✓ Please make this Apple Car Play compatible like some others!!!I’ve been using Scanner Radio (orange icon with grey radio) because that app shows up for Apple Car Play, but this app has so many more feeds! And what I’m trying to listen to isn’t always a feed option on Scanner Radio. Usually I will quickly pull up the app on Apple Car Play when I see a lot of emergency vehicles fly down the road, but I can’t with this app because there’s no Car Play compatibility! I don’t want to have to reach for my phone and pull up an app and scroll through while I’m driving. It’s a deal breaker for me. A sad one. :( P L E A S E MAKE THIS APPLE CAR PLAY COMPATIBLE! ✓ I Like The Idea Of This AppI wish I could leave a better review. As it is , I may at some point either upgrade to the paid version, or find another app. The ads on the free version are horrible. Absolutely oppressive. It’s like being back in 1998 when pop ups were everywhere. It’s really hard most of the time to figure out how to close them before being taken to some full page mess. It would be one thing if they showed up before you start listening. But these are constant. And so, I very rarely find myself using this product. It’s a shame because it seems otherwise well put together. Unfortunately, the way it is, I can’t even think of leaving a higher rating. I added a star only because it’s free..Version: 50.9
✓ Very good but app also can be frustrating too!Not the fault of the app itself but ts very frustrating that when something really interesting is happening on a channel that the Police then switch to a City Wide channel which cannot be picked up on this app. Was loving it until tonight but basically it seems that only mundane things such as a drone flying over the river, someone locked in a car park etc can be broadcast on this app, before the police switch to a more secretive channel, which has killed my interest in it unfortunately..Version: 46.0
✓ Ads are out of controlI completely understand that there are going to be ads in any free version of an app, but this scanner has the longest ads, that interfere with the use of the app in the first place. I often open this app because there’s sirens nearby, and I want to see what is going on, but the fact that the ads pop up almost immediately, after opening the app, and then run anywhere from one to three minutes, by the time the ad finally closes, whatever radio chatter was going on you have now missed. I know the ads are necessary for the free version, but definitely think that you should be able to have the app open for a couple of minutes prior to your first ad popping up, and they should be quick 10 to 15 second ads, not 60+ seconds long..Version: 56.0.0

✓ Ads won’t closeI have had this app for years and always liked it. I haven’t used it in a while until today. It didn’t save my favorites from before so I went to browse to add then again. I could add one or two and then an ad would pop up which is expected in the free edition. But as I was going back and forth adding favorites, each ad would run a little longer every time I went back to browse. They were running for up to 5 minutes before allowing me to close them. Then the next time I went to browse some Super Cleaner ad popped up and it would not close at all. I waited for more than 10 minutes. I closed 5 0 Radio and opened it a minute later and the same ad was still there and there was no way to go back to 5 0 Radio. At hey point I came here to write this review. It’s obvious the developer is trying to force users to buy the paid version by these tactics. I tried the app on my other phone and it the ads started getting longer and longer. I’m going to file a complaint with Apple and see if that helps. I’ve never seen ads in any other app that made u wait more than 30 seconds before allowing you to go back to the app..Version: 51.0.1

✓ Love it but disappointment in issueHave used this app for years and absolutely appreciated what you did for the app being quite an active developer. I also enjoyed your Reddit comments as they were often informative and your pic would give me some familiarity. Anyhow - Somehow downloaded a Pro version I didn’t even know existed and thought you had just began charging for this app which was fair enough and clicked along for some trial or something but then was debited $50 something when had only about $60 to my name. Have tried to report an issue to Apple to have it refunded but it wasn’t accepted… I’m usually quite vigilant about charges and in app charges so I’m pretty disappointed in however this happened plz make it less easy to happen for others in future. ✓ Is $3.99 in-app purchase ACTUALLY available??The prices for purchase are inconsistent. In the App Store, the free- version lists the in-app purchase of 5-0 Radio Pro Police Scanner as $3.99. In the app itself, the upgrade for ‘More Features/Feeds/No Ads’ took me to the 5-0 Radio Pro Police Scanner app in the App Store and wanted $4.99. Of note: the free and pro versions are listed as separate apps. Since the app doesn’t offer a way to contact the developer, I’m leaving a review here. I was considering purchasing because the ads are a huge drawback and discourage me from using the free version. For example, the ads don’t pop up consistently, sometimes they display when opening the app before selecting a feed or changing to a different feed and sometimes they don’t. Additionally, if the feeds are quiet and one turns up the volume, the ads are quite loud. Perhaps it was designed this way to persuade purchasing the app..Version: 42.4

✓ Quality and Informative for freeI will admit I hunted through play store for awhile till I found this one and it actually works! I live in A really high Crime low Police city that has an insane amount of murder shootings stabbings fire the whole 9yrds. So actually being able to be tunned in on the crime and to watch my back is a HUUGGEE RELIEF. Shot Out to all the Men Woman and just Officers in General that put their lives on the line just to make sure the citizens of the USA safe. THE ONLY DOWN SIDE about the app is the amount of ads and how pop-up-ie they are and you can easily click on spam. Otherwise I would give it 5 Stars. ✓ Doesn’t work like it used toThis app has gone to crap. It used to work fine. You’d open the app and choose the scanner you want and watch a quick ad and then move onto the scanner you’ve chosen. It would play the radio traffic you’ve chosen. Now you do all the same, but you have to watch multiple ads and if you are lucky the scanner will work. It usually doesn’t. You usually have to fiddle with it and you are forced to watch a couple ads, then fiddle with it more, then watch more ads, then fiddle with it more, then watch more ads. Then after a few times of doing that, if you are lucky, the scanner works. But by then, you’ve been screwing around so long, you’ve missed the info that was broadcast that you were tuning in to hear. So it’s pointless. Way to screw up a good app. This app is almost useless now. I’d recommend people find a better app. I hope I find a better one..Version: 49.0

✓ Garbage ad proxyNot enough toilet paper in the world to wipe this mess of an ad server hiding as an app. To be clear, this like all other “scanner” apps are just rebroadcasting web feeds of scanners that other people maintain for free. These volunteers maintain their own radio scanners and broadcast them onto the web. This app simply compiles them all into a nice easy to use interface. Fine. That’s actually useful. But the non stop ads that are so irrelevant and impossible to close. Ads for casinos and for other games that appear to be meant for pre teen girls to learn how to “make boys like them”. Learn your target market and stop forcing middle aged men and women who want to listen to train and ambulance frequencies to click on ads for apps that are morally corrupt just to earn some money. I don’t recommend this spam app to anyone even though it, at times, does feed the correct stream..Version: 49.0

✓ Great, but THE ADS ARE KILLING ME!!The app functionality does what it’s expected to do, but when launching the app, every time, ads pop up over the screen and aren’t dismissible until they time out. The most recent ad was 15 seconds long before the cancel button was enabled! The problem is that the ads have audio, which takes over so I can’t hear the scanner audio. I only launch the app when the siren goes off in my town, and as soon as I start the scanner feed I want to hear, the ads pop up and take over, typically resulting in my missing what the call is about because I have to wait so long for the ad’s timer to expire to be able to dismiss it. 3 seconds is tolerable, 5 seconds is pushing it, but 15 seconds has made this app dead to me..Version: 47.0

✓ GarbageI downloaded this app years and years ago. It used to be great...fast, responsive, reliable, and minimal ads. Now? The app is absolute garbage. Every single time you open a feed, a totally irrelevant, loud, useless ad takes up the whole screen. Often, you can’t find the exit button to close the ad, and frequently this causes you to miss important audio. Want to switch feeds? More ads! Listening to an event or a feed for an extended period of time? Watch and wait as it silently pauses the feed every 8 minutes and 52 seconds on the dot. I, along with many other first responders, use this app to get vital radio traffic, and it just isn’t reliable enough for that anymore. This ad merely pulls audio feeds from Broadcastify, if you’re going to pay for a premium source, why pay this developer who has sold out when you could just pay the source? This app asked me to write a review for years, so here it finally is. 0 out of 5 stars, get something else..Version: 42.4

✓ USED to be the best police scanner app……but the ads have gotten ridiculous. They are not only irrelevant (usually advertising stupid games), but they are LOUD and they actually blare over the scanner so you cannot hear what is being reported. Just tonight after hearing sirens nearby, I turned on the app to see if I could hear what was going on and could only hear three words before an obnoxious ad came blaring on over what I was trying to listen to and I couldn’t hear a word. They are impossible to “x” out of, so you are stuck listening to the whole thing and by the time you are able to close it, you missed the information that you wanted to hear in the first place. ✓ The ads are killing thisI switched to this app from the scanner deluxe app and after some recent updates I’m regretting it. The main reason I switched is that the other app would blast you with a full page unskippable ad that was full volume. Well what the fudge is the point of having a scanner app when you can’t even listen for the call you opened the app for? ✓ No Longer FeasibleWhen first downloaded years ago it worked ok, with only one channel available for three different entities in my area. You could only hear one of them at a time, obviously, but it gave no option to prioritize which one you would like on top. That hindered the ability to follow a major important event going on because of interruptions from the other entities not involved or related to it. Now it is pretty much useless as all the entities have switched over to a different more secure radio system. This app is up to date and it does not pick up any traffic. Its time lapse counter never activates even after tapping the play arrow again, confirming that it has no access to the area trying to be monitored..Version: 41.1

Disappointed but great way to get people to spend the $5 to go ad-free I suppose. Either that or test other scanners apps to see if there is a better value for $5. ✓ Had this app for years now.So let's begin with it works most of the time, but not the times some people would really need it to. For instance to help save some lives of the people the were unconscious after a roll over which had landed them in the river just putting their unconscious heads out of reach of rising waters. Sure I might have made it if I wasn't fiddling with getting my iPad app to give me a mile marker point through the pending ads that restrict you from listening or if it simply just does not want you to hear so the man at the other end pushes the stop button as you press play over and over. ✓ TimingBeen using this app for a few months give or take. I work for my local Sheriff’s Office, and decided I would get this as it would be an alternative to a handheld portable scanner since they can cost upwards of $500. Only recently did I notice that the radio traffic is not in real time. It’s a recording of past transmissions. (My colleagues and I tested this hypothesis.) We would sit in different stations of the facility and listen to the facility radio, and the 5-0 Scanner app. The transmissions in the app are days or even weeks after they’ve been made over local traffic. While I understand the concerns of listening to radio traffic in real time, the app developers could at least put a small warning that the transmissions are not from the same day, let alone in sync. Overall, I’ll rate this app 3 stars as it is handy to give to the new recruits to test their knowledge on the 10-codes. [We’ll sit there and listen to the local traffic through the 5-0 scanner app as we don’t have the time to try and quiz newbies on the traffic with the facility radios. When something relating to us comes across, we have to act.].Version: 50.1
