✓ Good appI am happy with this app. The main feature I wanted was the ability to record from the mic on my Bluetooth headset and this app does that beautifully. The one thing I wish this app did was allow me to play music through my Bluetooth headset while I record audio from the mic on my Bluetooth headset at the same time. ✓ Saved my baconI love this app so much. I use it for choir practice. It allows me to splice and dice only the best recordings together, allowing me to toss away what doesn't sound good. I've actually made one good song out of many recordings. The bookmarks feature is invaluable, what this allows me to do is get to critical parts effortlessly. I use the repeat function to go over songs again and again in the car. The stock recording app that comes with iPod is junk by comparison..Version: 4.2.1

✓ Outstanding!I’m a very critical user who has tried many different audio programs and some are poor and some ate very good, but this one with its many features is outstanding. I really find it useful that you can easily append to the beginning of a recording, at the end of recording or even insert audio in the middle of a recording. Appending at the beginning is an excellent way to add to the beginning of recording when you get an idea later on and say well I should’ve added this first because it’s very important. ✓ They fixed the bug! This app is now perfection!I said: This is the perfect audio recording app, it does everything you could want it to do. The sound quality is excellent once you export recordings to a PC. I use it for learning long passages of information and for keeping lecture notes. This app is ideal for students and very user friendly. HOWEVER, this app has one massive bug in it which utterly ruins the whole experience. You cannot give each recording a unique name. When you try to give a recording a unique name, it just stops recording and opens up a new recording session with the default name. This may sound unimportant but it completely ruins the app, because you have to have every single recording with an identical name, or else go in and change the default name to a unique identifier every single time you wish to make a recording. It's massively annoying. I plead with the developer to sort out this bug to allow the app to be used to its full potential. Just resolving this small problem would take my review from 3 to 5 stars and I would feel confident enough in the developers to buy the 5.99 expansion pack. For the time being, the free version is less irritating to use. Now I say: hurray! With bug fixed, this app is now super brilliant and a must buy for all students..Version: 2.80

It's not always possible to see the error message right away in order to start a new recording. Some of the comments below are easily solved by in app purchases. You can share all your files by web serving them, and also compress them to AAC. The editing functions to trim clips also works reasonably well but is difficult to adjust. It also only trims the beginning and end- it doesn't seem possible to clip a segment out of the middle of an sample..Version: 3.1.4

✓ One of the best recorders out theirI've seen a lot of bad reviews on this but I've had nothing but success. I set the files so that they auto split and I'm able to keep them small enough to send via email. Also, if you loose you purchases after an upgrade, try to use the "restore" feature. It a shame that an app gets bad ratings because people might not know how in-app purchases work. I've been very happy with the quality too. No real need for a microphone. Update - love this app so much I tried to review it again and realized I already reviewed it once. Great job guys! Oh and the person that had the problem with sending through email: sending through email has a limitation not by the app but by the email. Purchase the auto split extension and split at 15 min for it to work with gmail. Don't know about other email services but gmail has 20mb limitation on attachments. Also if you buy a recorder you are going to have to connect it to the computer to get your files right? You can that with your iPhone too except iTunes sharing works over wifi and I'm sure the recorder does not. You also have the option of using auto upload to Dropbox, iCloud (which you can email links to), FTP, WebDAV. You can buy all extensions for 10 dollars. So again, why would you spend 100 dollars or more on a recorder that doesn't do all that this app does? Please do yourself a favor and don't get frustrated because of some perceived challenge. ✓ Good app with a few quirksThis is a good app. It works well and has good Help support but it does have a few quirks. It takes some time to work out that you have to make extra function purchases to do even quite simple tasks as others have highlighted. I would prefer to pay the extra few dollars and get a functioning app first up rather than waste several hours grappling with it. It would be helpful tom also have some guidelines on the different file formats and their uses. I wanted to create audio for PowerPoint but only later found which ones worked. ✓ Long time userLove this app. Most of it is reliable and well thought out. I tried the transcription, and it’s not so good, but it’s not much worse than Otter which I paid $100 for. Also better handling of fast forward, audio quality, as well as manipulating files, including exporting. When that subscription comes up for renewal, I’ll let it go and keep using AudioMemos. ✓ Impressive functionalityI used the free version for a while on my iPad as a replacement for the iPhone voice memos app (why isn't there an iPad version apple?). It worked great and the ability to send my email was really useful and why I upgraded to the full version (to send bigger recordings). Then I watched the demo video and discovered all this new functionality and wow, this is now a really powerful tool which I will use a lot. Yeah, I was a little annoyed by the in app purchase thing, it doesn't say in the video that only some functionality is available after purchase, but hey, the guy's got to make a living and having played with this now I don't begrudge the cost at all because all this new functionality is awesome! The voice triggered recording option is particularly useful as I record my meetings and the bookmarks are incredibly handy. I'm now using on my phone too as it makes the Apple voice memo app look lame. For the folk who complain about the price, come on, I spent more than this on two coffees this morning and it's a huge saving on the dedicated voice recorder I was thinking of buying but now don't need..Version: 3.1.2

Nonetheless, whether you get all or only some extensions, I find the app extremely good at what it does and useful. As a professional trader, I use it to easily make audio notes when reviewing my trades and associate the appropriate charts to the audio note as I dictate my points. Two features that would make the app a lot more useful are the ability to attach pictures directly from dropbox and / or the ability to view attached pictures natively within the application as I am playing back an audio file. ✓ A very useful applicationI purchased this application for a one-off job but I am sure it will come in handy again in the future. The job consisted in translating a biography orally and then sending it to my pc to record it on a cd. The only snag was that I had to create about 20 'chunks' each one no bigger than 14Mb. This made my job difficult in that I had to split the original story into these 20 sections and the editing was not straightforward. So, if precision editing could be simplified that would be welcome. Having said all that, I still think this is a very useful tool. The sound is very clear and recording is easy..Version: 3.0.4

✓ Very worth havingI haven't completely mastered this app yet, but my experience so far has been very positive. The recordings are of a very good quality and easy to make. There seem to be several editing and other functions, which I have yet to master to get the best out of it, but I'll get there in the end! One of the good points is that my iPad (or iPhone) can just sit unobtrusively on the table without everyone being aware that the conversation is being recorded. It is not that I am trying to make surreptitious recordings, but it helps if those speaking feel relaxed. ✓ Good AppOverall pretty darn good. (Paid version) Ipad 2 with 16 gig. IOS 6.1 Sometimes crashes, however, most likely when I ask the program to do something while it is compressing a file. In my book, not an issue. Sure would like to record in mp4 format rather than Wav format. Saves the time of compression. I send the files to my clients email and 15 Meg is about it. ✓ Good recorder but expensiveThe only recorder with an amplifier option which comes in handy when I'm farther away from the source of sound, in terms of functionality this app has everything and offers more than the simple voice memo that came with iOS. The downsides are: a) you need to purchase all these features and app ends up costing $12; b) sometimes when you change record settings, amplifier volume or selecting files to edit, the app doesn't register your new changes, I have to back out and try again and this happened a few times; c) I wish the UI is a bit more interesting.Version: 3.1.2

✓ Great function poor audio qualityI have installed 5 audio memo recorders to date in my quest for a decent quality recording that doesn't need to be uploaded via iTunes. No matter what settings I use the background noise level of this app is far greater than that of the standard voice memo app with the same ambient conditions. Apart from that the function is great. My workaround when audio quality is important is to record with the standard voice recorder and import the recording to this app for transmission and indeed editing! It would be 5 stars if it wasn't so noisy..Version: 3.0.4

Well done! =========== Tried to contact vendor to report problems but the contact link just brings up a blank page. So this (bad) review is my only option. Before the latest version I could connect my bluetooth headset to my iPhone and AudioMemos would automatically detect it and switch mic and speaker to the bluetooth headset. When the headset was turned off, AudioMemos would automatically go back to using the internal mic and speaker. Since the latest version, however, I have to MANUALLY change the "Use only internal hardware" to record/play using the iPhone hardware and then MANUALLY switch it back to use the bluetooth headset. This is really annoying and my frustration is increased by the total inability to contact the vendor directly. (I hope they're reading this!) In addition, the quality of recordings goes from excellent to fuzzy/distorted when the "Use only internal hardware" option is switched off and I can't work out why. There's no problem with my iPhones speaker or mic in ANY other app. Not at all happy and that's why the bad rating. This seems like yet another company that promises the world and happily takes your money but goes to ground when there's a problem. I want the problems fixed, the earlier version back again, or my money back..Version: 3.1.6
✓ IT'S WICKED!!This is the best audio recording app for any singer/songwriter as its an easy interface (everything can always be made simpler), with iCloud, Dropbox it makes transferring SOOOOO easy. For example if you have a recording about 30seconds it's gonna transfer in no time at all, obviously if your recording is like 18mb/4mins it's gonna take a little longer but people that is why we have patience :) IMPORTANT ADVICE!!! If you have purchased the "ALL EXTENSIONS", and you experience problems once you've updated the app. Back up your audio recordings and then click on the " i " icon and select the restore button (not reset). The restore button will restore the extensions. Keep going with the updates because this is great! :).Version: 3.1.2

✓ Pretty Darn Perfect!!!After discarding several recording apps for my Apple Watch I’ve settled on this one. All I wanted was something I could use relatively hands free to record a reminder or some random thought whilst driving or out walking. It’s recognized as a Complication and Siri brings it up easily. All I have to do is touch the big “record” button and bam! It is well worth the buck it costs and there are a bunch of extensions available if you need extras like attaching a recording to a photo etc. I don’t need any so haven’t purchased but good to have the options. I haven’t found a way for the mic icon to show on my watch face yet but Siri can find it for me. :).Version: 4.8.5
