✓ Dear devs…You’ve erased ALL of my old swings and analysis without giving me an option to opt out of the update or provide a way to save them. The new user interface is pretty but, functionality useless. This update wasn’t ready for beta testing. Much more, releasing it to the App Store. It’s buggier than my 1st NY apartment. Now, I’ve been using a version of this app for years and have always found it to be a powerful tool. And, I don’t mind paying for it. If it works and priced reasonably price… I’m in! But, this latest “update” could have been executed better by my 6yr old. Literally! (I have a pretty smart kid) Nothing works! Analysis tool panel is tedious and clunky to use. Drawings just disappear! You have to restart that app to get them to work again. Seemingly no way to save analysis! You have to start over from scratch EVERY TIME!!! No way to adjust playback speed! You have to scrub the timeline bar to see the swing in slow motion. AND YOU ERASED ALL OF MY OLD SWINGS!!! I really don’t think I’ve been this disappointed with an “update” in my life..Version: 3.0.14

✓ Poor appBeen using V1 for a while now. Its best feature is its slow motion playback and the ability to skip through your swing very slowly, everywhere else the app fails to impress. Drawing is a right game, angles are next to impossible to get right etc. Doesn't support an uploaded screen capture on ipad, apparently it doesn't support that resolution. ✓ Don’t waste your moneyBought this app in 2013 and it was fantastic. They recently send out an update that ruined it. Who makes an update that makes the app 20 times worse. Not only that they are now moving to a subscription service for ridiculous money a year with an app that doesn’t even do the basic functions it did before. Customer service is terrible they get back to you in about 2 weeks. Once again they took away the features I already paid for in 2013 and we’re like tuff here’s a 20% discount on a year subscription. ✓ Poor customer support, can’t share videos with my proI’ve been using V1 for close to 8 years now and this app for over a year. This app is worthless compared to the PC version, V1 really needs to go back to the drawing board on this one. It won’t let me share videos with my pro (one of the main reasons for using it) the drawing tools are useless because trying to draw a straight line with your finger accurately is impossible even on iPad. Even using the straight line tool is still impossible to get an accurate line positioned correctly. The customer support is ridiculous, your only option is through a messenger service which they don’t reply to in a timely manner, it took 4 days for the first reply! Then they asked a simple question that I’d already given the answer to in my initial request. Now haven’t heard back in 2 days! I’m paying for the subscription and paying my pro a lot of money without being able to share video... Total junk!.Version: 2.3.83
✓ Poor Quality VideoI have been using this app to assist with my Golf Coaching over the past few weeks, it certainly has potential but........and this is a big but, the video quality is second rate. I have even uploaded my own footage using a HD camera (to ensure it wasn't my iPad 2 camera) and the V1 app somehow reduces the video quality to the point where it is almost unusable as a Golf Coach. This is extremely disappointing as I have used V1 products before on my laptop and they have always been reliable. I'm sure this is a problem that can be solved with a software update but it needs to come sooner rather than later. Oh and ignore those who say it's difficult to use, it isn't if you read about how to use it Come on V1 there is such potential here.Version: 1.00.18

✓ Recent update terribleI loved this app before they did the update. The older version was so much easier and quicker to use during lessons and also when recording my own swing. The worst part about the update was the old app would record swings on iPhone version in 120fps and the new update only records in 60fps. It’s 2022 shouldn’t we be moving forward in the camera and trying to get where you can record in more fps considering how fast a golf swing is and how much changes frame to frame why would you get rid of 120fps?! That alone has made me search for new apps. Luckily I turned off auto update in time on my iPad and am still using the old version where I can record my lessons and my own swing in 120fps. You also can’t save a video from the app to your photos anymore, why? I have to screen record the video and then go to my photos and edit. I have many more complaints about the update but I have already ranted for too long. Again I loved the older version of this app and would do anything to have it back..Version: 3.2.8

✓ No steps forward, seven steps back. At least.They did A next level downgrade with this new V1 app. 1. 30 second record time versus 60 seconds with the old version. This only allows for two maybe three swings per video. That’s not enough. 2.Zooming of the camera to record has been disabled. I like to zoom in on certain things I’m working on, but now I have to take a video without zoom, then zoom in after the fact. That makes the video grainy. 3. camera in general does not work as well. Mid filming the video can get blurry. This never happened with the old app or with any other app I use with this phone. 4. The countdown beeps no longer seem to work. I’ve tried it on multiple phones and none of my iPhones will do the countdown beep. 5. When capturing video in landscape mode the 30 second timer is in the upper middle of the screen. when viewing the video, I have to drag my head out of the way because the timer is right on my face. 6. Old app had 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 slow-mo, this one you have to tap the arrow to get anywhere close to the level of slow motion the old app had. 7. The slide bar is a huge downgrade from the previous app. I wonder how many of the above issues are resolved behind the bay wall?.Version: 3.1.0

✓ Making progress after the poor updateLike many, I’m a huge fan of the app before recent update. It does appear they’re working on it to make improvements. I filmed my swing today and was pleased to find it worked well, not clunky or choppy. Hopefully the whole app will eventually be back on par or even better than the prior version. The current interface workflow makes no sense to me. For example, in the “analyze” area, you have to tap a “tools” icon EVERY time you need a tool (for example trimming videos or drawing lines and shapes on swings) instead of having all tools easily accessible like before the update. When clicking the video thumbnails, one is presented with beautiful hi res swing videos of tour players along with a speed control - which is great, but when analyzing your own swings and comparing it to the tour models, the models there are lo res and there is no speed control. It seems to me that the analyze area and hi res video gallery should be combined into one, since for many of us, the main purpose of the app is the ability to film our swings and then compare those swings to high quality tour swing examples..Version: 3.1.8

✓ FPS too slow to see a good look at the clubI too was very disappointed with the new app. The two biggest issues for me is the inability to get the 240 FPS the app used to offer. The FPS is too slow to see the position of the clubhead and where on the face your impact occurs. The second issue I have with the new app is the length of time you get to record a swing. 30 seconds allows you to take one swing and really no practice swings. The other issue is you cannot export a video to your camera roll. Not a good thing either. I did cancel my subscription and I am thinking of a new way to go. Really until V1 changes the problems with the app, I cannot see paying for it..Version: 3.1.8
✓ Updated- Very buggy softwareUpdated- Ok. The iPad version seems more buggy than the iPhone. It works. Does what it says and other than the odd crash, iPhone version is stable. What would make me give it 5 stars? If the app was able to auto record swings or at least be able to press record from a Apple Watch (like you do with apple photos already) it would make this very very useful on the range. I’d use it every session. I’d give it 7 stars if it would WIFI sync with another device that auto plays your swing. So each time you hit, you get a slow motion review. I see this when having lessons with TrackMan and its an awesome capability. ——- Maybe this is good. I’ve used it before and it was ok. Was trying to go back to it to see if it had an auto record feature while I’m swinging....the import process makes using apps like this a pain while on the range. I was hoping someone had figured it out...I don’t know as the software on the iPad can’t even render the keyboard correctly and mixes portrait with landscape while cutting off parts of the keyboard. ✓ V1 reviewAs a golf coach - The original product was was way more user friendly. We could down load our swings and have access to our files. Since updating I no longer have access to my own video files and content. I’m very disappointed, after asking costumer service for my files back all they did was try to upswell me to a bigger package not listen to my needs and discount what the original product was. After 6 months of asking for my files, they are yet to enable me to download them off the app and other people.. ✓ Latest updateThe latest update is an improvement on the terrible previous update, but not all the problems have been rectified from the last update. My own models have thankfully returned, but are mixed in with all my students videos. I created a folder for “my models” but it doesn’t show in the folder list. Emailing Screenshots only shows 1 side of a comparison screenshot. It’s been months since the last update rendered the App useless, over this time I’ve used a competitors App and am now used to it and it performs better than V1. ✓ Took a great app and made it terrible.I am a longtime user of this app. This past weekend I made the mistake of “upgrading” to the latest release. They have taken away basic features like being able to set the recording time on your phone. Now the maximum recording time is 30 seconds. So if you’re at the range, you can film one swing at a time and then have to start the video again for the next swing. The old version you could set recording time up to 4-5 minutes so you could take a bunch of swings without having to restart your phone’s camera. That allowed you to see if you were being consistent with the swing fixes you’re working on. Also, now to use the analyzer tool you have to click a tools icon, which pops open a window with the tools, then you have to select the tools. The old app the tools were at the top of the playback screen. These two changes, especially limiting recording time to 30 seconds, makes the app unusable..Version: 3.0.9

✓ Buggy as heck!!I took a golf lesson at the pga superstore and got an email that I can view my videos on V1golf app. So I was excited and downloaded the app. Tried to creat an account from the iPhone but the password confirmation never worked. ✓ V1 reviewV1 is a cracking app I am a PGA pro and use it on an I pad and it's great. My only criticism is that there are not enough face on iron swings and no chipping and short pitching swings but that's all. My main gripe is that it manages to dumb down the video quality from my camera, something that does not happen on my laptop. You must sort this v1 as it stops pros using it full time for coaching and for those of us that need to be mobile this app on I pad is the answer. ✓ Negative star!!The recent new updates or as I refer to it as make it worse updates. This is a major step back from previous version, you now have to select the analysis feature every time with multiple selections. Plus it doesn’t even remember your last selection so every new video you have to repeat. The compare option is unusable, you try to sync the swings but when you look at the compare video it uses the time of the last video as the starting point and not the time you left it at. ✓ New version 4.1 is terribleUnfortunatly, the new version is terrible. I was a addicted customer of the app. Since the new version, I can’t us it. First, you can record the swing but when you try to move the curser to see you swing in certain position, it is so slow, that you can not move the curser. You could see your movement in slow Motion, but not anymore. If you try to trim your swing, again the slowlyness of the app makes it impossible to sélect the proper position. When you use to record a swing, instantly you could see and analyse it. Now it is saved, but you need to click on it to see it. This new version seems to have been done by IT guy that doesn’t play golf or use the app in the passed. I now use my traditional phone camera since the app is so bad. Hope someone will correct these terrible function. Septembre 9, 2022: I just received a message from the developer that a new version that should adress these issue will be available in 2 weeks. ✓ ***Shame On V1 Sports***One of the most unethical companies I’ve ever dealt! When you sign up for the app they make you agree to auto billing for the next years’ subscription. I contacted these dirt bags the day after billing my credit card and refused to refund the entire amount of $60. “Don” claimed they could only refund $24, citing I had agree to this a year ago when signing up. No email or formal notification before doing their billing. You can’t speak to anyone in person either, just email back and forth for customer service. I filed a complaint with the Michigan Attorney General’s office and would encourage you to do the same if you’ve been a victim of their unethical business practices. ✓ Good, not yet great!I totally agree with the other reviewer, this has the potential to blow the other apps in this category out of the water! My main gripe is that it doesn't appear that you can trim a video that is recorded in the app which means if you are opperating it yourself you end up with very long videos. A possible solution is to record them with the iPhone camera, trim, then import, but when I do this it rotates the video and only half of my body is then visible. These minor fixes and it would be great! I would urge anybody to buy it, but you may want to wait until further updates have been released to address these problems..Version: 0

As soon as I realised what had happened I cancelled (within minutes) but the funds had already been removed from my account. I wrote to A1 and they responded telling me that I didn’t cancel in time (I thought a matter of minutes would suffice) - I had to report the problem to Apple who will hopefully enforce the refund. ✓ An “update” REMOVES prior paid-for featuresI’m a long-time V1 user, going back to the days of V1 software on a computer and VHS/laptop analysis workflows. The original iOS v1 app came out in ~2017. For less than $10 you could capture your swing and annotate with analysis (lines, circles, etc.). Great value and great app. In v2, the app got better. You could pay for cloud storage and other features, but basic functions remained the same. Now, with v3, core functionality has been REMOVED. Drawing lines on a swing video is a “pay $60/yr feature.” Seriously, what gives? Worst of all, users **were not advised they were losing functionality** Here are the v3 release notes: “Meet the new V1 Golf+ app with a new, modern interface with improved workflows. We’ve updated & refined both our features & user interface to make it easier than ever to improve your golf swing & skills.” Utterly dishonest and greedy. ✓ Value depends on expectationThe reality is there is and isn’t a lot of alternatives when it comes to free or inexpensive programs like this. The best are a lot more expensive and often require a PC not a phone or tablet. This app is great intentions but often has glitches. They recently did a big overhaul and added/deleted features. Syncing with other devices through the cloud is great when it works. Having access to the swing models (if you choose to pay) is great but I also had initial trouble gaining access after paying for the subscription. Overall it’s really good if you want something simple, and average if you want something more beefed up with options that seamlessly work. ✓ Outdated Model Swing LibraryOne of the things app promises is model swings for comparison. However, the app's library of model pro swings is very old. It also has many swings of hardly known players. Yes, there can be some timeless classics, and any good swing could be used to demonstrate fundamentals. However, the app promises a library of current winners and top players, which it does not deliver on. Very few current top players full swings. So, without a current model pro swing library, you're left with some basic golf swing analysis tools, for which there are numerous completely free alternatives..Version: 3.10.3
✓ New Version (Still) Not GoodThe new version has been glitchy, slow, and overall a cumbersome app. The editing and drawing functions not being on the screen is clunky and inefficient. There has been loss of functionality in no longer being able to email videos out to people as well. Overall, I am very disappointed in the new app and would gladly return to the old version if I could. 3.2.1 just came out. No improvement in what I mentioned above. As additional failure, the compare feature has a ‘sync’ that does not work because the model swings do not match up with the recorded swings in frame rate/duration. For example, Tony Finau’s model swing video is 16seconds long. For a swing that took less than 2 seconds in real time. This doesn’t sync swings at all for compare and is basically a useless feature unless comparing identical frame rate swings. Also, in landscape view on an iPhone, the controls are too close to the bottom edge of the screen which causes accidentally swiping away from the app when trying to scrub. This new version requires a lot more beta testing by actual users before it is released! Bring the old version 2.x back until this one is up to scratch, PLEASE!.Version: 3.2.1

✓ Clips too blurryYou can hardly see your club and hand in downswing particularly around the time of impact so there’s not fun nor much use. It’s only good for checking your head, hip and body. But then if you want to check those things at impact then you have to guess when your impact is—it’s that bad. Phone camera has improved but not this app! Also it does not seem to allow for export/share. You cannot save annotations. And while you are on session with camera the app just lets the phone dim then locks off! Nice things are you can put a clip of Korda or McIlroy side by side with your clip for comparison..Version: 3.5.0
✓ Golf App FailureI subscribed to V1 to be able to use the Editing Tools. Sadly, the Box and Circle tools will only let me draw freehand lines, which I was able to do with a FREE account. And there’s no way to label which club you are hitting as depicted in their You Tube instructional videos. Next time, I’ll pay for a similar app rather than give the people behind this junk any more money. Worst of all is the video playback is blurry and can’t be slowed down enough to see which way my club face is pointing during the swing. The free version of this app worked better than the current paid version. So sorry I am subscribed to this mess..Version: 3.4.4
✓ Unusable and incompleteI have tried the new V1 and regret to say it is no longer a viable golf training app. As all swings have to be 'sent' before they can be reviewed, the time taken for this, even if there happens to be a mobile connection, is just unusably long - as example I had to wait 4 mins between swings. Moreover there is no chance of trimming before sending. Contrarily after the swing video is retrieved, It is automatically trimmed! Other features that have been removed- Cannot edit swing description Lines are not drawn smoothly and you have to guess where they will appear No way of single stepping the video No means of zooming or panning video The trim method does not allow the trim positions to be finely tuned. Once the video has been trimmed it cannot be saved The video sorting feature is potentially a welcome addition but it does not work. E-mail to support crashed when I accidentally touched the picture icon so I post my observations here. I do want this app to work properly because I have loads of swings on V1 but this version is both unusable and incomplete..Version: 2.0.3
✓ Could use updated videos, poor quality.While it's pretty easy to use the swing videos contained in the app are incredibly outdated and very poor quality. I have used the app for a long time and the models have never changed. Seriously required an update a long time ago..Version: 1.01.14

✓ Make your App Work fine!!!Used to be my favorite swing app, they changed to a sub app which is fine, happy to pay for your hard work, but everything slows down after the big update, cant view swings frame by frame now, there is a big lag doing so. ✓ Update that hurt the resultsI had recently upgraded to the paid version. Soon after the app had an update which changed the editing and analyzing results. Previously you could slow mo easily through the app to find the best spots to trim your video and review the results. Now it will constantly freeze and can only move it forward and backward in clumps which significantly lengthens the editing and review times. There are also times where your video will become corrupted and you lose it as well. This issue occurred on the free version as well. Two weeks into this paid subscription I had asked for a refund but was refused as well. I would suggest using another app to avoid these issues..Version: 3.1.0
✓ Good In TheorySoooo buggy. This app could be cool if it didn’t have so many problems. I can’t ever download my lessons from the cloud, it just says “oops lost network” in the middle of downloading, while my phone definitely doesn’t lose network. I can’t delete my cloud videos without it freezing. Logging in can be very buggy too. When I go to analyze my swing in 240 fps it degrades the quality so bad that I can’t see the club face. This app would be great if it functioned well but it mostly just causes a lot of frustration. I wish my coach used something else..Version: 2.4.2
✓ Features ripped awayI bought this app years ago when you actually has to pay for apps and not subscription services. Every time I update this app I get less and less and less features each time. All basic things that this app used to be able to do cannot do anything. Lines, boxes, comparison, overlay, even colors!!!! Seeiously you took away the colors? ✓ Slow and clumsy analysisRecording is fine, although it would be nice if it could self-detect swings like the Zepp app. Uploading is slowish but tolerable, although it often takes multiple attempts. Downloading is agonizingly slow and times out frequently, making the app almost unusable. Need better developpers! Will never pay premium until speed and reliability improves.Version: 2.3.87
✓ BE WARNED - many negatives.You only have 7 days after your app purchase to get a refund. So, if you’re traveling without golf clubs (like I did) you won’t be able to get your money back. You are unable to save your videos after analysis. Lines, overlays etc are lost as soon as you close the video. This means that you cannot record and compare progression of your swings over time. You are unable to overlay your own swings on-top of one-another and save them. The ‘save’ aspect is crucial. If you read the app description, they avoid any reference to being unable to do so. The app is also very glitchy. If you overlay a pro’s swing over yours, leave the app (open) to do something else on your phone, then come back to it, the overlay video defaults back to its original size and it’s then unable to be resized. One has to start again. In overlay ‘mode’, it’s very unclear as to how to switch between each video. I accidentally found the function by tapping on the timer at the top of the screen. You can also not play yours and the pro’s overlay’d video simultaneously. If that function is available, the UX is so poor that I cannot find it (and I’m in the UX industry). The pro’s videos are great. The primary issues are not content related. It’s about: poor usability, inability to save videos and no refunds after 7 days..Version: 3.3.5
✓ Best video app ever until last updateV1 has been the market leader for golf analysis. Until your last update. Why make users log onto your cloud using their mobile data before we can even record a swing? Did you consider that golf is sometimes played in the countryside outside 4G mobile areas? The log in times before I can even record a swing and the upload times as your app now forces me to upload every swing I record is too slow and uses massive amounts of my data. Some times I just want to take my phone out and quickly record a swing. Not wait until I can log into your cloud or wait until the app uploads the previous swing into your cloud until I can record another one. ✓ V1 What HappenedSorry V1… but ….I agree with the recent reviews .. as a golf instructor I loved the old version that allowed you to use the tools as they were right on the screen and when you drew lines …they stayed .. this version is awkward, glitchy and time consuming. One of the best features in the previous versions was being able to compare the swings to the tour players so individuals could see what they were doing right and/or wrong …now you can’t do that. And you can’t analyze the tour players swings as you can’t draw on them using the tools. The previous version was better..Version: 3.2.4

✓ READ B4 BUYINGGood overall app, Great idea, Great execution... As a left handed golfer i would not suggest other lefties to get this app. The comparative section with all the professional golfers swings a a distinct lack of left handed golfers. More specifically I was personally unable to find a "Down the line" view of a left handed golfer and have not been unable to compare my swing with that view 😕 Im sure they could easily change it in an update adding more lefties and maybe have it organized so you can look at only lefties or only righties swings. ✓ What is this updateThis was an excellent app and was practical and easy to use/compare/store swings, etc. This update is unbelievably horrible. I can’t believe I have paid for whatever this is. Now longer are swings listed in categories of my choosing, they are all in 1 big list which is impossible to find anyway. Plus I can no longer compare horizontally or overlay swings. Incredibly disappointed with this update. I think I’ll be leaving this app..Version: 2.0.3
