Busuu: Language Learning for Negative User Reviews

Not for meSo, I started the trial and I liked busuu, but as I progressed through the program I found I needed to go back to previous lessons a lot, which isn’t very easy to do without interrupting and having to restart your current lesson. That made review pretty difficult. I also was dismayed at how quickly my “fluency” rating was increasing despite the fact I continuously needed to review old material. I finally felt I wasn’t really learning much. Plus, you aren’t really taught the written languages. The hiragana and katakana seem to be included incidentally, and kanji get thrown in randomly without explanation. I hate to say this, but at least for me I found better resources Learn Japanese!!, Learn Japanese!-Kanji and Learn Japanese!!! seem to really be in tune with modern learning techniques, force you to review items you make mistakes on more often, and uses SRS review methods. You don’t need to know what SRS means, but it’s damned clever and really reinforces what you have learned. Also, Anki is great for memorizing the Japanese alphabets, it’s REALLY important to learn those first if you are even a little bit serious about learning Japanese. I think busuu could really improve itself if it took a few pages from these other programs. If they did that, and I had a chance to review the program again, I would like the chance to delete this review and give them the stars I wanted to when I first downloaded the program..Version: 15.3.0

Bullying is a problemWhat started off as a fun experience learning a new language and helping others learn, turned into quite a sour experience. I used to use it for hours a week because it’s addictive!! However, after witnessing so many abusive comments by bullies it became an app I dreaded using knowing I’ll probably come across these types of comments. It’s off putting, seeing how nasty people can be to those who are trying to learn, and getting away with it. I’ve tried reaching out to the Busuu team to address my concerns and it’s been a couple of months now, and unfortunately, no response. Even if people can report/flag problematic comments, what’s the point of it doesn’t get deleted? Or reviewed? The bullies may very well be in the minority, but since it’s so easy to verbally abuse, that minority can easily impact and discourage a lot of users. I haven’t used the app in a while because I hate having to see these comments whilst trying to help others with learning English. Actively engaged moderators would be nice..Version: 22.11.0

Excellent Spanish, Italian, French, German courses. Russian course is terrible!I enjoy the well-designed courses for Spanish, Italian, French, German - the four languages that Busuu issues level certificates. I tried its Russian course - BIG difference and disappointment! The course was good for only the first 10 lessons at A1 level, after that there was no explanations for grammar, and all the “lessons” are just like a phrase book with some very random stuff put together..Version: 24.0.0

Like the app but…I like Busuu but I hate the fact that you have to pay EVERY MONTH just to learn a language! I’m trying to learn Japanese and I’m impressed I’m actually pretty good and it’s my dream to travel to Japan and live there one day! Some people don’t have the money or don’t want to spend money just to learn a language! Maybe it’s a requirement for a job or maybe you plan on traveling to that place and what if you can’t speak enough of that language to get bye? That’s pure disrespect! I refuse to pay just to learn Japanese I’m trying to become fluent and I’m not even close because I have to pay! I’m not buying anything just to learn a language that’s wrong! Not everyone has the money for it and some people are required to speak a language! Paying every month to speak a new language??? That’s CRAZY! Please change this not everyone has the time to search the whole App Store just to learn a language! Busuu is a great app but it’d be way better if you didn’t have to PAY! Nobody wants to spend money every month so they could learn a language not everyone has that type of money! I’m ashamed… Please fix it as FAST as possible!.Version: 24.19.0

BUSUUI am enjoying the program a lot. It covers both grammar and vocabulary very well and I am learning a lot. However, I have two major criticisms, 1. When I booked for a live tutor, despite accessing all work in the app, the link didn’t work. I tried to email BUSUU, but had no response. I was charged for the session. Obviously, I haven't scheduled anymore which is disappointing. 2. I have completed both mini exams at the end of the first two stages and requested a certificate. Despite confirming these would be sent they haven’t been. Again, very poor service. In summary, I would give four stars for the course content and app, but nil on service and accessibility to a responsible contact within BUSUU.Version: 24.12.0

Why no reviews in upper levels?I like Busuu a lot. Finished the French course and can talk to my french friends easily. But the thing that bothers me a lot is why there are reviews in the first levels and not in the following levels? Don’t we need reviews as we move up? And also when I want to refresh the topics that I finished, reviews are quite helpful. So, in the future, will we see reviews in the other levels as well? Does Busuu team have an agenda about this issue?.Version: 15.7.1

Very expensiveWe are poor and we can’t pay too much money for it.Version: 23.1.0

Pretty good but…Since this app teaches you Japanese, I thought I’d give it a try because I really would like to know it. But as I progressed thru the stages (all in the same day which may be the problem) at stage 6 it read “Premium needed to progress” and as I’m a broke high school student I cannot afford such expenses. And if this is the case where the only way to proceed is paying, Dulingo would be better then this.Version: 23.7.0

Très bonne application!Pour apprendre une langue et non seulement des mots, Busuu constitue un bon choix mais attention au renouvellement automatique sans aucun avis. Je considère cette pratique commercialement douteuse..Version: 22.19.0

ExpensiveThis app is good up to a point. I have used it to help me learn Spanish and at a basic and improvers level it is good. However, after a certain point it becomes much more difficult because all the instructions and explanations of difficult grammar points are in Spanish. I soon found myself struggling to understand the explanations let alone the grammar being taught. I therefore pretty much gave up and only went in occasionally to revise vocabulary. My expensive mistake was that I forgot to cancel my subscription. I had used the free trial and then a half-price annual subscription. I didn’t cancel and was charged full price (£70) for the next year. On the day of renewal I contacted support to say that it was my mistake, explained that I seldom used the program any more and was going to delete it, and asked if I could have a refund. They wouldn’t budge. Auto-renew means auto-renew. No exceptions or excuses. So be careful. If you take it on a special offer - make sure to CANCEL!.Version: 20.14.0

Great but a few bugs - updateI commented some months ago about the Busuu iPad app not showing corrections to exercises in green (see below for why that matters). In spite of several app updates they haven’t fixed the bug. The advice from Busuu themselves is that the desktop version of Busuu will clearly show corrected text in green but the app won’t. I am a great fan of Busuu but am mystified why after months and months they have not fixed the app bug. It makes a big difference to language learners and makes users’ efforts to help less effective. Previous review: Generally this app is excellent but the latest update introduced a few bugs for iPad users. First when someone corrects your work the changes are no longer always highlighted in green. This makes any alterations much less obvious and you have to compare your version word for word against the corrected version. The green highlighting works for some people but not for others! Secondly when you check someone’s work Busuu changed the text box you write in to a ticker tape. In the old box you could see everything and correct any typos. In the new version moving round the ticker tape line is trickier. So errors can slip past you because they aren’t visible on the screen. Still good for learning languages but I hope they can return to the previously reliable functionality soon. It’s irritating at the moment!.Version: 25.16.1

Beware of "trial period"Not like other trial periods that only charge you after the expiration of the trial period. Busuu charges you immediately on commiting to the trial period. No easy way to get a refund during the trial period other than requesting through Apple. I find this practice to unfairly weigh on the consumer keeping track of time for one, I mean, if you try this app put a note in your calender and if you don't intend to continue you need to cancel on day 5 to allow up to 48 hours advance processing time. I'll put this out there that this process will be banned in the future by Apple. For the time being, be careful of this method to enforce subscription and encourage breakage. Most companies do not count gift certificates and store credits as earnings, keeping them as liabilities, with offsetting assets in the form of cash already collected. How sweet is it for a company to simply determine that a certain percentage of its trade liabilities will never have to be paid? That's breakage. If you pay and don't use your subscription, that's breakage..Version: 21.6.0

Good app, but no option to mute or blockBusuu is overall a decent app with well-structured lessons, a clear linear progression (which some may find a bit slow). There is a good balance of audio input and output, and a choice of written and speaking exercises. Unlike other apps like Duolingo, it does not eschew grammatical explanations and these are evenly spaced out through the lessons. So if you like the interactive experience of apps but don’t want to forego grammar completely in favour of 'assimilation’ or intuition, this app is for you. One of the best ‘ social’ features is the ability to interact with other members through the option of correcting their exercises, and you’ll be invited to do the same. Participation is optional of course. Some cons: 1) There is no option to either block or mute other members you’d rather NOT interact with. 2) The app lacks a pause function for the audio exercises, so you have to listen to the end and replay..Version: 22.9.1

Very disappointedAutomatically renewed without any notifications, and refuse to refund even when I cancelled it on the expiry date. I know the company say they stated it ‘everywhere’ when you sign up. But first of all, you can’t cancel your subscription on the app, not from app store account, you have to go to their website log in your account and cancel it. Second, most of businesses will notify you when it’s close to expiry date, this one apparently choose not to do it. To me these whole auto renew thing is just a scam. I’ve been suing it for quite a few months, initially it was working fine for me, but the more I study, I more I find it not so helpful, it might be just me, but that’s why I stoped using it, and now with all these, I never want to use it again..Version: 21.0.1

Don’t buyAlthough this app is very nice and easy to use, I was very disappointed to find that even though I bought the premium version to use offline, it did not work as advertised. I downloaded several lessons - or thought I had- but when I tried to use the app it required an internet service. As I had specifically bought it for an occasion when I was without internet for 10 days, this was very disappointing. Even worse was that when I wrote and complained I was simply given the information as to how to cancel my subscription- no explanation or apology. I think I will report this to Apple as false advertising. Very disappointed..Version: 14.9

Poor.Update: I’m not minded to persist with this app - I’ve found it counter-intuitive to use, and while it’s flattering that my existing skills/knowledge/ability are rated highly, it’s frustrating to try to go back and “revise” earlier material (which I was adjudged to have completed) only to be locked out by a paywall. Other reviewers have made comparisons with DuoLingo. DuoLingo has many flaws - annoyingly American in much of its content, often unrealistic or unlikely content, complete lack of grammar tips in some languages. But in its favour, you can work through DuoLingo for free - and anything that’s free I can almost afford. Sure there are ads (many of which try the patience) and there are prompts and reminders to sign up for fee-paying, but when it comes right down to it Duo (unlike Busuu) NEVER locks you out of content just because you’re skint! Probably going to delete Busuu very soon. ——- Not impressed, I’m afraid. One of the very first exercises I attempted was multiple-choice; two options were offered for the completion of a sentence, but neither of them was the correct answer, so the only way to progress to the next exercise was to submit incorrect answers, repeatedly. I’d love to support this, especially as it seems not to have the American-English bias of some of its rivals, but I’m afraid on this first encounter I can only say “must try harder”..Version: 21.5.0

Short comings spoil experienceUpdate: I’m done with this app. I really can’t be dealing with Busuu’s mistakes when it affects the ability to learn. Random words are not accepted as correct in the review sections, 新聞 is wrong but しんぶん is correct? 大判の新聞 is incorrect, おおばんのしんぶん is also incorrect as only おおばん の しんぶん with the spaces included is accepted as a correct answer. The conversations are still completely written in hiragana with no option to read kanji. How is anyone meant to progress learning their Japanese if the app just becomes a mess once you move past A1. This is a good app for learning language but a few persistent errors make its frustrating to use. Doing my word reviews there are often mistakes between what is spoken/written and what You get a correct answer for. It’s really annoying to have to remember which sentences I have to listen to 彼らは but change it to 彼は simply because Busuu is mixed up. Another example is some grammar when you’ll hear 午後に新聞 being said and making sense, however it seems to only accept 午後新聞. LingoDeer gives the user the option to contest answers and say ‘my answer was correct’, a feature that is very useful but also I never need to use. The more time I spend on Busuu, the more frequent these issues crop up. It’d also be nice on the review section to see both the English and Japanese translation or at least have some settings to set personal preferences, especially when they’re charging £80 a year..Version: 22.0.0

Excellent Learning Tool!Updated: 05/22. About 6 months ago the app introduced an upgrade that ruined one of the most important features: correcting others’ written exercises. Corrections are no longer highlighted making it near impossible to learn from others users help. So sad. I assumed this would be fixed right away, but it has not. I loved this app before and renewed my subscription for another year, before the update that ruined it. My renewal turned into a waste of money. —————————- This covers all the beginner/intermediate grammar topics for Spanish and has lots of exercises. The best part of this app is the ability to practice writing and receiving feedback from native language speakers. This feature took my learning to another level of skill and confidence! I have finished all the lessons, but I am still getting value out of the well structured review program (but see below). Spanish language levels A1 and A2 are outstanding. The quality of the Spanish lessons starts to drop off with B1. And B2 is very poor instructionally. So sad to finally get there and find that Busuu did not invest much in this level from an instructional perspective. Also, the Review function of this app is great for A1 and A2. So-so for B1 and nonexistent for B2. I still give the app 4 stars because of how great it is for beginners and lower intermediate level learners, which is the bulk of Busuu users..Version: 25.14.0

Written with an idealized middle class in mindThis program gets right to the point, and gives the impression that you’re learning quite quickly. Vocabulary is absorbed and spat out at breakneck speed. I prefer the pace to Duolingo’s snail’s pace. However the content feels a little silly for the learning level I’m at. The app seems almost exclusively geared to upper middle class business people in what it talks about. Lots of office-related vocabulary, and the people in the example photos are conventionally attractive magazine types. For my level (beginner) and my job (musician), this type of vocabulary is really not what I need to learn at all. It seems as though the people who program the app are doing it with Sims in mind, gearing content towards sitcom people who don’t exist in real life. The conversations in the examples are always between a male and female speaker in their mid 30s. In the beginning content, I would love to learn about the names of the rooms in a house, how to get directions and what a street is called. I works like more in depth info on how to talk about family members or people of different age groups. This fast pace gives the impression of learning quickly, but in actuality there are huge gaps in the learning and it feels a little silly to be learning how to talk about meetings in the board room when I can’t say ‘door’ or ‘hallway’..Version: 27.23.0

Bad experienceI was told by Busuu that they will send me a reminder on a 5th day of my “7 day free trial”. I checked my email and spam folder - nothing is there. Please, give me my money back. I would cancel my subscription in advance if I get a reminder as was promised by you.Version: 27.36.0

Limited functionality with voiceover screen readerI just tried this app on the recommendation of a friend and I like what I see for the most part. I did the placement test and while it worked mostly, the put the words in order questions and other similar ones do not work with the voiceover screen reader. Also anything that depends on a picture to determine what you need to say when you fill in the blank does not work with a screen reader. The questions that are putting words in order or similar could easily be resolved by having the tiles which display the words be labeled properly so that voiceover recognizes them as controls it can interact with. The pictures could be sorted out by including a caption describing in English what they portray. Please consult apples accessibility guidelines for more information on how to improve accessibility for all. This app looks really good, and if these issues are corrected promptly I would not be opposed to paying for the premium version, but as it is now, I would have limited effectiveness from this app since a chunk of the questions are not accessible to me..Version: 27.28.0

Version: 27.36.0

Poor UXAn update. More annoying issues. After a certain level all instructions are in the language you’re trying to learn with no option to translate. What good is this? If you can’t understand the foundational principles clearly how on earth do you expect us to learn effectively? Crazy. So why don’t you take a screen shot and google translate? Because the poor UX means you get kicked out the App and reset back to the beginning of the lesson if you try (aside from the hugely annoying need to do this)! Was this designed specifically to be annoying?? Sorry, this is now a two star app for me. I’d throw it away if it hadn’t forked out so much money for it. —————/ Nice idea poorly executed. -Annoying inability for the app to remember where you left off in-lesson. They could learn from DuoLingo which is good at this. -Quite a few of the Audio recordings are poor quality and sound muffled. Not helpful when you’re trying to learn. -If, like me, you like repeating words/phrases/concepts many times over until it sticks, this isn’t the app for you. It gives you just enough repeats not to be useful. -There’s a disconnection in complexity between the recap sessions what you’re taught in a lot of cases. This is even more annoying when you get reset halfway through a lesson after consulting other sources to find the right answer. Generally the app feels quite rough around the edges, not good enough for a paying app. Lots of work to be done..Version: 20.7.0

Should add Thai languageHi there Busuu, I recently have been using your app to study Korean and it is FABULOUS! This app is the best language studying app on the whole phone generation i have learnt soo much, but i feel like many people would like a Thai language to study because its getting popular and harder to find other apps with proper teaching so i think Busuu would improve a lot more with more languages such as Thailand/Thai which i am also looking forwards to study! Thank you so much for creating an amazing app i hope you are able to add Thai language soon!!.Version: 27.22.0

Better Features, Better Learning - Needs Better ITI really like Busuu. I’m using it to learn Spanish, German and Japanese. It’s great for building conversational skills and doesn’t teach you random words like some other apps. It starts basic and gets more specific. It’s really fun to help correct other users exercises and get feedback! You can also set an intention by choosing to learn general Spanish or German for travel (this is true with the other languages too). In this way Busuu allows for focused learning Busuu, also allows you to take placments tests anytime while learning! Probably the best thing is that you can make as many mistakes as you want without penalty. There are some things left to be desired. I do wish that this app had more features like some of its competitors. It would be nice if it had games or challenges. Even tho Busuu encourages you to learn at your own pace, the competitive aspect is great motivation on other apps. There are some bigger problems. After some inactivity I lost all my progress on Japanese. IT was not helpful. They insisted that I must have another account. I don’t. I restored progress on my other languages but not Japanese. After wards they gave up on me and I gave up on the app. It’s really discouraging when you have to start over and my heart is somewhat hurt..Version: 27.27.0

Trop décousu,la traduction ne colle pas aux mots.Voilà.Version: 27.36.0

Free version is uselessAfter checking it out for less than two minutes this app was an instant delete. I saw it on a sponsored video from a youtuber and wanted to try the free version out. The only feature available was the lessons and every single one at the intermediate and upper intermediate levels was locked. Didn't even ask my level and put me straight onto a lesson on how to say "konnichi wa" 🤦🏻‍♀️.Version: 23.5.0

Poor app, inflated marks, limited contentThe app gives false marks to mạe students feel better. Content is very limited and quickly fun out. Avoid!.Version: 22.17.0

Not as free as it saysIt’s a very good app and I’m learning the context behind certain but the ads are sickening. It says it free but you have to watch an ad to unlock each lesson or pay nearly a $100 which is already “half off”. Would still recommend it just know what you’re getting into cause I was fooled by their “free”..Version: 27.35.0

So, I’ve found it’s great to a point…I was using Busuu to learn their Japanese course and at first it was great. For teaching me the basic characters (the two basic alphabets Hirigana and Katana), some basic early vocabulary and grammar I found it great! But around the time it starts teaching Kanji the lessons become less interesting and though I was investing the same amount of time I found my progress completely plateaued. For the early stages it is definitely great but for not much more than that (at least for the Japanese course). I instead turned to the Japanese From Zero textbook course and I find that a more consistent method during its basic and more challenging later sections. On top of that, for learning Kanji there are a couple of great FREE apps like…”Kanji” which I have found incredibly effective. So overall, great at the start as like a way to get into the language as it’s quite approachable, but beyond that look to start an actual textbook course and use some supplementary support for correct pronunciation (Japanese Anime is a great place to start) as well as some SRS tools for learning Kanji and Vocab. Hope this was helpful 😁.Version: 25.23.0

Very janky Japanese courseI'm just going to get straight into it: 1: There is no kanji even at the advanced level which is really an inexcusable omission. Conversation exercises give me a headache trying to read them without the kanji. 2: Conversation exercises slap you with tons of new grammar that the course never bothers to teach you at least not as far as I've seen, it's confusing and unhelpful 3: I'm increasingly suspicious that the Japanese taught on here isn't even correct, from my understanding some words like karera and kanojyo aren't even used in day to day speech except very rarely and the app makes it sound like they're used all the time. 4: "Weak word review" bizarrely DOES accept kanji and depending on the question will either require you answer all in hiragana or it will accept kanji. This is very confusing and renders the feature almost unusable. 5: You aren't prepared for the exercises that you can submit for correction, to the point where I've had to just guess how I'm supposed to answer or look at other source material for the answer. That's just bad design. All in all it feels like it was hastily thrown together. It's a shame because I love the app itself (the corrections system in particular) but I just can't overlook these flaws anymore. It could be a good Japanese course if they just fixed these basic flaws..Version: 19.1.0

L’application bloqueBien que j’ai payé pour la version premium, l’application a bloqué et je tourne en rond dans les mêmes exercices..Version: 27.35.0

Not immersive enoughMy biggest gripe with any language learning app is there is waaay to much English (my native language) in the lessons. This app is no different. It’s so much harder for my brain to go back and forth between two different languages, rather than just being immersed in one language and not having to go back and forth. This is the way we learn as babies and this is the way that works for me. The first 3 flashcards were 3 different new Japanese words and the 4th flashcard was an English question, “This means ___. True or False.” Nooooo. I just had one card telling me a word and then two other cards of two different words and now you’re quizzing me in English? Just no. And then the next card was a sentence in Japanese asking again in English, what did I hear. If I listen to the same word and see the pictures, that’s all I need. No English. No quizzing. Just speaking and listening. If I want a translator, then I worry more about reading and writing. I don’t want a translator. I want a program that actually teaches me a language first. The reading and writing come last. So far, there is only one application that comes close to this. At the very least, I wish there was a way in this app and many other apps to have the option to only speak and listen first..Version: 15.3.0

Watch out - Busuu may re-subscribe you without your agreement or knowledgeI purchased via the Apple App Store and canceled prior to the end of the subscription period. This led to my access being removed even though I had time left on my subscription. I contacted Busuu to fix this, which they did. However they fixed my subscription by subscribing me via their website without my knowledge, and in doing so, re-activated the automatic renewal process without my agreement. At the end of the subscription period I got charged, even though I had canceled the automatic renewal process and had not subscribed via the website. Signing up individuals to an automatic renewal that they had already made the effort to cancel is questionable business practice. My requests for a refund are being ignored..Version: 22.17.0

Not great for Chinese Mandarin after Beginner A1 CoursesI was really enjoying this app and the social aspects. I have found the corrections and friends features to make this a very enjoyable learning experience. Upon completing the Beginner A1 16 Lessons I had considered purchasing the app … the grammar, teaching, hanzi, and exercises were effective and well implemented. Then I began A2 and the Bussu bus wheels fell off … and the bus went into the ditch. A2 levels have no teaching, no grammar … nothing … and the leap from A1 to A2 is insane … it’s like going from kindergarten to university. The sentence structure become extremely advanced and all they teach is vocabulary words that may or may not matter to your intended use of Chinese Mandarin. No more teaching Hanzi / radicals or writing. I am disappointed and won’t be purchasing the app nor do I think I will use it for learning … I still login to provide corrections to my friends. It really feels like no effort or quality was put in the lessons after A1. It genuinely feels like the app authors said let’s just make content for content sake with no further thought about continuing the great material format. For learning Chinese Mandarin A1 lessons use the app … then delete it..Version: 27.35.0

Very disappointing customer serviceI downloaded this application quite some time ago and used it for a short while but ultimately found it did not meet my learning needs in any way. I deleted the app. The other day I received a notification that my subscription had been renewed. I received no prior notification that the subscription was active and that a renewal would occur, which I typically get for many of my other subscriptions (e.g my Economist subscription and various bills). I emailed them straight away on receiving this notification to state that I wanted a refund as I had already needlessly paid for a year of this service. Additionally I thought I HAD already cancelled this service and I received no prior warning of the funds being deducted. As I found this service useless to begin with, I hardly want to pay for another year of it. The response I received was that this was only refundable 7 days after the initial purchase one year ago. I don’t mind paying for the first year but I do strongly object to this obvious cash grab that would leave many people short of cash just because they forgot to cancel. It doesn’t take much to send an email prior to warn people..Version: 20.13.0

A Promising Language Learning ToolI’ve been using Busuu for around 3 months now, with the premium plus membership for my learning of Japanese. The A1 and A2 courses are really really useful and they foster a genuine love for the language you’re studying. I do, however, have several complaints about the B1 and B2 courses. Throughout A1 & 2 Busuu teaches you around 100 Kanji, and it does this really well, but as soon as you get into intermediate territory, it bombards you with Kanji you can’t read but still expects you to simply just know them when it hasn’t taught you them. Another complaint of mine is that it claims to allow you to take a series of tests in your chosen language, but I have only been able to take the A1 test, therefore I am stuck at around 80% fluency (because the tests boost your fluency rating). The B2 course resolves your learning journey with 20+ just vocabulary lessons filled with words you’re likely never going to actually use, with exercises that are all in Kanji you can’t read. I would recommend using this app up until B1, go somewhere else and learn more; then return to Busuu to do B1&2..Version: 24.17.0

Just one problemOkay, so almost everything about the app is great and all but there’s one issue... Recently, my account has been acting up. Im the type of person that moves from one home to another to another and then back to the first home. FYI:I have the internet connected to all of them. Anyways, every since a month ago, I haven’t been able to learn. I open the app just as usual, go to the lesson, and click the start lesson button thing. But after doing that, Busuu tells me that I’m not connected to the internet and that I can use it if I’m offline. So, I’ve been deleting the app, downloading it, deleting it and so forth. Although that method works, it makes things very difficult for me. I also have the membership premium so I don’t want to quit it. But, since a few days ago, the app as been lagging and repeating the problem(said above)much, much, more frequently. Like on a daily basis. Even though these few days I haven’t been switching between homes. I’m sincerely hoping that the app will sometimes fix itself because I truly do enjoy using this app. But other than that, the app is really great :).Version: 24.3.0

Nowhere near as good as DUOLINGO.I thought I'd try this app as a different way to analyse my German skills. I have found that this app does not give you enough teaching to be able to be called a course. You are given an array of three to four words to learn and only ever use one in a sentence. And you have to pay for a membership to be able to take any tests. It also doesn't offer a translation of the phrases that you encounter. If you are looking to learn a language, I would recommend DUOLINGO instead, as it is not only a completely free app, but you are actually taught more of the language, translation for all phrases, and have different exercises to test your language knowledge. I will be uninstalling this app and not recommending it, it's practically useless in comparison to DUOLINGO. The only good thing about this app is the ability to pass phrasings onto other members, but even then when I posted a correction on a post I was harassed by a Chinese man chatting me up! Busuu needs to monitor this. I'd recommend to AVOID this app..Version: 15.6.0
