The most accurate compass yet and with celestial tracking GPS it means setting up a GOTO system is a breeze no matter where you go in search of dark skies. You can plump for lat/long co-ords or ten digit MGRS grid system. That's accurate to one meter folks. One meter! I wish I could still get out on my Mountain Bike on Exmoor because this app would be brilliant for day trekking. I could go on but ,look, it's free. FREE! Just download it. ✓ AT corridor monitorAs a volunteer corridor monitor on the AT, I have to find survey monuments in a variety of terrain. In some cases, there are no clues other than the GPS coordinates. I recently had an opportunity to compared the iPhone compass app GPS coordinates to the Pro Compass coordinates, while searching for a “missing” monument. The Pro compass coordinates brought me the exact spot of the “missing” monument while the IPhone compass coordinates did not. Needless to say the monument is no longer missing...Version: 3.9.15

✓ Nice app but suggest a few improvementsI like this app and use it a lot when I'm out cycling and geocaching. A couple of things that I think could be improved....... The three buttons in the bottom right hand corner would be better if they were spaced out more, especially important on iPhone. It is difficult to enter lat and long coordinates. If the degrees symbol is accidentally deleted, you have to go out of that screen and start again. Would be much better if the numbers were made bigger and if the degrees symbol was made fixed and not deletable..Version: 3.7

✓ Great FeaturesI occasionally use this app, but love it when I do. There are times it’s nice to know an elevation. I’m told that Toyotas are notorious for slow readings on speedometers. My Camry’s does, and I find it’s not off by a percentage or set amount. It varies in different ranges. And there’s a difference between my summer and winter tires, so it’s good to be able to confirm actual ground speed in heavily patrolled or photo radar speed zones. Only thing I’d change is the white characters on green terrain are hard to read. Maybe black or dark blue would be better..Version: 3.9.9

✓ A compass not to be left behindThis compass gives you a look at the real world, not a map image. Some things look very different on a map then they do on the ground. I can use my army protractor with out having to convert mils to degrees. The only place I find it weak is in shooting a barring, I don’t know what fix you can do. My fix is to use a string on the compass & then use that figure to shoot that barring with a real compass, you now know what course to take. Since I can see objects then find them on the map, it’s now the only compass I use, but it adds an other dimension to ground navigation. Bill Sandford.Version: 3.9.9

Whenever the truck comes to a stop the whole display shifts ninety degrees counter clockwise. If I am heading north then it reads west. As soon as I begin moving it goes back to reading accurately. But the needle in this App moves very fluidly and I've had no problem so far. Am giving it 4/5 because the location is more of a hit and miss. Even when you set it to the correct map location, close the app and reload it, and it will give you the country where you registered your iPad, not the country where you are or the place you manually set it to.
