Daily Mail: Breaking News for Negative User Reviews

FlippingI open a story. Then when I finish, the feed goes all the way back to the beginning of the column. You are continually starting over and over again. So annoying!.Version: 5.5.2

Annoying featureI don’t mind this app in general but I get really annoyed when I am reading an article and then it decides to go to the next article. It happens all the time - so it appears to be deliberate (maybe for more views??) If this is the case, it’s wrong and misleading to companies who choose to advertise with DM as data shows more clicks than it should..Version: 4.2.1

Illiterate and desperateFocussing largely on telling me that I’ve been living practically every facet of my life wrong according to self proclaimed and hitherto unheard of Australian experts, most of the articles are penned by authors who clearly skipped school lessons where grammar and punctuation featured. Similarly, watching the carousel of articles spin round to randomly select the latest headline one does it no credit. Nor does the use of misplaced, even randomly fully capitalised words. The comments section doesn’t allow a search facility, so checking to see what response your comment has generated is impossible without scrolling through every single comment - and given the slightest tweak to a headline makes that a new article, reviewing comments reaches a new low. If I wanted to read what Australian journos thought, I’d browse Australian papers, but the over reliance on articles from down under renders most articles questionable as to their relevance for a British audience. Sack the incompetent writers, proof read the drivel they’re posting, and stop rehashing ‘the 10 most oft repeated hacks’ every one should ignore for the 10th time of posting that we can’t do without in our lives’.Version: 3.5.1

Still redundant commercials!!After I posted a year ago that they have redundant 30 second commercials you would think they would have fixed it. Especially since I know that many many others have posted the same thing. I don’t want to watch the same 30 second clip 20x while trying to read the news. And it is appalling to have a 30 second video trying to sell you something before you watch a video of a crime, victims or accidents. I can’t believe you are trying to make money off of those things. It’s really sad. I will never buy the product of the video I have to watch over and over and over. It’s a waste for BOTH of us!! Ughhh. I used to love this app. And now it dos not my fave. Which is really sad. And I’m also tired of reading one sided news. I definitely know who this app stands behind and who it doesn’t. And I wish it was just NEUTRAL!! But good luck finding that anywhere!! Frustrated big time!!!.Version: 3.5.1

It works, less pop-ups than the web pageIt’s easier to get to your profile to review comments (or to find out how many have been moderated out because you’re not close enough to a right-wing nut job to pass muster. But from there it starts feeling like the work experience kid in IT did the rest of the work. It needs to have the forward/back buttons exposed/available in iPhone app - long-term users will give the app that little half-flick, half-scroll up to expose them, and nada, *then* you realise you’re in an app not on the website and have to reach for the top left of the screen. But the *real* reason for 4/5 is that when it prompts you for a review of the app, it throws a dialog - that bit is fine. BUT, *read* the dialog: “Rate this app 5 Stars”, and an OK button. If you just mindlessly click thinking it’s going to take you to the *real* rate my app - Nup. You just handed out 5 stars. Yes - you have the option of coming to the App Store app and changing the rating ... DM grabs a bunch of - under the circumstances - undeserved 5-star ratings for 3-star app. (I started at 4/5, but this bit annoys me so much, they can lose a star IMO..Version: 4.1.2

It’s free and that’s it’s main selling pointIt’s slow, half the text in a page is hidden by overlaid photos, advertising and other links. The writing is repetitive, there’s no spell checking or apparently any subeditor to check how many times the same lines are repeated. Three times per article is the average. There’s bugs which after multiple reports are still not acknowledged let alone fixed. Although there’s the ability to report a comment it’s very hard to do on an iPhone as the ‘I’m not a robot’ checks don’t fit on the screen so you have to hope the relevant squares are on the right hand side of the picture. I could go on but you get the general idea..Version: 4.0.3

Good app, few issuesI like the layout and it’s clear to see everything, although it’s annoying you can only load chosen articles and not browse as freely as you can online. Too many ads. I understand they’re needed for funding etc but too many and so irritating when trying to read and sometimes they’re so frequent. Sometimes app randomly crashes and when you reopen, new articles have loaded and you can’t find the one you were on when it crashed. Or pictures won’t load etc. Also, not an app issue but so many typos in articles! Saying all this, I like the app and use it most days..Version: 3.5.2

Too stressful to read on my iPadThis used to be my ‘go to’ on-line news source, but not now. The app keeps locking up on iPad. It is worse since the charging element was introduced. I can only read about half of eg the Home articles before it locks up. You have to either reboot or go away for half an hour or so at which point it will reload. This happens every time. The app keeps refreshing and going back to the top of the section you are reading, so you are forever trying to find where you had got to. (If there is a way to stop this, I can’t find it!) There are also sometimes problems with exiting the new-style comments and videos - you can’t! Another re-boot job. If you write to them about problems they just send an automated response to delete and re-install the app. I have finally given up with it, and certainly would not pay to read it - much as I love to read Sarah Vine and Richard Littlejohn!.Version: 5.7.1

Annoying Ads/MusicWhy can’t I read the news in peace. This new update has annoying, irrelevant music playing in the background with no obvious source to turn it off. Even through the settings I can’t find how to removed the music. Only work around is to silence my phone. I’ve had this app at least 8 years but this is the worse update I’ve seen, considering switching apps if it’s not rectified.Version: 5.6.3

ReviewThe popular forum gives a chance for many people to publish their opinions. The articles are mostly well-written in a style that ‘ordinary’ readers can understand. The worst column is Sci-Tech, where a team of militant atheists commentators are allowed to abuse and bully anyone who disagrees with them. One of them somehow puts up 100s of fake votes at a time. They often get comments that speak back to them deleted. Their pseudonyms are Unsecure Team, Not the NSA, Welsh 4 Ever, Realist, Peter, Jimbob, and Bodcd. When they’re banned, they just come back with new names (eg ‘Not the NSA’ has been ‘NSA’, ‘He has Arisen’). They put many people off looking at and commenting on what should be interesting articles. That’s why I can’t give Mail Online 5 stars!.Version: 4.1.1

Content often suspect, but app is down right annoying. While Mail online content is often suspect as they draw from many different sources and rarely fact check they do have a good round up of the news which I then check against more reliable sources. And don’t ever expect the articles to be written with good English. The main reason I’m giving this app a low rating is for the constant advertisements that they throw at you. They are highly annoying. Videos pop up and Banner ads pop up constantly interfering with the reading of the material in the app. While I’ve been able to block the majority of these annoying ads on my home computer I am unable to do so on my iPad and iPhone. Furthermore the app constantly freezes on me. At first I thought it was because my phone is about four years old, but I have a new iPad and the app still freezes on there. I’m constantly deleting and reinstalling it. Just going to give up with it on the smart phone and the iPad and just going to read it on the computer..Version: 3.8.8

ModerationThe moderators who work on this publication are far too partisan, it’s supposed to be a commentary section but if you are constructively critical of Republicans or Mr DJT, you have zero chance of the comment being published. You are going to need to follow Elon Musk and open the comments section up to people who are critical of others, it won’t physically hurt you and those you are protecting probably don’t care either way..Version: 5.4.1

AwfulApp stops working after a couple stories or takes ages to load.Version: 5.1.3

TerribleRandomly opens “forbidden” webpages as you’re reading an article and not pressing anything!.Version: 3.7.4

Love the app for my celeb fix... but keeps crashing! This app is great for a quick fix on celeb or other news (though a bit trashy at times), but it’s so frustrating as it keeps crashing every few minutes! It also drains my battery like crazy. Please fix!!.Version: 3.7.4

App has become unusableYou can not view any article without being bombarded with adds, so the app has now been deleted!.Version: 4.7

Bloody Awful AppWe all know the Daily Mail is a guilty pleasure used to fill up the boredom experienced waiting in a hold queue, sitting on the loo or at four in the morning on a night shift We know the reports are rubbish, poorly researched, badly written by 12 year old interns and full of spelling mistakes However if you like common sense suggestions referred to as life hacks, a blonde of the day with big boobs who the editor quite fancies and is featured daily, maybe endless articles on US celebs who contribute nothing to life or car adverts masquerading as articles, this is the paper for you By the way, the pop up adverts get on your wick, the app always reverts to the top when you get half way down the page and sometimes if you are lucky the whole thing freezes On the plus side it’s free, as they can’t get any idiot to pay for it.Version: 4.0.4

Unfortunately….Unfortunately had to delete the current version of the app. The ads have become too disruptive, to point of making it unusable. Too consistent. And video ads interrupting basics like scrolling headlines. Causing to freeze also (have a new iPhone, so a not a hardware problem)..Version: 5.3

Ruined by Ads and decrease in UK contentAlthough not my usual paper of choice I've always said that for Functionality, the Mail Online app was one of the best there was. However, more and more I am becoming increasingly frustrated with the way the ads interrupt its use. Ads used to be small and unobtrusive at the bottom. Now they pop up all the time when scrolling through photos, often cannot be cleared for a long time (or with increasingly harder to find close ad crosses). More and more they have loud music or voiceovers, which require immediate volume adjustment while waiting for the ad to clear. My other main gripe with the app is that despite being set to UK news, the stories are losing their uk focus. Yes world news is important but remember that the target audience is in the U.K. - headlines or articles in dollars, articles that clearly would be classed as "local" news in certain US states are not relevant in the UK. Often with key UK stories pushed down the order or barely mentioned. Sometimes I just want to find out what's going on. Not trawl through ads or pick my way through articles pandering to a US audience..Version: 3.8.8

Mixed experienceI’m fine to simply ignore the rightist political content, but it is maddening to get 2/3 of the way into a story, scroll a bit further down and find myself abruptly launched into the next story. Somebody fix this! The reader should be able to scroll without being swiped to over the next story. If I want to read the next story I can click on the vertical feed to the right of the page, so the swipe feature is redundant. I sometimes have to return to the story I wanted to read 4 or 5 times before getting to finish it. Frustrating. And I don’t want to share my location, and I’m a bit tired of all the Kardashian content..Version: 4.6

Pop upsThe pops are out of control. Almost every 30 seconds you get a pop up for an advert. It’s impossible to read the news because of this. I understand adverts are needed for a free app however this is too much..Version: 3.9.2

Don’t likeUsed to read daily mobile version no longer supported. Deleted app!!.Version: 5.3

13yr old journalists staff the Daily MailZero proof reading is done on the stories before they are published suggesting they are penned by thirteen year olds. Grammar and spelling is non existent. The non stop pop up advertising is littered throughout the app so much so that I don’t even bother to watch a video linked to a story, I go find the video elsewhere to view if I’m that keen. I do enjoy it for the commenting section which is more fun and interesting than the stories themselves, probably only thing that keeps this app from dying off..Version: 3.7.5

VideoWhy do you have to watch a 30sec add for a 20sec video. Sport 99% football there are other sports why not do a sport and a football column, save going through all the football to see IF the One i was looking is there! Geoff Marshall.Version: 4.9

Ads for kids gamesWhilst reading any news getting interrupted by a loud childish annoying long video game very annoying. I usually have to delete the app instead of listening to that RUBBISH. I would give less than one star but couldn’t. Why do you force that upon readers? Annoyed beyond belief.Version: 4.7.2

Videos are unwatchable nowBecause of the stupid ads that now come up when a clip is played this site I has gone from good to terrible. Because you cannot click past them. I get this stupid French game ad of water going down a drain for 30 seconds ten times a day. Remove the ads. Your videos were a highlight now unusable..Version: 4.0.3

Ads and viewWay, way, way too many ads and pop ups on your app and website. And for gods sake why can’t you read the whole headline on the apps view, even when the font is small! If I can’t read the headline I won’t read the article. Issues with both formats. Neither great..Version: 3.7.3

Fix it pleaseWhat have you done? One of my favourite news apps previously. Now, horrible arcade music starts randomly playing when I look at a story and anyone near me thinks I'm playing some ridiculous game on my phone. Way to wreck a great app..Version: 5.6.3

Advertising stupidityEither sort your advertising within the app out or at least offer a paid version. Quite often you have to sit through the SAME 30 second advertisement to watch a 10 second clip only to have to sit through it AGAIN on every preceding video you click..Version: 4.0.2

Annoying AdsI love the app but get frustrated with some of your game ads that purposely freeze the time and do not allow you to close them, forcing me to have to close out the app completely and hope that the article that I was previously reading is still available. Please remove ads that are not working properly so that we are able to better enjoy the app. I recently had some issues with the app crashing after viewing a video via the app so I deleted the app and redownloaded it and have been unable to log back into my account even though my credentials are saved in my phone. App support was unable to give me any assistance in resolving the issue..Version: 4.8.2

Ads ads adsI understand advertising is funding, however they pop up continually and are taking longer and longer to close down. I don’t wait the 30 seconds to watch an ad before watching a clip of news story as really don’t have enough hours in my life to waste. I have posted a comment on several occasions, which have not been offensive or used foul language and they have never appeared. All depends how much time you have really, if you’re not like me and don’t have hours to spare, just use it to flick through headlines but if you have the time to sit through ads and the patience to continually close down ads when reading a story then it a great app..Version: 3.5.1

Ruined by ads and repetitive infoI echo the same observations as most recent reviewers... I used to use this app and read the news regularly. The articles were always a bit annoying due to the same info being repeated 3-4 times in the synopsis, under photos, and in the article itself — but at least the app was usable. Suddenly it’s become completely unusable due to a wonky interface and a tidal wave of ads. Clicking on any article no longer opens the article itself, but takes you to a second Newzit page where you have to scroll again to find your article headline — all while being besieged by popup ads that continuously refresh the screen, knocking you out of place while reading. I’ve had enough — I’ve deleted the app and will never again bother with the site..Version: 3.9.2

Stop the spam/scamKeeps opening safari pop-ups telling me to install apps to remove a virus, what is this garbage? Uninstalled this awful app..Version: 3.7.4

Time to switchI’ve been with Daily Mail for years. It’s gone straight down hill. It’s become a rag focusing on way too much pop culture. Even the spelling mistakes are annoying..Version: 5.7.5

“Temporarily Unavailable in Your Region”I’ve had this app for many years. As of last week it stopped working. Why is it not available in my region? I’m in New Zealand. It’s so annoying. May as well delete it as it’s useless..Version: 4.0.1

RubbishJust keeps crashing, it’s a comic anyway, mostly over inflated, unsubstantiated Click Bait..Version: 4.1.5

Closing in middle of readingI am constantly having the app close while reading.. very frustrating. Then I have to open app and then find article I was reading, or I just don’t give up..Version: 3.7.4

Latest Version Just as Flakey As The Last OneThis latest version of the app is supposed to contain bug fixes however I’m still having to kill the app almost every other day because it freezes in the Conversation screen. Fix the key issues. Do better..Version: 5.4

Too loud!I hope SAS are paying a lot for ads they run because they are ruining the user experience and turning me to other news outlets. The auto start video & general loudness of this ad is one of the reasons I am rarely using MailOnline these days..Version: 4.1.5

Too repetitiveThe app is fairly good apart from when it crashes but I guess my problem is more the paper itself. It’s just getting too repetitive in what is on to read, I mean just this morning we have 17 stories on Harry and Meghan stepping down. Now I know yes it’s a big deal but 17 is just excessive when the rest of the news has just 13 stories without clicking load more. I’m not really interested in John Virgos view on the matter or most others for that matter but it is the same all the time, stories just dragged out and split up taking up all the slots, why not just put them all into 2 or 3 at the most and have done with it and start showing stories/news of other things that are actually happening in the UK and around the world..Version: 3.9

You have no integrityThe daily mail is a pice of crap with stories that are untrue and outright lies, this will be the last time I delete this app but hope More People delete you and your dad little lying paper that is crap !!!!!!.Version: 5.2.1

MisogynisticI find it extraordinary in 2019 that The Daily Mail persists in defining women with the use of words such as ‘busty’. Would a man be described by his testicle size ? The articles The Mail feature are often written in such a way as to invite criticism of a woman’s clothing choice, weight, hair and clothing. Words like ‘flaunt’ are used when a minor celebrity is photographed wearing shorts or a low cut top. I also have concerns around the constant photos published of the very young adult ( around 17) Daughter if Cindy Crawford. Many hundreds of photos of a child going about her life. She’s not alone in this creepy following of young females by the paper and I feel it needs challenging by someone. What’s it about because it’s strange and bordering on paedophilic. Much of the content is utter rubbish with the occasional decent interview but far too much emphasis on shaming women..Version: 3.8.6

I have deleted the appI have read Daily Mail for a while as the app us easy to use and there is a good range of topics however today I felt the need to delete the app. Not for the articles but actually for the comments people are writing. I am not easily offended but some people are downright rude, nasty and the innuendos are disgusting and shocking. Until DM deactivates the comments I won’t use again..Version: 4.0

Depends which moderator you get...Your comment may or may not be published. It depends on who is working that day and whether they agree with your opinion. To see people’s real views, look at the articles that say ‘comments have not been moderated in advance’. Otherwise you’re at the mercy of an 18 year old apprentice who disagrees with what you say. Also, the comments don’t appear where they’re supposed to if you try to reply. They appear as a new comment. If you don’t like adverts, don’t bother either. Some are 30 seconds long just to look at a picture. Update: it seems you can now only read the first few paragraphs of an article before you’re met with option to subscribe for a monthly fee. It’s a shame because I used to enjoy this site!.Version: 5.7

Please give us an ad free version!I love daily mail but really REALLY dislike all the ads. I usually read it while in bed, so the ads really ruin the experience. I'd pay for an ad free version - please give us an option! I've had the ap for over 5 years now, and to compare then and now is ridiculous. I can't even read a full story including pics without at least two ads popping up. Ad. Free. Paid. Ap. Please..Version: 3.5.2

Extremely annoying ads.I was happy to put up with the ads that would pop up every now and then but the latest update they are popping up every 5 seconds without me even looking at anything. Very annoying. Would be happy to pay a fee to get ride of these. Stay away!!!!!!!!.Version: 3.5.1

Getting comments postedFor some reason my fairly conservative comments rarely get published by the DM. Why is it, as a regular reader/ commenter, that I see the same people’s comments get posted for different stories, sometimes multiple times for the same story, and mine are not. Is this woke “journalism”, or you don’t like my account name? It certainly isn’t the content of my posts, as I see some very offensive, even threatening posters constantly appearing on this site. There is one poster in particular who says he’s from “Spain”;comments in all capital letters and challenges fellow posters to give out there addresses so he can “deal” with them in person if he doesn’t like that they challenge or down vote his comments! What’s the deal?!?!.Version: 4.1.1

Too many ads!I have read Daily Mail online for many years. I have had the app on my phone for a few years as well. They now have ads that pop up and take over the screen while you are swiping through the photos of each article. It used to be every few articles would have one ad. Now it seems that almost every article has at least one ad, but I have had 4 pop up in one story. The latest ad for one of those stupid games won’t let you close it until you have watched the entire thing which is close to a full minute. I’m fed up with having to close the app and reopen it to get back to the articles. I’m uninstalling the app now and will move on to something else..Version: 3.9.2

Very basic journalism skills required to get a job with the DMI don’t think you could even call the writers at the DM journalists. Most of them are social media stalkers who stalk someone’s Instagram page and rewrite their posts as ‘news’. Even then the article is often full of spelling and grammatical mistakes and is repetitive. I have also noticed that text is often covered up by a photo, thereby making it unreadable. I’ve also learned to never click on a photo unless I want to see a 30 second ad..Version: 4.0.3

Slow and buggy since 2020 with too many Z-lister articlesSince the beginning of 2021 this app has progressively gotten worse on the basis it keeps hanging, adverts half load and then the application will not swipe or scroll smoothly. Multiple stories often contain references to Z-list media stars who should not be given any further coverage as they are a waste of oxygen and the comment section merely invites trolls to make stupid comments invariably from a completely uneducated standpoint on the stories in question. I have had it with The Daily Mail and rather than look at their garbage I have since purchased a subscription to a worthy newspaper who do not harass you with pointless adverts and grammatically incorrect or factually incorrect stories..Version: 4.3

Terrible. An absolute joke of a media outlet. Stories are littered with spelling and grammar mistakes to the point where you sometimes don’t get what the journalist is trying to say. Posts a lot of completely pointless articles contradicting themselves over and over again. Also slowly adding more and more ads which you’re unable to skip. Whether it’s as you open the app and you’re forced to look at ‘Todays Sponsors’ logo for 5 seconds before you can read the news, or it’s when you scroll past 2 pictures to get some 6 second ad you can’t skip. Or it’s when you try to watch a video and it forces a 30 second ad you cannot skip for a clip that lasts 15 seconds. Also half the time that ad completely takes over you’re phone where the sound is playing in the background even though you’ve forcefully close the app completely because the clip you wanted to watch has bugged out and won’t load. Forcing you to reset your phone completely to stop the ads audio from playing through your phone. Basically all around the app is becoming a monetisation mess just forcing ads upon ads upon you. And if it’s not that it can be quite hard wading through the constant grammar issues that could be corrected by a 10 year old. I’d go elsewhere to get your news.Version: 5.4.2

Major technical fault! When you select ‘more’ to scroll down, it keeps jumping back to the top again. When are they going to fix it???.Version: 3.7.4

Very disappointing experienceIt is impossible to read the news with current version with pop up advertisements every second even after you close them they keep popping up- surely it’s an issue? Very disappointing experience..Version: 5.5

Glitches out every few minsTerrible app.Version: 3.9.2

AnnoyingNon stop annoying advert/music now causing me to delete and it use !!!.Version: 5.6.3

DreadfulDM is a comic and now just reports on inane Tik tok videos. It also has major bugs on iPad as if you hit on comments it 8/10 freezes up the app so you have to reload. I’m not bothering. Terrible news site and awful app..Version: 5.1.1

UnpolishedSo many ads that will just randomly pop up whilst looking through photos in stories. The journalistic level is just laughable with typos, incorrect words used and sentences that just don’t make sense. For it being advertised as the “au” version, there are a lot of UK stories and then stories have UK pounds amounts. Tends to copy information and stories from other sites (with or without credit I don’t know) but days later! Good for a laugh tho..Version: 3.7.3

CrashingApp continually freezes. I have to say editorial content quality has dropped considerably over the last few years too. News items repeat themselves within the text, meaning you read the same lines 2 or even 3 times. Many items repeated by presenting them in different ways- example ‘I’m a celebrity’, Megan and Harry articles. Grammar and spelling is sometimes laughable. Does anyone proof the articles? Most of what’s reported isn’t news, it’s like an excerpt from ‘Hello’ magazine. Just off to re- boot my iPad for the 4th time this week to un- freeze the app again, in case there are any articles worth reading. Might just switch to The Sun instead..Version: 4.9

More time crashing then reading. Not sure what you did, but read above!!.Version: 5.3

Irritating cartoon adsThe ads are incredibly long and you can’t exit or bypass them. This is disruptive and I always close the app once they start. I would happily pay a subscription if it means I don’t have to watch these 40 second ads for cartoon games..Version: 4.6.1

Once upon a time ...Once upon a time this app used to be usable ... just. These days it will turn your entire device into quicksand or a peat bog (depending on your preference), in the blink of an eye. Well ... more likely in the time it takes to load ... which is about the time it takes to make a nice fresh cuppa' ... and prepare the evening meal. I'm no app' programmer, but from what I can glean from web searching, this app' is way, way 'top heavy' with static advertising, dynamic advertising, links to just about everything in the universe and many, many other 'things' that cause you to tear your hair out by the handful in frustration. Best avoided ... try Daily Mail via a search engine ... the presentation is a real mess, but it seems a little less 'gluggy'. Which is a pity, as I quite like the layout in the 'app' version..Version: 4.0.1

FrustratingSo disappointing and frustrating. Other newspaper apps appear to be very good but the Mail app does not step up to the mark. I can be scrolling down for a news item and the next minute I am on the women’s fashion page or celebrities which interests me not one iota and sometimes when pressing the back button it does not return to the previous page but goes all the way back to the beginning , then I have the tedious task of scrolling all the way back down again. FRUSTRATED PADDYWACK , This is an addition to this earlier review. Lately I have been so frustrated at using this app so I deleted it but a fortnight later I reinstalled it because I missed it so much. But I am still not happy with the app. I don’t get this problem with any other news app. The Daily mail for me is still the best app.Version: 5.7.5

Errors in content and layoutContent Marketing and IT/ programmers need to check their work on this. First of all programming, it is so frustrating to have downloaded the iPad version to find articles cut off around images, this looks to be a formatting issue in the form, meaning I can’t read the end almost on every article. .This needs sorting out. Content market, why do you repeat the content so many times in the same article? Spelling mistakes , many of which look like lazy auto corrects. Placing content in wrong sections and repetitively is really annoying. Some sections are not updated often enough. That said it is a good spread of news but could be much better..Version: 4.0.4

Read the reviews before downloading!I downloaded this app about 30 minutes ago and am now deleting it after reading several reviews. I selected the “most recent” filter and read through as far back as three years ago. Almost all reviewers gave one-star ratings due to the fact that they are forced to watch ads lasting 30-40 seconds, with no option to skip, that occur MULTIPLE times during a single article. Users of this app consistently complain that the repetitive ads are not just incredibly annoying due to their length and frequency—they’re also of no relevance whatsoever (arcade games, for god’s sake). Subsequently, the reading experience becomes extremely frustrating, and many find the flippant nature of the ads to be in very poor taste when the article is of a more somber/serious nature. Many reviewers have stated they’d be happy to pay a fee to support the app, as would I, but given the fact that the developers have not responded to even ONE suggestion or complaint makes it crystal clear that they don’t give a crap about their readers and that their main objective isn’t journalistic integrity but the almighty dollar. GOODBYE DM..Version: 4.7

TOO MANY POP UP ADSYour news app is one of the best around in terms of analysis and coverage but man, you now have a world record umber of VERY annoying pop up ads within each news subject. Not only do you put ads in the main page but you now have MULTIPLE pop ups in each subject. That’s WAY TOO MANY. Disgusting..Version: 5.2.1

Keeps CrashingThis app keeps crashing lately every time I swipe to the next article. Can’t work out if it’s punishing me for turning off the stupid and infuriating ads. Anyway...the DM is rubbish really. Trash articles often written by illiterate 12 year olds - actually probably an insult to 12 years olds who can spell much better. Often recycled news, occasional decent articles written by adults. Oh but the DM readers comments are often priceless and worth there weight in gold. Honestly read a pathetic article and then gear up to read the comments. Really don’t know how half the media survives these days. It’s trash click bait, full of lies and half truths and often politically motivated. But it’s free...apart from having the worst ads rammed down your throat. Honestly, I refuse to even look at them just out of spite. Then a DM reader commented on how to turn them off. Now I get a message everyday telling I’ve turned them off. I KNOW I DID! I’m not giving in though..Version: 4.0.1

Terrible- Loss of privacy manipulationAt one time a trusted objective source of information. Then the advertising greed took over. It is a perfect example of the process of “wear them down until they surrender their privacy “,. If you don’t agree to allow your private information shared they begin a slow process of increasing each advertisement time to the point that they hope you give in and allow your private information to be collected and shared. Example, after saying “no” to collecting my personal data the advertisements have reached a point where a single advertisement will repeat 5, 6, 8, 10 plus times until I ether accept them using my personal data or I opt out of the use of the app. So…I opt out, don’t give in to BIG tech..Version: 5.5

All they do is divide people. No newsThey moderate the comments to the point of causing them to lean left most of the time. They must really think people are stupid. Every article is about who did something wrong. They should also include na na na na in the middle of articles. Can you imagine how popular they would be if they actually reported real news and not to just spew lies and hate? It’s so shameful to the British that they allow this propaganda garbage around the world. Lastly, the folks who work there must be extremely bitter inside to write only hateful and spiteful articles. Is it really worth it? Today, I down vitrr something and it immediately was erased. I copied and pasted the url to an different browser and down voted again. Guess what. They erased it in the spot. They don’t even care if you know they moderate vote counts. It’s so funny to see these kids moderating the comments to their view faster than the comments are coming in. It’s easy to spot. They must think their readers are stupid..Version: 4.7

Slow and glitchy but also addictiveI am totally addicted to checking this app every now, and then… Maybe several times a day. However, the glitches are about to make me abandon this app forever. First of all, it takes forever for the photos to load. I don’t remember it being like this before. I don’t know what was changed, but I wish it would get changed back. Secondly, I will be in the middle of reading one article, and the app will completely switch to a totally different article. This happens basically every time I read an article on this app. It doesn’t take me to an ad, it takes me to a totally different article. Annoying. I just deleted the app and I’m going to reload it to see if that helps at all. If the issues continue, I’m just going to delete it, cold turkey..Version: 5.4.1

Too had to actually read an articleJust downloaded this app today. I have tried to read 3 articles and it was impossible. It keeps redirecting to ads. I understand you need adverts to pay the bills but the readers have to be able to read the articles. Very disappointing..Version: 4.3

Memory HogAfter reading a few articles or solving a couple of the puzzles in the Puzzles category, the app and the iPad I use it on become sluggish and eventually unresponsive. Each time they introduce a new version of the app, the issue seems to get worse. It is extremely frustrating when for example you had been working on a crossword puzzle only to have it crush as you were about to complete it and you have to start it again from the beginning. Get rid of those video articles that you introduced not too long ago and which play whether you want to watch them or not..Version: 5.2.1

Don’t bother with itWhat used to be unbiased reporting is now no longer the case! Daily mail should be ashamed of their reporting and they way they censor the comment section to fit their agenda but allow uneducated morons to comment what they like and call innocent human beings all sorts of names. Get your news from elsewhere. Most of their articles are about how natural and beautiful the Kardashians are. Save your download and find a reputable news outlet if there’s any still around.Version: 5.5.1

Used to be my favorite, uninstalled itI used to love this app however now the app is force feeding me video ads every 3 seconds. I uninstalled because that’s crap. This is garbage now. I could deal with the poor editing and simple spelling errors but video ads so often I can’t even read the article...pointless and obnoxious Edit: I tried to get the app again because I enjoy the stories. how did this get worse? Now I am force fed a noisy and LONG ad for garbage games every three seconds. It’s not even worth it. I’m uninstalling for good. Apple news will work for me I guess. I’d rather pay for a subscription than have ads shoved down my throat ever couple of seconds. Get it together..Version: 3.9.2

It’s still not workingWhy is the app not working in NZ.Version: 4.0.1

App doesn’t work. Worst censorship. This app is the worst functioning app I ever had on my phone - i could be scrolling on the app and then my phone randomly turns off and on. It freezes and constantly lags, the app is essentially unusable. After constantly uninstalling and re-installing the app literally dozens of times, I’ve finally deleted the app for good now. Rubbish app! Also the censorship on there was getting bad, my comments would get deleted without notice and my arrow count was clearly being fiddle around with..Version: 4.1.3

You ask! For 5 stars u get 1Any App that asks me to rate and only gives 5 stars as an option doesn’t deserve a good rating. Keeps crashing. Deleted..Version: 3.5.1

Use to the 1 stop news shop until the addsThis app use to be the absolute best ever until they put all of the pop up adds on it. You can’t click on pictures without at least 4 pop up adds interrupting your screen. Which your forced to watch and wait until their done playing before you can even close them out. Most times there’s no X and if there is you can access it until you watch the add. I find myself closing the screen more than I do open it and I use to be in this site all the time. It’s a shame they allowed pop up adds to completely take over their site! Don’t waste your time it’ll just irritate you and waste your time because you won’t even be able to fully see any of the pictures without being interrupted and irritated a hundred times!!!!.Version: 4.1.5

UnstableConstantly rolls back to the top screen when you have scrolled down several screens. Extremely frustrating bug they seem incapable of fixing for some time.Version: 5.4.2

Do not download this appHave to sit through full ads for 30 seconds if you want to see a video linked to the news story you are reading. NO WAY TO EXIT OUT. Every time I try to look at a photo the app redirects me to another video site which I have to then restart the app and scroll down to find the story I was half way through reading. All this makes me want to kill myself out of pointless frustration. Great comments by real people is the only reason I bother now. Everything else on here is swinging dangerously hard left and bias and the ‘reporters’ are getting dumber by the day. I USED TO LOVE THIS APP, NOW I HATE IT ENOUGH TO WRITE LONG RANTING COMMENTS which I will do on a regular basis until things go back to the way they were. Please join me in airing these regular frustrations and maybe one day a boss at the site will actually come across these constant complaints.........aaaaand breath..Version: 4.0.1

ADVERTS RUINING IT.Recently, this app has been ruined by intrusive adverts whenever you tap on a photo. Most of these ads are painfully stupid, too. You have to wait 3/4 seconds before you can dismiss them. I’ve never even seen anything I’d want to buy and I wouldn’t do even if I did!! I’ve noticed too that comments I make that don’t suit the newspaper’s agenda don’t appear at all. Not very balanced,is it? The content and reporting are going downhill too. Lots of petty, mindless little stories more suited to the Sun or Star and frequent grammatical lapses and duplicated sentences. Could be so much better if it concentrated on more serious topics. If these irritating ads continue,I think I’ll be deleting any time soon. They’ve ruined it!!.Version: 4.6.1

Was pretty good....no longerWhen I first started reading the Daily Mail, it was informative and fair and always something interesting to read about. The comments section was always one of my favorite parts of the publication. Different views and discussions. In the past few years it has turned into a leftist biased site that no longer seems to give the reader the facts and allow the reader to make their own opinions. Certain articles are moderated with total predictability and others, anything goes. Just no longer fun to read with such biased angles. Nothing ever stays the same and the fun has left this app. DM...you can’t moderate these comments..Version: 4.6.1

No longer the best news appThis used to be by far the best daily news app, and the interface is still the best by far, but the number of obtrusive adverts is increasing beyond what is reasonable. You get served 30 second long adverts every time you scroll through just a handful of pictures in a story. Who's going to sit there and watch yet another 30 second advert for a stupid game when all they want to do is read the paper? And this happens every minute or so (if not more). I am SO close to deleting this for good, after being a fan for years. If i could pay £10 for a year's ad-free subscription, I would. Or even maybe £2.49 per month? But it's just driving me absolutely mad, and making me not want to use it in its current ad-infested form..Version: 4.0.2

An unavoidable dumpster fireThe app brings news from around the world at lightning speed, and provides perspectives that are interesting even if I don't agree with them. The focus on the Royals is relentless. One must suspend any hope for proper grammar or lack of misspellings, because the focus is on quantity, not quality. Sometimes full sections of an article are repeated later on in the article, just to fill up space. The app itself is continually littered with bugs. Every release brings major UI problem, such as freezing, duplicated items, blank spaces, crashes, etc. Yet I use this app several times every day..Version: 5.6.4

Spam adsThe ongoing spam ads are super annoying.Version: 4.0.4

No longer my favorite news appI usually use this app several times a day to read my news. Not any more. One of my favorite parts about this app was flipping through an articles images once I finished reading. For a couple of weeks now, loud 30 second adds pop up every couple of images that I flip through. Part of my evening routine was reading my news on MailOnline while putting down my 2 year old, but those obnoxious loud advertisements pop up out of the blue and scare the bejeezus out of her and I every 2 minutes. Not to mention that even if you exit out of ad, the loud sound continues to play for up to 15 seconds sometimes. Kind of a huge bummer..Version: 3.9.2

Users of Mail Online bewareUsing the Mail online app appears to allow the owners and a massive number of third parties to hoover up vast amounts of information from your phone/tablet. Whilst it is possible to object to personalised ads via the privacy options offered to users, it does not appear to be possible to completely block the collection of data from your device via the privacy settings. You only have to scroll down to find and read the huge list of organisations that still have access to your data, even when you have switched off everything that you can. If this data wasn't useful to these organisation, they wouldn't want or need access to it. Just think about what personal information you might be inadvertently giving away in return for access to the site. My inclination is to delete the app and use a browser that effectively blocks data collection and/or connect to the Mail online website via a VPN..Version: 5.2.1

News an ViewsA pretty good app for keeping up to date with UK and international news. Only negative is the poor spelling and grammar. The app has now stored to crash during scrolling or after playing a video which is annoying..Version: 3.5.1

FrustratingMail on line has potential to be the perfect app to keep up with current news. Unfortunately it is badly let down by appalling "proof" reading . The number of errors in type is distracting to news articles and in these days of auto correct it's hard to see why they are not picked up. Also when a high percentage, sometimes 60/70% , of the twenty main articles are about the same event just dressed up differently it is often not even an interesting read. Maybe I'm alone in not needing to see best/worst dress at the Met gala in half a dozen different articles for example, once is surely enough. I would prefer to read more news worthy items..Version: 3.5.3

App freezesApp freezes 9 out of 10 times i read comments. Will not allow me to return to articles. Very frustrating as I have to delete app and reinstall. Sometimes this doesn’t even work. I then have to wait a couple of days before the app refreshes itself..Version: 5.4

Not greatTheres a pop up ad every 5 seconds that you have to sit through, beyond annoying and pointless im sure everyone has deleted it by now. a million ads, constant spelling mistakes, calling people by the wrong name, and false information is what to expect from this app and these articles.Version: 5.4.3

Pop-up ads have ruined itIts good as far as being able to access stories goes, however its VERY laggy and often pictures don’t load (i have 5G). It’s the adds that do it, try an open a picture and adds for 1 min. It has become virtually unusable due to adds..Version: 5.4.1

Ads...ads...ads...🤯😡I get it. You need ads to make additional money for your company but come on. I have to close and open the app for it to be useful. It’s annoying when you just want to read the “news” and sip some “coffee” in the morning. I only have 2 stars because of the content. Please give us a break on the ads. You have enough on your website. Btw it has to load 50+ ads if you don’t have an adblocker. Which they’ve now blocked browsing the site if you have it enabled. There’s always something running in the background. If you want people to use your app and view your site, give us a break on the ads. I hate myself for making this next statement.... or make it a .99 subscription for ad free content (ducking all the stones being thrown🤷🏾‍♀️🙍🏾‍♀️) At least we’d get to view something in peace..Version: 3.8.8

Too many pop up ads and spelling/grammatical errorsWhilst I like the ability to view local and world wide news, I find the pop ups incredibly frustrating and inappropriate. Ie reading about a DV related murder and a gambling ad pops up. I don’t play games, so the game ads are super annoying. Also the grammatical and spelling errors are rookie are best.Version: 4.0.1

Doesn’t workHave always been able to use in NZ and now all of a sudden it doesn’t work in my region. Super frustrating.Version: 4.0.1

WhyyyyyI cannot stand the ridiculous amounts of ads. I have no clear indication on how to pay to get rid of them. Seems like you’re money hungry to include multiple 1 minute advertisements in a quick story or 10 pictures. Also, the app refreshes to the top when I’m scrolling the articles and while reading them. Annoying!!!!.Version: 4.1.5

Issue with Ads popping upIn the last week I am constantly getting ads/apps pop up while I’m reading an article. I understand you have ads in your feed but when they pop up with me clicking into them that is intrusive. The pop does not go away it continues to pop up until I shut down your app.Version: 3.7

No longer available in my region! Was working fine by as of Wednesday it just says it’s no longer available in my region. Why? Also the ads are beyond annoying..Version: 4.0.1

Not available in your regionWhy is this so hard to sort out??.Version: 4.0.1

Time to call it a dayPros: it’s free and has some entertainment value. Cons: the sensationalist headlines, the lazily or cheap articles eg the quotes from well known people based on someone’s tweet they liked (but didn’t state those words), the long ads on videos, the illiterate showbiz journos and some lesser known ones in the news section, the paid for ads masquerading as articles, the gushing trolling articles on minor “stars”, the obnoxious, illiterate and intellectually challenged readers with their ill thought out comments, the inconsistent political stance (even more so since the new editor took charge), the hypocrisy, the bugs that never get fixed despite promises (eg replying to a comment via your profile submits a new separate comment), and having Piers Morgan as an editor at large writing sensationalist articles geared towards maintaining his fragile ego. I’m sure I’ve forgotten other failings but I think I’ve made my point..Version: 3.7.6

Ridiculous Pop-up Ads, Poor EnglishI was able to overlook the absurdly poor English, assuming that most articles were hastily written by wannabe journalists or that Daily Mail was unable to employ a competent editor. 60% of the content was interesting news, and 40% was rubbish gossip. I typically opened the app once or twice a day to check headlines and browse stories. However, DM recent implemented pop-up video ads that occur so frequently that one cannot complete a single paragraph. I attempted to overlook this annoyance (free news app and all), but gave up after several days. It seems that someone at DM is intentionally sabotaging the app and user experience. I have deleted this app, and don’t plan to reinstall..Version: 3.6

Excellent customer supportI reported an issue with the Olympics tab which had disappeared from the IOS version of the Mail App, I did this by simply using the send us feedback link in settings. I then received fast and friendly responses and happily the issue was resolved by uninstalling and reinstalling the app and checking the latest IOS update was installed (which it was), turns out that it was a known issue that had been brought to the attention of Apple to resolve. 10 out of 10 to the MailOnline customer app support team for service..Version: 4.1.5

Great app, shame about the spelling errorsI find this app very handy as I can access news when ever I have the time. However, I feel this app needs some much needed work. Almost every article has spelling errors, to the point where it just gets so frustrating hence writing this review. I also feel that it needs an adjustment in what it feels is more important news. Having to skim past the lastest celeb articles to get to ‘real news’ such as the issues in London and brexit and what’s going on in the world not ‘a royal being difficult over a tiara’ headline news on the app..Version: 3.7.4

BIASED AS PHUCK!This website is full of fake journalist who has a writing educational level of a 3rd grader. Their headlines are always racially charged to invoke anger and will take a news story that has nothing to do with race and turn it into what they need to fit their agenda. They claim to have "news" stories that are not news at all and have nothing to do with anything. If your comments on their articles don't fit their agendas they don't post them. They put their own personal opinions and claim them to be facts, or they just put whatever they think will get people's attention, such as making a generative racially charged article. They have no real "sources" to anything they write and literally just make stuff up as they go, without proofreading and sometimes even literally just copy the same paragraphs over and over to take up space on the page. These people are a joke who think they know everything about America yet are based in Europe..Version: 3.5.1

App not available in nzHave used this app for several years and now it’s not saying temporarily unavailable in nz. Has been down for 5 days so far. Do not download if you live in nz. No response from daily mail on why it’s no longer available and no indication of when it might be available, if at all..Version: 4.0.1

The paper is only good for toilet paper!I was happy to keep the app on my phone and view the stories mainly for the laughable bigoted views in the commentary! But in the last few days cookie consent changes have meant having to have the option to reject vendor legitimate access to phone data which I have tried to reject, yet the settings sneakily allow you to toggle off the legitimate interest from vendors but once you scroll back you the those you have toggled off, the setting has reset to allowing legitimate interest. It’s literally impossible to restrict vendor legitimate interest in phone data. And on that bomb shell I have deleted this infuriating app. I suggest you all do the same if you appreciate your privacy!.Version: 4.2.1

Unavailable all of a suddenWhy can’t I access this anymore? It’s been saying temporarily unavailable for days for NZ.Version: 4.0.1

App Ruined!Use to love this app and open it several times a day to check in on the news. Now you open it, start reading an article and all of a sudden you hear loud music from ads you don’t even see. When you do find the annoying ad you can’t close it or stop it. I have to close the app completely. It constantly happens. It has become too annoying to continue to use this app. Just in the last month it seems like the app got ruined by the new constantly annoying ads that stay on longer then they indicate with a x. It just keeps playing. Went to their website and of course they have set up the same annoying ads that take over. Pop ups that you close and then come right back. It’s a shame that the way you choose to do ads now on the app and in the browser is over the top that I and my office of 35 people all agree and have deleted the app and removed the website from their favorites..Version: 5.6.3

Lots of content, poor writingSo, DM is a rag. Plenty of freshly uploaded content, but I’m convinced that the articles are written by non-English speakers; I would even guess the words are recorded and then transcribed by a non-English speaker, because typos, poor grammar and words inserted without proper context are common. I doubt articles are proofread, but if I happen to read a well-written article, I’m sure to mention it in the comments. If you’re looking for pictures of awards shows or the royal family, DM does a pretty good job there. What annoys me about their picture captions is that it’s the exact same verbiage in the article, with the same typos and incorrect wording. Often, you don’t have to read the article; flip through the pictures and read the captions. Another annoying aspect of the site is that videos start playing on the lower right if you scroll past it. I’ve tried looking for an opt-out feature, to no avail. If an article has several videos, I’m always clicking the X as I scroll to make it go away. Bloody annoying. Stop forcing this feature!!! Don’t take any information you read on DM as gospel. If you see an intriguing headline, get the gist from DM and go to a reputable news site for confirmation..Version: 3.7.4

Good app but inconsistantFor the second time in just a few weeks I am unable to read any of the content. The message that my subscription has lapsed keeps popping up. It hasn't. I can read the articles perfectly well on my iPad mini but the iPhone insists that I cannot. I tried deleting and reinstalling the app several times, no change. Turned off phone for 24 hours. No change. I can’t get into the subscription section. When I look at cancelling the subscription on my iPad it says I can continue to read until the monthly renewal date of 22 June. Going round in circles. Ridiculous!.Version: 3.9.2

Excessive long adsDid y’all reset your algorithm?.Version: 4.7

Not working latelyMy app not working. It keeps jumping to the same story over and over again. I deleted the app then re installed it again and it’s doing the same thing. I have had to go on the google version to look at stories..Version: 4.8.3

Good news app, though lots of typos and repetitive wordingThis is one of my few go to daily news apps and I check it multiple times a day. Great variety of stories including many I see here before they show up on other sites. So it is great to have and I recommend downloading it. On the negative side, many articles seem to be hastily or automatically generated, or dictated with transcription errors. They are full of sloppy language errors, unclear references, and the same sentences repeated multiple times in the same article. Also, videos often load very slowly so there can be a long wait before they start - even for very short videos..Version: 3.5.1

Too many addsI like daily mail but I can’t use the app anymore. Too many adds and pop up every time you open an article click a picture it’s an add every 5 seconds. I have to delete this app.Version: 4.0.1

AdvertsYou can’t look at the photographs past picture 4 when the ads continually pop up one after another. I counted 24 times I closed an ad and was still on Picture 4 and that is still happening as of today and on every article I am reading. I have contacted the mail and they said it is a programming glitch and they’re looking at it. Me personally thinks it’s not a programming glitch and it’s just a way to generate more advertising revenue, I’ve since downloaded another news app and it’s much better and I can read articles and look at the pictures without being bombarded with 24 ads as many seconds left.Version: 5.5.2

CrashesApp keeps freezing or crashing. Many restarts required.Version: 4.9

Not available in my regionHad this App for years never had a problem, stopped working on Wednesday, was told by the iPhone apple support email that it wasn’t available in my region yet my husbands phone which is a Samsung works fine ? Never received a email back after i replied with that ..Version: 4.0.1

The Ads are Killing Me!This app use to be awesome! The Daily Mail reports many U.S.-based news stories before the mainstream media in this country does. But I’m about two minutes from pulling the plug on this app due to the ads. I get it. They need to make money. But the ads have become so annoying they that dramatically detract from the app. And many times you are forced to watch a 2-3 minute video ad just to see the 20 second clip the story is about. I can hardly take it anymore! And now they have video ads just pop up for apparently no reason at all. They need to get their act together or they will lose a lot of their audience..Version: 3.5.3

Someone got into My Account and changed my UserNaneBeware my profile has been tampered with, someone got in and changed my user name. I would like to know how that is possible. Deleting from all devices now. It’s pretty biased reporting in the best of days to be fair, plenty of other sites choose from..Version: 5.7.1

Can’t read any article due to constant pop-up adsI love this app more than anything but it has become absolutely impossible to click on an article, with the intent on actually reading it!!! It’s insane. I tried to read an article today, and each time I closed the pop-up, another one popped up, this went on 5-7 times minimum until I had to close the app. This is extreme overkill, I can’t even be bothered anymore. I get the need for pop-up ads but to this level is stupid..Version: 5.5

Cherry Picks CommentsThis site is 1/3 news, 1/3 celebrity rag and 1/3 national enquirer. They literally just had a full article about a squirrel running in front of Taylor Swift’s boyfriend’s car. And , with that, they couldn’t even spell squirrel right. They CONSTANTLY block comments. If it says the comments are moderated, don’t even bother leaving a comment. They block the majority regardless as to how benign the comment is. You see people complaining about that often. It’s very hard to truly see the common voice. It’s like they’re trying to control the narrative. Also, there’s a LOT of trolls who rudely and aggressively attack people with opposing views with no retribution..Version: 5.5.3

Used to love this APPI used to really love this APP until the past week; an advertisement pops us as soon as I start to read a story; Star Trek Fleet Command with audible loud firing noises. The most annoying experience ever!.Version: 4.9

Freezing NewsThe site is very easy to use however part way through reading parts of stories here and there, the system freezes. This results in trying to remove the app and then reinstalling it. A further problem arises with this as it generally take’s numerous attempts to try and remove the app. It makes for very frustrating reading but being from GB I grew up reading the mail. This freezing can happen several times whilst trying to read the stories sadly..Version: 5.7.1

Appalling journalismThe adverts have taken over this App - why on earth must they have ads with sounds! The standard of the reporters is terrible. There does not appear to be anyone editing the published news reports. There is endless repetition and far too many needless photos. A lot of the published articles appear to be ripped off from other news sources and web sites without any real investigative reporting by Daily Mail reporters. The most trivial and non news stories are given more prominence than genuine news. It would appear that Daily Mail management do not read the comments left by their readers because many articles draw a lot of criticism about the standard of the reporting. Leaving comments is hit and miss as to whether it is published. The layout of the App is quite good and is easy to navigate..Version: 3.7.5

VileThis news page is a plague of disinformation & ran by disgusting rats..Version: 5.0

Hidden lines in articles & blank pagesThere seems to be a issue with the app display (I have an iPhone 14 Pro) as there are often blank white boxes and pictures which hide the last and first line of the nearest paragraphs. It’s very frustrating and often leads me to just closing the app and reading news elsewhere. I’m also in agreement with lots of others as the articles appear blank and I have to refresh the page a few times until the article appears. Been using the app for years and this is all new so hopefully they read the reviews as it’s time for an update to fix these new problems. Really like the ‘paper’ but these things are v off putting..Version: 5.5.2

FreezesVery often when I view comments on a report, the app freezes and I can’t return to the homepage. I have to delete the app and then reload it. Please sort it out..Version: 5.2.1

Ads ads adsPop up ads. Ads that automatically open App Store. Ads you can’t close. Ads that cover what you’re trying to read. Plus the writers consistently misspell basic works and write poorly. Could be good but it’s not.Version: 4.7.1

Waste of timeUsed to be ok, now the comments won’t load, keep getting error messages of “Whoops we seem to have technical issues”. Terrible grammar and un-checked articles. App freezes. You post comments and they don’t appear or appear on the wrong thread. Now they’ve introduced membership only stories, even though they can’t get the free stuff right. If you go in your history it says you’ve not posted any comments today, even though you can see them on the articles. Just a cheap, tacky app. Edit to say: they replied and asked me to log it on the app which I did. No response to my log and no better. Just tried 7 times to read comments on an article and had “Whoops….” every time. Absolutely useless app..Version: 5.7.2

A Bug I cannot get rid of!As I am navigating around the Mail on Line all of a sudden a drumming noise starts, sounds like an audio from a video maybe? I have contacted DM and uninstalled and reinstalled, Closed the phone completely, cleared the cache. If I navigate back to the main page it stops but if I click on an article I start reading and boom! this audio drumming starts again. Normally I love DM but this makes it so annoying I cannot read the articles! HELP!! I re-rated back up to 4 ⭐️ as the bug as finally disappeared. Back to one star as it just happened again! No one has gotten back to me a out this. Interestingly when the whoosh noise followed by drumming started again when I pulled down the page and held it as it was loading then it stopped but something is wrong and it is very annoying. Does not happen on my Samsung tablet Back to 2 stars as someone finally replied and it has not happened yet today. This has only started since installing ios 16.1.Version: 4.9

UnusableNow it’s either an old typewriter sound during each article or a loud music. Unable to read at all with EVERY page making some kind of annoying noise, but the typewriter is the worst. I thought it was some out of control ad, but I clicked them all off, yet the typewriter sound or music remained. I guess it’s uninstall from me..Version: 5.6.3

Lacks latest iOS featuresGood app, but needs updating to include the latest iOS features; dark mode, split screen support, and a widget..Version: 3.9.2

Is this news???There is mo news on this app. garbage. gossip..Version: 5.5.3

Stolen minutes of my life...The news is good, only if you don’t care about editing. Sometimes the stories could use a little more substance and the writing could actually be done by journalists instead of what seems like elementary students. The ads are the worst though. The Newzit ads that they sold out to, are trashy and you see them in every article. Images pop up that I wouldn’t want my kids to see. It’s clear that the DM has no standards. Their regular ads are inconvenient and noisy as well. You might be really into a touching news story, and while you scroll through the pictures some loud video selling some irrelevant product pop up. And when you try to hit the “x” to close it, it’s only a fake one, so it takes you to the website instead. So much for the story you were reading. At this point you just want to throw your phone against the wall out of frustration. Why do I use the app? It used to be good. Everyday I hold on to the dream that the DM will return to their ideals and create journalism that changes us as a society for the better. Not just click-bate stories that are inconclusive and speculative at best..Version: 3.9.1

Fake newsI shared a story from your site about trans people wanting the song I’m a natural born woman banned from TikTok and Sony and pasted it to Facebook. Facebook slap me with a warning telling me if I do it again my posts will be knocked down the list. I have lost complete faith in your online news. Granted, I did make a mistake myself last year and I was wrong but at first I admit to my mistakes and on up to them. Daily mail is hypocritical jumps ahead of stories, posting things that aren’t true or happened to get the lead just to get more readers. Get your facts straight before posting them. You know what I know it. And so to many other readers. I have trashed the site, but will never share anything from your website again. Not that you care. But your conduct is unbecoming for a news organization. I understand Mistakes do happen at the hop in many instances where hypocrisy and you walk hand in hand, and you know it..Version: 5.1

Too many addsAll these pop up adds make it so difficult to scroll through . Not enjoyable reading.Version: 4.0.2

Therose'Kevin Hart talks greatest accomplishment since his terrifying car accident on Ellen: I'm about 65% to 75% back to my physical self.' So Kevin Hart had a terrifying car accident on Ellen? Was Ellen hurt also? Could someone please give these people some help with grammar? It's an assault on the eyes, and it seems to be an epidemic. What is wrong with the education system, that these cringeworthy mistakes are made by supposedly well educated people? For goodness sake....Version: 3.9

Patriotic publishers are becoming a rare breed and this ain’t one of themPatriotic Conservatives are becoming as rare as the white rhino. This so called right leaning publication is just as bad as the rest of the shadow banning, Marxist following, left leaning media, but this is under the veneer of being supporters of the British people. Anyone daring to air their patriotic views in this publications comments sections will soon be shadow banned and their comments will disappear or in my case, not even shown. Just because my views are patriotic to my nation. People like me are being pushed further and further away from what is mainstream publications. I’m not radical, extreme and my opinions are not abusive, but this publication wants to silence people like me..Version: 4.6.1

FrustratingWe have had this app for some years now and maintain using it because we quite like the content. However, the app continually freezes or jumps about to the extent where we have to delete it from the iPad and reinstall. This seems to solve the problem in the short term but inevitably the problem reoccurs after a perhaps a week or so. We regularly update the iPad version and do not have the same issue with any of the other apps so please Mail on Line, get your act together and solve this problem as I can see from other reviews we are not the only ones to be suffering with this issue..Version: 4.1

App not available???I’ve used this app for years and now suddenly it’s not available in my region (NZ) what’s going on?.Version: 4.0.1

Used to be the best! Keeps freezing up!!PLEASE FIX THIS APP!!! It is mind blowing that the DM would allow for this terrible functioning of an app to be available with as many readers as they have. I can’t go 15 secs into an article without it totally freezing up. I then have to shut it down completely & then reopen. Most of the time it freezes while scrolling through the articles after that. This has been going on for MONTHS!!!! I have not seen a single update for this app. I keep hoping an update pops up when I go to the App Store but alas, I’m disappointed every time. As an American, I love the DM because they report on things that are not reported on in the US. I just wish they would get their crap together & FIX THE APP!!!!! Surely it wouldn’t take much to get this issue resolved. They’re upsetting a great number of their readers with this!!!.Version: 3.8.8

DM: You Just Lost a Daily Reader. I’m Deleting this App.I love DM, and I’ve commented on many articles throughout the years. Yet, today is the 2nd time, in about a month, I have been banned (for life) from commenting with no explanation given, whatsoever. I can be opinionated, but I do not curse, or personally insult others. I see many commenters get away with offenses like these all the time, btw. I’m done. This is a stupid move on their part, as they really were my favorite online paper. I checked this app regularly, everyday. NO MORE. I’m deleting it. I encourage anyone else who is against the recent rise of censorship, in Western nations, to do the same. The moderators must not like my politics. That’s been getting people banned from various platforms. I’m not one-sided. In fact, I’m very open-minded, but I am Libertarian. This is still too far right (I guess)? #StopTheBias.Version: 3.7.5

Not as up-to-date as the websiteSimple, easy to use & you can organise the topic sections to your preference. It has easier access to an article’s Comments section than the website BUT, for some reason, it doesn’t keep as up-to-date. The same stories (usually some dumb celebrity rubbish) tend to be the same headline all day while the website has moved on. One glaring example is it didn’t have the World Cup final result & writeup until the day after. Is there a ‘refresh’ option on the app I should know about? This lag doesn’t make sense..Version: 5.0

App unavailableThe app is unavailable in New Zealand with no information about how long for. This has been the case for over a week now and all tech support could say was try the website. The is the message you get in the app when you open it- genius work tech support! Duoh! The website is much lessUser friendly even when using the mobile version..Version: 4.0.1

Fear-mongering ragIf you’re looking for a newspaper written by a gaggle of illiterate interns then this is the one for you! Littered with spelling mistakes and grammatical errors which only enhance the appeal of articles scaring women away from smear tests/LLETZ, attempting to incite panic over sharks being in OUR waters (not even British sharks, shock, horror!), and the daily copied content from Mumsnet/Buzzfeed. Oh and the super informative pop up videos every 2 seconds, they’re not at all distracting when you do eventually manage to wade through all the codswallop and find something you want to read. Don’t forget, you can also find out where Daniela Westbrook is on holiday currently, which man Katie Price is with this week, and the stalking of people who may have a remote “celebrity” connection..Version: 3.6

Freezes on new comments formatI have reached the end with this app at least on my iPad. Not sure if it is the upgrade of the comments format but every 2 or 3 sessions it freezes and the only way of getting back to the story page is to delete the app. Have gone back to Readly.Version: 5.2

OMG WORST FOR SPAM ADS OUT THERE!Here’s your workaround... download any of the free adblocker apps out there and just use your browser to browse this site. It’s a revelation! This app is virtually unusable. I’m not opposed to a few ads peppered in here and there for using a free app BUT THIS ONE IS FREAKING INSANE! Every second picture? And a 30 second stupid video ad for literally every video on the entire site! I am not exaggerating. I’m uninstalling this app now, I just wanted to provide this handy psa to anyone that needs it. Because DM has gotten so greedy and ridiculous, they deserve it..Version: 4.0.1

NastyThey are a nasty tabloid who moderate all of your comments. They don’t allow you to delete your account either and neither does the app version. Don’t sign up with this comment moderating (word police), conquer and dividing sanctimonious paper!.Version: 3.7.4

BACKWARDSThe most backwards app I’ve EVER encountered. If you accidentally like/dislike a comment, you can’t unlike/like it, which is especially awful if you’ve accidentally disliked a sensitive one whilst scrolling, which is easily done if you’re right-handed. You can’t edit/delete comments either. The amount of comments that they don’t allow to be posted is a joke - No reason for it whatsoever. You’ll often like/dislike a comment and your arrow-contribution will just disappear. Perhaps the most frustrating thing is replying to a comment only to find it showing as a reply to one of your own comments. Overall a seriously backwards app with consistently ignored issues and really annoying ads in the photo section of stories. And please allow us the use of emojis..Version: 4.5

Annoying adsWhy are you allowing ads to interrupt our reading.Version: 4.1.1

The keyboard not disappearing after typing commentsI am a mobile developer and the keyboard done button not handled correctly . The done button not getting dismissed after typing comments and the post button is not visible because of that. Most of the time I am unable to post anything after typing. The keyboard is only getting dismissed after changing the focus by touching outside the edit box which I finally figured out. It is terrible and annoying and not even basic testing is performed on this section.Version: 5.7.1

MehSo the popups are annoying FOR SURE but the worst part of this app is: since the latest update, half the article is gone. There’s a paragraph, maybe two and then the 3 or any subsequent paragraphs are cut off. Even when one pulls down, the article doesn’t refresh to make it legible. Quite disappointing.Version: 5.5.1

Not Working! What is happening with your app? It won’t open up any articles..Version: 5.4

Constant change!!!!!! So annoying! Can never read through as every few minutes articles change order and cause a pause in trying to read. That is why I will not pay. Other than that interesting news..Version: 5.7.2

Used to be greatI used to love this app, I opened it first thing in the morning and again in the evening when it would update. What is going on with these pop up videos though? They make it impossible to read an article as three will pop up at a time and when you exit out they just pop up again. I mean you CANNOT read anything in here anymore the app seriously doesn’t work. It is so frustrating. They pop up whether you watch the whole thing or click out immediately. It’s become completely unusable. Before all that happened though I loved daily mail. The grammar and actual content is pretty bad, but they break stories before anyone else and have pictures most others can’t seem to get. I barely read the articles, because they’ll post the same one literally verbatim everyday. However if you just skim through the title and bullet points and a few pictures you’ll get the jist of what’s going on. If they could fix whatever is going on with their ads I would give a better rating but this bug is ridiculous..Version: 3.6

World news does not updateKeeps displaying old news for weeks.Version: 3.8.8

Constantly freezingIf you go to read the comments the app freezes and you can’t get back to the article so constantly having to close app. Can’t add comments either.Version: 5.4

Not workingI'm in nz and app has stopped working, says not available in your region but how come I can get it fine on my Samsung cell.Version: 4.0.1

Poor continuityFor the past few months this app has become slower and frequently sticks which means you cannot continue reading until the iPad or iPhone is rebooted and the paper loads afresh. This seems to becoming worse and I wonder of it is something to do with the increasing number of videos that are being loaded onto the app. I have subscribed to the Mail+ in the hope that this would improve things, it has not. I am also fed up with having to refresh regularly and then find that stories have moved and I have difficulty in finding the ones that I wanted to read. If the app does not improve soon I will probably delete it permanently. It is too frustrating to continue as it is..Version: 5.7.1

So slowThe app is slower than ever. Often a couple of seconds for a story to open if at all. I often have to go back and click article again otherwise I get stuck with a white screen. The slowness started after they changed the comment system. The fort at is different in AU home to say that in Female in how you comment. Too slow. Fix it.Version: 5.1.2

Another app that has become advert hungry...I understand the need for adverts however the app is now unusable. It is such an unpleasant experience that multiple times adverts appears when scrolling through a single set of photos on a news article. I check the news multiple times a day and can’t cope anymore. Bye Mail Online!.Version: 4.0.2

Take note, editorsVariety of stories is interesting and entertaining. Facts are not always prioritized as highly as they should be. Writers appear to have limited knowledge of content , for example, describing an actor with a recent affiliation rather than what he has been known for. Headlines are way too inflammatory. Best news app for photos and details surrounding a news worthy event. Worst thing is adding content onto an existing story and not updating prior content. For example, the story was updated to say someone has died, but lower paragraphs still say the person is in critical condition in the hospital..Version: 3.5.1

UselessUsed the app on my iPad for several years but over the last 18 months it has become Less and less useable. The current version will keep going back to the first section requiring me to constantly search for the point I had reached, it constantly freezes, will become very sluggish on my 12 month old M2 iPad Pro, uses significant battery and now I am expected to pay for it! Look, I don’t even have an issue paying provided there is a significant reduction in advertising but for goodness sake deliver a platform that can be used. I have unsubscribed from the paid version as I haven’t been able to finish reading it for the last couple of weeks due to the problems experienced..Version: 5.7.1

Terrible writing and reportingI used to like reading the mail app. A spare moment at work or at home and I’d open it up and scroll through. The spelling has got worse and worse, the sensationalism regarding everything is so annoying now. Using Fahrenheit for hot weather and Celsius for cold in the same artical to make the shift in temperature seem extreme. The spoilers they put up without warning. The wrong facts about everything from a make of car which clearly has a picture to identify but a reporter who can’t work it out so guesses another make. But most of all it’s the hard swing to the left since the new editor took charge. I have deleted this app now and really don’t miss it. I am trying the daily express app. Couple of the same problems with spelling and caps for things they don’t need, but still better so far. Daily Mail, sack this editor and return to what you were!!.Version: 3.7.4

Trump StoryShame on you on writing such s blatant bunch of lies about the Trumps in the middle of the chaos on the 6th! What a blatant bunch of lies! Now I know to never listen to a word you say. I dream of a world where journalists tell the truth. God Bless President and Melania Trump the best President the States ever had!.Version: 4.0.4

Lags and heats up phone!Beware! Turns phone into a hand warmer! Devs need to fix this asap!.Version: 4.6.1

Republican / Conservative all the wayIf you want an unbiased report on news, do not read DM.Version: 5.1.3

The pop up adds lock you out of the appWhen you looks at a picture or Video usually a 30 second pop up ad comes up and locks me right out of the app. I have to delete and re-download the app to get back to the articles!.Version: 5.2.1

Fix the appEvery time I read anything on this app, it keeps scrolling back to the very first article at the top. It’s really frustrating and I don’t have that with any other other news app that I read. Maybe you want to follow another platform and copy what they’re doing?? or I think this is intentional so we have to keep reviewing the ads maybe?? Technologies come so far I can’t imagine why this keeps happening and it hasn’t been fixes..Version: 5.4.3

Stop trying to spam us with download app and web siteI want to read the news. I love the fact that they are always first to inform us. However, using the app... it keeps making us open links to download apps and it’s non stop. It’s spam at this rate and it’s annoying. It’s just to bad as I enjoy daily mail..Version: 3.7.4

Daily Mail not availableIf Daily Mail are reading their feedback 24/7, then why has the app been unavailable in my region (NZ) for over a week now. I have sent many emails and have received zero replies. This app should be removed from the App Store if it is unavailable..Version: 4.0.1

Horrible AppI enjoy reading DM, but the app constantly closes itself or interrupts my reading by kicking me over to my App Store or some other ad. Over and over and over and over. Extremely irritating..Version: 3.7.4

Too many adverts almost unwatchableToo many adverts.Version: 4.9

Ads make it impossible to read any article. This is the only news app I have that produces this many trashy articles that last for minutes to the point where I am actually frustrated. I am unable to finish one article. Which is now forcing me to delete this app. I was actually excited to have it when I downloaded it only to find out it was going to be completely- and I mean completely over spammed with ads. I even paused this review to delete it, it’s that unusable. Unfortunate but no one has time for that in today’s world where we must stay informed on what is going on in this world. To give a recent example, the mass school shooting in Texas. Horrible, sickening, and truly heartbreaking, however it is news. News should be accessible to all. Now do you see how silly these ads are?.Version: 4.6.1

Waste of timeThe spam of ads is ridiculous. Never ending..Version: 5.5

App not working in NZIt’s been days and App still not working. People on Mail fb page all complaining. If you email Mail on Line they say it’s not working. Worst app worst customer service..Version: 4.0.1

FrustratingI am a great fan. However the new comments sites are awful. They look awful, I like to see where the comments come from eg what country. They constantly freeze and I have leave and come back again. I like the old comments that are still being used for anything that is not entertainment..Version: 5.1.1

Don’t bother posting commentsIt sure seems that unless you’re on the woke left don’t even bother posting comments because DM will not post them. I keep all my comments respectful, without insulting anyone or offensive but my opinions are sometimes against this woke left movement and they rarely ever get posted..Version: 4.1.5

Full of pop up adsWill pop up ads or just start playing audio randomly. Opens up app store in its own. Real piece a crap here..Version: 3.7.4

Unsurprisingly averageSlow, crashes occasionally. Biggest problem is when the articles are being updated as it refreshes the screen while you are scrolling through the items causing you to lose your place. Advertising is insidious and distracting. I know it’s by design that add often pop under you fingers as you scroll forcing you to another site. Sometimes it’s impossible to read the article due to distracting ads. Would be nice to have a category for just news and not celebrity news. At the moment there seems to be no distinction regardless of which you pick it’s just jumbled up in a mess. Spell checking the articles may also prove useful..Version: 5.7.2

Too many pop up adsI’m deleting this app. Can’t read the news with out being interrupted several time with pop up useless videos!! Let me know when you fix the problem!! CNN here I come !!.Version: 4.0.1

All of a sudden “not available in your region”I have been using this app in New Zealand for years. Boom - now unavailable. Don’t bother sending an email about iPhone problems. The reply is “sorry but the app is unavailable in your region.” If I could give negative stars I would. I read the Daily Mail before I left the UK and used to buy the weekly NZ edition when it was still going so now they have lost a reader of 40 odd years..Version: 4.0.1

Pop up videosI downloaded this app, just to leave this review. I’ve been going to the daily mail website FOR YEARS, and I’ve never had this problem. (My husband has the app, and he’s having the same problem). About 2 weeks to a month ago, videos started popping up, and not allowing me to close them out. I cannot even close out the tab, before another video pops up. Over, and over, until I turn my phone off and then back on, then I can quickly close out the tab. This is even with ALL types of pop up blockers, I have the auto-play shut off for videos. You’ve completely lost a viewer due to this predatory behavior you’ve chosen. YOU ARE DOING THIS. I’m done with you! Your stupid videos only make me ANGRY, I have never watched even one, much less looked into whatever it is you are shoving in my face, and now you’ve lost me forever. I guarantee I’m not the only one!! Just in my home alone, BYE!.Version: 5.6.3

Advertisements make the app unusableEvery time I open an article to read, safari auto launches to some random spam or advertisement I have no interest in. It has become impossible to read an article. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app but your advertisements make the app unusable .....Version: 3.7.4

ARGH THE ADS!!!!Didn’t mind the odd ad, but now they are so constant I can barley read a paragraph before another ad takes over. When I do finally close the ad, it has taken me back to the beginning. I have to try and remember where my article was and then scroll back to where I was originally. Try doing this before another ad pops up. Sooooo frustrating, I’ve given up! I’ll try another news app. 😞.Version: 3.6

Troll’s paradiseIf you are someone who likes to take constant online bullying and name calling from trolls looking for no other excuse to pick online fights with you for doing nothing more than comment on anything at all, no matter what it is, no matter how trivial the news story is, and no matter what you say, how you say it, and how middle of the road your comment may be, then this is the app for you. There’s plenty nasty people just waiting for your pleasant middle of the road factual comments so they can vent years worth of pent up aggression directed right at you. Do you think the people at the Mail are bothered? No, not at all, in fact they let it happen. So if you yourself are a troll, and are looking for a new app to target some fresh online faces, then is definitely up your street. After years of having this app, I am deleting it for good, as the saying goes, be kind, so I’m being kind to myself and removing myself from this hurt filled abuse platform..Version: 4.1.3

DM writers need remedial journalism courses.DM strongest point is the wide diversity of topics and countries it attempts to cover. It’s weakest point is that the articles and stories lack specific cites to authoritative sources. In many instances, vague and generalized sources are used for information within the stories. Without specificity, the stories are little more than propaganda or whack jobs. The general thrust of the stories indicate DM has its own agenda independent of the stories themselves. This makes DM little better than a supermarket tabloid. Because of this, I don’t trust DM for truthful and balanced reporting. The writing is weak. Misspellings frequently occur. Incomplete sentences and sentence fragments are common. Further, subject-verb agreement mistakes are also common. Misuse of words such as affect and effect occur regularly. Stories don’t flow in a logical sequence but instead tend toward being “choppy.” In sum, the artwork is good and the writing is bad. Clearly, you have good paparazzis working for you. However, you need to fire your current writers and find new ones..Version: 3.7

Farewell old friend.... Recent changes to the experience in the app have me saying “Bon voyage!”Let me start with how much I loved this app. I used it every day, checked it morning noon and night for updates. However, I recent noticed how poor quality the app really is. You have to press the ‘X’ several times when trying to close an ad, and I mean SEVERAL. The ads they make you watch before seeing a video won’t load, which in turn means your video doesn’t load. THE WORST PART OF THIS APP is the most recent changes where scrolling through stories they force video ad to open up, taking over your entire screen. You close the video, barely scroll any and POOF it opens again... yeah not putting up with that. Not worth it. Hopefully for the sake of other users they will fix these issues, otherwise they will lose more viewers, such as myself..Version: 3.9.2

Freeze me outHard to read as app constantly freezes or is overwhelmed by unwanted adverts..Version: 5.1.3

Barely literateThe writers at this are semi-literate, the commenting section is impossible- this feels like an app in development, it’s pretty bad. Most things just throw error comments, even though I’ve had an account for this over a year, I’ve still never been able to make a single comment. It throws error messages constantly, whether trying to make changes to my account or even post a comment- error, error, and more error messages. I’ve also run across about a gazillion errors in the writing- their reporters & photographers cannot seem to get their act together with captions for pics constantly mismatched. All in all, this needs a ton of work to fix it. I do reas ig but laugh at how awful common spelling errors and grammar screwups surface. It’s actually pretty bad..Version: 4.9

You guys race bait… Terrible!!!!You seem to promote a significant number of articles promoting white anger. From Critical Race Theory to articles saying whites should be eliminated to articles promoting a democratic effort to encourage immigration votes to sway elections to articles about confederate monuments…. This list of articles is as long as the space available on the web app to show any articles. I know that chaos sells, but to promote chaos is borderline criminal. There are far more instances of love and harmony in the world than the ratio of poor race-baiting reporting that you guys promote. I would have to assume the editors of this site have some deep seated insecurities about themselves to continue to clear these articles. Or, God forbid, they are evil and want to see people die. No one can deny the cruel and murderous history of America, but there is no plot being planned to eliminate white people. There are however efforts to live in a more just society, valuing each and every life with the same love and concern. I would ask that you stop race-baiting, and start highlighting more love and paying more attention to articles highlighting those who are fighting against a more just and loving society/county. God bless the USA..Version: 4.1.5

Forced to choose between a terrible format or a website so unstable it crashes every two minutes. The good thing about the Daily Mails normal homepage is that it looks and reads like a newspaper, with different subjects mixed in together. The app is articles bunched together in an annoying way like an archive or something. The reader comments and the fact that they allow comments on a wide range of subjects was the best bit about Daily Mail, but I’ve noticed lately that it’s become much more PC, making it annoyingly like all the other news media out there. The webpage allows you to see your profile and your previous comments, and gathered all your comments together so you can see if people agree or disagree with you. That is completely lacking on the app. On the app, if you want to see how a comment was received you have to scroll through sometimes literally thousands of other comments to find yours.... in short, Daily Mail is a newspaper. Why not make the app look and read like a newspaper? Free hint..Version: 3.8.8

Not impressedSince the updates and the introduction of mail+ to the headings and breaking news, I’ve found that the app starts glitching a few stories in and then crashes, sometimes it takes my phone a few minutes before it can access anything so this needs looking at. Plus, when I go to comment on a story and I get a notification that someone has replied and click on it, surely it should take you to the actual comment and not the whole list of them so you scroll through and give up. That is of course that your comment will actually appear which most of the time it doesn’t, even after clearing the cache. Not the best app but it kills a few minutes while on your break..Version: 5.7.1

Glitch constantly sends me back to topBeen a fan of daily mail for years but for the past few months, I am unable to scroll down through articles without the app refreshing itself and sending me back to top EVERY SINGLE TIME. No new articles posted, just takes me back to top for no reason. Can never press “more…” button without this happening. Already deleted app 3-5 times and update it but to no avail. Hoping an update will one day soon fix this scrolling issue ): Daily mail in the News app has also suddenly changed for the worse with posting constant picture-less sport score updates and nothing news related. Can’t seem to stop these type of articles from popping up and clogging my news feed..Version: 5.5

Daily Markle.Meghan Markles mouth piece. There’s no real news here, just paid for puff pieces and manifestations of the Markle woman. Your comments don’t go through so even the reader comments are skewed in her favour. This ‘paper’ has become a complete joke. The same thing happened during the pandemic. The head of the paper was filmed telling staff to make lockdown protestors appear crazy and to print propaganda in line with his views. Delete the app and do NOT click on any such articles. That is how they make their money. Vote with your clicks. If you want non biased news, this is the LAST place you’ll get it..Version: 5.4.1

Causes crashes and force opens app sitesApp will close spontaneously. It will also force safari or the App Store app to open flipping through a dozen web addresses before stopping. Sometimes it will open more than one safari window in a split second. Garbage..Version: 3.7.4

Text won’t loadNever had any major issues until recently. I’ve reloaded the app several times, giving up. Loads articles and pictures but not text so not exactly helpful for reading….Version: 5.4

Emblazoned with Kardashian articles multiple times a day...they are yesterday’s newsThey are yesterday’s news.Version: 3.7.5

RubbishPossibly the worst app I have ever used. Keeps crashing. Gets fixed on one story then crashes. It’s all hateful garbage anyway..Version: 4.9

Recent updates make for clunky use.Despite keeping this app up to date on my iPad, developers have not addressed the problem of not being able to “keep place” when reading any of the columns. You may be half way down the news column and when you use the back button, it immediately takes you back to the top section of the column. It’s very annoying and means you again have to scroll through the news items you have already to restore your “place”. This has been like this since an update in November. I already left feedback to bring this to developers’ attention. This has been ignored and advice given was to disconnect from the internet so I could retain my reading place. Some instructions in the software have been omitted spoiling the reading experience on this app..Version: 5.6.1

No accessFor days i havent been able to read it, it says the app is unavailable in your region....... really enjoyed it too.Version: 4.0.1

Miserable pop-up interferenceIt is so unbelievably frustrating that thus app allows constant harassment of pop-up for their viewers. It started that they would pop up and you could immediately close them. Then you had to wait 5 seconds to be allowed to close. Just now it was 25 seconds and they are popping up every 30 seconds or so. It’s just miserable when you are trying to read an article and it is constantly being broken up. The thing I find incredible is that any of these marketing “professionals” think you will actually purchase these stupid games! I would never even consider it, no matter how appealing they may be, because of the way they are being shoved down our throats. Idiots! It’s too bad because the content is timely and excellent..Version: 4.3

Unwanted interruptionsGenerally very happy with the app, but lately I get interrupted when reading articles by adverts/other videos which are impossible to get rid of until they have been place a few times (whether you want to watch it or not). Is this from the Daily Mail or has my iPad been corrupted? If ,it is from the Mail, can you please ensure that your readers can turn this feature off. Furthermore it is almost becoming impossible to read the mail due to adverts and more recently they now wants us to pay unless you are happy to pay for something we have had free for years. Perhaps now is the time to starting to read a new paper..Version: 5.7.1

App reloads all the timeThis app keeps reloading to the first page and MailOnline has done nothing to fix this problem. I’ve emailed them about it and they say they’re aware of it and it only happens on iPhones. Allegedly they are working on it but the app has had this problem for almost a year.Version: 3.5.2

Ridiculous pop upsI read the Daily Mail for entertaining myself. They do get stories on everything quickly, which is great. That said, the articles are always poorly written. Paraphrased multiple times. It’s like reading the same thing 6 or 7 times followed by dame info in the blue box. I guess the writers went to a school of repeats. Then you have the names and spelling incorrect throughout the articles. My job is to spot as many problems per article. That’s the fun part! The annoying pop ups every few seconds has left me to stop reading. Why? Because you can’t read a single article. Fix it quickly please. There is no fix on this end on a mobile device..Version: 3.6

Daily FAIL can’t handle the TRUTHFinally decided to delete the DM. Getting a message that my comment was removed because of the "number of complaints" is an absolute lie. Didn't insult or use abusive language. All I did is call out the Daily Fail on the fact that they push the narrative into hating Meghan for a massive amount of comments—7k on this particular article. I have read so many hateful and disgusting comments, yet mine gets removed?! I also stated that Diana and Kate have worn expensive outfits from designers and price tags were never pointed out. Yet it's done to Meghan constantly! That's why I feel that this rag pushes the hate towards her. And they also pick and choose what comments they post. GOODBYE!!.Version: 3.7.4
