TouchRetouch for Negative User Reviews

This Update Is Not So HotSorry, I know you guys think you really improved this app, but I used this almost every day, and the performance now is so disappointing. The previous quick fix option is gone and now we have only “object,” but I can’t perform simple fixes. Things I used to remove immediately with one try are now no longer easy to change at all, the program is somehow too sensitive, too “smart,” bringing in colors and textures from all over the picture when I simply want to erase something. I can’t stress enough how much more difficult it is to use this app. What used to be one quick erasure now is a struggle, and I have to keep trying again and again to just get it to erase something without replacing it with bits and pieces of other objects. I mean, it’s shocking to me how much less effective this is. Unless things change I will have to find another app..Version: 5.0.2

ScamI purchased this app about two years ago, nowadays it makes you pay (yet again) yearly to use it.Version: 5.1.0

Dont buyDo not buy or else.Version: 5.0.13

Cheap and NastyI don’t see what the fuss is about this app? It leaves artifacts when items have been deleted from a photo and it is extremely hard to zero in precisely on what you want to delete whether it be a simple line or object. Very sloppy and crude to use and work with. I will be asking for a refund..Version: 4.2.1

Not real impressedFirst- after I PAID for this app, I came across an app with the same name fir free . Idk if it is in fact the same, but it would have at least been nice to see it first. Second, it seams the tools are a little primitive - they aren’t as good as the old ‘photoshop fix’ tools and the tutorials on tool functionality read more like ‘hacks’ than instructions I.e. it suggest to just ‘mirror’ half a bridge obstructed by objects. Personally, I don’t find value in creating fake pictures and don’t Appreciate that answer as a solution. With all that said, I’m an optimist- so I will continue to play around with the app (at least because I bought it already) and think I will eventually find its advantages . When and if I do, I will update this review and list my findings..Version: 5.0.2

WeardIt just making the faces longer an pixely doesn’t work like they show you in the video.Version: 4.1.8

RipoffI bought the iPhone app for the iPad, the iPhone app is not well labeled. As usual it looks rubbish on iPad but I’m not paying again for it. Besides that it really doesn’t work as well as claimed. I have other apps that fail just as well as this. I advise against wasting your money.Version: 4.1.8

Very disappointed in the change to subscription modelI paid for the use of Touch ReTouch 2 years ago, and have enjoyed using it as part of my routine photo editing process. Now I see that I have to now pay on a regular basis in order to continue using it, what’s up with that?!?!?.Version: 5.1.7

This is a dark pattern app now. Avoid it.I paid for this app and used it for a long time. It was a great little tool I loved. Now the developer’s want me to start paying constantly for some basic AI tools, and they can’t even offer a discount that lasts more than a year. This is a dark pattern app now. Avoid it..Version: 5.1.0

Seriously?I paid good money on this and now you update it with added features AND with a subscription service and don’t grandfather in loyal customers that helped you grow? I wouldn’t recommend your business to anyone in the future and trust me I have been a loyal supporter that has helped you grow with my recommendation for your product. I’ll say it again in case you’re interested. Grandfather in loyal pre update users that helped you get to where you’re at today. Until then you will get the lowest rating that I can give. Greed. We were basically beta testers. The program didn’t work well for quite a few updates but got better. I would love to hear you defend hanging the base that made it so you could be a subscription service outside the shiny new upgrade. I don’t really expect a logical reply or any reply at all. It’s just another example of the money grab. What says you?.Version: 5.0.13

DisappointingI got this app thinking it would be perfect for what I do with photos but shortly after found out it’s terrible for the fact you remove an object & in the Tutorials it somehow turns out looking normal but when I’ve tried to remove an object it goes noticeably blurry then tried the quick repair that just makes it worse.Version: 4.4.9

100% Un-usable. Fraud. Paid for and received an app that does not work. When the app launches it ONLY allows the ability to use tutorials. What good is learning how to use an app that won’t allow you to use it as instructed? A fatal error occurs when launching this app. A window pops up which says “enable access your photos by going to Settings > Privacy. Simple enough, right? Yet when following the instructions per screen, and arriving at the privacy section for Photos, the IOS instructs “the apps wanting access to photos will appear here” and the screen is empty. 👀🤷🏼‍♀️ Essentially, there is no work around to this error. So I’ve paid money to people who developed a way to take money from me and provide nothing in return. 100% useless app in addition to being a waste of my precious time to tell others so they won’t be taken advantage of like I was..Version: 4.2.1

Can’t save photosLong time ago i paid for this app which was great! now it became a subscription so i paid because i loved the app but i can’t save my own photos after doing the bare minimum of editing. like how amazing is that?.Version: 5.1.6

Trying to cancelThere is no place to cancel trial.Version: 5.1.3

Retouch no longer touchingThis app used to be linked to my Photos app on my iPhone. This appears to no longer be the case. Now, to retouch photos, one has to go directly to the app and it’s a lot more clumsy. I’m not impressed. If this is considered an improvement, you’ve got it all backwards..Version: 5.0.13

Jamais avec un abonnement annuelJe n’aime pas tout ce qui est abonnement. alors je vais resté avec celle qui est gratuit..Version: 5.1.5

UpsetWhy did i pay for this app 2 years ago, and now i have to subscribe to get the full content? No way. I already gave you my money - upgrade your existing users..Version: 5.1.4

Free version doesn't let you save photosIt's been over 30 hours and the app says I've used my 1 free export for "the day".Version: 5.1.3

Great app, but not happy about the change to subscription5 stars for functionality, ease of use, and photo results…1 star for what feels like a bait and switch. Let me start by saying that the reason I’m sitting here writing a review is because it does feel a little dishonest to download an app update and then find out that, oh, this app you bought and paid for is now a subscription app. It was face-slap-adjacent, if I’m being honest. But hey, I recognize that app developers gotta make money too, and if I’m using this app day after day with no ad revenue and no other money coming in…that’s not a winning business model. So I get it. And honestly, if you’re going to be charging $15/year, that’s like $1.50/month, which is really reasonable for the continued development of this app which I use exclusively for my retouching. Seriously, this weekend, I removed dozens of specs from motion blurred wave photos and you couldn’t even tell (using the Auto!), so I absolutely love what this app does. If $1.50/month is the cost of continued development of this great product (and a discount for year one, which I guess would factor in the money I already paid), then I am willing to pay it. But that was a cheap trick, devs. You’re on notice. Any more shenanigans and I have no problem learning how to better use the Lightroom Heal tool (another app I am already paying for on an ongoing basis) or seeing how other apps approximate what ReTouch does..Version: 5.1.0

Horrible editing toolI was hoping, because if the advertisement, that this app would be better than Adobe Photoshop. Nope! When I use a single touch to remove an object, even the smallest brush, other pieces of the photo will crowd the now empty space! It’s like the source is configured to pull from any random object and it cannot overlay the background behind the image doesn’t have a clone tool, the crosshairs guideline is seriously misjudging the accuracy, and it’s just a bad app all together. I wouldn’t pay the $1.99 for it. Photoshop is better because I only pay $9.99 a month for the Adobe Creative Cloud Photography bundle, and I get Lightroom, Photoshop Express, Fix, and Mix, plus 1TB of storage! I would highly recommend Adobe software over this. Adobe has better tools, higher accuracy, and 24/7 online support. Haha.Version: 4.4.7

DOES NOT WORK!DO NOT GET THIS APP. It doesn’t make photos look normal when objects are removed. It doesn’t even fit in with background or objects near/behind. For example ( when stuck is removed from grass it will not make it look like grass. When stick is removed from grass it would be a weird green that does not take grass color or shape. It would look smooth and ruin the photo.) in some cases this app does work but rarely it ever does. I would recommend not getting this app. It would be a waste of money. Even though it isn’t that much money don’t get it. You might be wondering if this is a computer person but it’s not it is a real person trying to help you save money before you waste it on a app that doesn’t even work!.Version: 4.4.6

Hmmmm?Decent.Version: 4.4.6

Money hungryGreat features, so good that I paid their full flat rate price for this when I first tried it. Suddenly my features have been revoked and usurped for their subscription model “to provide better features.” No, folks, it’s to get more money. I’ll be looking for a different option now..Version: 5.1.0

Bummer v2Apparently the first review was removed when criticizing the new subscription implementation. To continue here's a lame canned response provided to another reviewer who wrote an unfavorable words as the developers kicked him to the curb. "We appreciate your loyalty and are sorry to hear you now feel disappointed and deceived. In now way we meant to cause frustration. On the contrary, we moved to a subscription model to be able to do more for you and keep adding cool new stuff to the app. If we didn't do that, we wouldn't be able to keep supporting TouchRetouch. Please kindly contact us by email — and we'll tell you in more detail about the plans we are offering and a special deal we have for our loyal customers." Talk about hiding behind their original obligations with these comments! It seems Artem and company cannot show the full respect to the people that helped get TouchRetouch started. When such tactics are used it is expected that people will forget about our one-time purchase. Really? People have to email to get information? This is not about any new features offered. This is about keeping your word. Once trust is broken it is sometimes impossible to make things right..Version: 5.1.0

Severely limited without subscriptionThis app was described as “free” but the free version only supports a single save per day. If you have three photos to edit, you’ll need a long weekend to get them done (and only if you don’t make a mistake or forget something). It’s better described as a trial version. I’m giving two stars because the functionality seems fine, it’s just that you can’t really use it without paying more..Version: 5.1.0

Not so goodThis used to be a really useful app but recent upgrades have made it almost useless. It now takes a number to attempts to remove objects - sometimes it even refuses to do anything - and/or leaves a blurred smudge behind - whereas previously it cleanly removed and replaced a realistic background - removing telegraph poles for example was easy. The cursor now sticks to the photo and moves it around while trying to accurately position it for removing an object. It’s also now very slow in operation as though it was doing it in the cloud rather than on your machine. It’s now so irritating compared to how good it used to be that I have given up and usually use other apps instead. A sad demise of what was once my go to app..Version: 5.1.19

🙄.This app does not work at all and I just spent money on it. I am very unhappy with the outcome as when i tried to remove something from a photo it just turned into a blur and ruined the whole picture..Version: 4.4.2

Can’t upload photos to Touch Retouch since fixNow it shows photos uploading but then photo disappears and back to home page or if I do manage to upload and get halfway thru editing, photo disappears.Version: 5.1.19

Very disappointing to see the subscription for customers who purchased this App years ago. It’s saddening but also frustrating to see that as a customer of this app for so many years since it first came out (along with the purchase of HandyPhoto many years ago) this app is now gone to ridiculously expensive subscription. At least the developers should have given the existing customers the option to one time purchase for lifelong usage. But No consideration for existing customers. There are many apps who have turned to subscription model but retained their old customers either totally free or by giving one time in-app purchase to use forever. Utterly disappointing, misleading and unethical..Version: 5.1.0

Eraser tool not workingAlways used touch retouch, but unfortunately the eraser tool no longer works. Have tried deleting and reinstalling but have had no luck. Any ideas?.Version: 5.0.7

Expensive subscription modelThe featured review and other positive reviews clearly talk about this being a one time purchase at a reasonable price like $5 one-time. In reality it lets you load a photo then offers a ‘free trial’. In fact it’s an annual subscription of $15 with first payment starting in a few days time. By digging into the app I was able to cancel the auto renewal so I could try the features for a few days without worry. I was interested in power line removal. For this you tap on each line then tap ‘go’. If you tap more than once, instead of trying to identify the rest of a line, it tracks your fingertip! Most lines were invisibly removable, however one with a cloudy background was converted into a pale streak. This is clearly a powerful and easy to use tool. I’d estimate my usage to be 10 photos per year. $15/year doesn’t make sense to me. With Google offering a free AI retouch app with its phones now, I’d be looking for a more competitive deal..Version: 5.1.2

Absolute GreedyDon’t bother with this App. Photoshop is cheaper and you have more option!.Version: 5.1.0

Soap in the faceDisgusting they did a subscription.Version: 5.1.1

Went downhill after subscription introducedI used this many times until they introduced the subscription service for a few, extra features I really don't need. I fully support companies making money, so they can pay for staff, cover costs and be rewarded for their skills, BUT the point of a freemium service is that the free bits need to be good enough to convert users to paid customers. The free aspect of the service is now super-slow and it fails all the time, which renders the whole thing useless. I have deleted the app and won't be returning..Version: 5.1.23

What a shameBeen using this app for years as a paid customer but now there’s been a clear shift to trying to squeeze more money out of the app by shifting to a subscription model (awful idea btw guys). This compounded with the fact that we still can’t edit a full resolution 48MP picture without it being compressed is borderline funny. It’s an app made to ensure every detail is perfect, BUT, You can only do that if you lose 66% of your detail first lol. I’m glad I bought it years ago when I did for a few £. I’d recommend every potential new customer to stay well away until they start focusing on app features and quality before figuring out scummy ways to try and charge people unnecessarily for what they’re actually getting..Version: 5.1.10

Avoid updatingAVOID UPDATE. The update takes away what you have legitimately purchased and put you in a subscription model. Pure greed and appaulling behaviour from developers as they all try and moves up to cashcow subscriptions. Once you purchase some you own it. Would you accept that behaviour with any other purchase you've made! You should be telling purchasers and for that matter everyone PRIOR to installing and updating that you are moving to subscription and taking away a persons purchase if they update. WE SHOULD BE GIVEN THE CHOICE! what we purchase legitimately we have the RIGHT TO KEEP! Why do software developers not understand this! If you chose to introduce a subscription model it should be a different version and allow the purchaser to keep what they purchased!.Version: 5.1.4

Can’t get on with itI don’t find the app to be that good. I used something that made suggestions of objects to remove, (ie power lines) it was via the edit option in Apple photos and it was literally 1 click, but I have no idea what it was and can’t find it on Google search again- it must have been via an app in the search, as I’ve gone into Apple photos and it doesn’t offer me the same option now. if i didn’t have the edited photo as proof I’d think I’d dreamt it!!!!.Version: 5.1.9

Do better…Not impressed. I purchased app and am now considered “an old friend” with expectation to buy an upgrade to “new friend”. Object removal is hit and miss…::sometimes removes things flawlessly and other times it clones and doesn’t work well at all. I literally use this app all the time for the features it offers and am annoyed that I’m going to have to repurchase. Do better..Version: 5.1.0

Paywalls everywhereWas a nice app till they decided to paywall new features even for people that purchased it for its original ludicrous “lifetime” asking price. No thanks.Version: 5.1.3

Hard to use aplA bit hard to use. Got a bit more user friendly..Version: 4.4.8

Not what it’s advertisedI tried to use the app to take objects out of my pictures but when I tried to edit a person out of my picture, it just ends up distorting me, giving me an extra nose..Version: 4.4.2

Suckered customers into new pricingWith no warning the tool now removes any improvements for customers that paid the “forever” pricing. They tried to make it sound ok by saying you can still USE the tool, but won’t give you any new functionality they give people who now pay more. If I wanted to pay more each year for this app I would have purchased the yearly plan from the beginning. At this point I would just want my money back from the original purchase and not use the tool anymore. #badbusinessdecisions.Version: 5.1.0

Subscription IssuesI used to love this app, then a subscription was introduced which I paid the offer price for from my iPad, when I opened the app on my iPhone I was charged again at full price! I contacted the developers and they looked into it for me, they very kindly gave me a free trial for all the trouble. However, my free subscription is asking me to subscribe to use the new features! I have contacted the developers three times and included screen shoots. Since being on a free subscription all my emails have been ignored, I cannot say how disappointed I am and have now lost all faith in the app and the developers..Version: 5.1.9

Disappointing they’ve gone down the subscription routeI’ve been using this app for many years, it has been and still is an excellent app. However I’m really disappointed now they’ve gone down the (admittedly inexpensive) subscription route. The app itself isn’t expensive but like most companies nowadays this just seems like a way to milk their customers of cash. This is far far from the worst of companies (Adobe I’m looking at you) for doing this but what was wrong with the old business model of a one off purchase price for full functionality and then if there was some major updates/overhaul then a new version/product is released. Then it’s up to the end user if they wish to purchase the new version or stick with their original full function purchase. Subscription models are just corporate greed at the end of day but this is saturating into every market (heated seats anyone BMW?).Version: 5.1.3

App Not Available To Family DevicesI use some devices with different apple ids (all under the same apple family) and would love to be able to access my paid subscription on those devices. Perhaps creating a login so that is possible?.Version: 5.1.0

Dual payment issuesThere is a fee to download the app and over that you have to get a subscription.Version: 5.1.5

Disappointed with the direction the team is taking this appDisclaimer: I paid for TouchRetouch years ago, but I’ve also been a TestFlight beta tester for AdvaSoft’s other apps. I love this app, I really do. It’s one of the most useful tools for photo editing I have. If I was writing this a few months ago, it’d be a perfect five stars. But I’m extremely disappointed that the folks at AdvaSoft are changing course with how their apps make a profit. I’m a firm believer that if I pay for something, I should own it. Whether it’s a phone, a house, or a toy car, I want to know that the money I put towards it gives me ownership over it. But subscription based services go in the opposite direction; they have you pay monthly to use a product with promises of future updates and special features. But in the end, if that service goes down the drain, you’re left owning nothing. Halide has taken this route, Clip Studio has taken this route, and now TouchRetouch has taken this route. It’s sad to see..Version: 5.1.0
