ZINIO - Magazine Newsstand for Positive User Reviews

Used to Be Great. . . But Now. . .Zinio is adequate as a place holder for the 5 or 6 subscriptions I currently have through this app. In that respect Zinio is better than having paper pile up in my house and then have to be recycled. However, for account questions and management, Zinio could not be any worse than it already is. Not only is is cumbersome or impossible to make account changes easily, but also if you DO manage, after MUCH difficulty, to connect with a so-called service rep (possible only online, not by phone), he or she has very limited skills to override any Zinio deficiencies. As just one example, I want to stop all my automatic sub renewals, but there is no easy, obvious way to do that. Zinio was GREAT when it started—intuitive and easy. Now, after perhaps an AI robot got involved, it is an impenetrable nightmare for account changes..Version: 4.17.0

Great magazine selectionApp is average to mediocre.Version: 3.4.6

It just worksI had a e subscription on an other system and I tried multiple times with assistance from their help desk to download and only managed a couple of times to get my magazine, I finally just gave up it wasn’t worth the effort. I then signed up with ZINIO and it works perfectly every month..Version: 4.32.0

ZINCO - smart magazine newsstand 👍🏻💥👍🏻Fantabulous access to a wide range of world magazines - reliable & user friendly..Version: 4.5.4

GlitchyAlthough generally this app and service is great recently the application loses the page too often which needs double tapping and choosing the page again at the scrolling thumbnails at the bottom of the screen, this can become unbearable. It happens several times a minute sometimes, hopefully this gets sorted in an update soon..Version: 4.12.2

VariousAll of the magazines that I read on ZINIO are easily accessed and download quickly. Any issues I’ve had have been dealt with very quickly by the best tech department that I have ever dealt with. Fantastic app, fantastic service..Version: 4.34.1

Auto Express on line versionI have continued to get this superb magazine on line for my iPad . As a weekly publication it keeps all petrol heads completely up to date, even in these weird times. I have even now taken to listen to the podcast, great value all round !.Version: 4.34.1

Very HappyPerfect app for reading my Magazine online or offline. Love that I can zoom in to see more detail in drawings & paintings than I would with a hard copy. Pleased I can change orientation for one page viewing. Useful visual page index to pull/tap up, which helps me return directly to a favourite article. Websites in magazine can be instantly viewed when connected to Wi-Fi. Email notification prompts me to download my latest mag edition, but it appears in app automatically, too. No more damp boxes of magazines to store in the loft! Great app - thank you :).Version: 3.4.6

Zinio Digital Magazine.Hi there. This would have to easily be one of the best apps available. Not only that, but it has been made for almost every platform available. Zinio allows itself to download your publications on multiple platforms and I am no longer bored with nothing to do. The only thing needed to be improved, is all publications need to be made available for each different reading platform. If that was achieved, Zinio would become the perfect app and this is why. I have given Zinio a four star rating. Regards Parakiwi..Version: 2.2.6

This is what a magazine app should be like. PERFECT.I love this app have tried others and nothing rates as good as this one. Perfect app. Feel like it's easy to organise and love layout. As long as no updates come along to change the platform I will stay forever and shop shop shop. 5 stars for me out of 5 :).Version: 3.4.6

Fast, friendly and comprehensiveWhy buy or subscribe to printed magazines when a sustainable, instant service is available? Zinio is the e-magazine Apple should have bought...it's far superior to Newsstand. I have downloaded magazines from both and the only discernible advantage of Newsstand is a very slight increase in resolution of images in Newsstand, but that is at considerable sacrifice in speed of downloads. No long waits; you can begin reading the first few pages while the rest downloads. The interface is simple and efficient, in most magazines, selecting a text-only version of the page enables distraction-free reading. You can preview sample pages of much of their inventory for free, so you can try before you buy, and Zinio is often cheaper, but for us in Australia, government duties kick in which make magazine purchase more expensive proportionally than elsewhere. My local public library enables free access to Zinio editions to try out...an excellent service! The range of magazines is enormous; I highly recommend this over other e-magazine providers..Version: 3.4.6

Wonderful for library magazines and partially sighted readers! My local online library (Heryfordshire) uses this to borrow, download and read magazines. Once I have negotiated the library software, this is a wonderful way for me to get access to many magazines. It is free, I can download the issues onto my ipad so I can read them without having to visit the library or be in a wi-fi area, and best of all I can enlarge the print so I can actually read them. (I am partially sighted so I need a big font size.) Magic!.Version: 3.4.6

Terrible customer care and app upgrade bugsI wish I could upload the lengthy email customer care sent me when a magazine purchase failed to load in my app. Purchase made on the app and of course like all apple purchases, through apple. Zinio now tells me stories when I had previously purchased subscriptions using this same method. Zinio if you’re serious please and please let me have my subscription because I’ve seen that there is no refund. You can’t send me to keep asking apple for something that should be from your end.Version: 4.14.0

Simple and practicalZino is a simple app with no glitch that let you carry your all library of magasine with you anywere..Version: 4.34.1

Irritating! Sometimes when you turn the page it jumps back to the front page!!!It happens almost every time I read a magazine. Any magazine. You turn to the next page and it would jump back to a few pages back! Sometimes it goes back to the first page! I wonder if Zinio is aware of this issue??? Otherwise I love using it when I am travelling. Sang.Version: 3.4.6

All in oneConvenient, easy to use. Been using this app for years!.Version: 4.54.3

Ruined the app completely with latest updateWhat used to be a functional app is now irritating and even slower on my older iPad than before. I use Zinio for cooking magazines, so being able to use it on my old iPad 2 used to be a great convenience in the kitchen, but now it’s as slow as treacle. Gone is the useful year and month browser, replaced with a straight list of issues instead. No more finding monthly issues of previous years, now I have to scroll either a huge list or title by title. Sorting doesn’t help much either. Bring back the old app! 😢.Version: 4.5.0

Downhill after updateThis used to be the best magazine reader available. But since recent updates the magazines donot appear after checking them out via the email. Even hours later they do not appear in Zinio. The only way to get the latest check-outs is to re-instal the app. Don’t want to be doing this every time..Version: 4.6.0

ReviewSo convenient having everything in one place and nothing arrives wet or crumpled. Just wish they could get the magazines out the same time as they are on the news stands. Great app.Version: 3.4.6

Magazines Anytime, Anywhere! This is probably one of the most used apps on my iPad. I love the fact that I can have a stack of magazines, from all round the world, with me where ever I go & my husband loves that my magazines are piling up in the living room. Brilliant on holidays & long trips, I don't have to drag a bag of reading material with me. If only I could pin to Pinterest from it & then it would be perfect..Version: 3.4.6

Pretty OK/ Love ItSo far (1yr user) this app seems to be very good. I like being able to delete issues of mags that I'm not currently reading so they aren't just sitting there taking up space on my iPad. However, recently I've been noticing a degrading of the print/type quality; such as being fuzzy or blurred. Most of the time I am able to get that to clear up by closing the magazine & then re-opening. New review as of Dec 19,2016 - I love Zinio. It just works. Nothing complicated. If I can get a magazine that I like on Zinio then that's the way I will always subscribe. It saves paper/trees, gets rid of the clutter problem in my house (I save all my back issues), & can download several issues to read when traveling & may not have internet access. Also how slick is it to be able to carry around 5-10 magazines on one little lightweight iPad. This is just the BEST..Version: 3.4.6

Terrible support and difficult to navigateThis is good app if everything is working and all you do is flip through mags. The minute you need to do something beyond that, say update your email address, review your subscriptions etc. it goes into meltdown. Support is by email and not really helpful, menu is illogical both on website and app so takes lots of time without really getting anywhere..Version: 4.32.0

Environmentally friendly way to read magazine.I read quite a few magazines and newspapers, and when it comes to cleaning up the bookshelves and tidying the stacks of outdated magazines, it has always been a headache. Do I keep them or do I throw them away as they were piling up like a little mountain. With zinio, I can carry virtually the whole library with me and it cost almost ten times less than what I would pay for a paper magazine. With this, I can show my co workers or friends interesting articles virtually anytime and anywhere, and who knows which article or product I would talk about with them over a cup of coffee or tea? I find this one of the greatest invention (of course iPad deserves the credit) but this feature alone is worth the price of ipad itself, imagine the costs savings of buying magazines!.Version: 2.2.1

Just brilliantI love this app and use it to read many magazines. I use a large iPad Pro, so the image size really approximates to a real page. The image quality is excellent. Highly recommended..Version: 4.34.1

ZinioVery good app, easy to use, occasionally jumps back a page when expanding the display but this is a minor quibble. Some reviews mention receiving unwanted feature articles; I don't seem to have this problem though..Version: 3.4.6

A great way to read magazinesZinio is a great way to read magazines - it doesn't make them wonderfully interactive, but does make them highly portable! Australian magazines aren't much cheaper then print versions but USA mags in particular seem far cheaper than print subscriptions..Version: 3.4.6

Great, but not as great as it used to be!This app is great for accessing magazines from around the world. My only complaint is that they used to throw you a freebie every now and again which would get you to try new magazines. If they still did that it'd be five stars for sure..Version: 3.4.6

I absolutely HATE the new version!Zinio was my saviour. I absolutely loved this app. Could not wait for Monday mornings for my weekly magazines to ‘turn up’. Soon as I clicked on the app my magazines were right there to read instantly and I could see immediately the new ones to download. It was fast and convenient. Unfortunately, my positive Zinio experience disappeared into thin air with the new version. My magazines stacks are no longer my landing page. I have to go trough the shop or home page to press ‘read’ every single time. Plus I have to wait my library to sync again every single time .. I lost all my downloaded magazines. It is annoying enough to download my already downloaded mags again but it also takes foreeeevvveeeer. The bright white background is terribly taxing on the eyes. I thought releasing new versions are about improvements! Where is it??.? If you can’t improve don’t make it worse..Version: 4.5.3

Brilliant, just brilliant. All my magazines in one place. Can't fault it. Have been using for a few years now. Works faultlessly, with email notifications telling you that your new magazine has arrived..Version: 3.4.6

Works well for meZinio works well for me - lets me get on with reading my magazines without getting in the way, easy to use etc. Great to have notifications when the mags are available.Version: 3.4.6

ZinioExcellent site. User friendly and love the magazines..Version: 3.4.6

Great until the latest updateAnnoyed with the latest updates to the app. The app NEEDS the option to open in the "read" pane by default, instead of the "shop" pane/view. The app seems quicker to load mags. If you had a "read offline" collection, the update deleted it. I'm not going to bother reloading any except some of the latest releases. The update coincided with a ZINIO server planned maintenance outage - an advance email would have been helpful. Love the app though, so have to live with the occasional/rare outage. March 21: Unable to see new mags in the library view. WARNING: if you re-download your mags, DON'T logout - your downloads will be wiped!! from the device. March 22: Mags not in the library can be opened in shop view, after a lot of clicks to get to it. The app is more prone to crashing while reading mags in "shop". Will it work better on a newer(and faster) iPad? Mine is just an iPad 4 from 2012. March 23: Mags no longer missing from library. Support suggested deleting the app and then reinstalling. That seems to have fixed the missing Mags issue. You'll loose any downloads, but that's a feature of updating to the new version anyway..Version: 4.5.3

Cool appAll my favourite magazines in one place.Version: 3.4.6

Great alternative to the paper mountainI have a problem: I love words, and I have a terrible time parting with books and magazines. "But it has something really interesting in it! I can't recycle that one!" Now Zinio has come along and promises to keep all my back issues, makes the new issues available immediately (no more waiting for the postman), and allows me to access them wherever I am. As I write this, I'm setting up a new device. In moments, the back issues of magazines that interest me will have downloaded and be ready to read. In short: it just works..Version: 3.4.6

Garbage supportOk, support solved my problem. It took much coordination between the magazine publisher and ZINIO. I’m sure the issue was due to transition from a publisher app, the subscription itself, and transferring that subscription from publisher to ZINIO. This shouldn’t have required the amount of personal effort to solve. They seem to have decided to not support customers whose digital subscription was forcibly transferred from another digital subscription app. Their support seems totally dependent in information unavailable to the poor subscriber of previously good companies who mistakenly fell for their sales pitch. They admit on their website that some features they used to support no longer work, so you no longer have access to issues you have rightfully own and should have access to. If you are considering getting a subscription from these people, find another way.!.Version: 4.12.2

Best electronic magazine supplierEasy to subscribe and easy to read. The ZINIO app gets better all the time. I love Zinio, they offer some of the best magazines at a good price, the app keeps track and makes it easy to manage all my subscriptions..Version: 4.10.0

Excellent app but a minor flaw remainsI love this app and use it a lot. I often travel to out of the way places and it's great to get my magazines as son as they're released. It also great to be able to get the magazines at country-of-origin prices. My only little gripe is that when I am viewing a page that I have enlarged for easier reading, the vertical scroll (by swiping up or down with one finger) often seems to get 'stuck', especially when I make the swipe on the right hand side of the screen (which I choose because I am right-handed). This happens both when I am viewing my iPad in portrait mode and when I am viewing in landscape mode. To 'unstick' a page when it is stuck like this, I have to slightly move the page horizontally, or slightly adjust the zoom by pinching or reverse-pinching. Once I have done one of these manuoevers the page is then free to move vertically again. This is no big deal deal, but it would be nice to see it fixed..Version: 2.2.1

Minor UI AnnoyanceLove the app overall, but there's one UI annoyance that can easily be fixed. When reading magazines that have the text-version option for their pages, the "text" button always is visible on the magazine page, obscuring text or content behind it, when I'm just wanting to read the full page as-printed. Please show the full page without the text button, and make the text button appear with the rest of the menu once we tap in the middle of the page. Thanks for listening!.Version: 3.4.6

SkyeBluZinio used to crash a lot, but I am now using an I pod pro and it now work well. Being able to read all my magazines as if they were paper with no storage issues is great..Version: 3.4.6

Good, but did not retain previous downloadsThe magazine reader is very good. New titles appear as icons showing they are ready to download, and can be read when downloading. I would have liked an option to start in the reader view, however, if you leave the app running this is not an issue. I hope ZINIO might try to avoid clearing all content when updating this version. Nice app and support is very good..Version: 4.10.0

I love ZINIOI look forward to my flock of magazines that drop down at the first of the month, of course I have my favorites and I read them first, but then hurry along to all of them. Particularly in this pandemic when we are not going out in to the community this is a real pleasure you can give yourself..Version: 4.34.1

Was a 5 star app until last week.I have used Zinio almost every day since late 2010 (on the first iPad), and it has been extremely good for most of that time - a 5 star app until this update. Losing all the previous downloads and bookmarks was a minor irritation, but you gave notice of this which was good. Sadly this update to the app is very poor compared to the last version. I have an iPad Pro, and where pages would load instantly until last week, they now load slowly in blocks until the page is complete. Some of the previous organisation options seem to have gone - there is no obvious way to group by year. Organising by publish date is not too bad (if slow), but organising by title A to Z don’t work very well, and with a seven year collection, is too slow to display. Sorry - but I’m not happy with this update. You have fixed previous updates that seemed a brief step back; I hope you are able to fix this one soon for both speed and publication organisation ability..Version: 4.5.3

Great to save some cash! This is a very adequate app. What I like about it is the price of some of the USA magazines; very cheap compared to the New Zealand versions. But the interface could do with a tweek or two, sometimes it just won' t do what I'm trying to do! Maybe it's just too smart. And URLs in the magazines don't open safari for some reason, I would have expected that to at least work..Version: 2.2.1

Zinio is goodWorks well. Makes reading a magazine on the iPad pleasant and fun.Version: 3.4.6

Easy and user friendlyThis app is easy to use. You can set and forget. It will email let you know your new fave issue has landed and if there is a special offer you are notified. A lot easier to use that others..Version: 3.4.6

Great AppThis is a great app. I have not had any problems with the app at all. I read all of my magazines in the app which I have done for a long time now. I find it easy to use and glad that I changed from Print editions. Alex.Version: 3.4.6

I love ZinioThe choice of titles is very good and I love the relatively easy access to mags from other countries. Could be featuring a better selection of non-mainstream titles..Version: 3.4.6

Getting familiar with itI could not get comfortable with this app on the PC, but it is a dream to work with on iPad. With no pile of paper to find a new home for when I finish reading, I'll be looking for my more favoured magazines to be available in this format when I have more time to read. Only one problem on iPad, I can't access one of my magazines because there is no option to go back to that year to read it (2009).Version: 2.2.6

Much better nowIt is much better now, that you can browse through the magazine with the small pages at the bottom of the screen and also that you can pick up where you were reading and not have to go through the whole magazine to find where you were up to, every time you leave the app.Version: 4.10.0

Best Magazine App AroundI have tried a few apps to read magazines from the app store and by far this is the best one, great selection and easy to use..Version: 3.4.6

Fantastic app!I have always been very dubious about reading magazines in an electronic form but after using Zinio on my iPad for several months now I'm totally converted. Very easy to use and order the magazines you like, large selection to choose from (though sadly no Acoustic Guitar magazine) and so much cheaper and quicker than buying them in the shop. I got a 1 year subscription to Uncut magazine for less than the cost of two issues from my local shop! Mags look wonderful on my iPad 2 display. Highly recommended.Version: 2.2.4

Great for a travelerBeen using Zinio for a while now. Easy to navigate round site, helps me keep up with subscriptions to magazines/editorials I like whilst on the move, which is something I do a lot! Have twice needed to contact Zinio about admin queries and on both occasions received prompt, courteous and helpful service. What's not to love about it!.Version: 3.4.6

Very capable magazine reader, with a rich libraryZinio has come a long way over the last few years, improving their app constantly to its current highly refined state. Adding the magazine title search function some months ago was the last missing piece to make it a 5 star app. Magazine prices are also very attractive, as is the extensive range of titles. Very highly recommended..Version: 3.4.6

Content varies between devicesSo long as you understand that Zinio content varies between iPhone and iPad, then you'll be right. There are currently no NZ magazines available for iPhone format. There are some good international choices. There are around 13 NZ titles for iPad, eg NZ House and Garden. You save about 35% off cover price - I'd like to see 50% because publishers are saving materials and transport costs. I've used the Zinio reader for 5 years on a HP tablet PC. It's what I benchmark all other ereaders against. I like having all my favorite magazines backed up in the cloud; not having to worry about bookshelf space and the ability to search for that interesting article across my entire collection..Version: 0

Good magazine reader with a few annoying quirksWell, the app just harassed me about 12 times in half an hour to rate, so here you go. (This is annoying and needs to be changed) I've been using Zinio for years, and overall it's a great reader. Lots of magazines are available. Another plus is that the customer service has always been friendly and quick when I've contacted them. On the downside: lately I'm often finding that pages in the shop don't load. PayPal used to be available as a payment method, now it's credit card only. Another irritating bug is that sometimes when you zoom in on a page, the app jumps several pages forward. Edit: I've just bumped up my rating due to two reasons. First, I used a different magazine reader which was clunky and terrible and made me realise how nice Zinio is to use in comparison. Secondly, I had a problem with the Zinio website and thus wasn't able to take advantage of a special offer, and Zinio customer service immediately fixed it for me. Yay!.Version: 3.4.6

Very good and easy to useWith a very rich collection of titles and many languages available, this is the perfect partner for my i pad. I have subscribed to other online magazines but you need to be connected to read them. Not with this one, which allows you to read everywhere. Highly recommended..Version: 3.4.6

Love your AppLove using your app. Just don't update it, as if a complete update is required you loose all your downloaded content and you have to re-download all content again. I have over two years of mags that I am still reading..Version: 3.4.6

Great app for magazines!I've been reading Macworld for over a year now using Zino on my iPhone & it's extremely easy to use. The main quibble dropping it to 4-stars is the I can't get the full width of a single page on the iPhone when I turn it sideways. Sometimes this would be very useful. Also, to switch from print view to text view you need to be at the beginning of the article you're reading. Again, it would be helpful to switch back and forth midway through the article at times. Otherwise it's a very well thought out and intuitive app..Version: 3.4.6

Pretty goodReally like this product. Makes buying, subscribing and reading mags easy. However only get heavily discounted ones as they aren't quite as good as printed ones - not so easy to share. Lots of them are too expensive for me to consider buying. Am currently having issues reading pc mag - seems to hang zinio app across multiple iPads but pretty sure this will be sorted. Others work fine is especially nice on retina display but even good on mini..Version: 2.5

Latest app is step backThe previous app was more much better. It permitted shopping by category, then sub category. The latest app search will miss issues. Bring back the old app..Version: 4.7.1

Best and favorite appI love my Zinio. I use it for just about every magazine subscription, except for a few that I can't find on the app, but prices are reasonable and I have all my art, jewelry, and knitting magazines in one place. Love, love, love it. Pics and font easy to enlarge, and illustrations stay very crisp when zooming. I buy subscriptions and single issues. I have even called some magazine subscribers to switch me over so that I don't have extra paper in my trash. Reduce the carbon footprint. They are stored to read off line. I wish you carried all artist magazines though!.Version: 3.4.6

Pretty good way to save treesLove that my local library subscribes as I get to read mags from all over the world. There are a few bugs with the navigating pages & downloading the mags themselves as it continually asks me to download the appropriate reader despite it already installed. Get to read stuff I would never buy like architecture & Tec stuff or fashion where only 3 pages are worth reading!.Version: 3.4.6

Pretty straight forward but missing 1 featureI like the app but it needs a feature to track my subscriptions so I can see renewal dates etc….Version: 4.54.3

Great way to get my reading fix!I've been using this app for a few years now. Very simple to use. Email notification tells me when a new magazine is available. Magazine downloads quickly to my phone/ipad so I can read it later without a wireless connection. Very happy with this app..Version: 3.4.6

Love ZinioThis is the greatest app available!! I love the amount of money you can save on magazines.Version: 3.4.6

Fantastic appThis has taken my iPad to a whole new level of awesome. The NZ mags need to come to the party a bit more & price for digital not paper. Some have already like Spoke (mtb mag). UK mags tend to be normal prices too but in the US magazines there are some great priced subscriptions to be had. 12 issues of Harpers Bazaar or Marie Claire at less than $1 an issue? Fantastic! I have subscribed to 10 magazines so far. I have not noticed the issues others have mentioned..Version: 0

ZinioSometimes it will 'forget' magazines that are already downloaded so you have to go back online to get them again. That hassle needs to be corrected as it means that when travelling you can't guarantee you will have your mags to read..Version: 3.4.6

VariéFacile d’utilisation. Varié dans les sujets. Un peu de français..Version: 4.57.0

Far & away superior to RBMany of the Australian public libraries have swapped from Zinio to an alternate reader, which is a shame as this is VASTLY superior in all respects. The bookmarking feature is great and the apps reliable. Lobby your library to change back to Zinio - please !! The good news is that magazines checked out via RB remain available via the Zinio app so the need to suffer through RB is thankfully reduced..Version: 4.14.1

Good when it worksI have to read ny magazine’s in pdf mode which isn’t bad, but not ideal..Version: 4.55.2

Use it every day …When all I had was my computer, I never thought I'd get involved reading a digital copy of a magazine, but the combination of my iPad and the Zinio App is a match that finds me reading digital magazines throughout the day, every day. Hint: check your public library to see if they subscribe to digital magazines that Zinio can download and utilize for free. The Zinio app provides both an intuitive means of means reading digital magazines and a sane method of maintaining your library. After my email app, this is my second-most used app on my iPad..Version: 3.4.6

Love ZinioI've been using Zinio for my magazines for 7 years now. I travel a lot so it means I don't have to lug around a pile of magazines with me. Love the interactive magazines, an experience you just can't get with good old paper. I get my magazines from a couple of libraries where I live as they all have different titles..Version: 4.34.1

Useful appVery easy to use, good integration with local library.Version: 3.4.6

Enjoy using the appI really enjoy using Zinio for reading magazines. I have several magazines that I receive this way: PC Magazine, iPhone Life, and Automobile. PC Mag has just done a bang up job of delivering electronic content! It is an interactive magazine with ways to rotate images to get a 3D view of something, scroll up and down a page, links, etc. The scrolling allows you to read more about something if you are interested in it but you can easily skip those pages if they don't provide value to you. So, instead of having 4 pages in a row about something, you have 1 horizontal page and 3 more pages that you scroll vertically. That is very nice! I like that Zinio shows when a magazine hasn't been downloaded. I would like to be able to tell if I have partially/completely read the magazine because I want to download the magazines on wi-fi but read them later. I don't have a way to mark them as just being downloaded and not read at all or just partially read..Version: 3.4.6

Best Magazine App So Far!Most of my favorite publications have begun offering digital versions. Zinio is by far my favorite, mainly because the app and publications are not such space hogs on my IPad. Occasionally I have to remove a few issues, but they are easily restored when I want them back. Many of my pubs are craft magazines that have continuing value. Zinio offers great value. And once in a while when something goes wrong, customer service is very good to help find & fix the problem with prompt response & follow-up..Version: 3.4.6

Good reader with technical challengesI have used Zinio on Windows for years and prefer digital content (it saves trees and is not bulky to carry around). This app brings that desktop experience to the iPad. It works well. Navigating media content is simple. However, it would be nice if I could queue up multiple items for download. So far my experience is that only one download can take place at a time with no way to specify multiple (to queue up). When I start downloading one item and then select another, the first one stops and the more recent selection is downloaded. I have noticed the app has had numerous user interface changes. It is a little too early to comment on the recent updates. But, I am frustrated by the not-so user friendly interface. It is not intuitive. Plus, I seem to have lost the local copy of a number of items and have had to spend the time to redownload them. This occurred again when I moved to iOS 5. It is quite annoying. I dropped my rating a point today as I have been having problems downloading some publications. Zinio has not been overly speedy to respond to my concerns. I have paid for the content and it is not available through this channel. Many improvements in the app have made it much more friendly. I have raised my rating to a 5 as it runs pretty smooth and has good navigation. Now, if you could allow for background downloads, it would round out the app fully..Version: 3.4.6

ZINIO is the best!I’ve been a Customer for about 10 years - still the best and easiest to use Magazine reader with the absolute best in Customer service. I’ve always had a very positive experience whenever I’ve needed to call - which is not often..Version: 4.19.0

First time userZINIO is so easy to use and delivery takes seconds, new issues appear regularly and the prices are reasonable..Version: 4.43.2

Updated. Frustrated with repeated syncing issuesUpdate: Issues resolved with coordination of tech support. I hope permanently, but I expect not. Long time, many years, user of this app. I’ve purchase several subscriptions. My problem is with borrowing. Most libraries use it for checking out magazines and this has been challenging. Over the last year or so, I have had continual issues with magazine that are checked out, but do not appear in the App Library. So, no way to read them. Using the support contact within app, most times it has been resolved. But it’s happening again now and it’s tedious. Back & forth low level support messages reminding me to sync 🙄 update (of course I wouldn’t have already done that 🙄) and me finally asking to escalate the issue. Magically, it gets resolved then. I’m stuck because I have no option if I want to use all the services my local library provides. I should add that with browsers, there’s no problem. But I like to read magazines on my iPad. I think they excel at that!.Version: 4.42.3

Super service!!J’ai eu un problème d’association de mon abonnement et ils ont réglé ça en 5 minutes.... merci!!.Version: 4.34.1

Fed upWith being asked to review Zinio again and again and again. Give us a break guys..Version: 3.4.6

So convenientI love to open my iPad to find a new issue of a magazine I subscribe to on my ZINIO is waiting to be downloaded and devoured. Magazines are costly, not environmentally-friendly and leave you with the problem of what to do with them all, they seem to mount up so quickly. Magazines on-line have been my salvation. Also, the team at ZINIO are so helpful and quick to respond to questions or queries Love ZINIO!.Version: 4.13.3

Magazines not displaying correctlySince the latest update some magazines, but not all, are not displaying correctly, they just display as a black screen, I hope this is fixable..Version: 4.55.1

Great Access to a world of magazinesHave subscribed for several years and cannot find fault with anything. It has enabled me to read my favourite US editions at very favourable prices. Any problems are quickly and courteously sorted by people who are a pleasure to deal with. What more could you want?..Version: 3.4.6

Bad VersionI have had Zinio for years and loved it until now! This new version has managed to lose every purchase I have ever made including tonight's. Zinio should never have rolled out a new version of their app that people had no choice in getting (it was included in the last ios update). I have subscriptions that I look forward to reading but now I cannot access them and there appears to be no one to complain to, or get direct help from. I am extremely disappointed!!!.Version: 4.7.3

All your favourite mags in one place.I have stopped receiving paper subscriptions a long time ago. Zinio is a great tool to have all your favourite subscriptions in one place. No more heavy bags full of paper. iPad and zinio to travel light. Dr. Guido De’Medici.Version: 4.52.0

Great Digital ReadWhat a great app. Used to buy many magazines but then over time they ended up just cluttering my work bag or the coffee table at home. Now I am reading again with these digital mags ... great content and an absolute purpose built app for the 12.9 iPad Pro .... AWESOME APP that has me reading again … and saving trees and the planet too.Version: 4.52.0

Wide selection of titles; crisp graphics; instant deliveryZinio is visually beautiful, and with a double-tap zoom, it's easy to bring any article or pic to a readable size. I particularly appreciate the ability to email the text of articles in some magazines. If I had a wish list, it would have two items: the ability to print pages or articles as they are (that is, the page view, not just the text), and a more extensive bookmarking and cross-referencing system. I'd also like to understand better when and why Zinio removes back issues (you can download them again at any time, but they seem to disappear off the device at irregular intervals). Overall, this is a great app, and by far the best magazine platform I've found for the iPad - much better than Apple's proprietary Newsstand, and light-years ahead of Magshop..Version: 2.3.1

My favorite readerI subscribe to several magazines. Unfortunately each uses a different reader app with its own style to get used to. Of all of them ZINIO is my favorite. What I like about it is the way the articles are laid out. I swipe vertically to read through one article, or swipe horizontally to change to the next article. No other reader allows this very handy format. I have never had any issues with crashing or other bugs, ZINIO is a very solid app. My only complaint with ZINIO is the confusion between Deleting and Archiving, and the awkwardness of retrieving an archived article..Version: 4.10.0

Good selection of magazinesGot tired of being asked to review this constantly. Good app, not great, but good. Nice selection of magazines..Version: 3.4.6

Most used app!!This is by far the most used app on my iPad. Other users have reported lag issues but I have not experienced this to any level that would be a hinderance to the reading experience. Sure there can be a second or two delay in rendering the text when zooming but hardly anything other than a pedantic argument considering the quality and usefulness of the app..Version: 0

Go to AppIf I was to list my top five apps ZINIO would’ve made the list every year. I’ve had the app on since the 1st iPad and in that time I can find no fault with their customer service. With the latest update they’ve guaranteed it’s a essential app..Version: 4.5.3

Fantastic customer service.I have been using this app on and off for quite awhile. I recently purchased 12 weeks of the Economist for £12. unfortunately when it finished I forgot to cancel the subscription and got a bill for £179. Customer service was amazing. I explain my error and they very kindly re-credited my account with PayPal. Cannot ask for more. As regarding the app itself very easy to use and works like a treat -would highly recommend to anyone who wants to use this app..Version: 4.35.1

Latest UpdateI was really annoyed at having to reload all the content again after the latest update. I had bought a new iPad and had just finished reloading all the zinio content so the timing couldn’t have been worse. The help desk were very responsive to my complaint, I still have to reload everything but at least they were understanding. I do like the new version, seems to load more quickly and is less clunky. It is a great way to collect magazines without taking up bookshelf space..Version: 4.6.0

SlickSuper easy to use and love having my fav mags at my fingertips.Version: 4.55.2

I use this app all the timeGreat app. Love it.Version: 3.4.6

Not working on my iPad anymoreThis app used to be good but since recent updates it does not work correctly. If I search for a magazine and click for the latest and back editions the app shuts down. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling, no difference.Version: 4.28.0

Easy and quickVery easy to navigate. Also easy to switch between read mode and magazine mode so that you can read any text without trying to navigate around photos etc.Version: 3.4.6

Combined with Zinio for libraries, this app is awesomeWhat could be better than having an app where you can read over 20 magazines every month that haven't cost a penny, and can be read anywhere? It's got to be the bargain of the year..Version: 3.4.6

Love Zinio! What more is there to say about an app which allows you to carry your magazines around with you. I currently subscribe to 5 electronic magazines and they are all right there when I want them. No more lost magazines or looking all over the place for them. I always check to see if there is an electronic version when renewing a magazine. Is it perfect? No because all my magazine don't come in electronic form. Hopefully they will eventually. There are a few enhancements I'd like to see. I'd like to be able to bookmark my position with a label and possible underline things. When you read a great article in an computer magazine it would be nice to find it some months later without reread several magazines and then having to reread the entire article for two lines. Until that happens, I still keep the paper copies that subscription provides me. I currently use Zinio on my iPhone and iPad. It gets the most use on my iPad, but I have several smaller magazines which are perfect on my iPhone when it needed..Version: 3.4.6

Latest IOS Zinio App update lost all my downloads :(The recent update to the Zino App lost all my previously downloaded magazine images....several years worth. NOT HAPPY. I have had download all of them again on the same iPad they were previously on. There was no option to download the lot, they had to be done one by one. This is abysmal app design..Version: 4.5.0

Very good appThis app makes it very easy to move from mag title to title. Navigation between and within titles is excellent and consistent, unlike titles outside of ZINIO. The layout of the library is simple, clear and logical. My only issue is I can’t group all my non-ZINIO titles inside ZINIO to take advantage of the excellent easy to use filing. It’s a please to use!.Version: 4.19.0

New Zealand TodayThis is a great way to receive books as they can be stored for future reading. Perhaps it might be better to say this way the older copies can be better stored in a neater fashion than just be stacked on a shelf somewhere. Cheers Derek.Version: 4.12.2

Excellent..Great way to download & store magazines..Version: 3.4.6

Great appI use this app for accessing magazines from my library. I love having access to the magazines whenever I want. I get a lot of craft magazines and it's great to be able to go through back issues at a click of a button looking for inspiration or a design I want to try. I really like the text feature. As someone who is dyslexic but reads a lot I like being able to both clear the screen of sometimes distracting images but also being able to change the font and size. If I was being super picky it would be really cool to be able to change the background colour in this mode , making it more accessible again..Version: 3.4.6

Customer ServiceI had trouble downloading a magazine and contacted CS by email. I got the expected auto response but heard from an individual within hours. They told me the problem was on their side and would pursue problem. I heard back within a couple of days that the problem was fixed. I forgot to check my app and therefore did not respond. A few days later, I wrote back because the item had still not appeared in my library. CS wrote back almost immediately and helped me solve the problem. That is great customer service..Version: 4.10.0

Great Platform For ReadingI have had very few problems with Zinio. Sometimes there were magazines that I bought that didn't download, but support always resolved it quickly and efficiently, and were very knowledgable and upbeat. Any problems in the past are just that. The programmers have been awesome about keeping up with updates and technology, so kudos to them. I love reading magazines online. They are usually cheaper, but not always. My only complaint is that they don't offer some of the magazines I want, but I am getting them on other apps. I love the surprise sales and discounts which make the magazines an even better deal. I have access to all the French and English language magazines I could ever want. I love being able to keep magazines and not have to worry about clutter. This is a big win for me because I love magazines and books, and I like to keep them. Epic win..Version: 3.4.6

So convenientHow often do you just want to have a good read but can't be bothered going to the shop. Press a couple of buttons and wala, a magazine of interest available instantly. Problem solved with this app. Love it and will always use it.Version: 3.4.6

A MAGAZINE READERS DELIGHTAlmost all the major magazines are here in one place. Far lower cost than subscribing to just as few of the major magazine. You can even get tons of back issues. Need to read on the plane or train without internet - no problem load to your device come back and read later without an internet connection. Want to save an article for later - great clipping ability to review again later. Only thing I would like to see is more Apple Computer related magazines for iPhones, iPads & Mac computers. Especially some of the magazines from the United Kingdom - they have best iPhones, iPads & Mac computer magazines..Version: 3.4.6

Love it!Highlight of my month is when a message comes through to say that the latest copy of my favourite magazine is ready to download. Works seamlessly and the bonus is that I get my pick of hundreds of magazines to read FOR FREE through Welsh Libraries. Nothing makes me happier!.Version: 3.4.6

Excellent customer serviceOver the years that I have used this app I have had to contact customer services a couple of times. Every time my problem has been professionally and efficiently dealt with very quickly by real people. It's an easy to use app, but for its customer services they deserve 5 stars..Version: 4.19.0

Totally love this appZinio has brought my iPad to life with these magazines, fantastic variety to browse & choose from & most prices are very good. I love the cooking/food mags, better than a paper one by far, stand the iPad up & use it to cook from, messy fingers are ok, just wipe off ! (use screen protector) the way I see it zinio can only get better from here !.Version: 2.2.1

ZinioExcellent selection of magazines, though the app can be a little moody!.Version: 3.4.6

Love itI can read my favorites magazines everywhere (iphone, mac and pc).Version: 3.4.6

They don't get zoom! This a review I thought I sent years ago but looks like it was stuck in the app. My iPad zoom issues seem to have disappeared and most magazines accommodate my aging eyesight. I’ll submit my earlier complaint to show how much they have improved. Good job Zinio! I love being able to carry a library of magazines on my iPad. And with my aging eyesight, I love being able to enlarge the text. But apparently these guys have perfect eyesight. I was an early adopter and have complained for years about a major bug that, when you zoom in on a page, results in suddenly moving several pages backwards or frontwards through the magazine. It can take a half dozen attempts to zoom in before getting the desired result. happens all the time. I have complained about this for years, but I've gone from the original iPad to the Air without them having addressed the problem. Worse, their more recent and imaginative presentation formats don't allow zooming in at all. They may have perfect eyesight, but they are quite myopic about serving some segments of their market..Version: 4.34.1

Excellent platformI love this app, awesome..Version: 4.34.1

Easy to use, could be improvedZinio offers a very easy way for me to find and subscribe to content that fits my interests which is ace. The UI is fine and content legible. It does occasionally take a few moments for changes made via the website to register on the app but that's not a big issue for me. The key thing to note is that each magazine displays content different with some making it easier to either focus or zoom in on the text than others. This is one area that could be improved. I do get more email spam about other titles than I would ideally like but in fairness that must be balanced against the occasional gems available through the access to free articles and/or special offer issues which may be worthwhile depending on the breadth of one's interests..Version: 3.4.6

Excellent customer serviceI have been using Zinio on and off for years and find it works very well for most magazines. I just wanted to say from recent experience their customer service is excellent. I was subscribed to a magazine that went out of print with half the subscription left to run, so had to contact their customer services to deal with this. They responded almost immediately and were very helpful and had the remaining issues transferred to another similar magazine straight away..Version: 4.43.5

Great product, room for improvementsI love using Zinio to read my magazines, but I miss some of the features in Kindle or HOG Magazine apps. Would love to print specific articles or pages. The auto-renew feature for at least two of my subscriptions haven't worked - my account says I have 6 or more issues left, but I experienced a long gap in service on each magazine. How does this happen with auto-renew feature selected? If for example my credit card on file didn't work, why didn't Zinio inform me so I could update it?.Version: 3.4.6

Great app that just needs small improvementFor the most part it works well and places all your magazine subs in one app that is very convenient. The flow through is very easy and it stays on the last page you had open. Never had it crash on me even once! My only gripe - and it is minor- is that I have had a problem getting my magazine to show the latest edition despite it being available. A quick email to Zinio fixes it quickly...but still shouldn't have to go through that. It has happened three times..Version: 3.4.6

Me encanta ZINIO app ❤️Es la mejor app para leer tus revistas favoritas en cualquier parte del mundo 🌎.Version: 4.43.2

ZinioGreat Website & Access..Version: 4.54.1

Long time user and love itI've been using the app for magazine purchases for about 6 years now, I recommend it to everyone. Quick loading, great range available, excellent customer service. Only downside is not getting an email reminder when subscriptions are due, even those on auto renew. And the stupid ratings pop up in app..Version: 3.4.6

I love My ZINIO Library BUT...How can you beat having your magazine subscriptions hang around for years? The only issue I have is as a knitter. I cannot print the pattern page I want to carry in my bag with my knitting!! I mean, if I carefully document the pattern and yarn and item I’m making—and that it is using a ZINIO magazine—I might be able to find the pattern again if I lay my knitting down for a week. But usually I’m not that careful and don’t recall where that pattern came from. My question is, WHY can’t I print even a limited number of pages from the magazine I purchased?? If I bought a physical magazine I could put the mag in my knitting bag. I can’t sell one article...or at least I don’t know where. But I really have to limit my purchases to magazines I will only read. Give me the ability to print my patterns—labeled and documented as ZINIO mag patterns if you want—and I’ll love you even more..Version: 4.27.1

Great app to read magazines!I have been using Zinio software on PCs to read my magazines for a long time. The iOS apps are just an extension of a great way to read. I try not to subscribe any magazines in paper form. If they are available in Zinio, then I subscribe them. I can read magazines anywhere (most of my reading is on the planes) and I do not have to carry stacks of them. It also contributes to the environment. Plus, I can always look up a past issue very quickly from my iPad. The app is for the most part very stable. When I have had crashes, I believe it is due to iPad memory issues than the app itself. The current version has been very stable. I run it on my iPad Air2 iPad Mini2 and 4 and iPad Pro 12.9" and iPhone 6 Plus. I hope Zinio updates the app to take advantage of the higher resolution. Great job!.Version: 3.4.6

Great App!!!I have been using this app for almost 4 years and other then couple of ups and downs I cannot fault it. It stores my purchased magazines and I can access them anytime I want, which is great. Just this morning I have been reviewing magazine from 3 years ago, and with only a click. Ain't that great?!;))).Version: 3.4.6

Has improved a lotThis new generation of the reader has been pretty good all things considered. The only thing I would like to see that I think it desperately needs is a sync engine so that I can keep my library sunk across devices. There is nothing worse than loading the app on a new device and having 15 years worth of magazines listed..Version: 4.17.0

Superb! An excellent app. It works perfectly allowing easy reading with text only view available. The magazines are always emailed on time and download quickly. I love the fact that you can access your mags without wifi once you have downloaded them..Version: 3.4.6

One of my most used appsThis is an awesome app and I will recommend it to anyone. Digital magazine subscriptions are cheaper than hard copies and much easier to keep tidy, and you don't need to throw away old magazines anymore!!! Also nice to have interactive features which some magazines has which aren't available on hard copies. Would have easily given it 5/5, but there are a few areas for improvement. - cannot download multiple magazines at the same time - cannot download magazine in the background while u are not in the app - still crashes now and again but a lot less than it used to, but in comparison it's nothing like the frequent of crashes when using windows PC..Version: 2.2.1

Merci.I J aime la simplicité de votre. Page. Et surtout le mot de passe demeure. Et les mises à jour. Sont silencieuses. ,bravo.Version: 4.35.1

Finally! This app had gone through so many terrible changes recently that I was getting ready to give up on it even though it’s what my library uses to get readers free magazines. This most recent update finally moved the archived magazines to a different tab so when you click on a magazine, you only see the recent and downloaded issues. Now when I want to read a magazine, I don’t need to see every single issue I’ve ever owned, only the most recent and unarchived issues. ZINIO, you’ve finally done it right. Please don’t change again.Version: 4.16.1

Magazines on tapI love Zinio!! I get my favourite mags at a good price and up to date!!!.Version: 3.4.6

Great minimalist/environmental solution!I love that I can get the magazines I want to read without the inevitable waste and am able to easily select an article, product or contact and search the net for details or similar examples in my area. Great work! No longer do I need to carry a rucksack for my magazines when traveling! 😁.Version: 3.4.6

Now a very good magazine readerI've been using Zinio for several years and its performance has been up and down. With Version 4.5 it seems to deliver its true potential. Library management is MUCH better. It is now much easier to show ALL your "downloaded" magazines not like the previous way where they were shown in some crazy Year/Month grouping. PDF document quality is good (not excellent) but that is probably the fault of the individual magazine publisher (Zinio can only show what it's given). The really great improvement is in the "text" view of magazine content. The article layouts and text quality are infinitely better than previous versions. Well done Zinio! I really like this app now!.Version: 4.5.0

Great app with lots of browsing funIt's so much easier and attractive to browse magazines from the luxury behind your iPad, rather than going through these magazines in a shop. I love the app, and I love the multitude of magazines available. Unfortunately some magazines have their own reader and are not available here (eg Scientific American, Wired). Would be great to have these too as I much appreciate the preview features of Zinio..Version: 1.9.7

It would be even better if...I’d love it if the app would open the last publication I was reading at the page I was looking at. I’m sure it used to do this, but now I have to click Library and then the publication and issue I want to look at. Only then does it open at the last read page..Version: 4.23.2
