Good app but...This app is very good but, still no French in 2019 :( luckely, I’m good for reading English but will love a French language !!!.Version: 4.5.0

Intermittent crashesNo obvious pattern.Version: 4.6.5

A change for the worseI've given it a few weeks to see whether it was just the change I didn't like but no, this actually is inferior to the previous UK-centric version. Fair play for trying something different, it hasn't worked though..Version: 2.4.1

It's okWas happy with the previous versions, but the new one is quite buggy. Random crashes which is very annoying. Sometimes the "comment" section does not pop up which is also very frustrating. Hopefully these issues will be eliminated in the future updates. If there are no crashes and no other issues this app is seamless..Version: 3.0.1

Started crashingWorked fine for a while but has now started crashing everytime I open it!.Version: 0

Great app terrible implementation of ads platformNeed to redesign how ads are implemented.Version: 2.2.1

Too many adsAnnoying and intrusive.Version: 4.4.3

App really sucksApp forces you to watch commercials with every video post. You see the “skip add” button, but it can never be pressed. CNet knows this has been ongoing forever, and it’s done on purpose to increase their revenue..Version: 4.2.6

Very annoying advertiseNew feature since last update is so annoying. I have to watch these low quality very noisy adds every time I click on any news. I think I can live without your news update, so deleting your app. Bye cent..Version: 3.0.1

My ReviewI would score higher, but recent performance issues have left me with crashes and not starting up properly. I think bug fixes will fix the problem. Still a huge Cnet fan. A couple of months later, I find the bug fixes, for the most part fixed. I still find the app opening slow at various times. Both IOS versions iPad and iPhone. Nothing seems to crash..Version: 4.3.12

Hardly opens an articleI’ve had an iPhone for years - this app never opens articles from my notification screen correctly. I get errors as though I’m not connected even though I am or it simply keeps loading forever without ever opening..Version: 4.2.4

C(rash)N(ever)E(ver)T(arries)C(rash)N(ever)E(ver)T(arries) Since update this just crashes every single time without exception! At least it's consistent at one thing! Yes delete/reinstall "fixes" issue but come on people it's a tech app are updates not tested in-house before committing it to Apple/Joe Public? Obviously not: But it needs to be so. Fix please and you can have your 4 stars back. Would be 5 stars but the widget on the "Today/Notifications" screen NEVER updates?! Why?.Version: 3.3.1

Keeps crashing since last updateDoesn't display anything when opened on my 6plus. Please fix it..Version: 3.6

All about USA?! No goodUsed to be very informative and very specific info related to gadgets, now it’s all messed up with too much info about nothing and mentions only American market. Boo.Version: 4.6.2

Ads cause safari seemingly to randomly openThe content would be good if it weren't riddled with ads to dodgy sites. We already have to deal with 30 second ads before every video, ads in the content pages and half of the product reviews appear bias with infomercials. All off that would be okay if this app didn't open safari all of the time and take me to pages that I haven't requested..Version: 3.6

Great infos! Bad...I love your app, the problem lies with the linking of the “Notifications” you send out and your app. To be clear, I just received a notification about the article “The fake news campaign that tried to divide South Africa” that is available to read on your app. The article is not the problem. I “tapped” on the notification, which instantly opened the c|net app. (Unlike MOST other apps, including Apple’s, working in tandem with notifications and/or emails, you do a GREAT job on NOT opening a USELESS «Safari» window on my iPad) 👍🏽 But then, a little wheel started turning and turning and turning on the screen... Until I received the message that something went wrong... So I did what I was prompted to do and I got the article. It is a lot of work for us! Unless we are not supposed to tap on your notifications ? PLEASE, it needs to be fixed. Otherwise, great job, app, web site, everything!.Version: 4.2.3

Terrible for UK contentUsed to be good but has now become totally US-centric. Pricing, products and adverts are all American so this is poor for UK or European markets. Have deleted and recommend you don't bother installing unless you are based in the US, in which case, good luck dodging the adverts. You're going to need it!.Version: 3.6

Old one much betterWhat was wrong with the old one? It had better content. This app shows everything US?? And stop asking me about spanish, once i clear it it should not keep popping up..Version: 2.4.1

Fix airplay buttonGreat app except, it is infuriating that the airplay button is on top of the play button. If the video buffers at all, you can't watch the video. Fix it now!.Version: 3.1

Nice interface... Except for the default video autoplay.Version: 4.5.11

CC only available in video previews?!When you tap full screen the captions disappear and there is no option to enable captions again. This feature is clearly designed with hearing people in mind, NOT accessibility for the millions of deaf and hard of hearing people in the U.S. If you already have the caption feature and the caption files, why the heck would you only limit this to the preview? And even if you were only thinking of hearing people, what if a hearing person wanted to watch full screen with the sound off? It makes zero sense. It's frustrating, to put it lightly, to see yet another well-known company develop an app that comes SO close to being accessible but then crash and burn..Version: 4.3.13

Good content but stalls and crashes a lotGood content but stalls and crashes a lot. This has been a problem for years now. Im on a xr but this has also happened since ive had a 5 and 6 too. Im guessing its because of all the embedded video which isn’t really necessary anyways..Version: 4.6.5

Updated - more American less Aussie contentCNET continues to suffer from commercialism over editorialism. It's clear that newscorp has exercised its might, while looking for cuts meaning too much American content (market demands it) and very little Aussie content. The integration of Aussie content/price is an afterthought which doesn't work and is variable according to the article and (mostly American) author. This is not a critique of the reporters, rather the producers fail to recognise cultural and economic differences and try to force these together through simplistic conversions of price, gallons/litres etc. There are better apps/sites that represent Aussie interests and perspective available. ************ Old review below *********** Apart from lack of local (Aussie) content this app suffers because it does not sort articles by date. The same article will remain at top of program for days and days. I can only assume this is similar to Facebook determining most important stories... But suspect it is commercially motivated, and hope it isn't linked to,advertising links. The CNET app has progressively gone backwards in use ability as they try to improve it..Version: 3.4.2

DisappointingTried emailing feedback via the app, but the in-app feedback no longer works, perhaps they were getting too much criticism. Here's what I tried to email: "I was hoping there would be video so I can watch shows like Loaded without having to wait for it to download." The app features news on various topics but disregards the fact twice as many people are online in Europe compared to America by focusing heavily on U.S. news..Version: 0

Most 5 star reviews are fake.Wow!! Just so amazing!. I thought I was Going to be board with tech reviews and new products. I was wrong, I found out how to get so many stimulus checks, that I quit my job. I found so many Black Friday deals that were sold out. I never never even thought while thinking about a PS5, because there were so many top 2020 shower heads I couldn’t decide. When article on how to buy meat came up, sucked the breath out of me. Or was that the article about a vacuum. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ EVERY SINGLE 5 star review is so fake, some are obvious jibber jabber. Some are obviously people who have never used this worthless app..Version: 4.6.2

Was greatWas an awesome app before they started putting full screen adverts over the top which you have to get rid of with a tiny x button to be able to read anything. Fail. Delete..Version: 2.4.1

AdsThe app overall is okay. With the most recent update I haven’t had much issues with the app freezing and having to close the app to restart it. My biggest complain would be the ads. I understand the app is free and it will have ads. But why is it that I can’t scroll thru the app without “accidentally” clicking on the ads. It makes no sense that I can scroll through the articles without opening a singe one but once I get close to an ad it automatically opens it. I feel like the developers are doing this on purpose for revenue. The ads themselves are more prone to open when scrolling then the articles themselves..Version: 4.5.5

Lag scrollingPlease fix this issue. The app is unusable now. Why did this issue appear out of nowhere and keeps getting worse ? Started around October 2018 and still here on mid November 2018.Version: 4.3.10

Its crashingIts crashing.Version: 4.2.5

Doesn’t play well with othersAfter years of using this app I can not use it while streaming any other programs. No music, no streaming news on NPR. Nothing. Whenever an article has had video in it, it immediately shuts down the current stream to play the video or wait to play it. Today it it started shutting down streams on just opening the app. As I said, this had been going on since the very beginning and no update has had any effect on it. I should not have to forego other apps to use CNET..Version: 4.4.3

NO SOUNDWhen playing some videos you are forced to watch commercials which come in crystal clear..then video FINALLY plays there is no audio..for an app which reports on technology it is Quite embarrassing to have such a glitchy ap...SHAME SHAME SHAME.Version: 3.9.5

The problemIf you want to read articles or follow a specific columnist, such as STEVE GUTTENBERG, the search functionality of pretty poor. You may find the podcasts but you can’t search for his reviews or articles with ease.It is very frustrating..Version: 4.3.13

Links within the articlesI’m not sure I’d this is my iPhone issue or a general bug, but when I’m scrolling through articles whenever I touch the screen to swipe through the article and I happen to touch a link, I’m taken to the next article. There are some articles with multiple links in a paragraph that makes reading them almost impossible. This never use to happen before..Version: 4.5.1

Not Canadian At AllLove the side and the way it’s been put together but there is absolutely no Canadian content in it. When I am looking at products or services I need Canadian prices!.Version: 4.3.7

What went wrong!!!!!!You guys had a decent app.....then you blew with this piece of junk! You should have left well enough alone. If I could give it half a star that still would have been generous. Half of it simply doesn't function. You should at least have gotten it right b4 you released it. Amateurish!.Version: 3.0

Cnet for the post part is greatI could not give it 5 stars as lately when I go from something I am reading And it takes me into the app which it always has now he noticed it the videos don’t match the story so if I play the video it’s not telling me about the story that I was reading it tells me about something that is associated to it or in the same field but it does not tell me specifically about that product I was reading about..Version: 4.4.7

Terminate this pageTerminate this page.Version: 4.5.2

50hertz can't take the criticismFeedback not working U.S. Orientated but everything is U.S. And priced in dollars would like more relevant worldwide info on tech gear and prices more relevant and availabilty in my country. take the apple tv device offering services from American tv channels which when we Acess via pc we get your not in this region so can not have access to this program so why tell me what you get when I want to know what I would get if I bought one clearly nothing its called a world wide web for a reason so why bother telling how good it is in the u.s. Of a. All it would take is a tick box list country. available price, shops selling it ,channels available for country Waiting to be recognised Vincent England.Version: 0

Annoying auto play videos and adsSTOP those annoying auto play videos. Some people just want to read the article and not have to have their mobile data charged for playing those videos! And those ads in between articles is just pathetic. So desperate for advertising revenue..Version: 4.2.5

OkGood idea, but the app crashes almost every time.Version: 2.1

Awesome app....except for the refreshingMarch 24, 2021 Update: Got a new iPad Air 4. Exact same issues! So many refreshing glitches. I love and absolutely HATE THIS APP. I am sure it has a little something to do with ALL the frickin ads. Nothing more to say. Will continue to use the app and hate myself a tiny bit for not DELETING IT AND GETTING ON WITH MY SEMIPATHETIC LIFE. November 17, 2020 Update: Still massive refreshes while you are scrolling through the news feed. Both when you are backing out of an article and when you are just scrolling along. All of the sudden the app throws you way back up in the news feed. PLEASE FIX!! October 27, 2020 Update: Just received a ‘developer response’ asking if upgrading to 4.6.0 fixed my issues. Definitely not. Was reading the News, down to articles from 12 hours ago, backed out of an article and I was immediately shifted up to articles from 2 hours ago. So, not fixed :( October 14, 2020 Update: Still a piece of s#it. Please fix the refreshing issue!!!! Just another update....man this app is frustrating. It’s constantly jumping back up in the list of news stories when I back out of an article. PLEASE FIX!!! I left this a few months ago and it’s still happening. I scroll down to an article that was posted a couple days ago, when I am done and back out of the article I am taken all the way back to almost the top of the news page. So frustrating. I love all the news, reviews etc., it’s just the navigation that is so painful. Please fix!! I love the app but my biggest criticism is when you click back out of an article and the page refreshes and scrolls back up to near the top of the page. Then you need to scroll, scroll, scroll to get back to where you were.... If this would get fixed, 5 Stars!! I have upgraded, as per CNET, to 4.5.9. Same problem and now I have a video to prove it. Let me know how to get this to a developer. Thanks, Cnet.Version: 4.6.5

Could be goodThe stories and videos are bitesize, which is fine, but having to watch variations of the same advert at each video got real old real quick. Uninstalled, which is a pity..Version: 3.9.1

App keeps crashing! The CNET app was already driving me crazy. As I’m trying to scroll through the articles it keeps refreshing and taking me all the way back up to the first article. So, I have to remember the number of hours ago that the article I was reading was on so that I can scroll all the way through the articles to get to where I left off. Completely maddening! Now, with the latest version of the app they have added the extra feature of crashing all the time. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Still having the crashing problem. Cnet, I love your articles but your app is terrible! Please fix it!.Version: 4.5.10

Don’t use it nowSince the new update/layout I don’t use the app. I can’t go straight to videos like I could before. I used to enjoy searching by shows. Now I have to scroll down the feed to what you assume I want to read about. Not a good experience..Version: 4.0.1

Ok but could be betterWould rate higher except for the annoying feature of trying to scroll down and article and having to dodge the hyperlinks that if hit take you away!.Version: 4.2.7

Less Politics, More TechThere are too many political opinion articles for this to be a “tech” app. This used to be a great app, but for the past several months it has been notification after notification of “Trump did this”, “Trump did that”, or “insert headline about stimulus checks”. It’s not even politics involving tech at this point. Changing your notification preferences/interests does absolutely no good because they will still send you political articles. Give us the option to opt out of notifications for political articles. Your tech pieces are great, but I don’t follow a tech website for politics..Version: 4.6.2

Too many issuesMany articles are blank when you open them or have totally different content to that advertised. Not ready for prime time..Version: 2.4.1

Localized deals for the country would have been nice!Deals are great, but only for US stores only are not useful to me, need Canadian deals..Version: 4.4.9

Total Rubbish!!!Why would I want to read all about the US tech? And this Spanish bar that keeps popping up is very annoying, I said no once!! The odd bit of information we get for the UK is total rubbish, the app is very poor with it crashing, the slowness and inability to play videos and the UI is just awful. The UK App needs to come back. Until then this app is deleted...... CBS Interactive - WHAT A JOKE.Version: 2.4.1

Fake news...Yes fake news published here...Version: 4.5.10

Gone worse! Not enough content, can't play video as airplay comes on top of the play/pause button make it impossible to watch videos..Version: 3.1

Crashes all the time.....I love the news in this app. I love it so much that I'd like to actually be able to read it without the app crashing. It crashes a lot. All the time. If it's not fixed soon, this will be another app for the trash can. Ironic that an app about tech is so full of bugs....Version: 3.6.3

Was okay but now it won't loadSo it was great when it was cnet for the UK, then it became a global site, so most reviews were for the American market. Then I saw the recent update that stated it had the option to switch to the UK , but sadly every time I go to the menu button it just gets stuck on loading. Oh well shame as I love this app when it was for the UK market, but now I use T3 instead which is a mobile website..Version: 3.0

Great Content! .. But Buggy App!Love your reviews and videos, but your app crashes more often than it functions correctly! Transitioning from a notification to the article in your app is “iffy” at best, selecting a picture within an article that is playing a video (even if it’s paused) causes app to freeze forcing a restart. Seems like it needs more memory allocation? Something to stop all the restarts? Please fix these bugs! As I said, I Love your content, but the app needs a lot of work to deliver it smoothly! Thx!.Version: 4.5.2

Nice app - video playback buggyA good app for reading articles although videos fail to load or freeze during the opening ad..Version: 3.1

App crashes too muchI really love everything about this app except that it crashes so many times even when I am just reading an article..Version: 4.4.9

Too many ads & not enough UK contentCan't scroll or read articles without an abundance of ads all over the page. This isn't the odd ad, this is literally packing them at every opportunity. My second issue is the lack of focus for each country, finding UK content is so much harder, it's as if CBS don't want to give it a fair chance, or they aren't great at marketing internationally..Version: 3.6

Don't refresh to home pageIf you go to other app and come back, the app will refresh to home page again all the time. It's really bad idea!.Version: 2.4.1

Turn off sound on autoplayed adds!!!!The most annoying thing when you just want to read and it blast with add in the most inappropriate moment..Version: 4.2.0

Uninstalled for now 😭I would like to see more content on this app as I feel like it's not updated regularly enough. Checking in every couple of days and seeing exactly the same content? Also when there is the option to tap on a picture to view a gallery of pictures for a product it doesn't open. Needs a few improvements..Version: 3.1

Tacky adwaresC|net is so big that I'm surprised to see tacky adware like "you've won an iPad - click here" ruin the experience of an otherwise flashy app. I fret to guess what other tacky ads will come next... "Local singles near (server ip lookup) wants to meet you"?.Version: 3.0

Stop stealing our clipboard!I thought CNET was pro-privacy? Yet this app steals clipboard content without permission on every open and app switch! It doesn’t matter if you might use it for a better experience, stop it!.Version: 4.6.0

Ads load lateWhen scrolling through the news it seems the ads are the last thing to load. This causes them to just appear in the news feed and push the content you were looking at somewhere else. It’s like placing an image in a word document at the last minute and messing your text up. Why can’t the ads have a placeholder empty square for formatting until they load?.Version: 4.2.6

InfuriatingGreat news and articles - but too many ads placed in the newsfeeds where they can be accidentally clicked.....Version: 4.4.9

Way too much adsWay too much advertisement, finding it very annoying.Version: 3.1.2

Cutting edge tech app with ancient contentErrors every time you try and follow a banner alert for a news story and top ten tech filled with reviews from 2018 and older. It’s a bit of a joke to be honest. App hasn’t been updated in a very long time with any meaningful change.Version: 4.6.5

When ever open it CrashedUsing it on iphone 6 and ipad . When ever we open it crashed . Useless..Version: 3.4

Useless bring back the UK version, don't waste your time downloading!!This used to be one of my favorite apps full of instant up to date UK tech news. Sadly no longer and after this review I will be deleting it. Does anyone know any good alternatives? Please don't waste your time or device memory with this obsolete app. 😔👎.Version: 2.4.1

Good for consumers and general interest, stay out of politicsJust do what you do well and avoid expressing personal views on things outside of your mission eg politics and populist issues. When I know more than the author and I know that he/she is incorrect, it makes me wonder whether I can rely on articles in your core mission. Do I need to apply a political filter to everything? Can I trust your content? Is the app worth my time? These are the wrong questions for this app..Version: 4.6.5

AdsBecoming just an app full of ads, not only on the news pages but also now before it even loads!....annoying!! Edit....last straw when you now get video ads after closing articles...I don't want to use up my data looking at ads thanks.....deleted.Version: 1.3

The app is a nightmare to navigate...Wow, trying to read one article on the iPad and a video at the top of the page goes full screen and has nothing to do with the article. It has a small button to restore from full screen, but tapping it just ends up sizing the video small for a short blip before it returns to full screen. That is just ONE mess! Every article is split with video up top and the actual article below. Scrolling leaves the video taking up from 25% to 33% or so forcing me to read the article in text smashed below it. The UX designer is incompetent when it comes to easy and friendly to use. Instead it is designed like a Salvador Dali painting. Deleted the app..Version: 4.5.4

AdsThe dyson ad keeps popping up. So annoying.Version: 4.3.12

Keep crashing while reading when scrolling downI like to read the articles on Cnet but I really am frustrated by the app keeps crashing when I am reading the article. When I scroll down after a while it crashes. Hi dev, please check the crash log and fix it ASAP as this is really annoying and make the app useless. I am using iPhone 7 with iOS 13.3. Crash is the most annoying issue the app can have. Please..please..please fix it!!! I usually not write any review, but as I like Cnet articles I would like to have the app fixed so I can continue reading..Version: 4.5.4

CNetPoor iPhone interface. Scrolling is very annoying. Video playback is sub par..Version: 4.4.4

The Ads are getting ridiculousAds will open in the middle of me reading an article. Also if your finger lands on an ad while you're scrolling up or down (not clicking to select it), it will open when you lift your finger. No other app does this and it's incredibly annoying. I deleted the CNET app because of this. On top of the ad problem, if you click on a notification for an article, you have about a 50% chance that it actually takes you to the article you wanted to read. The other half of the time, it just opens the CNET app to its home screen. As for CNET themselves, the tech reviews have gone downhill over the years. Now it feels like most products are given a good rating because they were paid to say it is good. I won't call any out specifically but I have seen plenty of genuinely poor products get a good review. Cnet is no longer the trustworthy name in tech news/reviews that it used to be and it's time to move on. It just feels like they care more about getting as much money as possible than the actual tech they're reporting on or their users who are trusting them to provide honest information..Version: 4.5.5

No longer relevantMy review from a couple of years ago: Well-written, super-timely, thoughtful, thorough articles. One star demoted for SO many ads. Request: Please offer an ad-free paid version. It would be worth every penny. (A one-time purchase, not a subscription. If someone offers me one more subscription, I’m gonna Hulk out.) Nov 2020...Dropping the app to one star: Why does a tech app release multiple articles on government stimulus checks each day? What makes it worse is, there are no government stimulus checks! We got one in early 2020, then six months of articles on CNET about the nonexistent next one. Stop it! Just wait until it happens, if it happens. Along with an ever-increasing onslaught of government stimulus check articles, we now get a relentless barrage of Black Friday articles (buy, humans!), and even more repeats—from yesterday, last week, even last month. This app has jumped the shark. Okay, one last thing: CNET is a thousand times better on Flipboard. Unlike the horrible app, it doesn’t flash a million ads at you, or refresh itself to the top with no warning. The stimulus checks articles are still there, but I guess that’s their signature move these days..Version: 4.6.2

Epic Fail CNETWhat were you thinking? You destroyed a perfectly useable app! Where’s the bookmarks? No idea where I last left off. I scroll down and find I can’t easily get back to the top with a tap, I have to scroll back. And the best thing about the old app was the size of the images, now they are too small even on my iPad Pro. Your carousel is a monument to self glorification, utterly pointless, silly shape. Garbage. Epic fail, CNET. I can’t be bothered either it anymore!.Version: 4.0.0

What a shameYou’ve really spoilt this. I used to love the save feature; why did you get rid of it? When I click on articles I now get to watch a rotating circle for a minute before the article appears. For me it’s unusable and even if it was sped up, with no ‘functionality’ what’s the point of an app when you can just go to the site?.Version: 4.0.1

Keep getting “look like we have a issue” refresh and nothing happens in iOSIssue with iOS Still happening.Version: 4.5.10

Switching articles confusingTrying to exit an article requires scrolling to the bottom the entire article. And I only discovered it by accident, after a little frustration..Version: 4.2.7

Something has gone wrongThe latest iteration of the app is hopeless. I have loved it up to now, but this version gives me the spinning wheel of death instead of articles! Time for you guys to look at what is happening and get a patch out as soon as possible..Version: 4.0.1

App continually crashesOnce great app seems to be continually crashing since IOS 12 update. Almost unusable now, which is a shame as the content is always good..Version: 4.4.2

Microwave CNET videoI have been using their specific video for a long time, this time I found it and couldn’t see the words or directions because an obnoxious white diagonal line took up half the screen. When I touched it it would drag up or down making the video and words smaller, which is terrible when you’re trying to do something a few feet away and need to see the words. I hate the design, couldn’t figure it how to make it full screen. Too much white, and will probably not use it anymore as it’s no longer easy to use.Version: 4.3.7

I REALLY LIKE CNET but......This app really needs a ui refresh, picture-in-picture support for the video content, and please, oh pretty pretty please get rid of auto play to the next video!!! Or, at least give me the option to turn it off. 🤓 I really hate that. Many times, I want to go back to a certian point in a video I enjoyed, or watch it again after someone, or one of my kids had interrupted me. By the time I’d pause or try to manually go back, the app autoplayed to the next video or two, or more. Now I can’t rewatch it, let alone remember what it was called since video titles are not always consistent with the article or notification. And that leads me to my next gripe.... search!! The search is both hidden and not bad, but not great. The app implies that it’s just for reviews, not all of cnet’s content, including computer and IT news. In reality, it searches all content. Even then, the search isn’t great. The returned results do not always match what was searched, nor is the ui very friendly, especially when you play video from a search. I’ve found that sometimes (well alot of the time), it’s better to just go to the cnet website instead of using the iPad app, and instead, use the app just for notifications..Version: 4.5.5

CrashThe app crashed all the time since its last update. I deleted and reinstalled and it works fine. Would expected them to fix this though..Version: 3.3.1

Half baked app.Since CBSInteractive seems content to push Apple users to the app by making their sites inaccessible to iOS users ie no ability to post comments, no access to profile, killing auto login - then this app is a fail. Not even basic formatting available when posting a comment. No landscape view. No auto login. No access to profile. Barely one star.Version: 3.6.7

YukAdding to my previous review: the red 3D circle is gone, CNET gone from my iPad. Nothing impressive or distinctive anymore. Sorry, don’t like this new style. I preferred the larger photos & captions. Glad you kept the big red 3D circle on red background. All news apps seem to be using the same style, small photos and captions, & plenty of white unused space left. BORING!.Version: 4.0.2

Past it’s primeI used to love this app. I used it almost daily for news and reviews. It’s been a while since I’ve used it but I just downloaded it again to find that the “best” categories are all fairly outdated, with some of the product reviews almost 4 years old and nothing seemed extremely current. I also noticed that the login process seemed a little broken and I was unable to leave any comments on the articles I read. It feels like whoever used to manage the app was replaced by someone who doesn’t care, which is a huge shame as this used to be the go-to for myself and most of the tech-junkie types that I know. I hope CNET can find the app worth the effort once again. If this app was up to date I would easily be able to recommend it to anyone, but I can’t bring myself to do so in it’s current state..Version: 4.6.2

Auto limiting searchesJust downloaded the CNET app and now any search for CNET reviews connects me to the app and limits what CNET reviews are available to me. For example, two days ago found great articles on reviews fir 2019 refrigerators and since the app download can no longer access or revisit that same information even when I click directly from a search separate from the app? Bottom Line: Hoping to increase more reviews and content after using the app and instead the app automatically locks me into very limited search results restricting my access to what I most want to explore. It results in me going to other reviews websites. I ready to ditch the app fast..Version: 4.5.3

Good but buggyLaid out well, looks good but it's frustrating when you go out of an article back to the list and it refreshes and takes you back to the top so you have to go through everything to find what you were up to.Version: 1.3

Great Content but It Crashes a LotI’ve used this app for years and I love the content. However, for about the last year and through multiple minor iOS upgrades and CNET app upgrades, the app crashes a lot when scrolling. I generally just learned to ignore until now. I tried reporting this through the App Support option, but I’m taken to a site that isn’t helpful nor does it provide the opportunity to report this bug. I’m happy to change my rating back to five stars if this gets resolved..Version: 4.4.6

Tech Reviews With Liberal Bias?I know, the title is weird. I didn’t think it was possible either. But I’ve seen it on multiple times push “racial injustice” through technology, 5G networks being good for the environment and now they’ve just pushed Saying Covid 19 has been positive for the earth to heal. These are only the most recent 3 of many. To a lefty this would seem factual because its in every piece of content you digest. To a conservative this is called propaganda. It’s no mystery a tech site owned by CNN would integrate an agenda into technology, but holy crap..Version: 4.5.10

Good App but...Overall CNET is a good app and I enjoy the reviews. What I find most frustrating is that you are forced to the app but it doesn’t always show all the functionality of the webpage. For example recently when I clicked on a CNET email link I was directed to the App (no choice of Safari page) and the app page did not show the video which was the basis for the whole article! Very frustrating!.Version: 4.6.2

Good content poor presentationLong time fan of CNET content and their app however the most recent design is not user friendly and forces video in your face. It has no settings to turn off auto play especially on cellular data..Version: 4.1.5

Soo annoyingI love cnet and I love the content that it has but this app is so infuriating!!!! Every few seconds when I'm scrolling through the content it has adds popping up and opening in my browser. I literally spend half my time on this app just quitting add pages that have popped up!! Please fix cnet and stop trying to shove ads down my throat.Version: 3.3.1

PoliticsCnet app has been one of my favorite places to check out new things going around. The only let down is that the app itself doesn't allow me to comment on articles. PLEASE FIX IT..Version: 3.1

Stealing InformationThese guys steal information just like all the articles they write about. Complete hypocrites..Version: 4.4.9

Slow to loadThe app loads up sooooo slow, c’mon it’s not even a game. Otherwise it’s an alright app..Version: 4.5.9

Videos never loadI love cnet and their articles but every time I try to open a video on my iPad mini it gets stuck at the advertisement or very slowly stops and starts the advertisement..Version: 3.4.2

Normally great but keeps crashing on iPhone 6This is my main app for tech updates. Unfortunately since upgrading to iPhone 6 it just keeps crashing. It would be great if there was an update to fix this..Version: 3.3

Apple Watch notifications don't Handoff to iPhoneThe CNET iPhone app is great I also like the notifications on my Apple Watch. However, I should be able to open the Apple Watch notification and then Handoff to my iPhone. I hope that this feature is on the way..Version: 3.4.2

Top Articles on Site & CommentsThis is an OK App. Seems like it’s primarily for sending you Deals but it give you what you need. What is weird as some articles that are on top of the website don’t match the top articles on the app. I tried searching for it via the app and it was a pain. If they solve that it would be great. Also, I don’t get notifications via the app when someone replies to a comment thread I am in. It would be nice to get notifications and do all that within the app..Version: 4.5.2

Ads placement needs more workEven if you do not want to click on the display ads, there are 50% (yes I've calculated it) chances while scrolling through the newsfeed timeline that you will land on your finger tips on an ad..Version: 3.4.2

Ad's kill it.A nice improvement though sadly gets let down by the terrible poor quality advertising often in the middle of the screen. Don't see an option to upgrade away from ad's either. Ended up deleting and will source tech news elsewhere..Version: 3.0.1

Out-of-dateAll ‘modern tech’ articles are out of date! At least three year old tech articles!!!.Version: 4.5.2

Really poor for a reputed review siteTried both UK and Australia editions to search for home audio products including BT speakers. Search and filter functions found nothing other than sponsored products. Haven't tried using the mobile site it but it's bound to be better than this app which is near useless..Version: 3.6

Somewhat informativeThe ads are really annoying as the move all the articles around when they refresh (and they refresh constantly) Some good articles but most are product pushing dribble.....Version: 4.5.6

Version 4.4.6 does not open !Version 4.4.6 does not open with iPhone 7 . I found a work around: I first go to CNET.com than select the news. After the selection, the app gets out of its loop and displays my selection. But if you find a way that I can use the app only, it would be better..Version: 4.4.6

Non-stop auto replayThe app is great. But I find annoying the auto-replay on everything and can’t turn it off. For me, it’s a big deal. Deleted the app!.Version: 4.2.6

Doesn't workStopped working after update. Crashes within a second of opening. Pretty much useless..Version: 3.3.1

Need ImprovementThe app is alright and I use it quite often. Although it is not intuitive and it can be hard to use, so I tent to go onto Cnet on the web instead. Cnet is all about technology and yet their app is unintuitive. Overall the app is alright but I would like to see it updated so that it is more intuitive..Version: 2.3

Stupid feature cripples content.So.... I'm reading and article in this app (one that downloaded a moment ago). It's on screen and I am scrolling through it as I go. Then my device goes out of 3G range. So the <sarcasm on> immensely helpful <sarcasm off> app covers 80% of the screen with a black banner saying 'no network' (or something equally pointless.) I can still see the edge of the text I was try to read. But I'm not allowed to read it because the app needs to alert me to the fact that their the network is not connected for the moment. Pointless!.Version: 3.2

AdvertisingMultiple essential advertising companies to make the app work. Rubbish!.Version: 4.4.4

Smoother- BUT!!!The latest update is a lot smoother and doesn't seem to crash as much but on the iPhone when playing videos the airplay button is on top of the play/pause button making use of these buttons impossible. In order to play video over wifi I have to unplug all Apple TV devices and turn off airplay speakers. Please fix either by moving the airplay button to the side, the middle or remove and allow airplay access through control panel..Version: 3.1

So dumb...OK so the app actually deserves four stars but I’m writing it as one because this one feature is so stupid that It blows mind! When you open an article, on for example a specific feature that Google has… sometimes it has a video about it, other times it just has a random video about Google that has nothing to do with the topic… nothing to do with the special feature that they are describing… And they don’t even specify which is which! Really stupid, the least they could do is specify if not not put anything at all that’s unrelated!.Version: 4.5.2

Not goodYou cannot download articles for offline use. Do the developers not understand that wifi coverage is umperfect outside the valley?.Version: 4.3.9

Not goodHangs open in the background chewing battery. Constantly signs out and doesn’t support iOS username/passwords well to easily sign back in. No comment reply notifications & comment reply emails don’t link back to the original article/comments. What’s there is pretty clean but needs work..Version: 4.5.9

Ads stop musicDeveloper said it was videos auto playing. It’s not the videos it’s the Ads that stop the music..Version: 4.2.4

BrisbearIs a good app but the ads take up the screen space very annoying..Version: 0

Love CNET but app force closes.I’ve been using CNET for a while now. Over the last several months of early to mid 2020, into almost August now, the app constantly force closes. Highly annoying especially when your scrolling halfway through the list of articles and BAM app closes. Then it’s swipe time for five minutes trying to find your spot. Again, I love CNET content but would really like to enjoy the app without these aggravations..Version: 4.5.10

What happened?I really like the new UI but like another reviewer said articles just don’t load anymore. I’ve reverted to using the mobile site for now as I can’t use the app. CNET please fix..Version: 4.0.2

Really badThis app has had the same issues for years with no resolutions. The app constantly crashes. After reading you will randomly be placed back in the main article feed, never in the same spot. You can’t scroll through articles because of the constantly loading adverts that being thrown in and rearranging everything. But even if you make it through that will will be the same 5 recycled articles over and over again. And I don’t mean articles on tired topics, I mean they simply change the date on an article and toss it back out as if it were new. And why would anyone want to read 6 articles about a stimulus check that has been over for a month. I’m out..Version: 4.5.10

Cnet latestVideo ads arrive straightaway. What i am trying to watch buffers.Version: 3.6.5

You can do betterI’ve followed CNET for several years. You’ve drifted from reviews to retailing to a mix of the two. Recently, your retailing is actually more click bait than retailing. When I want to see an item you hype, I’m forced to look through 25 or more items to eventually look at the item you are touting on sale. My patience is growing short with your hype. Why waste time? Since the NYT acquired your site, your organization is also intent on tracking me and warns if I don’t drop my blockers I can’t see the site? Really? Are you selling items or tracking info to marketers..Version: 4.6.5

Crashes non stopWorked fine until it updated 2 weeks ago, now I can't use it. It crashes and closes within 2 seconds of opening it. Needs an immediate fix..Version: 3.3.1

Was Good Until The Last UpdateApp was good until the last update. Now the share button is unresponsive, back button no longer works and the whole app crashes constantly. I’m on iOS 12.4.1 & hoping this will be fixed by the time iOS 13 is released..Version: 4.4.10

Only missing SEARCH capabilityThis app is fine, except it lacks the ability to SEARCH for anything other than product reviews. I’d like to be able to search for a news article, and, as far as I can tell, I can’t..Version: 4.3.12

Hate it this versionThe older version was much better being able to keep track of all videos and some of my favorite shows like the apple-byte. Please bring back it organize this better, the search is crab can’t find anything out of it.Version: 4.0.1

What happened? This used to be the place for Tech reviews not SJW lecturesI woke up this morning to an alert from the app telling me what I can and can’t call a virus. A virus. I used to use CNET for tech reviews and now I’m being lectured by social justice warriors on why I shouldn’t call a virus after it’s country of origin? CNET, just browse the comments on that story and you will see everyone’s frustration. Also, I’m tired of clicking on alerts for one story and being routed to a different one. I’m deleting this app from my phone..Version: 4.5.6

Clearly CNET is more interested in wasting our time with useless ads than newsFirst the screen shot is false, the bottom rectangle in the app is an advertisement which you cant get rid off, and if u touch it by mistake it opens up another tab. Quite similar to those annoying pop up ads. Who ever made the decision to put in this ads, needs to be shot, literally. I am not a 16 year old who could'nt care less about small things like these. CNET GROW UP..Version: 0

Annoying UIThe video at the top of articles somehow annoyingly starts playing. Trying to dismiss it results in a blurred view that cant be dismissed. Just uninstalled as this happens too often.Version: 4.4.10

Much better, but still one major issueThe app seems to pretty much work now like it should, so kudos to the devs for resolving the issues. HOWEVER, there is still one major problem: the app will never "remember" what article you were reading when you closed it or switched to another app, and will refresh to the top of the main feed when you come back to it. Huge pain. My rating would be 4-5 stars otherwise. Please keep up the good work!.Version: 4.3.13

UnbearableWouldn't have thought it possible, but this App just got worse with the latest update! Before it would load images inconsistently on iPad and iphone, now it won't load anything at all. Great to see that advertising loads 100% of the time though. After months of enduring sub par performance, I'm off to find another information source to meet my needs..Version: 3.7.2

Unsubscribe??????I've tried and tried to unsubscribe but no way. The most ridiculous point is CNet tell off companies for hiding how to unsubscribe when they make sure you can't find how to do it on their site. IT SHOULD BE EASY!!! One or two clicks not half an hour, still not finding out how to do it. Really angry!! Should be " Unsubscribe" button pushed, then a short message like " sorry to see u go, you are now unsubscribe from" Not real hard guys.Version: 3.6.1
