✓ De-list this alreadyDisclaimer: I think I bought the Epic Win app over a decade ago, while we were still on iPhone 4 or 5; and at the time, it did everything it was supposed to. Epic Win got me though grad school and made setting goals engaging. I loved this app. But, it hasn’t been usable in years. It hasn’t worked on the last few phones I’ve upgraded through. I don’t remember seeing the UX actually working after the last posted fix date. I can look back fondly on this, and I would even support a reasonable-cost update from the creators — nothing else in this space looks or feels as good as Epic Win — but it’s unethical to charge money for something that’s been abandoned and will not work. ✓ Bit of a let downBeen looking forward to this app for a while, however, the final product has left me feeling a little disappointed. For a start, there isn't much to it. The todo aspect of it is rudimentary at best. It's a flat list grouped by day and that it. Then there's the RPG aspect, which also seems to be lacking in focus. Plus the fact that one of the class types that comes with the game has to be paid for to be used really rubs me up the wrong way. I don't mind paying for extra content, but not to unlock content that is already there. Overall, an interesting gimmick but not very good at what it sets out to do..Version: 0

However it would be nice for them to update it for push notifications, to remind you to do things/when they are due etc. For this to be possible, the app DESPERATELY needs to allow you to put in the TIME things are due. ✓ Self motivating appThis is a daily task tracker packaged in a game. For a three year old it would be nice. Since we will feel happy every time he brushed his teeth getting 50xp points. For an older person with a busy schedule this will propably just add one more thing in his mind in the things that he has to do. So for me it hasn't worked so far motivating me in doing anything. I just do all the things as i used to and once a day i open the app to add my points so the is really no point in the app for me. I admit though that i rarely use calendars or notepads. ✓ Broken QuestsCurrently the quests screen breaks the moment you finish one of them. It flickers, your shows the list with only 3 quests (out of 15 I have). Restarting/reinstalling the app doesn’t help :( EDIT 2021: Now the daily quests reappear right after you finish them. The app is absolute garbage atm. ✓ Fun... for a while.This app is slick but needs more incentive and reward. The presentation and idea behind it is great. At first it's exciting to complete tasks and gain experience. But what is the benefit? Gaining the occasional treasure is fun but not enough to hold your interest for long. I don't know what will happen when I level up, because after a week's regular use I'm still level 1, but from what I've read there is some kind of unspecified character development? Maybe your avatar will change? Or your title? Whatever the answer it takes too long to keep you interested. There's no point developing your character and equipping items as people have suggested, unless you can do something with your character. Maybe there should be a simple battle or challenge to win the loot? Or the function to battle other players? I realise this is primarily a to-do list app, not a game, but my opinion is that the gimmick will be short lived unless new features are added. And if that's the case there is no reason to choose this app over other more accomplished to-do list apps, which are more comprehensive and user friendly. You could pick 300 points for everything (but you won't) i can pick 50 points for walking yhe dof and then 150 points, but it would be good to have certain cap on it. ✓ Brilliant idea, needs development thoughI really like what the app is at heart, but it's really just a great outline for rather than a finished product. Issues: Levelling up takes too long. I'm still only level 1 and I've been using this app since it came out, and using it heavily. With the rewards so few and far between, there's a reason many of my quests run overdue. Loot. The loot doesn't show on the character, it serves no purpose, and there isn't that much of it. A game like this needs hundreds, perhaps thousands of items. Already I have multiples of useless low level junk that I can't use. Completing quests needs something more than just wiggling the text and a progress bar. There are only five categories, putting in five different combat animations like in a real RPG wouldn't hurt. Also, there needs to be a sense of narrative. Make up a fictional villain, and have each quest be part of the story of defeating that villain. I do some pushups, and have my avatar beating up some evil henchmen. And please, put in some boss battles when levelling up. Make each level end with a big 1,200 XP fight against a named creature. Knowing that taking down my laundry was the thing that finally defeated Scathrax the Dragon would be a great motivator. I use the app, I like it, but it just needs more of everything before it becomes truly epic..Version: 0

This program makes addding tasks lot quicker and simpler, and completing them a lot more fun! A few requests, though: 1. Calendar view. 2. Times for tasks - date is fair enough, but what if something needs to be done BY 2pm or AT 2pm? 3. Notifications. Push notifications to remind you of tasks would be invaluable. 4. Pre-set tasks, like cleaning, exercise, relaxation, work, etc, to make adding common tasks easier. 5. Pre-set tags, as with point 4, could correspond with certain stats (stamina/spirit/strength etc), to keep an even spread of upskilling. It could however use a little more depth, like actually being able to use the items or gold. Or encountering random battles. Even a sexy cut scene after leveling would make it more enjoyable. All the UI elements and boxes that are supposed to be clicked all cropped and in the wrong position. This makes the app look terrible, you can’t even see what your clicking or what it does. However, I get more use out of another app I use for to-dos because there are better rewards. I feel like leveling up a character that doesn't do anything is pointless. It would be cooler to me if the map lead me to short puzzle games alternated with loot. That would motivate me to try to get there. It needs a better interface for organising tasks, even just collapseable lists for the menus. Also, it could benefit from the inclusion of adhoc task. Stuff you do often, but don't want to have re-enter every time. Maybe a 'redo' function would help to 'add again' the same tasks. From other reviews it seems there are other faults lacking in the music and game side as well. ✓ App not supported since 2015They stopped updating the app since 2015 if you check their site. DO NOT BUY/DOWNLOAD IT. It’s garbage and doesn’t work since it hasn’t been supported since 2015. It’s not even that the tasks won’t work it’s that none of the buttons line up anymore so you have to press all over the screen to finally find where the actual button is. It only shows 1/4 of the character because it just glitches out. I couldn’t even get 1 task added. It has a great concept but they aren’t supporting it anymore so it doesn’t work. They are just scamming people to keep it in the App Store. I eventually downloaded it, to find that if you pay £1.79 for The app( which is no problem) you actually still can't play it without the compulsory purchase of an avatar. (£0.59) this is not ok. Why don't you give the first avatar free? Anyhow, ended up purchasing the avatar and started 'playing' got to my fourth reward when it all got a little samish and was left to feel like it was a half finished, bad todo list/boring game. It really can still be awesome but needs fixing. ✓ BuggyLet me preface this by saying that I use this app every day as a fun alternative to a to-do list, it's definitely fun to use, but it does need fixing. To be honest though, considering how simplistic this app is, to have even this many bugs is kind of ridiculous. I've noticed the following problems: - The new sound effects occasionally stop working after switching to another app and then back to Epic Win. - You can drag tasks into the order you want them in, but if they're repeating tasks it doesn't remember their order the next day (defaults back to the order you originally input them in). This is very annoying. - Even if you view loot that you've discovered on the map screen, you have to go into the actual loot screen itself before the loot icon stops showing new loot. Also, not really a bug, but it seems to take waaaay too long to level up. I only got up to level 2 after using it every day for almost two weeks. It may be because I wasn't adding social/spiritual tasks to my list, but that shouldn't make any difference. Not everyone needs to add social stuff to their to-do list and some people don't do "spiritual" stuff. I'm sure these bugs will be fixed, so don't hold off from buying it if you're after something more interesting than your average to-do list app..Version: 0

Likewise, weekly tasks shoot off way into the distance whether you've done them or not. ✓ Epic FailThis is App falls well short of it full potential. It basically just a to-do list and not a particularly good one at that. If you can imagine I'm the kind of person who, as per the Edge preview on which I based this purchase, can get a buzz out of seeing my 'score' increase just through the act of leaving my computer on (eg uploading or downloading) and yet I can no longer be bothered to carry on trying to level up on this then you know that it must be the most tedious, awful, pants. I don't understand why it costs as much as it does - and as an extra bonus you have to pay to get a different avatar! As others has said, there needs to be the bare bones of a plot or quest and occasional battles to hold your interest and motivate you. Not stupid random 'prizes' which you can't do anything with and mean absolutely nothing. AVOID..Version: 0
✓ Crash at avatar level upWith latest update and latest phone this app continue to crash at level up. Can I have a refund? ------------------ I was looking forward for this app for a long time and eventually spent the money on it. The concept is fun and bright and yet the app is not functioning correctly. The app crashes at leveling up for each avatar and eventually I could not finish a task without crashing. Therefore the app lost both the fun of a rpg and the function of a task manager. Without fixing this bug, there is nothing I can do but deem this app useless, which I probably hate because this app has such a fun concept. Please fix the bug, so people with similar issue like me may still enjoy an epic app..Version: 1.73
✓ Promising To-Do/RPG AppSimple To-Do app with a touch quest and levelling system from role-playing game that actually help me motivate me to clear out the list than other plain To-Do app that doesn't motivate me to do what I supposed to be doing. However, the gaming part is kinda limit. I wish there are more animations when I finish the quest. Ability to earn coins to buy equipments and items to customise my character. Generated storyline, and controllable direction on the map would be nice. To-Do app would be better if the complete tasks are automatically archive to log book. Ability to create stack of tasks into one epic task would be a great improvement (simulate chain quests in RPG). So far so good. Looking forward to see what coming up in the next update..Version: 0
✓ Needs more customizationGood app that feels a little unfinished. Being limited to the amount of Xp per task is a bit irritating and having to buy more avatars when the initial outlay is a bit bigger then some of the other apps is frustrating but at least it has no adds. Hoping for an update soon so I can give it 5*s. Makes chores fun and would recommend for anyone that enjoys writing lists..Version: 1.52

✓ Not worth the 💵I got this app when I figured I would tackle my motivation issue, but I’ve noticed that I have no more motivation to complete my tasks with this app. The quirky twist on a to-do list might work for some, but it isn’t life-changing enough (or at all) to justify paying for it..Version: 1.76
✓ Great, but could be a lot betterTakes way too long to level up I've had this app since the day it came out and have been crossing things off my list every day, I'm barely a quarter of my way through Level 1. Couple of bugs Which have been mentioned in a few of the other reviews, eg. Repeat tasks revert back to their original order the next day even if you moved them, sound effects are glitchy when you change to another app, weekly tasks don't repeat if you file them under 'Someday' Needs More Overt Push Notifications and the option of adding a time to your task. Or else it's easy to forget you even have the app. Other than all this, it's a quaint little app that goes some way to combat procrastination. I don't regret spending the money on it and it's definately the most fun you can have with a to-do list..Version: 0

✓ A decent ideaA decent idea and very fun. However I think it needs somethings added. Something to motivate you to level, like a way to share your guy. Maybe make the loot be customisable on your character. Need to be able to show something for your progress. And to be able to show that progress off. It really needs an alarm function for the tasks as well. So you can be notified. That's a really big omission! I personally think that if you approach it fairly and give yourself the lowest xp (50) for basic tasks it takes waaaayy to long to level. 50 gives almost no progress in the bar. So unless you set tasks for every little thing (really everything) it'll take aaaages. And I don't wanna start giving over generous xp just to compensate. However I do think this app is great. Really cool concept but just missing a few little tweaks. :).Version: 0
