✓ Love it for the Batman comics but...I wish the comics were less expensive.. £1.49 for each comic racks up after a while - especially if the whole series is 18 comics long. Also when you look for a comic in a series they're usually not in chronological order, this makes it hard for a customer to find the comic that they want. The actual quality of the comics is brilliant though, it would definitely be 5/5 if it didn't have these problems..Version: 3.2
✓ Expensive but fantasticI wish the comics were a little cheaper, the entire Convergence event is like $200 to collect, but the app itself is really well made. Comics look awesome. ✓ Love This App!I would love to collect real paper issues but I don't have the appropriate space to store them safely, or even know of any comic books stores local to me in the UK. ✓ Great AppI was excited that DC finally came out with an app, and after using it, I like it a lot. The interface is very easy to navigate, and when reading a comic book, the guided reading option is great. I was worried that the iPhone screen would be too small for this to work well, but it's not, and I'm sure the experience is even better on an iPad. I have experienced none of the crashing problems other reviewers have mentioned running this app on a 3GS with iOS 4. My one problem with the app is the selection of books DC has available for purchase. It is all older stuff that I already own in hard copy, and I don't want to pay for it again in e-form. DC needs to get this weeks stuff up each Wednesday as it's hitting the stores, or at least within a week or two of the paper version coming out. I'm an older fan who's been reading comics for 40 years, and I don't really care about collecting anymore, I just enjoy the stories. If I could buy digital versions, it would save me the trouble of going to the store and storing them afterwards. Once the new stuff comes out concurrently with the paper versions, that's all I'll buy. I'm giving it 4 stars for now, but will change it to 5 when that happens. This app is free, and it has a bunch of free issues In it, so download it and check it out. You've got nothing to lose..Version: 0
✓ Great way to read comicsI am delighted with this app on my iPad. I have downloaded and read the Dark Knight Returns for just under £8. That's about £7 cheaper than buying the graphic novel! I think this might be a stroke of luck since the cost of comics generally seems to be quite high when considering there is no printing and transport involved and you don't physically own anything! Anyway, as I said, I am delighted by taking a trip down memory lane and reading one of the great comics again. And reading it on an iPad is totally amazing. I might be tempted to download a few more of the "greats" soon. Also, the app has worked perfectly for me so far on iPad! ✓ BrilliantThis app is fantastic! You pay less for the comics than you would for the paper ones, which makes perfect sense. It also makes sense that they charge the cover price at launch and lower the price a month or so later. Marvel makes you pay five bucks, DC makes you pay two. I also like the age recommendations. If I see 17 plus, I won't download as my younger siblings sometimes read them. I also like it how you can get some for free. Take the DC holiday special, for example. Or the Batman Black and White. Its also good because you only need wifi while you are downloading. It builds the library on your device so you can read them off line. The only irritating things are that it takes FOREVER to download the first couple of comics and that if you don't have wifi, it erases your library while updating. Great app!
