Fingering for Positive User Reviews

Fantastic resource! This has been on my iPod, iPhone, and iPad for many years now and has always been helpful when I have a brain fart on my woodwind fingerings for alternates and trills. Its also a quick way to give a clear visual to students so that I don’t have to say numbers and spin an instrument around wildly to show which fingers are used. This is particularly helpful for beginning clarinetists with too many pinky keys to handle. Some helpful ideas: 1. fix the piccolo finger chart (it is VERY atypical for a piccolo to have a low D-flat or C). 2. Incorporate some extended range fingers (clarinet is already screaming high, but some standard rep has flutes going up to D and higher and almost all modern saxophone repertoire will have a G6 at least) 3. Add a chart for recorders! Both Baroque and German. (This is actually a recent need for me and what is leading to me writing a review today). Many musicals ask woodwind doublers to include recorder in their arsenal, so this would be very helpful to that group..Version: 6.2

Very Nice! (Update Suggestions)This is a very good app! I would recommend changing the title "Concert" to "Sounds" or a combination of the two. Also, I would suggest adding the title, "Written" to the actual written notes being selected. The Trombone needs a title change as well. The "Tenor/Bass Trombone" is, in my experience, an inaccurate name. It is a "Tenor Trombone". A Bass Trombone currently, has two valves (Typically set up as F/Gb/D, depending on the valve configuration). All in all, this is the best fingering chart app I have seen so far. Thank you!.Version: 0

This is an all-in-one fingering AppThis is a must have for all: 1. Band masters. 2. Music directors & Conductors 3. Aspiring Instrumentalists 4. Music Students 5. Music fun and hobbyist This app is understandable whether one can read music or not. I recommend it to every music professional. You will not regret this purchase..Version: 4.5

Very detailed app!It would be better though, if you heard the selected instrument's sound when you select a note, instead of just piano..Version: 3.0

Great reference app! This app is excellent! I went for the one with brass and woodwind info and it does not disappoint. There are a full range of instruments to choose from, including trombone, french horn and Cor Anglais. Alternative finger positions are easily accessed and it is so simple to move the note up and down by dragging, then left for flat and right for sharp. Very well thought out! The stability is excellent and it hasn’t once crashed on my iPhone XS. Highly recommended!!!!.Version: 6.2

Great appExcellent app! Fingerings for the clarinet are great, especially for finding alternate fingerings. The most recent update makes finding chromatic fingerings much easier. Solid app all around..Version: 3.3

Awesome and Very Useful!!!This app is awesome and very useful. Here's what will make this a five star app. As a band director myself, there are some alternate fingerings that are missing. For example, for trumpet...4th space E (concert D), there's an alternate fingering for that note and that is 1st and 2nd valve. Also...4th space Eb (Concert Db) can also be played as 2nd & 3rd valve. It doesn't show that. Another example, the flute fingering for Bb, there are 3 different fingerings for that note and it only shows the main fingering. I'm sure these are not the only ones missing. Fix this and I'll give it 5 stars..Version: 3.3

Yay!One of the most helpful music apps out there, absolutely necessary for music educators and music education students!.Version: 5.1

Great toolFantastic tool for any band director!.Version: 5.0

Love it!As a music educator this is an amazing and comprehensive fingering app that every band director should have!.Version: 3.4

Upgrade makes it quite usefulI'm glad to see the core wind & brass instruments now included. I wish Mr. Kelly included a way to contact himself on his web/support site. I really like this app and his work on upgrades, but would make the following suggestions... allow the user to choose between how note names are displayed (transposed or concert pitch), and also chose between sounding or muting the displayed notes. I would imagine these to be simple additions to make and hope the developer checks in here; it would make the app much more flexible. Fix these and I'd give it a 5+.Version: 0

Awesome updateAdding the mute button and fully supporting the Tenor and Bass trombone (accurately I may add!) are great changes from a responsive developer. This is now my go to app for fingering. Thanks!.Version: 3.3

Good appNeeds to have an option to see their pitch rather than the default concert pitch. Include more alternate fingerings for woodwinds as well. With those options I would rate it 5 stars..Version: 4.5

Brilliant and extremely usefulWhat an extensive and useful tool.. Many functions really helpful even simply as a tuning reference. Have used this in orchestral situations with great success.. A must have pocket reference..Version: 0

No Sound :(Will the app be updated for the latest iOS? There is no sound at all. Even with muting and unmuting..Version: 6.2

Great band appIt’s definitely the best app for me and my friends, we are in a high school band and it helps, although it may be expensive its definitely worth it..Version: 6.2

Fixed the problemUpgrade loaded after I deleted then reinstalled the app..Version: 4.1

Da BestGreat app. Accurate. I teach instrumental music in Jr. High and High School. I use it regularly every year. Shows alternate fingerings and trills. When students see the app, they want to download it for themselves as well..Version: 5.1

Best of the fingering apps available! While it's one of the more expensive apps for fingerings, it's a comprehensive and polished app..Version: 3.3

Sax playerThere are notes missing on altissimo..Version: 4.5

Perfect Reference ToolI use Fingerings for Alto Sax, Soprano Sax, Eflat and Bflat Clarinet. Would be hard to live without..Version: 5.1

Make your own fingering optionI love this app. Always use it when I’m need of a reference. But there should an option to create your own fingerings and write notes for that fingering. I am a professional who sometimes uses alternate fingerings to change tone or make passages smoother. This feature would make leagues easier to keep up with my ever growing library of fingerings..Version: 6.2

TeacherAlmost perfect, but needs Eb and F tuba fingerings..Version: 0

Great but some fingerings are missingSaxophones can play Dflat 3, you just don’t have the fingering for it. It is the lowest note on the saxophone besides a low A on baritone saxophone.Version: 6.0

Incredible help! This is one of the best apps I paid money for. It is worth every penny! Just buy it!!!.Version: 4.5

ExcellentGreat app, helps me everyday with fingerings for the C tuba..Version: 0

SOUND NOT WORKINGAwesome music app. But there is no sound..Version: 6.2
