What is LineLearner? Description of LineLearner

Line Learner helps you to learn lines as quickly and easily as you learn a catchy song.
Line Learner enables you to record scenes from plays. It allows you to listen to the full recording while you learn your part. You can then select to leave gaps in the recording for you to speak your part aloud. A prompt button is there to remind you of your line if you forget.
You can choose to repeat individual scenes, or the whole play.
With line learner you can record your script, and share it with others, who can record their lines, and share them back, giving you the ability to rehearse together even when apart.
The app allows you to load up a script in PDF or Word format and display it as you record your lines.
After you have recorded your lines you can alter the pitch of the other characters so as to more easily tell their lines apart from your own.
Some quotes from some of our users:
" I attribute much of my success to using your app"

LineLearner Pros

Absolutely brilliant, changed my memorization life! This app has completely revolutionized line memorization for me. I love graduating through the stages of listening to every line, then gap-line for my lines, then finally just gaps for my lines. My turnaround time for being off book is absolutely faster, especially in situations where I have a lot to learn in a short time. One UX issue utterly baffles me, however. There is a critical menu that you will bring up often during playback that allows you to control gaps, looping, etc. The developer has decided to make that menu animate SOOOOOO SLLLLOOOOWWWLLLLYY. It is an annoying impediment to productivity. There is absolutely no reason that menu slide should take more than 250ms. I think right now it's 1500ms with the bounce. PLEASE bring that duration down to 250ms and lose the bounce. The bounce effect is GREAT for folksy tutorial overlays and games, but it has no place in a productivity app like this. Other than that, fantastic work!!!.FRRjakVersion: 6.7.6

Nearly perfect...This is a brilliant, brilliant app and I will be recommending it to a number of people I know. My only complaint is about navigation; once you have recorded a play there is no easy way to navigate. I would suggest the ability to collapse and expand scenes is a must in a future update. It would also help if when changing from PLAY to EDIT (and vice versa) that it opened on the same line rather than the start. Maybe a GO TO button that listed scenes would help. Fix these and I will be back to give this 5 stars. It's by far the most useful app I have..IvoryTicklerVersion: 0

LineLearner Cons

UselessSo buggy it just doesn't work. Freezes every time you want to change between modes. Lost all the lines I had recorded. It's a great idea and would be wonderful if it worked - but it doesn't. Shame..Quentin BickleVersion: 3.2

Okay…. could be a lot betterFinally figured out how to import the script, but it is merely a display. Does NOT actually import the lines to be used, basically just a DOCX or PDF reader in that sense, and cannot be edited for use in LL. Cannot copy stage directions from script to LL, must enter them manually. Having to record each character’s line is a bit tedious, might be improved by importing an existing mp3 file. i.e. I record the entire play, would be good to import and then edit “breaks” for each character’s line etc, and gapping for your own lines. An adjustable pitch would be nice, so that you don’t have the simple choices of High or Low. Good for multiple character scenes with an array of different character dialogue..Dave-SVersion: 6.7.6
