✓ Good start... Very bad endingI've always loved the game Worms and brought it for my iPhone last year and had no issues. This version however is constantly freezing during the game so you can't see the opposition's movement and when the game is close to finishing it freezes completely. I had to reboot my device to leave the frozen game as it wouldn't end even after closing the app. As I said I love the game worms and it was always so smooth but there are some serious bugs in this version that need to be fixed before I would recommend a friend to buy it. Disappointing considering the price too. To the creators - it looks fantastic but please fix these bugs..Version: 1.04
✓ Could be 5 stars but...This is Worms, a game I have been playing for years on PCs until sadly the last computer I had that would run the old version I played died. So it was exciting to see the game on the Apple store so downloading it was a no brainer. In many ways it is is similar to the old game, in some ways different and better (the AI is much smarter for example which makes the games much harder) But all this is more than countered by the fussy nature of controlling the worm (I've lost count of the number of times a worm has moved the wrong way at a critical moment when I've accidentally brushed the screen) but as others have noted it is the almost impossible task of controlling the worms at the edge of the screen that is so frustrating. Improve the sensitivity of the controls and make them consistent over all the screen area then this game could get the 5 stars it deserves.Version: 1.09
✓ Almost unplayableWhen it works the game is brilliant. The controls have been tweaked perfectly for the iPad. However.... And this is a deal breaker.. The game is plagued with massive crashing issues. To the point where playing against the AI is almost impossible as you find yourself just hoping to pass the level before the AI use one of the weapons that trigger a crash. Fix the crashing and it would be 5 stars. A perfect time waster. ✓ Crashes all the timeIt would be a great game..if only it worked...it crashes all the time in campain mode and then you loose all of your progress in the level you're playing. ✓ It's ok... Needs to be fixed thoLove the game itself, but after paying nearly $6 for it I was a bit dissapointed, and so was my friend. Why? Well the multiplayer function is flawed at best. Everytime your opponent has a go it takes aaaaaages to load and most times you can't see wat they have done, it just says 'waiting for players' or watever it says and u miss all the fun. When it returns to your go u see the end result, that's it. Just generally glitchy and poor performance. And yes I have an extremely good Internet connection and an updated iPhone 4 so it ain't me. ✓ Offensively badI looked at the reviews and assumed people’s phones perhaps couldn’t handle the game. But I have an iPhone 11 Pro and this game lags, and it looks disgustingly bad. I can’t imagine that Team 17 are proud of this, this must be an off-shoot in a garage because it’s insulting to think they thought this was passable and deserved their name to be affiliated with it. I’ve always known team 17 to be good quality, this does not reflect that. Bugs, not being to move properly. Poor UI and the menu alone is awful. I think I deserve a refund, but I’ll settle for letting people know this app needs another year of development, complete rework most likely, it’s sad because I was actually really excited to play this. I don’t buy mobile games often. But this one wouldn’t be worth it if it was free. Maybe I built it up in my head too much which I was I was let down. But it really is a shame, and I hope the Team 17 devs are aware of this sad excuse for a worms game. ✓ Controls are utterly frustratingFirst of all, I love this game. I’ve loved it since N64 and cannot begin to count the number of hilarious memories I have from Friday and Saturday nights with my mates after the pub. BUT. This version has almost caused me to fling my phone across the room about 50 times already. Luckily, my clearer headed self has kicked in beforehand and I’ve thrown something unbreakable instead. First of all, the computer teams are more accurate with grenades, shotguns, and bazookas than a military smart bomb; often firing them across the entire map, through the tiniest crack in the landscape, whilst perfectly factoring in wind speed, elevation, and shot strength. Secondly, the touchscreen controls will leave you seething with anger after your worm leaps straight in to the water instead of performing a backflip. This is guaranteed to happen when you have almost completed a match, rather than at the beginning where it wouldn’t bother you so much. I’m wondering if a Bluetooth controller would work better, so I may give that a try. I want to enjoy this game so badly, but the controls make me want to smash stuff..Version: 1.25

✓ There is room for improvement...I've been a fan of the Worms franchise since the classic "Worms 2" released in 1998. And while this incarnation is still quite enjoyable, two things drag down the experience for me... First and foremost the controls feel rather cumbersome on an iPad. Basically you move your worms left or right by holding your digit down on the left/right two-thirds of the screen, jump by tapping on your worm, set trajectory by dragging the reticule up and down, select a weapon by tapping on the bottom-left icon and then on your choice from the pop-up menu, and fire with the button in the bottom right. You also can move the camera by dragging two digits across the screen. While I suppose this setup works well enough on the smaller iPhone/iPod touch, since everything is in immediate reach, it demands frequently adjusting your grip over the much larger tablet. Had this been an iPhone-only app then I wouldn't complain. But since it's designed for both I wish an alternative control scheme was available that kept everything within reach on the iPad. The second issue for me is level of control you are given over the game. While there is still quite a lot that can be customized, it isn't remotely as flexible as earlier incarnations. My biggest gripe here is that you can't change the number of worms per team; you only get four..Version: 1.02

Currently it is so easy to accidentally move or jump accidentally because the touch control is not ideal for this game. Movement should have dedicated buttons and jump also or double flip. Also the targeting is hard as well as it is not accurate and tend to snap wrongly. There is no targeting for grenades. It seems the ai have 95%accuracy in hitting so not fair unless if the game shows the trajectory line but it doesn't.not recommended unless u are a fan or until the control are fixed..Version: 1.04
✓ Ruined....This was a great game but updates have ruined it. I play on the network with friends but we're constantly getting 'opponent resigned' or some other message which means we can't finish our games. Don't even try to get 16 matches on the go as they all crash before they finish. We also have the same problems with phantom badges!!! Come on Team 17 you need to sort this out. Plus, what about different game types for network play?? Until these issues are resolves I just can't recommend it, although single player is still okay. Update Dec 12: Seriously Team17 what are you doing?? Another update and now the online play is worse than ever. How difficult is it to sort out the turn-based game? ✓ Bluetooth is buggedMe and a friend bought this game to play together, but the Bluetooth multiplayer is bugged. It takes about 30 seconds to show what the other player has done, and half the time it doesn't even show the move they made. Be warned - Bluetooth multiplayer is no fun at all. ✓ Mixed impressionsI have loved worms since I irst played it in 2004. I still love it today but I am a little disappointed with its latest mobile app because there are many bugs in the system- from the rifle being off from the guidance system, jet packs malfunctioning, the homing missiles irregular in its trajectory even when there's no wind involved, etc. in the hard category, it's ok for them to make those unbelievanle shots defying the laws of physics sometimes, but what is frustrating is when you make a very careful, well-calculated shot and then the program turns it into a lousy, inaccurate shot. The first version is actually more accurate than this latest version. The reason I first fell in love with this game is that in the beginnin, the app allows tou to coose the settings you like from what language (american, british, scottish accent) to use, the weapons are all accessible. the new version only lets you use the ordinary ones. the special ones I think you need to buy. ✓ Decent but needs workFirst of all, to the people who are complaining about the lack of instructions, spend 2 minutes starting from the start screen going through the menus and I promise you'll find the How To Play instructions. I just bought the game and played it a couple times already, and read the gameplay instructions. Some of the controls are intuitive and some are not or have precision issues. I can't seem to jump or backflip when I want to. I would recommend a special jump button along the bottom and expand the left/right movement regions. The scrolling content boxes are barely usable, especially in the gameplay instructions where only 2 lines of text show at a time. They look in-style of the game, but it feels like usability was sacrificed for design. I don't remember all the weapons and I haven't found a way to see the name or how-to-use for the weapons during gameplay, which I find mildly frustrating. Considering this is a port of an old game, I'm not terribly disappointed in the lack of new stuff, but I don't feel they quite got the game in sync with the medium. They definitely need to do some testing on average users and make some fixes. However, this was one of the best Worms games and I'm glad that I can play it again without having to dust off my Pentium 3 tower..Version: 1.07

✓ They made another worms gameI feel sorry for Team 17 having to churn out so many versions of the same game but this port feels a little lazy, the controls work and I'm glad it doesn't rely on virtual sticks but there is little indication as to if where you are pressing will move your worm or fire your weapon, the enemy AI seems to have totally split personalities where it is either pixel perfect accurate or downright moronic, to make matters worse the game appears to be playing in the wrong aspect ratio (maybe from using the exact same assets on the iPhone, I'm not sure) this gives the impression that everything is squished and badly proportioned, the UI is serviceable but not exactly pretty and the whole thing feels a little rushed. Thats not to say the whole game is terrible, there is fun to be had in the multiplayer, and the weapon set is from the expanded armageddon games rather than the more limited "classic" games from on the PS3 and 360, this means super sheep, armageddons, mass teleports and bunch of other over powered tools are available should you want them. For the price it's fun enough, just could of used an extra layer of polish..Version: 1.06

So not only to you lure people in with features that don't work, but every time I open the game (that I paid you money for), I get the same ads over and over. ✓ So much potential but very badly madeI really wanted to love this game. I loved worms 2 on the PC. Sadly I felt this game was made without thought and it just kinda makes me mad to play. I have two main areas where it bothers me. Controls: This are difficult to use, and even worse never explained in the game anywhere. I only worked out how to jump from a game hint in between loading screens. Even now I sometimes jump when I wana walk and more than once it's cost me the game. There are no in game tutorials. The controls are really very bad. The AI This also annoys me a lot. Bouncing a grenade off 3 different surfaces to land on my head? No problem. Making a no line of sight boozka shot across the entire map 3 times in a row? Easy. Fireing a weapon through a gap so small it can't be seen even under maximum zoom? Child's play. Screw you AI. You don't play fair. Yeh, I want you to be tough to play, but you're cheating by making ridiculous shots even the best human player couldn't make. 100% of the time. Screw you. I could put up with one of these problems, but both combined make it "throw your phone across the room" frustrating to play. And not in a good way. I got this app for only 69p, and still feel that's over priced for the shoddy controls and AI..Version: 1.13
✓ UnfinishedCrashed often. Full of bugs. Two completely different weapons are described as "the most powerful weapon in the game" in the weapon descriptions. Trying to turn your character around to move them towards the edge of the screen often causes them to jump to their death. Way too much waiting to move, no option to skip passively watching sequences. Projectile weapons sometimes pass through terrain like it isn't there. As far as I can tell there are 2 or 3 weapons in the game that you're never even given access to. Unacceptable port of a classic game..Version: 1.04

✓ Worms 2 mobileThis game is good although a few things are needed. You cannot go out of the game to txt or message 3rd parties at the same time while playing against your friends which is actually extremely annoying. This needs to be fixed. Also If a custom game is created the person that created the custom game will always go first. ✓ Not quite the original classicThere are a few things that let this game down. First of all the sound occasionally cuts out and the frame rate drops so low that sometimes it isn't even possible to play the game. The crosshair can be a bit awkward to use. The controls sometimes don't respond the way you want e.g I try to move and instead the worm jumps most often on a mine! However the most infuriating thing is the ridiculous accuracy of the CPU. when they pull of near impossible shots it doesn't motivate you to continue playing. Apart from that the elements from the original worms 2 are still present and can still be enjoyable despite these flaws. 3 1/2 out of 5.Version: 1.04

✓ AI ruins the campaignThe Ai makes the game no fun. I quit out of pure frustration. It’s not challenging, it’s impossible. It would be so easy to fix which makes it more frustrating, just put a +\- 10 or 20% variability on each shot. Done. Fixed. The game would be playable again. ✓ DisappointingSimilar to the original in looks, the controls are a little more clunky. AI is poor though, with computer opponents either outstanding or pointless and nothing in between. There should be a clear progression of difficulty from the start of the campaign to the end. It would have been nice if they had included the training missions from the original. Instead they included the load times of the original. The financial side of things is out of order. Having paid £2.99 for the game, why do I have to see adverts? Why do I have to pay extra for one more weapon? I am appalled by game designers charging for apps and then milking that little bit extra out of their customers with 'bonus' content which in yesteryear would have been unlockable through progress in the game. ✓ Not goodI made a review a while back saying that the enemy worms were too good and they could kill 3 of mine with one shot which was unrealistic (for example, sudden winds which would abruptly change the direction of the missiles they fire and they managed to fit bazookas through tiny gaps) Now after the update, the enemy worms are so stupid and keep killing each other. The game went from one extreme to the other. What's worse is I still manage to lose because the last enemy worm is always 100% accurate and manages to kill 3+ of my worms at once and is also very difficult to kill. I don't like the new multiplayer mode, it's hard to tell if your opponent is still there or if they've left. It'd be nice to see what they were doing live rather than waiting and hoping they're still playing. I've never completed a full game of the new multiplayer because apparently my opponents never stay after making 2 or 3 moves; they just leave me waiting. Games are slow to load, you just watch the map get drawn out and the worms get placed on the map for 15 seconds. Could the speed of this be increased at all? No support for the retina graphics on the 3rd generation iPad. The game takes up large capacity on my iPad; considering it's not retina that makes me unhappy. Don't bother buying this game, it might be worth checking out if it's free, but not while it costs money. (The new update made it lose 1 star).Version: 1.08
✓ Good but has problemsFirst off, I always have been a worms fan and love this game. Sadly there are a few issues. The AI in the game is incredibly difficult at some points (as stated in another review by another player) and comparing it to previous games, it's much harder. Another issue is ever since I downloaded the battle pack the game keeps crashing and it gets very frustrating. And when you go back to resume the game, everything is all messed up, like magnets that shouldn't be there or parts of the landscape that should be blown up. Also the pack promised '7' new weapons yet one is missing from the weapon screen (invisibility, which is kinda ironic) and it annoys me. Which takes me back to the game crashing. When resuming these new weapons can completely disappear from the game. Hope these guys get a move on and fix the bugs and issues with this awesome game..Version: 1.04

✓ Turn based play needs improving!The turn based play on this game is terrible. Not only will it not let me invite my game centre friends. When a friend invites me to a game it says "error loading match" so I can't play. However when it does let me play a turn based game it doesn't even let you select which map, which guns and how many worms you can have. It automatically selects a defaulted game where you don't get to use the best weapons. Also, it would be great to be able to include more than two human players in the turn based play! (as it is only head to head at present) The reason why I have given it three stars is because the single player campaign and the body count game mode are very good and will keep you entertained for some time. ✓ Good, but unfortunateI loved the Worms games from the beginning. However this game itself has single handedly killed my love of worms. Essentially its the same game, shoot at stuff and blow it up. I am an intermediate player, let's be fair, but advancing on single player only got me up to level 30 out of 36? This is just due to the complete skill of the AI (pulling off so many lucky shots or throws that no person can do) and the amount that you are outnumbered by 12 to Just 1. Trying every tactic, sticking up close to the worms so they don't fire on their own men doesn't work, tunnelling doesn't work, all out warfare doesn't work. It's a great game up to level 28 then the difficulty just hits home and becomes more of an annoyance than a game. A bit more of a rant than a review but I digress. Sort out the AI difficulty then it would be 3 maybe 4 stars, but never more than one for the amount of annoyance it has caused..Version: 1.04
✓ Not there yetI love worm games but this one is just not there yet. 1. Unresponsive controls. When you press a button it should press. But in this game every once in awhile you cannot move or fire and it gets really annoying especially when you are in the middle of an attack. Another thing I really hate is when you end up jumping to your death when just trying to move. 2. Glitchy terrain. When can you shoot or throw things though terrain? I have lost I cannot count how many matches this way by either the enemy shooting though the terrain or my grenade going right though it. 3. Glitchy and missing sounds. Not all sound effects play in this game. When you do something and it is dead silent it just ruins the experience. Also certian weapons appear to missing sound effects like the holy grenade. 4. Extremely repetitive voices. Can we get more varienty. It appears half or more of the voices were left out. 5. Please add a restart level option in the main menu. I hate having to exit all the way back to the main menu then load up again. 6. These are annoying but not as important as above. Compression for the game so it does not take so much space. ✓ I want to play it. I want to love it. But…The controls are beyond my comprehension. I spent a whole turn trying to do a simple jump. And another trying to figure out homing missile mechanics. Thankfully now with Worms 4 you’ve made it easy, but it’s a shame i can’t enjoy this nostalgia successfully. ✓ Good but not great.The game looks great but feels sluggish, the colours are kinda bland. Graphics: They aren't impressive, neither to make me even batter an eye lied but still alive with the classic look of the Worms series. Gameplay: it's interesting, it holds a feeling of the original and that doesn't hold up well since this is Worms 2 not Worms 1. The jumping is mostly useable, the speed of the worms are just slow and makes moving from a mine in time unlikely. When using the crossfire, it's just plain awful, try teleporting or placing a bridge in a timeframe and you are going to run into problems as it likes to get stuck in places. The aim of some weapons and bombs is clumsy and all differently powered. 3/10 An update on this game, with a closer look, this game has the player always unfairly beaten by the computer, not one, not two but three teams in the campaign mode are up again you, with complete accuracy you will be dominated without a chance to get the upper hand you are looking at 3 worms against 9 or more. I'm disappointed by this game no AI on AI combat, just complete domination of the player, hopeful something else comes if the others, just stay away from this game, it's not worth a pound..Version: 1.15

✓ Crashing and movement ruin a great gameThis would be a great adaptation of the game I used to play in the late 90's. Unfortunately it crashes a lot, and although you it handily stores your game whenever you exit the app, when you reopen it crashes in the same exact way. For example, an enemy worm will jump and pull out its weapon, the game will crash, then you open it up and the enemy worm will jump in exactly the same way and pull out its weapon only for the game to crash again, ad nauseam. And I have a brand new iPhone. Like Groundhog Day, you can't get passed that, so your campaign and progress is ruined. Additionally, the movement controls are fatally flawed. You go to walk, and the worm jumps, often to its death. You go to jump, and it walks. It's impossible to know which its going to do, making it extremely frustrating and pointless because half the time you're too scared to move in case it does the wrong action. It's all very unfortunate because otherwise it's a fun and addictive game. The creases just aren't ironed out for the phone version..Version: 1.21

✓ Buggy as hellI’ve been a worms fan since a child. Love this game, loads of fun and spending hours on it. Just one problem! Buggy as hell!! Level 17 in the campaign does not let me walk left. No matter what I try, I cannot turn left. Jump left. Aim left. I Restarted the game, Nothing. So it’s left me with no option to stop the campaign and play single player. It’s a shame as I’m a worms fan. Controls ain’t great but it doesn’t stop you from playing it and definitely doesn’t stop you from aiming. ✓ Pretty sloppy effortWhen you compare to the polish of the original PC games, this is pretty diasapointing really. Buggy as hell. The online turn by turn is always messing up and I have to send a text message every time to invite my friend. The graphics are poor and pixelated in places. The stripped down weapons and gameplay make 90% of the game about jet packs and dynamite. The whole fun of worms is creatively selecting from a range of effective weapons. Half of them are un-usable.
