience. The AV came as a standard with the app. and it searched quickly with all data and WiFi off. So far so good..Version: 10.1.085

The update is clunky, uppload is slow than previous version.Disappointed, this has been my number one-go-to as a leader. When an app is complicated and difficult to navigate as previously, it leaves one sincerely disappointed..Version: 10.0.615

Very disappointed. It worked perfectly with the other books I purchased in app. The feature update changed everything and now they don’t work properly. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Thanks for nothing..Version: 10.0.584
