✓ Won’t load or download books I’ve boughtI’ve bought 3 books and have had an extremely hard time getting this garbage app to load or download them. I’ve reinstalled/restarted the app, restarted my phone, did all sorts of network troubleshooting and nothing worked. Finally, I archived all the books I had and restored them and it finally started to load. Fix these bugs already. I’ve never had a smooth experience with this app. Everything is a headache. ✓ Takes MoneyHello, I just today bought the From Fear Itself 7.1 book today and I bought it online as I wasn’t aware that there was an app. After it lead me to an app when I said I wanted to read it, the app asked me to log in. I put it the exact details I signed in with and it said they were wrong so I decided that I would try resetting my password. Again, this didn’t work so now I have paid money and given valuable information to, it seems an untrustworthy site as now I am worried about my information. ✓ Horrible app - Use comiXology insteadWas logged into this app until today when it decided to log me out and won’t accept my login details. Tried reset my password, but marvel will not let me select my own password, and insist in making me choose one that they select. ✓ Great app, poor UI on update!I've been a fan of the Comics/Marvel app for a while now, but the latest update leaves a lot to be desired. The main problem is how they've changed accessing comics you've downloaded to read them - I work in UX design and I took me forever to work out! You used to be able to access an issue from 'My Comics', where you would see it and be able to click 'Read'. Simple. But no more. The latest update has focused on purchases, meaning you now need to access a further level down, 'downloads', and access them from there. 'Downloads' refers to the act of downloading, not the file itself. You don't go looking for an iTunes music file under downloads, do you? (This isn't helped by the fact that if you do download a file you get an extra button at the bottom - guess what it's called?) Guys, you just need to fix this so it's more instinctive to use, and be sure the interface prioritises the main thing a user will want to do. (Read or Restore Purchases - which do you think for a comics app?).Version: 3.0
✓ Totally user UNFRIENDLYThe previous versions of the app had a read button - spent ages trying to work out how to read the comics I downloaded. searched a forum to discover that you have to press the download button on the top right which gives you a list of downloaded comics. marvel - that was stupid. most people are use the my comics button, pick the comic and expect to be able to READ it, not wonder where's the button to read, only to have to jump another step to the download button, and find the comic again to read it..Version: 3.0.1

✓ Ridiculous PricesA standard comic app running the comixology model with stupidly high pricing. $4.50 for a DRM digital file (current titles) is ridiculous. I can get physical copies from the LCS for the same price here in Australia. Some older titles are a reasonable 99c but anything less than 5 years old and you will be paying thru the nose. ✓ Good content, terrible appThe comic books it has are brilliant, pricing is good. But it all goes downhill when you see the UI. There is no obvious and easy way for me to say browse by series. I found it so hard to find out how to close a comic without pressing the home button, which doesnt meet apple's app policy of "being able to pick it up and use it without thinking about it" Cus believe me after using this for a while I was still none the wiser! I also couldn't find any easy way to view all what comics I have (assuming I have more than 6 or 7). Comics in a series should be stacked sort of like the iPads photo app then theres the fact I can't transfer the comics to the pc/mac like you can do with iWork apps - we paid or the content, let us store it on our computer for god sake! ✓ Good app, but 1.1 update is bad bad badLove the Marvel comics app, but this update is terrible. It claims to have resolved download issues - it hasn't. It's made them worse. Once you've installed the update, the app seems to want to redownload a large number of your comics, which seems a little over the top (it wanted to redownload over 70 of mine!). Not only that, but, at least for me, the download of each individual comic gets stuck until I go in and try to read that comic, meaning that I'm effectively having to redownload each comic individually. The old version never had any of these problems. I'm giving this three stars, because I hate those "latest version is awful therefore I'll give it a 1 star review" reviews, but really, this is very disappointing, to the point of being almost unusable until an update is issued..Version: 1.1

✓ Doesn’t download comics half the timeI’m reading on an iPad with plenty of spare storage space and I’ve set the app to use as much storage as it needs but for half of the comics I buy it will not let me download them or let me read them at all. I’ve tried closing out of the app and even waiting a couple days but that didn’t accomplish anything. One time deleting and reinstalling the app worked for me but even that doesn’t always work. It’s alright other than that but this is a significant problem for me. Edit: The problem might come from signing into my Marvel account. ✓ No excuse for such a poor app in 2019This is not a review of Marvel in any way. I love Marvel and always have. This app, however, is hot garbage. For probably a year now at least when I buy comics they frequently will not load. The comic sits there on the screen alternating between a pause button and a download button. Is it working? It is paused? Who knows? All I know is that I just bought something and can’t read it. Go buy a book through Apple Books or Kindle and watch how quickly it’s available to read. FIX YOUR APP. ✓ So closeWhen the app is working it is great. The organization is nice and has helped me keep track of my comics very well. The two main issues I have is there is no way to redeem digital codes through the app so you have to constantly go back and forth to the website and also that it constantly logs you out. I was able to read it no problem so I decide to go ahead and get another one and bought iron man demon in a bottle a week ago and it wouldn’t download. I tried to stop the download and restart it to no avail. After a few days of trying it and not hearing back from customer service I delete the app and reinstall it. ✓ Slow to downloadThis app has an amazing selection of comics. So many I'd love to look at. But the speed of the downloads is a real killer. I don't know why it is so slow? It also stops downloading the comic once you get out of the app and start doing something else. So it isn't even an option to have your purchase downloading in the background. ✓ No continuity of title seriesIf, like me, you want to get this app because you were a comics fan in your youth in or around the 1960s and 70s and have heard that series such as Amazing Spiderman issues #1 to 25 are available on it, BE WARNED! I bought the first 25 issues but have now been waiting well over a year and still no sign of issue #26. Same goes for the early Avengers, Daredevil, X-Men, Tales of Suspense and Journey into Mystery. Also, I sampled much of the new stuff but deleted it soon afterwards because, perhaps unsurprisingly, superheroes do not have the same appeal for me now. For me the value is in nostalgia. I still check what is available from Marvel on a weekly basis, but because they are not continuing the “golden oldies”, my money stays in my bank..Version: 1.2

Comics on my iphone, easy to transport and I thought the selection of free comics was quite generous as well. However, ever since the upgrades in operating systems for the iphone, I start reading a comic and then the reader will just go blank and kick me out.I can't read more than 2 or 3 pages now without it happening so it's basically unusable now. You can't do that with this app. The newest comics are only available in print and you have to have a separate account for this (it doesn't use in-app purchases). ✓ Good app but be warnedThis is a great app for reading comics. While it will never take the place of real paper comics it is readable and a good way to get hold of back issues i may have missed, and I really like that if you buy a physical copy of a comic you can get the digital version for free. HOWEVER you should not buy comics from this app. Comixology (who powers this app) have a website where you can log in with the same account and see your library AND where I've found the comics are significantly cheaper. One comic that should have cost me 2.99 in the app was 2.49 on the website. I should make it clear that this is the same company. If you buy something on the website you can then download it onto the app with no additional purchase. I'm extremely disappointed to find that the same company can charge two different prices for the same comic and rip people off in this manner..Version: 3.8.3

✓ No communication between the two primary Marvel apps.All of your purchased and redeemed comics you have stored in the Marvel app don’t sync with the Marvel unlimited application. Your account does work on both, but for some reason the app does not recognize any comics that are currently in your library. This would all be resolved if Marvel provided a standard file that could be downloaded to your device once it is redeemed or purchased. That way digital comics are actually owned instead of just borrowed when and only when you have access to the internet. Accessing comics in the application offline is not convenient. ✓ Once, awesome, but now, ehI used to have this app. The comics I Reese were awesome. Later on I needed some space in my storage for other apps, so I deleted it. A year or two later I reinstalled it. That was when the trouble started. I was looking for some comics to download when I saw the fbcd avengers #1. I clicked purchase and a few minutes later, it shows in my books section with a pause symbol on it. I clicked it and two symbols came. The download symbol and the delete symbol. I clicked the download symbol and the pause symbol appeared again. I did then deleted the comic and downloaded it again, but it would still be the same. ✓ Still needs some work but not bad.I have had this app for a while, maybe for about a few years, and there is still always something wrong with the app. It’s nothing major, just little occurrences that are really annoying. For example, each time I click “see all” for the new comics on sale for the week, the app always crashes. The app has crashed a few times just trying to sign into my account. Other than that, it’s not a bad app. On another note, I wish that the app would allow you to see what new comics are coming out next week, not just the week that you are in..Version: 3.10.7
✓ Can't get free comics from codesI was trying to redeem comics from the code I got in an issue of Star Wars: Cassian and K-2so on marvel's website. It was a code for the digital version of the book and a free issue of Rocket Raccoon: grounded. The code got redeemed but the comics never went to the comics tab section in my app. Complete waste of time..Version: 3.10.5
✓ Scrolling issueI’ve had this app for years and it speaks for itself, it’s amazing! But recently I haven’t been able to scroll, I’d try but it wouldn’t go passed the first 2.5 rows before jumping back to the top making it spaz rapidly. ✓ DeadThis app no longer functions at all on my I phone 6 once you open a comic it gets stuck on the cover can't go any where and have to restart my phone to stop it if I don't the app keeps loading in the back ground and eats all my data. ✓ Love the comics, hate the appI have been using this to read and buy comics for over a year now, and the selection of comics is really good, updated every week, the prices are decent (could always b cheaper, I'd buy more!) plenty of freebies is nice as well. However the app itself is useless, its slow and crashes constantly on my iPod touch 3rd gen, iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS. Especially slow if no Internet connection is available as it seems to keep trying to update for some time. I would be more inclined to buy comics if I could reliably read them. If it was reliable I would give it 5* as nothing beats downloading a bunch of comics before a long flight, but it desperately needs an update!.Version: 0

✓ PSA - STICK WITH PAPER COMICS!!!I’ve had this app for years. My paper collection was building and taking up a lot of space so I thought it would be a good idea to go digital. BAD IDEA! Regrettably, I have well over 800 comics on this app. The app crashes and I’ve repeatedly lost access to my library. On multiple occasions my library size has suddenly shrunk to a fraction of what what it truly is which leaves me to jump through a series of hoops to regain access. The new update has you going through a series of interactive security checks to ensure that you aren’t a “robot.” This is ridiculous to have to go through for a member. This isn’t Fort Knox! I am a huge Marvel fan across all spectrums. However, if I had it to do over again I would have stuck with paper comics..Version: 3.11.3

✓ Its good...but not good enoughReally I think marvel have dropped the ball on this, for one the pricing is a little too high 99p for a newish title would be much better and perhaps 59p for older titles,for two the selection every week seems to get less diverse where have all the golden and silver age comics gone,and for three there is no kind of news feed to tell me what I can expect from future releases,for instance if they want me to buy the first 3 copys of journey into mystery what is the point if I dont know for sure that more issues in the series are going to arrive,at the moment I feel they dont really seem to be taking the digital distribution that seriously,all this could change in the future but for now I'm done....I'm sticking with paper..Version: 0
