Photoshop Express Photo Editor for Negative User Reviews

Why did you change itThe previous 3+ apps that were merged to create this version were way better, you could easily (but not too accurately) cut pictures and add them to other pictures and a lot of different types of tools to use. All free. But now you have to pay to use a simple tool..Version: 22.6.0

My go to if I need to use an appI use it cause it’s Adobe and all my other main programmes are Adobe. I don’t find it amazing though. It’s good for if you are stuck on your phone and need to convey a concept. I got a developer response asking me to record an issue or email for specific help. There is no issue as such. And I don’t need help. It just seems like it’s a few of versions away from being a 5 star for me. I like that you can apply selective edits for example, however, those edits can’t be anything too major as I find there’s always a halo as you can never get the selection as refined as you need it. I always get to the big screen and find I need to do a ‘proper’ edit regardless of what it is that I’ve used the app for. Which means that at the mo, it’s a good app. But I find I can’t use it instead of the proper software..Version: 20.27.0

Needs updated iPhone Xs MaxGreat app don’t get me wrong but it needs updates for the iPhone XS Max. It needs to take into consideration that the exit button to close the app on the XS Max is directly where the scrolling button is for the picture editing options. This means you are constantly unable to scroll through the options. As well as that it’s just near impossible to save a picture without the auto enhancement feature getting added to you’re picture, I try to save it without it and it just constantly adds its self to it. These issues need fixed ASAP. The app is amazing apart from those current issues..Version: 6.8

No longer works for iPhone!Ok I updated my phone app and very little is open, it says I need a subscription. How is it that it all continues to work on my iPad? I remember paying a one time fee (on my iPhone) that opened the adobe suite in the past. So I can only edit on my iPad only and all the adobe products seem very integrated on my iPad, but not on my iphone nothing works and pictures won’t open between any adobe apps. and I am logged in. I’ve hit restore purchases and nothing happens. There is nowhere in the app to buy any subscriptions or purchases, and nothing works correctly. So I give it three stars because it works (for now) on the iPad and all my purchases are there and open and apps still work, but not at all on the iPhone. And you can’t find any instructions on what to do to get purchases back or where to go to purchase again. There is no way to email the devs in any app. No instructions for iPhone at all and what works on my iPad does not handoff to iPhone! It was great and now is actually worthless (as I do most of my picture taking and editing on my iPhone) unless I airdrop my photos to my iPad..Version: 20.7.0

OMG do Not waste your time on thisI am super disappointed with this app- you have to pay for everything trust me I paid for it but you can’t even buy it 😡all your hard work for that money just disappears the app probably has millions of 💰💴💵💸💶💷from all the poor people whose money has been paid to photoshop express so if you’re interested in it please do not buy this app!! Go to the App Store and find a different one please, please , and please!!! Lots of love to you guys, but lots of annoyance and hate to ps xpress .Adobe is a great company, so don’t hesitate to get any other apps from them - I have them all - the best one is Artleap, but please don’t get ps xpress unless you want to waste money, time, and brain power do not get this app Love Faolan.Version: 20.49.1

Why fix what wasn’t broken? The app has worked flawless until the latest facelift. The changes to the home menu, paired with what I will assume is a bug that takes you back to the home screen when you leave editing a photo ia really annoying. Makes have to go through albums and, if you are editing older photos, scroll through everything again. A big drawback added to what was once a perfectly functioning app. Also not a big fan of the icons on the top when editing a photo, they look buggy with the blurred edges. Please consider this for your next update..Version: 21.19.1

Business Model Flux & Selling Data? The App is good but a few things have left me miffed. Firstly, changing what features are available after I’ve already paid for the App is very annoying. My experience: first it’s free, then certain features cost money. I thought: that’s fair and anted up and bought the features that were behind that pay wall . And now features that I regained access to after paying are now restricted past an additional subscription-based model requiring a monthly or yearly fee. I’m not saying the app isn’t worth the fee—it’s great—and I understand that business models change—but what would be fair is to either let people who paid already to be grandfathered in, or at the very least offer an obvious refund for those who paid originally and don’t want to commit to continuous payment. Secondly, Why do you need access to all my photos? Other apps have come up with convenient interfaces to share what is necessary. I’ve already paid for the app, do you really need to sell my data also? Right now, one must restart the app every time they want to share additional photos. And many apps have more convenient methods—it definitely seems like a way to usher the user toward sharing all their photo data..Version: 22.7.0

Crashes randomlyI really like this app and use it all the time. It meets all of my photo editing needs and is fast and easy to use. My problem with the app is that it overheats my phone and crashes multiple times while I edit. The app closes and my progress is all lost which is very annoying. It also uses up a lot of battery. The selection tool is really good however I think that there needs to be an easier way to change the selected area (maybe just wherever you drag your finger gets selected/unselected) as it is quite hard to use only squares and rectangles when selecting a round shape..Version: 7.7.2

Undeserving of the photoshop nameWith affinity photo and other zillions of this type of app out there, this is kind of an embarrassment. To each their own, and not knocking anyone for liking it, but as a professional, this app - and their others - are not what you’d expect from adobe if you’ve relied on them for desktop software in the past. I can see plenty of instagrammers and selfie takers loving this, and that’s great - it’s nice to go beyond what apple stock apps and Instagram filters have to offer. 👍 However - Their scatterings of iOS apps meant to ‘add up’ to a pseudo-desktop ‘suite’ of features and offerings is exactly that - scattered. And highly frustrating because of it. There should be a much more robust amalgam of these apps for the iPad. Which the competition has already completed, so one must assume that adobe was and is always going to consider their iOS apps as lightweight apps for your phone only. Too bad, really. I appreciate adobe sketch, and I know that some of these apps have some perks and are designed fairly well, so it’s not like incompetence, it’s a plain and metered decision by adobe. With their pricey subscription model on desktop, and this ‘strategy’ for iOS, I can’t see them being top dog for much longer. Affinity and others may swallow them up while they remain somewhat oblivious and/or too profit-minded to survive this mobile/new-school editing software revolution..Version: 6.0.3

Disappointed.I used this app to photoshop my photos a few years ago, but because i never really needed it, i deleted it to add more space. Recently i re-downloaded it, and tried to use the basic functions that i was able to use for free, only to find out no, it’s not free anymore. I’m a minor, so i can’t really pay for the basic functions, and photoshop in general alsays needed ‘subscription’, again, which i don’t have the money for. I’ve found an alternative way, and am very pleased to say i am never recommending this app to anyone. Did once in the past, never will in the future. Disappointing..Version: 22.33.0

Meh...This app is ok, but I got confused. Two photo editing apps are using the same picture, so I though this app would have tonnes of features, but really, the only thing you can do is change the lighting and colours. I only gave it three stars because, although you have lots of choices concerning the shade and light, the blemish corrector doesn’t really work and the interface is pretty confusing. Also on the advertisement, it says 4 years and older but when you sign in, you have to be 13 and older. What???.Version: 6.2.1

Update?RESOLVEDApp hangs on startup after device updated iOS 13.5.1 Checked 24 hours later and no problem after logging in. Thanks for an app I use every day..Version: 20.21.0

Works — but with the usual Adobe B.S.Every time I try an Adobe application I wish I hadn’t. You can’t use it without being bugged to upgrade, and the privacy policy if you log in is worse than a sieve. Adobe have undoubted technical expertise — yet in the many years I’ve worked on all different platforms they’ve always seemed like a company I would rather not do business with. There’s plenty of honest apps out there. If you need the real Photoshop for work then it’s still one of the market leaders, even with their new pricing plan: but if you don’t, then you might just not want to pander to them for simplistic apps trading on the Photoshop name..Version: 8.0.5

This is nothing like photoshopThis is honestly the worst editing app in the App Store and is nothing like the real photoshop. I know it’s a watered down version for phones but the editing options are stupid and they could have added so many better functions that actual photoshop has. I don’t mind paying for premium functions but Adobe is expecting you to pay ridiculously high charges for the most basic of functions just because they have to cheek to label this as “Photoshop”. This app just creates caricatures of your images and they don’t look realistic. The whole point of photoshop is that it’s supposed to look realistic but every edit looks embarrassingly poorly edited and like a cartoon. The worst part is almost all of the basic functions are premium, which is fine, but you can’t finish editing to see what it looks like because after using one premium feature, it forces you to another page to either pay for the overpriced full version or undo your adjustments. Let me complete the image and I’ll see if it looks good enough to pay premium for - put a watermark over it if you’re scared of free use - but I can’t edit one thing and have it forcefully removed without seeing what I’m editing..Version: 21.40.1

This app sucksI am paying a yearly fee for a app that doesn’t work. It just keeps telling me I don’t have enough storage space to edit photos no matter how much space I free up. I have all my photos in iCloud and tons of space I don’t understand. Now it wants me to purchase storage space through the app ? It’s over a $100.00 a year for a app that doesn’t work..Version: 22.50.0

Bring out the cash$$!!This app used to be my go to app for editing. The one and only app that had a bunch load of amazing features with seamless navigation. UNTIL they decided to be thirsty thirsty pirates for your money. Do not get used to this app unless you’re willing to take out the dough $ Shame. Will be deleting this app..Version: 21.24.0

Better!Update 2: Kudos to the developers who actually read these comments and care about user experience. The recent update allows for solid color backgrounds for collages however, this doesn’t completely fix the issue because of a few issues. 1. The color pallets for borders and backgrounds are different. 2. The color sliders for the CMYK and RGB are difficult to get a specific number on and 3. Even if you pick the same color, which is easiest to do using the themes, there is still a hairline border between the edge of the border and the edge of the background. I miss when I could just add radius to the border and not have to mess with the background. Update 1:This app was recently updated but the issue with collages remains. When you apply a radius borders the app creates a white layer that makes your border look terrible. There isn’t a solid fill option to fill the White later just patterns and gradients. The new update is a step backwards. The collage maker is not completely functional because you can't get rid of edges with out Mix. The text editor is woefully under powered compared to Fontcandy..Version: 6.2.1

All Functions Continuously FrozenI installed this app on my iPhone XS Max around four weeks back. It had a different design user interface that all made sense, and worked. I initially installed it to use its photo mirror reverse feature, but afterward began discovering what all else it was capable of. Several weeks passed which during I was notified and installed an update from the developer. At the end of that period I needed to utilize the mirror reverse feature again, and discovered the changes to the layout of the user interface. From that point until now nothing works. It is all frozen except for a function labeled “Collage”. I notified the developer, and they replied requesting screen captures of what was showing, as well as clarification of the situation. They replied three times altogether, but since have gone “silent”. I told them in my first message that if nothing changed after a week, that I would be permanently deleting their app as in its current state it is nothing more than completely useless when all of its icon controls remain in effect as an “oil painting”. As I have not received any further communication from them tonight I followed through, and permanently deleted their app..Version: 7.3

Deleting it due to new privacy policy updatesI don’t like the new updates , I hate having to sign in through google or Facebook- the app shares your information with them- why do you force us to sign in with an adobe account just to use the app? You don’t need access to all my personal info, I read the privacy policy and it says you will share information with, and track all that I do on my phone through on google, Facebook ? Many of the old free features are now premium too. I’m deleting this app, and all apps that force you to “sign in” just to bombard you with spam emails, advertising to “go premium” and that track everything I do on line. I just want to edit photos! Not give you all my data. Goodbye, there’s other photo developing apps out there..Version: 7.7.3

Changing existing functionality from free to paid is a low actThis used to be a pretty good product and quite useful even in its free version, but recently the save quality was fixed at “low” in the free version and the other qualities are now only available in the subscription version. These type of changes should be clearly stated in the change log so people don’t upgrade their software unless they want this functionality. It’s appalling to sneak in this sort of functionality crippling without a clear warning..Version: 22.17.2

Good but has problemsI find this quite limiting in some areas. It has lots of great features but I would like to be able to move the Bokeh or light leaks or make them bigger or smaller Also I am constantly getting halfway through an edit and then it tells me that the purchase is complete awaiting feature application which just leaves the whole thing frozen on a white screen until I eventually have to turn it off and start from scratch it’s incredibly frustrating. I also think you should be able to put more than one effect on, if I want a light leak and Bokeh I can’t have both which means I have to keep going back and edit the photos I’ve already half edited.Version: 7.8

Don’t expect muchI’ve been using this for a few weeks now. And I’ve got a but to say. When I was scrolling down the AppStore (bcs I was bored). I stumbled upon this app and I jumped with excitement. I had for months tried to find a photoshop IOS app and this was it! This was my destiny.😀! But, I got on to the app and started to check out its features. And I was extremely disappointed with the limits that they put on the IOS version. Though, I brushed it off and started to look some more. Photoshop was never really easy to get your head around so I thought to just try for a bit. BUT HERE I AM WRITING A 2 STAR REVIEW ON THE APP THAT IS PHOTOSHOP! Plz add some new features on this app. And stop making all these different apps for different sections of the editing subject. It’s horrible! Y do I have to download 3 apps to just edit one photo! Just put them all together! Kuziko P.S, plz fix this. P.S.S, and don’t just write a reply saying “we will take note of this and definitely take care of your problem”. P.S.S.S, bcs I know your my last priority..Version: 7.2

Glitchy trialI thought I would try the three day trail. I started it and got the confirmation email. I set to work trying out the advanced features. Every time I did I got a window up inviting me to try the free trial. When I click on it to start the trial it says I have already subscribed. In the end I gave up and cancelled. Oh - and I did try turning iPad off and on again so tried several options before abandoning this. First time I clicked on “manage subscription” link in the email, I got a blank dialogue box. I began to fear I as going to get billed for an app I couldn’t use and couldn’t cancel. I got there in the end. Don’t really know if the advanced features are any good or not or worth the money..Version: 20.27.0

Far too basicThere are tons of apps that can do far more than this one can and they're free. Unless you want to waste $ to play with filters, move on..Version: 6.0.1

Subscription Cost is way to highIf you want young people to learn this tool make it free to use please. It’s a rubbish CX when you see some features you like using tool and cannot save the results unless a purchase is made. Very disappointed! Will delete app and use other apps instead!.Version: 22.17.2

What happend to the 3 day free trialWhen I went to get the 3 day FREE trial it told me to choose the plan I wanted. It also said that i could cancel it at anytime I have tried to cancel it but it didn’t give my money or give me a 3 day free trial I canceled because it didn’t give the free trial and it basically just scammed me I have already sent fees back through the app but I highly doubt they’ll give me a refund or even address this matter.Version: 21.12.1

Please help🙏🏻Hello, I know I probably won’t get a response but it’s worth a shot. I have downloaded more photo editing apps than you can imagine. I have tried so hard to figure this issue out and I can’t for the life of me. So I’m really desperate at this point. Can you please tell me how to resize an image without compromising the photo? PSexpress gives you the aspect ratio presets for different social media platforms to choose from. But, it doesn’t matter what I choose because it always cuts off my photo. I don’t want to do that. I want to be able to fit in the FULL size photo. If it means I could crop it into being a full sized photo, I would be willing to loose on the quality. And, I don’t want to put it on a white background so that the photo fits in that square because I would still be loosing on the photo. I want to be able to resize to whatever dimension I need to in order to fit the photo in different social media platforms. I know that a lot of these platforms automatically compress the photo for you but, I would like to resize it before I upload so I don’t compromise the photo, and it doesn’t get cut off. I have watch many videos yet, I can never get it. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could suggest what I can do to fix this frustrating problem. I would be so grateful!!.Version: 20.22.2

Good basics but infuriating interruptions! The experience of using this App has definitely deteriorated from 5 star to 3 stars. It does have excellent basic editing tools - though not dissimilar from other free tools. Without the interruptions it would probably be the best of the bunch - but not once you factor in the regular crashes, and harassment to rate or subscribe for additional very costly subscriptions. Whatever happened to pricing that matches the value you get? The market seems to assume that a deliberately annoying free product will soften you up to sign up to an indefinite financial transfusion just to get something that is only of limited incremental benefit.....Version: 7.4

You’ve messed up everythingThis app stinks now. I pay monthly already for Adobe products and this little app came with my already monthly fee now as of this morning I can’t do any of the fun stuff anymore. Doesn’t make sense especially since I pay $15-$17 per month already for adobe photoshope, light room, and bridge. Why can’t I get the phone app with all the special features anymore?.Version: 21.14.0

Suddenly premiumApparently the “feedback” you’re asked to send from within the app goes nowhere.. if it’s negative, anyway! Dodgy. After using PS Express for about a year, suddenly half of the features I use it for are “premium.” I get that Adobe want to make money, but springing this on existing users out of nowhere just makes us frustrated enough to use another app out of a sense of spurned loyalty. I used to be happy to have the cute little PS Express logos on my photos, even though they were optional. Now I wonder if they will always be? Sorry but I’m moving on. Luckily there are literally countless apps that do the same things..Version: 7.4

Why?I’ve always used photoshop mix for photo editing such as adding photos into other photos by cutting certain bits out of them to add in. It was by far the best one on the App Store but recently it along with one other app was merged into photoshop express. At first I thought this was great as I no longer had to switch between apps when doing different edits to photos but when I went into the app a lot of the features I usually use now require a premium purchase. I understand that in app purchases are necessary for you to earn money but I don’t get why there are very limited free features and why a permanent premium subscription costs over $50! (I live in Australia). Please can there at least be a subscription for each group of features (from each merged app) so they are a lower price and are more worth it to buy. If not I will most likely switch apps but I still recommend the app to anyone willing to pay that money as it offers more features than any other app for mobile..Version: 23.13.0

StopPromoting me to review thisIv reviewed this app like 20 time and continue to get printed to(like there isn’t even a x to close the window it just keeps bringing me here. And it’s always when stuff gets worse. Stop asking me to review it lol I pay for the premium or whatever and I’m bombarded with stupid “adds” while I can only edit photos 10/20 at a time before everything I click and every file prompts “cannot be opened”. Reset the app and I can edit maybe 6 more before the errors come again. Random crashing as if I actually go on a streak of editing without errors, but that’s less frustrating than having to reset the app every 10 minutes so I can actually get some editing done... Also the update that made it so I can’t access/edit photos from my own phone, on because the app needs to now be connected to the internet so you have the option to post on their “social media” built in dashboard.... I don’t want that.... I want to edit my photos..... I don’t need to see other peoples work(even if it is cool) I need to edit the photos on my phone so I can download/upload/take more photos to continue the cycle.... Ask me to review. I do it because the close button is blocked, do a stupid review, go back edit one photo and BOOM REVIEW OUR SHITASS APP. Well it would be better if I didn’t have to review the app every photo I crop and and center.... plus whatever else I wrote before....Version: 21.10.1

No PS Touch, that’s for sureWith limited functionality, seemingly intended to protect the Adobe revenue stream by chiselling for “premium” features rather than by actual product appeal, and dressed up in a rather opaque interface, this is a must to avoid. It does little that cannot be achieved more gracefully using the Apple photo editing tools, even if you buy the extras, and makes a meal out of photo sharing of the kind that iCloud does without even thinking. You may have a use for it if you are already assimilated into the creative cloud and process your photos on a PC or Mac, but as a mobile solution it is woefully deficient compared to the relatively decent PS Touch, which did a straightforward job for the money. If you are editing and uploading on the move, Apple tools do the job more easily; if you are intending to do rough cuts mobile followed by detailed processing on a workstation of some kind, then iCloud followed by the editor of your choice make more sense. Sorry Adobe, you have done better in the past and you ought to know better now..Version: 7.7.3

DisappointedIn my experience the previous separate photoshop apps were superior in their functionality and now I’m being charged for the most basic of editing features that were previously free and have been around for decades. I adored the photoshop mix app and I mourn that I lost it after getting a new phone and cannot get it back. Unfortunately these are the kind of “updates” I have come to expect from adobe. The newer features that integrate machine learning are cool but how typically useful could they be if Adobe needs to put more basic features behind a paywall in addition to the new and interesting features?Maybe they would not need to try and give you less for more if they didn’t alienate customers with this kind of behavior in the first place. I’m sure this kind of strong arming and optimizing for the widest audience (having lots and lots of automatic features at the expense or instead of having fewer feautures that are complex and powerful in their functionality) pays off in the long run but it’s very disappointing as a creator. I would gladly pay a one time fee of like $25 to just have the mix app back but I dont think the current model is reasonable for basic photoshop on the go and it is less functional than previous iterations for my purposes..Version: 21.49.0

Money GrabBring back Photoshop Mix.Version: 22.50.0

Compared to the power and complexity...It’s ok. Sure. But my title refers to the Photoshop by ADOBE I had (and had to lose) because designers wanted not to retrofit the BEST iPhone app I’ve ever used called (photoshop by adobe) which I always think, “ahh if only being about the power that PS is rather than it being able to “fit in” with other adobe apps. I lost money when my iOS couldn’t run it anymore and there is not ONE app that did what photoshop has always done. Endless layers, skewing, distorting, selections. Anyone that lost that app is angry at adobe. You just can’t be. Progress isn’t always pretty. Stay RAW!.Version: 6.5

JunkWhy on earth pressing undo completely re-zooms and re-orients the photo you are working on when you are using the heal tool is completely beyond me, which you’ll be doing a lot because the heal tool is wildly unpredictable and it takes many taps and undos to get each heal edit right, the logical thing to happen when pressing undo is that the previous action is simply undone, but no the app zooms out and moves the image and you lose track of your precision edits and you constantly have to zoom and re-zoom while also inadvertently causing unintended new edits to occur which also need undoing in order to continue editing which makes the app unbelievably painful, near impossible to use. Paywalling jpeg quality is just rude, used to be a simple touch up app but PSE is now a bloated impossible to use mess that constantly tries to manipulate you into handing over money and access to private photos and information..Version: 21.37.0

Ridiculous restrictionsI used to own the two seperate apps “photoshop mix/fix” and they were much better than this. The most basic restrictions on this app are unavailable to you unless you pay? These deals aren’t reasonable at all. without paying you can’t even use a simple mechanic such as cutting or adding areas with your finger or add more than two pictures when editing on mix. This is quite disappointing. I can understand putting premium out there but can’t you at least give us the option to watch an ad or anything just to use basic functions like those? Without them you quite literally can’t do anything that’s above mediocre quality, the smart cut doesn’t even work..Version: 22.13.0

Less free options with each updateThis used to be an awesome little app. However with each upgrade they add more options that you have to then pay for which I can understand. However they change some of the options that used to be free to make you pay for them instead when you’re used to being able to use them for free. For those of us that might use the app once a month or once every couple months to maybe put some text on a picture to adjust the color on a picture it’s not worth it to pay for a subscription or to pay to use these little features that used to be free. And the worst part is they don’t even list which ones you’re going to have to pay for you go when you do the work you add the text and everything and then when you go to save that’s when they tell you that you’ve used an option that you have to pay for. That’s just a dirty tactic in my view. I’d rather see two versions of this app one the bare-bones version that is free for those of us that only he was at a few times a year and then the paid for version which is got more stuff. But don’t give us some thing for free for a while and then take it away that’s just wrong.Version: 22.16.0

Less than one star. This product is a complete waste of time. Every time you open a new image or tool, the nag screen comes up asking you to update to Premium. This is the worst image editor that I have used in over twenty years. Perhaps I’ve found that Adobe has gotten old and their software has fallen behind. I no longer use Premiere as DaVinci Resolve runs circles around it and it free. With the automation I have added to Inkscape, it makes illustrator appear that it’s 25 years behind. Still what can you expect from the company that set loose Adobe-Flash on the world..Version: 22.50.0

Bug with Recent updates (~2mo's ago)I held off writing a review because I hoped Adobe would fix this problem. I enjoy this app very much and it's a robust, useful, full-featured app. BUT....accessing it via the Photos app (e.g., by clicking Edit and using PS Express to edit the photo in the Photos app interface) has become buggy all of a sudden. More than 75% of the time I edit a pic this way, when I go to save it the screen will go black and the little "working" animation will twirl around and around. And it never saves the changes. INFURIATING. Often I will close the Photos app, reopen it and try to edit it again only for the same result. Sometimes a third time is the charm and it will save the photo edits. Opening the PS Express app before doing this doesn't change the outcome. I prefer being able to quickly edit it via the Photos app as the workflow is easier than loading manually in PS Express directly (when I have many to go through). This only started about 2 months ago. I have iPhone 8, 256GB, latest iOS updates. Please please fix this, it's been a bug for long enough. Contact me if you'd like me to video record this happening or for help recreating the issue. Thanks!.Version: 7.4

Not user friendlyLittle to no proper instructions. Just want to remove a person and move someone over. Can’t seem to do it. Waste of money.Version: 22.49.0

A mixed bag...There are some things I really like about the app, and some things I really dislike. Positives: I really like the ability to create custom looks. This is a huge time saver... pull up a photo, apply your own personal style, and the photo is ready to save. I also like the adjustment tools as a whole. They are intuitive, easy to use, and cover my needs for post processing. Negatives: I hate the social part of the app. Every time I start the app, someone’s hoot pops up and I need to exit this to get to my photos. For social feeds, I use Instagram and I shouldn’t be force fed social media just to modify my pictures. This is a more recent update... you didn’t get that splash screen in the past. Ideally we should be able to disable this in settings. The other negative is the app can be slow or crash at times. This has happened for well over a year, and I originally thought it was my old iPhone. Nope... same issues when I got my iPhone X at the end of last year. It will freeze on a photo and take a couple of minutes to make one adjustment. This doesn’t happen in other photo processing apps I’ve used, just this one. Overall, it’s still the app I use most often for ease of use... I just wish the social splash could be turned off, and that the stability would improve... and I’d give it a 5..Version: 6.10

WackPhotoshop is fine, but hey dude, don’t make it ‘free’ if you’re going to get a pop up every minute or so asking for a subscription, only to remove your edits when you decline..Version: 22.50.0

Powerful app when it worksI love using this app to quickly edit my cell phone photos. The variety and ease of the tools are great and allow me to make precise edits to get my photos to look exactly the way I want. I have many presets that I’ve created and saved to the “My Looks” menu that make it easy to replicate my favorite edits across many photos over time- a huge benefit to speed and consistency. However, the app is buggy. It freezes or crashes often. It can be very slow and get “stuck” when switching between menus in the app. And sometimes, it just won’t open certain images. These issues have not been a deal breaker for me- usually shutting down the app and restarting is all that is needed. But it is frustrating and slows down the process when I’m trying to edit several photos. One other wish for this app: once I save a series of edits to “My Looks”- I can no longer see the edit “recipe” for that edit. I wish there was a way to look at the “Looks” you’ve created and see the edits that you used to create that look. Overall, great app- very powerful and gets used almost daily. Like most things in life, does have room for improvements..Version: 21.49.0

HonestlyEasily a 5 Star app if not for adobe’s constant angling for more money and more user data, updates that reduce functionality and unexpectedly lock you out of the app just so they can demand your email address in order to track and market to you. They already had the market cornered and had one of the most loyal customer bases of an software company that they’ve built up since the earliest days of Macintosh computers. They are ubiquitous in the desktop publishing industry world wide with zero competitors in sight (at least once quark dodo’ed out). Now that they’ve introduced their monthly leasing structure for their flagship products they are not only destroying what they’ve built up until now but more importantly they’ve stopped cultivating younger generations of loyal users who will choose other photo editing software packages that have a relatively minimal one price tag. No ones going to stop using photoshop who’s used it for years but students and other new users will be using other more affordable options. Basically I rant to say that adobe decided to bleed the goose that laid the golden egg for bigger quarterly gains. Suckers ruining a good thing. But this app for the iOS is on point and tight, if you know what your doing and not just interested in pre-fab filters there’s an impressive amount of photo editing options here. Get it together before that golden egg laying goose flys the coop..Version: 6.9

DisappointingEver since the last update or 2, I have no longer been able to edit in Photo on my iPhone. I am forced to launch the app each time I want to use it, can’t easily locate the photo/s I want (swiping no longer gets me to the next photo), there is no easy way of saving edits without being returned to the first screen). I give up! It was a fabulous app previously- I even bought the full software for my Mac because I loved it! Now I’m looking for a replacement that will let me quickly and easily do the basics as I take photos..Version: 6.10

Pay to PlayThis app has a good idea, except that you have to be premium to do more than half of it! Thankfully you can have a three day trial, but afterwards you don’t feel satisfied..Version: 7.7.3

Bad updateI can't figure out how to save to camera roll since the last update. It keeps prompting me to sign up for free 3 day trial, after which I'll be charged a monthly fee. I'm not trying to do anything but put a border around a photo, not something I'm going to pay for when there are apps that let me do that for free. I need to be able to edit and save without being pestered to sign up for a free trial of something I'll never subscribe to, and I certainly don't want to have to screenshot every time because I can't figure out the update. Please fix, or if it's subscription only, please indicate that so people like myself can delete it and stop taking up space on our phones. I don't want to be screenshotting stuff I'm supposed to be paying for, but it's always been a free app and I see nothing to indicate that's no longer the case. It seems I just can't figure it out. Please fix if this is a bug. If this is no longer a free app with in app purchases, maybe it would be appropriate to put a notice in the app saying so, or at least make it impossible to begin editing without subscribing..Version: 21.25.0

I have to login ???Why do I have to login to edit a photo? I don’t need one more site harvesting my information. For this reason.. App deleted..Version: 7.7.3

MakeupApp works great and love the Fine Tune button option for a realistic look every time!.Version: 22.50.0

Keeps freezingUpdate: still freezes but now it has an added bonus of not showing full resolution pictures whilst editing. Come on guys - I’ve paid £30 for this!!! I don’t expect to have to be flitting between ps express and my camera roll just to choose the right photo. Ridiculous This was great until it was updated. Now you have to go through a whole extra step to edit your photos which wasn’t there before. If you want to edit multiple photos, now the back button takes you back to the main menu rather than the folder you were in before - tedious and totally unnecessary. Also doesn’t help that the app keeps freezing, crashing and generally just really buggy (esp when cropping). Shame as I’ve paid for the full version. Waste of money the way it is at the moment..Version: 21.41.0

Can’t use that now it’s premium...Have been a long, long time user and loved the continued advances in this App but lately the boys in the back room have been getting greedy - removing sometimes simple features and displacing them To ‘premium’. And asking for more money: when you have an unreliable income stream it’s good to have something you can rely on and not have to decide whether to eat or edit your pics! If you can’t give me that I’ll go elsewhere: let’s have some consistency and stop being greedy - save that for the big boys eh?? I’ll be looking elsewhere soon!.Version: 21.15.1

Almost worthlessJust like all the others … a few filters and some very limites editing tools… Need to do the real work using many other apps….Version: 22.50.0

Awful!!!!Really a beginner with Photoshop and to be honest this app has put me off all things Adobe! Ive spent the morning trying to do very basic edits on one photo collage and Ive lost most of my edits now. Everything seems to be Premium (even though when you are editing there’s no indication on the icons available so no idea what’s free or not) so when you select an option you’re shot into a circular message hell…you have no choice but to a) pay for Premium or b) lose all you edits. Even the pop up message is confusing as it seems to offer you options to continue or lose your edits…continue being to pay for premium..if I try to cancel and go back…guess what all your edits are lost. Clearly the product wont speak for itself otherwise you’d let me finish editing and then choose to upgrade. Like fake, cheap apps that are just after the install and up sell. Thought Adobe was better than that!…..Version: 21.41.0

Extrêmement difficile de corriger une photoJe ne sais pas si c’est un bug ou si c’est voulu avec une nouvelle mise à jour mais ça va très très mal corriger des photos.Version: 21.25.0

I’m so sick of the subscription model“You’re using premium edits.” But I’m purposely not selecting any of the premium features so I just can’t save anything. I even tested an image I hadn’t edited at all and couldn’t save it. I wish I could just buy the app outright and not have a subscription which ends up costing a small fortune in the long run. Update: The developer response shows they didn’t read my review at all. I didn’t use any of the editing tools and I still couldn’t save without the app telling me I was using premium edits and throwing up the payment screen. So I uninstalled it. I won’t make communication private by emailing. The app is real pushy about the subscription, like most apps these days. It makes me so tired. I’m so sick of capitalism..Version: 21.10.1

Latest "Upgrade" Breaks It!Once again I have been stupid enough to "upgrade" an app that was working fine. This time I cannot use this app unless I register and sign in. F.O.R.G.E.T. I.T! You cannot have my email. I will NOT register. Developers:- "log in is now mandatory". Why? Use of this app is NOT mandatory. There are others I will now use instead. Thanks but no thanks. I gotta stop "upgrading" as recently I am only worse off. App deleted. Edit: I just saw the developers response to my review. You guys just don't get it do you? Log in is NOT mandatory as use of the app is NOT mandatory. What are you going to do, have me arrested for NOT using it? I have already deleted your app! It has gone and will not be coming back on my iPad. I am finished with you guys. I used to use a full suite of Adobe software on my PC, as expensive as it was. Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Audition, Encore, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro, a full set. As they are all cloud based now, I am replacing them with other software as they need upgrading. Sorry, I don't want you having access to my work, I want my work on my servers not yours. You are making yourselves irrelevant. I will not be buying anymore of your software, and will watch, as has happened with IBM, you fade into history. Bye bye!.Version: 7.6

I would’ve PAID to keep Photoshop Mix & FixY’all had a great thing with Mix & Fix. Now y’all take several steps backwards to incorporate counterintuitive ideas like meme and quote templates? In Mix you could go in depth with something as small as how far I wanted the font to be spaced; now I’m reduced to having to sort through bland templates that restrict more than innovate. For the option of a a monthly subscription or $35 for the year, I should be able to add a simple solid lined border or add more than only 5 layers. On top of that, how on earth are you supposed to go from editing a photo to mixing layers without exiting back to the main page and the app asking if you want to safe your progress or discard. This app is absolute trash and I was one of the suckers that fed into the click bait that all the things I could do in Mix “and more” would be in Express. I can never get back the hour that I spent in this useless, pandering-to-social-media-culture app. Like the title said I would literally pay to get Mix back and keep the support going rather than attempt to sit through this horrible UI and useless features like the stickers and text templates. This app is trash..Version: 21.26.0

Log in nonsenseWhy do I need to create an account and log in just to edit some photos? Not worth the hassle..Version: 22.50.0

Update plsPls make a update and add abilitys where you can put photos in other photos like photoshop it and select other photos and cutout them in a line and make it look like its in the photo but photoshop like you want a lion in your house and you took a photo off the ground and you have a picture of lion you can cut it in a line of its model and put in and make the lighting customize to make it look alittle bit realistic and prank your friends to make them think you actually had a lion found in your house. Wouldn’t that be funny? Pls add this ability to select other photos and outline them and put in your picture if you add this ability i would rate this 5 stars cause the things you can do in it are kinda boring for me it would be fun if you add this ability pls have a nice day 🙂.Version: 6.4

You have to pay for EVERYTHINGIt has a lot of great features except you HAVE TO PAY FOR EVERYTHING. I spent an hour editing this one photo only when I went to save it it said I had to upgrade to Premium and when I didn’t, they deleted all of my editing. So disappointing and so not worth it..Version: 21.23.0

Bring back photoshop mixBring back photoshop mix.Version: 22.3.0

Good app but...You know how you can share your photos with other people who use the app? I just find that the liking system really needs to improve. People are getting thousands of views on stunning pictures but only getting a few likes. I’ve posted my own photos that aren’t the top photos but they’re pretty good and I’ve got no likes! I know the point of this app is to enhance and photoshop pictures but it’s quite rude of people to just view photos and not like them when they’re amazing photos!!! I just think the people on the app need to step up and like other peoples picture more and give them credit for their stunning work! And also I’d like to broaden the range of photos to other people’s hobbies and preferences instead of just lands and people..Version: 6.2.2

Brilliant & free, but not for long, apparently...This is my go-to app for post photo processing. It’s brilliant. All the filters, tools and effects you’ll need pretty much, and the best thing about it is it’s still free. It hasn’t jumped on the money-grabbing bandwagon of other app developers, pushed by Apple to do so of adopting a subscription service..... yet. It’s coming though, if the hints in the app currently are anything to go by. There is a Premium version on its, and when it does I’ll be binning it just like the other apps like AirBrush etc that I loved but have gone the same way. I refuse to pay a subscription of 10, 20, 30 pounds a year just to occasionally use a few filters and blur effects. Yes some features will remain free but we all know they’re the basic ones. The fancy filters & effects will be banished behind a paywall. This is, as it stands a 4/5 star app that will drop to a 1/2 for me. So for the purpose of this review, it’s a 3..Version: 7.9.1

Used to be amazing.. but keeps getting worse.I used to love this app and everything about it. I’m sure to most professional photographers it may not be much, but for me, it does all I need, plus some. I have used this app for quite some time. There were issues in the past that happened very rarely that I was able to just look past due to the updates and bug fixes. However, now it’s basically not even worth it anymore. Half of the filters don’t work! I’ll tap one (one of my favorites) only to see it puts it back to its original setting and doesn’t put a filter on the photo at all, even though it says I have applied it. Before it would just be a few filters and then like I said before, an app update with bug fixes would help. Not literally 50-60% of the filters don’t work. You tap them only to see they put your photo back to the original setting. And no, this isn’t due to a premium setting type filter either. It’s both premium and basic filters. This app is practically useless now, which is a real shame because it was me favorite for the longest time..Version: 20.27.0

Not user friendlyZero stars. Sorry but this is not a user friendly app. All I’ve needed to do is add a before and after shot, side by side, of my home renovations, simple. But it has literally taken me 3 hours to try to figure it out. It’s wasted my time. And I haven’t even succeeded yet. You’d think something so simple wouldn’t take too long but the interface of this app is too complicated, and even when you think you’ve found the right button it takes you off on the wrong tangent. It kind of reminds me of all the major companies now… Press #1 for x, press, #2 for y, press #3 for z. Oh and if you press #1 you will be diverted back to the start..Version: 23.13.0

It would be great but…This app would be great but there is a major problem (and a few minor problems) which ruins the whole thing. The worst problem is how most of the time if you click a new subject (e.g:theme/border/stickers) it usually says buy premium or something and there is no exit button to exit the ‘ad’. The only ways you can get rid of the ad is to log out and pick your photo again,(your edits on your photo will be removed) or click the ‘x’ button and it will remove your most recent edit. But because when you change your ‘subject’ the ‘ad’ comes up, it is nearly impossible to finish and upload a photo. Another good thing to do is to add in a search bar for finding stickers or borders or other subjects. But all I really want is for you guys to fix the ‘major bug’ then this app would be amazing..Version: 22.29.0

Log in required before anythingYou have to log in/create an account before even seeing the app or what they offer... You surely don’t need internet / login to edit photos on your phone, so don’t try a ‘get a free account’ before even showing me what I’m getting.Version: 7.7

ReviewPS express has really helped me when I want to edit My photos briefly but I don’t know much about it and it would be helpful if there was more tutorials. A lot of the stuff isn’t really free and I’m thinking about actually deleting it and just getting FaceTune. It is a great app though and I enjoy playing around with the effects. I just want to be able to make custom backgrounds. Like in the ad there was a girl dancing and the background colour was changed to black in an instant. I want to be able to do that..Version: 7.5

Adobe Photoshop just isn’t like other Photo Editing SoftwareI’ve recently picked up graphic design and sometimes don’t have access to a computer or laptop. So I was skimming through the web searching for an app to help “professionally” edit photos, and I emphasize the quotes. Yes, this app may be professional or made by a professional company; however, the app just isn’t up to standards. I’m trying to blend pictures together, create different stacks, etc. The features just aren’t all there. I’ve just this app back in 2019 and was satisfied with the variety of options when it came to tools and hardware. Unfortunately they’ve reworked the app and made it easier to use, in-turn hindering my ability to make something small into something bigger. I truly hope that Adobe could change or revert back to an older version, or even make a separate app called “Adobe Photobooth”, which is what this app is. You take a picture insert it and it fixes the picture. Not the ability to alter it with others or add other variables to get the picture to your liking. My review is a 1 star, only for the bare reasons of dryness..Version: 21.45.0

Photoshop Express VS AviaryI downloaded this app but never used it because I was so used to using Aviary even long after it was no longer supported or available in the App Store. I got so used to it and it was easy to use and free. Finally when I did an IOS upgrade it rendered Aviary useless. So I had to start using Photoshop Express. It is a lot harder to maneuver around than Aviary but it does have a more extensive and complex feature set. You will get hit with a lot of ads trying to get you to buy the subscription version. Be careful so of the ads are like land mines. You may think you are going to use an adjustment feature and it is a buy button. Be real careful using it, but it does give you really great results. This app does give you a lot of controls, but if you are in a hurry to to do a quick edit and send of a photo I would say try and find another app. I know how to use the desktop Photoshop very well and this app tries to give you those features but if you are on the go and want to do something quick and 123 while walking down the street, this is not the app for you..Version: 21.48.2

Paid and can’t useHi there, I paid for a one year subscription and all of a sudden for some reason it has me under some weird email address and keeps saying “start free trial” I can’t use the app but have paid for it and can’t seem to find how to contact someone anywhere. Will change review and rating once someone helps me resolve this. Thanks.Version: 22.30.0

What happed to mix and fix?I use Photoshop express and photoshop fix and most importantly mix on my IPad Air 2. And have used it for years. I got a second IPad Air 2 some time ago. And decided to add the same apps to it. Nope. Fix and Mix are no longer available. Even if you previously downloaded them. So I googled to find out what happened. Apparently, the features are supposed to be integrated into express now. Except when I click Mix, it does absolutely nothing. Just sits there. I have tried to find out if this is a bug. Or if they are requiring us to pay for this crucial feature now. Either way, they took away what was a great feature and as with nearly everything else today, give us less quality, inferior products or services. This is the trend on the world today. But by doing this, Adobe has effectively crippled this app to be worthless to anyone who needs to do anything more than the absolute basic photo editing. I refuse to pay monthly fees for any software. Never have. Never will. For anything. So without an option to pay once and use, I will be switching to a competitor and not looking back.. Shame on you Adobe for taking these apps away….Version: 23.10.0
