✓ Work aroundsVery helpful app to use in conjunction with setting restrictions on safari/other browsers. Only thing is, when you open the web browser through the links/ privacy settings on certain apps, the safari app will open instead of the covenant eyes browser. This happens even when you list Covenant eyes as your primary browser. To avoid safari altogether, one must use apps like Skype, Telegram, BMO…etc from the covenant eyes browser, which is less convenient. Hopefully they can fix this glitch soon!✌️.Version: 5.5.2

✓ Far from flawlessEven though the browser can be a bit buggy, randomly going blank for no reason, having open tabs display one website but have a different URL on it, and slow everything down on my phone that requires internet because of its VPN kicking in, I still give it 5 stars because it has kept me from SO MANY stumbling blocks. Does it block absolutely everything? No. But it allows you to add websites to its blocked list so that in the future those pesky pitfalls will be inaccessible. In addition to this app, as basically everyone using it also has an accountability partner, I’d recommend setting up Screen Time on your phone so that you’re not using apps that could bring about temptation for too long or during hours that you may be prone to wandering. There are still many improvements that this app needs, but as of now it’s getting the job done..Version: 6.1.4

✓ Great app! Almost perfect!Really great application which helps to support the recovery. I recommend the 30 day program whilst using this. The VPN not only worked here in Australia well but also worked smoothly when I went to China. The support team are also very responsive and helpful. The only problems I have experienced have been: 1. Drained battery life which happens sometimes after updating the phone, the app or having background app refresh on. Most of the time though it seems to be fine. 2. Sometimes when you click on a URL it doesn’t open in the browser initially and needs tapping again or it is loading but the loading bar which runs across the search bar is obscured by the search bar and you have to click cancel as though you are cancelling a search to see the progress of the page loading. ✓ Overall great product- love the screen shotsWe have struggled with pornography exposure in our house, and only wish we had covenant eyes sooner. Just installing it in our home helped our son to break free of the cycle because he thought we could see what he was looking at. Also- the screen shots are great conversation starters for what people are doing online: appropriate or inappropriate; they know I have an eye on them and I care what they are up to. That said, we can’t get complacent that we have eyes everywhere. It’s hard to keep up with new threats. There is no substitute for a good relationship with your kids and spouse. ✓ Was good but the iPhone app is performing poorlyI’ve used CE for years, it’s a big part of my recovery and is an absolute necessity for my work and personal life. It works great on my Mac and PC’s, completely seemless and the screen accountability is fantastic for accountability. I have two gripes though that need fixing. First is the crashing on an iPhone 10 has been really bad in the last few weeks, it’s completely unusable. On the good side though, I reported it to CE and they responded very promptly. I had already deleted and reinstalled and it cleared the issue, they instructed me to clear the cookies and cache which I will try next time first. Secondly is YouTube in browser for the iPad. The full screen mode is awful, you have browser bars top and bottom, which also cover controls for scrubbing and exiting out of full screen mode. If these two things are fixed I’ll revisit my review. We put up with a slower browser because we have to, but it would be nice if it was a little snappier. Grateful the product exists!.Version: 5.3.3

My only complaint - and big complaint - is that on iPhone the Covenant Eyes browser isn’t presented as an option when opening a website from an email. Only Safari and Chrome pop up as options (and if you have restrictions set up so that CE is your only browser, you have no options). The only way to open items in CE from email is to push and hold the hyperlink in the email, copy the web address, open the CE browser, then paste the address into the CE browser. This may not seem like a big deal, but it is really frustrating and can be time consuming. How come Chrome is able to be an option as a non-native browser on iPhone, but CE is unable to be a default browser?.Version: 4.0.1

✓ Great accountability, but there are bugsThe fact that this app monitors my entire iPhone is a big step forward. I really wish iOS devices were more friendly with apps like Covenant Eyes that keep people accountable for their device usage. I’ve experienced some bugs and glitches that needed to be worked out. For example, occasionally my Internet connection will disconnect entirely for a brief period time. I can delete the app and reinstall it to fix it, or I can wait a little bit for it to sort itself out. Also, the app seems to affect my location services. My Apple Maps seems to struggle to find where I’m at while using cellular data and driving. If that could be sorted out then great. Overall this is a big step forward for iPhone accountability. Remember, this is meant to supplement your conversations, provide accountability, but ultimately you have to want freedom more than you want porn. You combine CE with an invested friend, some hard conversations, brutal self-honesty & self-examination — if you’re a faith-based individual, involve God too. ✓ Sorry, but this app is very buggyThis app has caused my iPhone to run so slow! The browser is constantly crashing, the loading screens take so much time that they time out and can’t load, and right now the app won’t even open entirely. It crashes every time I try to open the browser. I hate to say it, but this really needs work. ✓ Good concept. very buggyI got the app because i was looking for something that keeps me accountable with regards to when i surf the net. the concept of covenant eyes is great. but the app is extremely buggy! only reason i am still using it so far is because there is nothing else in the market (that i know of). i dont know how long i will bear the fustrations..time will tell. logging in fails more often than not. google tab goes to google page and not search what i asked it to. tapping the top of the app does not scroll to the top of the page like with other apps. bookmarking sometimes fail to store the page, but brings up a generic covenant eyes page. now that ios 4 exist. please make the browser run in the background rather than having to start all over if i change programs. please please please fix the bugs!! before i run out of patience!.Version: 0

One big improvement is that the CE browser opens automatically when you click a link in email, etc. Previously, Apple forced Safari to open; if blocked, which it should be, you had to copy paste. Ugh. No more. IOS seems to see the CE browser as Safari. Browser functionality is excellent and VPN works well both in the US and while traveling. ✓ Fantastic app for internet accountability however…It could do with an anti uninstall feature, whereby you request to uninstall and 24 hours later get a code to uninstall and a way that if going through support to diagnose any issue that the feature can be bypassed. That way it will stop the temptation to delete momentarily to feed lusts and desires and put the app back. I have had 1 problem though, it lags more than safari, but I still would recommend to friends because it is keeping our whole family safe. ✓ Awesome and FreeingI have had covenant eyes installed on my phone for quite a while but was super disappointed with the fact that it didn’t work for the iPhone. This new version fixed all of that and I’m very happy with it. There are some kinks and rough spots here and there, but overall it has worked well. It’s a wonderful experience to be free to not have to think about the temptation and to know that if anything pops up on my report my buddies will ask me about it. All of that said I can’t wait until the day that the CE browser can be fully integrated into the iPhone system. It would be awesome if it would function seamlessly alongside things like keychain, wallet, and the rest of the IOS. But this time I went the full nine yards and finally really overcome addiction! In conjunction with the iPhone content restriction settings with a passcode that I don’t know but gave to someone else, I fully installed Covenant Eyes on my iPad and laptop as well as my iPhone. It’s been great. The browser has a few glitches: sometimes the top and bottom bars covers over and blocks some website content. Safari doesn’t have the same issue, so maybe the dev team could take a look at that. *BUT IT’S STILL WORTH IT!*.Version: 5.4.2

Based on my experience, Covenant Eyes is effective if you have a support partner or you are part of a recovery community for accountability. It has its glitches but the load times are great and there’s no lag in trying to type and the frequent crashes disappeared. I don’t give a 5 because it’s not flawless but it’s very useable especially if you want to stay safe out there. 2 stars. The accountability works but I’ve had it with the browser. It’s been slow and clunky, taking at least 1 minute to do a simple search that should take 5 seconds. The latest patch has rendered the browser useless. The search doesn’t load now.
