Daily Mail: Breaking News for Positive User Reviews

This app overheats my phoneAlso, I am unable to comment anymore / has the Daily Mail blocked me? I haven’t said anything terrible!.Version: 3.9.1

Don’t waste your batteryTerribly cumbersome app littered with pop ups that are designed to get around ad block soft ware. The content is garbage with glaring spelling and grammatical errors even after it’s been ripped off from proper news sites..Version: 3.9.1

It’s good but....I’ve been ready MailOnline fir about 10 years. Generally I like it and much of the enjoyment is ready other points of view by other commentators. Over the past year or two however and in particular with their YS Correspondents I have noticed a definite anti Trump, anti conservative slant in some of the articles. Worse still the associated comments seems to have been skewed in favour of the article and this is very noticeable. It happens with a certain core of journalists not all of them, this is how you can detect it if you have been using the app fir a while. Overall a good app but be aware if this as it can spoil it..Version: 3.8.4

Stories jumpingI do love this app and use it every day. However it is incredibly frustrating when you’re scrolling down reading the stories and all of a sudden they jump and reorder, and you’re seeing stories you’ve already read and some you haven’t have jumped to the top. I want it to update but not while I’m in the middle of reading it! And there is a problem with the comments in the same way, as you’re scrolling through all of a sudden they jump and reorder. Really buggy and annoying..Version: 3.8.4

Journalism made funny!I enjoy the Daily Mail every day, and i have been a journalist for 42 years. The DM’s strengths are also it’s weaknesses, and these failings are often highly amusing. No one else in the world dares pen a 30 word headline. And if it comes with 3 spelling mistakes and an abysmal lack of understanding of the subject matter, all the better. Good grammar, correct syntax, accurate apostrophes, lack of repetition, and brevity are not expected, and what would they add anyway? The DM is truly a digital rag for the people, and the people love it!.Version: 3.5.3

A good, informative readI enjoy that there are always a diverse range of news articles from across the globe..Version: 5.7.4

Pleasantly SurprisedSo, I had never even seen the daily mail prior to downloading the app. I downloaded all the news apps I could find. I wanted to see what had interesting content as well as informative. Daily mail is now my go to news site because they have the political news mixed with the salacious news stories you cannot find anywhere else. All the stories are highly, highly detailed and comprehensive often with videos and always with probably more pictures than you need, although I appreciate them as they help to put you inside the story. This might be my second online review. I wish I didn’t like the daily mail and it was the Wall Street journal I liked better so I sound more sophisticated, but not so... anyway. Just go to the website, check out both the UK and Us sections... oh and us citizens, vote in Nov (regardless of your political leaning go vote)..Version: 3.7.3

Forever The Best News App!!!I’ve been a DM app reader for 10 years now! Tons and tons of stories, photos, and videos. You could sit for hours reading the news every day on this app. And the comments section is incredible. I like that you never know what to expect there and seems to be an even mix of political views among the users. This paper reports on many political stories that USA networks censor. At the same time, they don’t let either side off easy! I love the sections of US news, world news, Hollywood, womens interest, etc. This app will keep you constantly informed and entertained!.Version: 4.6.1

AddictingI like the format where I can look at pics and read everything I need to know right under it. Also, doesnt seem to be too politically motivated or full of fake news. They do jump on the Trump bashing trupé tho. You will see all the crazy shti that happens everyday though. Promise you that. Tragedy after tragedy, but they just report it. People, please start taking care of and listening to your kids. All kids. And, think about what all of this unrest, bickering, and violence does to a young brain..Version: 3.5.1

Ok for Football but otherwise it’s a fascist ragI’m a football fan so it’s great for the EPL and CL. If you want actual balanced news about politics and public affairs though look elsewhere!.Version: 3.8.1

Good fun enjoyable read!I love the mail online, really informative articles, and a good fun read, the only online news app that I have ever enjoyed!!! The only thing is I don’t feel “well informed “ by just sticking to the Mail online, I would love to read more articles favouring the other side to the story, even if I don’t agree with them, I would like to read more gritty articles that offer a different way of thinking about what is happening in the world today. For example I was told the other day that COVID has left suffers with Type 1 diabetes, this is terrible but does this now mean more funding and research will be allocated to finding a better way to manage it ??? Thank you for reading my review, I will go back to reading about the colour of Kim’s Bikini now!!!! 🤣.Version: 4.1.1

Can’t open app from NZI have always used this app from N Z and now the app is telling me that it is not supported in my region??? Can’t open the app !!.Version: 4.0.1

Good readingHere in New Zealand never have any problems with the app I read it everyday after I have read the local papers.Version: 3.7.5

Good newsEnjoy reading about real news issues on Mail app. It is a little heavy on non-substantive issues like how “stars” are dressed in photos we can see. Really important issues - like Maui fire victims not how Taylor Swift dressed for a rehearsal dinner and wedding. Filling lines with words describing real issues not Meghan and or Brittany’s pathetic lifestyle choices. We have huge life altering events happening multiple times a day for hundreds if not thousands of real people. Ask them what is happening. They will tell you..Version: 5.4.1

It’s good…. BUT….I’ve used the app for a long time and overall I like it. BUT…. For a long time, the rendering of the images in the text stream covers at least one line of the paragraph immediately before the image, preventing the reader from properly completing the story. It sometimes feels as if more than one single line of text is obscured so perhaps the problem is bigger than if appears. Also, lately the article simply stops and a bundle of ad images appear at the end of the text, or at least I assume it’s the end. It was much better when there was a proper, defined “the end” to the text. I am a subscriber, although I don’t really like the subscription app as much, it would be great to be able to log in and then choose to reduce or remove the advertising impact. These things don’t stop me using the app, but they spoil what is otherwise a good tool..Version: 5.4.3

NewzitMailOnline has been ‘infected’ by Newzit. Every article in every heading is affected with totally inappropriate puerile headlines. It appears midway between every feature causing nothing but frustration. It is impossible to avoid. The latest imposition makes it impossible to avoid accepting notifications. No other choice but to accept. Seems like MailOnLine has been taken over and adopted procedures straight out of the Stasi handbook. Until recently I really enjoyed reading the MailOnLine. Not any longer. I’m out..Version: 3.9.2

Miss LyonsI love Mail Online in keeps me up to date with most of the news that I am interested in. Please try and print the open letter to Prince William that was printed in Daily Mail it needs as much exposure as possible. I’m sure you will see why..Version: 4.1.1

My favourite app but please stop crashingThis is the second time I have had to install it as app just crashes. Remove the ads to they come on sometimes so easily and you can’t turn the sound off. So annoying..Version: 3.6

OK, Still Needs ImprovementWe all know and love the Daily Mail so this review is purely based on the app’s performance. This is an adequate app, but it is starting to feel dated and in need of a facelift and a few streamlines. For one, any app in 2021 should be able to switch from dark to light mode based on the phone’s system, having to do it manually is such a pain, especially when the bright white comes and nearly burns your eyes out in a dark room at night. Also, the whole Topics and Channels system is really clunky. It would be so much more pleasant and quick to just have a scrolling feed, where articles and pictures from each followed channel/topic come up one after the other, instead of having to navigate to a dedicated channel for each subject. I want to effortlessly see all the news I want to see as soon as I open the app, not have to hunt for it. Lastly, some of the topics and channels are clearly outdated, such as events from 2018 and celebrities who have since remarried and have a new name etc., please fix all the above and it will be a perfect news app..Version: 4.1.2

Issues with ads and crashingTrying to read an article it diverts me to the App Store 3-4 times in one article!!! It is most annoying and they are mostly gambling apps which are being promoted. Crashing is a problem as well which is frustrating. Fix these issues please..Version: 3.7

AdsThe ads are so irritating, some times appear every few minutes. Otherwise good.Version: 4.1.1

Adverts ruin this AppGreat and regularly updated news! I would have given this App 5* if it had not been for the recent adverts! I fully agree with the other reviewers that I understand advertising is a necessary thing. However, a recent Easter advert by a chocolate company I will not name (out of kindness) is absolutely WRONG! Just pops out of nowhere and lingers on the screen. Well, I can tell you I most certainly won’t be buying those Easter eggs! And the new 30 second adverts! No way am I sitting through those. You are actually losing the amount of time I bother with this App because of these rude, forceful adverts..Version: 3.5.1

G.A.PMuch prefer Mail Online to the biased NZ papers.Version: 4.1.2

Still crashes and freezes. It still freezes or crashes in iOS. Now the category buttons are shaded out. It’s almost unusable. I’ve had to restart my tablet after the latest crash. It’s better than the Safari version when it wants to work, but that isn’t often..Version: 4.1.5

Great readingLove to catch up on all the UK news. Well reported and great web site..Version: 4.1.1

ReviewAlthough the news is generally up to date the headlines are very misleading. The Mail appears to take perverse satisfaction from their continual Police bashing, the DM is quick to highlight the benefits milked by a certain section of immigrants but full of mock outrage when people react to perceived unjustness. Also, the continual and numerous articles on relatively minor incidents such as most recently Ant ( or Dec’s ) alcohol related minor road traffic crash, Tracey Cunningham and the like. However, it is accessible and if one ignores these articles quite enjoyable. As a footnote - the pop up Ads are very annoying and are simply deleted at the first opportunity..Version: 3.5.1

CrashSince the last update, the app constantly crashes after a few minutes of reading..Version: 3.7

Northern AustraliaShould only be one person allowed to have one alias, not 10 like Dusty- springster ,lnp flogs, call 000 ect. A lot of people are starting to get sick of it..Version: 5.6.3

Stories freezePlease fix the issue on certain articles, it freezes on that page and I have to download the app again on my iPad, otherwise a good site..Version: 5.1

Get More News! The U.S. version of the Daily Mail online often provides both American and international news that I don’t see elsewhere. In addition, stories are updated quickly and it’s often the best source for breaking news details. The comments are my favorite! They frequently number in the thousands on popular articles and reveal a wide array of strong opinions. One word of caution: If you are a Grammar Queen or King, the DM can be exasperating! They have actually improved, but some articles are still rife with errors. Try the DM for a week or two. I think you’ll enjoy it!.Version: 4.1.1

Covers everythingI enjoy reading all the gossip, better than a magazine. Instant. Best Thing....... It's free! But all of a sudden I can’t get it, the website is a waste of time full of adds, wont read it again.Version: 4.0.1

CommentsEnjoy the app read it all the time. I find your new stories are very timely, interesting, and you cover a lot of different topics and definitely significantly better than the useless Apple app, which is extremely liberal, you guys are as well but not nearly as one-sided and you do cover all the stories for the most part. It’s a news app we’ve learned that there’s nothing you can do about reporters who almost always lean left. My wife just started using it as well. Just be fair, it is all we ask!!.Version: 4.1.1

GlitchesWhy does your app keep randomly returning to the top of the page/headline story. So annoying to have it happen constantly.Version: 4.1.1

Great appThe app is great when it’s working, I love it! I have used this app for many years and will continue to use it.Version: 4.9

Good spread of news, but too much fluffI’m viewing from NZ, and being a football fan, particularly enjoy the sports section. UK news is my second favourite section, as I’m originally from England. I’m guilty of being led into scandalous stories by juicy headlines, often with disappointing results, and I’m not a fan of the Z-grade reality “star” stories (obviously staged photos, pathetic story lines) but they obviously have an audience or they wouldn’t be there. All-in-all an easily navigable, broad-interest news (and fluff) site..Version: 3.5.1

My #1 Go TO AppWant to be the smartest person in the room? Want to appear like you are worldly and know what is going on in the world & nation? Download this app now!! You won’t regret it. This is by far my favorite app! I check it at least a few times a day. I get world and national news 8 hours before anyone I know including my father who super smart. He is up way earlier than me, reading many different news sites online and newspapers while listening to a podcast and watching the news and yet I still get important news a good 8 hours before he does because of this new app! I just wait until later in the day for him to read “breaking news” and want to discuss it which I already knew hours ago all bc of this app. It is worth it to look pass the grammatical errors and repeating sentences, because the Golden news nugget is buried between these minor issues..Version: 3.5.1

Love my mail on lineThe daily mail has helped me cope I lost my husband a year ago in April. No doctor identified it As Covid in desperation I tel 111 it was too late. When they came my husband was delirious!! they told me they would not resuscitate him. I was in shock,I could not speak to him in the hospital. It took me five weeks to gets funeral that I was not allowed to go to::. I was licked up for twelve weeks, no one could come and sit with me and hold me and comfort me .and not knowing anything about our finances or how to do online banking or anything else to run a home as my husband did everything . We had no children and I am 81years old and had to learn technology to survive , I lived in a nightmare and still do. The daily mail was the only thing I used to let me know what was going on in the outside world. We always bought the daily mail and the mail on Sunday. My finances since my husbands death are greatly reduced and I can no longer afford to pay for them. I am grateful for the free Mail on line I am able to get. Though I do miss the full paper. We knew each other for sixty two years and they were the best years of my life I miss him every second of the day. Thank you I am reading this to help me sleep and keep up with the outside world Thank. You hazel Mills.Version: 4.1.1

Technical issues in late 2019 are now correctedHangs and crashes that were seen starting in September 2019 have now been corrected. With its relatively high-res photos, and great comments boards, this is my go-to news source. Yes, there are still some technical issues, such as de threading in the comments if you post replies from your profile instead of from the article, and the Daily Mail is well-known for its typographic errors. But really, it is all wonderful. And almost unbiased. Almost..Version: 3.9

ComprehensiveEasy to read. Interesting and informative..Version: 3.6

App unavailable in your areaI live in New Zealand and for the last 10 days have not been able to log into this app. Please send help!.Version: 4.0.1

Mail on Line is invaluableThis is a website where you can stay informed on so many diverse topics worldwide. Ive seen so many stories on the morning news hours after I’ve already read it on Mail On Line! Also the educational information and the choices of areas are truly something worthy of your time. I’ve recommended this site to many people — who now are daily readers.Version: 4.8.2
