✓ Can’t cancelI hate this app and I still don’t understand how on earth they are No1???!!! Firstly it’s not free, you cannot even see messages, you have to pay. Secondly, I wanted to cancel or delete the account. Well, when you go to the account settings it’s only gives you an option to pause the account. Nothing else. Although on their FAQ it states that from account settings select account status, then select edit and select deactivate. Guess what, there isn’t an option to deactivate the account, only to pause. I hate when i am told lies!!!! If only I could upload some screen shots to proof. Sham on you, Zoosk. I think GDPR doesn’t bother you at all. ✓ Messages disappear and pre set messages get sent.Just wondering why my messages send then disappear for the recipient. I’ve paid for the service and I should be able to send a message easily. I’ve made good connections that get angry because they feel they’re being ghosted and have ended conversations. I’ve just encountered the same situation with a female who’s messages to me are not sending. Also, there are messages that get created and sent that are not directed from myself. Today for some reason I can’t login I never log out but this morning I got a message from somebody tried to open app but I can’t login and it will not send me a password reset on a paid subscription. ✓ Waste of time effort and money.This site appears to be full of fake profiles. When you send messages, there are no acknowledgements, you are invited to pay extra for every quirk including to find out if your message has been read. I've been getting messages from total mingers who look like they have been in a train crash and whom I have never viewed. They are all also outside the search perimeters that have supposedly been saved. Then when you delete, they keep coming back. Rubbish. ✓ Don’t bother! Skip this site!I honestly wish I could give zero stars because of how awful this site is. I initially didn’t pay for anything and wanted to see how it worked. Didn’t like how I couldn’t do much. So I paid for one month. Still hate it. I can do a little more but not much. Don’t get me started on the quality of picks. No way to delete profile in app (but you can register..) ✓ Disappointed AgainAfter making my Zoosk profile inactive so I could go incognito for a little after paying for a good amount of coins & despite previously upgrading for 6 month’s membership and doing an upgrade to premium for 6 months I haven’t been able to reset my password, access Zoosk and make my profile active again. I am not receiving reset password messages to the email that I used to use to sign in that I was meant to receive. If I can’t reset my password and access Zoosk again to make my profile active by early next week I will have to organise a refund through my bank..Version: 8.21.5
✓ Overpriced, no access to all featuresYou pay an exorbitant amount of money for a full subscription thinking you will have access to all services, I subscribed for 6 months, NZ$100+. And yet, free members can't message you more than once, oh, and if you wink at someone, the system automatically sends you a dummy message, like "I'm interested on your profile, tell me more!!" Or something like that, because you're winking it thinks you're not a member, how dumb... ✓ It is a bit of a con you know ...Have to honest about this, I've been on zoosk for a while, and they do con you - if I cancel my sub, then it's like I've got ten messages, so I subscribe again and suddenly I've only got two messages ... strange, huh? Second, the sub is a bit of a con, I did mine for one month and got charged for six months -- try and contact zoosk to talk about that, and you're up against it. ✓ JokeIt’s pretty much a joke. You only see people that aren’t even online or have been for a long time. The so called beautiful women you see never respond and I’m not a bad looking guy just so you know. They don’t respond because out of a 100 profiles you might find 1 that is actually on and exists. ✓ AwfulThis has to be the worst dating app I’ve ever experienced. Despite me setting filters stating that I wish to meet a non-smoker someone within a 50k radius of my home. ✓ Quality of men is subparThe quality of men on this site is woeful. I think they all choose Zoosk because you can’t immediately swipe left and never see their mugs again. It is revolting. The app glitches and you can’t send messages to the 1 decent dude on it. Also if you subscribe via apple subscriptions the payment is not recognised so you are paying for a scan in my opinion. ✓ Awful site to meet people!The app works most of the time and this is why it’s gotten two stars from me. However, it is complicated to use and pretty much worthless as you need to subscribe to an expensive subscription to really use the site and meet people. Otherwise, it’s just a picture show where you can’t message anyone. Most of the profiles on the site appear to be fake or may even be bots. Lots of scammers too attempting to get you offsite to get your personal info and try romance scans to get your money. The customer service is worthless as all they will do is defend their site and provide no real support. Why should they? All this just means they make their money by providing pretty much a worthless site with lots of fake profiles which they aren’t willing to clean up. ✓ What a wasteWell. I signed up a week ago and paid my money. Since them I’ve spent hours messaging asking for help because I was unable to send any messages. I followed the what seem to be AI generated instructions from Zoosk each time, and surprise surprise, nothing worked. In the end, in frustration and with a misunderstanding, my account was deleted. But my money kept. After advice from Zoosk to start a new profile- I guess their AI couldn’t undelete…… I did and was told my subscription would be transferred to my new profile. ✓ This app is appalling!I didn't have anything to lose so thought I'd sign up to this online dating app. Well I feel like I lost! Just seems like an algorithm is running in the background to find the most elaborate way to make you give away your hard earned. Starts with you getting views, lots of views, from profiles with a single photo and the bare minimum info. Your Interest is piqued. You sign up so you can message people. Get no replies. Views slowly drop off. You get encouraged to send gifts (at a price) and to see if anyone you messaged has read it (at a price). You get multiple views from the same person so message them. They actually message back and tell you they had been deleting you from their viewed you list. Delete in Zoosk = another view notification for the person being deleted. End result is now have no trust in this app whatsoever. The carousel is pointless. Nobody is going to like someone on a thumb nail photograph alone..Version: 8.12.1

✓ Could be a 4 - Updated Could be a 3Decent dating app, but could always be better. I’ve been on for just over a week - plenty of positives including a neat feature called Carousel. In it, you cycle through at least 40 (in this case) women, and at the end the app recommends the one you most likely will vibe with. I On the other hand, I’d like a permanent block button as the system tends to recycle the same people over and over again, even after you’ve dismissed them. And setting up filters for age, distance, ethnicity, etc. don’t seem to matter as everyone, regardless of the filter continues to be represented. I’d imagine these are easy enough fixes. Update: Now that I’ve been on it a little while, I see some bigger flaws. The Carousel feature appears to recycle previous members, and mix them in with current members. I say “appears” because I’ve never seen any evidence of several members outside of carousel. Also, there is a huge need to block, or bypass people that are previously dismissed as they constantly reappear, even after they’re dismissed. ✓ One of the better dating appsI’ve tried 6 dating apps and Zoosk was one of the better ones. The blocking feature works on this app and it doesn’t on others. I like that you can be as lengthy as you want in your profile. There seem to be more scammers on this app. But it does have some drawbacks. I don’t like the smartpick notifications. I don’t like that every time you scroll past a profile that person gets a notification that you viewed them. I don’t like that when you get a notification that someone wants to meet you, you have to answer if you want to meet them before you can view their profile. And I don’t like that new messages don’t show up automatically without going out of your message box with the person and then going back in. Also, before the update I did today, I was able to limit my search by smoking, body type, and other attributes. But now I can only limit by age. So I downgraded my star rating from 4 to 3..Version: 8.48.0
✓ Unpleasant experience and an App for ever locking outThe App keeps locking out. On average it’s about 3 times per week which requires a phone re-boot on each occasion. When it is working it forces certain responses (a bit like a rigged survey where the author only gets to hear what they want). Even after paying to join there are additional incentives which cost money to get additional features that just shouldn’t be additional. Overall left much feeling this is more about money making Ghanaian a real opportunity to introduce you to someone who might be compatible. ✓ Poorly designed, expensive but users are genuine.It constantly shows people in searches that you have already liked, no way to remove ones you don’t like so you always see the same profiles. It’s very annoying. Photos are displayed zoomed so you often miss seeing what the user intended. Clunky interface, annoying notifications. This app has been developed on the cheap and needs a massive polish. Users are genuine however you will find the same elsewhere. It is also expensive compared to others, I won’t be renewing my subscription. Not recommended and I’ve been using it (as I paid for it) for a few months. ✓ Pas pour Québec!Je peux simplement parler de ce que je connais... Pour les gens de la Ville de Québec et environ, l’application Zoosk est une totale perte de temps et d’argent... Ce que je trouvais bien est que contrairement à Tinder, en étant membre, il est possible de contacter directement les gens qui nous intéressent. Le problème est qu’il ne semble pas y avoir personne d’actif à l’autre bout. Zoosk a la réputation d’utiliser des « profiles fantômes » et pour Québec, c’est malheureusement flagrant... Il y a plein de photos de beaux profiles, mais les retours se font attendre... J’ai pris un abonnement de 3 mois et ai décidé de fermer mon compte après 10 jours. J’ai envoyé plus de 120 messages et ai reçu une seule réponse, d’une fille de Montréal... Le taux de retour ne fait aucun sens (je suis équilibré, quand même selon moi dans la moyenne avec une vraie vie sociale) puisque tous mes messages étaient positifs et respectueux. So I subscribed for a month and messaged quite a few people (including the one who messaged me). I received no replies from anyone so I cancelled my subscription just prior to it expiring. Funnily enough as soon as it expired I received two messages but the catch was I had to subscribe again to read them. Funny I was able to read the first reply message as a free member at the start. Why can’t you just show names/photos/ interests to all those who fit your age, location and brief description? I lost $7k to another site to an internet love scammer. ✓ Gone to the dogsUnfortunately the app has gone from being so so to pitiful. You can no longer fill in the full profile details as you once could. You can’t fill in your preferred social behaviour like before. What you can fill in is displayed in a way you can’t understand what the person has selected for a given response. Meaning you cant see if they are drinkers smokers ect. Not having full features and proper profiles to be displayed or read has made this experience beyond hard and it had been such a proven method for us users. The people displayed in the search and carousel feature are not at all in line with the preferences I’ve chosen. Not even close in fact. You see the same people over and over and then theres all the fake views or fake messages designed to get subscriptions. You people are just money grabbing and having no interest in what we as users are actually asking for from the site. ✓ Poor designThis app feels likes it’s designed for people who want to harass you.. they can see when you are online, see when you’ve checked their profile and message you without you liking them first - and “unconnecting” someone does nothing as they can just keep messaging you. You can’t seem to go incognito - so as soon as I go online I have heaps of people Messaging me “why aren’t you talking to me?” Instead of focusing on people I want to connect with in inundated with fodder… I’d like to focus on quality connections but just feel harassed by people who can see I’m online. It should be who I feel I want to connect with, not who messages me non stop to get my attention. Plus anyone who pays for a premium connection just sits at the top of your inbox you cannot even delete them. You should be able to block anyone your not interested in but you can’t. ✓ Zoosk the cunning rip offI have tried in vain, many times to get help from Zoosk but there is no way to communicate with them - to ask them questions (so I can improve my use of their system). But they are very cunning and very hungry for money. I don’t mind paying them if I get what I need but they do not give me (or anyone) the opportunity to contact them. This tells you that they are NOT good at all. I have been blocked by their advertising rather than let me go - to the site - that I have clicked on. And this happens repetitively. All I want - is to be shown how to alter my profile. But they don’t even provide us clients with a CONTACT button - I think that really says it all. ✓ Scammers - not just the profilesWe all know that every dating site is fighting a battle to only have genuine profiles - Zoosk is losing this battle. Only a daily basis I get 5-10 “carousel matches”. Go to look at the profile and it no longer exists. The app is riddled with fake profiles. But the scamming doesn’t stop there. Cancel your subscription and all of a sudden you’ve got messages and matches, but you can’t see them without paying. I’ve seen date stamped pictures from over ten years ago on accounts that are clearly inactive. So you’re paying a monetary monthly fee to look at pictures. The carousel feature just sends you pictures where you have to make a split decision of yes no or maybe based on someone’s looks. You get a whopping zip as to interests or intellectual acumen. And, you cannot ignore the person and move onto the next. There is no way to search for someone based on their zoosk name. Equally awful is the encouragement of sending a heart or smile emoji. How on earth is that a message? Are we 12 years old? I’ve met a few people on the site who told me they figured out emojis or a short message were not sent by them but receive other people. The only good thing I can say about the app is that if you’re busy, it’s at least sticking your toe in the water to start going out on a few dates. ✓ Corrupt Dating SiteI would say that this is the most corrupt dating platform I’ve ever been on. My experience has been that I got many women looking at my profile page, with almost none responding to my messages to them. If you’re interested in someone’s profile, why wouldn’t you message them back at some point? Also, as many have mentioned, probably 75% of these profiles are not active. This means there is little chance of finding someone to date because very few members are actually online. Also, when your subscription to Zoosk is running out, you will suddenly start to receive messages out of the blue. These messages are always women who are scammers looking to catfish you. Finally, you will get stupid messages saying that someone wants to meet you. When I messaged these women, I got exactly zero responses from them. The main reason I say that Zoosk is corrupt is because they are making up that people are visiting your profile and they seem to have a number of scammers that message you at very good times for Zoosk, like when your subscription is running out. Finally, the women on Zoosk look much better than any other women on any other dating site I have been on. ✓ Very poor App since revisionSince the App was revised recently, it is absolutely hopeless. Both on the iPhone and iPad, they do not work well. The screens freeze frequently and I am unable to reply or message. I cannot se my own profile statement on either app atm and have had to use the Zoosk website to modify my profile message. The search function on the iPad now gives a whole of screen picture in which it is impossible to see detail of the member. This is significantly different to the presentation that the apps used to provide. I was mistaken. I’m convinced that meeting people the old fashioned way is far cheaper and less frustrating. The app is not “user friendly.” You can message people after paying for message package and the app doesn’t allow you to see the messages of all members whether they have a paid membership or are on a free trial. The app uses internal data to prevent you from making contact with an intended. They dangle a carrot in front of you then they want you to pay for tokens, message packages and Zoosk emojis to “try” to get in touch with someone’s profile. I’ll allow my current membership to expire and my message package and will not be using this app again. In comparison to other dating apps this is the only one that I have found that doesn’t show a profile on your face and make you have to make a mediate decision as to whether or not you swipe left or right. I closed a business 2 years ago, but I found out, just Friday, that GoDaddy didn’t pull down my business’s page, which contained several e-mail addresses I used in the course of conducting the business. I’ve been a Zoosk member for a few months, a paid user who enjoyed meeting lots of people. I got an error message Thursday when I tried to log in, over and over. Called Support. They told me I was banned from Zoosk. Now, I’ve never violated their rules, so it was a surprise to be banned. I asked why. All she would say was e-mail legal services. Now, I’m intrigued. So I investigate. Legal says I “had two accounts,” a huge no-no in there book. I say, “no I don’t.” They send me the e-mail address on the 2nd account. It seems someone took the e-mail from my old business account and opened an account. I tell them it’s not me, that I didn’t do it and don’t even have a password to the other account. They won’t even listen to the facts, just say “you’re permanently banned.” They were real jerks. I’d recommend anyone using their service switch to another service. ✓ Ghost Notifications and Worst Login processReceived notifications from the app that I had a message from ~someone~, but no new messages were there. Tried seeing if it was a problem with the app, and hopped on the full site on my computer, but couldn’t get logged in there. So reset my password on computer and had my browser save it (and I can view it in my browser’s saved passwords - I 100% KNOW what my password is), and now I can’t get the app to recognize the password. Beyond frustrated with this app. Oh, and the person I’m hoping to hear from, had initially sent me what sounds like a canned message (possibly from Zoosk). I joined explicitly because I got notification that I had a message from that woman, only to open it to find the canned response…so I sent her a real message and I know she viewed my profile, but I never heard from her (I don’t send lewd or inappropriate messages). A few days later, I tried again and saw notice that she had again viewed my profile, but still no response. I’m not sure if she’s a paying member and can even send response without paying herself. ✓ Hope you enjoy long distanceOverall the layout and user interface of the Zoosk app is pretty good, but it’s like the app won’t let me find anyone local. My community is approximately 100,000 people so not huge. It shows me only two local women. All others are a minimum of 1 to 2 hours drive away. If I create a search with a short radius it will show singles for that first search attempt only. Then it reverts back to 60 to 150 miles away even though the search filter hasn’t been changed. If I recreate the search it finds locals again but then reverts back to the profiles it wants me to look at vs what I am interested in. I’ve seen views come in from some of the local profiles then they are auto-deleted before I can even view them. Literally right before my eyes! I left a search profile completely open including age. Just had a 30 mile radius. Of course there were older ladies mixed in with the profiles. That’s fine, I didn’t filter them out. Suddenly I was getting views and messages from 75 year old ladies when I never viewed their profiles. Just scrolled past them. Zoosk is a joke overall. ✓ Access Denied!I was enjoying using Zoosk, made quite afew connections though hadn’t actually met up with anyone yet. I paid for a month , then suddenly after 10 days when I went to pick up messages etc it said I had to answer questions to confirm my identity. I clicked on continue and no questions appeared, just access denied. I tried loads of times and just got access denied each time. Same the next day . I found the 2 phone numbers to call and tried all different times of the day. All I got was this number is temporarily unavailable. I found the link to customer support- guess what happened when I clicked on it - access denied! So it seems they are impossible to contact directly to sort anything out and I gave up , which is a shame as I’ve lost all the contacts that I made . It’s quite another to insist the recipient ALSO pay for their membership (just to receive it). They have the most ads I’ve seen AND still do not allow chatting like the better sites (Hinge, OK Cupid, Bumble; who have less ads). (They have fixed a bug where it didn’t show about yourself in your profile) I have been checking for updates on the app and install them as soon as they are out there, unfortunately all that is said is they will do updates every two weeks. No information on what the update is for Contact with the help desk is a laugh. Yes, they do get back to you. But they don’t read your question and 90%of the time the solution is reinstalling the app (doesn’t rectify) or using the webpage (clunky on a small phone screen). But what makes it even worse, is that the fake accounts are made by the developers themselves in order to make you believe that you are getting all this interest. Don’t believe me? Create an account, verify your identity and then try an cancel your paid subscription or trial of a paid subscription and then see how many likes you get from users with an unverified identity and then IF they respond to you after you’ve replied, they suddenly will disappear once you have paid for a subscription. I don’t think this is something unique to this dating app, I’m pretty sure they all have their own version of this scam and it’s definitely possible to connect with a real person, but just know what you’re getting yourself into upfront so that you don’t fall victim to their scams. Rather a shallow basis for a relationship. You also can’t save the person anywhere. The app sends you emails that someone wants to meet you with a picture (assuredly of that person). When you click on it it takes you to a different person or to the shallow Carousel. ✓ Coincidence?This site has gone downhill from when I first gave it a go many years ago. The app is glitchy, sometimes it freezes and you are unable to send messages. You can’t change the age range in the carousel and the search filters just seem to show the same people over and over again. A lot of the views are fake as I continuously get messages asking if I have viewed their profile when I’ve never seen their profile before. I get men messaging me well over the age range I have set, when they shouldn’t be able to view me at all. Considering it’s a paid site and quite expensive for what you get, they certainly need to upgrade their features to give the user more control. ✓ Buyer bewareI had an account with Zoosk then Zoosk deleted my account without any prior discussion with me . I lost all my data from the site and was told it’s irretrievable. I asked for and was told apple are the only ones to ask for a refund . Apple however did not delete my account . The account was deleted by Zoosk for their own gains . ✓ A few genuine profiles but have to pay extraThere are a few genuine profiles but an off a lot of dead profiles. Maybe one or two out of every 10 are live profiles. The rest are long dead, Some of them I know for sure are 5 or 8 years out of date because the description says “I am 50” but the age on the description which is automatically generated from your birthday says 55 Also you have to pay extra to send messages. And all sorts of other extra switch you assume should be included in a dating app do you have to pay extra for It all feels a little bit scammy. ✓ Never againSo, after using an app like this for the first time here’s what I’ve learned. It’s all an illusion and scam to make money. Some of these people are paid to message you and some of them apparently are automated messages. If they’re not being paid then hats off. Immediately after I deleted the account, I get a an email talking about someone that wants to have a good time. Nothing is to the point. Also, I don’t understand how the people who pay for these services and are popular don’t feel like garbage humans. You’re asked to like 40 different people who may or may not have anything in common with your or each other. In the real world, opposites attract and there could be one thing they have in common which sets things off. The beauty about a real world situation is that you figure that out on your own, rather than knowing it first hand. It then becomes a game for you to get in someone’s pants and possibly ruin their life. Honestly, I think these apps should be illegal. I don’t care what good could or did come from these apps. ✓ Just give the people what they want!Don’t like the “game” playing of the carousel- how do I know if I like someone when I can’t refer to their profile? Then if you like various people and put yes/maybe - zoosk chooses the final one and you either accept or reject...then have to start all over again!!! Really don’t have time for these games... very busy and just want it to be clear cut, give me people ONLY within the radius I ask for, and if I delete them I don’t want them to surface again!! ✓ Some some comments on the reality...Be warned, this seems to be solely about the app owners making as much money as possible. Things to be aware of before you start: 1. You have to pay $ to see messages, or 2. You have to pay $ to ensure others can see and respond to your messages (I have no evidence to show that this is actually true) 3. The VAST MAJORITY of profiles seem to be ghost profiles 4. Lots of ‘someone sent you a message’ alerts happen before putting up any $ just to find out what the heck those messages are 5. Once put up money, fancy that, they’re mostly ghost profiles or there’s no response to my replies 6. Yes, there are active profiles, though after 10 months of active use, I realised that almost all of my messages were to dormant/ghost/non-responsive profiles (as in the response was silence/nothing) and as such that this platform wasn’t a good use of my time and $, so I cancelled 7.
