Good AppThis is a good, reliable app. Could do with more detailed information but it is helpful,.Version: 1.3

Excellent!Really great instant preview of all vintages from all over the world. Very useful when you need a help choosing a wine in the restaurant. ;-).Version: 1.3

New and Improved!I have had this app for years and wow what an improvement! Functional yet beautiful, this is truly one of my favorite apps and I have suggested it to all of my girlfriends. It is so easy to use and the product designer who created the update deserves a raise! BEAUTIFULLY done and you can tell what hard work went into it..Version: 6.0.1

Love the info in this format! While I have a subscription to the magazine and website, I love how handy this app is. I can't tell you how many times I've pulled this app out when I'm in a restaurant trying to pick out a bottle of wine. Especially when traveling abroad recently, when I didn't recognize a single bottle of wine on the list (and I usually feel like I know my way around a wine list). It was so helpful to have this app! My other favorite use is to mark "favorite" wines and then I have a shopping list for when I go to a wine shop..Version: 4.0.1

Why use the chartsIt is great to be able to quickly get an insight into the regional performance for each vintage..Version: 1.3

Very helpfulI work in the wine industry and I have to say that this is a very informative and helpful app. It is great to have an on hand reference for general analysis of vintage quality in prominent wine producing regions. That being said, I do have A couple points of constructive criticism: 1.) there are some generalizations about AVAs that could be fixed. For instance, listing the same in depth vintage reports for Paso Robles and the entirety of the Central Coast of California. 2.) While I realize that even in the Southern hemisphere the 2010 vintage is a little new to have been comprehensively reviewed, it would be nice to have a preliminary analysis. Hopefully this will be addressed in the next update. Overall, however, a wonderful free app for basic information about quality of vintages for major wine producing regions that are commercially available on the West coast of California..Version: 1.3

Love it!I was always a fan of the Vintage Chart card that Wine Spectator put out in the magazine once a year, but now I have it on the iPhone. Sometimes all I want to know about a wine/region is: was it a good year. This app does that. there are a multitude of of apps that give detailed reviews, but most are cumbersome, unwieldy and most often, don't have the data on the wine you are looking for. This app is simple and to the point. Biggest complaint: they should decide if they are going to sort Regions/Appellations by important or alphabetically. I vote alphabetically, I know how to read..Version: 0

Serviceable Wine AppIgnore all the crybaby people who complain that the app costs money. If you want value and quality, you pay for it. Obviously. You want free, crappy reviews from non-experts, have a good time. You want discussions and ratings from world renowned connoisseurs, pay for the app. On that same note, the free content has many wonderful articles and expert advice. I have removed one star because there is confusion about what content is on what source and there is no way to get an easy answer. I want to be able to have one source, pay one fee and have access to everything..Version: 5.1.2

MrVery good apps to use if you want the right wine for your food..Version: 1.3

App will not loadI downloaded the app. When I try to subscribe, it just spins infinitely. This occurs on my phone and iPad. Not worth the frustration..Version: 6.5.0

Great quick summaryGood level of info for beginners. V easy to use. Great as a quick general reference. Would be great to have a little more detail in comments sections particularly for France..Version: 1.3

VinoGreat app - and it's free! Has proved absolutely invaluable when looking for wine in supermarkets, restaurants etc. Really pleased with this and refer to it often! Far too often according to my wife!.Version: 0

Every wine was been awesomeI’ve bought three bottles of wine so far thanks to discoveries on this app, and all of them have been exceptional! Waaaay more reliable than crowd-sourced wine apps where every wine is 3.5 stars. The reviews here read like poetry—I know exactly what the wine will taste like, and find myself rereading the descriptions as I’m drinking to help me detect new flavors. The user interface is gorgeous and easy to use, and I’ve already created wine lists for gift giving, buying again and wines I want to try. A+ app design!.Version: 6.0.2

Great quick guide when your out and aboutGenerally found this app very useful, not the most definitive guide but very useful all the same, must have free app.Version: 1.3

Fantastic AppI’ve been using other wine apps for years, but I find it difficult to gauge if I’ll like something based on a crowdsourced review. With WR+ I know I’m getting an expert’s opinion and rating! I love that I can save and favorite wines- it makes shopping so much easier because I already have a list with options. Definitely recommend downloading- worth every penny!!!!.Version: 6.0.4

Comprehensive, reliable guideTwo flaws - 1995 Bordeaux vintage has been left out by accident. And more examples would be helpful for people who don't know by heart e.g. which parts of Bordeaux are left bank and which are right. Only a few examples are listed in the description..Version: 5.1.0

Nice App,It doesn't worry me that the App doesn't cover Australia and NZ properly. I can get that elsewhere. It does cover Europe and America very well and accurately in my opinion. Easy to use..Version: 0

Great indexVery handy to have when shopping or ordering in restaurant.Version: 1.3

Wine expert in your pocketI’ve been a happy user for years — but wow this refresh is almost like a brand-new app. Gorgeous design. Search is even easier and faster than before. More wine labels. More curated searches. More of everything that helps me find the wine I’m looking for in seconds. And as always, the most consistent and helpful wine ratings in the business. Excellent work Wine Spectator..Version: 6.0.2

Great referenceBaby steps... Wine is so complicated and overwhelming that one needs to take baby steps to narrow the ocean or choices. And that is what this guide does: it helps you narrow down (a little) the choices between good and so so years. I use it when I am discovering a new wine. Once I am a little more familiar with the wine region and grape, I can venture outside of this guide to look for better deals. (because everyone is buying the good ones from the good years...). The fun part starts when you can get RID of this guide. In a few words: a great guide, and as with all great guides, the sooner you can break free from it, the better..Version: 1.3

Costs less than a reasonable bottle of wineThe app is great - it always bemuses me that consumers moan about prices without putting it in context. If it saves you from buying the wrong bottle of wine you may get the app "for fee" for a number of years..Version: v2.01

Beautifully-designed and easy to useI downloaded this app because I love wine, but I’m not a connoisseur. The app is pleasing to the eye and easy to navigate! My favorite parts are the “Newest Values” lists-I’ll definitely use these when I go to the wine store. I also love that I can create my own lists. When quarantine ends, I hope to visit wineries in California and will create a list for Napa, Sonoma, etc. Thank you WS!.Version: 6.0.1

Wine connoisseurs rejoice !Am a self confessed wine aficionado n found this app very helpful..will be able to make appropriate selections henceforth..very informative n yet brief n crisp...Version: 1.3

Animo 2016, Napa valley,Cabernet SauvignonNapa Valley- Cabernet Sauvignon.Version: 6.4.7

Does exactly what is says on the bottle!Great reference app. Does exactly what it says - gives you vintage information in a fun interactive manner. The WS360 are also intersecting and a nice bonus..Version: 0

Del Dotto 2011 cabMuch derided vintage. This is doing well at 10 years. Light color full sensuous nose. Blackberry slight black licorice and fruit finish long on the mid- palette. Good for another 5 years. Drink through 2026..Version: 6.1.4

All you really needPoints you in the right direction for free. Great!.Version: 1.3

Love Wine Spectator! This app is terrific!! Makes looking up wines to read reviews and see scores easy! Convenient for wine shops and restaurants!!.Version: 6.5.0

Quit whiningThis is less a review and more a comment on most reviewers of this app. Quit whining that you're somehow entitled to something you have not paid for. Publishing a magazine in print and online is expense. For a magazine like WS very expensive. WS is not gouging anyone. It is seeking to run a business reasonably and profitably. Because you paid for information included in a print edition or online does not mean another means of disseminating it, in this case a mobile device with all its additional inherent costs, would or should be free. What you're paying for is convenience. That you paid for access to the information previously in a print format is irrelevant. If you want to carry around a stack of magazines to make informed choices in a wine shop, by all means do so. But if you want the convenience and ease of use that comes with accessing the information from your iPhone expect to pay for it..Version: v2.01

Handy AppHandy pieces of information though would like to see Western Australia added to the database..Version: 0

Wine GuideEasy to use and find basic info I want for main wine areas I am interested in - France, Spain & Italy. Specifically info on vintages to help with impromptu purchases at the supermarket..Version: 0

Very helpfullHelps you avoid buying the bargain from hell.Version: 1.3

Update to earlier review - WS application support team is excellentI have deleted my earlier review about the application becoming unstable. After I wrote that review the WS support team contacted me within hours of the review being posted. I worked with level 1 and level 2 support. It turned out that the problems I experienced could not be reproduced, which is not uncommon in the computer world. I reinstalled and the app has been working fine. It may have been a problem during the initial install. My recommendation is that if you run into any problems with the app hanging or crashing, uninstall the app and reinstall it. It worked for me. Also, based on the other reviews it seems like my issue was an isolated incident. I also want to point out that the WS support team CONTACTED ME to understand the problem in more detail. This is very unique in today's support environment. So if you do have a problem, let them know and I'm sure you will get to a timely resolution..Version: 0

Fresh designThe new version of this app is extremely user-friendly. It allows you to browse by year, type, country, and so much more! Any wine enthusiast needs this..Version: 6.0.1

Needs better list capabilitiesI have been using the website for both ratings searches and keeping track of my cellar. The app is much nicer for searching with the infinite scrolling and easy sorting. However, I’m not sure I’ll take the time to add my wines to lists. There is no way to search a list and no way to see what’s in the drink now window in your cellar. I’d really love a filter or two so I could an Italian red that’s ready to drink but will be past the best drink window by 2022, for example. So this is nice for being in the wine shop but not useful for being at home and trying to figure out what to pull out for dinner..Version: 6.1.6

Very GoodHelps with the year at least. Would like to see a bit more expertise.. narrow down some label, vin yards etc..Version: 0

Vintage ChartUser friendly guide that gives you the basics and inspires you to find out more. I look forward to seeing more regions and varieties covered over time. Has improved wine bar and supermarket purchases enormoushlyy. Hic. Cheers my dears..Version: 1.3

Brilliant appHighly recommend getting this!.Version: 3.3.2

Very user friendly and clearWell laid out with good, although not great, level of detail on many of the vintages. Excellent for a free app and very useful for any wine enthusiast..Version: 1.3

1997 brunello argianoJust opened a bottle this week the wine turn breakers red and not drinkable. So the Brunellos don’t hold as well as the French? I always thought brunello could hold For 30 years or more?.Version: 6.5.0

Great referenceThis app is very helpful when searching through wine shops and online retailers for fantastic wines and deals. Would really love to see a section broken out for highly rated under $50. Also more comprehensive search function by varietal and ranking. A built in cellar option would be handy to keep track of personal wines and ability to manage as new are added and others deleted. Barcode reader would also be handy. Picture of label in review would be fantastic. A bit pricey for annual access.Version: 3.2

Vintage chartVery accessible and easy to use reference guide. A little more detail in the descriptions would make it even better.Version: 1.3

Great!Brilliant app for the amateur wine aficionado! Could do with a few more less common wine regions though... Future update perhaps?.Version: 1.3

Easy to useGood app, fast quick and easy to use.Version: 1.3

Very helpfulVery helpful reference tool. Agree with an earlier comment that it would be nice to be able to access more depth if required.Version: 1.3

Helpful appReally into the vintage chart especially when getting wines from overseas as it helps narrow the search. I use it allot while at my local cellar door.Version: 1.3

Helpful ToolI spend every summer in Europe (the three best reasons to be a teacher--June, July, and August), at least half of it in France, and though I am an amateur oenophile, I cannot keep all vintages in my head. This tremendous app, along with all the rest of my life that I now carry in my pocket, serves equally well when wondering why an otherwise highly regarded wine in a shop seems to be significantly underpriced or in navigating large top-flight wine lists and small obscure ones alike to arrive at the best value-for-money choices. For value, read "pleasant delight". --sleiii.Version: 1.3

Well worth havingBest for Old World wines, which suits me!.Version: 1.3

Amazing AppAlways useful to find a decent vintage.Version: 1.3

Handy appGreat.Version: 1.3

Good App.Yeah, I work in a wine shop and this little app is great for a snapshot of info on specific vintages... Kept many customers happy, and it's good to prove I actually know what I'm talking about !! Only downside being it's predominantly americanised, and I work in the UK..Version: 0

Wine Spectator ReviewsGood general international quick reference. Could be more complete in covering Italy. Grumpy winebibber..Version: 1.3

Vintage chart by WSSomewhat useful as a quick reference guide but not enough detail or differentiation to be of any use beyond that..Version: 1.3

Excellent appI am surprised to see people complaining about this app's content not being free. I would agree with those who already subscribe in print and/or online and have to pay for an additional subscription, but otherwise you get what you pay for. There is a massive database of high quality professional reviews and the app does a fantastic job with its predictive search and recent searches. I think it does exactly what it should do with the exception of helping you find the wine for sale, which its competitor app Robert Parker does quite well..Version: 4.1

Good AppCool and Good App. Missing some countries like Lebanon, search could be enhanced by date, example what is the best wine in year xxxx ? Or what was the best year in x chateaux or country..Version: 0

Excellent!Have been using this app for years now and it’s very easy to use and the info is terrific. Love this app..Version: 6.2.2

Love it!I’ve been using this app more and more since I’ve moved back to NYC. Being on a tight budget means it’s important for me to find a wine review that I can trust. The tasting reviews on this app help me make better buying decisions, ultimately saving time/money normally wasted on unknown wines..Version: 6.0.7

Nice easy appI like the app as it is easy to use. I used it on my Touch but now using it on IPad. I' really like to see an IPad version. The one thing that let's it down is lack of data. I buy slot of New Zealand wine .... No entries unless I've missed something. Other countries such as South Africa could do with more detail. Extra data and iPad version ( no real app changes of significance) would get this extra star from me..Version: 1.3

UsefulUseful to have when you're out and about and come across an unfamiliar wine.Version: 1.3

.Would be great to see indepth regional maps, and wine reviews for Canada.Version: 0

Outstanding AppFirst class very accurate and helpful.Version: 1.3

Very usefulQuick and easy to use. Of particular value when, without letting you know, they produce a wine of inferior vintage on a restaurant..Version: 1.3

Very useful appCould be a bit more user friendly but delivers all that we need, fast..Version: 3.3.1

Excellent!!!Works very well. I'd like Italy to be expanded a bit if possible - they do have other wines..Version: 1.3

Persevere.Useful.Needs to be updated..Version: 1.3

Great Reference ToolCracking little app, very useful for checking vintages and figuring out what to keep and what to pop open. Particularly like the vintage descriptions..Version: 1.3

Easy to use & reliableI have had this app for quite a few years and found it easy to use. And WS provides reliable reviews that are not overly inflated like some other review sites. Highly recommended..Version: 6.5.0

For free, how critical can you be?In common I suspect with an awful lot of people, I know plenty of wines that I like, but not necessarily the best year / right year for value, especially in a restaurant where the tendency is to list wines that are far too young and therefore, this is very useful. A paid detailed version with aggregated access to professional reviews (Parker / Robinson et al) would be welcome. Cheers!.Version: 0

Wine Spectator is trustworthyThey do truly blind tastings. The reviews are detailed and it also gives me an idea of when they will drink their best and how long to cellar. It’s simple for anyone to understand..Version: 6.7.2

Love this app!!If you love wine like me you need this app!! It’s so easy to use and great for finding new wines to try. Love that I can keep all my favorite wines saved in one place as well!!.Version: 6.0.1

UsefulV useful.Version: 1.3

Gotten better over the years, could be improvedThis app has been around forever. If you look at the reviews some of them stretch back 7 years. I've used this off and on during that time, and it's gone from a borderline useless app to one that is pretty useful. I agree that the WS subscription model requires you pay separately for this, print magazines, and online access, but that aside this app is worth a few bucks a month if you buy wine regularly. Many times ratings labels in stores are for different vintages or releases, so it's good to double check. My one suggestion to improve this app would be to filter based on number of cases released. Many of the higher rated wines have very limited releases so it would be nice to sort out the ones you know you won't ever find in the local stores. Also adding the ability to filter multiple years. Currently you can only filter by one year at a time..Version: 5.2.1

Great Ratings, not enough winesI love this app, but there are not enough everyday brands. Moreover, great ratings for wines most of us will never be able to buy are tantalizing..Version: 6.1.8

Best Wine App in WorldThis is a fantastic wine app. Very up to date & easy to use. You benefit from a very regular updates. Last month when there was a problem with accessing tasting notes the response from support was immediate. You get what you pay for - timely expert advice. Love it..Version: 4.3

Just what the wine waiter ordered!Perfect to have a quick check of good years on a restaurant wine list. And free!.Version: 1.3

Just rightQuick easy to follow app to chase down great wine info from across the globe!.Version: 1.3

Repel the grim reaperThis app is great when u r in a restaurant and the sommelier is hovering nearby, or in a decent wine shop when the over-enthusiastic hand-wringing proprietor is busy stalking. All the BS "a great find, you will love this wine" aka I need to offload some rubbish stock, pronto can be dismantled. Commended..Version: 1.3

I love it!!!!What an app!! I can't understand what should I say!! I am a big fan of Wine Spectator WineRating+. This is a great app for 18+ people. I want to give this app A+ rating..Version: 3.1

Very usefulUseful little app when browsing the shelves..Version: 1.3

Good butMissing a lot of wines Always one I need so it seems……..:.Version: 6.3.0

Amazing!Really good, have used it lots and very helpful.Version: 1.3

A great app for wine loversThe only vintage guide app that works well. Power to the phone, power to the elbow!.Version: 1.3

Wine Aficionado's Must Have AppPrimarily I'm using this for wines of Spain; love the info on each vintage and the advice on whether to drink or hold. Good stuff and more in depth than other apps of this nature..Version: 1.3
