✓ Horrendous compatibility issuesThe app is not compatible with iOS12, and anyone who still has an older phone such as iPhone6, which Apple still supports. All tickets are electronic but cannot be saved to Apple Wallet on iOS12. There is no option for paper or email tickets at all. The process to access tickets via the web is unnecessarily complicated and all but impossible for my 80-year old father, who has been attending for over 50 years. ✓ Useful, but poorly organizedWimbledon had a very intuitive iPad app years back, but generally majors just don’t put any effort into it. LATEST/HOME PAGE has top stories with their own article links, Arthur Ashe current match score, and some videos. SCORES has live scores and completed matches, but no option to filter your favorite players. SCHEDULE is the order of play. PLAYERS is where you select your favorite players from A-Z, but then again, you can’t filter your favorites (for that you gotta go to MORE, select settings, then favorites). MORE has a bunch of links, some of which should be in the PLAYERS section (photos), SCORES (Matchcast, Watch) and others on LATEST/HOME PAGE (news and draws) I would expand PLAYERS and SCORES, then build from there. ✓ Awful experience. Switched back to website!App takes 8 seconds to boot up on an iPhone X. That is absurd! What makes it worse is coming back to check scores after using other apps for a few minutes this app has to start up all over again for another 8 seconds. That’s horrible multitasking! So bad I switched back to using their website. Also horrible is seeing only three scores on screen at a time. Make a more compact scoring list so we don’t have to scroll forever in early rounds when there’s are dozens of matches. Your website at least shows 4 and espn manages to show twice as many. This becomes tedious & is especially frustrating when the press conference won't play after the ad ends. Both iOS & app are up to date, so this should not be happening. ✓ The Good, The Bad And The UglyThe 2019 version of the app works, most of the time. But the US Open radio can and has cut out if i’m going to other social media or news apps. The radio only has one channel; tis a pity. The 2019 Wimbledon app gave us the ability to listen to general coverage or 2 dedicated channels providing ball by ball commentary from the two main show courts. The “Ask the Booth” feature has been dropped. This is also unfortunate as listeners can’t interact anymore with the knowledgable commentators working for US Open Radio. It has been replaced by a lame Ask The Open bot which has a very limited number of answers. If you do type in “Live Person” you’ll only get a human IRL < 20% of the time, in my experience, before it times out or crashes. Some player profiles lack information and several of the profile pictures are really excellent action shots taken at Flushing Meadow; others don’t show enough of the athlete to see their face or are blank..Version: 11.1381

✓ Good but could be better (update)Update saturday 9/1 - I enabled push notifications. The problem is it has no controls options for match start, mid-match scores, final scores. MLB app knows how to do this well. I want to be reminded when a match starts, but not learn blow by blow scores before i’ve watched a recorded match or am a few minutes behind in real time while watching. So, today, I accidentally glance at my phone to learn Madison Keys won 3rd set 6-2, while I was still watching at 3-2. Dang. Have to shut off push notications. Pretty useless. On friday (8/31) video of matches wasn’t working on LTE. Favorites are great, but all favorites should be accessible from a pull down menu option in the players tab, not just embedded all the way down at the very bottom of the settings menu. Complaints so far for the 2019 app: --Very slow to load, even when already open in the background. --The Men's Singles filter for Scores > Completed Matches simply doesn't work. --The match stats on the Overview pages are completely inexplicable. For singles, they show Career Matches Won and YTD Matches Won, but not Matches Won or Matches Played in either category. Not very intuitive or user-friendly. “News” let’s me see a short video of a completed match (which is nice to have) but I don’t want to have to watch a video to find the result. Also, on my iPad the grounds map has blue squares wandering across it constantly which is very annoying (and I don’t understand why it wasn’t available until the day the tournament started).
