✓ Had app for many years and doesn’t work most of the time.Due to owning the book I download and paid for this app as well as the urban survival app so I would have a digital version to keep on my phone. I originally purchased the survival app a few years back and it worked fine for about a year. Unfortunately either due to an update or just bad coding the app continually crashes and will not load and takes me back to my phones home screen. Several times I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling both the survival and urban survival apps and neither work and are absolutely useless. BUY THE BOOK and don’t waste your time with these apps..Version: 2.8

✓ The Wrong Information On Tornadoes!I'm from Oklahoma, and can tell you just about anything you need to know about a tornado, what with the highly informed weather forecasters in this state and what I've learned. Statistic and safety information is incorrect, and I've already wrote him to change it once, and they haven't done it in a new update yet. He says that the winds are way over 300mph (385), and the highest recorded wind speed thus far is 318mph. He says to open your windows to equalize the pressure. WRONG!! Do not stand in front of glass. The debris will open the window for you, you loose precious time, and the equalization of air pressure has been proven to be a myth by numerous sources. Also STAY IN YOUR CAR if you are caught out on the road...this information has been changed by the American Red Cross recently for safety concerns due to death and injury statistics, and the fact that you are shielded from debris (duck below car windows). Also heard Dr. Greg Forbes on the Weather Channel mention the car thing just the other day. He is the one who came up with the TORCON index (your chance of seeing a tornado within 50 miles of you on a particular day), and is a severe weather expert who trained under Dr. Fajita, who invented the FSCALE we still use to this day. This is an excellent application however, and should be heeded after certain parts are UPDATED and CURRENT for the year of 2010. Then a definite 5 stars..Version: 0

✓ Needs improvements ASAPThis is a superb application for everything that you need to know in case of an emergency and also just general knowledge about things that will come handy. The reason why I have given this app three stars is the whole design and UI needs updating to take full advantage of the latest iPhones display as it’s currently stuck in the past which is a big shame as this has so much potential. Other then the application been stuck with no update to the UI it’s a fantastic application jam-packed with so much information and other life-saving tips and tools 🛠 well worth the purchase and taking time in reading what could save your life if you ever in that situation which I hope you never will be..Version: 2.4

✓ Once great AppPlease note that all of the high rated reviews for this app were from earlier versions many years ago. This was when the app worked offline without the need for a ‘Facebook’ login! It was once a fantastic self contained reference for survival information. No doubt that information is still there, but it is useless to you if you need WiFi or mobile service to access it. ✓ SatisfactoryThis app offers comprehensive assessment of enough scenarios that it seems omniscient. Its inclusion of video in this format makes it easier to absorb info. Although, the ability to view these grainy videos (and photographs) in landscape mode should have been a no-brainer. In addition, I can understand the need for marketing, but I do not appreciate apps that market purchased items. Apps can be programmed to verify the existence of other apps on a device. All in all, I recommend this product as a good accompaniment to the book. BTW, In-App Purchases add value inside the app. Purchase is made inside the app for this to happen. In other words, additional features for the app are sold inside the app. Links to another app to buy a third app do not qualify as an In-App Purchase. The links are just part of an advertisement. And I did not see notice of In-App Advertisement (propaganda)..Version: 1.7

✓ What went wrong?When I first downloaded this a couple of years back it was great, it was stored on your phone and you could access it when you didn't have a connection. Now it has been updated it looks for a connection and just hangs when it can't find one. ✓ Completely hostile to survivalI'd bought this app a while ago and opened and read it a few times. Last week I was in a survival situation — stranded in a desert without cell service — and I opened this app. What do I see? "Please connect to internet for the first time use to see the content." Are you kidding me? (1) It was not my first time use, I had opened it before — I assume a recent update has caused the app to act like it was a new install, which is sloppiness on the developers' part. (2) I WAS STRANDED IN A DESERT AND NEEDED HELP, and could not connect to the Internet to get past this screen! That the developers would put unnecessary DRM over survival is a refutation of this app's stated purpose. Deplorable and deserving of nothing other than complete scorn in my opinion.
