Progressive Alarm Clock for Negative User Reviews

No separate volume adjustI was disappointed there is no separate volume adjustment it can be changed by music volume after you set the alarm..Version: 5.2.1

Can't set alarm past 12:59pmIt's a little ridiculous that you can't set this alarm past 12:59pm. An obvious design flaw when it comes to those of us who enjoy afternoon naps or differently scheduled sleep cycles..Version: 5.2.1

So What's Up With This?So fed up with so few options when I'm woken by crazy jolting alarms that set my heart racing right at the start of the day... I can't seem to get it right... so I went for this... nice and calming - great idea... Well, I had to catch a flight which meant getting up at 4am. Just as well I set a backup alarm on my iPhone.... coz this one didn't go off! Had I not gone for a backup option I would certainly have missed my flight, and aside from the £6 I have shelled out for this software, I would have been looking at £1000s of business loss on top. I'm a freelance show producer - and I can't afford to sleep in. I would say reliability of the software to actually work is a little higher priority than what sounds it makes. DO NOT rely on this. I have no idea why it didn't trigger - I tested it first and it worked fine in the evening... but leaving it overnight - with the phone on 'sleep' (moon) mode, but the volume on full etc etc - did not trigger. Really unhappy with this! Grrrr!.Version: 5.2.1

Battery DrainUsed 34% battery overnight, which is definitely not cool..Version: 5.2.1

Some annoying issuesI used to love this alarm clock but there are some seriously annoying issues that can hopefully be fixed. When it first goes off, there’s a slow build which gradually wakes you up. I like to hit snooze a few times before I get up. But after you hit Snooze, the second alarm doesn’t do the gradual buildup and is on FULL volume. Secondly if you have a noise background enabled, it stops after you hit snooze, which is annoying because it makes you wonder if it’s going to sound an alarm a second time to wake you up. After you hit snooze the background noise shouldn’t change. Third, and, maybe this can’t be fixed but you can’t snooze unless you open the app. I want to be able to reach over like a regular alarm clock and hit snooze, not sit up and open the app. Please Fix!!.Version: 5.2.1

Wow dont waist your moneyI tried for 4 morning and only one time it worked and they other i had to put a safety alarm to wake me up. It never worked.Version: 5.2.1

Volume problemsMucks around with master volume of device, even when you don’t touch the volume. Uninstalled..Version: 5.2.1

Wish I knew you have to the alarm every timeI love the idea but hate I have to remember to set it every night. The developer said there's no way to program it automatically goes off every day at the same time like my Clock app alarm does. I got so used to Clock app where it automatically resets for the next day. With Clock app if you can get a set an alarm MP3 or to gradually chimes louder and louder for 20 minutes you can set that as your alarm. I'm not sure such an MP3 exists but it shouldn't be hard for someone to make it, I'd pay for it even like $1..Version: 5.2.1

Good but some faultsThe app is glitchy sometimes. I’ll open it and the words and images will be tiny and crammed on one side of the screen with most of the screen black. You can’t manipulate any of the settings when it does this. I’ve had to close it and restart the phone to get this to go away. This happens one in three times I use the app. Most recently it effected the ability for the alarm to turn on at the time the app was set for. Fortunately I have a backup traditional cell alarm. You cannot play the alarm if the app is closed out. You also need to set it every day. It would be nice if you could set it and leave it, but you cannot. I wouldn’t use this app at all if I could find another quiet start option..Version: 5.2.1

Great alarmA pleasant, gentle alarm. 3 start only because there has been a number of times I slept in because you have to 'set alarm' and then 'start alarm'. Could you make a single button for both like in the native iPhone alarm, please?.Version: 4.1.1

No automatic setThe alarm works perfectly well but you have to set it anew every day like an old fashioned alarm clock. I've read the app over and over to find some automatic reset but there is nothing..Version: 5.1.3

Missing basic featuresI think it should have multiple alarms, the ability to repeat an alarm on specify days, and a timer..Version: 5.2.1

Requires DevelopmentIf the iPhone is in silent mode the alarm doesn’t override and chime. App has to be left open in background to work, so if you accidentally close it while closing all open apps, as many of us do, the alarm is cancelled. No functionality to preset alarms for the week. (ie weekdays chime at ... weekends chime at ...) Has the makings of a decent alarm but at the minute it’s god awful, and I’m amazed it’s a paid app..Version: 5.2.1

So SoIts basically the only option for a progressive alarm clock, so I give it a few stars for existing. But I wish it had more than just the buddah bell sounds and didn't eat the battery by technically being a countdown timer..Version: 5.2.1

Randomly not workingI have used this app for years, I understand how it works and what the settings do. In the last two months it has failed me five times, I wake up well after my alarm time and there is no bell, nothing. The alarm will always say that it is set for 23 hours and however many minutes I overslept. I am not sure how, but it appears that instead of the alarm activating, it just resets to the next day. I have uninstalled the app, I have restarted my phone, done both several times, not sure what is going on, but after this morning I can’t trust the alarm. It is a real shame too, I like how it functions, but what good is it if it won’t go off at the specified time?.Version: 5.2.1

Suddenly eating up batteryI have used this alarm clock for a while and really liked it, but last night it ate up almost all my battery during the night. My phone went from a charge of 82% to 18% and according to battery use information in settings, background activity from this app seems to be the cause. I have never noticed this in previous versions, so this might be a bug with the latest update. I don't think I will be using it again..Version: 5.2.1

Lovely way to wake upThis is, by far, my favourite way to have an "alarm" wake me up. Very gentle, so much nicer than being jarred awake! I'm only giving three stars though because I live in fear of forgetting to set it. If there was the option to set a recurring alarm (preferably with a weekdays only option!) I would definitely give this app 5 stars..Version: 3.3.1

TerribleYou pay good money for an app and it doesn’t work, incredibly difficult to set the alarm as it does not set regardless how many times you follow the instructions. Every now and then it will set and works great but that’s very rare, I’m just disgusted with this app and insulted they demand money for an alarm that just won’t consistently work..Version: 5.2.1

SomeGreat features but limitedReally wish you could customise the time to you’re preference. Or add a longer sequence that wakes you up slowly over the space of an hour. Adding a light feature that starts off very dim and gets lighter at intervals would also be a useful feature.Version: 5.2.1

Loved this app, but now it Hass to be reinstalled about once a weekThis is my favorite alarm clock app, and I’ve used it for years. But for the last few months, it just stops functioning about once a week— when I touch the app on my phone screen, it disappears –-and I have to delete and reinstall it in order to set it for the next morning. I don’t see a way to directly contact the developers, so I hope they’ll see this and fix the problem. If so, I will be happy to revise my review and rating. ..Version: 5.2.1

Still too much battery consumptionAn excellent alarm clock, but drains phone battery overnight if not plugged in. There has to be a better way..Version: 5.2.1

Alarm at the end is awfulThis would be a 5 star review hands down but the alarm at the end is awful. If you have a heart condition, anxiety or ptsd it will trigger your fight or flight. It even startled my dog. I do not see a way to change this so I guess we are stuck with it? Please for the love of god, there are plenty of less Annoying sounds you could use for the alarm at the end and I’d use this every day if I could not have to listen to it.Version: 5.2.1

Nice, but uses too much batteryI do like the escalating volume and waking up to the bell tones. I have a habit of closing my apps at night and it took some training to remember not to close this one (the alarm with the phone still works when it's closed). I am disappointed in the battery usage. I start the day with a low 90% charge due to this app. I haven't stopped using it yet, but I'll continue to consider other options..Version: 5.2.1

Doesn’t really work for me.I really like the beautiful sounds and the fact that the volume increases gradually at a rhythmn which you can preset. But I hadn’t thought about the limitations of it not being a native iPhone app: In order to use the ‘Snooze’ function you first have to unlock your phone (assuming it has a passcode set, as most people do). If I’m awake enough to do that, I don’t need an alarm in the first place. Also the ‘Snooze’ and ‘Stop’ buttons are both onscreen buttons. If you’re fumbling for the phone in a half-awake state, it’s not hard to hit ‘Stop’ instead of ‘Snooze’, and turn the alarm off entirely..Version: 5.2.1

I wish it workedDoesn’t work on my phone. I set it, go to sleep and then i sleep in. Dosent work. Very upsetting. Using iphone 8..Version: 5.2.1

Great wake up but drains batteryVery nice to wake up to but really wish it wasn’t such a drain on my phone battery. Might have to stop using it because i need to plug my phone in at night if I want to use it..Version: 5.2.1

Became unreliableI loved this alarm clock come but recently it just doesn’t work. Don’t know why but it stopped waking me up in the morning. Two nights in a row, I know I started it but it never went off. Update , I don’t use the alarm every day but still have noticed that it turns off sometimes when I think I have set it. I like the chimes but an alarm needs to work every time !.Version: 5.2.1

Let me use my own music! If this was free, I wouldn’t complain. I red somewhere that I could choose my own music with this app - I erred..Version: 5.2.1

Beautiful chimes.A gentle way to wake. Simple to use interface. Far better than a jarring alarm. Works in the background or with the phone in sleep mode. Many alarms don't provide this basic requirement. One thing missing: repeat alarm for the whole week with separate weekend times. Hey, Mr/Mrs Developer, any chance you can add this. Five stars if you do. Otherwise a good app. Cheers......Version: 5.1.3

ScamImpossible de programmer l’alarme...décevant..Version: 5.2.1

Turns offThis started out as a great alarm clock, as the sound is lovely, and I can actually adjust the volume to be not very loud. That sounds rather basic, but on an iPhone, finding an alarm clock that isn’t connected to the general volume on the phone is a hard task. Also, it seems to be the theme these days that super loud is good. Anyway, the problem with Alarm Clock is that it doesn’t have a schedule so you have to start at each day. Also, it takes the volume down to zero each time. So, if you don’t check the volume, you probably won’t hear your alarm as it is so low. That all means that each day you have to turn on the alarm clock, check the volume and then I hope that you did it correctly..Version: 5.2.1
